Karian Icefang     Once more aboard the Inquisitor Atrox's ship, things seemed to be gong as normal. In transit to Fenris after a LENGTHY negotiation between Karian and his men, it was decided that until the Orlox situation was settled, Artox would be safest in the Fang. But while orbiting and preparing to dock, alarms went off. "Attention: Inquisitor Artox's ship is under attack. Automated distress beacon engaged. Loyal sons, daughters, and allies of the Imperium are mandated to come to assistance. Message will repeat." Strangely enough though, no enemy ships seemed to be close by, nor did it seem any trace of warp energies were being used. Perhaps the ship was simply suffering a malfunction, but if that were the case, all other comms in the area wouldn't be broadcasting static. The whole thing was enough to call Karian from his inactivity to a transport with his allies, clad only in his robes and with his mighty greatsword. "I don't like this.....it's too suspiscious."
Rebecca Chambers Malfunction or not, Rebecca knows you can't assume anything when an alarm goes off for any reason at all. Thre's no sign of enemy ships, sure, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible for them to sneak aboard either. Rebecca regards the distress signal as very serious and moves out as quickly as she can.

A few moments later, she teleports aboard the ship and makes her way to find Karian. Once she finds him, she stops and salutes immediately before saying, "I came as quickly as I could. What's the problem?" She asks, unaware that the alarm might be malfunctioning.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna's only interaction with Inquisitor Artox has been decidedly indirect; really, she's had more contact with Torm than with the Inquisitor himself - and in Torm's case, it was only inside Karian's mindscape, not face-to-face. Still, the news that the Inquisitor's ship is under attack is enough to bring Yuna running, even though she's at Hikari when Elner picks up on the distress call.

And Yuna *literally* comes running - she hasn't even taken time to transform into her Light Suit yet, but Elner is with her, and the rest of the Matrix of Light emerge through the Fang's warpgate behind the idol-turned-warrior and the little robo-faerie construct. It's only when Yuna catches up with the Space Wolves boarding their transport that she stops, starts catching her breath, and *finally* transforms, the sleek armor of her Light Suit replacing her Hikari Fleet uniform.

"Sorry I wasn't here sooner," Yuna pants. "Any sign of trouble besides the distress beacon? Any hints what's going on?"
Karian Icefang     Karian smiles softly to both Becky and to Yuna. It's more the kind of smile a weary old man might give to a young child. But as he hears the question, he shrugs. "I'm not sure. Everything was fine, then things went dark..." He says. It's clear to everyone he's still fighting to get back to where he was, but he wasn't going to sit back. He owed whatever was on that ship a personal greeting.
Once the group enters the hanger, they would see the ship was indeed attacked. All over are the mark's of not battle, but more like a massacre. Bodies of troopers and servitors were all around, visibly torn into. Further ahead though, lasfire could be heard, as well as an almost inhuman roar of rage and hatred.
Rebecca Chambers As Rebecca walks with Karian to the hangar, she can't help but feel a pang of uneasiness within her. It's not of fear, but rather a suspicion that there's someone (or something) else aboard this ship. Rebecca looks to her back, noticing the tactical shield she has strapped there in the event things get dangerous. She's also packing plenty of firepower, with her MP5K, her Magnum, and her Beretta, all of which she brought plenty of ammunition for in her personal ammunition sidepack, which lets her carry her ammo without getting her held down too much.

As the three of them arrive in the hangar, Rebecca's eyes widen at the sight of the awful slaughter that somehow happened here. Rebecca is about to wonder what could have done this, when a loud roar causes her to clamp her hands over her ears and squeeze her eyes shut. When the roar stops, Rebecca's already gotten her tactical shield unstrapped and has attached it to her left forearm. Peering through the slot, she looks towards where the roar came from, biting her lower lip nervously. At the same time, she's taking out her MP5K and turning on the laser sighting, preparing for the worst while hoping it's not the worst at the same time.
Yuna Kagurazaka In all honesty, there is a piece of Yuna which, at the sound of that utterly inhuman roar, wishes strongly that she were back at Hikari getting ready for another supply expedition. It is not a small piece.

But there's a larger piece of Yuna which is absolutely committed to standing by her friends when they need her - and this is important enough for Karian to lead his Wolves into battle. Karian is one of her friends, so are the Wolves in general to a lesser extent, and for that matter, so is Rebecca - maybe not a close friend, but they've fought side-by-side on numerous occasions.

