Scene #6516: MECC: Sarracenia vs Shigure!

Sarracenia	Time for the MECC! On Sarracenia's quest to prove she is both strong and should be praised by everyone, this is a premier event! The princess enters and waves to whatever crowd has gathered. Probably mostly her piranha plant underlings, but they are clapping their leaves with all their might...though more out of fear than admiration. The princess is of course in what has quickly become one of her favorite dresses, the black leather affair with red plates of polished metal bolted on over her chest and around her waist. Her hammer is resting on her shoulder as she practically struts to the middle of the arena, then she gives it a powerful, graceful, and overly showy twirl before smacking it down on the haft and causing a resounding thud to echo through the chamber. She waits for her opponent to enter, then smirks lightly. "Hello there. Shigure was it? I am Princess Sarracenia Sundew, Crown Princess of the Sundew Kingdom." She twirls her hammer again, then rushes toward Shigure. "Have at thee!" She makes a quick horizontal swing of her hammer to get things started.
Shigure	Shigure breathes as she waits for the door to open. She said goodbye to her fleetmates, who are now in the stands, cheering and whooping, or just sitting in silent support(depending on who you look at). She does one final check of her gear. "Just like the World Martial Arts Tournament... you can do this." she says to herself, letting her backpack gimbal into place again as the doors open and she steps out into the arena. Black hair. Blue eyes, black uniform and ship-styled equipment, she's armed for bear. She bows to her opponent as she steps up. "Shiratsuyu-class Destroyer, Second Ship, Shigure. May you find victory on the dawn's horizon." she says in response, and then grabs her backpack cannon tonfa, bringing it in to intercept the hammer swing. Metal clangs against metal, and the girl skids away from the force, wincing a little with a big dent in her gear where the hammer struck. "Repair teams, lay to C-turret." she says, almost reflexively. Shigure then brings her cannons to bear and fires a volley of shells at the Princess, each one detonating on impact.
Sarracenia	Sarracenia hops back after her quick strike. "It is nice to meet you, Second Ship Shigure. I am sure we will have a marvelous fiii-EEEET!!" The last sylable is heavily accentuated thanks to the shells that come flying in and explode, hitting right on target and throwing Sarracenia across the arena. She lets out a high-pitched princess cry as she goes flying through the air and smashes into a safety barrier before bouncing off and landing unsteadily. "...and I thought my Bullet Bills were dangerous." she says, then stands up and straightens her hair. "An impressive strike! I must answer in kind!" she calls out, and reaches into her satchel to pull out...a big, heavy black bullet that is almost as big as herself and has a shark face for some reason. "Let us see how you handle this!" she exclaims as she tosses it, sending it end over end. Then, with a graceful twirl and a powerful, precision swing of her hammer there is a sound not unlike a ship's cannon as she hits the Bullet Bill on the flat side...and sends it screaming through the air at Shigure. This large shell also explodes on impact!
Shigure	"AA Team, focus fire on the dive bomber!" Shigure commands, little machinegun nests folding out of her rigging and firing on the Bullet Bill as it comes flying in. They may not manage it stop it, but enough push on one side sends it off course, and it grazes past, detonating and sending Shigure flying into a roll, then skid to a stop trailing smoke. "Fire suppression team, lay to the magazine." she grunts, standing back up and bracing herself. "You look like a cruiser, but you fight like a battleship." she remarks, grinning faintly as her eyes begin to glow in the shadow of her bangs. She then lets go of her cannons, folding them back onto her back with the gimbal arms. She then drags two pairs of torpedoes out of her thigh holders, and throws them like throwing knives... which explode on impact. These aren't as powerful as the shells(Since they're meant to be used underwater).
Sarracenia	Sarracenia giggles a bit proudly at the comparison and gives her hair a toss. "Thank you! Though I believe the most accurate comparison would be a battlecruiser. Fast, hard hitting, -and- sleek and beautiful." she says. She of course doesn't mention the other part of a battlecruiser. Less armor than other ships of their size. Even as though she brings her hammer around to try and intercept those torpedoes, only one is actually hit. The other explodes squarely against the princess and throws her back again. She growls a bit as she gets back to her feet. "...you are quite tough for a destroyer-class as well. I was under the impression that those were the smaller ships that focused primarily on attack." she says as she smooths out her dress...only to find some tears and holes. She sighs softly and sticks a finger through one of them, then looks up at Shigure again. "But, I am quite stubborn. I will not be sunk without a fight!" She rushes in toward Shigure this time, then hops before going into a twirl like a spinning top. With her hammer as the counterweight.
