Lyner Barsett      It's been quite some time since Ar Ciel was in any multiversal spotlight. Not since the incidents of the Phantom Cocoon more than several long months ago. In which the inhabitants of the lower lands of Sol Ciel were threatened with death at the hands of a single Reyvateil. But that incident was resolved, after much trial, and things were back to normal. Well, a normal as normal on Ar Ciel is anyway. Have you see thse crazies from Metafalss? No? Okay.

Either way, in the months that followed, one Radolf Schneizen and the Church of Elemia had been made very busy making the rounds across the land and providing support and outreach for the affected areas. Which was basically everywhere. The Plasma Bell was almost drained of its energy, which would have sent the entire Wing of Horus hurtling into the Sea of Death. That would have spelled the end for countless people in the lower lands.

It's really a miracle they prevented it.

Today though, outreach is happening in Karulu Village. A small, moderately populated settlement on the frontier of Sol Ciel. It's not anything special honestly, but it is the only place to rest for miles around, which gives it it's own unique purpose way out here. The knights of the church are patrolling the village, assisting with any lingering rebuilding efforts, driving off dangerous creatures outside the village limits, and other relief efforts.

Lyner is here, serving as a representative of not only the Knights of Elemia from high above in Platina, but also as a liason for the Paladins, who have spared some resources to assist in the ongoing efforts. Supplies are being ferried this way and that, building materials, food, medicine. He's got his hands full helping to direct where things go and speaking with people who approach with inquiries now and then.

Radolf does much the same in another section of the village, and with him is a familiar face to a few; Ayla Es Sotiris. The very same Reyvateil who nearly caused the end of Sol Ciel. She looks fine and healthy compared to when she was last seen! Though she looks terribly unsure of herself as she speaks with a group of children that have approached her excitedly. Her two robot guardians, Phonon and Sonnet, are nearby, doing absolutely nothing to help. Useful.

All in all... It looks like things are going well.
Kazusa Ujikane     Much has changed in the Multiverse since the Phantom Cocoon crisis. One thing that has not changed, is Kazusa Ujikane. Sure, she's wholly employed by Heaven or Hell now instead of an Elite backed by the Union - but this is still a world she helped save, from a crisis that nearly wrecked it. She's been curious, and perhaps a tad worried, about how it would turn out. So with the chance offered to come out and visit Sol Ciel and possibly offer a hand if they need it, the card-user didn't have to think twice.

And she also doesn't have to think twice about what to do when she gets a glimpse of a certain Reyvateil.

                                  *ker-HUG*

"Aah, Ayla~! You look so much better now, it's good to see you again! I was really worried after all of that, but then the Multiverse kind of came apart and back together, and there was a lot to worry about, and Saber and I had to get a new job, and someone stole my BluRay player and Saber was really upset, and- aheh, um. I'm glad to see you're doing better!" Hug. Huuuuuug.
Jakuri     Thank goodness Jakuri is not one of the crazies from Metafalss. She just visited that one time... The time where she got the moniker 'Jakuri'. People are dumb in Metafalss. Like that dumb Croix, and that dumb Cloche, and that dumb Luca...! Wait we're getting off track here.
Jakuri, for whatever reason is here despite 'relief efforts' involving the word 'effort', and therefore generally being outside her sphere of interest. In fact, she is being decidedly unhelpful for the most part, laying atop ELMA-DSRX who is silently plodding along close to Lyner and nothing more... Actually, that's probably why Jakuri is here, isn't it? Lyner. She might not be involved in any of the new factions like her erstwhile vanguard, but this does not prevent her from lingering near him for... Some reason. No one can really tell with Jakuri. Oh, but why are there little purple bunny-things with patchwork faces hopping around and playing with the kids...? Those don't look like any normal monsters...!
Moonlit Saber "I was not -that- upset." Even in a strange place like this, Saber likely stands out. It's probably the fancy kimono she's wearing. Or perhaps the silvery-white hair. "And we did get to replace it." There's a very brief pout that crosses her lips as she steps forward, but it's soon replaced with a faint, but kind, smile. "I take it you are friends with Kazusa." Saber inclines her head slightly toward the Reyvateil. "I am Saber. Or you may call me Kaguya, if you prefer."
Deelel Deelel still considers Lyner a friend and has just more fallen off grid with the Multiverse exploding but she's intede dot come check up on Ar Ciel and to see how it was doing by chance hoping to catch up with her friend here and just see how things are doing. She'd been hoping to seek out Lyner too. She'd found out where he was stationed and oddly even with the new factions? People she'd trusted her life with before she still does. After all Lyner, Xiaomu, Reiji and other Paladins knew enough to just end the restiance against CLU and not a single one /had/ spilled the beans or the simple fact the Paladins don't seem to be intent to Aid CLU either is enough for her.

She's also had growing doubts about the Watch and it's leaderships knee jerk way of actint maybe she had some major things to think about but for now she would be trying to find Lyner in this viliage and see how he's doing. It's hard to miss her light cycle, and then the clearly grid inspried clothing Deelel wore with the visable circuit line tattoos.
Yuna Kagurazaka Ar Ciel has been of interest to Yuna for a long time, and she's always tried to help the people of that world out when she gets a chance ... even if such chances have been a little on the skimpy side of late. She was glad to assist with the Phantom Cocoon incident, though, and the chance to visit and do some follow-up outreach is welcome news to the blonde idol.

She probably doesn't technically NEED to be in her Light Suit for this trip, but she's outfitted in the battlesuit anyway, just in case something comes up all of a sudden. And that's probably easier for some people to recognize her in, for what that's worth.

