Owner Pose
Leyanne Leyanne Mace is out and about today, testing a bike for a customer. It's a raked, monkey-swinger cruiser, with a big engine... it's loud, noisy, and not really her style. After riding it around in circles for a while to test its urban handling, the huge mouse pulls up into a parking space and gets off, heading towards the nearest hot-dog stand. Along the way, she pulls off her helmet and shakes her long, blue hair out of the tight bun it was in and back into its usual ponytail. She uses her tail to hang her helmet on her handlebars on the way, reverentially unrolling a battered beret and putting it on.
"Greetings, Earthling." SHe says to the vendor jovialy. "Gimme a double, ketchup no mustard."
Alden The petite digimon was exploring another of the many, random versions of the 'human' world of the multiverse, surprised at how normal this seemed, compared to his home!. He likely drew it's share of gazes, being what he was, but he simply replied with smiles and waves!, used to it apparently. The sight of a hotdog stand, and the smell of food draws his attention, that's something new!. He rushes, hoping he had money of the appropiate kind... he had a couple dollars from another earth...
At that time the biker mice appears!. He gasps at the sight of a huge, fuzzy humanoid getting some food, and he grins widely, waving towards Mace's and approaching faster, "Hi!", he seems to find even the usage of the tail to hold things cool.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace blinks and looks around for Aden. Then she looks down, to normal human level... still nothing. SHe looks down further. "Oh!" She smiles, spotting the little Digimon. "Hi down there" She gives a friendly smile, taking her hot-dog in her mechanical hand and paying the guy.
Her ears and antennae are constantly in motion; occasionally one of them tracks a particular noise source for a few seconds. Her tail too refuses to remain still.
Alden The digimon spends a few moments admiring the quite large non human critter, his doggish tail wagging while waiting for the white furred person to look down to his level!. There was a grin in his face, used to such reaction, especially from tall people. "I'm Alden, nice to meet you.", offering one of his hands as high as he can.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace smiles and crouches down to shake the offered hand. "I'm Leyanne, but most people call me Tiny. Nice to meet you!" She smiles
Alden The nickname gets a chuckle from the little digimon, "Tiny!, I like that nickname." he says, "I'm just Alden, since my Tamer liked that name... or Gabumon, but I know most non digimon find that a bit confusing if there is more than one of us in the area." he replies, grinning broadly, squeezing the hand firmly!, before addressing the hotdog vendor, "I'd like one too."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods a little, and watches... if the vendor doesn't accept the money from his order, she'll cover it. It's not too expensive. "Digimon... you guys are computer generated, right?" She asks, looking him up and down. "I still can't get used to how CG people can walk around out here in the not-digital world. The multiverse makes my head hurt"
Alden He grins and nods, "Yeah!, I am made of computer data." he says, "I still find some things from other worlds quite weird too." he muses, "I don't think I met a... mouse?, like you before." he says the term 'mouse' as if he was not used to animal species still, "I am not sure how I work, to be fair." he says with a chuckle, taking a bite of the hotdog.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods as she listens. "That's right I'm a mouse, a Martian mouse to be exact." She smiles. "I know how I work but that's because I'm very heavily augmented and I've got to be able to do maintenance"
Alden The digimon smiles and nods again, glancing at the metal arm curiously, "Oh!, that's really cool... I mean there are digimon cyborgs but, don't think they work that much like other machines... I can turn into a robot too, but don't think I really need mantenance myself." he muses.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "Oh I'm forever beating up my 'ware." She laughs, showing off the arm to let him look.
Alden Alden leans up, trying to inspect the offered arm a bit, "Looks rather complex." he muses.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods in agreement, pulling off one of the panels to show the mechanism underneath. "It is, but arms, at least for us meatbags, are pretty complex." She shows off the free-rotating wrist joint. "There's all sorts of muscles working with and against eachother to get the hand to where you need it to be."
Alden The digimon peers into the mechanism, and is good he was not mid chewing something, or he might drop crumbs into it!. "Wow..." muses, "And I thought my code was complicated... that's the closest to manteniance I can do... but I don't quite know how to fully fix my own code, it's just... patched." he says.
Rebound You know Rebound actually likes worlds where they know they're in the Multiverse. It makes thing way easier for her than having to hide in the shadows and slink through the sewers like in her home New York. So instead she walks down the street, browsing at shops that cater towards multiversal patrons. She may stop by and get a hotdog sold on a street corner, a New York classic.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods a little "I'd need a professional to do more than basic maintenance." She agrees, putting the covering back on. "And it needs to be inspected every year, or if I override the safeties." A pause. "We should probably get out the way. She stands up - towering above the crowd - and leads the way back to the bike she was testing.
