S6     The coastline north of Indus has seen better days. At one point this was an extension of the city of Old Indus, but it appears that the bedrock has failed. The skyscrapers here are in the process of sinking, ever-so-slowly, into the sea. There's some presence of the dense forest and desert lands encroaching on Indus, but in large part what exists here is a complex mire of seawater and ruins. Some buildings have already collapsed. There are sections of raised highway that have not yet surrendered. But overall, it seems this portion of the once-sprawling megalopolis might be irrecoverable.

Striker Six, Model 18A, sends up the rendesvous beacon and then...waits. Arms lift, folding gently, betraying a sense of urgency that's otherwise hidden by the opaque black visor covering her eyes.

In an environment like this, a Null Zone is unlikely to be as obvious as it was in the forest, but the discolored water, darkened sand, and crumbling structural facade are the telltale signs. The Null Zone always wears down its environment faster than normal... and this one appears to be focused entirely on this one, sinking structure. A complex, perhaps a research institute or a school of some stripe, by its exterior.

"Our objective is to investigate the coastline null zone NZ48 and eliminate whatever is interfering with android operations. Secondary objective is to recover the androids missing, if possible. Even deactivated units are preferable to none at all."
Cordelay Levail Cordelay arrives on the scene with little fanfare, taking in the scenery with curious eyes before spotting S6 and approaching her, giving a formal half-bow. "I am Cordelay Levail, daughter of Sartaire the Dragon. I've come to assist in your recovery mission."

Her sapphire eyes sparkle with excitement as she adds, "And hopefully test my skills against whatever is causing the problems in the first place."
Reiji Arisu Indus has been something of a project for Reiji Arisu. The fact that its very foundations are coming undone, apparently as a result of some kind of apocalyptic subterrannean world-siphon, is of obvious interest to someone who plies his trade in the geomantic arts.

He had initially intended to see about trying to shut this particular Null Zone off, but... Looking at it now, that seems as if it might be a bit of an ask. Setting up a geomantic array underwater is bound to be rather difficult, but it might still be worth a shot.

The exorcist arrives on-foot, leaping deftly from ruined structure to ruined structure until finally scaling up to the rendevous beacon with one final jump. "S6," he says with a nod. "Do you have any intelligence at all about what we might be dealing with?"
Ishirou In the city, on one of the roofs, I4 was trying to hack into an old-world antenna to try and get it working again.  This could be used for getting better coverage in the area, and boost overall efficiency.  This was a solo job, and luckily no Nulls in his area were beyond what he could take care of.

Right before the finishing touches, a call comes in.  "Incoming call from Operator I21," says the female sounding black box hovering hear him, already displaying the call from its small antenna.  I4's head turns towards the screen.  "Yeah?"

"You are being ordered to the Coast, to back up Unit S6.  I16 has gone missing," Says the no-nonsense data hogger.  I4 turns his head back to his work, "Yeah yeah...i'll get there right after this.  I'm almost done," the android says in return to the other voice.  There is a pause and then...

"One affirmative will suffice, unit I4.  Also, this is an overriding mission," She snaps back, and then I4 sighs.  "Man, If I leave this now I'll have to redo all of this when I come back.  Come one, I can't get /five/ more minutes?"

Several moments of time plus five minutes later.

I4 shows up, pushing past a bush and stumbling over towards S6.  "Alright, sorry about the delay.  I'll get right onto keeping an eye out on our area.  POD, wide-area scan connection." Says the Android, with his own black visor over his eyes.

"Yeah, the intelligence is that it's powerful enough to take our four androids.  So probably dangerous...or theoretically probability manipulation...though I can't say for sure until we see it!  It's probably just really dangerous."
Kotone Yamakawa The coast Line of Indus? She was quite of the mind it had seen better days, it hauntingly reminded her of the old Tokyo ruins on her own homeworld. She would arrive a few moments after Reiji did. She kept pace with him leaping and bounding along even dashing in the air as she goes.

"Well this is quite the place I'm sending up some drones now."

