Gawain The distress signal went off at a Paladins holding facility several minutes ago. Located in an idyllic locale, with trees around the facility and wood-framing around the building, there was currently a break-out situation. At the front desk, two guards were down (unconscious, thankfully). They'd been disarmed quickly, and the elevator downwards, towards the holding facility, had been used.

The hallways down below were long and crowded, and there'd already be a guard taken down there as well. It seems the perpetrator was a man with 'a bunch of guns and swords', according to a radio call, which would peg it as the Multiversal Grail War Archer.

Simultaneously, far down in the underground facility, there was a jailbreak going on. Misha, Archer's Master, who had been in holding for quite some time now, decided this was the best time to stage an escape. During his eating, he had faked choking, waited for the guard to come in, disarmed him, took his gun, and was now moving through the corridors himself. They were somewhat snake-like, as it was a decent-sized facility, and it'd be a bit before the two reached each other.

Of course, with some already down, there was room for interlopers to arrive as well. This is sure to lead into chaos.
Karian Icefang     With the distress signal going off, it was only natural there would be a heavy response. 'Heavy' meaning that the Astartes of the Space Wolves were currently deploying into the facility, prepping for close-quarters combat. While normally they would be going in with lethal force authorized, this wasn't an imperial facility, and as such would attempt less then lethal unless forced. Leading the force was the Master of the Multiveral Grail War's Rider, Karian. "Rider, if you come across and other servants inside, engage. Don't wait for orders." He instructs, giving the hand order to his men to go in.
Reiji Arisu It was probably inevitable. Procedural delays and due caution could only go so far until the Russian finally lost patience. It isn't long after the sirens begin to wail that someone else enters the facility-- someone who /also/ matches the description of a man with 'a bunch of guns and swords.'

But this one isn't staging a break-in.

Reiji rises from the side of a fallen guard, his fingers coming away from where he had been checking for the man's pulse. "Officer wounded," Reiji recites, monotone. "Ping my location for retrieval. I'm heading in after the Archer."

Archer. That's funny.

Nobody in his family has used bows in generations, and still he ended up as 'Archer.'

The swordsman breathes a long sigh and rushes onward, moving with all speed down the narrow, winding corridors. His father is up ahead-- it's impossible to miss that kind of presence.

But what will he have to do when they meet?

No, doesn't matter. He'll decide in the moment, when the time comes.
Archer EMIYA      Another distress call, another day where Archer has to help clean up someone else's mess. He doesn't mind that much though, otherwise he wouldn't be here.

Not one to sit by the sidelines and think things out, the Nameless Hero waltzes into police station, deciding it's best to handle things hands on.

A pair of black and white swords flash into Archer's hands as he pushes through the building, making note of the downed guards as he attempts to deduce the path the Enemy Archer has taken.
Ritsuka Fujimaru      Since her last assault on the modern world, Jeanne had taken a brief respite to recollect herself and gather her thoughts on just how different things are now compared to the world she had known. There was no end to the number of targets she could find for her righteous fury, but deciding which ones to go after first was an exercise in futility due to the sheer number of them.

And then the distress call came.

Striding towards the entrance of the facility, Jeanne spies several people heading in already. Nobody she recognizes, but a few with a recognizable energy that has her hand already clenching the sword at her side in anticipation. Should she? Should she not? It'd be impressive to start a fire at the entrance where outside observers could actually see it and draw attention that way, but starting one inside could sow more chaos among those already in there before exploding outwards. Maybe...

Definitely outside. With her course of action set in her mind, Jeanne keeps her sword planted firmly in her scabbard while she strolls towards the entrance of the facility and spies those guards. She contemplates her options, raises the flag from where it had rested against her cracked pauldron, and immolates...

... Not the guards! She starts a little bit furhter inside, just enough that the guards aren't caught in the flames directly. She'll need witnesses for this, after all.
Eryl Fairfax     Slowly but surely, ice creeps over the surrounding woodland, freezing trees all the way through the trunk. Hoarfrost grows in-between the plant life, gradually creating a barrier that surrounds the Paladin outpost. The source of it, a bearded man with bird feet and a long nose, a slow grin peeking out behind his sliver facial hair.

Caster has been lying in wait for a good while. With the Master locked up, the Servant would come eventually. A perfect ambush opportunity, finally bearing fruit. The others present pose a difficulty, but nothing he couldn't handle.

