Genji Shimada     The Watch has many safehouses in the Multiverse, spread across many worlds, in many different kinds of environment. On the one hand, it would be fairly easy to take Devola and Popola somewhere out of the way, like a rural town, or a cabin on the edge of a forest, or any of a dozen other similarly-secluded places. But Genji's had the distinct sense that trust still hasn't been properly secured; somewhere isolated would probably be a bad idea. Taking them instead to a city safehouse would not only allow the duo to feel secure in having a lot of people nearby, but also serve to hide them in plain sight.

Of course, there's only one place Genji Shimada knows where people like Devola, Popola, and other members of the Watch wouldn't look out of place.

So it is that the door opens into a third-floor hotel suite that just happens to overlook a street in Harajuku, Tokyo. Having ditched the desert kit in favor of his more standard gear, Genji strides into the hotel room with a 24-pack of bottled water over his shoulder, green visor glowing as he steps into the room. "I am back. I bring water."
Devola and Popola Although Devola and Popola had been hesitant to follow anyone past the areas the new, the need to get rest and and recovery time was too much to ignore. Opting to follow the person with the lowest apparent percentage of actual human in him, the twins probably took a bit longer getting inside than Genji might have expected.

Mostly from gawking at all the different people around. Still, once they're inside, the twins would have wasted little time in securing the room: Checking for supplies, cameras, anything that might look like it could be used to monitor them. It's only when Genji returns that they even bother looking towards the door again.

"Oh! Welcome back. That's very much appreciated, thank you." Popola gets up off the bed to offer her sister a shoulder, all while smiling lightly towards Genji.
"Yeah, we might be able to use the..." Devola pauses, hobbling over to peer at the giant pack of bottles. "That's plastic alright. Not a long term replacement, but it'll do."
Genji Shimada     Genji's head tilts a little, curious. "The plastic? I just brought it because A2 said she runs off water. But as long as it's helpful, I suppose." He shifts the bottles off his shoulder and sets them down near the door, then steps further into the suite, headed for the mini-fridge. "How are the two of you holding up? A2 has appraised us of the state of your world, more or less. With humanity hiding out on the moon, I thought you might like to be among them and see their cities. If it's a problem, I apologize, but..." Fridge open, fridge closed, soft drink popped open. "At least we are safe here, for now. The owner of this building owes the Watch some very large favors."
Devola and Popola "... Oh, yeah. That could be useful, too. Can't exactly drag that around with us once we go." Devola jerks a thumb back at the bathroom, likely indicating the sink or shower.
"We're doing much better now. Everything's been cleaned, so all that's left is finding some spare parts to fix Devola's leg." Popola helps the curly-haired android back to the bed to let her take a seat, then moves to a window to peer at the people passing by below.

"You've mentioned that name a few times now. A2? Is she with the Resistance?" Devola's question still carries a tinge of wariness to it all, and Popola lets out an uncertain sigh before turning back to Genji.

"It's not a problem, no. It's... Just hard to believe that there's really humans out here. Aren't you worried about the machines attacking?"
Genji Shimada     "To be honest, she hasn't been very forthcoming with her own story just yet," Genji replies. "I'm sure she'll tell us when she's ready. But she is definitely a combat unit, so it's possible." The final question prompts a curious headturn from the shinobi; he might look fairly different from the previous day's desert excursion, but the mannerisms are quite the same. "We don't have those Machines out here. A few worlds may have something similar, but many never have them at all. There are worlds where technology capable of thinking for itself and acting independently is a distant fantasy. It's very odd, like that."
Devola and Popola "Hn. Doesn't really help us, then, but... Thanks for the heads up." Devola still sounds skeptical while she gets up to look out the window, swapping spots with Popola with a NEW AND IMPROVED bandaged leg. "A real combat unit, though... We shouldn't stay here too long, then."