At the moment, she's helping to hand out relief packages of food, giving each package to the recipient with a bright, warm smile and a friendly well-wishing. She *probably* doesn't know enough about the Church of Elemia to give thematically-appropriate blessings ...
Lyner Barsett      "Waugh!" Ayla squeaks as Kazusa all by tackles her her side with a hug. "Wha-huh? What?" Blink blink! The dark skinned Reyvateil looks down at the girl attached to her in surprise for a few moments, but then she smiles kindly as she listens to the girl drone on and on and about the collapse of the Multiverse and a stolen blu ray player and then a Saber and then- "Oh. You're..." Pause. "...Kazusa, right?" She remembered. "Thank you. Back then, the Union really helped me get better, so I'm grateful to them." She pats the girl's head.

Both Phonon and Sonnet, donning maid outfits, stare at Kazusa silently, but critically but stoicly, with the mechanisms that make up their eyes zooming, contracting, and spinning subtly. ...Even as children congregate about them and ooh and ahh.

At Saber's approach, Ayla smiles and returns the polite gesture with a head inclination of her own. "It's nice to meet you, Kaguya." Saber was a weapon. She won't call someone a weapon. "So you're the one who helps Kazusa?" Her kind smile remains ever still and she pats the aforementioned girl's head again. "It's good to see she has such a reliable person at her side." She bows her head. "I owe her, among others, my life. So please take care of her.

Lyner meanwhile glances aside at Jakuri once he finishes answering a few questions. ...Yeah, Mir being here was kind of a miracle in and of itself. When he said he was heading out to Ar Ciel to help Radolf with relief efforts, he didn't expect that she'd follow. After all, she's got dumb people to be salty at online! But no, here she is. ...Lounging on ELMA. Doing nothing.

     "......"

His eyes eventually catch sight of some distressingly abnormal looking bunnies hopping about and playing with some kids nearby. And then he covers his mouth to muffle a laugh. Nope. He's not going to say anything. "-Pffft, so you *are* doing something." He grins. "I didn't take you to be a kids person, Mir." Nope. That was a lie. He's saying something.

Deelel gets a look once he catches sight of her and he waves. "Oh, hey Deelel! It's been ages! I didn't even know you were coming out this way!" A grin follows and the blonde looks her up and down before nodding. "You seem to be unharmed. That's good! I heard vague rumblings about trouble in your world. Is everything okay out there?"

As for Yuna, Lyner also recognizes her and gives her a call. "Hey, Yuna! Good to see you too!" Cheerfully he waves his arm high above his head to get the idol's attention like a fool. "Thanks for coming out here! You're a huge help! Oh by the way, I totally bought your last song on MyTunes! It's awesome!" Damn it Lyner, stop making a scene, you fool!
Lyner Barsett      ...But then it happens

     FWOOSH

From far out in the distance, beyond the treeline of the frontier and off into the Sea of Death, there's a blast of light that rises from below and pierces the heavens. And then another... and another... And then countless smaller ones follow. Forming a veritable cloud of gold and silver in the very sky itself. It's almost mesmerizing. And Lyner looks off into the sky hurriedly, blinking slowly after. "What.... What is *that*?" He asks no one particular. "Hey Mir, you have any idea what the heck that is?"

Radolf shakes his head, looking no more knowledgeable than the Knight of Elemia nearby him. It doesn't look like anything I've ever seen." And he frowns. "...I've got a bad feeling."

Ayla meanwhile looks up from where she stands among a gaggle of children and one Kazusa Ujikane, slow blinking a few times. "Ah- That's..." Her brows furrow in worry. "...Phonon, Sonnet? Can you analyze those things?" The two shake their heads. "Negative. Even with occular zoom, they are out of our range. We will have to get closer or wait for them to get closer to u-"

That sentence isn't finished, because right then, the pillars of light in the sky dissipate. ...And then that massive cloud of silver and gold figures suddenly move. They hurtle their way towards Sol Ciel, and more specifically; Karulu Village.

     THUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNK THUNK THUNKTHUNKTHUNK THUNK THUNK!!

All across the village and into the distance, huge forms of silver and gold land. They have odd, inhuman shapes with sharp angles and the oddest pointed limbs and heads. They look like robots almost, but they way they move, and the way their bodies shift give off the impression as if they are made from liquid.

     There's a moment of silence.

And then all hell breaks loose. One of those alien beings raises it's arms, green motes of energy forming... And then twin blasts of energy are unleashed through the village, tearing through a house, which is followed by screams of terror and panic and people start to scramble.

Suddenly, it's not so peaceful anymore.
Jakuri     "No idea what you're talking about," Jakuri replies smartly, not even looking at Lyner as she speaks. She's lounging, staring at the sky for the time being. It is her staring at the sky that allows her to see the blasts of light that proceed to... Arrive at the village. Before they even do, Jakuri is scrambling to stand atop ELMA and claps her hands to summon the bunnies back to her... And then the bunnies are much bigger, and a lot more threatening. "Lyner! There's work to do! *Move*, or we lose this village, everyone in it, and this spreads." Does Mir know what's up? It's difficult to tell, really. She at least knows that whatever comes later will be much worse.
Kazusa Ujikane     "That's me," Kazusa replies cheerfully, finally releasing the poor reyvateil. "And Kaguya's a legendary hero, and also my best friend!" THere may or may not be an arm around Saber's shoulder for this. (There totally is.)

Then, of course, fate decides to go 'yeah, no, this will totally not be peaceful'.

