Alexis Maaka     Maaka had been looking for venue after venue for a date. The mall thing would ahve to wait until Yumi had credits to spare, she wasn't too certain about hunting mutant rodents as a first date either. The mercenary was thinking something a bit less stressful, to get to know Yumi better without distractions. Finding a small dive that was apparently renowned for its pizza. Unorthodox, but Maaka wasn't exactly picky about presentation compared to quality.

She knocks on Yumi's apartment front door, wearing her armored coat and sporting a sawn-off shotgun tucked in a hidden pocket. She's also got some liquor in her hand, for the date.

She breathes deeply, trying to keep cool. Man, it's been an age since she's actually done this.
Yumiko Kojima      Yumi's 'apartment' wasn't one as such. Technically, it was a run-down looking warehouse in Tacoma. However, that was precisely the last place anyone would look for a shadowrunner, and it'd been cheap at a police property auction. The side door Yumi actually used when she wasn't exiting through the upper story windows swings open, and the courier grins at Alexis, leaning against the frame. "Hey you. How's it going?" She's not as overtly armored, and her own weaponry must be somewhere in the belt hanging on her hips. "So where we going, anyway? And should I drive? We could probably both fit on the Guardian if you don't mind things being a bit friendly." She's nervous as well, but has her best confident front up, but a bit of her true emotions might leak through.
Alexis Maaka     "Hey." Alexis smiles, offering a salute. "I'm driving, brought my car. The place is something of a dive, but I'm told the pizza's top notch." She grins, as she holds out the liquor. "Brought vodka, watermelon specifically since you like sweet things." She says, holding out the bottle before she motions for Yumiko to join in. "Hope you don't mind coming kitted out, juuuuust in case."
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima ooooooh! She takes the bottle, pausing before looking up again at the merc. "You /do/ have gridguide on that thing, right? I mean, if we're going to get drinks..." She shrugs, before taking a sip, cheeks flushing a bit as the alcohol burns down her throat. "Null perspiration. Anyone who's smart around here always has something on them if they're not in a high security zone." Eeeeh. Worst comes to worst, she'll call her bike to come pick them up. "Pizza though... That sounds awesome!"
Alexis Maaka     Alexis grins, before she wraps an arm around Yumi. "C'mon, my car's at the street waiting for us." She says, leading them down to where Nancy growls in idle. With but a thought, Maaka opens the doors, letting Yumiko get in first in the passenger seat. It shouldn't be that uncomfortable, considering she's ridden in the muscle car before. Getting in herself, Maaka gets the car going. "So how's it been since we last talked? Get any jobs lately?"
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima lets Alexis lead the way, slipping in and closing the door after her. She has to sit at a bit of an angle to let her tail curve around the seat, but it's pretty good otherwise, and the seatbelts still work. "Pretty good. Few basic courier things. Nothing too big, but it keeps the lights on, and the ammo paid for. Nothing big, though, although I did see another post go up. Same people who got us that last run. I still can't believe you have a /spaceship/!" The courier squirms in her seat a bit, grinning over at Alexis
Alexis Maaka     "Yup, saw it too." Alexis says, as they drive. "You know I'll be making time for that one." She says, pondering future ops as well. "Heard something from Kotone about a job in her world, but nothing's set in stone just yet. We'll see." The cyborg keeps going, before they reach the district the bar's set up in. A few moments are shared between other drivers and pedestrians, mostly Maaka trying to dissuade people from trying anything less than pleasant to steal a new ride. "Wanna see the lease?" She growls menacingly at a steely eyed ork, sizing up her ride and both Maaka and Yumi. The silence is maintained, before they drive off.

Eventually, they get to the place, and Maaka parks in a low-profile spot as she heads for the bar. "C'mon, food's waitin'." The bar is named 'The Vindaloo', after one of its most infamous pizza toppings on offer. Inside, there's the usual sights in a dive like this; a dancer on the pole, guys arm wrestlin', poker and pool being played, someone trying to win the pinball record, the works.