Unseasonal snow begins to fall, the skies above becoming overcast, chilling winds blowing through.
Gawain Moving alongside Karian is the massive blonde Rider in armor, also known as Sanguinius. "Understood, Master." He responds, as they approach into the facility. The team moves through the corridors, eventually reaching a more wide central area, though as they do so, Rider stops, turning back towards the entrance. "Something feels off. They may be luring us into a trap. I'll hold the rear." Rider then proceeds to take guard near the entrance of this area, instead of pushing ahead to deal with the Paradox Archer and his Master.

EMIYA, likely at the lead and deducing the pathway, would be the first to see them. The Paradox Archer, a man in a colorful hoodie with black hair and an interlocked chain of guns and swords, ends up meeting up with a black-haired pale Russian man. The Archer speaks first. "Hey, hey, hold on, aren't you supposed to be in a cell? I'm here to rescue you!" "Please, I broke out on my own." "Yeah, but- hold that thought, cavalry's arrived." Paradox Archer turns in the direction of the group, and is about to say something, when Rider speaks up...

Because up above, the building has burnt down. The fire spread to the wood support, tearing it down, and is coming through the facility. Rider speaks up to alert the group. "There's a fire. This must be an ambush. Keep on guard, several of us should return up top. There's guards in the line of fire, and it'd be a cruel death to leave them to burn."

Paradox Archer just welps. "Well, there goes our easy avenue of escape. Hey, you guys don't mind if we just walk past you, do you? No need to fight or anything, just want to go home, maybe watch some television. That's cool with you?" It's a little snarky, a cocky grin. He doesn't expect them to just let him walk out...but maybe they can reach a negotiation?
Karian Icefang     Karian nods towards Rider. "Good catch. I'll send my men back to get the guards above." He then looks back towards Archers master and shakes his head. "No. You've already broken out and likely harmed guards doing their job. If your going anywhere, it's back to your cell."
Reiji Arisu EMIYA is not in fact at the head of the group.

Because /this guy/ is.

"Not sure I can let you do that," Reiji says, emerging from the corridor where smoke is already beginning to billow. He reaches a cigarette into the flame, letting its tip catch fire before bringing it to the corner of his mouth. "We've got a serious situation on our hands. For your own safety, I'm going to need to ask that you both stay put until we can resolve it."

"Otherwise," the skunk-haired swordsman deadpans, his tone serious and even, "I'll have to keep you both here by force. Television can be arranged, but not so much your departure. Not under these conditions."
Archer EMIYA      EMIYA simply chuckles at the Archer's request, clearly amused.

"I'd love to just let you two go, but unfortunately if I did that it'd be a lot harder to set up play dates in the future compared to if you were just both behind bars."

He idly twirls the swords in his hands as he gives the Archer a witty retort. Honestly, he has half a mind to just pull out his bow and end this whole confrontation as soon as possible, but he's pretty sure that's against Paladin regulations. They also aren't godless abominations (he thinks) so he can't use that as an excuse for escalating things either.
Ritsuka Fujimaru      A deranged smile creeps along Jeanne's face as she watches the flames rise, finding some comfort in the purity of it. The sight of snow not far behind it is odd, however, and she steps through the flames to peer at that unnatural weather before turning to head further into the facility.

No sense sticking around with just one entrance sealed, after all. No, the rest of the place needs to burn as well. Spotting quite a few people further ahead, some of which are most certainly Servants by her reckoning, the white-haired woman bursts into laughter as she raises her flag towards the group.

"Such bold sinners, all of you. I'm afraid there is no escape for you or your Masters today, though. Bask in the flames of my hatred!" As Jeanne shouts, fire lashes out from around her indiscriminately, leaving scorches along the walls and threatening to burn up everyone in their paths!
Eryl Fairfax     Snow begins to fall, starting as soft sleet but then rapidly picking up into harsh hail that rattles against the roof like a staccato. Said hailstones are razor sharp, so they embed in whatever surface they dig into, gradually adding weight. This also renders the outdoors a hazard zone.

The winds pick up, pushing against the windows enough to make them creak and crack. One shatters, allowing icy winds to blow into the building, fighting the flames. Throughout it all, Caster reclines on a tree branch above and wiggles his fingers.

"Hurry up and freeze, vermin," he grumbles to himself.
Eryl Fairfax     "Back to my cell?" Misha asks, looking at Karian incredulously. "My cell, in this building that is on fire? Are you serious? Is this normal Paladin practice, to let prisoners just burn to death?" Archer just gives an exaggerated shrug in response, then affects a gasp of shock as Reiji comes out to back that assertation. "Son! You would let me die again here, just like that?! I thought I raised you better. If you wanna kill me, do it with your own hands!"