Shigure	Shigure grabs her gunpack again, bringing them up. "The Shiratsuyu-class are a lot tougher than other destroyers." she replies, then grits her teeth as the Princess comes spinning in like a top. She tries to dodge away, but gets a solid smack in the side, which sends her sailing into the safety barrier, sending up a sickening crunch and scream of metal tearing. Shigure gets back up, tossing one of her cannon tonfa aside as it smokes and sparks. It then detonates on the ground from something within going up. With that free hand, Shigure draws a short-bladed sword, a wakizashi, from the small of her back, holding it reverse grip with the blade facing out from her arm. She then fires another shell from her cannon, and starts to run sideways, taking wide arc around the Princess, firing the whole way.
Ritsuka Fujimaru	Jeanne d'Arc is on commentary today, unfortunately for those that wanted someone more charismatic to speak. She's already partway into the commentary, and she's got her legs propped up on the announcing desk. "Hoh? A direct hit from the princess? She's using a large hammer, too... Maybe she isn't as useless as most. Ah, but now the ship has a sword!" She squints slightly. "... A ship with a sword. You heard me."
Sarracenia	Sarracenia lets out an 'oooh' sound as Shigure explains. "I see. No wonder!" she says as she bounces off Shigure thanks to her spinning top attack and comes to a slow stop. She blinks as Shigure throws the tonfa away and it explodes. A powder magazine perhaps? Between that and being a bit dizzy after all that spinning, Sarracenia fails to manage any kind of defense against the strafing run. She is steadily blasted across the arena, basically helpless against the attack. When the barrage finally ends, the princess looks pretty weak. "Ugh...I suppose I have no choice!" She reaches into her satchel once again and starts tossing things at Shigure! Bob-ombs, missiles, dynamite bundles, proximity mines, old-world powder bombs with fuses...and to finish it off, she tosses three Bullet Bills up into the air and goes into another top spin. As each comes down it is hit and fired at Shigure. The end result? A shower of powerful explosions followed by much more direct and resounding explosions!
Ritsuka Fujimaru	Jeanne Alter laughs. "It's like neither of them care about defenses! Trading hits, destroying each other mercilessly with all these explosives... You should be grateful that they aren't turning these weapons against you."
Shigure	Shigure grunts, and drops to one knee, bringing her tonfa in front of her. "Open up! All guns, fire fire!" she calls, tucking tail and trusting her AA guns to blunt some of the incoming explosives. A very few of those things happen, and Shigure is engulfed in a growing plume of smoke and fire. As the fussilade abates, the other cannon tonfa is tossed out of the smoke plume, detonating as it strikes the ground. And then Shigure emerges, her uniform torn and body scorched in places. But she can still move, and closes in on Sarracenia, swinging her sword in a rapid combo of flashing steel.
Ritsuka Fujimaru	^^Jeanne grins darkly as she watches the battle below, resting her chin on her hands. "And there's the sword coming in, ready to cut the princess down! Neither the ship nor the princess look like they're going to be able to take much more, so it's time to see who survives this deathmatch!" A staff member comes in, whispering something to Jeanne who gives her a cold stare. "... This isn't a deathmatch? When did you plan on telling me this?"
Sarracenia	Sarracenia waits expectantly for Shigure to be down! ...and is sorely disappointed. "...GAH! Why is it never enough?!" she exclaims in frustration before trying to fend off the sword attacks. It is to no avail, though. More and more cuts appear across the princess's body, and when the flurry of flashing steel is finally over, Sarracenia's piercing blue eyes are focused on Shigure as she pants heavily from pain and exhaustion. "...nng...w-why can I not...win..." she manages before she falls forward and with a soft 'plop', her dress tattered and cut all over, her hair dishevelled, and her hammer finally dropped from her grasp.
Shigure	Shigure pants, one eye winced shut as she lifts her sword to the crowd. She then flourishes it and sheaths it, before kneeling to offer a hand to the Princess. "You shall find your victory. Did I not say that as the beginning?" she says, her tone remaining soft. "Find victory on the dawn's horizon."
Ritsuka Fujimaru	Jeanne's slowly losing her patience as she shakes the unlucky staff member. "So what are their names? Hm... I see... Alright, then." Pushing the staff member off, she picks the microphone up once more. "And there you have it. The Shir... Ats... Shigure the Ship has defeated Sararcenia the Princess! Even with all their technology and explosives to lead the way, its the simpler weapons that brings this battle to a close."
