Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli was drinking a 'milk shake'. She was not sure what made it so special. She had made it herself, though! She'd gotten a carton of milk(she was getting better at this 'paying for things' thing.) and shaken it herself. It had made a bit of a mess, but it still tasted fine.

Alas, she could not get it to be as thick as the one Steven had had. Oh well. It was cold and it tickled her insides when she drank it, so it was still fun. She could not imagine why Pearl was so adamant about not intaking human sustenance. It was so fun the way it felt inside your body.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace stands out from the crowd. But... she kind of stands out from every crowd. Currently, the giant mouse is towering over a streetside hot-dog vendor, ordering herself some food. The big mouse is, as yet, unaware that there's any other Elites in the area.
She's getting a few stares - a couple of skater-type kids mention that they've seen her on a syndicated version of Jackass from her world, but beyond that, an eight foot mouse is a sight that generally causes a stir.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli heard some of the stirring and... soon made her way towards it, drinking her 'shake'. By this point, the people were probably getting a bit used to the strange multi-cerse happenings. Of course Ronaldo was already talking about how his 'mice people from mars' theory was totally right. And promptly being ignored.

Lapis walked up behind the much larger, towering creature and stared up at her. She looked her up and down and... "Hello! I am Lapis Lazuli, a lapis lazuli. Are you a member of the multiverse? Or are you a different alien from another world?" she asked with a big grin. Trying to be friendly.

Honestly, it probably looked oddly similar to a blue bean sprout chatting up a great white oak.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace blinks down and Lapis, smiling. She crouches down so she's at a little more of a convenient height for talking. "Both, actually." She answers cheerfuly. "I'm from Mars, but not the Mars that shares the solar system with this particualr Earth. My name's Leyanne Mace, I'm a Gunnery Sergeant in the Martian Freedom Fighters... we're going to have to think up a new name soon... but you can call me Tiny."
She takes a bite from her hot-dog happily. Her antennae are constantly in motion, seeming to track sounds, smells, and any particularly loud sources of radio noise.
Lapis Lazuli "Ha, I knew it!" Ronaldo yelled. And then let out a yelp when Lapis turned her glare on him. The theorist turned and high tailed it out of there before the blue gem could unleash her annoyance.

She then stared up at the girl. "OH! I get it! You are called Tiny because you are massive, yes? I have heard that joking type of name many times! You may call me Red, if you so like!" she said happily. "Because I am blue, yes?" ... Yeah, she was definitely not from earth, either. "Oh? You are from Mars? Well, from A mars? I have always liked that planet. It is dusty and gets into everything, but it is quiet and warmer than many of the other planets in this system. It does not have the issues with weather, either."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "Yeah it's an ironic nickname. Back in boot-camp there was quite a lot of debate over what my callsign was going to be... the other option was Low Bridge, 'cause I keep bashing my head on door frames." She laughs. "Mars has some pretty interesting weather of its own. Some of the dust storms we get build up quite a lot of electric charge, not to mention the dust - like you said it gets into everything, and when it's in the air in a dust storm that includes lungs too... really not good for the average lifeform."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Oh, there is no need to worry. I do not have lungs with which to fill with dust! And when I do get caught in such storms, I will often just close my orifices or attempt to fly away and leave the planet. Dust storms are the most annoying thing. I was once popped in one. It was very unpleasant and a very uncomfortable ride," she mumbled, shaking her head.

"And yes, the irony is quite humorous and not at all because you are made of the metal, right?" she asked with a big grin. Then looked confused. "But... you are made of metal. Would that make you... more ironic?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "I can't imagine being 'popped' would be very pleasant, even if it is more survivabe for you than it would be for me." She agrees. "I wasn't made of metal during my time in boot-camp; I was as flesh and blood as any other Martian. All the metal's in me to hold me together and replace bits of me that aren't there anymore."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Really? You can just replace pieces of you that are gone? That seems unpleasant. But I suppose it is better than being dead." She then held out the carton of milk. "Would you like some milk shake? I have shaken it myself!" she said proudly.

The hot dog vendor looked like he was about to say something, paused, glanced to Lapis, shook his head and just held out her hot dog.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace takes the hot-dog with a chuckle. "We can. If we can replace the missing or broken bits before the rest of the body shuts down. Really it's pretty amazing what the techs at Arkadyne can do nowadays - I shouldn't be alive, but they rebuilt me pretty hardcore." She takes her hotdog in her left hand, the augmentic bending strangely to take it. "I wouldn't call it unpleasant, not once you've gotten used to the replacements. Really I've been upgraded above and beyond the capabilities of my species."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Ohhhh. Really, you can do that? Your species must be very human like then! I have seen so many humans do so many things their rather pathetic bodies should not be able to do!"