Kazusa turns in alarm, watching the blasts of light pierce the sky, and a deep frown pulls itself onto her face. "...Kaguya," she says, her voice softer, somewhat tense. She doesn't need to say more; the sound of 'I have a bad feeling, be ready' is universal. Already, the card-user is reaching down to her purse. There's another brief frown for a different reason; her first instinct would be to ask Ayla to borrow her abilities, but The Magus is already expended, while The Marksman and The Cutthroat have nothing immediately loaded. That leaves her only real option as one of her two 'trump cards'.

The screams of panic galvanize her. No sense 'saving it for later'. She pulls the card from her purse, holds it out, and-

           "By the card I choose, I stand as a hero! /THE KNIGHT/!"

The card comes apart into a shower of sparks, passing over Kazusa's body in a wave that starts at her hand, changing her as it goes. Where it passes, it leaves behind an outfit similar to Saber's, lightening her skin color, changing her hair to the same color as her Servant's. Even her expression grows calmer, as hands reach to the newly-created sword at her side. Without hesitating, Saber Kazusa (Kaguya Ujikane?) lunges into the fray - targeting first those strange creatures which most threaten the townspeople.
Yuna Kagurazaka The sudden eruptions of light in the distance make Yuna start in surprise, almost shoving the parcel that's currently in her hands against the hands of an older woman from the village. "Ah, sorry ... are you all right?" Yuna asks with a sheepish grin; once she's sure no damage has been done, Yuna turns to look at the weird pillars of light, her heart twisting in unease. "Elner," she murmurs, touching one of her earpieces, "any idea what those are ... ?"

The robo-faerie doesn't have time to answer before the gold and silver things begin their approach. That's all the cue Yuna really needs to send out another call, this one silent in the material world but as loud as a scream mentally - and just like that, three more girls around the village revert to their true forms, sleekly armored and gleaming, taking to the air and zeroing in on Yuna's position. The first of the 'aliens' touches down before the full Matrix of Light can converge on Yuna's location -

            "LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT *UP*!!! EL-LINE!!"

- but they're close enough for Yuna to shout the invocation, a pillar of pure white light erupting around her. It's nowhere near fast enough to prevent the first attack, though, and when the Matrix Figure finishes materializing, the damage has already been done. It's probably a really good thing that El-Line looks VERY different from these new arrivals - where the 'alien' beings are gold and silver, El-Line's armor is mostly gleaming white, highlighted in places with blue and only occasional gold. And inside its cockpit, Yuna trembles - but not in fear.

She trembles in fury.

"I don't know who you are or why you're attacking this place," Yuna calls out, "but I'm sure nobody here did anything to provoke an attack - ESPECIALLY NOT AGAINST INNOCENTS!!!" El-Line's arms snap out to its sides, as if flexing artificial muscles, and then come up - or at least, they start to. The right arm *does* come all the way up after that false start, palm glittering as Yuna focuses a chunk of her will into preparing an attack .... but before that?

"SHUGOSEIHEKI!!!" Yuna all but screams, and a kite shield flares into existence on the Matrix Figure's *left* arm, raised so that she can try and block any additional attacks against the village, or the villagers. And by the time she has the Wall of the Guardian Star ready, Kazusa is already plunging into melee with the monsters; the glow in El-Line's right palm subsides as that arm is lowered, Yuna's full attention turning - at least for now - to preventing further assaults on the village.

Gods know what'll happen if she finds a chance to go on the offensive. Maybe none of her personal friends have been hurt yet, but attacking innocents is *quite* bad enough.
Moonlit Saber The one who helps Kazusa? "You could put it like that, I suppose." Saber tilts her head thoughtfully for a moment, then nods. "I am her Servant." Translators or no, there's something more than mundane about that word the way she says it. "Of course. I always take care of her."

And then Kazusa's arm is around her sohulder. Despite her elegant appearance and demeanor, Saber merely smiles at the show of affection. "Calling me a legendary hero is a bit..."

But then, those lights. Green eyes shift this way and that, and by the way the others are reacting, she assumes that is not something that happens around here normally. A pair of swords materializes at her side, though her hand only falls to one: a shorter, straighter blade with an oddly-shaped grip. She doesn't draw it yet, but as soon as those lights go from a mysterious curiosity to a serious threat, she draws Kusanagi in an instant. She lets out a soft breath as she glances to the side to see her Master reaching for her cards, knowing what is left... and given that they are among civilians, she knows which one Kazusa will pick. She's not surprised, then, at the result. She does, however, wait just a moment before charging in, turning to face Ayla. "Are these monsters or some other sort of threat?" She doesn't wait -too- long for an answer, though, before she darts forward. Time spent waiting is time spent not protecting people. With Kusanagi in hand, she dashes for the nearest one, a swift slash aimed at where the creatur's arm attaches to its body. Best to disarm them (literally and figuratively) before they can use that blast again.
Deelel Deelel Says "IOt has been ages, I was comming to make sure you are all riught, I haven't seen my world since the universe crashed I'ma fraid. The gate's note lined up right or I'm looking in the wrong places sadly. I was just here to make sure you were all right!"

She notices Yuna and KAz are here as well and she seemsto be in a good mood, this might be turning into a good general social call.

That is so much wishful thinking as they are now under attack andshe's now ighing, she had wnated to have ... a good time but the blasta are comming. She takes a moment as people panic to summon her keyblade and mutters.

"I'll handle trying to get people clear and healing."

