Jonathan Joestar Jonathan still couldn't help but feel a little amazed at the incredible abilities of this Shrine of Adversity. The arena it had conjured was a relatively simple one, a single platform floating back and forth down a canal that ran through a mildly foggy city in broad daylight. For the audience' s comfort, there was a massive viewing screen hovering in the air that allowed them to see the action, no matter where on the sidelines they decided to take root and watch the bout.

Standing to his full height, Jonathan was a massive mountain of a man with a handsome, clean-shaven face and jet-black hair. He was clad in a blue-leather outfit and great iron pauldrons on his shoulders, a sword and satchel strapped to his back. Taking in a deep breath, Hamon-practitioner began to stretch in preparation for the trial ahead. He'd wound up losing his first tournament match, but with any luck, this one would go much better. He'd learned quite a bit from his previous failure, after all. A crystaline spear was jabbed into the floating platform's ground beside him, twinkling in the mid-day sun as he finishes his prep, seemingly just in time for his opponent to arrive.

        " ....? "
Touta Konoe     "Huh, so you're Mr. Joestar. Nice meeting ya. Man...They really gave us a crazy stage this time huh?"

The one who announces himself to the goliath of a man from the opposite side of the platform makes his presence known. A child no older than his early teens at best that was likely only half of Jonathan's size if that. His attire comprising of mostly black. Black jacket, black jeans, even his weapon, a small taichi was pitch black. The only non-black item of clothing that the spikey black-haired kid seemed to have was the red t-shirt he was wearing underneath. At the very least while his clothing choices were a bit dark his personality seemed nothing of the sort on first appearence. It probably still didn't help any first thoughts that came to Jonathan's mind as he saw his second opponent but this was the reality of the situation.

That said, Touta didn't sound or feel out of place at all.

"Anyway, not sure how many matches you got left but this'll be my last one so I really hope it'll be a good one for both of us."
Jonathan Joestar " .... I see. This is my second. You must be a scrappy boy to have made it through so many tough fights, hm?"

Jonathan masks his discomfort with some effort. Fighting Touta would almost feel like bullying considering he didn't even come up to Jonathan's waist. But, he seemed fairly eager and besides that, it's not like this were a fight to the death. He could afford to pull his punches against a child, couldn't he?

"It's a rather novel stage for combat. If you're ready, then let us proceed."

Jonathan gives off a re-assuring smile before sinking into a simple stance for boxing, approaching Touta with a low, swooping blow. He was careful not to aim for the youngster's face.
Touta Konoe      A reassuring smile indeed. Jonathan's stance while simple is a good foundation for that low sweep and honestly it sends Touta back quite some way across the platform. He even went to guard against it but can feel it shaking him a bit still and the expression on his face is just...Surprised. But a moment of recomposing himself allows him to give a bit of a smile. This should be a good fight. Good enough that he kind of wants to see if he can return the favor though.

"Sorry Side-stick. looks like this is gonna be a good ol' fashioned fistacuffs."

He lets the blade sink into the platform before he darts back to Jonathan! He brings back his right fist and just swings it right into the man's guard to see how he holds up when trading blows.
Evangeline McDowell     Evangeline's looks down at her phone screen, which is streaming the glorious picture-in-picture mode of NOTHING AT ALL. She clears her throat loudly and deliberatley into the white earpiece-boom-microphone on the left side of her face and sets her face into the most unamused scowl that she's worn since waiting 10 minutes to get to the front of the caramel popcorn line and finding out that they won't have another batch ready for another 15 minutes. Thus it is that Evangeline sits here in the stands, in no particularly special place at all, wearing the same scowl when the two video streams finally pop on.

"THANK YOU, Jiling." The sarcasm nearly wilts Evangeline's microphone. Her voice comes through half-drowned out by all the cheering in the stands, and that's despite both the highly directional pickup AND two large, expensively-but-badly-dressed men in suits on either side of Evangeline pushing clear a two-seat space around her.