"Yo, get us some glasses and ice." she calls the bartender over, grabbing a seat with Yumi there, setting the Watermelon vodka on the counter.
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima's hand drifts down to her belt, resting just over one of her belt pouches, drifting away again when it becomes clear that nobody's starting trouble. As they get inside, she seems to get a bit more comfortable, gait shifting a bit to one with more confidence. She's taking up space, setting out her personal boundaries. She hops onto the stool next to Alexis, still sitting sideways so she doesn't trip up someone behind them, and drums her fingers on the bar while her date pours the drinks.
Alexis Maaka     Maaka, ALexis now, pours the drinks, before offering a glass to Yumiko. "Cheers." She says, clinking glasses with the other cyborg. Taking a sip, she groans contently. "Oof, nice and tasty. Burns too..." She mutters, considering options. A patron leans over, suggesting "Try the pizza, 's fuckin' great. Mop up the grease, tho'." before going back to his business. Taking that under advisement, Maaka considers toppings. "You got a preference for your pie, Yumi?" She asks, glancing to the elf.
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima toasts and sips, making a similar momentary grimace at the sensation. She usually doesn't go for straight booze. "Well, I like a bit of everything, just no fish. Or fruit. " Hey, anything's better than Soy. The fish on pizza don't tend to be too tasty though, when she'd had it. "What about you?"
Alexis Maaka     "I'm thinking a meat and mushroom m'self." Alexis thinks, deciding on that with a little bit of olive and pepper. Once the order's in, she asks for a bit of lime to go with the vodka. <<Sorry if this isn't the glamorous thing you were expecting...I haven't dated in a long, long time.>> She whispers to Yumiko over cy-comm.
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima grins back. <<Hey, I had enough of the fancy stuff growing up, and it was all boring. And the last girlfriend I had was a ganger. You seriously think I want to go to fancy parties in floofy dresses?>> She reaches over and gently places one hand on top of Alexis'. <<I love it.>>
Alexis Maaka     <<Phew. Part of me was expecting you'd be all...disappointed or whatever.>> Alexis says, shrugging. She sips her vodka again, still talking. <<True~>> she chuckles, before picking up some breadsticks offered out as an appetizer, as if this was some kinda Italian place. <<Normally, not supposed to eat these, but fuck it.>> Nomf.
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima also nomf. <<I tried the fancy corporate life, wasn't for me. And I'm not exactly polite society material anyway. Being a 'runner's way more fun.>> She also nomfs a breadstick, savoring the flakiness. Mmmmmf. Real bread. <<No clue where you found about this place, but it's delicious. And nobody's even started a fight yet. Better than some of the places I've had meets, one of them didn't even have real chairs.>>
Alexis Maaka     <<I was made by corporates. They uh...they said my parents were killed by anti-fascist terrorists in a bombing, and the blast mutilated me beyond recognition as well. The only chance I had was an experimental full-body conversion into a cyborg.>> Alexis says, frowning. She takes another sip of the vodka, as the memories come back. <<I...I found out they lied, the company I mean. My parents were intending to leak secrets about war crimes the company's mercenary forces committed, but by this time, I was already one of their top talents. I went rogue, jailbroke myself with help from some contacts I made, and now I've kind of been trying to give them a wide berth. THey're scared shitless, but the war we'd carry out would be more damaging than is worth it. I'll get revenge one of these days, but for now I kinda just go day by day.>> Siiiiip. Alexis sighs, closing her eyes. <<It's the reason I don't trust companies much. So...yeah, I don't blame you one bit going out on your own.>>
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima listens to the story, raising her eyebrows as things get more intense. At the revelation though... She grits her teeth, legs whirring softly under the bar as she tenses. <<Frag...>> She's otherwise wordless for a moment before replying, <<I'm sorry. And if you ever get a team together to go after them? I'm in, assuming you'll have me. I did all this to myself. It was my choice. But doing that against someone's will...>> There's a slightly louder snick as the climbing claws in the elf's feet deploy, although she quickly catches herself and retracts them again. <<...Yeah. I didn't want to be a tool either. I mean... You kind of have to be in this world. But I'm one on my own terms.>> She gives the other woman's hand a reassuring squeeze, trying to provide some comfort.
