Laura Kinney      Laura had a lot riding on this interview, and as such, had put in as much preparation as she could. Given the fact that she was in order, stowed away on a space ship, and then training an army of apes in Guerilla Warfare, it probably could have been better. Especially since Mort wasn't exactly an experton Earth Human customs himself. A brief chat with Tony had solidified the last few details however, and it's too late to back out now. Standing in front of the building, dressed in slacks with a blouse and a light jacket, Laura might actually pass for a businesswoman, if it wasn't for the fact that she seems a bit uncomfortable. At least she'd been able to talk the badger down from heels. What's the point of shoes you can't fight in? Taking a deep breath, she walks through the doors and into the building. After stopping by the receptionist's desk, she's gestured towards the security checkpoint. Gym bag goes on the conveyor belt, along with her headset and wallet, before the mutant teen steps into the scanner. ...Red lights are usually bad, right?
Pepper Potts     STARK TOWER -- MANHATTAN, NEW YORK

A shiny and polished tower, repaired after its battle scars, Stark Industries tower was a lean appearance, drawing up like a large... well. It was Tony's design.

Inside, the security team was assembling, headed by "Happy" Hogan, who was very serious faced in a good suit -- but not too good, don't want to make this kid think they're something special. He was on his way to the meeting room that the interview would take place in, grumbling glumly that he could be guarding Pepper.

Mrs. Stark, on the otherhand, was in her office. She had a slender headset on, reviewing news of the worlds around her, business news, groundbreaking on a new facility, deleting old messages -- it was going to be an interesting afternoon, to be sure.

Meanwhile, the bottom floor lobby of the bustling; people were getting ready to leave for the day when the red lights go off. A security guard in a smart uniform looks her over, before tapping the side of his head and looking at her.

"Laura Kinney?" he questions, his nightstick at his side.
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney keeps her hands at her sides, not moving, and doing her best to appear non-threatening. Well, at least as non-threatening as someone who's just been revealed to be smuggling metallic claws in her arms and legs, the composition of which is probably also driving the scanner nuts as it tries to figure out what exactly Adamantium is. "I am Laura Kinney, yes. Mrs. Potts said I should come today for an appointment to apply for a job." Externally, she's calm. Internally, the part of her brain that spent years being forcibly programmed into a weapon is busy plotting an escape route. Although knowing Tony, he's also probably got auto turrets tucked into the light fixtures... That would be painful.
Pepper Potts     The guard gives a nod, and then motions, non-threateningly with his hand. "Please take the middle elevator, it will take you to floor thirty eight. The floor aide will direct you where to go from there." The guard says.

Meanwhile, Pepper is still in her office. She crosses her arms, watching intently as Laura is moved through security at her discretion.

"Jarvis. Please scan for any unusual signs of technology on her person."

"There are some anomolies, Mrs. Stark, though not beyond what was expected given the information shared on the Starknight. Mr. Hogan is waiting for her in the meeting room."

"Excellent." Pepper states, turning, and walking to her desk, backlit against the blue sky above. "I would like a live feed, please."
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney nods, a little surprised they're letting her go through, before picking her stuff back up from the scanner and walking to the elevator. The right up is fast and quiet, as to be expected from Stark Tech, and soon she's on the right floor. After another brief, hopefully not awkward conversation, she's heading down the corridor to the conference room, where she knocks twice before entering. The gym bag is placed on the floor, and she hands over the sheet of paper that constitutes her 'resume' as such. "Mister Hogan. It is a pleasure to meet you in person."
Pepper Potts     The floor aid gives Laura directions in a kind manner, pointing her down to the right room.

Hogan sits at the far end of a big meeting table, looking genuinely grumpy. He's flanked by a short, red-haired woman, who takes the resume and begins to pour over it, a tall, very buff guy, and two more normal-looking types to the other side of Happy Hogan.