"We now RETURN to the new em-ee-see-see match just getting under way between Touta Konoe and-" Evangeline looks down at her palm and the notes inked in it, "-Jonethan Joester. They've said something to each other right then but I didn't quite catch that. Both are in a great mood - I wonder if either one is taking this truly seriously - and we've opened with bared fists. All offense. No defense. No finesse at all, just swinging at each other and trying to batter through - to batter through. Yes, the blows that makes one wonder whether EITHER of these are truly trained in martial arts. But don't worry, viewers, it's not about being fancy! Look at that stance. Both are loose and low in their stances, very solid connection with the ground there, very good power generated. Oooo, looks like a little bit of rocking on Touta's side. Those fists of-"

Evangeline glances down again, "-Jonethan's really do have some power behind it. But CAN he keep it up? IF he can find consistency-"
Jonathan Joestar Touta's attack is not given quarter, his knuckles impacting Jonathan's open palm. Jonathan expresses surprise as his wrist recoils as if hit by a particularly strong jab -- the kind a little kid shouldn't be able to throw! It wasn't too surprising though, he considered, as Touta had made it through a multitude of MECC fights without dropping out. Up close, he could see that though he had a childlike body, he was rigidly muscled as well. " 'Side-stick'? " Jonathan questions, giving Touta a moment to respond.

Striking him during dialogue was a cretin's tactic, after all. Grasping Touta's fist by closing his hand around his to keep him in place, Jonathan yanks him up into the air before releasing his grip and accelerating a triple-threat of jabs barraging into Touta's chest!

Having seen him take the previous blow well and dish out a good one in return, Jonathan escalates his speed and power, still not dipping into his supernatural powers. He was curious as to just what Touta could do now, after all.

The large, mountainous man seems bothered by something. Ah, Jonathan thinks, it would be disrespectful to take his attention off of Touta and correct that young lady announcing for the match. He takes it with grace, remaining poised in front of the crowd.
Touta Konoe      Touta's attack is stopped by the man's palm. There's recall but...Nothing? He knows he hadn't been going full force yet but he seriously considered that hit pretty reasonable. There's a bit of irritation that's starting to accrue now. It's one thing to get insulted with names or berated, but when someone just takes your blows the way Jonathan does...It's actually a lot more vexing than he imagined.

"Uwaaaah?!" Jonathan's assault proves to be quite vicious nailing Touta in a way that knocks the air right out of him. Hell he might have felt a rib crack under all those blows. This guy was a monster of a man to do this kind of damage with only his bare hands.

Breathing in, he looks back at Jonathan "Sable side-stick's the name of my blade, anyway don't think about it too-" And right in the middle of his statement Touta prepares to strike back aiming for a flurry of his own punches this time "...Much!" Sadly while Jonathan's been raised as a gentleman and to be courteous in fights, Touta's been taught by a certain individual that everything's fair...
Evangeline McDowell     "-with his OH! There goes a combination. EXCELLENT beat and advance from Jonethan and Touta. Touta just cannot keep up with the reach and speed! Both of them have gauged each other's strength and are moving in on their own perceived advantages. Touta is a small target and Jonethan has done well so far to land so many hits. But DESPITE the sheer power and reach available, Jonethan does not, does not want to rely on his natural advantages. He is trying to fight high, exactly where Touta can't. Touta cannot fight high without disrupting his own stance - it's just physics. DOES he take the bait, though? DOES he make the mistake of fighting Jonethan in his own natural grou- HE DOES! Touta Konoe... Touta Konoe has just attempted to beat Jonethan at his own game. High punches, WHILE imbalanced from the beat, WHILE his stance is high MUCH too high. Is that a stumble? Have we seen a stumble... it swings wide - did it bounce? - and Touta is off balance. Stumbling out of his counter. Is he injured? Maybe Jonethan's attack did much more than apparent. Punches tend to-"

Evangeline STILL hasn't taken a breath, and seems perfectly undistressed.
Jonathan Joestar Jonathan begins to nod in understanding, but his eyes widen as he perceives Touta's body tightening. In a show of sheer experience, Jonathan discerns exactly how his foe would attack him and counters each and every single one of Touta's attacks convincingly, instinctually taking in a deep breath. "Koooh!"