With That Deelel is going to do that while others more likely go afer the thing behind it. Seriously why of all the times did this have to happen to day if at all?!
Lyner Barsett      Following that first blast of energy, several other lifeforms spring into action and launch their own attacks, starting their assault on this little frontier village. Energy blasts in varying colors are unleashed, and others skate across the ground, aiming to cut and slid through buildings and people alike.

Naturally this isn't going to be taken sitting down. Radolf immediately launches into action. "All hands! Evacuate everyone you can see, and search for anyone you can't see!" He grips his spear and starts off into a run. "Lyner, Mir, Everyone else, please help me!" Not that it even needs to be asked, but the man will never be a proper soul. And then he's off, fighting his way through and intercepting attacks while rallying villagers to evacuate the vicinity. All other knights scramble to do the same thing and fighting seems to have broken out all over, with houses being destroyed and fires starting up... It's like a scene out of hell in the making.

"Right, got it." Lyner nods to Mir and pulls out his own weapon. A pure white blade crackling with electricity. He frowns, but gives the hurriedly departing Radolf a thumbs up. Mir seems to know something, but now isn't the time for exposition. Immediately, he takes point in front of the black clad Reyvateil and dives into action, keeping the attention of nearby gold and silver entities while Mir gets to work on the bigger bursts of damage. He defends, counters, jumps about, and generally annoys to keep any nearby from going after her.

Ayla meanwhile worriedly glances aside at Kazusa as she draws a card and then... changes? That lookss familiar actually. She's sure she's seen it before. Nonetheless, she steps back and lets the girl go to work. Several golden and silver creatures nearby cease their assault on civilians when she launches into the fray, and they turn their pointed limbs upon her. Two stand back and raise their arms, taking time to charge up energy. Another two remain in melee range and stab and slash at her with their arms. All in attempt to rid themselves of the annoyance.

To Saber, the Reyvateil blinks slowly and shakes her head. "I have my suspicions, but I can't be totally sure. ...But if they are what I think they are..." She takes a step back. "Then everything's just gotten a whole lot more complicated. Please do your best, Kaguya. I'm going to go help evacuate!" There's no time to say more. Phonon and Sonnet transform into combat forms, shielding the dark skinned girl as they usher her off out of harm's way.

Meanwhile, as Kaguya charges forth towards one of those creatures at blinding speed, it doesn't seem to be focusing on her. Which is a mistake as the arm it had raised suddenly goes missing. PLUNK. Down to the ground it falls with a heavy thud. There is no pain reaction. Instead, it just turns to the Servant and slashes down at her with its remaining arm! A splitting blow to the head if not dealt with!

Yuna summons something of much more pressing concern however. If these things can even feel concern. El-Line is summoned and with it, she deploys that shield, Shugoseiheki. Any more blasts of energy are halted by the wide spread of that shield, preventing further ranged assault from the things. But now, the lot of them turn their sights on her and that thing she's piloting! A good number of them focus their assault on her, firing energy blasts her way, charging in to stab at that shield without an ounce of hesitation. These things can't speak. They seem to act for a singular purpose... whatever that is.

Deelel is joined by Ayla and her robots as she assists with the evacuation. "I-I'll help!" The Reyvateil stammers quickly. "We need to hurry, while Yuna is defending the village!" And while she says so, she's already helping to usher the wounded and panicked out of the vicinity of the battle. ...What a day, what a day...
Jakuri     When was the last time Jakuri did any Singing? When was the last time anyone got to hear her utter Hymmnos, summon up the true power of a Reyvateil and, well... Unleash hell on her enemies? It might be that not even Lyner has seen the strange things that Mir proceeds to unleash upon the attacking machines, specfically a giant black sphere with a single red eye that shoots ~frikken laser beams~ at everything in her path, while Lyner acts as her shield. What are the angry, giant bunny plushes doing? Well, they're vicious things that lay into the smaller foes that have joined in on the chaos in an effort to destroy the village... All at the behest of their fair creator, MIR_TEIWAZ_ARTONELICO. It no doubt makes things seem all the more chaotic, but at the very least who is on which side is fairly obvious. By now even ELMA has joined the fray, carrying Mir while using its own laser defenses to cover both Lyner and Mir where they need it. Blue lasers, red lasers, green lasers. It is a veritable technicolor dreamshow.
Kazusa Ujikane     Though moments ago, Kazusa was a frail, nerdy girl, now she is all grace, speed and sharpness. The blade in her hand - not Kusanagi as Saber herself is using, but the Honjo Masamune - dances back and forth between the striking limbs of the creatures, parrying and pushing aside; a couple of strikes manage to just get by, only nicking the pseudo-Servant, and she responds with inhumanly fast strikes aimed to remove those limbs completely. She hasn't missed the ones beginning to charge up, but she's trying to take out the nearer ones first to give herself more breathing room.
Deelel Deelel is joined by Ayla and her robots which are welcome as she focus on the evacuation. "We do, we won't have long let's focus on lives over property if we have to. Material can be replaced people, of what ever flavour can not be so." With out furhter word Deelel gets to work but she's also casting haste on people to help keep things from getting clocked up though she tends to focus on thoe who are keeping leveler heads or helping with the wounded. She know she can trust Yuna to hold that thing as long as sh'es able and eveyrone else? Clearly knows what they are doing and Lyner should be fine he's a knight he's got skills in delaing with insane things right?
Yuna Kagurazaka On the one hand, El-Line is big and tanky and can take a good share of punishment; when you absolutely, positively, HAVE to stop a bombardment NOW, the Matrix Figure is frequently Yuna's best recourse against enemies of this size.

