Touta Konoe Touta's has a busy few weeks. He's met new people in new lands, he's pretended to be a bad guy to help some good guys, he joined some sort of guild which he's still not completely sure what they do but sounded interesting to join up in regardless, and he was able to find the Warpgate to his world! With all that going on and with news of the path to the Warpgate nearly complete he can't help but get ready to get back home!

That being said, he does find time to relax and do his usual routine. Outside the dorms of the IS academy during the later hours of the night, the one of only two males residing at the Academy could be found swinging his blade down.

"Five-hundred eighty seven! Five-hundred eighty eight! Five-hundred eighty nine!"

The boy continued counting off with each sword strike. Sweat protruding down his face. It had been a smart choice to do such an activity at this hour as the heat of the sun would have probably been tedious to deal with, and the cool air of the night gave an occasional relief to the young man as he continued his strikes.

Though this was a military academy and it wouldn't have been too strange to see any of the students training, anyone who would have seen Touta's practice might raise a certain question Why was he swinging a sword while swinging a hula-hoop around his waist?
Mairead Sandilands     Yawning, MAiread heard a noise outside the open window of her room on the second floor and stood up, "Oy, what is that noise?" she states to her self as she gets her robe and wraps it around her as she heads for the door. Stopping, she looks around and heads out of her room and down the hall. Taking the stairs she walks ot the first flow and as she exits the dorm, and stops a she looks around and rubs her eyes before walking.

Thinking, Mairead summons Bearnard to her hand, and a Scottish Braodsword appears a she walks holding it as she moves ot the counting and the noise. Stopping she look and sees the person and sighs, "Touta," she says to the lad as she walks over the broad sword placed on her shoulder as she stops, "What are ye doing at this time of night?" she asks him as she stands there.

The oddest thing is, she is in a simply outfit with a braodsword, and she stands only five foot six inches tall.
Touta Konoe "Five-Hundred Ninet- Eh?"

As soon as he heard his name called he stops his strike mid-swing. Funnily enough the hula-hoop is still going as if it were automatic at this point. Facing to see Mairead it doesn't take much to see what's going on. She's got a sword in one hand, but she's still dressed in a robe and her eyes look like they just woke up. There's a bit of red that comes to his cheeks that likely was either from embarassment or just from his workout. It looks like he woke her up, whoops.

"Sorry Mairead, I couldn't really fall asleep so I thought maybe training would tire me out. I thought it was late enough where no one would here me. I'll count in my head, I promise."

Touta probably is definitely not at her height. He was only fourteen afterall and even then he's got the appearence of a twelve-year old. In regards to his own attire though, well it was a good thing most of the girls were asleep at this hour cause for one reason or another he had decided that it was a good time of night to work out without his shirt. As to why he did it though...It was mostly a training preference.
Mairead Sandilands     Blinking, Mairead looks at him and than at the sword and blinks and it fades from her hand, "Sorry," she say swith a smile. "I did not know what was going on," she says as she rubs the back of her neck. Looking at him, she sighs, "Do not worry about it laddie," she says to him as she looks at her outfit, "I should have changed," she comments as she thinks.

Shrugging, she looks at him, "What's keeping ye up?" she asks him as she walks over to him. "Ye wanna talk?" she adds.
Touta Konoe As Mairead walks over to him, he stops the hula-hooping altogether.

"Nothing really. Just when I was back in my world I always made it a priority to keep up with training, mostly it would be at night. I guess I was so use to working out at before bed that I just had extra energy to spare before sleeping is all!"

As she finally is close to him, he finds the nearest place to sit down. Did he want to talk? He wasn't really sure what to talk about but he did always enjoy a conversation at least.

"Hey Mairead, do you think when I get back to my world I'll still able to visit you and all the other friends I've made here? Like I know that people haven't had any issues swapping between worlds from what your books showed me, but there wouldn't be a reason that the Warpgate would close or only work one way or something right?"
Alucard Tepes     From the underside of the roof of a nearby building, there hangs a bat. It's a simple black bat, at first glance. But a closer look might notice some oddities about it. For starters, anyone who knows species well enough can determine that it's a vampire bat. Except... vampire bats are teeny. This one is about the size of a toy breed dog! And aren't vampire bats usually brown? This one's jet black, so dark that its fur very nearly blends with the shadows. And its yellow eyes pierce the darkness in a very weird way...
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead thinks as she places a hand to her chin as she sits, "No, the Warpgates are two way travel, and can only be stopped if they are locked down by where they are located and stops all travel to and from," she adds as she looks at him and thinks.

