Alexis It was rare that things were quiet around the ranch. And this early evening was no different. The sounds of a ruckus were constantly coming from behind the main building. Though most of the ruckus was coming from the various Pokemon and other critters whooping and cheering. Even the Missing Lynx had his massive head stuck out of the building that had been constructed for him alongside the converted barn to watch.

As for what they were watching? A sparring match between a Lucario and a Pikachu wearing a luchador's mask, while a Hawlucha watched from his perch on the elevated deck railing with arms crossed. And next to him Alexis was sitting, cold drink in one hand and a pail of chips on the railing between them.

The Lucario had just manifested her bone bo-staff of aura to strike with, but the smaller and faster Pikachu leaped acrobatically out of the way. Followed by nailing her in the chin with a Quick Attack used as an aerial kick. Though it wasn't much of a blow since Lucarios have tough steel-like fur.
Dukemon X     As the fight went on between the two pokemon and the creatures of Aexis farm cheered and nagged on the fight. There was one monster who moved up behind her, that towered her small frame and teal eyes observed the match.

He leaned over her, easily reaching for one of her chips with his black, clawed fingers. In reaching down to pluck one up, the seven foot two digimon made himself know with his calm voice. "My bet is on the Lucario." He says easily before moving to pull the chip out of the pale, then to give it a look over.
Alexis "Well well, look who's here." Alexis doesn't even flinch at the arrival. She's kind of use to it, there's a few pokemon that come and go as they please. "I was starting to wonder if you didn't get yourself lost for good this time."

The Lucario swings again with the bone-staff, seeing as it counts as a Type that would be super-effective versus an Electric pokemon. But Pikachu Libre continues to be elusive, this time forgoing an attack to use Double Team and make several mirror images appear.

"Hawlu." <Only if she can land a hit successfully.> Remarks the bird-mon.

"Yeah. She's been relying too much on her aura senses, so its as much to practice fighting without them as it is for Zapette to practice evasiveness." Alexis scooped up some chips as she turned a bit. "Snark aside, nice to see you wander by again Duke. What's the occassion?"
Dukemon X     Duke eats the chip, somehow. Don't question the art of food consumption with a face-plate. Its a traditional art passed down from Royal Knight to Royal Knight! The Digimon doesn't say much however, he just goes to pluck another chip to nibble on it as he witnesses the Lucario continue to miss and decides to shout out to the pokemon. "You need to concentrate! Trust all your senses! Watch their movements... Anticipate... THEN Strike!" NOM chip.

The Digimon's teal eyes with gold flecks looks down at Alexis as she looks back to him. "Coming to terms with some things. I went to the place where many of those we saved have been hiding. I went there to find peace and... To honestly.... examine myself." He looks back to the fight. "... I ran so long not knowing myself-- that when it came time to know myself... I couldn't bare to stand at what I had become."

"... In essence." He closes his eyes for a moment. "I was dooming myself to failure, because I couldn't accept my plight." He looks to her once more. "I couldn't accept myself."
Alexis Alexis mmhmms thoughtfully. "Sometimes that first step to take is the hardest. Because it's one we don't want to admit we need." Idly she flicked a chip to the side, which the Hawlucha snatchs without even appearing to move. He's pretty damn fast himself when need be.

Then puts her feet up on the railing so she can tilt back her chair some. "Not that I can blame you. Considering.. y'know, things. But being who you are doesn't mean you have to be what -it- wanted you to be. If that's what you're talking about."

A few precision strikes with the bone-staff dismiss the images, even as Zapette uses the diversion to jump onto the railing briefly, using it as a wrestler would the turnbuckle to leap even higher into the air.

But just as she somersaults into a bodily drop Sanshou abruptly spins around, the Lucariou's foot erupting in flames as she swings into a high roundhouse kick, intercepting the smaller mouse with the surprise attack and booting her across the yard.

"Hehe. Not many people are gonna expect a Steel type having a Fire move." Alexis takes a gulp from her drink. "Cross breeding moves has it's uses."
Dukemon X     Dukemon X simply grunts, "... About that..." He doesn't finish he statement however as the fight comes to a close and he applauds the two, smiling behind the face-plate and clear in his eyes. Whatever he was going to say, he seems to avoid further as he reaches for another chip. "... Has things been well for you and your Fox boy?"
Alexis The Hawlucha hops down from his perch to go retrieve the dazed Pikachu. "Your coaching is paying off for both of them, Hurri." "Hawlucha." The rest of the gathering starts to disperse, critters going off to their various other activities for the evening.