On the other hand, El-Line is subject to the same limits as Yuna's regular Light Suit - scaled up, to be sure, but the limits are still there, and when she calls out El-Line, it's usually against foes who are similarly up on the scale - in size, in firepower, in everything. And as the shining giants begin focusing their firepower on the Matrix Figure, Yuna feels it - exactly like she feels damage to her Light Suited self when fighting on foot. And there are so many of these metallic-seeming monsters that if it were just her against them, the best she could hope to do is buy time for the village to be evacuated.

Thankfully, she's NOT the only one fighting these monsters. She may be the only one at their approximate size, but that doesn't stop the other Elites from pitching in. Whether by sword or by beamsat, by keyblade or card, each of them is assaulting the alien attackers.

"LIGHTNING SWOOOORD!!!" Yuna finally calls out, El-Line's right arm reaching out to one side; energy crackles and flares from its palm, then erupts and - solidifies? - into a large sword. Yuna has to be careful with her swings so that she doesn't hurt any of her allies ... but she can at least start parrying some of the titans' slashes at El-Line's kite shield. And given half a chance, she can try to cut back at the monsters - still swinging high to make REALLY sure she won't hurt anyone, and checking before each slash she attempts to deliver.

When it comes to the aliens' beam attacks, though, she HAS to fall back on trying to tank them with Shugoseiheki. Melee, she can try to parry. Beams? Not so much.
Moonlit Saber The lack of any sort of sound as she lops off the beast's arm is enough to make Saber glance at it curiously. Unless it's screaming silently, these things can't possibly be alive. "Mmm. You are far too slow." She saw that swing coming, and rather than block it, she darts forward and around the creature, sword snapping out as she passes. It's hard to tell whether or not the blade itself made contact, but a wind rushes in the wake of her slash, giving the air itself a cutting edge to pass through the center of the monster.

Dealing with just one at a time doesn't seem terribly dangerous... but it also doesn't seem terribly useful. With so many of them here, she'll need to do a lot more.

And that's why she charges toward a small pack of several of them, slashing at the air with Kusanagi. The vacuum wave it sends out is as sharp as her sword, but at a distance it has less cutting power. Still, she's hoping it's enough to get their attention on her, rather than on the civilians and buildings.
Lyner Barsett      ....... ..... ...

Actually, this might be the first time Lyner has actually seen Mir's Song Magic. As an ally and not as an enemy in a battle to save the world and some fool from ending everything.

     It'ss *odd*

It looks so evil! Look! Look at it! A huge black eye spewing death lasers from above onto these mysterious creatures from beyond. It's like something out of a bad alien movie. ...Wait, crap.

No time to waste gawking at Mir's dubiously evil looking magic though. "WHOA!" Because there he goes, ducking under a swing that would have taken his head off, only to then be obliterated by a blast of worryingly evil-looking Reyvateil magic with an assist from robot dog lasers. But he scrambles back to his feet and does his job, diving back in and hacking and slashing. Desperately keeping the attention of the alien entities on them and not on innocents and non-combatants. Because that would be bad.

Kazusa meanwhile seems to wise up to the technique of the Servant whose power she was borrowing, to great effect. In a furious dance that mixes grace and deadliness all the same, the gold and silver creatures are swept up, slashed apart as limbs are lost and slashing swings are woven through. But while she handles those melee ranged opponents, the ones charging their energy up finish. And then Kazusa has a new problem to deal with. Two pairs of twin energy blasts, for a count of four, are unleashed, and they hurtle towards her in a raging blaze of luminous green.

Deelel and Ayla work together, with Phonon and Sonnet skating all about to rescue people from any close shaves and carry them off. Ayla herself stands back and joins the church knights with the evacuees and she starts to sing. Not a song of despair and death like she once had, but a song of healing and life. She lets the hymmnos flow free, and her words emanate into soothing, healing might that works over the immediate injuries of all congregated. She keeps this up for any that Deelel and her robot servants bring back. Made easier by the hase spells that she casts

Yuna is doing a valiant job holding the lion's share of these things back from completely razing Karulu village uncontested. But these things are numerous and fairly powerful. There's only so long she can hold out just defending, as blast after blast, attack after attack strikes her shielding.

Yuna seems to realize this as she finally opens up an offensive. The lightning sword is formed and she lets loose carefully aimed strikes and parries, slicing through various metallic creatures, while turning others aside. It certainly does a whole lot to help keep her defenses up a little longer. But those creatures do attempt to dive in and strike at her when she attacks as well. As if they're intelligent enough to spot openings. ...Are they?

Saber is certainly more than a match for a single one of these. Which is why after she finishes the thing off with a slicing edge of wind down the very center of it, letting it fall into a split heap; several gang up her on her. Charging only to be met with waves of cutting air. It does the job of keeping them busy at least, rather than focusing on the civilians and buildings.

But while this all goes on, something changes.

There's a sudden lull in the battle as the various entities fall silent from their rampage. The reason for this is apparent soon enough. From up in the sky, a terribly massive golden shape descends, in the shape of a serpent like dragon. It could land upon the village all on it's own and crush it if it wanted it. ...But it doesn't.

From atop it, a figure steps out into view.

A short girl, garbed in purples and neon greens. Her hair is pink, with most of it covering her left side of her face, and a huge pink cowlick raised above. She glares down at the village expanse with a single visible green eye. "...... ......" Her gaze scans across everyone present. Lyner, Radolf, Yuna in El-line, Master and Servant, Mir, Deelel, Ayla and her robots...

     Then she speaks.
Lyner Barsett      Then she speaks. Her voice is childish to match her appearance, but it echoes out. It booms like a megaphone that could allow the entire continent to hear. And perhaps they can.