Yuna swallows hard, then glances over her shoulder. "Jiina, you're up ... let's combine. Karian," she continues as the green-and-white android goes translucent and phases around Yuna, "if you're okay with someone who's not a Wolf taking point, I'll probably have the best defenses ..." She trails off as Jiina's image vanishes and a large wireframe forms around Yuna's Light Suited body; immediately thereafter, the pieces of a larger exo-frame begin to materialize and attach to the Light Suit and to each other, assembling into Yuna's Powered Form.

"Shugoseiheki!" Yuna adds as her secondary transformation finishes; the invocation causes her kite shield to materialize on Powered Form's left exo-arm, and she silently wills the Matrix Divider to appear in her own hands, clad as her arms are in additional armor. Whatever is strong enough and vicious enough to tear through the ship's complement like this, Yuna's willing to bet that she can at least stand her ground against it with this degree of protection.

She is, in fact, quite literally betting her life. And unless Karian insists on somebody *else* taking point, Yuna leads the way in spite of her own fear.
Tomoe To say Tomoe was unasy being here would be a lie, more than likely ten of them. She would be keepingwith the rest of hte group as she looks over the carnage before her and frowns there seems to be no one alive here so far it's a mess she hears teh sound of energy weapon and she's quick to summon mooncutter.

"Lets move flag anyone's whose not dead you see that's one of ours."

with that Tomoe is going to be moving out infront to take point unless someone else /tries/ to stop her.
Staren     Soon after the distress call, the Stranger than Fiction drops out of FTL nearby. Staren looks for the best way to get aboard. He could go to an airlock and ask to be let in... or, there's a hangar. <"I'm coming in through the hangar."> he alerts Karian, and then the beam of red energy is visible zooming from his ship to the hangar's floor, resolving into Staren in his armor.

On seeing the massacre... It's not exactly that it's an incomprehensibly horrifying sight. He stalked a city under siege by the Slaughterhouse 9's clones for a week, after all. It's just... here's yet another monster. At the sound of the roar, he looks for the source, deploying tiny drones to help search the hangar. The missile launchers pop into firing position on his shoulders, and he's ready to call in more missiles from the Star Hawk if need be. Whatever did this, he's ready to blast into subatomic particles.
Karian Icefang     Karian grimmaces as he hears the roar. He nods towards Yuna and Tomoe both, letting them take the lead. As they move forward, the massacre doesn't just extend only to the hanger. The corridor's were much of the same. Though out here some of the bodies seemed to have needles in them, while others have standard bolter or blade wounds. Then, just a little further ahead, the group would hear the maniacal laughter. For a brief second, if they looked close enough, they could spot a skull shaped helmet as it turned a corner moving away. "WHERE ARE YOU, ARTOX?! THE DEATH STARE OF THE EMPEROR HAS COME!"
AT that moment, hearing that line, Karian froze in his tracks. "We need to find Artox now. I'm in no condition to even think of standing against that monster...and I don't even want to think of what it would do to any of you." He says. His Iron Priest quickly began to try and break through the interference and static to raise the Inquisitor, but was currently having no luck.
Yuna Kagurazaka More than the initial roar of rage, that laughter makes Yuna cringe even within the protective shell of Powered Form's armor. But it's the words which follow - the killer's challenge to the Inquisitor himself - which steel her resolve and set her moving forward in pursuit. "Elner," she calls out to her robo-faerie companion, "start sweeping the ship, map out where the survivors are, and relay positions and routes to any healers among the Space Wolves - with Karian's permission, of course," she adds, glancing back at the Wolf Lord. "And share data with Staren as far as the ship's layout and positions of life-signs. Erina, Marina, assist the medical personnel in reaching people who need it."

The corridors are plenty wide for Yuna and Tomoe to take point together, and where Yuna's arsenal in Powered Form is heavily weighted towards ranged weaponry, she knows Tomoe is more melee-focused. so they should be able to work together pretty well. So Yuna advances next to Tomoe, Matrix Divider at the ready; if she gets a good bead on the skull-helmed killer, she won't hesitate to open fire - especially if he charges at anyone in the group.
Rebecca Chambers The bizarre laughter makes Rebecca shudder a little. But then she regains her composure and begins to focus again. She grips her MP5K tightly in one hand, while her shield remains raised with the other arm. "Whoever they are, they'd best watch out! They'll regret messing with us!" Rebecca forces the words a little, but her voice does sound forceful all the same, like she's genuinely being brave here.