Popola nods slowly, then turns back to Genji with a raised eyebrow. "Really? That's strange. I thought for sure..." She trails off for a moment, then shakes her head and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear with a thoughtful look on her face. "Things really are very different out here, then. How do you stay safe with so many different things that could go wrong?"
Genji Shimada     "Me personally, or humanity in general?" Genji replies, sounding amused. He sets his drink down for a moment, and then reaches behind his head; something is pressed, there's a hiss of air, and then the forehead plate of his visor lifts upward, while the mouthplate shifts forward and down. He lifts the latter away from his face entirely - revealing a face that is very human, but ringed with the metal of his helmet and cybernetics, and crisscrossed with scars. "For myself, I cannot say that I have done the best job of that my entire life. But I manage. Mostly by being a ninja."

Up comes the bottle, from which he takes a quick drink. "For humanity in general... thinking about all the things that /could/ go wrong would paralyze us. So we take precaution against the things most likely to go wrong. Burglar alarms in high-crime areas, seatbelts in our cars, roll cages on our unreasonably fast joy vehicles, that sort of thing. Of course, the 'most likely things to go wrong' change from world to world."
Devola and Popola Both twins turn to Genji at the sound of the hissing faceplate, watching him closely with a mixture of curiousity and mild wariness. They relax again once it's clear that he isn't a tiny machine riding a larger machine, even breathing simultaneous sighs of relief.

"Like in the stories from the past?" Popola asks while they both step closer to Genji, apparently satisfied enough with his not-being-a-machine to start looking over the helmet and his armor. "I didn't think there was even technology like this back then..."

"It's probably from his world, Popola. Like that really hairy one and..." Devola pauses. "... What about the one with the claws? Or the one with the key-shaped hammer? Are they from your world, too?"
Genji Shimada     "This is state-of-the-art, even in my world," Genji replies. His right hand currently holds the bottle of soda, but his left is free, and he holds it up illustratively. "This, is my only remaining organic limb. There is still flesh and blood under here. The rest, and much of my torso, are technological. My clan has existed since medieval times, but we live in an age of high technology now."

He lowers the drink and sets it aside, grinning faintly. "The tower of a man known as Reinhardt was the only other person there that hails from my world. Much as I could be called a modern relic of the Warring States, he would be a modern relic of the Age of Chivalry. You will not find a braver or more loyal man. The others, though, they're from worlds of their own. They could explain their own situations much better than I."
Devola and Popola So less machine, more cyborg?" Devola chimes in, shuffling back over to a bed and carefully faceplanting right into it. The bed creaks rather loudly in protest, although the way it buckles might be an indication of just how heavy the twins are rather than the bed's construction. "So that means... We might be able to do our jobs still."

"That could be it, sis." Popola nods slowly with a tap of a finger against her chin, listening intently as Genji describes himself and Reinhardt in the context of their histories, the fact that their allies from yesterday had been from other worlds as well... "It sounds so amazing. There's... Really a lot more out here than we could have ever seen on Earth. So many interesting things... And you're all part of this Watch?"
Genji Shimada     Rather than sit on the bed... or a chair... Genji carefully lowers himself to the ground on the strength of his legs alone, snagging his drink on the way down to idly pull at it while he speaks. "We are. A ragtag group of loners, weirdos and misfits who believe that people should be free of oppression. It is a dangerous, unglamorous life, but I think it is worth it. And you are right about that; there are a lot of amazing things out there to see." His drink finished, Genji sets the bottle aside. "So. Is there anything else either of you need? Anything to help speed your repairs along? We're in a place where I can walk around openly and all I'll get is complements on my costume."
Devola and Popola "Sounds like the Resistance, then." There's actually some distaste in Popola's voice at the mention of the name, but she quickly shifts back into the calmer tone after a nudge from Devola. "St.. Still, that's an admirable goal. As for help-"

"We'll be fine." Devola states abruptly, drawing a concerned look from Popola before the neater-haired one continues.

"... If you happen to find any circuitry or electrical parts out there, could you bring them back? We don't have much, but we can find ways to help you out. Maybe even... Outfit you with more gear down the line?"
Genji Shimada     "That would be very appreciated," Genji replies. "As for parts... I will see what I can do."