"Hear me, people of Sol Ciel." She speaks in an irritated, and very much displeased tone. "We've given you all the time in the world, and in that time... you've done nothing but fight, fight, fight, and fight."

That expression of her's becomes a grin then. "So we've come to a decision." An arm is extended, and she points out to the rest of the continent behind everyone. "Humans, Reyvateil, animals, the land... All of it is no longer necessary."

The girl lowers her arm, grin falling into a plain, mildly irritated look.

"You failed the test. But that's no surprise... Humanity was doomed from the very start."
Jakuri     "I'll necessary your arrogant face!" Jakuri snaps, thundering back. "You call THAT a test? What did you seek to test? Whether people would lay down their lives and simply let you carry out whatever twisted plans your pink-haired, surf-board-bodied self wants to throw at us? You seriously think creatures would give up their sense of self-preservation? What are you, STUPID?" And then Mir points at Lyner. "He's stupid. Like, seriously. You're on a whole new level below THAT, if you think your rhetoric and failed logic will work. Humanity isn't doomed! It's existed a lot longer than you, pipsqueek!" Wait Mir, no. Don't taunt the villain, that's silly. MIR NO WHY ARE YOU SINGING SO LOUD? MIR WHY IS THERE A BIG BLUE LIGHT SLOWLY GROWING IN SIZE FROM FAR OFF...?
Kazusa Ujikane     Kazusa Saber regards the ranged attackers with narrow eyes and a faint frown. There are a lot of ways she could react, and a lot of ways they could in turn respond to her reaction. She doesn't have Kaguya's battle experience; but she has some of her own, and she has creativity besides. If she can do the one thing they don't expect, she can guarantee a hit.

So Kazusa lunges /between/ two of the blasts. They scorch her in passing. But the things that just fired on her are wide open.

She doesn't hesitate to take advantage.

But someone else has arrived, someone in a position of authority and speaking condemnations. There are several seconds of silence, in which the faux-Kaguya's eyes narrow, and outrage spreads across her face.

"You come here, after laying waste to a village of innocent, peaceful people, and condemn us for violence. You come here, after killing and slaughtering those who have done nothing wrong, and look down your nose at us for fighting. While I stand here, and behind me stands a reyvateil whose life I have risked my own to save - despite that her death would have removed a threat to countless lives? While I stand here having risked everything to make sure that she could have her happy ending, while she stands here having been accepted by the people, while all of us have had a peaceful day disrupted by your... whatever these are," she gestures with her sword, "Arriving to shatter their lives?"

The Honjou Masamune returns to its sheath. In its place, she draws Kusanagi, now mirroring her Servant in yet one more way, and points it at the girl. "Every word you speak drips with hypocrisy. I condemn you in turn as a blood-splattered barbarian. I'd suggest you leave, now. And perhaps come back when you're willing to display the ideal you /claim/ to represent, instead of embodying the flaws you condemn."
Deelel Deelel is working hard and soon there's a bit more order here as others start to sing. She understands the power of music and here? The world more or less runs on it. She can only again be aweed even in her by human standards? Extream old age be awed as a kid over it but she keeps moving she'll have to review the memories later when she's not in actual danger. She also finds herself being effected and is quite thankful to Ayla for the help. She busy working as the battle rages but then someone else comes another girl and what she says for a moment as she stares at their words. She halts for a moment staring.

"..."

She isn't sure what to say for a moment.

"Get Glitched."

Is about the only thing she can think of to say and those who know her? That's pretty much paint peeling level curing for a Basic.

She now summons her Keyblade Dual Diac and starts to focys on more magic of her own she's moving to attempt to start putting protect and shell on the nearst of the peple that she can it's not much but it'sbetter than nothing.

"Your the one being violent here. The Humans of this world tend to be quite peaceful."

Well in the current era Deelel doesn't know much abotu the past but does think it's far more peaceful than the average world she's found in the Multiverse.
Moonlit Saber Well, that certainly got their attention. Saber didn't really think too many steps ahead, though. Her plan began and ended with making sure those things didn't hurt any innocents. She knew that she was a lt more durable than they were... and also more so than the houses.

As several of them charge at once, Saber doesn't halt her charge. Some claws manage to find purchase, slicing through her kimono in places and occasionally drawing blood on exposed arms. But she doesn't stop, waiting for just the right moment before unleasihng another blast of wind to keep them away.

And then a cute girl arrives! Saber has enough clearange after the wind blast to glance up, though what the new arrival says has her blinking in confusion. "Nobody here was fighting until your creatures came. And most of us are not of Sol Ciel." She pauses, considering. "Also, I am not human." She doesn't have quite the strong sense of justice that Kazusa does, but her Master's rant does bring a slight smile to her face. "Mmm... If your complaint is about fighting, then come down peacefully, send these creatures away, and we can talk. If not, then you have no right to judge anyone here."
Yuna Kagurazaka The battle gets paused at JUST about the last moment - one more strike could have penetrated El-Line's defenses, and then, well ... it's not just the village that would have been helpless. Not that you'd necessarily know from looking at the Matrix Figure: its armor is scorched and occasionally cracked, with rare eruptions of sparks, but the normally-gleaming super robot has lost a lot of its luster as the monsters' strikes added up.

