Yang Xiao Long     The invite is made, and as promised, a Bullhead transport aircraft is waiting at the coordinates. It's a big, bulky thing, with tilt-engine jets on the wingtips and a big cargo hold with open side panel doors, forming ramps. It's sat on a tripod of landing gear, giving it a mildly insectoid look. The pilot remains in the cockpit, and speaks over the loudspeaker. "'bout time you lot showed up. Welcome to Nevermore Airlines, we aim to please. Load up and I'll get ya to Beacon faster than a Griffon flies." it's male, young sounding, but any attempts to get into the cockpit would prove fruitless, the door is sealed shut with a mechanical lock. The ride is rather uneventful, and once the doors open to ramps on the other end, the Beacon Tower and main courtyard of the academy would be a breathtaking sight to those not jaded, or those who haven't been here before.
Count Kord     Kord arrives to the coordinates, with a Murkrow on his shoulder. He looks almost as intimidating as, uh, one of the other people showing up for this tour. He makes no retort to the pilot's words, and his Murkrow squawks 'NEVERMORE!!!' so loud he flinches just enough to be noticeable. He reaches up to pet the bird as he walks into the aircraft and finds a seat, clasping his hands in his lap with his claw-tipped gauntlet fingers interlocked. His Murkrow seems more interested in the view than he is, constantly canting her head to get a better view through the windows.
Reaper "Your life is short enough; No reason to hurry it along."

Comes the growled, husked phrasing from - THE REAPER. The black cowled figure straight out of a 90's era 'villain' mag walks up the ramp to the bullhead, metal gauntlets flexing in perpetual annoyance. The sterile bone white mask of his twisting from one side to the other in a unsubtle review of what's inside. A slow, leisurely nod towards Count Kord before he finds a place in the back to brace his heavy boots out and press a clawed hand against the wall during mid-flight. Only losers use safety restraints and seats! The bird-horse-skull-shaped mask tilting slightly to watch the grounds pass..
And then the arrival. Mutely exiting the Bullhead, save for a faint hissing that might be breath. Or might just be him being forever ON THE EDGE. Crawling in his skin.
Eithne Sullivan     Eithne has been to Beacon before, but the sheer /scale/ of the place never fails to take her breath away. It's HUGE! Yang's invitation has come at a good time; she's been meaning to ask the brawler for a rematch. With everything that's getting ready to happen at home in Dun Realtai, she could certainly use a relaxing tour to stretch her legs and enjoy herself.

Sadly, there may be less relaxing than she'd planned, because Sheela won't stay home.

An adolescent crow perches on Eithne's shoulder, refusing any and all attempts to shoo him away. If removed, he just waits for her to look away and alights somewhere else. In the end, it's just easier to surrender. Maybe he's got important crow business at the school or something. "All right, all right, yeh can come with if yeh'll just behave--!" the Scion hisses at her pet, buckling in (and not-so-subtly peering at the Murkrow and the... death's head horse mask guy??). Sheela, meanwhile, preens and hops down into his mistress's lap.
Sombra     It's not so strange to see a rather colourful woman follow the dreary Reaper, now is there? Count Kord knows her from before, but the others might not. Unlike Reaper she's smiling, looking friendly enough, though with a bizarre partially shaved head, some weird gloves with /nails/ on them, and leggings that end in toed shoes... What a weird fashion sense. There's also the fact that she seems to have some weird stuff on her head, as well as a strange thing on her back with wires going from her back to her hands. Wordlessly she gets into the plane, takes a seat next to Reaper, and she puts on safety restraints while she inspects the other passengers, as well as the door leading to the cockpit. That's when she decides to talk.

"So Beacon, huh... I haven't been to school since I was a teenager myself," the latino woman says, smiling at the others. "Is it a new thing, having birds as pets?" she asks, pointing to Count Kord's Murkrow and the crow on Eithne's shoulders.
Nicky To Nicky, It is the first visit to the Beacon - or Vale at all. Standing in front, of it, she is dazzled by the sheer size, the decor... and then smiles widely as she realizes that this is probably a Jackpot full of things to steal. Closing in on the group gathering in front, she buries her hands in the pockets of her jacket, trying to figure out who of them might have something that might be worth a quick grab. But she takes her time, because, frankly, those are... armed No need to loose a hand or life.