As Yuna and Tomoe move forward, Rebecca lowers her tactical shield to quickly move closer to them. "I'll cover you for now, but if anything happens, fall in behind me! I can protect you with my shield!"
Tomoe Tomoe has sene her self as the one on point aka the tank since she was trapped in SAO and has basicall wrapped her sense of self idnity up ithat for good or ill. She's looking at Yuna for a moment and actually give her a slight glare that would be unexpected given their rleationship but she will move to settl down up from with Yuna there is the matter of off tanking and even she cna only tank so much.

There's carnage here, the sort that was ressolved to movies or the distant past on Tomoe's word.

he forms up with Yuna and keeps the weapon ready as she moves on ahead.

"Come on you want some of this you menbtal parasite?!"
Staren     The drones soon determine the hangar is clear. So it's escaped into the ship. <"Where's the inquisitor? Whatever, just get him suited up and outside. Do we need to evacuate the remaining crew, too?"> Staren heads into the ship, readying a handheld missile launcher as well. A threat like this seems worth melting the inside of the ship a little. (He's using plasma warheads, not explosives. He's not crazy.) The drones -- small quadrotors maybe a handsbreadth across -- fly in ahead of him, splitting up at forks and trying to cover as much area as possible.
Karian Icefang     Thanks to Tomoe's call, the Eversor turns and runs at full speed at the group. He was a big, bulky man with the mask a pristine white and humanoid, always in a rictis grin. "Ahh...MORE TARGETS FOR ME TO KILL!!!" He screams out with a mix of hatred, anger, and joy. It seemed the idea of killing gave him a rush. He fired off poisonous darts into the shields, not having expected them. But once he got close, he began trying to bash through his his clawed arm.
Meanwhile, Staren's drones would pick up on a door near the group that was heavily fortified. A quick check would reveal it was an imperial safe room, and it was being used. Just then, the Iron Priest would report he got in touch with Artox. He was indeed in there, having bolted there at the first report of an attack. "Good. Tell him to stay safe, we'll be there soon." He then looks over to Staren. "Staren....go down that hallway, and you'll find a door there. Artox is inside. Get him to your ship as fast as you can and get him to the Fang." Then to Tomoe and Yuna. "Hold as long as you can. Once we have the Inquisitor, I'll keep your back's clear."
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna's kite shield is far more than equal to the task of blocking those poison-loaded darts - and even if Yuna *didn't* have the shield, it's unlikely that the darts could have pierced her Light Suit, with or without the extra armor of Powered Form. She would have covered Tomoe and/or Rebecca as well if able, but under the circumstances, she just has to trust them to fend for themselves - trying to shield the other two would just be clumsy and slow at this point, and they don't have time for either.

What Yuna CAN do, though, is try to stymie the Eversor's charge by cutting loose with her beam cannons, set into the shoulders of Powered Form's big manipulator arms. The twin blasts are dialed down as a matter of course - no matter how terrifying the Eversor assassin is in person, there's enough that's still 'human' about him (it?) for Yuna's determination not to kill to kick in. Also, she doesn't want to risk damaging the ship's interior, never mind breaching the hull.

Depending on how badly she underestimated the skull-helmed killer's resilience, she may be leaving more for Tomoe and Rebecca to deal with than she meant to ... but if she can even slow the killer down enough to improve her friends' chances in close combat? It's still worth it.
Tomoe Tomoe looks redy at Eversor and he's pulled them off any suriving crew of the ship, right? She looks at them for a moment her eyes narroed.

"Better have tried."

Tomoe is nowmaking ready as she moves in tointercept him s he's fasterthanshemight expect. the Darts come and Tomoe moves dodge the dart asshe doesn't want to know what sort of horrible posion is lurking in that hting. Tomoe maybe has the wrong weapon out but she's going to use that things' reach and she's damn well /fast/ about to use the corriaots as a way to rebound around in a way ione mnight not expeft and she's now attemping to use that reach atgainst the enemy.

"Lunar Cutter!"

She dalls out launching into a series of strikes and she says.

"I will /hold/, it's the onloy thing I'm good at!"

