Cu Chulainn After some hectic adventures and a stressful night last night, Cu Chulainn has decided to get to know the rest of the Paladins better, doing a fun activity he loves. So he's decided to take everyone fishing.

The destination is a lake in the middle of a forest out in England. It's a secluded little spot with plenty of fish. The trees are fresh and green, the water is crisp and shining, birds are chirping, and there's a little ridge near the water where Cu Chulainn's already set up, lawn chairs, fishing rods, and a big bag of chips all left out for people to get comfortable. He has not brought booze, because Gilgamesh said he'd be handling that.

For now, Cu Chulainn's starting to put bait on his personal rod, placing it on the hook. He's also already gotten into the chips. He's a hungry dog.
Orchid      Well, there was an exciting day out in the field, playing conductor to a band of allies, coordinating them to capture a number of ships. Since then? Hard work cleaning out and repairing the ships, along with some wheeling and dealing to get the people problems sorted out.

So yeah, Orchid was glad for a chance to take a break, and if that involved observing the odd habits of organic Paladins? Sure, sounds like fun. She arrives without her usual armor, instead wearing jeans and a short jacket over a t-shirt. She's not bringing anything with her aside from herself, and one of her spiders, but she's respecting the location enough to come in on foot, and not disrupt the peace of the place. She arrives a good 30 yards from where Cu Chulainn is, looking around for anyone else who might be there, before tromping over to his camp. "'Allo!"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa fishing? That's something Kotone would know given she grew up in a small town on the Canadian West Coast. So she had brought a few things with her though Cu was providing most of the gear she would turn up dressed fairly casually and she's dressed for fall weather too light jacket pants, boots and the like. She's also left the high tech fishing gear behind as she moves ti sit down in a chair and start working on getting set up to fish.
Gilgamesh      It's impossible not to notice Gilgamesh arrive.

For one, the King of Heroes is carrying a spear. It's a red, twisting spear, long and splendorous, a weapon of the finest art and the finest magic. Its beauty is incredible; its craftsmanship is glorious. The red and twisted spear sits against his shoulder as he walks.

The other reason is that aura of glory that says I AM HERE in loud, loud, *loud* magical 'words.' It's an aura that says that the King has Arrived, an unmistakable filling of the air with a sort of shining majesty that hasn't existed since the Age of the Gods, since the Age of Mythology, since a time long ago when gods and heroes walked the Earth unclad and unhidden.

Speaking of unclad, the third reason it's impossible not to notice him is that he's buck goddamn naked.

     Utterly, completely nude.

He's *gorgeous*, and his claims of being *perfect*, at least on a physical level, are not at all incorrect. There's no sign of the red tattoos that occasionally show up on his body, and every sign of divine muscles able to tear apart steel, and every sign of a divine physiology that doesn't give a good goddamn about things like /colds/ or /sickness/ or /getting wet/. As if a cold could really bother Gilgamesh in any meaningful way.

The King of Heroes waves his hand as he stops next to the group. A ripple opens in the air. Gleaming gold goblets, bedecked with jewels, land, along with an end table that is probably solid gold. A pitcher of alcohol so sweet and so fine that it might threaten drunkenness just from the *smell* touches down.

Then the King of Heroes stretches, raises his spear into the air, and dives in head-first.
Cu Chulainn For his part, Cu Chulainn's dressed in a colorful Hawaiian shirt, green with yellow and red flower designs, and a pair of leather pants with a chain. The Lancer turns as people start arriving, shifting towards Orchid as she greets him by throwing a wave. "Hey! Come on over, we're just getting started." Kotone sets up as well and gets a nod and the bag of chips passed towards her, but it's Gilgamesh that draws eyes.

Not because he's naked, because Cu Chulainn doesn't actually care about that whatsoever (he's an ancient Celt from a knightly brotherhood, after all), but because of the spear he's wielding. "Hey, king." A mutter under his breath, probably loud to hear. "Why does everyone have a copy these days?!"