"Hey!"

"Hey to you as well!" she said chipperly, just leaving the person confused. "Gems cannot do that. We have very strict limits on what we can do without damaging ourselves," she said with a big smile. "I would love to know more about you and your strange people. Are they all fuzzy?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "Humans aren't that bad. They might not be physically tough, but you'll be hard-pressed to find a better long-distance runner than a human. You'll find faster runners for sure, but a well-trained human in good physical condition can run fairly continuously at a decent pace for a good eight to ten hours, sometimes longer. A Martian would die of exhaustion after five or six." She smiles, nodding. "We're all mice, though, yeah. All different colours and sizes - I'm about as tall as we get."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked a few times. "Being able to run for ten hours is considered... oh! Your species requires sleep as well?" she said, finally picking up on it. "Oh? You come in different colors as well? Humans are sadly so one colored. Sometimes two. It is quite strange," she gave a nod. "But they are so amazing! they have such strange customs!"

Her grin widened. "Are you aware of these things call holly-days? They are quite wonderful and a delight! sometimes they even give people things like gifts! Which is another weird thing!"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "If you're not used to it I can imagine it being strange, but... we Martians have absorbed a lot of Earth culture. We're very similar in a lot of respects." She chuckles. "So what are /you/ miss Lapis?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked a few times. "I am a lapis lazuli. A gem from home world." So original. She grins up at the girl. "It is a very different world! But Steven has shown me so many different things and is quite an amazing person! He is the wonderful and possibly the best gem I have ever met."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace listens, looking around and finding a place to listen to the Gem. "Okay that's cool, so what are Gems? Logic says you're something to do with precious gemstones right?" In the listening space the mouse devours her hot-dog
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked and then turned her back, revealing the gemstone on her back. "We are gems. This body you see is a hard light construct created through my power. It is, unfortunately, not real. But it allows me to do many things that normal bodies cannot. For now, I am learning how to 'eat'," she said, turning and grinning before drinking her shake. "The liquids are my favorite. They tickle inside me!"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace blinks a little in surprise and curiosity "Oh, wow... I've seen something similar actually. Have you ever met a Program before? They're data from the inside of a computer, given a sorta hard-light body. It's really interesting. So you Gems, I take it you can fly and stuff like that?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Yes. I can, at least. Not all gems can. But my manipulation of water allows me to create wings so I may travel through space," she said matter of factly. She then nodded. "Programs? Of course. Gems are a space faring species, we've had computers and far more advanced technology than earth for long before I was even made. Though we never developed things like 'tv' or 'entertainment' like they have."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "I'm sorry I had to make sure y'know? This is the multiverse. Never know if the dude you meet in the street's going back to a medieval city or a towering station in space at the end of the day, I love it." She grins. "Y'know if it wasn't for the human desire for TV and entertainment my people would never have made it? We learnt half of what we needed about guerilla warfare from Earthling TV shows, it helped us resist the Plutukarian AND Catatonian invasions of our world. It also let us know that there was somewhere out there we might find friends - a safe place to run and to hide things."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded, looking confused. "The... plutukarians? Catatonians? Oh! Are they dog and cat people?" she asked with a big grin. "I have seen the dog known as pluto! He is quite interesting and sometimes silly!" she said with another big grin.

Then frowned. "An invasive species, then? Us... gems are that way. We go from world to world, harvesting it to make more of our kind and other resources. So now... we protect this world from them."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "Fish people and cat people, actualy. Most of 'em are just soldiers doing their thing but unfortunatey in some societies the scum floats to the top with the gold and assholes end up in power... woah so you stand up to your own kind to do what's right? Massive props to you, that takes courage."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli shakes her head. "Oh, no. I do it only because they would harm Steven otherwise. And... I will not allow that," she said a bit coldly. "But, in most aspects, I would merely take Steven and flee. The crystal gems do the majority of the opposition of homeworld. I merely add my abilities when they require it. Which is very rarely."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "Everyone has their reasons for doing what they do, I respect that. I don't think Steven would like it very much... you call Steven a gem, but Steve's a human name. He'd be a gem-human hybrid, right? At a guess with knowing humans how I do, they won't like leaving their home behind. If y'don't mind me asking what's the big deal about him?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli stared at her. "He rescued me," she said matter of factly. "He... saved me. And listened to me. When I had given up hope and thought I would be trapped forever. Even when the others... refused to help me..." Her hands clenched and she actually looked a little angry. If the girl looked to the beach, she might notice the waves raising higher.