She's glad not to be solo tanking honestly with the help from Yuna they might be able tp ping pong the enemy between them.
Rebecca Chambers As soon as Yuna calls out for Rebecca to put her head down, she does so quickly, ducking behind her shield as the dart collides against it. "Too close," She mutters, taking a breath again before coming out from behind her shield to attack. "How nice you decided to join us! Too bad the party's not looking for guests like you!" She fires off a three-round burst of gunfire, aiming carefully to avoid Tomoe. "You don't belong here!"
Staren     It seems that Staren's seperation from the group spares the Eversor from plasma doom! Fortunately, the others have plenty of other dooms for him, right? And it puts Staren in a better position to accomplish the objective. He nods to Karian's transmission and runs to the indicated room. He bangs on the door. "Hey! I'm getting you out of here! Come with me to the hangar and we can beam to my ship!"
Karian Icefang     The Eversor howls as he's stopped and blasted. But he still pushed on. Despite the optics and the helmet, it's clear that he's beyond insane at the moment. Scratching, screaming and howling, he tries to flip over and use his gauntlet claw to strike deeply into Yuna and Tomoe. He seems to look directly at becky, sizing her up too. "YOU WILL ALL DIE! NONE WILL COME HERE AGAIN!!!" He screams out.
Artox opens the door, his bolt pistol aimed at Staren for the moment. "Your that doctor...Thank the Emperor." He says. Emerging from his room, a pair of Stormtroopers had managed to survive, as did some of the regular staff. "We're ready to get out of here. But be careful...the Eversor is loaded up with various combat drugs and stims." He says in the direction of Karian and the others.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna's not quite fast enough with her shield this time, and lets out a cry of pain as the Eversor's claws sink into ...

Well. They don't pierce her armor. They don't actually *reach* the armor, but it's not for lack of trying - the Light Suit's defensive aura flares and crackles under the strike, fighting for every millimeter, but making the Eversor fight for it too. But just because Yuna's flesh and blood is protected doesn't mean she doesn't feel it - the way she cries out is proof positive of that, and the force behind the killer's strike is more than enough for her to feel no matter how much protection her physical body has.

On the other hand, once the Eversor moves on to somebody else, Yuna levels the Matrix Divider, its barrel/blade flaring to life, and puts several focused blasts into him. STILL not quite at lethal intensity - although in the back of her mind, she knows that Tomoe and Rebecca will more than make up for that with their own weapons of choice.
Staren     "Pff. I'm not a doctor. Except to machines, maybe." Staren responds before thinking. "Run to the hangar, I'll cover your back." He starts tossing out cannisters -- plasma grenades he can detonate remotely if the eversor comes this way.

After a moment, Staren asks Artox, "I hate to ask this of you, but would an eversor prioritize some serious heresy over you? If, say, he was convinced someone had raised some zombies would he have to go after those first?"
Rebecca Chambers Meanwhile, Rebecca's watching as Yuna and Tomoe are swung at by the Eversor, and she cries out with disbelief as Yuna takes a hit. Fortunately, she seems to be OK, but she's still hurt nonetheless. Either way, this causes Rebecca's eyes to narrow into a dark glare at the Eversor. "Hurting my friend? You'll pay for this!" She grits her teeth as she ducks behind her shield for a moment.

A moment later, she pops out with her Magnum at the ready, firing off a single shot from her 'hand cannon' at the Eversor. "Now, let's see what you truly feel!"
Tomoe The Eversor is now charing at them.

"None will ever..."

she attemps to parry the attack, it does not go well as she' like fo rhe the blow connects gets past her guard. And ters into her. She's a tank build and she'll live thoug it but the blow has ripped into her partial digital form horrible jagged red lines form through her body at the point of impact and worse she's forced back pretty hard and she's likely going to need some help when she reversts after this fight, should she surivbe it.
Karian Icefang     The Eversor stares at Tomoe for a moment. "WHY DON'T YOU BLEED?!?!" HE screams out, only to be shot by Becky's magnum. It tears a nice sized hole in his chest, but he seems to just treat it like it's noting. This causes Karian to get involved, bringing his blade up to try and parry the claw from Yuna's back. "Ok, fall back now!" He shouts, trying to push against the Eversor. "COME TO DIE, WOLF? I'LL WEAR YOUR HIDE!!!"
Artox shakes his head softly towards Staren. "No, sadly. Eversor's are programmed before deployed. He exists just for the mission he's given. In this case....to kill me and everyone on this ship." He says, before running towards the waiting ship.
Staren     Once Artox and the troopers are partway across the hangar, they're beamed up. Staren stops only to hide one of his spare tablets -- the AI inside will handle ordering the traps to detonate if appropriate.