But even the near-depletion of her powers doesn't stop Yuna from glaring at the girl on the dragon-shaped construct. "How was anyone of this world to know that they were being tested?!" Yuna calls out. "And who are you to decide who or what is 'necessary' upon this world?! What did you *expect* any of us to do, be we of this world or of others, when a peaceful village came under attack by these constructs?!"
Lyner Barsett      The girl atop the gigantic metallic dragon peers down at Mir, and she quirks a brow. "....Surf...board?" Her eye narrows at that. "..... ...." More silence, and then that eye closes. "If you thought /this/ was the test, then you're the stupid one." She opens up her eye again and a pitying sort of smile forms. "Or what? Did you want to try and craft another song about how much you love people and everyone should get along?" She shrugs. "That went so well for you the last time you tried, didn't it?"

Her arms lower. "No, this isn't the test. The test was failed long ago. This here is the cleansing." And that answers both Deelel and Kazusa's points immediately enough. Not that it doesn't erase the hypocracy of her actions whatsoever. But the pink haired girl doesn't seem to give a crap regardless.

But Kazusa does make a good point. Not too long ago, they prevented a threat to Sol Ciel from carrying through with the plans of her creator. All without harming her. In a miraculous display that shouldn't have come to pass. She should have just been killed and that would have been it, but they chose not to do it. They chose to save her. To reach out to her. And in the song that was sung then, all of Sol Ciel reached out with Misha and Kazusa that time. Lyner nods in agreement. Because he was there. He saw it all happen. He risked his life to make sure it happened.

From way back over with the evacuees, Ayla listens and she brings hands to her mouth. Her eyes water at the words spoken of her. "...Kazusa..." It still moves her to this day, to know that people wanted to save her. A broken Reyvateil on the edge of death, and with the desire to bring ruin to the first tower as per her creator's rage filled wishes.

The girl above smirks at the statements being tossed at her. "What these are..." She spreads her arms. "They are Ar Ciel's will." It's a vague answer, but she's being entirely truthful when she answers Yuna. But she doesn't spend anymore time talking. Instead, her gaze falls upon Mir.

     MEANWHILE

"Uh, Mir?" Lyner asks hesitantly after listening to the girl atop the dragon and frowning quite a bit. He'd have something to say about being called stupid, but...they're kinda busy right now! And more importantly... "Mir, no. Why are you singing?" He raises a hand in a futile gesture to stop her. "Hey wait, no! Don't sing louder! Come on, don't form that giant cloud of lasers! Wait, wait, don't start aiming them! No, Mir come on! Don't fire the-"

     FSHEEEEEW!

     And there they go.

The pink haired figure takes a step back. "Dainsleif." At that, the dragon she's riding open's it's maw wide, revealing an abyss of inky blackness, lines of green energy running all through the darkness. "Destroy." At that order, suddenly, there's a surge of power, and then a blazing, searing green force blasts out of the alien dragon's mouth, and hurtles downwards, crashing right into Mir's lasers, pushing downwards, downwards, downwards... "Oh crap." Lyner hisses and then immediately, he's in front of the dark haired Reyvateil, taking a defensive stance.

And everything goes white as the ground is rocked from the force.

Once the struggle of opposing energies ends between the two, and the light fades, Lyner is left barely standing, having shielded Mir like a proper vanguard. "Haha...haha....remind me... never to do that again." Plop. Down he goes. Oops.

The girl in the sky closes her eyes. "Enough. I've done my job." She smiles and gestures out to Sol Ciel at large. "The cleansing is already underway." In the distance, there are several other bursts of light and a quake follows. "How long can you resist the inevitable? We'll find out soon enough."

And with that, she calls off the gold and silver creatures, and rides off in her dragon, sailing into the skies beyond the continent.
Jakuri     Well. That didn't go according to plan. So busy singing is she that she doesn't even have time to formulate some sharp-witted quip in retaliation for the insults thrown at her... And then when the light clears and the girl disappears, Mir is left with a choice. Pursue the pain-in-the-ass pink-hair... Or... Lyner hits the dirt, but his head falls into Mir's lap as she somehow slides to a thumping seat a split-second before he collapses. Gloved hands hold either side of his head for a moment as she leans down to look at him with a frooown. A frown that falters as she ends up hugging his head instead. Oh god! Emotion! Mir is showing emotion...! And ELMA is standing guard as doombunnies continue to mop up whatever other things are nearby, along with everyone else.
"You stupid...!" comes the muttering huffs from the Beta Reyvateil, cheek pressed into his hair. "Why did you *do* that? You better be okay, or i'll kick your butt!" It's hard to sound fierce when you're trying not to cry.
Kazusa Ujikane     All of it happens too fast to stop.

Kazusa is halfway to unleashing Kusanagi already. She's never drawn on the full power of a Noble Phantasm while transformed before, but in this moment, she's willing. But it happens too fast. Lyner eats a hard hit. A faint grimace passes over her face.

The girl is leaving, but the card-user calls out before she can go entirely. "You haven't done your job until you've cleansed yourself. You're no better than you accuse any of us." She turns to look out into the distance at the other bursts of light, but then rushes over to Ayla. "Are you alright?" No concern for herself, it seems.

One could possibly blame Saber's influence for that... but then again, Kazusa's kind of like that herself.
Yuna Kagurazaka Her allies are being directly assaulted again - the 'dragon,' Dainsleif might be its name, is 'breathing' a massive attack at Mir.

Okay, so Mir was revving up her own massive attack and Yuna can't say that she doesn't have a counterattack of some kind coming. If you swing at somebody, don't be all shocked if they swing back, it's still the first attacker's fault that a fight started. But Mir is still Yuna's friend, and so is Lyner -

And El-Line won't move. Not far enough, and absolutely not fast enough.