He seems guilty about it after repelling Touta's overly-ambitious surprise attack. It'd come so quickly and with such ferocity that his own innate battle instinct caused him to react with more of his ability than he had intended to use on what from his perception, was a very talented child yet a child none the less.

His arms and hands had created afterimages from how quickly he'd moved them to intercept Touta's fists. " .... I'm very sorry .... about that."

The boy looked frustrated. Jonathan supposed that was more than fair and readied himself again. He didn't want to patronize him with advice, especially not in front of an audience, so instead he decided to pull back a bit. He changed his stance to one of actual martial prowess -- a Tibetan form. Testing the waters, so to speak, Jonathan advanced with a knuckle-jab to segue into a full body spin, intent on delivering a chop to the back of Touta's head.
Touta Konoe      He missed again?! What was going on?! Jonathan reads Touta like a book! He's not just reading Touta, he's speed reading him. Blows are met with quick parries and blocks and yet nothing sticks. What's more...He can see it on Jon's face, a look of pity. Honestly, he can't blame the gentleman for doing as such. This was probably his worst match yet.

("Am I really gonna have my last match end like this?")

He was never really expecting to get far in this tournament but the last thing he wanted to do was disappoint by going out in such a way, especially after all the fights he had been through so far...

Jonathan distances himself to take his Tibetan form, Touta's gaze reaffirms solely focusing on the person in front of him. Lowering into a more neutral stance of his own as he bring one fist outward and the other locked into his chest. He was going to be ready.

Jonathan comes in with the knuckle jab, Touta makes the motions to block it as soon as it comes as he steps backwards to retain his positioning with him. But Jonathan's body spin gives him a bit more maneuverability than anticipated and the result is...

Another block! Jonathan's chop gets parried even as the larger man brings himself behind the younger contestant. Though it's not just enough to defend. Since Jonathan was already in position Touta shifts his neutral stance into a reverse bow in Jonathan's direction and using that shift in momentum he launches an elbow strike into the man's ribcage where he had opened himself up because of his chop! If he's gonna go out, one way or another he wants to do it in style!
Evangeline McDowell     "-leave a lot of internal damage IF thrown with sufficient follow-through. We could have could have seen the fight deciding blow already ... by Jonethan ... and we won't know until much, much later. Touta does look like he's suffering, but he is Is IS hanging on and isn't slowing down AT ALL. It may take several more. Does Touta realize his mistake? Can he fight outside of- Jonethan! Not pressing onwards. NOT fighting to his own advantages. Where is the pressure? Where is that consistency? Folks, this may just decide the match AGAINST Jonethan. He is trying. He is stretching for that deciding blow by coming with a spin. Trying to flourish. NOT keeping up the consistent punches that have worked so well for him up until this point in the fight. Touta WITH the dodge, REGAINS his stance, BACK to the low-ready and just in time to elbow that chop out of the way. This is Touta's element now. Speed and maneuver. That chop just leaves Jonethan's arm up wide out of the way. No flourishes, folks. They don't win fights, they win audiences. TOUTA! With the elbow! And that elbow just carries straight down into that opening. Touta's one advantages is speed. And maneuver. Touta's two advantages are speed and maneuver and detecting openi- AMONGST Touta's advantages in this fight are speed and maneu-"

    Still. Not. Breathing.
Jonathan Joestar Jonathan is glad to see the improvement as Touta pulls himself together, tempering himself. After fending off his attacks, he even lands a quick and powerful blow that knocks the wind out of Jonathan's proverbial sails! The water of the river sloshes and swirls, pushing the platform they fought on deeper down the canal. It was a testament to both fighters' footwork that neither had become compromised in balance from the shifting of their ground.

Reeling, Jonathan re-asserts his form and breathes in so deeply his chest visibly expands. Waves emenate from his body as the pain all but disappears. "A good blow!"

Jonathan hops back, seemingly out of even his own range to attack with. He throws a punch, and ... his arm goes much longer than it should, telescoping in at frightening speed to clock Touta so hard his body lifts off the ground!