"They left me trapped in that mirror for six thousand years. But in one day. /one day/. He freed me. Even when they tried to stop him. I will /destroy/ anything that ever tries to harm so much as one hair on his wonderful, precious head..."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods as she listens. She doesn't glance at the waves but an ear does pivot to listen to the louder rushing. "Woah, that sucks. I'd be pretty protective of someone who freed me after that sort of confinement too. That's... that's pretty hard on someone. Long-term solitary isn't good for people. If you're gonna lock someone up for that long at least /talk/ to them and give them some reasonable contact." Leyanne frowns, seemingly annoyed about it too. "Though that does sound just right for a lot of humans"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "They... claim they didn't know I was trapped there. That it was just... that they thought I was just a mirror. A... part of me believes them. Another part of me wishes to destroy them and everything about them. But I am... coping. And learning. And I have learned to live besides these humans. I have even entered a romance with a miss Luna! She is as awful a person as I am."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace smiles softly. "You got to be careful about that. I hear once you start living with them you'll start liking them and that's when the real problems start." She smiles. "I wish you luck in love. Everyone deserves a shot at bein' happy."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Yes. I have grown to be relatively... fond of Pearl. It has caused me nothing but problems. She was an awful jailor but I suppose I am... learning to forgive her. I suppose stupidity and... accidental neglect is less bad that... intentional harm."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods in agreement. "Yeah I know what you mean. It sucks to be on the wrong end of it, either way. But if there's no malice it's easier to forgive and move on. Never good to let that sort of thing stew though... I seen a lot of good people do bad things because bad things have been done to them. It creates a cycle, y'know?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "I suppose. I have often considered entrapping her. Breaking her body and encasing her gem in ice for a thousand years. But..." She frowned and then shook her head. "I... would not. It would make Steven unhappy. And it would make me unhappy..." She stared at the ground, before glancing to her. "tell me of yourself. What is your home like?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace smiles a little. "You'd regret it. And you'd know you did it deliberatey, that way leads to a place that's not fun for anyone. It takes quite a lot to make that jump, way too many people get stuck at the considering stage..." And the subject is changed to a happier one. Leyanne is all too pleased to accept. "Mars? Well... My Mars is undergoing some changes. Most of the atmosphere is frozen at the poles - so the air is pretty thin. But there are cities, little vibrant cities, some of them under the surface, some of them under domes on the CO2 ice. I'm from Polar City, on the south rotational pole of Mars. It's under a dome, so we get sunlight. Our planetary sports seem to be motorcyle racing of all kinds, and baseball. Most of our highways are pressurised, most of them underground but we've got a few in glass tubes. Oh and there's a terraforming project going on at the north pole... in about two hundred years Mars will have an atmosphere as thick as Earth's, and about fifty years after that, it'll be Earthlike"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded, grinning. "Only two hundred years? That doesn't sound very long at all! Are you excited for when it will happen?" she asked. Then paused. "Wait, how long does your species live? I sometimes forget that many creatures don't..." She trailed off, then shrugged. "As long as your world is a safe place, I suppose that is what is most important, yes?" she asked with another smile.

"So your world and earth of your dimension are very good friends then, yes? It is good that your two species have come to such lengths together!"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "If I live that long I'll be ancient, for my kind. But I'm proud to have been part of those who made it happen... Mars is safe, I helped free her. When there are two blue marbles in the Sol system, we'll be remembered. And maybe if I'm lucky they'll just keep replacing bits of me so I live long enough to see it." She laughs. "There are still Catatonian forces on Mars... but we've ground them to a stalemate. To the point where we're officially recognised as a Martian nation... and now it's arguing and wrangling... all we've got to do is convince the Catatonians they're more Martian than Catatonian... and even if they're not under the same government as us, Mars is free because it's Martians in control."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded, crossing her arms. "That seems... strange to me. But if you do not wish to completely eliminate them and everything about them, I understand. I have found that many humans prefer the joining with their enemies method over total destruction. Gems... don't do that. But I am finding that the gems may do many things wrong," she said with a shake of her head.