So all Yuna can really do at this point is watch, and pray. By the time her prayers are answered - Mir is still alive enough to bitch Lyner out, which is a good sign, and Lyner's alive enough to chide himself before toppling over (and doesn't look dead from it) - their attacker, and the other beings, are gone.

"I like this world 'dirty,'" is all Yuna can think to say ... and then the Matrix Figure dissolves. The massive form turns into light - faceted and crystalline, if you were to look at the standing field of energy while it lasts - and then comes apart, with chunks of it shrinking and resolving back into the shapes of Jiina of the Earth, Marina of the Sea, Erina of the Sky, and Elner of Wisdom, the construct members of the Matrix of Light regaining their usual forms as Yuna flops into the dirt. Possibly rather scorched dirt, but dirt. Rather than just lying there, Yuna curls up briefly into a tight fetal ball; there's a piece of her that doesn't WANT to get up, but after a few moments, she does start getting back to her feet, never mind how exhausted and enervated she is.

"Who's hurt ... and did anyone die ... ?"
Moonlit Saber The feeling of Kusanagi in action is one that Saber knows well... and as she feels Kazusa beginning to draw on more of the power of the copied sword, her attention is drawn that way. She is... honestly not sure what would happen if Kazusa unleashes the blade's full power. Not even Saber can do that, though she can come close.

It turns out, though, that today is not the day she's going to have to worry about it. As both the girl and the creatures vanish, Saber lowers her blade. "Is everyone...?"

...well, no, it seems that someone was hurt quite a bit more than the others. Saber frowns slightly, but doesn't crowd close, not wanting to smother the poor boy. "He appears to be breathing... but we should call for treatment right away." And with that, she turns away from Lyner and Jakuri to give the two a bit more privacy.

Besides, there is other work that must be done. Saber gently moves Kusanagi through the air, and any nearby flames from the houses damaged by beams are drawn off the buildings and toward the sword. A quick snap of the blade, and she resheathes it, causing the flames to dissipate.
Lyner Barsett      "...Ow-" Lyner mumbles after Mir hugs his head a little too tightly. "M'alive..." He murmurs, raising an arm ever so slowly. "Everything hurts, but m'alive... I think." He thinks. Maybe he should check to make sure. Oh well, the idiot will be find with some rest and healing. Now, then on to the rest of the village...

Meanwhile, Ayla blinks at Kazusa's approach and smiles. "I'm fine. I stayed back and did what little I could." Phonon and Sonnet touch down nearby, the twin robots leaving combat mode after a threat assessment, and returning to maid form. "-Thank you, Kazusa." The dark skinned Reyvateil says lightly. "I... really appreciate it." She still feels incredibly guilty for what she almost did. Giving up, and trying to take everything with her. She hasn't forgotten for a single moment.

Radolf walks up, looking worse for the wear, but still alive. As Yuna asks who's alive, the bishop smiles and shakes his head. "Good news; Casualities were kept to a minimum, and we've managed to evacuate most everyone." He frowns up at the sky. "Those things... This is far from over." He looks at Yuna. Then over to Saber and Kazusa, Deelel having helped shield the civilians, Mir and Lyner who's being bitched at... yep. Everything's fine. "If what the girl said is true, we've got a lot more work ahead of us." Pause, then he adds, "And a lot to figure out."

But there's not much more left to do here. "My men will stay escort the people of the village to the next town over." He looks off at all the property damage and fires. "Some of us will have to stay and put all of this out. But please, get some rest, all of you. We have this handled." So says the ever righteous white knight of the church.

"Besides, I'm more worried about what's happening out there right now."

But they can't be everywhere at once. They'll just have to see what comes of things when they get to it.
Kazusa Ujikane     The currently-silver-haired Kazusa gives Ayla a small smile, and a nod. "You were worth it." She turns, though, and looks out at the horizon again. "...But if you really want to repay me, don't pay it back. Pay it forward. A lot of people are going to need help."
Deelel Deelel has contiuned with helping peopel get clear not too long agoa they did help save this world from a fair bit of trouble Ayla is prove they could make the world better without needing to restort to taking out the source of it with violence even if there was fighting along the way. She takes a moment and she knows there's a lot to worry about soon the girl is gone an speking of full on genocide.

"Genoide..."

She thinks back to the annhilation of the ISOs, and shudders inwardly she does not wnat Lyner or anyone formt his world to live through horror like that.

She can't add much more to what Kazusa had to say either and Moon Lite Saber gets a notioce from her she's not sure what to amke of her.

"Look you need help with this, I'm in."
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna lets out a deep breath, seemingly deeper than her body could hold, and rubs her face. "I'm ...."

I'm too weak. I'm too tired. I can't do this.

I have to.

"I need some time to recover from that beating - I won't be able to fight again without a chance to rest and recuperate - but once I've done that, I'll do what I can to help," she says to Radolf. "Who didn't get to safety?"

Because the way he worded it makes it clear as day to her, somebody DIDN'T make it to safety in time. Maybe there wasn't anything more they - or she - could have done, but that's not going to stop her from asking, from trying to know. Even if all she can do is say a prayer at some church, temple, or shrine for the souls of those who were lost, she can do *that* much.
Lyner Barsett      "...... ......"

Radolf is silent at Yuna's one, burning question. He stares her in the eyes briefly. And then...

He just lightly claps a hand on her shoulder.

"Get some rest. You did good."

And he moves past her. He seems to get the feeling that the matter is best left unsaid. At least for the girl's current mental state. He doesn't look back, and instead, walks off to go assist his men with the fires and rooting through wreckage.

Ayla meanwhile smiles and Kazusa, though still guilty looking.

     "I'll try. I promise."