"I tend to override the safties a lot. It gives me access to a lotta fun stuff in the arm. Pneumatic assist mode, hydraulic assist mode, that sorta thing."
Alden The digimon was a bit too mesmerized by the sight of the robot arm to notice another fuzzy person around at the moment, quickly moving aside to let Leyanne cover it again, wriggling his nosepad a bit. "I can understand, I kinda do that with my own code now and them... rewrite or change it temporarily." he says, before he blinks, realizing he likely was obstructing the food card. He moves with the white mouse and nods, "Yeah, helps getting a boost of power when needed."
Rebound Rebound is searching for clothes, she DOES need to wear stuff other than a tank top and boxing shorts once in a while. She also told Corona she was going to be here, if her foxy friend would care to join her.
Corona Arclite "Y'know, Ah use t'think the capital city was mighty big, but Ah reckon this place is even bigger." For Corona its less about hiding appearances, coming from a world where all sorts of anthros, aliens and others populate the frontier worlds. Just that her somewhat anachronistic attire doesn't look so weird when 'costumed vigilantes' is a relatively common thing. And occasionally finding a few things she can't back home. At least Corona stowed away all her guns so she doesn't rustle anyones jimmies in that department. "Not so sure how much help Ah am on this little soray though." Gives the considerably taller 'roo a nudge with her elbow. "Don't worry much 'bout whatta wearin' other than pract'callities."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods in agreement. "Yeah, sometimes you need a bit more than stock." she agrees, the mouse slightly looming over the crowd - tall enough that it's occasionally remarked upon by passerby. She smiles, tucking into her hot-dog. "But I understand the need for 'em... if I pushed my arm to its limit all the time I'd be breaking things"
Alden Alden nods, rubbing the back of his head, "I know it feels awful when I mess up something too much." he mumbles, smiling to the large mice, "At least I haven't broken anything yet." he says with a chuckle, devouring his own food quickly and looking around. "At least I figure it might be easier to fix than a broken digimon."
Rebound "C'mon Corona. Don't you wanna play pretty princess dressup?" Rebound asks, nudging her friend with an elbow, "Then we can totally fit in with high society." She laughs, like that would ever happen with these two.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite's tail flicks a few times in mock annoyance. "Too prissy. Too -clean-." Then leans a little to one side to look down herself. "... Though Ah reckon muh coloration wouldn't clash with pink at least." Though when she looks back up she notices something standing out of the street crowds, so to speak. Gives Rebound another nudge. "Hey, y'know any more big mutants like yerself, but more mousy?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods don at Alden "Kinda, kinda not. Most of my hardware is plug-and-play but I'd imagine there's some pretty complex manufacturing processes behind it all. Like, the actuators and free-clutch for the wrist, so I can move the fingers but it can still spin all the way around? Apparently that can only be manufactured up in space, in zero G. Easier for me, harder for someone else."
Rebound "The only mouse mutant I know is Splinter and he's technically a rat, why?" She asks, as she turns to peer at what Corona is peering at, "Oh. Huh. She is...Big." Rebound says, "Maybe we should go over and say hi."
Alden Alden smiles and tilts his head, "On space? that's great!, never been to space myself, only heard about it." he muses, "It all looks so complicated... wonder if that's how I look like in my robot form." he says, tail swishing slowly. He likely might be out of view, hidden by LEyanne's mass, or simply people gawking up to her face/head, thus unable to see the digimon.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nosd as she listens to Alden "It is, way out of my understanding." She listens to the question, then shakes her head "I... don't know. Maybe." She admits, munching away on her hotdog.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite just points Rebound in the direction of Leyanne standing a good couple of heads over the rest of the general crowd by the hotdog cart. "Yep, definately a tall drink o' water." Then tucks her hands back in the pockets of her vest as she ambles after her. "May as well mosey over and make sure they ain't causin' trouble, rawht? Ain't that what ya usually do when ya ain't kickin' dustbowl punks outta Brimsteal with me, after all."
Rebound "Hey now, I'm just your average underground vigilante by night." Rebound replies to Corona, as she heads over towards the two, "Hey there!" She says, as she gets close enough to spot Alden as well, "Welcome to New York! Sorry hope I'm not interrupting anything, you just sorta...Stand out in a crowd, if you will." She says, "My name's Rebound."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace looks over as she's called out to, smiling "Hey Rebound. I'm Leyanne - but please, call me Tiny." She offers her hand "I've been to... a couple of New Yorks before but I think I like this place. I don't get stared at as much." She nods to Corona too, as she's with Rebound. She nods as it's mentioned she stands out. "Mars is a low-grav world, but I'm tall even for a Martian."