Stopping just within range to listen to the people, the first thing she can hear is the talk of birds, and she snarks a moment. "Some people keep green floating jelly beans around as a pet."
Josuke Higashikata It seems weird, doesn't it? To SKIP school, only to go to another one. Regardless that's what Josuke is doing. There wasn't much longer for the day anyway. Though if his mother catches wind of it she's still going to ground him FOREVER. Well, that just means she needs to not find out, right? More seriously, Josuke is actually just concerned about the people here, after that monster attack. And he's also curious about this world, thanks to said monster attack. So he wants to come and see what's going on.

Josuke doesn't know if these are the same people who brought them out, so he doesn't mention that he was there at that last attack. He just greets brightly, "Hi there!" He's still dressed in his school uniform, as he came here directly from Budo-ga Oka. And in fact is, uh, still supposed to be there.

Birds and scary people and armors, oh my! But as they land and the school is revealed by the opening doors, Josuke's eyes go wide. "Whoaaaa," he breathes. He is indeed impressed; he hasn't ever seen a school quite like this before!
Yang Xiao Long     Yang isn't known for her stealth rating. she's tall, bright and loud, in all senses of the words, however, Nicky would find herself with a big blonge brawler looming behind her with a too-friendly smile. "Won't be any trouble here, will there?" she asks with a knuckle crack, before stepping past and to the others. "Besides, you're falling behind, c'mon."

Some people will know the bubbly blonde brawler, she gives a wave, then moves in for a hug to Eithne, but doesn't really recognize any others, save for the voices. "So, I'm Yang, and I'll be your tour guide. First we'll take a look at the class rooms, then we can work from there."
Count Kord     A subtle nod back to Reaper. Respect for respect. "It is not unusual to have a bird as a pet," Kord points out to Sombra on the way to Beacon, though this brings his attention to Eithne and her own clinging bird creature. He looks down at it with a vague interest, while his Murkrow cracks open her mouth, puffs up her feathers, in that brief moment where you KNOW she's going to make noise-- 'AAAAAAWWW, she shouts at the ordinary crow, even among the close proximity of everyone else in the plane.

It only happens the once, but it's enough to tap her Pokejewel and recall her into it with a flash of red light. Yeah, that's enough of that.

Kord, once off the plane and in place with everyone else, nods to Yang just the once. He silently waits to be lead around the Academy, the strange man in armor and a cape seeming pretty subdued. Heck, he doesn't even make footstep noises. He won't be intrusive, besides his consistent aura of creepiness.
Reaper The brood-meister escort of Sombra's - or is it visa versa today? - turns that white mask towards Nicky as she approaches. His arms crossing over his chest, as if all the wonders and majesty of the lush academy would bounce off his impenetrable cynicism.
Bet he only taps his foot to music too. Which is when Kord's crow-thing screams, drawing another, louder growl from the masked man - but no words.
That same hidden gaze is turned slightly upwards, examining the spire of Beacon Academy. And then regards each of the fellow 'tourists' in turn, a faint creak of metal gauntlets flexing He lets Sombra do the socializing, sterile bone mask turning towards Yang now as she approaches - before his arm shoots out. Sideways. A clawed gauntlet aimed towards the distant walls.

"What.." He begins, each word drawn painfully out of a snarl. ".. purpose do the high walls serve? You already have flying vehicles, and I saw no major roads on the journey.."
Eithne Sullivan     There're all sorts of people here, aren't there? Like that guy with the crazy... well, it's a school uniform, kinda...? But he gets a bright smile in return and a wave from the hand not currently trying to hold Sheela in place. Eithne grins when Sombra speaks up. See, the tall man might be 2spooky but his friend(?) is, well, friendly enough. "I didn't really choose him... more like he chose me." More like her mother chose him for her, but it's all semantics in the end. She's stuck with a sassy crow!

