Leyanne The Mouse... well, the Mouse has been taking cues from Pro Wrestling; when she enters the arena it's to a synthwave version of Flashdance's Maniac, and sat in a saddle on the back of her pet Line megafauna monster truck, Clive. Sat astride the snarling beast, the red-armoured mouse seems to be thoroughly enjoying herself as Clive rolls up to the arena itself at a walking pace.

Hopping down from the saddle, the mouse opens a trunk attachment that Clive is wearing and pulls from it her Browning M2 rig and a chain-wrapped baseball bat for good measure. Climbing into the ring, the mouse takes her spot as the music fades, strapping on the gun's ammo box and making sure that the baseball bat is in easy reach.

When Nova Terra enters the ring, the mouse gives her a nod. "Good luck."
Nova Terra     Nova is a lot less theatrical with her entrance, simply appearing in the arena amidst a wash of blue light as she decloaks. She does give the audience a brief wave before focusing on her opponent.

As Leyanne pulls out her large machine gun, Nova reaches up to where her C-20A Canister Rifle is attached to her back. She shifts it into both hands and smirks at Leyanne, "It's been a while since I've been in a good, old fashioned gunfight with another person. It's been magic casters this and robot drones that." She chambes a round, "Should be fun."

The count down rings down as the crowd cheers, "THREE! TWO! ONE!" The horn sounds.

Nova is off and running, making her way towards the nearest cover as she aims her rifle in Leyanne's direction. There's a short burst of fire, designed to try and keep the mouse from getting a solid bead on Nova for a few moments.
Leyanne Leyanne blinks "Oh, yeah, me neither!" She grins, swinging the heavy machine gun up as this David and Golliath battle begins. All in, things actually look quite well-balanced, Nova's speed and lightness balancing out Leyanne's power and slowness. It's speed does Nova a lot of good early in the fight; the big mouse barely has enough time to start tracking Nova before she's started moving, a well-timed burst of fire causing the Megamouse's first burst of fire to get thrown off, chasing her towards her cover in a way that, if nothing else, will look really good in an action-replay.

"Bastard! Nice!" Leyanne calls out, side-stepping as fast as she can to try and get a new angle on Nova, opening up with that heavy machine gun a second time.
Nova Terra     As Leyanne's first barrage is unleashed, Nova drops down and slides in behind some cover at the last moment. She presses herself against it as she waits for a moment. She then peeks out from behind the wall, only to quickly pull her head back as the machine gun rounds start up again and take out a chunk. The mouse is on the move, trying to flank her.

Nova quickly rises to her feet, once more dashing out from her cover. Bullets zip around her as she tries to stay ahead of Leyanne's aim. But it's too good and a round strikes Nova in the back. The Ghost stumbles, falling to the ground.

Nova crawls up to a fallen pillar, sitting against it. Thankfully her suit absorbed most of the impact, but damn if that didn't sting. Nova opens a small wrist compartment attached to her suit, pulling out a spherical device. Priming the pulse grenade, she throws it in Leyanne's direction. It arcs through the air, coming down near the machine gunner and bouncing a couple of times. It then releases an explosive blast of energy.
Leyanne Leyanne continues to pump fire into Nova's cover for several seconds longer than it takes to ascertain that the big, heavy rounds won't slam through it, kicking up great clouds of smoke and dust. She doesn't notice the grenade until it clinks off her boot, looking down with a look of 'oh, crap!' before diving aside.

When the grenade goes off, the mouse gets slammed sideways by the blast, hitting a pillar with her shoulder. "Bugger..." She mutters, hopping to her feet and diving behind the pillar for cover. A glance at Ma Deuce tells her that she needs a few seconds to re-settle the belt, so the mouse pulls one of her pistols and opens fire at Nova, attempting to pin her down long enough to clear her primary weapon.
Nova Terra     Nova sits in her cover, planning out her next few moves as bullets whip around her. It's when one grazes the side of her head, drawing forth a little red in her blonde hair, that Nova finally acts. She draws a small injector from another of her suit compartments and jams it into her neck. There's a quick hiss and Nova jolts for a moment.

Nova rises up, leaping over her cover and starting to charge straight towards Leyanne's position. She raises her hand, psychic energy flaring around it. She unleash the blast of telekinetic force towards Leyanne's cover, hoping to shatter it and shower her in debris. Or at the very least force her out of cover.
Leyanne Leyanne holsters her pistol and clears her gun after making the shot that grazes Nova's head, working on clearing her M2's jam. She's just finished and in the process of turning to open fire when Nova's psychic blast hits her cover, shattering it apart - and planting the mouse once again on her back, covered in stone dust and shards. There's a big cut in her bodysuit - and the skin underneath it - now, where a big chunk of something sharp sliced across her side just above her armoured belt, her white fur a contrast against the red armour.

"Motherf-" Leyanne cuts herself off from cussing, hitting a quick-release on Ma Deuce's harness and leaping to her feet, baseball bat in hand. She wastes no time in complaining any further, meeting Nova Terra's charge with one of her own.
Nova Terra     Nova sees Leyanne jump up and charge her in return. Nova smirks.