Alden Alden smiles to Leyanne, "Maybe I should show you sometime." he muses, pawing at his D-Ark for a moment, before hearing a somewhat familiar voice!. The digimon turns around... and walks from behind LEyanne of course, waving a hand to the approaching 'roo and fox.... vixen?. He wags his tail, more fuzzy people!. "Hey!" he chirps happily.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite stops, looking up at the tall mouse and then down at the furry critter. Then back up again. "Maybe not a lot of starin' 'round these parts, but y'all do still kinda stand out." She gives her hat a tip to the two. "Name's Corona Arclite."
Rebound "Hey Alden. Been a while." Rebound says, as she reaches down and gives him a rub on his head to be friendly, "Yeah this paticular New York tends to be less, uh, horribly speciesist." She laughs, "Seriously the number of times people scream 'Aaahhhh!' and then run away back in my old hometown is probably in the triple digits by now."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace smiles "Nice to meet you too, Corona." She smiles, nodding to Alden. "That'll be cool."
She nods to Corona's comment. "Standin' out's something I'm used to. Even back home on Mars, I'm a good foot or two taller than pretty much every other Martian I've ever met." She looks to Rebound, with a frown "Yeah that's what it was like in the early days, when it was just the bros in detroit."
Alden The fuzzy digimon grins and moves towards Rebound, taking the rub eagerly and nuzzling into the hand, the little guy was surprisingly cuddly!. He grins and nods, "I noticed... it is nice!, back home humans get freaked out at digimon... but then again, can't quite blame them." he muses, rubbing the back of his head. "Wonder what happened here to make everyone so... ok with unusual people."
Corona Arclite There's a pause for a moment, then Corona yips out a laugh. "Ah thought maybe yer another mutant like Rebound here, but Ah guess yer from even farther outta town!" Then scratchs the side of her head. "Though s'pose technically Ah count as an alien too. Guess this place has had exposure to and acceptin' of the multiverse fer longer."
Rebound "Mutants, aliens, Digimon. It's a regular party up in here." Rebound says, "All we need now are some ninjas or pirates and we'll be all set."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace laughs "Yeah. I think it's 'cause... as far as I read, there's been weird shit goig on in this 'verse longer than it's been Unified." She chuckles. "I am, fourth rock from the sun. Technically descended from Earth stock, but nobody knows how, when or why my ancestors ended up on Mars."
Corona Arclite While they're talking Corona meanders a bit farther to the side, eyeing over Leyanne's bionic arm. Eventually she does reach out to tap a knuckle against it, ears twitching. "Suits ya bein' an alien that this sounds like no alloy Ah've ever heard before."
Alden Alden rubs his chin, looking at his D-ark sneakily, before back at the other two, moving to Corona, "Are you a friend of Rebound?"
Rebound "Well you know, I always say that background isn't as important as future. Yeah you should remember where you come from, but it's not as important as where you're going." Rebound notes, as she glances at Alden, "Corona? Yeah. She showed up when I first popped up into the Multiverse and I have been helping out a lot in her homeworld."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace listens to the others, nodding. "I hear you there." She agrees, finishing off her hotdog. She blinks as her arm is tapped, smiling. "The outer coating's a polycarbonate plastic not that different from what's used in bulletproof glass." SHe explains to Corona. "The real space-age stuff is under the surface. You know much about cybernetics?"
Alden Alden smiles to Rebound and nods, "That's good, i need to make more friends... especially with my new position back home." he chuckles, "Perhaps I should invite you all to my world sometime." she says, listening to Corona and Leyanne, "I don't know anything about mechanical things... or really about programming... feels a bit weird for a digital thing to say that."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite tilts her head a little to the side in regards to what Rebound says. Some people don't have a choice in not being able to go back. But that's not things that need to come up in polite chitchat. Besides, Leyanne quickly distracts her again talking about the arm. "Not specif'cally, this is a bit more advanced than what we see on Brimsteel, but Ah know more than m'share 'bout machines in general."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace listens, nodding. "That's cool, I know bikes, myself." She pats the bike she's next to. "I ship this one out to a customer next week, and the week after that the lease runs out on my shop and I'll me trying to move to a bigger place"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods to ALden "I'd like to go there, I love seeing different places in the 'verse"
Alden Alden grins to 'Tiny', "Well, feel free to let me know anytime and we can see about going there!, do be warned it is fairly different from most places."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace listens, nodding. "I been to many strange places, man... I'd like to see as many places as possible"
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite chuckles a bit. "Welp, there's no shortage of multiverse out there fer ya to find a new place. 'Specially if yer business is as widespread now too."
