Ganondorf Dragmire      SAINT MARTHA'S MERCY HOSPITAL, TARASCON, FRANCE
     JUST AFTER SUNSET

The dimming orange of the vanishing day is offset by fire and steel. The hospital's lowest level is ablaze, smoke pouring forth from broken windows. A mob of unruly peasants more at home in a medieval setting roil about with pitchforks and torches. Torn clothes have been turned into bags to carry jars of all manner of medicines. Salves, pills, bandages, tongue depresses, syringes - anything that can be grabbed has been, looted in a frenzy tinged with desperate madness. It's chaos, chaos that the police are trying desperately to quell with as little violence as possible, knowing full well that the first shot will take the desperate madness and turn it to wild and volatile passion. Right now, the mob can be contained mostly peaceably, but...

     Well.

And with the warp gate so nearby, the police are counting on reinforcements. It's probably safe to say that someone will be along shortly; Saint Martha's Mercy is a well-positioned hospital ready to care for injuries on a Multiversal scale, and while it lacks the sheer breadth of factional hospitals, it's a decent stopgap for those in need. In fact, anyone who could be convinced to hit this place would have to be desperate; it's *too* close to a warp gate, and considering all the security most local places have around theirs...

Well. It can't be an accident.

Approaching, and getting involved in, the riot, makes it very clear - these people aren't quite human. Oh, mostly human - normal-looking to a point. Or, rather, two points.

     Their ears.

The clothing, the language, make it clear - they're Hylians. Poor Hylians, by the sound of it. Some of them are screaming about needing the medicine for their child. Some of them are howling about needing the medicine for their parents. It's a pitiable sight, these people, all arrayed with makeshift weapons against a modern police force, in their ragged clothes clutching jars and bottles, pills stuffed into pouches and eyes wild. They stand no chance.

This was very probably not their idea.
Riku Well, this is messed up.

Riku steps forward from the top of the hospital and looks down at the mob below, squinting at the situation unfolding below. "The hell?" He says to himself as he sees the distinctive pointed ears of Hylians (or elves, take your pick). "What are they doing /here/?" He asks no one in particular. With a quick flip, he vaults over the edge in blatant disregard for OSHA standards and runs down the side of the hospital for several stories before kickflipping off to land without somehow splattering on the pavement in a crouch before the main entrance.

This probably knocks a few Hylians aside, but Riku doesn't seem to care about the incidental contact or even this section of the riot, simply pushing forward to get into the hospital.

Something else is going on here and he doesn't know enough. A nearby fire extinguisher box promptly crushes open as shadows lengthen towards it, wrapping aroudn the extinguishes and whipping it to his hand as he walks inside.

He doesn't have /water/ magic. God. Who do you think he is?
Staren     Staren steps out of the warpgate after hearing that someone was robbing a hospital. But this...

These poor people may have been tricked, but they need help. And they can't possibly know which medicine is for what when it's probably all bottles with long chemical names on it.

Staren approaches the group. His suit speakers play an air horn noise, and then he speaks:

"I am Staren Wiremu, Hand of the Concord!" It may mean nothing to them now, but it may matter later. "You are in need, I see that. But you can't just give random medicines to sick people and hope it's the right one. You need doctors. Calm down and everyone will get what they need, in time. There's no need to burn buildings."

Elsewhere, robots collect firefighting supplies and head to warpgates, while nanofactories queue construction of medical supplies. Staren sure hopes AI doctors can take care of most of these peoples' problems, because he's not a doctor himself. ...Where's that Maricel Thorne lady when you need her, she loves healing people.
Reina Kinney INSIDE REINA KINNEY'S SHUTTLE...

The red-head is taking it easy in her quarters, reclining on the couch and watching a rerun of a Gurhalian sitcom that's better than nothing in Reina's opinion. She sits idly sipping her drink and yawning, contemplating turning off the viewscreen and taking a short nap. However, her thoughts about taking a nap are interrupted by her communications console beeping, and she quickly jumps up and rushes to the console to respond. She taps a couple of buttons and then says, "This is Kinney, go ahead."

"Attention all GUARDIANS members:" The robotic voice of Lou says on the other end. "Assistance has been requested at Saint Martha's Mercy Hospital in Tarascon, France. If anyone is able to assist, please respond now."

"This is Kinney," Reina responds. "I'm on my way now!" With that, Reina rushes to the controls of her shuttle and sets the coordinates into her teleporter system, before running to the teleporter to beam down to the location where the rioting is occurring.

ON THE SURfACE...

Reina arrives in a flash of light. She's not too far from the warpgate, meaning she's not directly inside the rioting itself, which is a good thing since when she's provoked in a situation like that, she tends to resort to immediate violence which, unfortunately, can sometimes lead to unnecessary collateral damage. Having a fair distance from the rioters, Reina attempts to try to gain some control by pointing her finger at them and calling out, "ZONDE!" Which shoots forth a blast of lightning, which is intent on stunning the rioters in hopes of bringing them under control.
Majima Goro The hospital is on fire.
Goro Majima does not know much about this new, crazy multiverse he's just entered, but fine. Welcome to Flaming Hospital Land, or something? Not really his problem. What matters is this.
There are delinquent elves that have set a hospital on fire, and they've got weapons. This is crazy. He tries to push his way through the crowd, only for a few of the farmers to turn to him, weapons drawn.
"Alright. This is crazy by MY standards! I love it!" From somewhere, he draws a wooden bat, cracking his neck back and forth.
HYLIANS
The first farmer to come near him with a clumsy stab of the pitchfork finds a bat in the side of his head. He's going to keep going until the number of angry rioting farmers has decreased or anyone stops him.
Raziel Raziel materializes on the other side of the warp gate, stepping through as the world seemed to spin dizzyingly around him.  The ghost was not as he normally was, but rather in a rather knightly outfit, covering his stomach and legs, hiding his more ghastly features, while a cowl still held over his mouth.  His eyes blazing, and his cloven hands and feet still apparent.

He walks by the police line, holding a hand up to pause them as he walks towards the crowd.  Staren makes his demands as Raziel speaks firmly and resolutely.  "By placing your needs above others, you are denying others medicine and care.  I ask you calmly to stop what you are doing and talk with myself or Hand Staren, so we can resolve this situation peacefully."