"Yeah, it took time to put things back in order, but we're doing fine." Alexis takes a chip, and flicks it at Duke's head playfully. "But don't think askin' about us is gonna distract me from what you were about to say."
Dukemon X     The chip gently plinks against his helmet and he closes one eyes as it does, "Hey now." He chuckles softly before goes to poke her in the side with care playfully. "That was chipping unfair!" He teases a bit before she tries to figure out what he was going to say.

Dukemon X gently shakes his head at that point. The blond strands of hair coming out of the backside of his helmet move gently in the breeze as he speaks, "It isn't important right now. It-- honestly isn't, just that... Everything will be fine."
Alexis "If you say so." Alexis knows trying to pry isn't really going to get her anywhere. So she just munchs some more chips herself, though the bucket is starting to get a bit low by this point. "You did say something about seeing some other digimon though. You mean like the survivors that garuru-bitch was trying to hunt down?"
Dukemon X     Dukemon X doesn't say another word on it either, but he may one day explain in full. Instead he nods his head to Axelis question, before he further explains. "While the threat may have died down, I went there to not only find my grounding... But to see what I could do to assist."

"No matter how much I try to deny it," The Digimon further explains, "... I am a Royal Knight and will always be a Royal Knight. Though Omegamon and even Yggdrasil may try to strip this from me, it is my right, by code and by sworn duty, that I am and shall always be."
Alexis "Pfft. Even then," Alexis replies as she sits her chair back upright. "They can do whatever they want with the title, it doesn't change who you are and what you do. Fancy names are just fancy names."
Dukemon X     That is when Alexis gets a stern look from the Digimon. Dukemon X stares down at her, almost as if judging her and her words. "No.' He says firmly. "What we were before the corruption was more than a mere title, by a way of life and a the living example of what it meant to be a Knight."

He gestures to her slightly, "We were the keepers of peace and justice. Enforcers of laws and rulings for all to live by. We the examples, the people-- the followers of that example. While the Demon Lords desired to break that order... We continued to stand firm to defy them, just as they defied us."

Dukemon X then lowers his hand. "We... were balanced. Yin and Yang. One could not be without the other." He admits while shaking his head softly. "This is something Yggdrasil has forgotten... and just as proven when the orders came... and Omegamon chose to follow them... Slaying countless lives, making us far more corrupted than the Demon Lords...!" The Digimon's metal hand clenches tightly. The armor can be heard groaning in his palm.

He at last swings his arm out to the side and steps away in his frustration. "And so many still cling to the lies, the hatred, the dark ambitious. What we were is now tainted... polluted..." Dukemon X sighs as he goes to rest his hand to his forehead. "... And I am sorry... this does mean /nothing/ here in the Multiverse... but for me... It is everything."
Alexis True to usual form Alexis doesn't even flinch under the stern look. In fact her first response is just a simple "Exactly." before draining the remainder of her drink and setting the glass aside on the rail.

By this point the other pokemon have headed inside to rest after their spar, leaving only the human and the digimon outside.

"But you kinda missed my point Duke. I didn't say it was a mere title." Sliding out of her deck chair, Alexis walked over to lean on the deck railing closest to the direction he started to meander away. "I meant you stood for who you are and what you believed in, and that doesn't matter if there is a title paired with it or not. It doesn't mean nothing. It will mean what -you- make it mean here. And I think that's what you're starting to understand finally."
Dukemon X     Dukemon X looks back to her as she corrects him and, well, explains things. His eyes, though stern at start, soften a bit, before he looks away once more. "Yes. This-- is true." He sighs softly. "At any rate, it was good to see you... But I need to go check on something."

He looks back to her once more. "I will try to be less of a stranger. I promise."
Alexis Alexis smirks a little as the point does finally get across. "Yeah, I should go make sure Zapette and Sanshou didn't strain themselves too hard. But you know you always have a spot to bum here for a while if you need it." She leaves that old hoodie hanging in one spot for a reason.