She doesn't look much like she has anything worth stealing - her most valuable-looking possession is a cheap charm bracelet on one wrist, though presumably she's got a phone of some kind. "Floating... what /fer/?" Eithne asks incredulously. It's probably for the best that Yang shows up about now, distracting her with a hug that gets enthusiastically returned. "Yang! Good to see yeh in the flesh again!" She means 'not on the radio'. "Sounds good!" With a little coaxing, she manages to get her pet out of her lap and back onto her shoulder. Is... is he trying to show off for that Murkrow?! LOOK, SHE RESPONDED, SHE LIKES HIM--- Sheela puffs up to reply, and possibly invite her out for lunch, when she is sucked back into the depths of a pokeball. /Aaaaawww./
Tomoe Tomoe was still taking classes here, uner the Alaise of Eisen Blumen or Iron Flower if you knew German but a few things had changed for her. She'd been working on catching up on local history classes. She also enjoyed of all things swapping stuff with her home world's history with the history professor here. However, she'd been looking for Yang and had heard somehing about some strangers even for here had turned up and she was going out to check out just what was up. So the redheaded and rather /short/ form of Eisen could be seen maming for the strnge though is that a sword across her back?

"Hey!"

She calls out seemingly cheerie for the moment, though Reaper, outfit remidns her a bit too much of Deathgun's but it's clearly not him. Thankfully and She seemed to think on the question he asked and Eithane gets a look just as Yang shows up.

"Yang! Sorry I haven't been around, my world's umm for lack of a better term caught fire recently."
Nicky Nicky freezes as suddenly the brawler appears behind her, cracking knuckles. Caught before doing anything?! Just play low, join the 'tour' girl, find a chance to strike later. This is not a payjob after all, no need to fight for it... and if there is no chance... maybe there will be one later.

"I'm not falling behind!" she claims, rustling up to follow, then looking to the walls. "Walls are to keep out burglars as well as prisoners and students in, isn't that obvious?"
Josuke Higashikata "Hi there, Miss Yang," Josuke offers, with a smile. His voice might be recognized, since he was one of those on the radio that day. He starts to follow Yang then, though he winces at the loud caw from Kord's Murkrow. Ouch! He doesn't comment though, that would be rude. He does however return the wave to Eithne, with that same bright smile.

He occupies himself with looking around, getting his bearings in case he gets lost. He's not particularly bad at navigating, but he's never been here before, so there's always a possibility. For now he doesn't have questions. Though more likely he just has too many to start asking! Let's not rapidfire interrogate their host, right?
Sombra     "Hmmm, is that so?" Sombra muses, tilting her head at Eithne. "They do say birds are really smart. Not to mention they seem sturdy." Birds might be the most useful pets in some cases, really. Her eyes glance to Kord. "I haven't met many people who've had crows, El Conde," she points out. "Most have cats, dogs or furry little creatures."

Upon arriving at the academy Sombra walks a bit in front of Reaper, also studying the high walls of the place. Though she looks at Yang, giving the blonde brawler a friendly smile. "Hola, thanks for inviting us. How many students are here at this academy?" As if she doesn't already know... "It's a rather large place, isn't it?"
Yang Xiao Long     Yang looks to Reaper. "That's the city of Vale. The walls are there to keep the Grimm out. Traveling on the ground is dangerous, and usually only Hunters, or those too poor or stubborn to use air travel do it." she replies, smiling pleasantly at the growling, hostile man. "Beacon itself, as you can see, doesn't need walls, because we're on the edge of a cliff, with no ground access... unless you feel like scaling about sixty feet of sheer rock."

Eizen gets a wave, and a hug from the blonde as well. "Hey Eizen, no worries on my end. You do you!"

Sombra's question earns a quirk of a brow. "Well, between the first years and the fourth years, we've got about three thousand in residence, another two thousand that commute from Vale, and a few that come from further off. There's a pair of twins from my hometown on Patch."

The blonde leads the group, answering questions and offering greetings, as she leads them to the main building. "We're a school for warriors, but even the strongest fighter isn't anything without knowledge to back up the muscle. We have lectures on a regular basis, on a variety of subjects. Mathematics and literacy, history, battle tactics and group formation theory, among many other things... I guess you can say we're more like a college than a high school, if those terms are more familiar."
Reaper "A student that leaves is either not worth the time or has more important things to do. There's no reason for walls unless they're prisoners. And there are far more effective manacles than can be clamped about an ankle... child. As for burglars..."

