Richard Stadler The village itself had very few roads to it, and not many services avaible. There, of course, were always the enterprising people, someone with a larger residence and a generator being able to make something of a business putting up travellers. Not too many people came through here, which meant a number of the residents were looking at the Land Rover parked on the side. Some were even looking at the small group of four people who, were dressed like tourists, but in clothing a bit too new, too starched, and with two many glances to everyone around them... At least for the first day. One the start of the second, the group was more relaxed, leaning back in chairs, dusty bottles of water sitting in front of them. A map and a set of pictures between them.

"...I think I agree, boss." One of them said, tapping an out of focus picture that looks like it was taken from the air. "I mean, I got enough study of these things. The stripes are all wrong... mandibles... I mean, if they..." He trails off, looking over to someone walking by too close, before looking at the bespecled man sitting across from him. "Short story, not what we're afraid of. Not this far out at least."

Rick pauses for a moment, taking a swallow of water, before nodding. "I'd really like to get in there. Take some samples, but I'm neither crazy nor stupid. That sort of tropics, with 4 people..."
Samus Aran Walking towards the town is a figure wearing yellow-ish power armor. Dragging something. Someting large - a scorpion's tail is hanging over the figure's shoulder dripping venom. This figure is dragging a decently-size Rathian fire drake with a hole seared through its head and other damage on its body. The figure drops the monster corpse in the middle of the village and heads into the shack tha deals with bounties. There is an air of immense satisfaction to the person wearing the armor, like said person did something incredible.
Richard Stadler And now it was the group of four people to just stare as someone in rather... unexpected armor drags something unexpectedly /big/ through the village itself. Silent as there's the sound of a large body over foilage and dirt, and then left in the middle of the village. Rick finally speaks up. "I mean. I was speaking about the 4 of us. Who should apparantly stick to outings more our speed, like brunching in Delmarva." He notes, standing up along with the rest of the group and heading over to the creature.

One of the group, a woman with black hair, keeps a respectful distance, eyeing the dripping venom on the tail. "God, I hope that's not one of ours. Thing's as big as a fucking ASV." She notes. Rick takes a knee, trying to squint at the larger body. "I don't think so... I mean, this wasn't something we've seen before, and it hasn't been long enough for something of this size without a /few/ tumors on the high growth areas. Could ask the... hunter, I suppose."
Samus Aran Samus Aran whistles happily as she gives proof of the kill, and collects payment in a strange currency. She walks out, and looks around, seeing everyone look. "It's a Rathian firedrake queen. Taking out the breeding females helps reduce the species. It felt GREAT to burn a hole through her head," She giggles softly, almost manically. "Not quite like taking out the one who ruined my life, but it was a cathartic release." Rathian firedrakes have been known to live in this area after all. "But I'll save the rest for someone else unless called. I should get back to the Ad Coelum." She ponders. "Maybe I should take it with me and have dragon steaks."
Richard Stadler The fourth member of the group, silent for the most part and watching, gives a bit of a low whistle as Samsu moves out of the shack. The team backs away when she approches, while Rick does give a little bit of a nod when the type is identified. "Glad it was... cartheritic. I was a bit concerned it was... something else. Didn't look like it, but..." He trails off again, looking over to the creature. "Striking from the tail, maybe... armored, so that was probably something heavy to get through-"

When she mentions the Ad Coelum, though, the group suddenly takes attention. "You got ID?" He asks. "Though.. a bit rude of me. Never had dragon steaks. That'd probably be cartheric for Estano, here."
Samus Aran Samus Aran nods as she taps a button on the arm-cannon and it displays a holographic Paladin ID card with her name on it and a picture of Samus in the armor. "This will have to do. Don't have any physical ones issued." She then lowers the cannon. "A dragon killed my family. This wasn't him - but it will do for now." She then sets her arm-cannon to emit a narrow cutting beam and slices off a big meaty chunk of dragonmeat. "I'm not much of a cook - other than raosting kills on the battlefield - but I'm hoping the chefs can do something with it." She looks up as her visor suddenly turns yellow for a few seconds. "Did I really walk that far? Wow. Didn't seem like much." She smiles as the visor returns to blue. "No offense, but I odn't like to unmask in public. I'm sure you understand."
Richard Stadler There's a nod, and RIck reaching into his pocket; the rest of the team doing the same. "New, then? Glad to have you on our side than someone else." He says, he, Estano, and the woman flashing badges. "Rick Stadler. This is Estano, DeClere," He says, motioning to the raven haired woman. "And that's Daniels. Not one with a badge, but does good work." He says, before said Daniels holds up his hands. "Taking the hint. I'll pack the Rover."

4 is down to three now, and there's a few more nods. Estano speaks up. "Can't say I can complete relate, but." He says, a hand moving down to his left leg, knuckles wrapping on it with a muffled, metal 'clank'. "Dragon took my leg. Real bitch about it, too."

Rick flicks his own badge closed, cocking his head a little bit. "Understand unmasking? I'm afraid I wouldn't know a thing about that. We're just public health employees on one of those explorer vacations. Got a list of things we're looking for." He says, holding up a hand and trying to motion Samus along to the table they'd been sitting at. Flicking through a map of the area, pictures, before tapping one that looks more like a file photo of a... exceedingly large spider. "Like one of these, for instance. Don't suppose you've seen one that looks simlar to this? Stripped legs, hunts by charging or dropping from tree or ceiling?"
Samus Aran Samus Aran smiles. "Well, I'd love to stay and chat..." And with a roaring sound, Samus' gunship (which looks JUST like her helmet) descends from the heavens right over her head. "But my ride's here. Anyway, I didn't see a giant spider - I was hunting out in the plains. If I ever return I'll look." The ship descends, and then pulls Samus up into it... and it then hovers up and then takes off.
Richard Stadler And once again, there was just rather amazed staring (gunship or the form factor, one can pick which), and there was just a bit of silence from the group as engine exhaust washes over the ground, grabs the hunter, and then streaks off.

A few of the pictures flap in the wind nearby, as all four of them stare up. And finally, DeClere speaks. "Oh. No, no. They'd notice anything flying. We have to drive. Drive for /two/. /Fucking/. /Hours/, from the goddamn warp gate, but noooo, that was totally worth it." Rick just holds up his hands. "People /notice the Blackhawk/! They'd /still/ notice the Blackhawk! I'm sure as hell they noticed /that/! Get the goddamn pictures." He mutters, stalking toward the car. Still, dragon steaks. It'd be worth it to head back to the ship after this.