If it connects, Jonathan dashes forward, healing his dislocated arm with Hamon Breathing to yank Touta back down and deliver a punishing barrage of palm thrusts and jabs. While he didn't want to go all out and beat Touta into the dirt, he also didn't want to baby him and thus, beyond that momentary relent, he went right back to an overbearing offensive.
Touta Konoe      Touta proves to get a solid blow back into Jonathan, "Of course! Can't let you say this was too easy!" The moment the blow lands, Touta's also reasserting his stance. He's finally getting some momentum going and it would be a waste to just let it all slip away now.

Jonathan begins closing the distance once more and for the most part Touta thinks he has his range figured out all he has to do is...

     *Boom*

The punch comes sooner than expected and but the thing is, Touta doesnt get lifted off the platform. In fact, he's rooted like a plant. It's like he's literally gripping the platform with his bare toes. A smile accrues on his face as he toughs out the impact though...

Rather it seemed he was fully intending to take that blow. He just wasn't expecting it to come a bit earlier. But when it does, Touta attempts to retaliate with a counter blow aimed to try and knock the air out of him again before he could start gaining back his own momentum. This is where he needed to start turning it around!

    "Doooryaaaah!"
Evangeline McDowell     "-ver. And. It. Seems. That Jonethan is becoming aware of this. He understands. There's a... that was not an illusion, folks. Jonethan just threw some kind of... some kind of Ourang-Outan Punch, extending on his already-superior reach. Touta is in a tough spot. A very tough spot. Close in, he hasn't room to maneuver. Far out, he doesn't have the reach. The donut of combat, of his advantage, is razor thing. This razor thin donut at short-mid range is the ONLY thing that he can rely upon, unless he thinks of another trick, and quick. Jonethan is not. IS NOT about to simply allow Touta to use the razor donut. There's the consistent punching. Blow after blow after blow. It is what won him the opening, and if Touta keeps being hammered like this, that'll be the match. There is is no finesse to this at all. For our boxing fans out there, you're not looking at distance control. You're not looking at fractions of an inch. There is no footwork. There is no combinations. This is just hammerblow after hammerblow. This is breaking the bones of your opponent before your opponent breaks the bones of your fist! Touta is cornered, mentally if not physically. He is trading. He is trading blows with Jonethan. It is ugly. It is effective. It is going to lose him the match. Jonethan has the power, has the physique, to dominate in this range. We're seeing both contestants slowing down a little now. Obviously a lot of damage... a lot of damage has been done already. Touta... with his sustain... MIGHT just be able to put up a little more-"
Jonathan Joestar Jonathan is shocked that Touta doesn't go flying. And that lull gets Touta the opening he was looking for to plow into the bigger man again! But, something's different this time. Attacking Jonathan is like attacking an iron fortress, his breathing uninterrupted allowing him to minimize the damage he takes without sacrificing his offense.

Electricity begins to crackle at his knuckles as Jonathan breathes in synch with his movement. His motions begin to blur as phantoms of his fist materialize and cracks of golden lightning begin to roil with every punch he sends Touta's way, attempting to overwhelm his defense with speed, precision and power.

On an instinctual level, Touta is racked with a natural aversion to the energy Jonathan is beginning to swell with.
Touta Konoe      Touta's fist lands it's mark but unlike before...It was like punching into Zenos' armor. He knows that Jon's wearing nothing of the sort though all he can feel from contact of his fist is pure unadulterated muscle. As far as opponents go..."You're seriously the brawniest of all of them..." That's when things really start lighting up. They're starting to spark in a way that almost reminded him of his fight with Ollie. Though when Touta attempts to block the first of Jonathan's strikes, the arm explodes on contact.

     "Uwaaaah?!"

The next one comes in and Touta dodges a body blow, but another fist comes in and he's forced to block again. And the other arm comes off as well! There's very little time to contemplate what the hell is occurring and Touta literalluy unarmed is forced to swing a stub of an arm he has at Jonathan not to strike him, but try and ruin his sigh by flinging blood into them. He only manages getting one but it's enough to get him to the other side of the platform to breath. He breathes heavily trying to process what in the hell just happened. "Okay that's definitely not lightning...But now that I know about it..."