Growls Reaper for Nicky's retort, before his dark, slow laughter bubbles from his throat. Or whatever it is in his neck now. Just a big ball of sunshine, isn't he? It does seem like all he can do is growl huskily, even the simplest question sounding strained past the edge of a scream. His heavy foot falls - unlike Kord's inobtrusive and frankly creepier silence - thumping behind blondie as she travels. His arms swinging by his side, clawed tips twitching occasionally.

Sixty meter vertical climb? That's the defense? How -interesting-. Although he adds to the tail end of Sombra's question.
"How many of your.. warriors.. fall behind? How many are cut from the program, year to year?" His mask turned to the side, studying the living as he goes.
Nicky "60 feet? Upwards, easy with a rope, and down it is just a little jump. If you can take the impact, nothing large." Nicky replies, eying to odd masked man. "No idea why they should tie down students, but where I come from, the presence of a wall does keep people out or in... somewhat."
Eithne Sullivan     Despite her bickering relationship with her crow, there is some genuine fondness between Eithne and Sheela. "Yeah," she nods cheerfully at Sombra. "He's really smart, even fer a crow, but as far as birds go he's probably not too tough. A raven would be, maybe?" She glances at Sheela, considering it.

"Can't say as I've met too many students besides Yang, but if she's the example the rest've 'em should be fine. Yang kicked my arse but good," she beams, and seems nothing but pleased as punch by it. "I'll do better next time, though! I've been training with Sir Bedivere. I cut a fridge in half! It was great."

Even she couldn't jump those walls, though she could probably survive falling from one... "Grimm are these big monsters. Spooky white masks." She points right at Reaper, unapologetically. "But with red. What're the masks about, anyway...?" Eithne wonders out loud, and looks to Yang.
Tomoe Tomoe looks over to Josuke and he might noit know this form but she's clearly acting ike she knows Josuke from how she's looking at him she also seems to approve of the hair. Not many could pull that pompador off but Josuke pulls off the feat well. She seems to nod her head at Yang with a grion.

"Alive, changed but alive. Nothing's going to ever be the same again honestly. I need to tell you a few things on that when we get a chance."

Eisen has no idea of what Reaper is after all she's stepped mostly out of the affairs of the 'new' factions unless they directly effect her or people she knows. So she is ignorant on what Reaper is and it's for the best.

"The Grim are no laughing matter, they pretty much are the apex preadators of this planet. I still have no idea about the masks myself I'm more concerned with taking them down."
Staren     Staren comes running up to the group. Well, skating -- those shoes of his have little thrusters that allow him to move in a style similar to rollerblades. His ears are perked and rotated forward, he's been listening as he approached.

His last visit to Vale was pretty brief. This time... seeing more of it, and in daylight, makes him think of a miniature Lazlo. Many types of people, walls to keep out monsters, people carrying weapons openly... It's a bit like home.

As he pulls up to the group and slows his skating to match their pace, he smiles and waves. "Hiya Yang! Hey Tomoe!"
Count Kord     Kord can only give a non-commital shrug to Sombra in response. "In my world, any child may own a bird, they are the easiest creatures to capture and the simplest to train, with the highest potential to open the world to them," he explains, which might be when one might think about him coming from a world full of Pokemon. If birds are easier to catch than dogs or cats...

Kord is keeping an eye on Reaper as the more growly of the two edgelords is speaking. Kord also stays near the back of the group.

"A city built to train warriors, to fight monsters. If only my own world were this organized," he says, wistfully.
Nicky "If my world would be that organized, I would be dead and rotten because then the fucking purifiers would have won. Never wish for too much organisation, or those forces of self proclaimed order would never ever let anything change." Nicky retorts to Cound Kord, glaring at him. "would you want a world without changge?"
Count Kord     Kord turns, full body, to look at Nicky. He stares through his mask down at her after that remark. There's a hint of shock at the sudden outburst, and a slow creeeak of him flexing one of his hands. It almost feels like he's seconds from decking her right there in the middle of all of these people.