Should Raziel be attacked, however, he uses his telekinetic powers to hold and toss the person aside.  He is not offensive, but he is more than willing to defend himself.  "I hope that you have learned your lesson, I am more than capable of defending myself."
Link There is a horse riding towards the hospital through the warpgate. This is also weird. Epona, the reddish-brown mare, sprints forward, carrying her green tunic-wearing rider at full speed. They head towards the hospital after they hear the disturbance.

It looks like Hylians. Poor Hylian farmers. Link recognizes their clothes immediately. If they told him of their villages, he'd probably know them. Despite growing up in the human village, he knows enough about other villages. So he's immediately sympathetic to them. As he hears the speeches, Link considers his own.

He's terrible at speeches. Not confident enough. So instead, as he demounts Epona, he draws his sword. It's not for the rioters.

Majima will notice someone coming at him right as he moves to swing at a rioter. The sword slides to block the bat, weapon against weapon, as the swordsman stares Majima down. "Don't hurt them."

He's prepared for a fight. If Majima's not going to back off, it's going to be a bat vs sword duel, Link vs Majima. Unless something else happens, of course!
Touta Konoe      Touta's never really had a reason to go to many hopsitals in the Multiverse, for obvious reasons. Though when comms pick up something about a hospital on fire, and especially one that's so close to a Warpgate of all places, it's as though someone's just asking people to intervene. He figures that some of the factions will heed the call when a hospital lights up. With Touta's arrival he's just about ready to bust some heads as people are literally carrying medicine with nothing but the clothes off their back. That's rough to see.

Seeing Staren try to calm down the riot crowd, Touta tries to step in as well to give damage control, while him and Staren may not see eye-to-eye on certain things they can both agree that these people need help and for that endeavor. "Yeah! If you guys need medicine no sweat! Staren and the Concord can get you /WAY/ better medicine than what they have here! So listen to what he has to say and he'll make sure you guys and your families are taken care of!"

Unfortunately, people are already deciding to take more impactive action when it comes to Reina and Goro. Link seems to be dealing with the guy wielding the bat so that leaves Touta with...

     "Hold up a sec- Aaaaaah!!!"

And like that Touta steps in the way of Reina's lightning bolt. It's probably gonna singe him a bit, but if anything he's use to lightning and he can probably pick himself up pretty quickly.

"Think...We can hold off on the electricity just for a minute?" He doesn't know Reina too well, but hopefully after just shocking what looks to be a pleading teenager she'll be more willing to accept his offer.
Majima Goro The wooden bat blocks the sword surprisingly well. His brow raises, as his gaze moves to a...different goofy elf. In pajamas. Looking straight out of some shonen manga for literal children. Is this the world he lives in now?
Because this is amazing. A grin forms on his face, and then he starts to laugh, sliding back slowly from the parry. "Alright. You wanna tell me what to do, kid? Then you better show me what you got." His gaze looks positively manic as he starts to..practically emanate a strange, bright yellow fire, from his shoulders. There's no heat, it's harmless, but...it looks like he's actively ready to rumble.
"Listen. I'm not sure about any of what's going on here, and I don't care. But I understand this sort of language. Show me what you've got. I wanna see what kinda crazy crap they got out here." He takes a combat stance, readying for--he doesn't even know. He doesn't even know, and that's AMAZING.
Ganondorf Dragmire      Riku crushes the fire extinguisher with ease. Foam sprays out, coating the torchfires. They were a distraction and nothing more. As the smoke starts clearing, Riku catches sight of a group of doctors, with their hands behind their heads. They look like they're being marched down into the basement - where there's probably a second access.

Staren starts shouting about trying to fix things. Raziel helps try to calm them down. These are the common clay of Hylia, the salt of the earth. These people do not know or care what the Concord is. But he promises medicines. He promises people will get help. The one with the megaphone shouts, "The Gerudo King promised the same! He will bring the doctors! We will take the medicines! He has already led us here! What can you do for us that he cannot?" They sound genuinely hopeful, desperate people. They aren't mind-warped. They aren't being deluded. They're just...looking for aid. Providing it might help.

Well, providing it might've helped before Reina unleashes Zonde. Fortunately, Touta's on hand to mitigate. The unruly crowd, rather than being electrocuted into the ground, is saved, and quickly swarms around Touta, making heroic stands to protect the young man who risked himself for them. Some of them help him up with the kindness of peasant farmers taking care of their own. A few of them pat him on the back. Someone offers him some (stolen) bandages.

Majima just plasters a farmer before Link goes at him. The crowd makes room for them. They want none of this. They do not want this battle. They are poor, peasant people, hungry and tired and sick. They want to live. They do not want to die.

And then the impromptu duel is interrupted.

Riku is the first to catch sight of it. It's a black blur. It shoots past Riku, the foam and smoke swirling in its wake. Then it moves through the Hylians, knocking none of them over, remarkably precise despite its overwhelming speed.

A fist relaxes. Threads of light disappear into the ether. A golden glow shines from the back of a gloved hand.

     The Gerudo King.

He is nearly nine feet tall. He is handsome, in the way that a blade might be handsome, hardened and sharpened by whetsone and use. He is unquestionably massive, but more than that, his presence is massive. The crowd calms down around him. His mere existence is enough to still them, to bring them to calm. Menace swirls around him like a cloak. Next to him, a dark blue flame hovers, hanging just over his shoulder. Behind his cloth mask, he opens his mouth.

     "Enough."

"I am Ganondorf Dragma'ir, King of the Gerudo."

"You will part immediately and allow these people back through their warp gate. What they have taken can be replaced. What you will take from them cannot."

"Contest me at your peril. I will fight to defend them, and you will fall. Be sensible and let them pass."

The cops waver. They have no orders. They have no direction. They're being faced with a nine-foot-tall monster of a man in desert clothing, with a glowing gold triangle on the back of his hand. They have *no idea* what to do.
Staren     "Not only can I offer medicine that doesn't have to be stolen from others... I can offer youth! Machines that will continue to heal!" Staren starts explaining, but then, Zonde! That's... Crys's magic? Staren turns to see... that's not Crys! He looks back at the crowd to see Touta mitigating things.

And then the King of Darkness arrives.