It's at this point Jonathan will notice two things from the view of his unbloodied eye. The first is that the dismembered limbs that he had taken off the boy...They reform, but not in the same way as before. They're coming back almost as though they were black gauntlets. Being forged by something that felt dark and evil just by looking at it. The second thing he'll notice after all this time... As they've stand above the canal, this young boy has no reflection in the water... "Alright, see if he gets me this time with these... "

Without another word the young boy smiles at him just as he had in the beginning of this match and begins to close the distance between the two once more. He looks like he's going to put those demonic arms to work, but rather than going for a body blow this time, he switches things up!

He feints a body blow but slams a leg into Jonathan's knee in an attempt to break his stance and lower him down. From there the follow up would be a powerful uppercut intended to meet with Jonathan's well chiseled jaw!
Evangeline McDowell     "-with this barrage before crumpling. What's this? What's this? Jonethan is apparently glowing! With a ... hhideous sort of glow. It hurts the eyes to look at. Could it be some secret weapon? IS it a weapon too terrible to use, if you're too hideous for your opponent to look at? Is the price too high? I don't know, folks. I wouldn't know. What I do k- OH! Touta! Is. DISMEMBERED! Jonethan is punch the arms - HAS punched the arms off of Touta. Those arms are so much splatter against the arena floor! But for those of you who've been following up until now, Touta isn't one to take disarming laying down. Sure, he will gnaw you to death if he has to, but he still THERE IT IS! Those infamous black arms of Touta's. The reason that his sleeves never survive battle. The reason that he goes topless so often. We are looking at two HIDEOUS things. One hideously ... yellow. One hideously black. It isn't elegant. It is pure. Raw. Viole- RIGHT into the knee. DOES it b- AN upper cut. A perfectly executed uppercut, right from below Jonethan. From his weak direction. Touta taking advantage of Jonethan's focus. Focus on the upper stance. Going in the hole. That may well have turned this match around. DESPITE growing arms the size of Jonethans, Touta still remembers his place. Speed and maneuver, especially in these close quarters, and trying to end. In one solid-"
Evangeline's voice is a little more hoarse now, but she's not letting that stop her.
Jonathan Joestar Mortification overtakes Jonathan as he destroys Touta's limbs. He spirals into confusion, sure that he hadn't put /that/ much force into his blows. The look on his face is one of total horror as Touta with no arms to his name stumbles back. But -- clarity comes.

The reason he'd destroyed Touta's arms had been because of the Hamon surging through his body. Even though he hadn't used an Overdrive, the contact had still obliterated the undead's body parts as if he were a Zombie. Emitting a terrible and evil power, Touta's stubs shoot out two new devilish black arms!

Jonathan's expression hardens like stone. A vampire, he thinks. Was the youthful appearance of his foe a facade ... ?

Perhaps. Of course, not all vampires were evil. He'd come to realize that in the time he'd spent in the multiverse. Jonathan is sent down to his knee, his shinguards shattering.

Touta finds that Jonathan's face didn't budge upon being slugged. Rather, the energy that had begun to glow around his body intensified briefly before it all began to flow towards one arm. "It won't be that easy, vampire!"

"This Hamon will give you something to reflect on! Kooooooooooooooooooh!"

Hamon swirled around his fist as he puts all his weight onto his good leg, springing upwards with an uppercut! The sun-like energy had turned a bright a vivid red. " SCARLET RED OVERDRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE! "

He sends his explosive fist straight at Touta's jaw, intent on obliterating his head instantly with a blast of fiery Hamon. While Undead varied somewhat from world to world, their heads were consistently a weakspot, he knew.
Touta Konoe      It's not even a matter of Jonathan calling him out as a vampire that has him concerned. The moment the mountain of a man went rigid, Touta's instincts were flaring out about the danger that was about to ensue. Still Touta finds himself smiling a bit as Jonathan makes his declaration.

"Hamon...Never heard of that before. Alright Joestar, give me you're best shot!"

Touta has no time to put any distance between the two. Jonathan's here and he's going to give it everything he has to really finish off Touta. Touta can already fill a surge of killing intent from this guy, and in response to that intent Touta has no choice but to meet the uppercut head on. His left hand goes into a downward palm block to try and intercept the blow!