"Think before you speak, child, not all worlds carry the same problems," he tells her, as if he had found a miraculous font of patience. And then he just turns to continue with the tour, as if that exchange didn't warrant further discussion.
Yang Xiao Long     "Those that don't pass initiation." replies Yang, glancing back at Reaper. "Those ones die." she doesn't give firm numbers, and Sombra wouldn't be able to find any hard numbers on that particular field either. Very odd.

Yang looks to Enya, and grins. "I look forward to a rematch. I've been training too, y'know." she says, then shrugs at the question. "Noone really knows. But yeah, the climb's not too bad, but you gotta get around the Grimm down there too, and they're no joke, even to veteran Hunters."

"That's the initiation, by the way. They launch you off a cliff, and if you make it back with a chess piece without dying, you're in."

"Now, to be fair, most people in Vale aren't fighters, they're just regular folks trying to live their lives... but I guess Beacon, and the other Academies in the other three Kingdoms are about the size of a small city or large town." remarks Yang, pushing a door open to allow people into the main building. "We're between classes, so most students have gone to Vale to relax in the off period. There's still a few diehards that're using the Arena for sparring practice and weapon maintenance though... we'll run into them before too long." Yang then looks at Staren, and grins. "Hey catman, how's it hanging?" she asks, watching him skate up. "Heh, reminds me of one of those Vacuo trainees that showed up. Got a hoverboard and everything."

"C'mon kiddies, no fighting in the halls. We'll get to the arena soon enough." she chirps happily, before peeking into one of the auditoriums then swinging the door open. "This is one of the many lecture halls where we learn the theory to our practice."
Staren     Staren takes a sudden breath at the mention of the entry requirements. "So to even survive initiation... They're already trained fighters? I thought I was a prodigy, but /everyone/ here starts so early... It's hanging alright, I guess."
Sombra     A place to train warriors, how interesting. It's bound to be a rough place to learn, especially if this place is dangerous... but those who succeed ought to be decent combatants. Even if many do fail and don't manage to keep up with the others, like Reaper suggests. "I can't imagine keeping track of that many students," Sombra muses with a pensive look on her face. "So what subjects are taught here? Do you rely on any other security to keep the place safe for the students? They must be awfully young, some of them..."

So they die if they aren't good enough. "Dios mio... how dreary," Sombra comments as they head into the main building. "At least this place isn't for slackers, I guess..." The woman looks curiously in on the lecture hall and the students inside, running her hand along the wall. Are there any electronic things she can hack into here...?
Reaper Reaper's white masked gaze turns towards Eithne as she points out just how much like a Grim he looks. Well, if you squint. No bit of flesh showing, white mask, and so forth. A faint few wisps of smoke begin rising from his shoulders and cowl, as if someone had lit a small fire under that trench-coat-cloak-thing.

"It appears.." He grates ".. that my .. -affliction-.. is more wide spread than first thought." The mask briefly considers Sombra, before Kord and Nicky have their argument. The voice is still snarling, but it's a softer growl. For her alone, although his voice isn't the best for whispering.
"And without that pain, you would not know how to scale sixty foot of wall. Any lesson worth retaining is going to leave a scar. Organization has its place - but its a weed. When it gets overgrown, you have to -pluck- it from the root." He begins, before those clawed gauntlets creak.

And then its back to Yang answering his question. The white mask dips, slightly. "Impressive." At last something got through to him; Darwinian lesson plans. "Where do your students go after they graduate?" And, finally, an entirely new line of thought.

"Where do the Grimm come from.. and have they ever been... -cured-?"
The mask finally turns for Sombra, another comment. "Feeling familiar?" He asks, to the 'no slackers' comment. And the 'dreary' one.
Tomoe Tomoe says "Oh hey Staren."

She looks sympathically to Count Kord before commeting.

"My home needs something likethis at this point as well." She looks to Nicky for a moment, she opens her mouth for a moment.