The booze is appreciated, though, and Cu immediately goes to sip from a goblet. "Thank you for the booze." It's excellent. Not enough to ruin him on the booze, because of how much he likes booze, but excellent enough to make him miss it when the day is done. "So, we've got a nice little group here. How are you all doing? Get up to anything interesting?"

Since others are fishing, the fish themselves are interesting. They probably don't match up to ancient Babylonian superfish or whatever Gilgamesh hunted, but they're bigger than average for sure, and more aggressive. There seems to be more meat on their bone, like they're the perfect specimen of fish. It's kind of weird...but there's a reason Cu Chulainn likes them. Especially when they struggle hard, especially against Gilgamesh, though a spear is, well, super efficient to making them stop struggling, and especially one with that quality.
Orchid      Orchid gives Cu and Kotone friendly smiles as she approach. Gilgamesh's arrival also turns her head... which doesn't turn away until the king enters the lake. A look both appreciative and considering. She shakes her head, grinning, as she turns to the end table. A small cup to start with, she doesn't know for sure that she's immune to the human poison. "Well, I've been working on the ships over in Kahului harbor," she replies to their host. "Mostly cleaning them up, making sure the computers work, looking for flaws in the hull. That sort of thing."
Gilgamesh      Babylon didn't have superfish, don't be ridiculous.

     He hunted leviathans.

And krakens, once, in the deep Nordic winter. That was an unpleasant one for more than one of his spears. The northern coast was cold even in the age when the lands of the gods dotted the world.

As the three of them drink, Gilgamesh swims. The drink is...ridiculously strong, and ridiculously tasty. It's the sort of thing humans don't /get/ to drink. Calling it 'human poison' is underestimating the sheer power in that golden nectar, the sheer sweet taste of it. It's something that can only have come from a divine realm. Something that can only have come from a world apart. Finer than anything that could be made today, finer than anything that coud be made a thousand years ago, finer than anything that could be made by human hand. Whether swords or wine, only the finest in the treasury of the King of All Creation.

The strong fish are extremely entertaining. He's down there for a reasonably long time, facing off against them as if they were the beasts of old. He hasn't done this in a *while*. Even the King is still /basically/ human-ish - he can't breathe underwater, and he can only swim so well, which means that eventually he has to come up for air. He has the good graces to do so away from the hooks and the lines, though, away from the area where people are fishing with less efficient means, probably both to avoid scaring away fish and to avoid getting hooks in his skin.

He climbs onto the shore, red blade in hand, several large fish skewered on the end of it. He walks over to the group. There's another snap of his fingers, and a comfortable-looking gold chair just falls out of a ripple, which he sits down on, crosses his legs, and relaxes in. The red spear he swings in the direction of the group, fish dangling off it.

"Here," the King says, "I have no need to eat something like this. They are all yours. Feel free to thank me for my graciousness."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa accept the bag of chips and cracks it open, to start noming on them as she casts her line and then just goes a bit slacked jaw at Gil. It's not he's spearfishing, she can get that. It's seeing the King of Kings naked and that's something for good or ill she can never unseen with how her mind works. She looks quite sheepish and then looks away a moment before Gil goes diving into the water to fish.

"Didn't expect that."

She notes as she casts again hoping she doesn't /snag/ on Gil by accident. She also looks to Orchid for a moment tiling her head for a moment.

"Just looking to fish a bit and relax I don't care much I catch anything and yes that's been quite the salvage job. The Alliance is pretty thrilled about some ships being recovered and any data, who knows they might get leverage over the Empire with what we found and that's always a good thing."

She doesn't seem to like the American Empire much from her tone. She then will take a moment to rest her rod and try some of the drinks Gil has brought to share.

"Thank you seems you already had some sport, well those are pretty large for around here so far as I'm aware."
Cu Chulainn While Gilgamesh goes spear-fishing, those with rods can also start getting bites. At one point, Cu tugs back hard on his rod as a fish bites the hook, trying to reel it in. After a bit and back and forth, he catches it...