"Oh, yes! Replacing your body and living sounds wonderful! Perhaps you can regrow things as well!"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace shrugs "It's a simple matter of logistics. We can't push them completely off Mars, they can't push us off Mars... if we don't talk to eachother we'll be fighting until the sun goes out." She smiles. "The Gem way might've been the right way, at some point in time. But it's always the wrong way if you don't move with the times, y'know? It's not the Martian or the Catatonian way to talk to those we hate, but... we're both learning how to do it, and when we do finally learn it Mars will be stronger." She grins. "Regrow? Nah, sadly we don't regenerate. That's part of why we're so good at augmentics." As she speaks, she motions to her cyberntic arm and eye. "We learned the art out of neccessity, keeping people in the fight. Then we refined it to an art."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "I see. Peridot has something similar. Her body is very tiny, so she has mechanical limbs. However, she lacks many of the powers of a gem, so the augments are more to fix that, I believe." She paused for a moment. "She is quite tiny. Almost like a ruby or a saphire." She then gave a giggle at her joke.

"Can you remake any part of your body?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "Most of it, if we get there in time. There's certain parts of the brain it's not a good idea to replace unless you don't have a choice, and there are quite a few parts that the body can't do without for very long, but yeah most of the body can be replaced, one way or another." A thoughtful pause. "Of course, there are some disadvantages. I don't have any sense of touch on large parts of the arm, for example"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked a few times. "No sense of touch? That sounds annoying. Is it like 'going numb'? I have heard of this! It seems to be quite a strange, but interesting phenomenon! Humans are so interesting with their strange medical issues," she said with a grin. "And your organs! Having so many organs. I cannot imagine what it would be like to have so many things that can go wrong with one's body."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace chuckles "It's a bit of a drag, yeah." She indicates the large areas of outer casing on her forearm and upper arm "Here I've got only basic pressure response to let me know if there's anything in contact with it but it's not full touch. It's hard to make sensors that small, but with every new model they get better, so maybe in twenty or thirty years I'll have full-limb sensory feedback again... that'll take some getting used to." She laughs. "But for now they concentrate the sensors in the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, so the body's natural kinematic sense knows what the limb is doing."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "I see. Wow. That is so strange." And then proceeded to poke her arm. Repeatedly. "So you are aware I am poking you, but are not aware of the exact location? That must be so strange! Your body is truly a weird and unique thing." Poke poke poke. "If you were to have a leg chopped off, how long until you would have a new one? Would you still be able to walk?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace laughs "Most of my left leg is aready replaced." She rolls the leg of her jeans up to reveal the access panel in her thigh. "I got blown up, it was a land mine. I had a jet of semi-molten copper enter my leg about here." She indiates a third of the way along the access panel. "I was trying to bail off my bike at the time to try and avoid it, so the jet followed my thigh, went up through my torso and left the top of my head just behind my left eye... to be honest I should be dead. Not just dead but /really/ dead. But I was leading a medical convoy with thirty stasis tubes, and they got me in one. I woke up eighteen months later, half toaster-oven."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded, gasping. "Wait, truly? They create such augments out of toaster ovens? Truly your species is amazing! Does that mean you have the powers to heat up meats and other such things? Can you make pan cakes? I tried to make them in the toaster oven, but Pearl said it made a mess and banished me from ever using it again!"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace laughs "No no it's a saying, a metaphor... a joke on my part-robot nature. But that said I'm pretty good at cooking... better at making bikes, but I can get by."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded, looking disappointed. "Oh. So... you... cannot cook treats on your leg. That is very disappointing. But I suppose it would be very inconvenient. You'd get food in your joints."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "It would be. But that said I know a dude who made a robot that's got a toaster oven in its midsection."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked a few times, then perked up. "Oh, yes! that sounds wonderful! You could bake food items whereever you went! And you would never need to eat it, as it would already be inside you!' she said proudly, a big grin on her face. "Why do you not do such a thing?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace laughs "Because all the organs I need to live are in the way. I'm not completely robot... just under half by function, just over half by mass."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded, looking disappointed. "Oh. I see. That's... boring," she mumbled, before shrugging. "But I suppose that is what you are and is necessary. I... think I should go, however. My plans for the day have been fulfilled and I should return home. There is a new show I desire to watch. 'The tinier butler'. It is a sequel."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods "That's cool. I hope to see you again soon, and to meet Steven and everyone. Have a good day!"