Blue light washes over Nova as she quickly fades from view moments before Leyanne can reach her. The swing of the baseball bat passes through the space where Nova was moments ago, striking nothing.

What follows is a palpable tension as Nova's plan has left Leyanne standing out in the open, facing off against an opponent who is out of sight. Nova could be anywhere. Doing anything. And Leyanne wouldn't know until the very last moment.

And that moment comes in the form of a muffled gunshot. The air not too far away from Leyanne shimmers as a blurry outline of Nova holding her rifle up, scope to her head, is revealed. From the end of the near-invisible rifle, the large 25mm bullet streaks towards Leyanne's head with the well trained aim of a sniper.
Leyanne Leyanne whiffs her shot! The Happy Gilmore techique is really not one suited to baseball, especially not when what you're trying to hit can fade into invisibility. "Asshole!" the giant rodent comments, sounding amused, as she recovers from the swing.

She begins looking around, swinging the bat threateningly around her hand as her artificial eye changes colour - first red, and then purple, and then on through the rainbow as the mouse hunts through the electromagnetic spectrum for her foe. Her antennae extend like an old-time TV as they too search for any electromagnetic radiation that Nova's suit might fail to mask.

But damn if it isn't good camouflage. It's the shimmering movement that draws Tiny's attention, rather than any stray backwash. She turns, just in time to see what's about to happen, but not soon enough to do anything about it. The round hits her almost exactly between the eyes, exploding her helmet into shards and slamming the mouse back to the arena floor for the third time this match. She's still for several seconds before she coughs.

"...ow..." she mutters, rolling into cover and hauling herself to her feet. As she does so, the damage turns out to be quite horrific, the skin and flesh of half of her face just plain blown away, revealing metal-plated bones and the structures that hold her cybernetic eye in place. It makes her look look like some kind of murder-cyborg, her left eye glowing an angry red.

And she steps out of cover, pistol in her right hand while her left hand winds back and flings the baseball bat towards Nova Terra's head, following behind it with a barrage of pistol fire, and a trail of blood dripping from her face.
Nova Terra     It's certainly hard to aim at someone who's not quite there. Leyanne's cybernetics will help to a degree, allowing her to better make out the distortion resulting from Nova firing her weapon. This allows her to throw her bat, a move that Nova was not expecting.

The bat strikes Nova in the side of the head. It's not a serious hit, thanks to the little protection that her visor provides. But it's enough to throw her concentration for a moment, resulting in her cloak failing and the Ghost reappearing.

Realizing she's in danger, Nova dashes off once more, trying to avoid the pistol fire. Several strike her suit, causing her to wince in pain. But as she runs, she ejects the magazine in her rifle, letting it drop as she reaches for a new one. Seeing the more obvious cybernetic components of Leyanne's face had given Nova an idea.

Nova manages to get her new magazine in moments before one of Leyanne's bullets strikes her in the leg. Nova stumbles, quickly falling towards the ground. But as she does so, she twists her body in the air just enough to fire off another burst of rounds at Leyanne. But these aren't the normal rounds, as they leave behind a streak of blue as they fly. And wherever they hit, they release a small blast of electromagnetic energy. EMP Rounds.
Leyanne Leyanne blinks a little, her cybernetic arm's lights going green as she starts to advance on the wide-open Nova. As the Ghost opens fire, Leyanne's hand moves with blurring speed - actually managing to intercept one of the rounds and swat it from the air... but, alas, Nova Terra knows her target, and when her hand hits the round, there's a little flare of electricity and the mouse's arm jut goes flaccid and limp.

It's at this moment, precisely, her thoughts acellerated to inhuman levels by her cyernetics, that Leyanne knows she's lost. So even as the EMP rounds strike home, the mouse sells it, over-reacting to the impact of each round before they rob control of her body from her, the mouse just slowly crumpling up into a little heap as her body just stops responding.
Nova Terra     Nova hits the ground, preparing herself for the barrage of bullets that's likely coming. But when they don't come, Nova slowly rises to see Leyanne on the ground. There's a tense moment where Nova wonders if the mouse might be faking it...

Until the arena horn sounds and the crowd cheers. The announcer calls out, "Winner: Nova Terra!"

Nova rubs the back of her neck, a little overwhelmed by the cheering but otherwise amused. As evident by the grin that's forming.

No doubt the Shrine's mysterious effect will reverse Leyanne's injuries soon, at which point Nova says to her, "Good match."
Leyanne Leyanne unfolds herself and picks herself up slowly. "Yeah it was, you deserved that." She says. "Nice trick with that last-second cloak. I think I was just ahead until then." She chuckles, picking up her gun and loading it back into Clive's trunk.
Nova Terra     Nova returns her rifle to her back and nods to Leyanne, "Thanks. Nice aim with the bat. Not sure I've had one thrown at me before." Hard to tell, given her memory issues.
Leyanne Leyanne grins at Nova. "I knew I'd only get one shot at you." She says. It's slightly disconcerting to look at her as the skin of her face gradually re-stitches from the Shrine's magic. "And I needed something that'd reveal you. A bullet wouldn't cut it, so..." She grins. "Mass matters."
