Thomas Alva Edison     Edison has come...to Camalot.

Both as a mission of diplomacy, to make sure America and England would remain allies, but to also make personal ties to the new sovergn. These are things Edison always does personally. Never leave to others what one must do themselves.

Of course, there would be another matter that the Lion is also well versed in, giving modern amenities to a new city, one that would claim to be the the best on Earth. As he had heard, it did not even have Wifi...such a bold claim for a city without this!

Reguardless, he would come to the city, his Secret Service would of course make the approprate arrangements, and a few would flank him as he came to meet Rhongomyniad.

Edison himself was tall, barrel chested, and well...had the head of a lion. His outfit basically revealed everything there was to say about his country, as he was currently it's living embodyment of the spirit of America. He extends a hand towards the monarch, "A pleasure to finally meet you in person, King Rhongomyniad."
Rhongomyniad     Camelot is a castle-city, a fortress wall surrounding the city's districts with a second fortification in the center-- the castle Camelot itself. The city itself is lively, with citizens settling in and businesses springing up in available spaces, all leading up to the main keep itself. And it is here that Edison and his entourage are met with the Lion King herself.

She cuts an immediately recognizable figure, clad in plate armor with a furry white mantle around her shoulders which closes around her body, with only a glimpse of the armored breastplate and fold underneath. She also wears her helmet, distinctively lion-themed, with a main of white fur off the back.

Her gaze shifts down to the offered hand, and after the briefest of hesitations her mantle parts and a hand extends to meet it. Her grip is firm.

"PresiKing Edison, thank you for attending in person," her voice is just as even as radio interactions, it's unmistakably the goddess Rhongomyniad within this armored shell. She withdraws her hand and raises it, sweeping from the city to the castle, "Have you found Camelot to your liking, thus far?"
Thomas Alva Edison     "It is splenderous," Edison says with a firm nod. His own grip firm, and he withdraws it a moment later as they speak.

"I notice that it is a castle. While a castle is defencable...fortifications are something even desire din today's world, I fear that it sends a signal. Castles were bastions of defense, where rulers sat and could plan without fear of being assaulted. The world is not the utopia it could be, but it is far safer of a place...especially in England, than it was. A castle also has several disadvantages for growth...unless you purposely desire to keep the population small."

"Also, what are your plans for running electricty, running water, heating and air? Wifi was something already mentioned by you as well. These things are usually considered in the making of a city, they help keep disease at bay far better than most modern medicine, help food keep longer, and keep your citizens comfortable."
Rhongomyniad     "What is Camelot, if not a castle?" Rhongomyniad states plainly as her hand lowers back to her side. Her mantle fluidly closes in once the obstruction is gone. "Though it may take many forms, all are castles. This is the form I chose when I unfolded the Divine Lance."

The helmet's gaze lowers slightly in thought, "The truth of it is that while I created this out of a sense of familiarity, its defensive nature is wholly necessary. With the rise of the dragon tyrant Vortigern of recent, monsters of all ilks who still hold loyalty to him have emerged in the countryside." She nods once. A hand emerges, lifting. The section of road upon which the two Kings and Edison's Secret Servicemen stands upon rumbles, then steadily rises. It only stops when it reaches the battlements of Camelot Castle itself, and she nonchalantly steps off it to walk along the upper walls, "Here. You may see the layout more clearly from greater elevation."

"As for this-- I have already made provisions for electrical power, plumbing, and sewage. These are things I learned of while in the company of Queen Elizabeth, and matters I took special care to prepare for while creating the Holy City. The contractors have been quite busy with the necessary work."
Thomas Alva Edison     Admittedly, that was cool.

Edison steps off, keeping his bearings as they finally reach the top.

"I can rightfully say it is an impressive sight," He says, looking over everything. "I can provide you guidance, if you wish, on the electrical part of this. It is, afterall, what I invented...I dreamed of a world where mankind would not have to fight against the monsters that live out there, both figurtively, and internally. A life of hardship can turn men wicked, always fearful that others would take from them, as they had in the past. Man feared the dark for as long as they existed. The fear of the unknown...rather that they gave into that fear through worship of it, or through cowtailing to it. I hated that man had no other options...and I removed the thing that made people afraid if darkness...the unknown. My inventions revealed the truth for what it was."