"Your terms are reasonable. If your people will leave quietly, I won't stop them. But the hostages do not have to go with them, unless they volunteer. And I would like to work out how to help them so that they don't need to rob any more hospitals."
Riku Riku sees the black blur rush past him, and Riku almost falls over from the movement, as fast and surprising as it was. After all, Riku is not one of his people. Something about it catches his attention... And then it forms into that mighty figure of the Gerudo King. Riku stares for a moment...

But something else drags his attention away. Doctors, being marched into the basement? Something's going on here. He frowns, and quickly slips forward, working to follow the doctors into the basement, quickly grabbing a spare labcoat and tugging it on in order to blend in. Sure, he looks a little young for it, but do THESE people know the difference?
Link Link wants to protect these people. He shouts to the Concord, that he will not let them harm him. It's a heroic gesture. He's not sure what he can do, but he can try. Majima prepares to allow Link the firstr strike. Link takes a stance. It's a swordsman's stance - someone who knows Absolutely how to use a blade. Link's about to strike.

A black blur passes forward. Link's interrupted. The Gerudo King is here.

Link jumps back, changing his stance towards Ganondorf. He's intimidating. Impressive. Awe-inspiring. If he is indeed Link's mortal foe...Link's nto sure what to do. The least he can do is take another stance, and speak. "I...I am Link, the prophesied hero of Hyrule. I..." Ganondorf talks over the radio. He knows who Link is. Link stops in his tracks. Ganondorf attacks him where it hurts - his uncertainty of how to be a hero, what is Right.

Link's stance falters, briefly, before he picks it up. But he does not attack Ganondorf. He simply asks a question, one with a myriad of meanings.

"Why?"
Raziel "If he has promised you these medicines...then why are you stealing them?  Why is he not here to take them for you, or better yet, to help provide them for you?  The answer is that he is looking to use your desperation for his own gain," Raziel says, right back towards the peasants.

"The difference is that I can provide on what I offer, your lord does not and instead uses you to do his work.  Not only that, you have endangered people...people who had nothing to do with your strife, people had nothing to do with your pain or your mistreatment.  You are inflicting them the same suffering you are under."

Of course, the man himself finally makes an appearance.

'The man was one of power, I could feel it just pour from his body in every sense of the word.  Handsome without measure, but also louder than life.  He was very much the picture of Kain, the comparison in my head came to, and it was not a pleasant realization.  He claims to be these people's champion, but I have come to mistrust those who claim the moral high ground so easily.'

Raziel mushes towards the King of Darkness, his right hand, noticeably, glows with a hungry power, washing over the entire arm like cancer that can not be removed.

"Do not try and equivocate, you are using these people, for what ends I know not.  You say that these medicines can be returned in time, but that time is likely to mean someone's death or injury forever.  You are putting both these people and countless more in danger.  If you are quite done with this show, /calm/ these people down and deal with us the correct way."
Majima Goro Goro Majima tch. The bat's swung around again, tip planted in the ground. He leans on it with both hands, as everything proceeds to go from the realm of 'some crazy hooligan elves rioting over something' to 'one of those elaborate setups where he usually bails until things get less insane'. Still, the kid in the green's got a real hate-on deal for the tall guy in the stupid desert outfit, and he's not about to ruin that. Rivalries between men are rivalries between men. You don't interfere with those.

Leaves him with a problem, though. Hell does he do now?
Tap. Tap. The bat taps. No. No, the adrenaline's pumping now. He's not wasting this. There's that other jackass who was tryin' to tell him what to do. There's a strict subset of people allowed to tell Majima what to do, and whoever this guy is, he ain't it. And it doesn't send a good message to his new buddies if he doesn't make it clear he isn't some errand boy like you saw back in the eighties.
"HEY! CAPTAIN 'GO FIND SOMEONE ELSE' OFF THE INTERNET! YOU ACTUALLY HERE?!" He calls out, swinging the bat around. He points to one of the farmers.
"Hey! Where's that guy who was shoutin' at me earlier! Go find him! Here, you can have..uh..." He pulls out a solid tin can, tossing it to the beleaguered poor man. It says 'Staminan X' on the label. "It's good for what ails you, now find me that little crap what was trashtalking me and I've got another one for you!"
Reina Kinney The electricity seems to do the job, and Reina smiles a little. "Ironic, considering I'm 'allergic' to electricity. Funny how TECHNICs work." But the smile soon fades as the man known as Ganondorf makes his appearance, and for a moment, all Reina can do is stare in disbelief. "Is this guy for real?" She asks to no one in particular while raising an eyebrow with a hint of sarcasm. "I mean, seriously, what kind of woman adds 'Dorf' to their kid's name?" She shrugs. "Now's not the time for crap like that."

While she starts to make her way towards the hospital, Reina also opts to keep an eye on things here. She doesn't activate any of her weapons, nor does she cast any more TECHNICs at all. Instead, she simply watches carefully, a look of uneasiness and alertness mixing together on her face as she keeps an eye on Ganondorf. She also keeps an eye on the Hylians to make sure they don't get aggressive again, lest she have to give them another shock treatment...
Ganondorf Dragmire      Riku sneaks down with the doctors. They're being led by a pair of Hylians who have managed to get guns, pushed along into the emergency access. The Hylians are talking in hushed terms about how excited they are to have been chosen to help the great King personally. Maybe they'll get Gerudo wives. Maybe they'll get to live in the fabled palace of the Gerudo, surrounded by beauties. They're base, easily-swayed men; not clever. Riku can probably take them out without trouble.

Staren makes an offer. Ganondorf waves his hand dismissively at Staren. "The Royal Family holds the Warp Gate. Without my aid, they will not get past. Without my aid, they will receive nothing. Ask the Hero. He knows it is so. They let him pass and speak of him hopefully and yet give him eyes at the checkpoints as if he is Gerudo. They gaze at him with angry eyes, wondering why he, a poor boy from nowhere, was chosen to be the one to earn glory when he is nothing but a dirt-farming child. They are envious of his power and yet eager for him to die so that we can both be cast from the world. They will not let you through. They will levy tax upon your shoulders and take all that they can take. They will steal what you have brought to offer as their rightful and just due, and you will be left with no choice but to see the truth of that land for yourself."

"Without me, they will have nothing. And I will not leave without doctors."

"To take what we want is the Gerudo way."

Ganondorf holds up his hand, as if illustrating. "To take what's been denied us. To take what we need. To take what is needed by the Gerudo. That is the only way the Hylians left to us, so it is the way we survive."