Alexis Maaka     Alexis nods. <<Yeah...I got some ideas.>> She just thinks, clenching her fist. <<That was the logic I was thinking too, when I went to be a mercenary. I don't answer to anybody, beyond whoever's paying me at the time.>> The subject clears up as pizza comes, and the barkeeper mutters something along the lines of 'Bon appetite'. "Oh, food's here. 'bout time." She mops up the grease with some napkins, letting the greasy tissues be set aside as she grabs a slice, "Eat up, 's why we got here."
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima applies napkins to her own pizza, discarding the now transparent paper, before picking it up and taking a bite. She chews slowly, letting her eyes drift closed as she savors the flavors spreading across her tongue. <<This... is awesome.>> She swallows, before raising her glass again, offering the toast to Alexis this time. "To friends in unexpected places, who turn out to be really fraggin' similar."
Alexis Maaka     "To friends." Alexis grins, toasting Yumiko with a clink of glasses. She peels off her gloves, before taking a slice and biting down. Hoo boy, this was way better than she expected. It's way better pizza than this place should have a right to. "Holy shit, what's the secret to this?" She asks the bartender, who just shrugs again. "Eh, we just...use actual ingredients, none of that soy crap." "No wonder, this shit's mana from heaven compared to vat-grown stuff." "No kiddin'."
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima chows down as well, not devouring it, but taking her time to savor each bite. "I need to hang out with multiverse people more, if the food's always this good." She giggles, gently punching Alexis in the shoulder, before returning to her feast. After her third piece, she leans back a bit, taking another few sips from her drink. "Mmmmf. I should probably stop... It's delicious, but if I eat /too/ much I won't feel like getting out of bed tomorrow."
Alexis Maaka     Alexis seems to be finishing her second slice, as she watches Yumiko go like a lawnmower. "Fuck, yeah. Good point." She calls for a to-go box for the rest, making a note to maybe check out the recipe for later. She stuffs a cork in the vodka to save it for later, finishing her drink, and she pays for the food. "I still dunno how you pack away all that food, must be an elf thing. Or a mod of yours. I mean, I can put away a lot myself, but sheesh..."
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima gives a one shouldered shrug. "I dunno. I get a lot of exercise? I mean, none of the doctors I go to really do stuff like check your metabolic rate. They're more about "Making sure all of you is where it's supposed to be, and what isn't you isn't there instead." She downs her own glass, making another face and leaning against the merc as she walks out. "Most elves are vegetarians too. Where's the fun in that?"
Alexis Maaka     "Right." Alexis just snorts, "They're missin' out. Besides, need the calories and protein somehow. unless elves just process it way faster." She hsrugs, before wrapping an arm around Yumi. "C'mon, I'll take you home." The ride back is uneventful, and ALexis is still somehow sober enough to drive carefully on the way home. Once they're there, she opens the door, holding Yumi's pizza and vodka in hand. She debates a kiss goodbye, or even leaving for that matter.
Yumiko Kojima Yumiko Kojima steps over the threshhold, opening it a bit wider. Inside looks about like you'd expect, large stacks of shipping containers and packages, but a warm light shines from the raised office in the back overlooking the floor. "Stay a while? I've mapped the whole place for Wall Space software, and we can use the whole wall as a movie screen. You said there were more movies with this Arnold guy?"
Alexis Maaka     "Oh, really?" Alexis just...grins. "You bet there are." She says, chuckling darkly as she follows Yumi in, peeling off her coat and leaving leftovers aside as the door is closed. THey start with the movie about the time traveling android for starters, and Alexis just keeps going with the good ones in that actor's career...