She doesn't seem intent to fight just yet either if she wa even looking for one. She looks at Staren. "Yes, it's ... insane. I'm never complaing about mundane exams again."
Eithne Sullivan     Re-match, re-match~! "I'd hope so! Otherwise why go to a combat school?" Eithne laughs. "Though I imagine it's like he said," and she nods to Staren, "Yeh have to be really good just to get into the program. Ordinary folks would just die, yeah? Splat, right out've the gate!" She slaps one hand into the other in an unnecessary visual aid.

As Reaper's attention turns toward herself, she meets his eyeless mask with a wide smile. "Isn't that what they say - anything worth doin's worth gettin' hurt fer?" She follows Yang and the others into the lecture hall. "Whooooaaaa, it's even big in here!" How many students must be in each class? "It /is/ a bit like a university." For the first time, Eithne feels a little envious of the students who go here - not because they're training to save their world, but because of the /feeling/ of the place, like she could sit down and absorb knowledge like a sponge. The smell of pencils, the slip of paper under her fingers, and creak of a new book's spine as it's loosened...

She comes back from her reverie at the thought of a cure for what ails that masked man. "Curin' death's a bit easier said than done, boyo," she remarks mildly.
Nicky "True, not all worlds are the same. Like... you heard, they send children to the slaughter here. Want to stay here? I bet they sign you up after you survive that challenge." Nicky retorts to Kord, the hands still in the pockets. She turns to Sombra, stretching a bit.

"Slackers, define me slacker. Some people don't have powers on par with others, if at all. But do they have to be left behind?! No! They damned have a right to live, they have a right to try to train up. You never realize what odd mutation might have a use unless you let them check out how versatile it really is."
Count Kord     Kord makes a long-suffering sigh as Nicky continues to mouth off at him, like an old man who is only tolerating a kid because he's in public. He doesn't seem interested in continuing the discussion either way. He calls his Murkrow out again, where she settles on his shoulder and makes a fussy 'rrrrr' at him but somehow quickly realizes this girl is stressing him out.

So the Murkrow starts nibbling at the bird-like helmet, prompting him to pet the black bird with the hat-like formation on its head.

"Mmh. Another improvement to add to the list," he muses to himself, undeterred from his approval of Beacon's way of doing things.
Staren     Staren rolls his eyes at Reaper. "You're not a Grimm. The White Fang do the mask thing too and /they're/ not Grimm." He looks to Eithne. "But not impossible."

Then to Nicky. "I'm pretty sure the people taking the test are volunteers, not conscripts." He nods at the assertion that even useless-seeming people deserve life.
Yang Xiao Long     There's electronics everywhere. The entire building is literally pulsing with a wifi network. It's all powered by Dust, but the interface is fairly standard. There's safeguards in place of course.

Staren's little outburst gets a 'look' from Yang. "Well, yeah? I started at Signal when I was thirteen years old. Ruby got skipped ahead two years to join the rest of us here too. Kinda have to start young when there are literal monsters in the dark that will eat you."

Yang just shrugs and turns to Reaper. "They're, not an affliction, well, not afflicted is more like it. The Grimm are a... force of nature? I guess? They've always been, ever since the start of recorded history at least. Maybe even before then. They're attracted to negative emotions, fear, hate, anger, means it's not just stupid to start a fight, it's even more dangerous because the fighting attracts the Grimm." she eyes the Reaper briefly for a few moments. "Graduation means a Hunter gets their official liscence and can begin doing the same work all other Hunters do... I guess you can call us mercenaries... but I like the... Japanese, I think, phrase. Ronin. Masterless warriors that wander to do good wherever they feel like it. Traveling from place to place and righting wrongs, or just killing a bunch of Grimm that are getting too close for comfort."

Yang pauses as Nicky starts ranting. She holds herself in check for a few moments after she's done, before speaking. "Noone's 'signed up' here. You volunteer, you apply, you go out of your way to try and make a difference. /THAT/ is why I'm here, it's why everyone else in this school is here. They CHOSE this." she says, then turns away, and heads for the door opposite.