Raziel declares that Ganondorf doesn't care about the people. Link asks why. Ganondorf answers them both with one sweeping gesture.

"Let me tell you an old Gerudo joke."

There is the sense that he's sneering behind his mask. "*Hylian Nobility.*"

The people laugh. It's not fake. It's not mechanical. It's genuine humor. Ganondorf laughs with them. Everything about the man is huge and over the top, and his laugh is nothing short. It echoes through the quelling riot. He closes his fist again, and people go silent. He's a man who can lead through gestures alone. "I do not claim to care for these people. I am defending them because they are useful to me. In turn, I am useful to them as their shield."

"All peoples use each other, comes a high, cold voice from the flame at his shoulder. Ganondorf tilts his head slightly in acknowledgement. "That's just the truth of the world. As if the Great King of Evil would take a moral stance."

Ganondorf laughs again, and it's deep and cold, and rolls along the crowd, and they do not laugh with him this time.

Meanwhile, Goro demands to know where Touta is. The farmer is much too scared of him to argue. He points after the crowd where Touta was being helped up by the kindness of farmers. He takes the Staminan X in his hands and cradles it like it's a precious gem. These people are *needy*.
Link Link swallows as Ganondorf lets loose the truth about Hylian nobility. He can't deny it - there's a revolution on the way from the taxes, after all. Everything Ganondorf says sounds valid to him. Even if he's stealing doctors, and that's wrong...the others can deal with it. Link steps forward towards Ganondorf.

And then he turns, eying the rioters, and then eying Staren and Raziel. "Let them leave with the medicine."

The sword stance is taken again, if anyone seems hostile. "They need it. He can get them past the checkpoints." Or at least, Link presumes, since Ganondorf got here at all, there must be a warpgate he's taking.
Raziel "If what you say is true, then oh king of darkness...then how will these people walk back through that gate?  Will the nobility not levy the heavy tax the moment they walk through?  Will they not be prevented from going home?"

"Nay, if what you say is true, instead people will be lead to their dooms.  Or worse, used as political pieces," he says, squaring his eyes right at Ganon.  Even as Link comes to defend Ganon, Raziel holds a hand up towards the Hero of his world.

"You are thinking too short-sightedly.  You will guide them back today.  What about the next time they want for medicine?  Will you guide them back to steal and riot again?  Will you put other people at the axeman because they are not yours?  How long until other forces become tired of raids on their homes to bring the war to your kingdoms?  /To your homes./"

Raziel says, looking out to all of the other people, and then back to one of the peasants.  "Do you want to fight an army of people like me?  Or you?  You?" he points at people in succession.  "So instead of trying to treat the symptoms, we treat the problem directly.  You return what you have taken, you allow us to take you in for treatment, and take you home and get doctors to your villages."

"Then we talk with the nobility.  It is a noble's job to provide for his people, it is their obligation as someone who has a title and people.  Their laxing on their duties is just as inexcusable as this spectacle."
Staren     Some fly-size spy drones alight among the throng of Hylians. Potential spies.

"The royal family will steal from ME? Let them try." Staren answers. "If they take advantage of their people, let them suffer like this because they are the rulers, then they are no friends of mine, or the Concord's."

Staren has a sudden realization: "I don't need the warpgates. Does the Hyrule royal family have a /space-faring military/ that will try to stop me? If not, I will bring supplies directly, from the skies."

Staren makes an encompassing gesture at the crowd of Hylians. "To take what you want is the Gerudo way, yet you deride the royal family for doing the same. At the end of the day, they both use people... and you would make the hylians none better. You would turn these people into raiders and kidnappers."

The King of Evil may not care for morals, but what about these people? Staren addresses the throng beside them: "Let the doctors go except for those who volunteer to help you. I will come with you, if need be. But you are no longer desperate -- help has been offered freely. To kidnap people against their will or not is YOUR choice, not your king's. What will it be, people of Hyrule?"
Touta Konoe      "Huh, ah no...I'm fine, seriously but..." Touta's surprised to see the people so willing to make him into a 'hero'. Even going out of their way to hand him bandages that they were going out of the way to take in such a manner because they needed it. But if they can give it away just as willingly, "...You guy, you guys need to get over to the Concord guy right now. Things might get crazy and none of you should try to get in the way unless you wanna get hurt! Medicine's not gonna do all your families good if you're not able to bring them any right?! So go!" Touta eggs on the people to head to where Staren is, if anything he trusts the guy can deal with collecting the medicine to either return it to the hospital or whatever. He's with Concord they'd have the resources to deal re-supply this hospital a few times over if needed and still give these villagers the medicine they needed.

After he's urged everyone Staren's way, he turn towards the booming voice of Ganondorf, and man does this guy have a word or two he wants to say to him and that's when he hears someone else's voice shout out and turns in the direction, he sees one of the farmers point him out in the crowd of those who applauded him. To Goro the person who gets pointed out is...A kid. No seriously, he probably looks the youngest of all the people here. Probably even younger than Link. A teenager who looked maybe like he was Fourteen at the oldest (he's older than that unfortunately) but that would be the upper limit. A kid adorned in black from head to toe, even the sword he's holding his jet black. He's probably not even that tough. Hell the moment he sees Goro eyeing him the way he does...

"All of you, get out of here! Pick it up!"

He's telling them to go quicker. But that's not just cause of Goro, with what looks like Link picking sides, things look like they really are gonna get messy. If that's the case...Touta's gonna have to stand in the way of Goro and the folks. He says nothing to Goro, he's not even making a step towards him. But Goro should tell what Touta's thinking with just a look alone, 'Are we really gonna do this?'
Riku Riku follows along with the emergency access group, slowly moving closer and closer to the guys with the guns. They keep talking about how well they're going to be rewarded, about their desires.

Riku scowls. Well, time to ruin their plans. Again, Riku's shadow suddenly lengthens beneathe him, swinging around before him and stretching in front of the pair before Riku yells. "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!?"

That thing, of course, is a massive dark form, golden-eyed and with massve muscled arms the end in dark claws. It pulls itself out of the shadow, rising ominously before the pair. The thing is surrounded in a harness of white tattered bandages as it looms forward aggressively.

The pair will inevitably panic and shoot at it. But that's useless to them. After all, where would they shoot? It has no heart, the chest gaping wide open in a heart-shaped hole.