"Once a gate opens it is accessable to all that want to travel to it," she asy as she gestures with her left hand, "Some are good, those who are there to help and learn and to be polite," and with her left hand, she gestures as well, "And others who are not good. Those who want power and control and will offer assistance and friendship to get just that," adds.

"And then there are those who are neither good or bad, but are there to learn, help and do what they feel is right to them." and she sighs as she looks up at the stars and does not notice the bat as she sits there.
Touta Konoe "Touta, we have company."

The voice that speaks is one that Mairead has likely never heard before and there's no one else there but the two of them. At least that's how it should be. Grabbing his black katana he looks around the area and spots something in the distance. A pitch-black entity with piercing yellow eyes that illuminate in the darkness of the night. Looking back down at his blade Touta whispers, "Kurobo, you think it's friendly?"

"I don't know, but it would be wise to keep your guard up."

Once again that voice spoke, though this time Mairead would likely have the clues to realize where it was coming from. The sword! The sword was talking?!

Whether it was surprising to Mairead or not though probably wasn't the biggest concern at the moment. Touta grabbed the Hula-Hoop from the ground and retracted it down into almost a rod like shape before putting it away. A sign that he wasn't intended to fight as he was looking towards the bat.

"Seras Victoria? John Rizzo? Is that one of you guys? It's me Touta! We spoke on the comms before I think!"

He's not sure who this bat is, but he's really hoping it's someone he's spoken to before. After all, most the vampires he's talked to seemed so pleasant so far, he'd rather keep that trend going if he could.
Mairead Sandilands     Blinking, Mairead looks around, "Who said that?" she asks as she looks. "It is only the two of us," she adds as she hears the voice againa nd blinks at the weapon Touta holds, "Ye sword talks?" she asks as she stands and looks aorund with her eyes and she thinks as the sensors from her IS activate and she sees in all directions at once, "I do not see anything," she says to him as she looks to where Touta is lookign and blinks, "What are those ...." and she rubs her eyes as she blinks, and does not do anything just yet. "I can only see what looks like two dots, of yellow," she says with her Scottish accented voice.

Waiting she gets ready, still not dong anything and knows that Touta is going to be good at fighting if it comes to that and she can fight as well. However, she just stands there to see what happens.
Alucard Tepes     The bat makes a sound, one that only vampiric hearing (or an animal's) can pick up very well. It's a loud "SCREEEEEE!" A high-pitched sound that borders on ultrasonic -- ultimately though, while possibly annoying it doesn't cause any real damage.

Mairead, if she has normal human hearing, may only hear a faint 'squeeeek~'.

However, it's clear that he's been found out. So the bat drops from the roof, catching itself on its wings -- wings that glow RED in the inside! Yeah, that's not a normal bat; Touta's sword has sharp instincts. The bat comes to hover about Mairead's head height... and then begins to change. With a soft swish and a 'reversed' hissing sound, the bat grows in a heartbeat to man-sized. And...

...That sure is a vampire. Like, literally chapter and verse, 'vampire'. Super-pale, near-white hair, mostly black Victorian nobleman's outfit, black cape with a high collar and a slowly pulsing red glow on the inside. That is indeed a vampire.

However, the trend does seem to keep going. As instead of immediately going for someone's throat, the pale man with gentle gray eyes bows, in the way of a nobleman. "Forgive me," he offers quietly, to both. His voice is abnormally deep for his almost delicate features. "It was not my intention to eavesdrop." That's a big fat stodgy lie, but he continues on, regardless. "I am called Alucard. I am ally to John Rizzo."
Touta Konoe Touta's was honestly just about ready to swing at Alucard if he had gotten any closer to the two of them without introducing himself. I mean, could he blame them if they attacked him? He just started greeting them only after turning from a vampire bat into a person!!! Like that's vampire fighting 101 right?