Though Gilgamesh returns with way more fish than he could have caught in that time. There's an appreciative whistle. "Thanks, king! You're a pretty cool guy. Didn't take you for the fishing type, I'd have to say, especially not like that. Do you usually do this sort of stuff in your free time?" Taking some of the fish and putting them in a cooler, Cu turns to reply about the American Empire stuff. "Huh. Where'd you get these ships from? And who's this Alliance?" He's not /super/ interested, but he's still curious. Making some small-talk while you fish is what it's all about when you bring friends, after all.
Orchid      Trouble is, if you gave everything Gilgamesh did or provided the attention it was due, you'd be basically doing the stoner thing of just staring at the thing for about an hour, absolutely fascinated. After a while, it becomes the new normal. At least, that's how Orchid handles it.
However, she is NOT going to chug this booze. She is going to sip, and let that sip linger on her tongue before swallowing. This still takes her enough time that the King can fish and return.
"Hmm? Oh yes, very well done," Orchid replies to the king. "Personally, I'm glad they agreed to making one of the ships a museum. Just for the long-term benefits, if nothing else. And we took the ships from some pirates that were squatting in them."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks to Cu for a moment at the question and is more than happy to reply. "They were in an old Naval Base that had been left to rot after the third world war. Some pirate were starting to put them to use and we been on hire from the Ameri Russio Alliance to reclaimed the area so we went in to handle it. It's an alliance of Part of what was America, Canada and Russia. A lot of major changes happen to my world in the early to mid-2000s. Cybernetics, computers, AI. The crash of the Oil Barons. Even the ability to clean up nuclear waste and fallout."

she notes and pauses as she gets a bite. and stars trying to reel it in.
Gilgamesh      Gilgamesh chuckles. "I did many things in my time. This age of human depravity has not dulled my survival skills in the slightest."

He drops the fish off into a pile, then discards the spear. It vanishes into the ripple. He shifts legs. "Nor would I let it. Simply because this world refuses to grow strong does not mean I am willing to let it make me weak."

Otherwise, though, he's mostly listening. And, a little bit, sunbathing.

Even the King enjoys the warm sun.
Cu Chulainn "Oho." Another sip of booze from Cu as they talk about the pirates and the museum. "Sounds like a lot of fun. Were the pirates any tough?" And then, a glance towards Gilgamesh. "Yeah? What's your favorite hobby? Mine should be pretty obvious: fighting, fishing, drinking."

As Kotone gets a bite, Cu Chulainn tilts forward in his chair. "Nice, reel it in! Gotta be a big one, they're all big around here!" Trying to cheer her on and also get into the spirit, since his rod currently isn't being hooked.
Gilgamesh      "Experiencing pleasure."

Gilgamesh looks Cu in the eye and shifts his legs again. "All the pleasures of the world are mine for the sampling, from wine to women on down. Even the exquisite, glorious pleasure of denying another man something he wants. There is no pleasure I have not sampled, no joy I have not experienced, and seeking those pleasures further is the greatest hobby of them all."
Orchid      "Their computer security was... Well, they kept it offline, but past that," Orchid shrugs. "No, I wouldn't call them tough. We were able to get a number to surrender, most of the rest either fled or were captured."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa starts to reel in the fish. "I wonder what I have caught." She muses as she moves to reel it. She seems to be just chilling in. She finds the fish while pretty strong is going to tire eventually and she's clearly thinking about what she's doing here trying to tire the fish out a bit before reeling it in to be dinner.
Cu Chulainn Kotone reels in a big meaty fish, something really good, as Cu Chulainn just laughs at Gilgamesh. It's a good-natured laugh, not expecting that reply. "That sounds like a king, alright. But in a way, it's a good, simple hobby. Do what you love, right?" And then, Cu Chulainn stands up with the rod, and moves to hook it again.

"Alright! I'm gonna catch a big one. Come on, fish!" While he's still available to talk, Cu Chulainn's throwing all in. He doesn't want to be outstaged by the others, after all.