And now there is Archer, and Avenger. "Are you all seriously letting Servants from other wars getting involved?" Misha asks incredulously. "You Paladins must be the most mismanaged organization I've ever seen, and I worked for the Soviets!" He scratches his chin and sighs. "Hey Archer my Archer, don't get any ideas Tall, Tan and Handsome these guys have been /great hosts/ so let's show 'em something on the way out, as way of thanks."

The Paradox Archer cracks a wide grin, and looks Reiji right in the eyes. "Watch closely kiddo. You might learn something."

Ironically, this statement is followed by a gunshot, as Misha uses a concealed pilfered forearm to shoot a fire extinguisher. The compressed carbon dioxide fills the air, obscuring their form, but Paradox Archer claps his hands and begins to boldly chant. As he does, his weapons begin to revolve around him and glow in multifaceted colors.

HI FU MI YO I MU NA YA KO TO MO CHI RO RA NE SHI KI RU YU I TSU WA NU SO O TA HA KU ME KA U O E NI SA RI HE TE NO MA SU A SE E HO RE KE

More shots ring out from that gun of Misha's aimed at pushing everyone back as Paradox Archer completes his preparation for whatever he's doing. Finally, the Servant intones ina voice that makes the air crackle, the very earth tense up.

NOBLE PHANTASM: SHINRA BANSHO - ONE WITH ALL CREATION

Instantly, the metal bars on the jail cells leap from the walls and hurl themselves at those who stand in Misha and Archer's path. They bend like water, forming nets that attempt to entangle them before resolidifying. At the same time, water pipes erupts from the ground before them and blast their contents with pressure surpassing a firehose, trying to knock them all back. Further still, the concrete underfoot and above rippes, a spire of stone lifting up to carry the Master and Servant pair upwards, the stone moving freely to permit them!
Karian Icefang     Karian grits his teeth as the shot is sent towards the fire extinguisher. "Nice try, but wolves are master hunters." But then Reiji's dad unleashes his noble phantasm. He braces against the rush of water and anything else sent his way. After a brief chat, he opts to focus his efforts on tracking down Misha, and showing the man he wasn't going to escape.
Reiji Arisu "Kill you?" Reiji's expression morphs into one of shock, before immediately hardening into something inscrutable. "After everything that happened, you're going to joke about something like that...?"

There are interruptions. The black saintess unleashes her flames and the brief lull where Reiji is forced to defend himself with a scything blow of his smaller blade is more than enough time for Misha to blast a hole straight through a fire extinguisher. What follows is...

"What--" Reiji sucks in a breath as he feels the elements of the world... shift and churn. "This technique... This Shinra Bansho, when did you come up with this...!?" And why had he never been taught it?

No.

Hesitation breeds only death.

The son locks eyes with the father as the world turns against him. Reiji spits his cigarette to the side, his stance dropping low and ready. "I'm going on ahead. Whatever this is, I'd never forgive myself for looking away now. First--!"

Prison bars flow like lashes of liquid metal. Reiji surges forward, roaring as he draws his longer blade. A vast plume of fire smashes into the churning steel, "Fire melts Metal! And next...!"

A jet of water catches him in the shoulder, tearing through his armored jacket with all the pressure of the deepest sea. Something shifts, Reiji exchanges one blade for another as a crackle of lightning suddenly tears through the flowing water, flash-vaporizing the stream before it can bore through his body. "Earth dams Water! And third...!"

The pillar rises. Reiji growls as he leaps, a third weapon coming away from his personal arsenal. Hollywood discharges, firing blast after blast into the rising concrete. Where the blasts impact, the stone seems to split and harden-- allowing Reiji to race up its surface...! "Wood roots Earth! Father, I'm not letting you get away so easily! Not this time!"
Archer EMIYA      Shinra Bansho? That's not a name connected to any Heroic Spirit he's familiar with. How very annoying, to put it mildly. Jeanne's indiscriminate firing isn't doing much to help either. In fact the fire is MORE of an issue at the moment as far as he's concerned.

EMIYA drops the swords he's holding, the blades disintegrating before they even have a chance to hit the ground as he turns around to face Jeanne.

"I am the bone of my sword..."