Alden The digimon chuckles a bit, "Well, I'll make sure to get you there soon, introduce you to my friends, show some digimon things!" she says, "I think a lot of people seem surprised." he admits, before glancing at Corona, his tail wagging slowly, "I think the multiverse is great, but i need to see more of it."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "THere's plenty of folks who would ride, I think." TIny comments. "I think it's more about where I can find rent I can afford."
She nos to Alden. "That'll be awesome"
Rebound "Hey so who's hungry?" Rebound says, seemingly out of the blue, "I know this great hot dog stand not far from here, the guy's an out of towner like all of us, but his hot dogs are top notch."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite laughs, slapping Rebound on her shoulder. "Ah was wonderin' when ya'd remember the other thin' we came t'town in the first place for."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace blinks "I just had a hot-dog from there." She nods to the stand on the corner "But I'm always up for trying new food."
Rebound "Well I'm hungry just the same." Rebound responds to Tiny, as she heads over to the vendor, "What'cha want on your's Corona?" She inquires from her vulpine friend, ordering her own first as she waits for Corona to order
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods and follows Rebound happily, swishing her tail. She looks at Rebound a moment, plotting out how a bike for a roo would work.
Corona Arclite "Everything they can fit on a weiner in a bun," Corona replies, licking her lips a little. "What's the point iffen ya don't go all in, rawht?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "We all got tastes. I like just ketchup, but that's because the smell of onion too close makes my antennae tingle."
Rebound Rebound orders up Corona's with everything and just ketchup on Leyanne's, "And for me, spicy mustard and saeurkraut." She ends, as the man gets to work putting the three hot dogs together
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite licks her lips again as the toppings are practically dripping over the bun as it's handed to her. "Good thing I'm already wearing gloves," she remarks. She almost chomps down on it right away, but pauses to look up at Leyanne's head again. "Ya can -smell- with those? Up there?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "Smell, hear, and sense some kinds of electromagnetic field." Her left arm bends oddly to avoid josting ayone as she retrieves her hot-dog. "They're pretty cool. And they crop up with unusual regularity on Mars across the multiverse"
Rebound "There's something to think about." Rebound says, as she noms on her hot dog, "Millions of worlds formed humans, worlds that have nothing to do with each other, worlds whole galaxies apart, and yet still humans pop up. Weird, right?" She asks, as she takes another bite, "Of course I'm the only one here who was human at one point so maybe I'm overthinking it."
Corona Arclite "Handy when yer GPS decides to go on the fritz." Corona reachs up with one hand to give one of her ears a tug. "Muh ears are strong 'nuff Ah've learned to identify mechanical issues by sounds that normal folks might not even hear. Or what stuff's made of. S'how Ah could tell yer arm was made of unusual stuff just by tappin' it." Then starts chowing down on the hotdog finally.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "Probably two of the universal constants. Martians have antennae and humans are everywhere." She nods as she listens to Corona, taking the opportunity to devour some of her hot-dog. "I know what you mean, I get it with engines. I can... I wouldn't say I get it right all the time, but fairly often you can tell what's wrong with an engine by the sound of the exhaust."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite keeps the partially eaten hotdog balanced in one hand while she uses the other to tick off fingers. "Ah work on the industrial works that keep Loadstar runnin', her defenses, the super-trains that haul ev'rythin' around, my own tools an' weapons..."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods as she listens to Corona. "Nice, I just build bikes." She admits. "No fancy stuff like trains or anything... though I do a couple of armed models"
Rebound "I punch things." Rebound says, "Or kick them too. Sometimes I do both at the same time." She says, as she grins, "That's my gimmick. I'm not a smart building type like you guys."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite reachs over to give Rebound's shoulder a swat with her free hand. "Now now Hoppy, stop talkin' like yer stupid. Cuz yer not. Yer just better at thinkin' in the moment, on those big ol' feet of yers. Solvin' practical problems bluntly." Literally. Then goes to shove the rest of the hotdog in her mouth.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "Nothing wrong with that. It's kinda what I do when shit goes down." SHe laughs. "And I do stupid stuff, too."