"The stories of King Arthur were wrong in some ways, but I would like to think that in this we both had the same vision."
Rhongomyniad     "Mmm," Rhongomyniad ruminates audibly over the speech, turning to look out over the city below. Once the secret servicemen have also stepped off, the palisade that had lifted the party up to this level steadily retracts, returning to what it was previously-- a simple road.

"I saw men who lived in fear of monsters and banditry. I created a code to live by, and founded the party who would inspire this code in others, liberating them from the tyranny of amorality." Her helmet turns slightly towards Edison once more, "You saw men who lived in fear of the darkness, and created a method by which men may conquer that darkness, liberating them from the tyranny of sunset."

After a moment, she reaches up with both hands. The helmet is gently removed and tucked under one arm. Her head shakes briefly to loosen her blonde hair, before faintly glowing green eyes fixate on Edison once more in that impassive stare.

"You would be correct, in many ways. We come from similiar histories. Although I have not yet perished, my history continues to be written."
Thomas Alva Edison     There is a gentle laugh to that, "I suppose there, you are correct. I can not write a new future for my country, though I want it to be so. My land is afraid right now, once more wanting me to guide it through times it's never had to face. The world at large, I imagine, is no different right now. Things thought to be stories, coming to life, while mages in their tower continue to keep the world ignorant, while sticking their own fingers in their ears at the apparent danger."

"I am not a man of legend, or a hero like yourself or even King Gilgamesh is. I was a man, blessed with intelligence who saw a world coming into a new era, and helped guide it. I was proof that man could shape it's own destiny, if it wanted to hard enough."

He watches as the helmet come off. It was a striking beauty, he would admit, and it troubled him how history could forget. "The world is vastly different than in your time. You yourself, admit that your humanity has left you. Though I am thankful you have seen to take consul, when offered. Though it looks as if there are problems in your home as well. There is fear, uncertainty...and someone taking advantage of our people because of these feelings. I would like to not just maintain what we have had after the revolution, but a stronger unity of nations between us. Something we can use to give our people comfort, and draw in others."

"On a less serious note, and a personal one. I am absolutely surprised your men could keep such a secret from the world. It speaks to their loyalty."
Rhongomyniad     "Tenuous," Rhongomyniad corrects, "I am a Divine Spirit whose humanity is tenuous. Fleeting. As if I must examine a tome to remind myself of who I once was." She lifts a hand, resting it over her breastplate with the soft sound of metal touching metal, "This previous life guides and informs my decisions." The hand lowers.

"You are a hero, whether you would define yourself as such or not." Her head tilts forward slightly, "You used your gift to help others. What is that, if not the decision of a hero? Fame and glory was not your goal, but seeing your talents being used to better the lives of others." Her shoulders square as she lifts her head once more, "Do not sell yourself short, PresiKing. Though a knight may be humble, it should not be to the degree of dishonesty."

When the personal matter comes up, she blinks slowly.

"I am not sure I understand. If you refer to my appearance, I was much younger during my rulership as King Arthur."
Thomas Alva Edison     "Am, my mistake. Tenuous. I imagine that has to be concerning..." Edison muses, though she brings a counter point to him. "I can not deny these words either. I suppose there is a fine line between humbleness and self depreciation. I ment in the classical sense, I am not Hercules, no knight of the round, no legend who slayed something...the only thing I tried to slay was Ignorance, and used science to enlighten the world." He looks towards her evenly.

"I...see. I can not even begin to imagine how you appeared younger. Yes, it was in reference to your appearance. Though I am hardly one to talk, ha ha, I did not look like this in life." He says, with some much needed levity into the situation, "Worry not...inequality based on Gender is not what it once was in this age...something I am glad for. Mankind is a far cry from ridding itself from such conciets...but I believe in it someday."

"Reguardless. I came to offer my aid as an Inventor, as well as a Diplomat. The more pressing issue being to not only keep the status of allyship alive, but to deepen our alliance, and help start by being the sheild of our two countries. The UN, as it is now, is faultering."
Rhongomyniad     'like a fifteen year old boy', some might say. Rhongomyniad does not say it, because she has no real attachment to it. Instead, she states, "You have slain the cruel night."