Riku takes this moment to reach forward from behind them while they are distracted, grabbing them from the sides and slamming their heads against each other in a sudden surge of intense strength that one wouldn't expect from a teen.

Once they fall, Riku scoops up the guns and hands them to the doctors. "Come on, let's get out of here. Stay behind me and don't panic."

The horrifying monster merges back into the shadow as Riku breaks into a quick run, heading to the end of the emergency access in order to see who or what is waiting for them.

The Hylians are left there on the floor. Riku's mercy is not killing them.
Reina Kinney Seeing that things still seem to be under control for now, Reina continues to advance on the hospital, still keeping an eye on the Hylians and Ganondorf himself. Despite what he's been saying, Reina's got a lot of suspicion about him. Despite what he claims, Ganondorf doesn't entirely seem to be too honest about things. In fact, when she sees Link agreeing with Ganondorf, she stops and gives them both suspicious glares. In this case, she actually stops completly and stares at them, now starting to feel her suspicion rising.

She'd heard about Link and how he was supposed to be a hero or something, but now he's agreeing with Ganondorf? That definitely doesn't seem right.

Through her radio communicator, Reina hears the doctors are being escorted out. That brings a slight feeling of relief to Reina, but she continues to keep an eye on things where she is. She doesn't want to risk anything happening to them now that things seem to be completely under control.
Majima Goro The farmer receives his second can. Majima pays his debts. "...y'know. Listen. Some poor civilians? Not really my thing. When they wanted to come at me? That's no biggie. I'll show 'em who's boss." He steps forward once towards Touta, the bat behind his neck, the man slowly stepping back and forth while leaning from side to side. One hand on each end. "You, though? Y'know, I'm gettin' the feeling ya ain't some civvie. Gettin' that 'punk who thinks he's hot stuff cause he beat up some muggers once' vibe outta your ass." He's getting closer.
"So. You want me to go to that 'shrine' or whatever, huh? Tell you what. I'll make you a deal. I'm not big on beatin' up a bunch of poor idiots getting manipulated by someone playing them like fools, but I don't like letting some punk make me look out to be weak either. So. We're doing this. You. Me. Ya don't, I'll crack skulls of whoever I feel like until you do. How's that sound?" He grins widely at Touta.

"That sound like some motivation for ya?" He asks. "Cause y'know, I could just go hit that Ganon guy or whatever. Let this get REAL interesting."
Ganondorf Dragmire      Riku dispatches the Hylian goons. They hit the ground without any kind of fight. They're too terrified. He can hear them, as they fall to their knees, beg the Great King of Evil for forgiveness. As if it's something Ganondorf did. As if that action is-

Well, that tells Riku something else about the Gerudo King's power. That, or they're very, very rural hicks who know absolutely no better than to blame all evils on a man whose nickname appears to *literally* be the Great King of Evil.

     It's actually hard to tell.

The maintenance tunnels are a pain in the ass to navigate, but on the other side of them are a pair of Hylians similarly-armed and armored, waiting in front of several vehicles. The vehicles drip with some strange purple light, and red circuits run along their sides as if possessed.

Raziel asks a reasonable question. Ganondorf closes his hand. Threads shimmer in his wake, like he's grabbing hold of the universe.

Not a breath later and he's behind Raziel. His hand is on the ghost's shoulder. He shimmers as he releases the threads, and the universe seems to unscrunch.

A golden glow lights the palm not touching Raziel.

"I said as much already. The Triforce of Power is mine. I can get them past the checkpoints before they even know I am there. I got them through the first time, after all."

He releases his grip on Raziel and walks back over to his position. "You are free to talk to the nobility if you wish. Feel free. But while you bicker and argue, they will suffer. And the world will grow more and more poised on the brink."

The Hylians are farmers. Staren's drones are unnoticed. They're not anything interesting. None of them are holding secret weapons. None of them are possessed. They're just...people. Desperate, hungry, sick, tired people. They're following a demagogue who promises help in exchange for help. That's all there is to this.

Staren talks about promises from the sky. About bypassing the royal family. About not needing help. He receives...

     Rotten fruit.

"We've heard it before!" A woman shouts as she hurls a fruit at his face. "We've heard it all before! Let's talk to the nobles! We don't need to worry about the nobles!"

A big man snorts. "You want to talk to them! You all want to solve things with them, but they don't want things solved! They take more than their share - they take what we need! We're taking it back!"

"The Gerudo King offered us help in exchange for doctors. Why should we care what happens to foreigners! Why should we trust you over him? He's already gotten us here! He froze the men at the Gate and all we had to do was walk past! And we'll get out, too!"

Ganondorf towers over Staren. "To take what we want is what is left to the Gerudo because of the Hylians. How dare you, from a land of plenty, try to stand above me for taking the only road? How dare you, from a land of plenty, imagine that you can so arrogantly cure all our ills?"

     "Crush him."

     Ganondorf's fingers flex.

     "Crush him, my king!"

     Those muscles are huge.

"He's in the way. He won't stop. He's one of those fools who thinks that they can solve everything. You're better off just going right through him."

     "Silence."

The blue flame goes silent. Ganondorf's eyes linger on Staren's own, then turn to Link.

     "...thank you."

"I am in your debt, Hero of Courage. I will make sure to repay it one day."

The King of the Gerudo starts moving towards the cars. "Enough has been said. Either stop me with force or let them pass."

The cops sure won't stop him with force. They're all scared to hell of the ten-foot-tall man before them.
Touta Konoe      "...I guess I'm making a new friend today." That's his response to all of Goro's declaration of him being some street punk who's in over his head. Which is a pretty easy assumption to make of this kid. Goro then asks for his name before taunting him again...'Touta-chan'...THE VILE FIEND!!!

The kid stares daggers at the guy for a moment as if trying to size up Mr.Homerun and in that next moment, he finally starts speaking up.

     "Grasp the Earth..."

The concrete below his feet crumbles somewhat and in the next moment that kid's gone! Or rather, it's less that he's gone and he's turned into a blur charging straight at Goro at blinding speeds! It's only when he gets in striking range that the blur becomes something tangible, that snobby looking kid with his sword brought back on his right side.

"You wanted this?! Well here ya go!"