"It's a simple truth of Remnant. If you live outside of the cities, you could die at any time. It's one reason the Hunters are trained, to help safeguard those outer settlements... This world is a harsh place, but that doesn't stop us from doing what we can to make it better." She opens the opposite door, then turns down a hallway. "Lets go to the arena, there's a bit too much tension in the air right now."
Sombra     The hacker turns her attention to Nicky, arching one of her split eyebrows. "It's a rough world out there, amiga. Sometimes you're just not strong enough to survive, no matter what you do. And then you have those who think they can survive in rough places without doing the work needed to stay alive. And Gabe? He gets an amused look. "I'm still alive, aren't I?" So she's not that bad of a slacker.

For now Sombra sticks to the back of the group, quiet as she inspects things. Perhaps Reaper would recognise that focus of hers, curiousity that she doesn't display all the time, but when she's intent on hacking she gets a particular look in her eye. Upon walking past a wall interface the hacker does briefly halt by it, and once she's certain the others aren't looking at her, she raises her hand to place it on top of it, all while purple lines spread across the panel just briefly, all before they fade. With that done, Sombra hurries to catch up to Reaper again.
Reaper "No. I am not a Grimm - just grim."
Hisses Reaper for Staren's commentary, before pausing at his own dark dad joke. Sombra really, really is a bad influence. Then Nicky starts speaking, and Reaper's got words for that too.
"No one deserves. Everyone earns - earn or perish. This world calls for a harder line to be drawn; Necessity. It wasn't so long ago that my world had to draw the same line. Or die."

And Ethine states that there's no cure for death. THAT gets a long, silent stare from the blank white mask. ".. I knew a person, once." He begins, before they move on towards the arena itself, listening as he goes. And Yang speaks about fighting drawing in massive predators. "Seems like a useful trait; Baitable. Do they breed off this.. 'negative' emotion as well?" The mask doesn't turn when Sombra falls behind the troupe; Reaper knows precisely why, which is the reason he neatly places himself in the middle, drawing attention away from his cyber-dau- THAT IS, asset. The wisps of smoke curling away from his cowl once more as he turns his attention down the hallway, arms crossed over his chest.

"Death comes to all; A dead man knows this better than most." A pause. "How young do you begin training for this academy..?" He begins, before that white mask turns towards Yang. "And do you accept initiates from outside your world?"
A slight dip of the mask when Sombra catches back up to the group.
Nicky "If nobody deserves, go on, grab the gun and start to clense the multiverse of the millions of corrupted souls. Reap the living that can't earn whatever standards you invent." Nicky responds to Reaper, face red, hands balled to fists in the pockets.
Eithne Sullivan     "Oh no, not impossible at all!" she agrees easily. "Just difficult."

She sounds pretty sure of it...!

"One've my cousins died a while back," Eithne nods, sobering a bit. "He wasn't supposed to, though. Wasn't his time. It was a big mess, all've us that were around at the time had to go on a quest or six to get 'im back." A small nostalgic smile curves her mouth. "I thought he was gonna disappear under people when he started breathin' again! Poor fella, he almost got hugged back to death~!"
Tomoe Tomoe says "They really seem like it, I wonder though they have to have an origin point, right? That's one way to look at it Yang or Knights Errant is how I see hunters myself. Just a cultral lenses really though." She looks at Niki's for a moment. "You assume a lot don't you? Everyone at the school signs on the dotted line there is no force to it." She just shakes her head a bit at nikki and Sombra foes get a noteice from her but misses Sombra's little accessing the local network nope she's maybe too relaxed here. She also gives Eithne a glance for a moment and tils her head nodding.

"I never heard of it comming out well save ... when a deity of some sort steps in and that's rare. Otherwise you ... end up with things going badly generally."n

She smiles fainly a little bit at Eithens though.

"It's not losing people close to you, I'm sorry for your loss."
Staren     Staren wonders what Yang's look means. He nods at the comment about death coming at any time outside cities.

"I'm not sure they're biological creatures that 'breed'... Given how they just disappear when killed, I wouldn't be surprised if they just... appear near concentrations of negative emotion. I guess I should borrow a book on Grimm basics, huh?"

He glances at Reaper. "Personally, I think there is a marked difference between a 'death' that you can walk and talk after, and a death that sees complete cessation of your existence or moving on to a complete afterlife. Death doesn't have to be the latter, and if it isn't, I don't really think of it as death at all."

He's starting to like this Nicky girl. He watches Reaper for his response to that.