"First off, Miss Kinney, we're required to tell you that this will be a recorded interview and in accorance to the United States Privacy Laws we will not spread anything you say in this interview unless it were to be a felony on the part of a required reporter to do so. Knowing that, are you ready to procede?" he questions, taking the paper fro m the spectacled red-haired girl and flipping through it himself.
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney has a seat where she's gestured to do so, and listens attentively as Happy talks. He does look a little different than she remembers, but he's probably been through different things. Multiverse shenanigans and all. "I accept these conditions and I am ready to proceed." Internally, she's still trying to figure out how to explain the whole 'Mutant' thing. Professor Xavier had gone over some of the history, and Hank McCoy had described the biology, but she still doesn't fully understand it herself. And he doesn't look like he's in a good mood either....
Pepper Potts     Happy purses his lips a moment, and flips through some of the information, and then looks up at Laura. He sets his face in a stern look, and leans back, crossing his arms a moment as she agrees, and gives a nod. "All right." he begins, and opens a folder.

"You mention that you're fluent in a buncha different languages, reading and writing. Business, conversational? You know slang from any of 'em?" he questions.
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney nods again. "I am fully fluent. Slang constantly evolves, so I may not know the newest terms, but I can integrate effectively. I would also need to look up any specialized professional vocabulary." So far... fairly easy questions. The hard part's going to come, though, Tony had assured her of that.
Pepper Potts     "Okay. So German, Japanese, English, French... heh. Wolverine. Sounds like some bareknuckle fighter out in the sticks." he comments, mostly to himself. The redheaded woman purses her lips and turns her gaze upwards, adjusting her short hair a moment and then she turns to Laura. When she speaks, it's with a slight southern drawl that's trying to be buried beneath Standard American.

"Miss Kinney, your resume and skill set does appear to be quite extensive. What made you choose Stark Industries for a position?"
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney allows a smile to flit across her lips. She wasn't sure if her father had ever met the Happy from 616, but they'd probably get along great. That is, if they didn't end up in a fight first. "I am a native of a world much like this one, and I am familiar with the Starks, Stark Industries, and the Avengers. There are also a few unique circumstances that would make me apprehensive about applying just anywhere, and I was informed by a reliable party that Stark Industries would not be likely to unfairly judge me based on these."
Pepper Potts     "Well, considering we hire ex-SHIELD agents as part of our very competitive boots-on-the-ground security team, you'll find we judge very fairly, but also with many demands." The small woman says, fodling her hands over her paperwork. "What are your salary requirements?"
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney ...actually hadn't thought that much about the exact salary range. She'd done some research into apartment pricing, but still had no idea what was standard for this kind of position. Or even what exactly this position would entail. Either way... It couldn't be more taxing than the time she'd spent on her world after the Decimation dropped the mutant population to near extinction. "I would be happy with forty-five thousand a year. I believe that would cover all of my expenses." Hopefully she's not lowballing too much, or even worse, actually overestimating her worth...
Pepper Potts     Happy's eyebrows rise up. The redhead leans forward. The other three in the room look at one another a bit bewildered.

"Well, that sounds very fair for what you have listed here. Of course, you'll also get hazard pay for taking on situations above and beyond the call of duty, provided you can pass your next round of interview..."
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney ....that was definitely a lowball. Ah well, Depending on how bad it is, someone might end up angry and give her a raise later. And not many people can say their first paying job was at Stark Industries. "I anticipated that there would be a practical portion of the interview. If this round is that, do you mind if I change?" She gestures towards the bag at her feet.
Pepper Potts     "Oh, no, there's not a practical portion this round. Miss Po-- Mrs. Stark will be waiting for you in her office."

The door slides open. "No need, I'm right here." Pepper states, and she walks in, clad in a chargoal gray suit tailored to her, green eyes on Laura first before moving to Happy and the rest of the secuirty team. "I'll admit, Miss Kinney, *most* people don't ask for the CEO when inquiring about positions within the company. As much as I admire the 'hit the pavement, knock on every door' aspect, it is certainly curious," she states, and Happy stands up, correcting hsi jacket as the others do as well, and though the three others leave the room, all fading as the hologram ends. Happy and the red head sit off to the side, and Pepper takes their place. Her legs cross beneath the table, and she draws a black pen from her breast pocket.