Thankfully, or surprisingly for Jonathan, the arm doesn't blow up as quickly as this time. The surge of Hamon is definitely being transmitted though and the shouts of Touta screaming definitely makes it seem that he's not enjoying what's occurring to the rest of his arm that's just starting to gush blood sporadically as though the very arteries in it arm just bursting from the sensation.

"G-Guess if I'm gonna reflect it's now or never..." Touta even in this amount of pain starts focusing. He never came to this tournament for glory, only to better himself. And some way or another he was slowly getting there. The crutches he had needed for so long were slowly becoming less and less of a necessity and it was because of opponents like this. The ground below the two forms conjures a circle. The symbol of Yin and Yang, with Jonathan in yang, and Touta within yin. The Hamon that had begun surging into that fist feels different. As if it's flow is being distorted in a way. That the flow into Touta's arm was being diverted in some way and he could tell that the discomfort that Touta was experiencing was beginning to fade to a certain degree... It's then that he'll see something that shouldn't make any sense.

The right fist that he had tucked into his position starts shining with electricity. It's just sparks at first but then it starts getting brighter. It's shade begins to change into red.

"I got really lucky with you as a last opponent...I wish I could give you something more original but this is all I can do right now. So better clinch those teeth!!!!"

The winded back fist begins accruing more Hamon and rather than giving off the same scarlet color Jonathan had done, the red he amasses is darker, perhaps it was because of enveloping such a dark fist or another factor but for that reason the attack that came next would at least seemed appropriately named at the very least as he brought his own fist down at Jonathan's face in retaliation.

         " Crimson Red OVERDRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE! "
Evangeline McDowell     "-blow the, well. Jonethan. Jonethan has jaws that will not move. Will not budge. He could very well chew concrete for breakfast. Terrible flavor. And NOW it's Touta's turn to test his jaw. Some sort of reddish, glowing punch, a straight, coming up through the left-side hole in Touta's guard - he STILL hasn't recovered from that uppercut! Sloppy, and surprised perhaps at the outco-"
Evangeline breaks off suddenly as someone shouts, from behind the camera, "SHUT THE FUCK UP GIRL we're trying to watch here!"

Evangeline looks at some point behind the camera, then lifts a leg, plants one foot on the back of the seat, and leaps offscreen to the left. The stream for Evangeline's camera abruptly cuts to "TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES", though the larger video continues transmitting Touta trading regular lightning for red lightning.
Jonathan Joestar Touta's fist explodes with fiery Hamon, and the blast sends Jonathan sailing off of the arena and into the rapids propelling the arena along. "N...no! I lost ... he threw my own Hamon back at me?!"

But a second loss he did take, and to a vampire none the less. This time, he'd be the one reflecting. He wondered if on some level, he went easy on him at the end. .... Well, probably so. Touta Konoe wasn't an evil person, and even when Jonathan stopped holding back he had still underestimated him.

He'd never expected a vampire to be able to channel his Hamon and as a result, he was defeated. Jonathan manages to surface and shockingly, walks on the water back to the platform. "...Well, it seems as though this is my loss. Congratulations."

His burned face was already healing due to the effects of the Shrine, something he was incredibly thankful for.
Touta Konoe      "Joestar!!!"

Without another word the moment that Jonathan gets flung into the rapids Touta literally jumps in after the guy. Why he does that you might ask? Maybe cause getting punched like that and getting back up seemed improbable, maybe it was to finish the job in case somehow this guy /STILL/ wasn't down for the count. Or maybe it was because Touta really wasn't such an evil vampire and he was concerned for his last opponent.

"Eh?" And before he realizes it Jonathan finds his way to not just get back on the stage but to do so by walking on water no less! Who was this guy?!!?!? After a few moments to swim back to platform against the rapids which was...Impressive in its own regard I guess, Touta finds Jonathan congratulating him.

"Thanks, honestly you were probably one of the scariest fighters I had to go up against. You some sort of vampire slayer or something? Well...Whatever you are, yeah it was a great fight. I'd be happy to do it again some time...In the shrine." Without another word he gives that same relaxed smile from the beginning of the match and offers a handshake to his opponent, even knowing the guy could still probably kill him with just a touch if he wanted to...