Kotone would let the drones lose to fly ahead and scout about as she bounds along. The small little cameras with flight systems would take off and fan out from the party as they go.
S6     S6's POD chimes in greeting to I4's, remaining otherwise silent. The android herself shifts, glancing over Cordelay as she approaches. The dragon lady is greeted with a slight nod before S6 turns moreso to face Reiji, "My initial recon was inconclusive. My scanners are not penetrating the walls."

I4 initiates an area scan, and S6's pod chirps, extending its scanner antenna to contribute to the effort.

"I have not identified any advanced Nullborn presence. Given the perceived threat level, I felt backup was prudent before proceeding." She turns back to the institute, a pair of curved swords flickering in behind her in a flurry of golden sparks. Stepping up, she launches herself from the platform-- the roof of a sunken building-- and into the target building through a missing window.
Cordelay Levail A grin spreads across Cordelay's lips as she follows the android, acrobatically leaping toward the target building and latching onto the windowsill where S6 passed through before flipping through the gaps. Her twin swords are out before she lands, quickly surveying the area for whatever potential threat could be lurking. "I've never seen a place quite like this before. What kind of disaster could cause so much land to simply... sink like this, I wonder?"
Reiji Arisu "Or maybe the entire building is a Nullborn in disguise," Reiji suggests, a recent and unforuntate memory bringing the possibility to the forefront of his mind. "I'll go ahead and take the perimeter, start laying the foundations for the ritual. Yell if you need support and I'll head in as soon as I can."

Reiji leaps again into the distance, this time finding footholds at the crumbling facade of the structure's outer walls. He needs to get closer to where it meets the water, close enough to begin dropping preternaturally round rocks down into the depths of the sea and to have some degree of certainty that they'll land where they need to land.

He'll need to make a full circuit of the null zone to do it, but if this works... Well, it'll be quite the breakthrough, wouldn't it?
Ishirou I4's pod returns the greeting, though it's probably beyond human perception.  Machines can talk very fast, and share data much more efficiently in this way.  The Android himself is already looking ahead, trying to map out the area...but the map doesn't seem to work as intended, causing him to grunt in annoyance.

"I can't seem to piece this building very well.  POD, what options do we have that could be causing the interference?" he asks his POD, before looking a bit more bright-eyed a bit later.  "Mana battery signals detected.  Exactly four, three stationary, and one moving," Confirming their signals in the building as he leaps off, landing next to the group.

"The Null did, lady.  They're a bunch of stupid monsters who just eat mana, as most of the people of this world rely on magic...well you can probably put two and two together," he quips, before turning to Reiji.  "Nah...I'd be getting weirder readings that what I am getting.  Something else is going on, but I can't figure out what quite yet.."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa keeps on moving the thoughts of what they might run into this time, she has no idea and keeps her eyes open for it. She looks to S6 for a moment.

"That's troubling with the Nullborn if they found a way to mask themselves somehow."

She bounds along further and looks to I4.

"How fast do they adapt to counter tactics on average?"

Kotone is still keeping an eye on her drones feeds but nothing so far.
S6     "This region has a history of geological instability," S6 states to follow up I4's comment, "When the Nullborn invasion began, and the people of Indus abandoned this district, there was no one left to maintain or repair it." Pausing, she places a gloved hand on one of the walls, glancing towards where it meets the ceiling, amidst a spiderweb of cracks, "Much like the desert and the forest-- with the people driven out, the sea is also encroaching."

Lifting that hand, she touches her chin, "...It is a secondary objective, but we should recover the androids while we know their locations." A slight nod, "Yes. The primary objective may reveal itself in the process." Glancing back, she gestures, "Yamakawa, Levail, locate the stationary androids. I4 and myself will investigate the one who is still active." She'll rely on I4 to provide the details of those positions, since he's the one with that data.