There's a sigh of relief in Touta's voice though as the vampire introduces himself. He can't say he's quite calm yet but he has found enough composure to laugh just a bit at the situation.

"So your Johny's friend? Nice to meet ya! Still, just a heads up you should probably try introducing yourself BEFORE changing. I seriously thought I was going to have to swing at you or something."

Touta puts his blade into his left hand as he extends his right out to shake Alucard's. "Really glad we didn't need to though. Like I said before, I'm Touta. Touta Konoe. I'm a vampire as well. Uhm, just not the kind that can change into a bat...I think, I've never really tried before."
Alucard Tepes     Truth be told, Alucard was expecting to be swung at. That's sort of why he showed up as a bat, because they can usually blend in better than 'hey this pale guy moves like water'. That's how you get pitchforks and torches back where he's from. He nods to Touta however, and notes, "My apologies. It is difficult to speak in that form." As for being Rizzo's friend? This gets a nod. "I owe him much; he saved someone who was very important to me, who I thought would be lost."

Alucard does return the handshake. His skin is cool to the touch, but not the exact same temperature as the ambient air. There's warmth there -- ever so slight a trace of living warmth. Touta's assertion that he can't change forms gets an ever-so-slight tilt of his head. "That could be. There are many types of vampires in the Multiverse. Perhaps your strain lacks this power. Or perhaps, as you said, it is because you have simply never tried."
Touta Konoe The sensation of the cold touch throws him off for a moment. He can't tell if this chilled hand is simply from this weather or if it's Alucard's natural body temperature. Though the reassurance of fsome warmth does make all the difference.

Touta thinks for a moment about that particular skill trait though when he brings up changing into a bat. It did seem like a pretty common conception about vampires. He never saw Yukihime, the one who turned him ever turn into a bat so it would make sense that he couldn't. Or maybe it was just the case that she could do so much cooler stuff she never felt the need. After all, why turn into a bat if you can already fly and use magic right? So all he can really do is shrug.

"Who knows. I'm not too worried about it. Still, Not gonna lie I am surprised that so many vampires I've met here are all so nice. Talk about breaking stereotypes right? Actually, speaking of stereotypes...Alucard...Are you like, THE Alucard? Like the vampire among vampires Alucard?"

He's not sure if that makes any sense to Alucard but Touta's probably heard Alucard referenced once or twice in different stories when it came to vampires. It only made sense that he would ask if there was any relation or if it was just a name coincidence.
Alucard Tepes     Alucard nods. "Do not rush your development," he suggests. "You will likely grow stronger as you age. Perhaps you will learn these things as you grow more powerful. Perhaps you will not need them."

Here Touta asks The Question. Not the detective, no -- the question that usually sets Alucard on edge. There's visible tension in his shoulders for a moent, before he visibly relaxes. "If you mean Dracula Vlad Tepes, he is my father," he admits. Ne sense denying it. "But he is not the same Vlad Tepes in many worlds. I have heard many of the legends," he assures.
Touta Konoe Nods at Alucard's suggestion. It was true, at most he had been a vampire for what was a year. Even now he felt like he could get stronger, it was actually less of a feeling and more of a necessity for him actually. What he was more surprised about was Alucard's response to his last question. The tension arising from him and his explanation of his familial relationship sort of resonated with Touta to a certain degree. Perhaps it wasn't the exact same tensions but tensions none the less.

"Huh, well that doesn't matter then. After all, you're you and your dad's your dad, or Vlad's Vlad...You get what I'm saying I think."
Mairead Sandilands     Looking as the bat hovers at her head height, she takes a step back and waits as she gets ready to summon her broadsword, however, when the bat changes she slowly waits to see what happens. As the young man her height bows and apologizes, she looks him over and studies him. As he bows, Mairead stands up and curtsy's in return, bowing her head, "Greetings," she says to him as she thinks.