Her eyes remain transfixed on Edison as he shifts his subject to the United Nations, her expression impassive, though she lets out a thoughtful noise. At last, she speaks up.

"I should like to continue the alliance with America fostered by Queen Elizabeth. Although I am not the leader of this country, as its guardian, I appreciate you approaching me all the same." Her shoulders straighten with the faint rattling of metal armor, "What is the state of this UN which concerns you so?"
Thomas Alva Edison     Edison nods...good she decided to do that. It was an smart move, one that would win her more allies then ememies in the long run, especially if she can prove that her intentions are true...and her strength is what they need. He would need to talk to the Prime Minister then, together with her at a later time.

"If you are not aware, the United Nations was created after World War Two, it was designed to try and be a place where all nations could come together, and keep the peace of the world. While it has not always been an organization that has been the most toothful of groups, it has done a lot more good than ill. The problem is..." He sighs, leaning back.

"It is not a group the world needs right now. I feel that currently, with how things are going, if the world is shattered too hard with what this new group is trying to do...or heaven forbid that Foreigner comes to lay waste to one of the cities where it is currently being held...the world would recoil from this. With the Clocktower using it's influence to keep what is really happening from the truth of other nations...it is only a matter of time before something gives."

"What we need is to drag this into the light, reform the united nations under stronger leadership, and bite this anarchy in the rear before it can even start."
Rhongomyniad     Rhongomyniad lifts a hand to rest beneath her chin in a thoughtful posture her eyes flitting downward briefly in consideration. "A league of nations. An allied council. I see. Representatives from each country striving for diplomatic resolutions where possible. I have seen reference to the United Nations and the things this group has accomplished."

After a moment, she lifts her eyes once more, without lifting her face, "You mean to dissolve this council. I cannot help but ascertain some parallels. Though I understand it is likely unintentional-- and not without merit nor reason."

"How, then, shall its dissolution assist in matters such as this Foreigner, or the cult you speak of?" A hand extends, gesturing, "Is your intent to place more focus internally on addressing these matters, or is your intent to replace the United Nations with a new organization for world peace and prosperity?"
Thomas Alva Edison     "A new one," Thomas says, calmly, "Currently the 0rganization is not equipped to handle these things. Worse, as it stands the Mages use their connections to hide the truth from the group, with agents inside. A organization could be reconstructed from the old. Peacefully, even. The idea simply to be United as a world, to treat with the Paladins as an entire group...and not as individual nations with Individual connections to the greater Multiverse. At that point, it would be easier to request aid, share resources, and respond to the greater threats."

"With Gilgamesh already pulling out, the world stage is already reeling from his decision. It would be easier to move in, before anything monumental happened, and pitched it slowly and intergrated before that group had time to move."
Rhongomyniad     "I see," Rhongomyniad nods once as well, "You wish to escape the influence of the Mage Organization and Clock Tower on matters of politics." She nods once more, "Though Clock Tower did aid me rather recently, I do not feel that this group necessitates political power to accomplish its studies in magic."

Her hand lowers to her side at last, eyes remaining firmly fixed on Edison's face, "You realize that this will look every bit like my own attempted dissolution of Parliament. There are those who will oppose it. If there is upheval, the innocent may be harmed. I am wary of a potential repetition of my mistake."

She takes one step forward, then, "Prove to me that this will not happen, and you shall have the support of the Goddess of Justice."
Thomas Alva Edison     "It uses political power to keep people ignorant of the truth of the world, and uses this as a control mechanism. It guides people in a certain way, under systems long left by man because they have proven to not work. They are set in ways beyond old, and will only stagnate...and I will not have this world go down with them."

"I am aware of the possibility. I am aware of the possibility that these words have been safe before...liberty for safety." He says, with a sigh, "I do not wish the power granted to me as Presiking, I use it to do as I must...to protect America, and her interests and allies. Then, when my America feels safe...I can go back to being a dead man, and allow it to continue to live again."