    "Tell me about yourself, please."
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney is actually slightly disappointed by that revelation, even though she doesn't let it show. It would have been nice to get out of these somewhat uncomfortable clothes. "I apologize if I made mistakes during this process. I am not exactly familiar with it." She lowers her gaze to the table for a moment, before looking up again. "You already know my name, and your scanners told you that I am not normal. In my world, there is a subspecies of human referred to as 'Homo Sapiens Superior', usually just called 'Mutants'. The presence of the X-Gene gives us varying abilities, depending on other genetic factors. Mine include the claws your scanners saw, enhanced senses and reflexes, strength, and a 'healing factor.' I rapidly recover from injuries, even those that would otherwise be fatal." Laura does her best to gauge how Pepper's taking this. Hopefully well... "I have not had a normal life. I was created in a lab from a DNA sample of my father, Logan, to serve as an assassin for my creators. I did not have a choice in any of this. That is why my claws are bonded with adamantium." Her gaze drifts down to the table again, hands curling into fists. Clearly, this is a bit of a difficult topic.
Pepper Potts     "Our security scanners did pick up the anomolies in your forearms and legs, but they are something that was discussed over the StarkNet band, so you will not have to explain them here." Pepper replies, and she listens, her head tilting a little bit as she considers everything that Laura is Saying, and then she gives a small nod, and she folds her hands.

"Then let me tell you about myself, Miss Kinney." she states, and leans back.

"When I arrived in the multivere, I became enamoured with its various worlds. I've traveled to spirit realms, compeated against strange people from other planets, and have adopted a child capable of, quite literally, moving mountains. Through-out all these events, I have kept the beleif that we should be judged by our actions, those of our own choosing with full knowledge."

She leans forward. There's just a ghost of some gray hair from her temple.

"Can you be trusted, Miss Kinney?"
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney looks up again as Pepper addresses her directly, green eyes meeting blue. "Yes. I have fought to defend my friends, and I would sacrifice my life for them. I only hid information from them when not doing so would cause harm. I fight so that others do not have to. Logan is an Avenger, alongside the Tony Stark from my world. He is good at determining people's character. If he found you trustworthy, that is good enough for me. I do not see any reason why I would work against you."
Pepper Potts     "Well, how about a... trial period. Forty-five days, paid directly to an accuont. We will cover your housing... we have a nice brownstone in Brooklyn with an opening." Pepper states, and she sets down her datapad, and begins to type away. There's a three dimensional image that comes up of a brownstone apartment building, a floor plan with a one bedroom apartment, galley kitchen, living room, breakfast nook, parking for one car.

"You will report to Happy or Janice, primarily during your trial period."
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney ...looks kind of confused at first. That's it? She thought this would be a more drawn out process, probably with more evaluations and stuff but... It's really that easy? "That sounds good to me Mrs. Stark. Thank you. I will not let you down. Is there anything else I need to do or that I should know?" The confusion is gone, actually replaced with something resembling excitement, although it's still fairly subdued. "Tony said that there is no dress code, but I thought I would verify with you."
Pepper Potts     Pepper's face goes flat. "I see, you've been speaking with my husband... well. For our security team we just ask that you look professional and have no offensive tattoos. It doesn't appear that you'll haev any problem with either."
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney ....maybe shouldn't have mentioned those conversations. "I think I will have to make a few adjustments to my clothes then. Thank you again for your time." She stands up, offering her hand. You shake hands with people after a deal, right? That's totally a thing humans do.
Pepper Potts     Thing that people do, even Pepper has to remind herself of that some days. She does stand, and shakes Laura's hand, as does Happy and presumably, Janice Janice gives Laura a grin, and a wink. "When you come in for work tomorrow, tell the guard you want the security team. My main office is in the basement. I'll hook you up with some gear."
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney gives a greatful smile, to Janice. "Thank you. ...I assume that some kind of exception can be made so I do not set off the alarm every day when I come in? In my experience some find my mutations... intimidating." That's probably the best way to describe 'holy shit, this girl's crazy, has metal claws, and won't die'. "I can also retrieve my things from my current housing today. I only have the one bag."