"Me name is Mairead Sandilands, and I am the Repersentative Cadet/Candidate of Scotland here at the IS Academy," she says as she introduces herself. "Alucard..." and she raises an eyebrow as she caught the name as it was pronounced and the word vampire. "Aye, ye are like Dracula in the book written by Bram Stroker," she mentions to him as he talks about who his father is and she sits back down to listen.

She has not met many Vampires before, outside of Touta and just relaxes as she covers her mouth and yawns. "I did not even know you where here until Touta's katana talked," she states as she looks up at Touta and grins. "I am sure ye will learn, may take some practice from a good teacher," she adds as she listens and sits back and rubs her eyes.
Touta Konoe Touta can't help but think that Mairead's probably seen a fair amount more supernatural entities than most of the other students and friends she has here at this point. As she mentions his katana though he lights up for a moment.

"Oh right! I never mentioned that before, this is my Sable Sidesti-"

"My name is Kurobo. It's a pleasure to speak with you Mairead Sandilands. I thank you for looking over Touta all this time. If not for you, I fear what may have become of him at this point."

Touta stops and looks down at his blade with a look of confusion. "You make it sound like I would have been dead on my own or something."

"You clearly don't remember how lost we were before you spotted Mairead's IS. You owe her a great deal at this point. Also in regards to your vampire conundrum, you likely won't be turning into a flying rodent anytime soon. That would require some a certain amount of magical potential at least. It's best if you stick to what you have, besides if you turned into a bat how would you expect to carry me around?"
Mairead Sandilands     Chuckling, MAiread looks, "A pleasure to meet ye Kurobo," she says to the weapon. "Touta does not owe me anything, I would have helped anyone who had needed it," she states as she thinks for a moment. "He is me friend and if I need help, I will ask and I will do the same if asked," she says to the three of them and sh eis the only one here who is a human with no special powers or abilities and all she has is her IS which is more or less power armor.
Touta Konoe Touta gives a big smile as he hangs an arm around Mairead's shoulders. "That's why you're so awesome, Mairead! I mean, you were literally flying all over the place when you found me. You could have just went on your way and not make a big deal of it, but you stopped to make sure everything was alright. You have no idea how amazing that is, and don't even get me started on that IS! You literally blasted all those Seals away back at the river too." He gets a mischevious grin on his face as he leans in a bit more.

"So just to make sure, you're okay with vampires but Lochness Monster's still a no-go?" He's continuing this terrible joke about Mairead being afraid of the Seals because they look like the Lochness Monster, even AFTER she blew a decent amount of them up.
Mairead Sandilands     Blinking, Mairead laughs, "Aye, the Lochness Monster is a myth on me world, but could be real on others, and I have met a few Vampires here already and well, there ar emany things here that are going to be myth and legends to some and common to others," she states. "Besides, those seals were probably shocked ot see what happened to them. I am not a fan of hurting people or creatures, but had to." she adds.
Touta Konoe Touta keeps hanging on Mairead, "It's fine, those monsters are apparently some sort of magical beasts or something. They get pretty violent so we end up having to deal with them now and again. Trust me, they aren't the kinds of animal you have time to feel sorry for when you meet them. Now that you mention it though, I'm not really sure if the Lochness Monster is real or not in my world. I think we have something even more similar than the Seals back in the cave were we keep them. Though maybe we'll get a glimpse of him real quick when the path to the Warpgate is finished. I heard the Flotilla are almost done with it. Still, I really want you to meet all my pals back home when we get the chance! Maybe Ikku-Senpai could help add some cool stuff to your IS!"
Mairead Sandilands     Thinking, MAiread nods, "I would liek to see your world, and I doubt Ikku would be able to," she says. "An IS is very stubborn and there is no guarantee that it will accept new weapons or devices, as they ahve to be connected to the IS and than programmed in. The Equalizers can be added, but there is a chance they will be rejected and that is out of my control." she comments to him. "My new IS is not ever fully developed, as this is a new one, so it will take time to get to its first form and there will be changes to it, but I do not know what or when that will happen," she adds.

Yawning again, she sits back and closes her eyes as she just sits there and slowly falls asleep with Touta hanging on her and is happy to have friends here and with these friends those who she trusts and will be there when they need her.