Rebound "Hey if it looks stupid but it works it's not stupid." Rebound replies to Leyanne, and then smirks back at Corona, "I know it, but I also love talking you up." She says, turning back to Leyanne, "Seriously come to Brimsteel sometime and check out those trains, they're amazing."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite pffs softly. "Nuttin' ventured, nuttin' gained. Where's the excitement iffen ya do things the same way everyone else does em?" Instead of bothering with a napkin she just pulls her neck bandana up far enough to wipe off her mouth. "Ah mean, there's a time fer being careful, and a time when ya just gotta do what ya gotta do. That's kinda how justice on the cosmic frontier works."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace laughs "Oh, no. I do th' kinda stupid that's stupid even if it works. The kinda stupid that begins with the words 'welcome to Jackass', y'know?" She nods at the suggestion "Totally, there's so many places I gotta check out but finding a nice, straight bit o' road and cruising with a train is always cool. Especially if the trains are as awesome as you say they are." She's polished off her own hot-dig happily. "I hear ya, Corona. Though the multiverse does seem to like those who do stupid stuff for fun"
Rebound "You know at least the multiverse seems to have a sense of humor." Rebound says, "Otherwise I'd probably be totally screwed." The kangaroo finishes off her hotdog and then looks between the two, "So what do you do for fun? Just work on bikes? Or you got a hobby?"
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite says, "Or was that the hobby... unless the hobby was the punching faces in." Corona shrugs. "Either works."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "I like extreme sports... really doesn't matter what. If it's sponsored by an energy drink somewhere I've probably done it. If not it's somewhere on the to-do list, y'know? Been pretty big into orbital skydives and wingsuiting recently but about three months ago it was free-climbing and before /that/ it was downhill mountain biking... parkour's great for keeping the squishy bits in shape."
As she chats, a skater-looking teenager tries to sneakily take a picture of the mouse, leaning over to his friends to talk about how he saw her get scooped up by a mail train doing 80mph on the local jackass equivalent.
Rebound "All of those things sound like things that would probably kill me." Rebound replies, "But it also sounds like fun. Maybe I'll have to try it at some point." She says, with a grin.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite slaps her thigh with a hand and yowls with excitement. "Sounds like Ah gotta get ya up to Brimsteel next time they's have one of the open entry rodeos! Maybe both of ya, betcha Rebound could put those big ol' legs to use in the cowtippin' contest iffen nuttin' else."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace grins "Rodeo? Shit yeah... I'd have to put in a couple calls but I know some dudes who would -love- to film eachother getting hurt in the rodeo. Mind, with the amount of metal I got in me, it'd be pretty hard to find many angry beasts that could carry me."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite just rocks back with even more laughter at that. "You won't be sayin' that after ya seen what Brimsteel cattle look like! They's just as big and ornery as the rest of the planet's environment!" Then reachs over to slap Leyanne's cyber-arm. " 'course ya can always come up the next time we gotta chase off molemen, too. Those buggers have been quiet lately.. which only means they gotta be up to somethin'."
Rebound "Plus I'm sure Corona here could whip up a mechanical bull that'd put the real ones to shame, if they're not good enough for you." Rebound adds
Leyanne Leyanne Mace raises an eyebrow at the laughter. "Oh, there's big fuckers that could chuck me around? Oh man, I gotta tell Trav about that. Let me kno when there's a rodeo yeah? I'll be well up for that." SHe laughs. "Molemen?" She tilts her head curiously
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite grabs her stetson to straighten it out after the fit of laughter nearly shook it off her head. "Oh, yeah, molemen. Live underground, worship elderich things that shouldn't exist. Their so-called king seems to have beef with 'surface folk' mining up resources, thinks since it's all underground it belongs to them. And by them, he means hisself of course."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace frowns "I know th' type." She scowls. "I think they're the type that took Mars from us. You need a hand, let me know."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite mmhmmms. "Welp always good to have another helpin' hand or two or three when they decide to show their ugly mugs again."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "And I always like seein' new worlds and helpin' people out." She smiles "And finding new, creative ays to get hurt"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace ponders "I should probably head back to my shop, the customer's probably wondering where I went with his bike..."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite chuckles. "Yeah, reckon Ah should head home and see if anythin's come up that needs fixin' again. Miss C gets twitchy if Ah'm gone too long when somethin' happens."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "Well, gimme yer warpgate address if you like, I'll swing by. I'll give you mine as soon as I know it's stable"
Corona Arclite You can tell someone like Corona has been around a few times, when she's produced a card with coordinates from a pocket before Leyanne even finishes asking. "Loadstar's a trade depot so Ah keep these handy fer times like this."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace takes the card and sticks it into her pocket, settling on the bike. "Thanks. I'll call you before I drop in... I'm not quite stupid enough to drop myself unprepared in a hostile desert." She grins, rolling her hair up into a tight little bun to fit under her helmet. Then she takes her beret off, and settles the bone-dome in place.