So he's gonna oblige as he swings the back of his blade right Goro's side!
Staren     Rotten fruit splats against Staren's visor. He wipes it off and puts up the forcefield.

Why did they even bother bringing that?

Staren glares up at Ganondorf. Not going to let this man intimidate him. His fists clench. "It is no longer the only road."

He looks to the people. "You complain that the nobles care not for you. You rejoice that the king of Evil cares for you. And you ask why you should care about others?" Staren points whatever way those of them that are moving are going. "Go. Those of us from the Multiverse will demonstrate our intentions through our actions in time."
Majima Goro The Mad Dog of Shimano has been fighting on the streets for many years. There's a certain formula to when you're fighting some punk kid who's got a sword. He's not even going to ready his bat until the last moment. The process works as follows.
First, as they rush at you, you slam the baseball bat into their stomach. While they're winded, place the baseball bat between the teeth of stupid punk, and while they're panicking, kick the bat upwards, ruining all of their teeth in one go.
And he prepares, mentally, for the time honored reflex, and then--
And then the kid just disappears. He can't do any of that. "...Wait, the f-" And then there's the kid, right at his side, with the sword. The cut hits true, and Majima's arms are still over his head. He can't even begin to block it in time, his good eye just widening.
He staggers for a second. And then...the expression of pain turns different. Pure glee. "...THIS! I NEEDED THIS!" He cries out loudly, taking the bat and moving to just immediately crack the kid right upside the head. He doesn't know what's going on. But it's what he was hoping for. That strange yellow fire just bursts right up again. He's hyped.
Riku When Riku gets to the end of the tunnels, he peeks out and sees basically what he expected. Except fo the possessed cars. That's new. Riku pulls in and gestures. "Wait here. I'll tell you when it's clear."

A moment later, Riku pulls off the labcoat, tossing it aside, and closes his eyes, drawing upon his own darkness.

The purple battle suit forms over his body, displaying him to be something other than just a normal kid... And then a black hole opens next to him, and he vanishes into it.

He pops out of another hole that opens up over the first Hylian, dropping down and slamming into his back before his Eidolon smeshes upwards, hitting the other with a haymaker uppercut. Riku kicks the guy he's standing on in the head to make sure he's knocked out, and turns to the strange-looking vehicles.

He frowns, and clenches a fist. The Eidolon slams forward, bringing down punishing impacts on the two vehicles untile they're wrecked. Riku is taking no chances.

Once that's done, unless something shows up to stop him he turns adnd calls to the doctors: "Okay, we're clear. Let's get you all to safety."
Raziel The bastard /was/ just like Kain.  The power of teleportation was not one that Raziel was 'blessed' with, that was not his power, instead, he turns his head keeping his wits calm even despite the surprising reveal.  His eyes narrow, as he gives the 'King of Darkness' a narrow gaze.

'It appears that this 'Ganondorf' too had the power of teleportation.  He claims it is something given to him by the gods, but at the same time I felt as if this at the end was a show and dance...still, Riku needed time to get the doctors to safety...and the peasants could not be allowed to go with the knowledge that things taken with violence are taken for free.'

As Ganon moves, Raziel does not simply stand still, he leaps from where he was, moving to the other side of the line of cops and stands in the middle of the street towards the Warp gate.  His right hand comes down, flaring to life the Soul Reaver, the flaming sword spiraling as it seemed to mimic that of a real blade.

"You have failed to answer one of my questions.  Will you carry them here every time?  Will you babysit them whenever they need something?  You address a symptom, not the problem," Raziel continues, "But more than that you instill in them that it will continue forever, that taking will have no consequences."

"That will not be allowed to continue.  My offer stands, you may surrender the medicine, you will be allowed to be seen and then escorted back, while I speak to your leadership about a more solid solution..." Raziel says, firmly, "Or I will slay anyone..." he says, dragging the sword into the ground in a mighty line, "Who crosses this line."
Reina Kinney While there's a lot of talking going on, and a fight happening as well, Reina isn't sure entirely what to do. She tends to think on her feet a lot of the time, but in this case she's a bit torn on what to do. "Guess I'll just keep a neutral spot here," Reina says, but that's not all she does. The red-head narrows her eyes and darts them from side-to-side a few times as if something's going on that nobody knows about but Reina herself.

After a moment of this narrow-eyed glancing, Reina snaps her fingers on both hands, and her energy pistols appear in her hands. She doesn't open fire just yet, but rather is arming herself in the event that things get a little more out of hand.
Touta Konoe      "You need to back off already!" Touta's strike lands a good blow, it was a good thing he hadn't decided to use the blade itself or he might have just ended up gutting this guy. Though instead of being thankful of not being gutted, he's more happy that Touta's hit him. Oh no, he's a musclehead... That's the first thing that comes to mind.

From here Goro brings up his bat to counter, and with that excitement he's got some sort of aura or something flaring around him. He's not sure what the hell it's suppose to be but it's definitely a good sign that this guy's really intending to bust his skull open.

So Touta tries getting out of the way of the bat so it doesn't turn his brain to mush, and while he avoids the direct hit, the bat does slam into his shoulder and a snapping sound can be heard to Goro's delight.

Of course that's not deterring Touta just yet, even if he might be down an arm. Though since they really are up close and personal now Touta decides that instead of using his sword, he'll try to get in even closer to try and make it tougher for this guy to use his bat. So the moment he pulls out from that overhead swing, he goes flying into Goro's chest with a flying knee!
Staren     Raziel contradicts Staren. So much for the quickest way to prevent deaths while leaving options open... Staren explains this over the radio. He's about to step out and leave Raziel to fight, but then he has a better idea.

His armor makes the air horn noise again. "Whether you stay or go, you do not need this healing house's medicine. I will provide better, if you let me."
Link Ganondorf says he'll repay Link. Link says nothing. He turns to Raziel. He tries to respond. He's not very good at this. "It'll be different once the war is averted."

And then Raziel threatens to slay the Hylians. Link's eyes full of determination. It's time to do Stupid Hero Shit.

Link crosses the line. If Raziel strikes, the sword is drawn in a defensive position. Whether or not Raziel strikes, Link speaks up. "I will not allow you to take a single life...!"