Thankfully Reiji's work is uninterrupted. Without the presence of others, he has plenty of opportunity to take in the surroundings. The melancholy beauty of a collapsing civilization, being reclaimed by nature. Waves lapping at the sides of sinking buildings. Moss and vines adorning the sides of structures outside of the Null Zone border. A flock of birds, disturbed by his presence, take off from their gathering area just along the edge.
Cordelay Levail "At once. Stay safe, both of you." Cordelay nods and looks to Kotone. "Let's go, Mistress Yamakawa." With that said she sets off on the search, fully alert and ready for combat at any given moment. Battlefield conditions are nothing new to her, but a search for missing people in crumbling ruins is outside her area of expertise. Still, no reason to let her allies down by not giving the task her utmost dedication.
Ishirou With a swipe of his hand, a holographic keyboard and screens started to appear, projected by the POD in question.  His fingers move abnormally fast as he starts bringing up a projected floorplan of the building.  The data is not COMPLETE and obviously gets fuzzy the deeper in the building you go.

Finally, the locations of the androids are overlayed.  The three inactive Androids are located on the third floor, back in the fuzzy area.  The moving android was located up on a higher floor, the sixth or so.

"The building appears to be lined with a material that blocks magical signals.  Hypothesis: You will not be able to get an accurate scan of anything inside once you are inside.  Communications may be hampered or disrupted while inside.  Abilities should not be necessarily disrupted."

"This is a pain in the ass," I4 says, with a shake of his head, and slides the stuff closed but keeping the map up.  "Alright, S6." he says, giving everyone a general direction of 'where to go'.  He rushes off after S6, because of course, he does.  She's a better fighter!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "When people pack up and leave? Nature is there waiting to take things back."

She notes to S6 and keeps moving along as they go she will pause to look out over the ruins.

"Kinda pretty in a sad way...."

She notes and she's left thinking as she goes along. Nature always did seek to wipe away all traces of anyone with a mind ever having been there. She gets her orders and she'll pause and start scanning directly for the androids who are no longer moving. Those ones are likely in need of help as either they are dead or in some kind of stasis lock.

"Understood Miss Levail."

She notes in turn from the looks of Miss Levail? She seems to be able to handle herself if something picks a fight with them both. An odd thought for Kotone given her own origins as being honestly the weakest link for the longest time.
Reiji Arisu There's something... serene about this decay. The sight of a world slowly reclaiming what man once built. Birds flutter and scatter, disturbed by his unexpected arrival. A flurry of wingbeats take off into the distant horizon. Reiji watches them go, before setting another of the stones at his feet.

The sight was... paradoxical. The fact that nature is still so /strong/ here. Still holding on, thriving, even. Why did it seem as though the ones truly suffering were just the humans of this world?

Perhaps he'll find answers here soon enough.

His work, uninterrupted, was able to proceed apace. The last stone is placed, and Reiji soon makes his way back to where he first started. "Everyone," he says, calling into his communicator. "I'm set to begin once you've all acquired the packages. The last time I tried anything of this sort, one of those beasts made a bee-line for my location. Keep an eye out. Even my preliminary preparations might have disturb something inside."

'Preliminary preparations' which begin as Reiji starts to chant, the five stones placed at the sea floor thrumm with power as one links to the next in the series. Where is that 'drain...?' He'll need to locate it if he's to do anything about sealing it...
S6     "I4," S6 announces, part-warning and part-alert. Her swords swing off of her back in arcs, carving into the metal doors of an elevator. These swivel in a clockwise motion, carving an opening into the elevator shaft. The car is long gone, but that's no hinderance. S6 merely leaps through, strikes the opposing wall, corrects, and springs off onto the service ladder. Ascending is a simple matter from there. At the sixth floor, she carves the doors open and tumbles through into a less dilapidated hallway, weapons held ready.

Kotone and Cordelay locate stairs. The upward-leading staircase has collapsed, though the downward-leading staircase is intact. Going down to the third story is about as far as one can go though-- the route down further is flooded with inky black water and heavy concrete wreckage. Bypassing the door here is a simple matter, and this floor is rather poorly lit in comparison, as most of the overheads are actually destroyed on this level.

Both levels, despite being so far apart, consist of similar layouts. Offices. Desks. Destroyed furniture. A central work area that used to be surrounded by glass, but that's all long-since been broken. The computers appear to be destroyed, fried or corroded beyond use, but there are some scattered mechanical components.

In the upper level, S6 rises to her feet, eyes locked on a figure at the far end of the hallway. The uniform and design are distinctive, though the woman seems rather disheveled and inattentive.