"It isn't living now, I can tell. It is scared, it wants someone to deliver them from the new scary things out there...it is how I was summoned. I do not wish to be a dictator of the United Nations to...but I do want an organization that CAN withstand the multiverse, and the mages who have become corrupt...to stand against the horrors that will come when the earth dies."

"I need not lead it, but make it stronger so when I do leave, I can rest easy." He says, staring at her, not once flinching in his words, "I know the lives that will be lost as a cost of my decisions will be mine to bear. I can not stop them...but more would be lost by doing nothing and waiting in the dark. That...that I refuse. So I will take the responsibility of my words and actions...wherever they lead us. Until there is a bright future, full of the hope I left the world with the first time."
Rhongomyniad     Rhongomyniad inclines her head once more, her expression severe. Although it is no more or less severe than the face she seems to have defaulted to at numerous points during this conversation. She listens intently, however, without making so much as a sound to interrupt Edison's speech.

She waits until he is finished. She waits perhaps too long after he is finished before she speaks again, her voice overflowing with authority.

"A Knight is Sworn to Valor. His Heart Knows Only Virtue. His Blade Defends the Helpless. His Might Upholds the Weak. His Word Speaks Only Truth. His Wrath Undoes the Wicked."

"I sense no deceit," her voice returns to the normal impassive tone, "Your heart is chivalrous. Your intention is pure. Your cause is just. Your dedication is unyeilding." The woman nods once, "When you are prepared to protect men from the follies of men, you shall have the aid of King Arthur."

She looks down, unstrapping her gauntlet and then removing it, "With that decided, there is one final matter that I am unable to ignore any longer."
Thomas Alva Edison     There is a slight breath from Edison, relieved that this turned out right.

"Some things never change, in that reguard, King Arthur." he says, not able to deny the words, but well...it was that belief that allowed things to move to this point. It was true, these were things he wanted to do, what he felt needed to happen...at the end of the day, a world without a need for him, was a world he could strive for.

"Uh..? What would that be?" He asks, not sure how THIS was going to go down.
Rhongomyniad     "You possess the head of a lion," Rhongomyniad states evenly as she tucks her gauntlet under her arm, alongside the helmet she had removed earlier.

"Unrelated to the matters of discussion, and holding no bearing upon them or my expectations into the future, I wish to touch your mane." Upfrontedly, she raises her now-bare hand, fingers spread out in a nonmenacing fashion. She's so very direct about it, one might even think she's eager, though her face remains that impassive, slightly serious stare with those faintly glowing green eyes.
Thomas Alva Edison     Of...all of the things that Edison thought he'd hear today, this was not one of them. It shows that, despite all of his planning...all of his preperations...

He was not ready for today.

With a breath, he keeps that gaze on her, not skipping a beat, because...well...

"Yes, you can touch my mane." He says, trying to not be ackward about this at all.
Rhongomyniad     None could be perpared for the serious goddess Rhongomyniad to suddenly swing into the behaviors of Artoria Pendragon without warning.

When given Edison's blessing, she reaches up with her ungloved hand until her fingers disappear within that white mane. There's no change to her expression, but a noncommittal 'hmm' does escape after a few moments.

When evidently satisfied, Rhongomyniad lowers her hand, sliding her gauntlet back on and buckling it in place without a word. Fingers flex, and just like that, it's as if a bizarrely awkward, mercifully brief exchange never occurred.
Thomas Alva Edison     Edison, finds the whole prcess embarassing...and it is true, in public he is used to small children asking the same thing, it's mess embarrasing. With a breath, he pushes through the embarassing exchange and...

"Well...with your blessing on the matter we talked about, there are some more details about what I was talking about earlier with reguards to efficient electricity..." he says, there might be a several hour long discussion on this.
Rhongomyniad     There isn't so much as a clearing of throats to push the awkward further into the past. Rhongomyniad simply turns to the next matter of discussion without hesitation.

The Divine Lance materializes in her grip, and she holds it out. The metal bindings braided around the core unravel into a complex three-dimensional celtic knot, revealing the blazing divine light that forms its interior. With the Lance deployed, she folds her arms over her breastplate.

"Inform me, PresiKing, and your recommendations shall be used to further refine the Holy City's layout."