The sword swings. It's graceful, the swing of a virtuoso. It moves to slice into Raziel's side, trying to cut into him and force him back. While Link does so, he's hoping the Hylians will try to start escaping, and that he can keep Raziel off them.
Majima Goro There's a cackling, almost screeching laughter from Majima as the bat hits home. "COME ON, TOUTA-CHAN!" The ex-yakuza's smile only gets wider as the vampire doesn't back off.
This time, though, he'd better look like less of a putz. The bat comes around, and he manages to shift just enough for the knee to nail him in the shoulder, instead of directly in the chest.
Is he getting slow? This guy's trying to stay too close for the bat.
Oh. This poor bastard thinks he's only good with a bat. The bat is pulled behind his back, and Majima's grin only grows more sadistic. That yellow flare pulses once more...before it turns ...pink? Yeah. That is definitely pink fire now.
"WA HA!" He yells, leaping backwards onto his hands...before suddenly twisting his legs, swinging around like a martial arts tornado as he literally hand walks towards the pacifist at the same time.
Ganondorf Dragmire      The two Hylians are no match for Riku, but as he comes down on one of the vehicles, it backs up into him of its own free will. The other one whirls around, almost supernaturally fast. What follows is a brief, brutal confrontation between the Eidolon and the vehicles; the vehicles don't win out. They're left smoking and smoldering, oozing purple...evil. Malice. Maliciousness. Not a real problem for him, though. Probably minor trouble-solving devices rather than real dangers. Riku's ability to smash them far outweighs any investment the Great King of Evil put into the machines. Still, that dripping evil does sort of lend some credence to that title.

That's not any magic Riku's ever seen, and it is...*dangerous*, to say the least. It certainly puts the hylian hicks' fear into perspective, too.

Staren tries, bless his heart. He really does. But these people aren't interested in the promises of strangers. The Gerudo King may be a thief, but he's *their* thief - a thief from *their* lands who knows *their* troubles. Staren is a man promising magic solutions while they have very real medicine in hand.

Raziel gets his answer. Ganondorf keeps walking. Link engages Raziel, and Ganondorf smiles behind his mask. It's not a nice smile. It's the smile of a man watching the Hero destined to slay him fight a ghost on his behalf, and knowing that the people will spread this tale. That the Hero of Courage is on their side. That the Gerudo King is on their side. That the two worked together.

The loss of the doctors - already, he can tell, even before the strange flame says "Hey! Listen! The cars-". He holds up a hand to silence it.

     "I know."

And then with a wave of his hand, the shadows underneath the cars upend them, smashing upwards with enormous force. Massive dark claws. The claws of a demon.

Then they're gone, and the police are moving away, and while Raziel fights Link, the people start running past the Great King of Evil, a human flood trying to leave while the monster is held.
Raziel Raziel goes flying from the blow, hitting the ground and skidding along the way.  He finally comes to a stop, his sword digging into the ground to grant him balance as he looks up right towards Link.  He eyes the boy, before coming to his feet...

'Of course, I expected the people to observe their hero defend them...of course, I was disappointed by the fact they chose to save their own wretched lives instead of supporting the person fighting for them.  With a heavy sigh, I knew that the point of this was defeated...and while Ganondorf's plan was foiled, he gained something more in this exchange that he had planned on.'

With a release of his will, Raziel abandoned his physical body, shifting into the immaterial realm, and simply turned to leave.  There was not counter-attack, no more words.  There was little more to be gained, and much left to lose should he decided to push this combat.
Touta Konoe "Stop calming me that, you weirdo!"

Knees go for shoulders instead of chests, and Goro's follow up is to try and create more distance as Touta closes in and the aura shifts again to a pink. He goes into a handstand as he legs spin into a tornado kick. The kicks knock Touta back with enough force he's going back a few feet, but he still looks like he's ready to fight. Except...He's not, It might be hard for Goro to see while he's spinning, in fact maybe that's the reason he's doing it, but Touta's focus is going back to the Hyrulians and what's going on back with the others and...He doesn't like what he's seeing. Especially when people start to doubt Staren and lean towards their chivalrous thief Ganondorf. If that's the case that medicines gonna be gone and if that's the case there's only one thing he can do...

"OIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!" The young man shouts with such vitality it's as if he's trying to imitate the booming voice of their King. He doesn't know if he'll be able to garner their attention but he'll start talking up anyway as Goro's tornado kicks start coming back at him. So he's gotta try to buffer the storm at the same time as speak!

"Don't just take the medicine! I promise that we'll get you guys help! But- Ah! You think your families are gonna be happy hearing you guys took medicine from people who needed it?! Give us time and I promise we won't let you..."

Touta continues to buffer the onslaught of kicks until suddenly, the boy lowers his stance below where Goro's feet can hit him, and in a single motion goes for a sweeping hook kick of his own to knock Goro...."Down!"

These people have every reason to not trust strangers. But at the very least they should know that right now, there is someone fighting for them. And that person is a stranging. And even as he's fighting he's asking for them not to give into temptation because it's easy. At the very least this kid wants to show he intends to help them, whether it's keeping this guy from beating them up, to trying to help with their world's problems.
Ganondorf Dragmire      Raziel retreats.

Ganondorf seizes the opportunity. He thanks Link over his own radio, which he's had, but not had on - largely because he doesn't do the whole talking thing unless it's necessary. As the people of Hyrule stream out, away from Majima and Touta, away from the scary ghost man and the flying tin can, Ganondorf reaches out. The gold Triforce gleams on the back of his hand, and the world's threads come into his fingers. He squeezes. The universe seems to crumple in his wake.

     Whoosh.

The whole mass of Hylians surges forward. It's as if they've gone into lightspeed, a blur of activity. They're just...*gone*, through the warpgate, save for the ones Riku KO'd. They're ripe for interrogation.
Riku Riku watches the smouldering vehicles and how they move on their own. What he should have expected but didn't quite expect was for them to move on their own. He assumed the Hylians were drivers, but that would have been stupid too. Hyrule doesn't /have cars/.

Therefore, when they're crushed, Riku watches them carefully. The doctors are free and able to get the hell out of there. Riku points them out of the garage and towards where the police are waiting. "Go. Be safe." He tells them... And the claws upend the vehicles. Huh. That kind of thing looks familiar...

But then someone whispers in his ear. He tilts his head, frowning for a moment, having something of a conversation... And he rolls his eyes, and says something else with a sigh.