In the lower level, tucked behind a pair of hastily maneuvered desks, are unresponsive androids-- Two male and one female, basically unconscious but apparently undamaged. Laid out or slouched against something, like they'd just passed out.
Ishirou "Right," I4 says staying back and out of the range of S6's attacks on the door.  He waits, and then when she is on the ladder, he joins her.  Climbing up as he keeps his head focused on the wall in front of him instead of looking up.

He stops at the door and lets S6 go in first.  She's a striker, so it makes sense to hold back and wait.  When weapons don't immediately fire, he jumps up after her.  Once he lands, he looks up towards the figure ahead of them.  He looks towards S6 for a moment, and then to the Android.

"Let me try and scan them first..." he says, quietly, to her.  The POD's antenna comes up again, attempting to properly scan and diagnose the Android from here, without getting closer.  Something was off about them.
Cordelay Levail Cordelay's eyes light up as she spots the three unresponsive androids on the third floor. "I16, I21 and S39 have been located. Should we bring them anywhere specific? All three appear undamaged, but I don't know how stable this area is."

Switching her focus from her communicator to Kotone, she waves her over and asks, "Would you mind carrying two of them? As confident as I am in my strength, I doubt I can hold a candle to your mechanical body." Cordelay hefts I16 onto her back, reluctantly sheathing her swords to maintain a better grip. "Hopefully we don't get ambushed before I can arm myself again..."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa pauses as Cordelay finds several of the missing Androids. She will turn about from the stairs she was checking out.

<<Sure thing, on my way.>>

So far she's seeming to be pleased working with Cordelay. She will make her way down to Cordelay. She takes a moment to heft up I21 over one shoulder and then will move to get S39 over the other. She's careful not to do further damage and she'll move to follow the others back.

"Me too even my built-in weapons like this? Would harm both of the people I'm carrying."

With that she'll start to move out to deliver the two Androids.
Reiji Arisu Reiji's chanting grows more intense with each passing moment. His awareness reaches deeper into the churning waters. Deeper into the decaying earth. "O' will of the world, o' providence of nature, ye who manifest in the truths of the five elements, ye who dictate the passing of the four seasons, ye in whom manifest the power of the three pure ones. Ye who beget the two forces! Ye who are the single Supreme Ultimate! Who descends from the primordial chaos beyond the beginning and end of all things! O' world in which 'I' dwell, o' universe who observes itself! Hear me! I Am One With All Creation!"

The thrum that had been radiating from those five stones suddenly intensifies. The vibration carries faster than the speed of sound, propagating as rippling shockwaves through the brine. Each stone resonates with the next, as each stone likewise begins glowing in the hues of the five Eastern elements. Reiji focuses his will and the world responds. Upon the sea floor, a massive blue mandala suddenly manifests. Glowing lines of sacred geometry surge with power and blaze with azure light even in the dark depths of the sea. Reiji quiets his thoughts, hones his mind, and begins weaving a seal deep within the earth. A veritable 'plug' to arrest the flow of energy from the surrounding world into the drain deep underground. But that's not all, that wouldn't be anywhere near sufficient. He has to ensure that the flow of energy is properly restored, that the void deep below is thoroughly starved. Layer upon layer of geomantic magic is weaved, each one supporting the flow of ley above while negating the flow below.

He needs his full concentration for this, but--

Well. That's what friends are for, isn't it?
S6     The figurative sinkhole into which the land's mana pours is easily located in the lattice produced by Reiji's anchor stones. Geomatic circles paint across the tortured land, casting a light bright enough to shine through the institute's broken windows even from underwater.
It's not the scan but the voice that the distant android R12 responds to, slowly dipping her head forward, then twisting it towards the other two androids suddenly accompanying her. Per the scan, the internal components all seem to be in order. However, none of the internal components that are meant to move are...actually moving. Parts try to move as I4's analysis carries on and the android turns to face the pair, but seem to be obstructed. Her approach is staggered, unsteady, and slow.

When the geomantic circle of Reiji's spell begins to form across the Null Zone, that approach ceases. Seemingly pained, R12 raises her hands to her head, lips moving but no sound escaping at first. Unsteadily, the android hunches forward, shuddering. And what she mutters grows loud enough to be audible.