The Red Archer raises a single hand in front of him, a pink barrier shaped very much like a flower appearing in front of him to stop the flames.

"Your flames will never penetrate the seven layers, Rho Aias!"

The 'shield' does a very good job at holding back the flames. It doesn't do so good at the 'not getting penetrated' thing EMIYA said though, as a layer is clearly shaved away from the destructive might of the Avenger's fire, causing them to grimace in visible pain.

"Haha, yeesh. And here I thought Avengers were suppose to be weak. Anyway, wanna set aside your grudge against humanity for like five or so minutes and help us? I'll make it worth your time. Honest."

There's an attempt at bargaining, but the sound of his voice makes it clear that he doesn't believe he's gonna get through to the woman.
Ritsuka Fujimaru      For Jeanne, hearing Misha (whoever he is) scolding the responders (Paladins?) is amusing to say the least. Her desire to immolate everyone and everything here is momentarily held back by a twisted sense of curiousity to see just what Misha and the Paradox Archer are up to, although the distraction provided by the weather outside getting even worse certainly helps keep her from following up that flame strike against the pair right away.

The Noble Phantasm confirms it. She shows no interest in pursuit, however, nor does she move to stop Reiji from going after Misha. There's clearly some history between them, and wasting her time trying to stop them wouldn't help her complete her task in the facility in any way.

Her attention is instead focused on Archer as her faces her directly. His comment about Avengers draws a raised eyebrow from Jeanne as she points her sword towards him, narrowing her eyes. "You've met other Avengers, then? Hmph. If they truly are so weak, then don't lump me in with them!" There's a scowl on her face as the fires continue licking at the walls and ceiling behind her, but she isn't launching another attack his way yet.

"... What are you proposing? Is it something that would be so important that you would stop me from exterminating the sinners within these walls?" It's... Working? So far, at least, if not having Jeanne setting even more fires counts.
Gawain While EMIYA deals with Jeanne Alter, Paradox Archer and Misha have a problem of their own - Reiji Arisu. While the younger man's unaware of Shinra Bansho, he knows how to deal with elements. The metal is melted away by the fire, while the lightning turns the flowing water into nothing but steam. As the pillar rises, Reiji starts to create a way to climb, which causes Paradox Archer to just laugh. "Good! You've got skill, Reiji. But I think I'm by far the more experienced one, and I can't be sitting in a cell with Misha. We know what's going to happen if I continue to sit - eventually, one of your higher-up's gonna order a bullet in my head so your armored buddy can win this war. And if you're supporting him, well..."

"I guess that makes us enemies?"

There's a shake of the head, as Misha, on the pillar which is cracking, points the gun again and moves to fire it at Reiji. It's not going to hit him at the angle it's flying...what is his gameplan? It seems to make sense though when the bullet suddenly stops in midair, and then starts speeding up again, changing course rapidly and gracefully. It suddenly goes careening for Reiji's leg, trying to hit in his kneecap and stop his ascent!

Meanwhile, the earth above splits open, revealing the sun and the air above. Paradox Archer says another thing to Reiji, before moving to try and push him off the pillar with a boot as the bullet possibly impacts. "How about this time I call you? We still need to catch up, but I'm not doing it from a jail cell. I'll make sure and do it soon. Scout's honor."

Shogo Arisu was never a scout.
Archer EMIYA      "Didn't think that'd work. Give me a moment."

EMIYA let's out a deep breath, firmly grasping his right wrist with his left hand as he rolls his hand around to try and regain the feeling in his nerves.

He also needs to think, and think quick. He really doesn't have many things to offer her, and the things she probably wants are things he's not about to provide her... Well, the least he can do is TRY.

"Well to be fair, I never met that Avenger. I just know that he did a lot more dead then he ever did when he was alive.

EMIYA switches the hand he is rolling mid sentence."Anyway, you don't have a house, right? Nor food? Last I recall, you're living in the sewers... So it's like this, help us take care of the OTHER Archer over there... And I'll get you situated somewhere. Off the map and away from everyone trying to get you to go to therapy or whatever. Alone to brood in your dark thoughts as you plan to kick puppies and burn churches and whatever it is you do."

There's a very loud voice in the back of Archer's head telling him what he's offering is a very bad and un-Paladin-y thing to do, not to mention the potential problems it might cause in Moon Cell, but he's willing to risk it.
Ritsuka Fujimaru      Jeanne's attention has all but veered away from the encounter between the Arisus, focusing on Archer for the time being even as embers continue to dance around the surface of her flag. The offer isn't quite so offensive to have her reject it immediately, and it does seem to actually have her thinking instead of just laughing in his face immediately.