A moment later, there is a surge of power rushing through him. Riku grunts, barely able to keep himself from yelling as energies roll through his body, augmenting his Heartbrand powers even further. It's heady, it's intense.

It's a kind of rush he's felt before, which might be what keeps him from just diving into the power thrill.

Instead, he walks out of the garage himself, crackling sparks of crimson rolling over his body as he stalks towards the remaining Concord member who isn't occupied: Staren.

"You're not needed here anymore." Riku says, and points. "Leave."
Majima Goro Majima is clearly getting old.
Back in the eighties, some punk trying to sweep kick him wouldn't have done a damn thing. He'd have just danced right around that leg like it was nothing, laughed, and then thrown him into a pile of people. That didn't happen.
This time, this idiot punk just swept him off his feet and he ended up flung off and rolling away.
He brushes some blood off his lips with his black glove. "...so that's how ya want it."
He slowly stands up. This kid is ignoring him. Talkin' to those frickin' elves. Nah. He's not gonna put up with this. This kid needs to learn some respect. Needs to respect his damn elders. That fire hasn't gone away.

It's just blue now. His eye scans the area, before he finds something glinting. It's a stethoscope. But right now, it's his black, rubbery stethoscope of hope. He rolls over towards it, plucking it off the ground, before rushing towards Touta...
[HEAT ACTION]
Majima takes the stethoscope, swinging the round part of it around like a nunchaku to get in what hits he can, before settling to attempt to swing it around Touta's neck, grab it by both ends, and then deliver a fierce, fierce headbutt.
Staren     Staren doesn't interrupt the hylians. He already decided fighting them wasn't worth it.

He turns towards the hospital. He has work to do...

You're not needed here anymore. Leave.

Staren stops, and glances at Riku with the expression of someone trying to get work done who's just been asked a question by an annoying child. "Seriously? /I'm/ the one you're pissed off at? There may be people in that hospital dying. I'm going to stabilize them until new medicine can be brought, and if they've passed beyond the hospital's ability to save /I/ will save them."

He turns towards the hospital, hesitates, then turns back to Riku and folds his arms across his chest, tilts his head, looks like he's about to snark, then... sighs and drops his arms to his side. "Thank you for saving the doctors. But there's still more work to be done. Let's help people, shall we?" He smiles and holds out a hand.
Touta Konoe      Touta's too late. Both to stop the people from leaving, and to avoid Goro's attack. The stethoscope becomes a impromptu weapon and the result is...An eye. Goro gets an eyeball to go flying from the boy's socket. With only one eye to work with the boy's vision gets hindered immensely, as such that Goro finds himself able to get in on his literal blind spot with the stethoscope to start choking him out and then for dessert, break his nose with that headbutt!

What a monster Goro is to violently brutalize a child like this. With no words it's probably safe to assume he's just killed this kid. Or at the very least, made him go from trying to save this hospital to needing to be saved by this hospital.

"Ahh...They're gone..." He coughs up a statement, but of course he's talking about the Hyrulians. The thing is, the Warpgate they left from is behin him. He can't see that they're leaving...And that's when Goro will realize something. This kid is definitely no street punk. He may not even be a punk...

The broken noise begins to fix up immediately. That eyeball that he knocked at...That had been staring at the Warpgate flies off the ground and back into the Touta's eye socket. Most people don't get to see the process so up close and personal but this kid was literally healing wounds right in front of the guys face, and as he continued speaking he'd see teeth, no fangs, slowly showing themselves as the boy's face gets more and more agitated.

"Sorry guy, but now that there gone...This fight's over!"

While Touta's getting choked out his arms are free. The arm with the buster shoulder takes up his sword once more and swings it into the man's side as he shouts once more.

     "2000 FOLD!!!"

The blade if it made contact wouldn't feel like a sword. It'd feel more like being hit with a truck that had been jammed into the shape of a sword, and it would likely not be a pleasant ride...
Majima Goro Majima looks gleeful right up until the headbutt finishes and he drops Touta with the headbutt. He slackens his grip a little. And then...he notices something.
"...What the everloving f--"
He looks genuinely horrified. That eye just left that socket. Uh. That doesn't happen.
He looks down at the blood on his gloves. Nah. Nah, he didn't kill that kid. He doesn't kill kids. Sure, you bust 'em up a little, but he--
"W...w--someone help this--I didn'--" And then, uh.

There's a very, very valid reason why seeing Cthulhu regenerate himself drove a man mad. Majima's never read that book, but he's feeling particularly similar, as that eyeball flies back into his socket.
"What in the fu--" And then Touta's up. His brows are up. The momentary flash of guilt is gone, but he looks genuinely, honest to goodness horrified. "...what? Is this some zombie sh--"
And then that sword---
It's not that Majima doesn't try to dodge, it's just he's really not on his game right now. It's a new world, and frankly, he's never canonically even fought a zombie.
The sword sends him sprawling. He bashes on the ground, multiple times, like a ragdoll, finally landing...in a kneeling position.
What, really? His hand's firmly over his stomach, and he pants. And...he laughs.
"This...this is ridiculous. This is absolutely ridiculous! I love it! Kid...kid we gotta do this again sometime. ...but..y'know, I'm spent for now. Blood's pumpin, but..." He shakes his head.
"...'s regeneratin' what the teenagers are doin these days?"
Riku Riku's expression simply gets more and more irritated as Staren snarks back at him. "Yes, because everyone needs you. You're always the one who has to save everyone. No one else is capable of doing it while you stand here and say pretty words."

There is a sigh as Staren holds out his hand, however. There is a moment of silence as he stares down at that hand. Riku unfolds his arms...

And then the shadow leaks up over his arm, covering it with the massive, muscular form of the Eidolon's limb, making it looks outsized as in a smooth motion, he draws it back and then slams his hand forward in a piston-punch straight for Staren's jaw.

Sure, Staren has defense fields and crap, but the impact is something akin to being hit by a Mack truck.

"For pretending to be so smart, you sure are bad at listening." Riku says offhandedly.
Staren     Staren goes flying, then hits the pavement and skids along. He slowly stands up. "Whether by my hand or someone else's, these people WILL be saved. I won't let you stop that." For now, he beams up. Time spent fighting is just time spent using resources and NOT healing people.

Staren waits a few minutes before robots come through the warpgate with high-tech medicine. If Riku starts fighting those too, he'll have to re-engage.