Once they're all on the ship, Staren offers relaxation in the guest room, or sitting up in the tiny bridge with him. The ship's interior is something of a mishmash of visual styles -- the walls are covered with a facade to make it look like the interior of a stone castle, and some of the furniture is similarly medieval -- while just looking around they can see the /blatantly/ futuristic manufacturing room, the old-timey furniture covered with computers and gadgets in the lab, and of course the bridge, and if they go to the guest room, it's furnished in early 21st-century style.

"Plotting a course to Fang." Staren announces. "Should only take us a few minutes." FTL is wonderful!
Yuna Kagurazaka Officially, it's time to go - and Karian being desperate enough to join the fray is as much proof of it as anything. There's still a crackling frisson of light where her battlesuit's defensive aura is coming back up to full coverage, and Yuna's glad to keep that side of herself away from the Eversor.

But she's not going to leave Karian trying to hold the line alone. Her beam cannons are still charging back up from her earlier blast, and she couldn't really use them around Karian anyway, not at this kind of close range. WHat she *can* do, though, is bring the Matrix Divider up to full charge -

Level the tip of it against the side of the Eversor's head -

And pull the trigger, right when she warns Karian to close his eyes.

It's not to spare him the sight of the Eversor's head getting blown off; 'full charge' is probably a misnomer for the blast Yuna's weapon unleashes, but it's still going to blind the Space Wolves' commander if he's looking when Yuna pulls the trigger. As for the impact to the Eversor's noggin ... well, Yuna actively wanted to knock him unconscious as single-handedly as possible, and if the killer didn't at least get a concussion for her troubles, then even Yuna will have to question how much humanity is left in the Eversor.

It should at least put the Eversor off-kilter long enough for the group to make good a relatively unmolested departure. That's what Yuna was really going for - and if necessary, she'll physically pick somebody up before engaging hoverthrusters and booking it back to the Space Wolf transport that brought them from the surface.
Rebecca Chambers With Yuna trying to stop the Eversor so that they can make an escape, Rebecca wants to move out as well. But she decides to aid Yuna with another blast from her Magnum before she moves out as well. She pulls back but keeps an eye on the Eversor from behind her shield, waiting to see if any more surprises might be in store...
Karian Icefang     WIth that shot, the eversor falls down. But even as he does, he grins. "GUESS WHAT?! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!" He yells out. Inside him, the terminus gland goes to work. Every bit of combat stimulant and drug in his system is immidiately turned caustic and with explosive force, he detonates. His acidized blood flies out, though with perhaps less effect to the elites, but the corridor was wrecked.
Karian manages to get out of the way just in time to shield his good eye, and avoid and acid bath. "Damn eversors..."
Tomoe Tomoe takes a bad hit she's still in a fight she looks at them stagging for a moment swapping her weapons as she recopvers.

"What makes you think I'm made of flesh?!"

Not entirely trus she's somewhere in the middle now and she takes dawn breakeri hand looking at the eversor.

"No, I'm going to put an end you. Your nothing but a rabbid dog."

She is anfgry she is in pain and she's trying to counter attack with her blade. There's no real stopping them, she gets it and the then launches into a series of sword arts as she tries to take him down but it's is clear Tomoe /is/ hurt and pushing herself at this point.
Yuna Kagurazaka Whether from shock or just the speed at which it happens, Yuna can't get away from the Eversor fast enough to avoid being caught in the caustic explosion. Again, her Light Suit's protective aura saves her from physical injury - but it's still bad enough to take a major toll on her defensive reserves. Not enough for the Light Suit to 'break,' thankfully, but still, she's mostly relieved that the fight is over.

And she's still going to offer to support someone - anyone who needs it, really - on the way back. She's just not in a hurry any more.

She's not looking forward to trying to sleep tonight, that's for sure.
Rebecca Chambers Meanwhile, Rebecca's looking to Yuna, wishing she could do something for her. Sadly, she's not made for dealing with mechanics and things like that. Nonetheless, she tries to put on a smile and say, "We did well out there, I'll give everyone that." But then her smile fades and she sighs. "I knew something was up from the moment I arrived though. I just knew it... If only I'd known..."