It takes her a bit longer before she laughs in his face. "You truly think I live in a /sewer/? That I would feast on rats and bathe in sludge?" There's a pause, but it's not entirely clear whether she's doing so for emphasis on a rhetorical question or to see if he's actually going to respond to that. "What do you serve to gain from such an offer? Your war doesn't concern me, but the criminals here..."

Her hand catches on fire as she looks up and down the halls. "... They've been judged and found guilty, haven't they? Nobody would miss them, anyway."
Reiji Arisu "You know I'd never sit by and just let that happen," Reiji answers with a furious scowl. "After all this time, to think that I'd ever stand idle and just let someone kill you again...!" A bullet streaks through the air, and Reiji swings to meet it. But...!

Misha's shot abruptly slows, pivots and changes direction. The thing arcs and sweeps toward one of the onmyoji's kneecaps. Reiji...

Fires his shotgun in mid-air, and absorbs the bullet with his already injured shoulder instead. He fires again, his wounded limb unable to fully absorb the recoil twists painfully, but the motion rights him in time to find his footing and receive his father's kick...

With his forehead.

"Never," Reiji growls from behind Shogo's boot, his own heels digging into the pillar, struggling against the Heroic Spirit's far superior strength. "I will /never/ be your enemy. In everything, in all of this, I've fought to fill the hole you left behind. How could you ever even think I wouldn't give everything to do my duty here...!?" Reiji grits his teeth, his feet sliding back across hostile ground. He can hold out for only a moment more. Only a few moments more, but...! "Don't you dare start to think I'm naive enough to believe that this grail isn't too good to be true. I'm not the same child I was back on that day."

"One way or another, I'm getting to the bottom of this so-called wish-granting cup of miracles. This... This /thing/ that does nothing but stir conflict and tragedy!" Finally the ground gives way under Reiji's feet and he falls away, clutching at his injured arm even as he forces one of his blades out of its sheath... And uses the crook of his elbow to dig it into the stone to arrest his fall. "If that promise is empty... I'll chase you down. You won't get away from me so easily."
Eryl Fairfax     Archer - no, Shogo Arisu - looks down as his son, and offers a warm smile. "I bet you will, kid. Good luck." Misha just gives a cocky wave.

As Shogo and Misha breech the surface, emerging in the burning, frozen remains of the Paladin outpost, they are confronted with Caster's ambush! That is still a thing. Immediately, they are bombarded with snow and hail as the bearded man watches in amusement. "The others still downstairs then? Things couldn't have worked out better. Sorry gentlemen, but you escaped into your own tomb."

The two men look around, and Misha smirks. "Oh that's cute. Ice is all you can do? Archer, remember. 'A jack of all trades, master of none...'"

The Paradox Archer looks to the Paradox Caster and gives a grim smile. "Reiji!" he shouts down the hole. "You understand overcoming elements. From down there, just listen to the power of generating elements!"

Shogo Arisu gestures at some of the lingering flames created by Jeanne Alter, whipping them up into a frenzy. Caster gets up and starts flying to pre-emptively dodge the attack, but Archer directs the fire... at the ground? "Fire creates ash that nourishes the Earth!" Caster just snorts, and fires a beam of ice at Archer, only for it to be intercepted by a spire of stone that erupts from the ground. "Earth creates Metal!" The ground quakes as shards of piping mix with grains of iron, copper, and other trace minerals ripped from further below ground erupts upward from all over. Caster is struck multiple times, and quickly encases himself in ice to block it.

The metal begins to warp and meld together, creating pipes that scoop up melted snow, the water flowing through the structures to blast the frozen barrier from all angles, keeping it still in the air. "Metal gives shape to Water!" The cascading water splashes about, hitting the trees and soaking in. Suddenly, the branches grow rapidly, encircling the barrier of ice entirely. "Water gives nourishment to Wood!"

And now, with the trees binding Caster, Archer brings up a single finger with one last flame dancing on it. "Wood is fuel for Fire. The flame is shot at the shphere of branches, and the whole thing comes alight in a massive conflagaration. Casters shouts of panic become more and more audible as it melts his barrier, blasts of ice instantly melting in response to the heat.

The cries go silent after a while, replaced with the distant sounds of static. But by that point, the two have made their escape.