"Make it stop... make it stop... make it stop..."

    Growing steadily louder.

R12, the upright android on the 6th floor, convulses suddenly. Her muttering has become a rapid-fire chant, the same three words. The light from the geomancy outside grows brighter, and the android jerks again, losing her footing and collapsing. Something cracks. The mana battery I4 has been tracking suddenly registers damage and goes offline-- followed by a black sludgey slug erupting from R12's body. Covered in electronics and the glowing blue liquid contents of a mana battery, it is undeniably a Nullborn. Snake-like, it whips its arm-length body around to face the two androids, showing a perfectly circular mouth lined with teeth.

Immediately, S6's swords are raised at the ready, her posture aggressive, but she can't seem to do more than that. The visor conceals her eyes, but not the way she clenches her jaw.

The three androids Kotone and Cordelay carry between them shudder at exactly the same instant. Regaining consciousness? But the muttering begins in ernest. In perfect sync.

"Make it stop... make it stop... make it stop..."
Cordelay Levail The light from Reiji's circle burns Cordelay's eyes as she makes her way toward the rendezvous point, but it's the sudden shifting and muttering from her and Kotone's charges that rings warning bells in her mind. "Just to inform you all, the three unresponsive androids Mistress Yamakawa and I recovered appear to have regained consciousness. They're acting strange, though, just repeating 'make it stop' over and over again... What do you mean they're infested?!"

She lowers I16 to the floor and steps back, drawing her swords again and keeping her narrowed eyes focused on the android. "Mistress Yamakawa, prepare for battle!"
Ishirou "Something's very wrong.." I4 says, as his frown deepens.  "Be ready S6..." he says, on edge.  Until the ritual goes off, the explosion of what could be considered gore for Androids bursts out, as the Nullborn is exposed.

It was horrifying, and...it made I4 very angry.

A line of data shoots out from his hand, towards the thing.  However, this was an electric connection, not a biological one.  He aims for the battery.  Alright, it wanted to eat those batteries, eh?  Well...it can have all of the energy it wants.

At once.

I4 attempts to force the battery to overload, aiming to detonate it from the inside of the worm.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa feels a crawling sense of horror, she has some experience with infestation type beings. This is hitting those memories she does not skip a beat she'll set the two android's she's carrying the moment the warning goes out. She calls to Cordelay to do the same as she moves the hell away from the bodies as fast as she can. Given these nullborn infested the androids? There's a possibility she could end up infested and that scares the hell out of the cyborg.

She's heeding her partner's warning as she moves to pull out her matter manipulator a summon an assault rifle out of its storage unit.

"Right!"
Reiji Arisu The only information Reiji has on the goings-on within the building comes from the panicked voices in his communicator. And yet, he cannot allow himself to be distracted. Not at this juncture. He needs to focus, and focus he does.

Because if nothing else, the chanting he hears on the far side of the radio tells him everything he needs to know about how absolutely critical it is that he finish this work.

So he focuses further. Each layer is reinforced. An eightfold seal repeated eightfold times. The land, tortured as it is, must be allowed a respite. It must be allowed to heal. This hole punched into the fabric of the world must needs be mended.

And if it distresses a handful of squirming android-parasites, then all the better...!
S6     The eel-like Nullborn on the 6th floor coils itself, baring that impossible rack of fangs at S6 and I4. The faint blue glow from the hole in R12 where it had emerged from quite suddenly turns an angry red, following the hacked command made by I4. Safeties are overridden in an instant. Quite suddenly, the fallen android's body explodes with the force of a hand grenade.

S6 raises her arm, shielding her face. When she lowers it, she stares hesitantly at the carnage. At R12 messily bisected, at the oily black sludge of the Nullborn leaking out amidst the red-tinted fluids native to androids. She quickly scans for any sign of the attacker. Finding none, she quickly turns her back on the scene, letting out an unsteady breath.

The trio of androids are discarded by Kotone and Cordelay, muttering all the while. One of them even jerks, twists, and then rises to his feet. It's S39. When one of the Inspectors starts to stirr, he plants a foot on them, while shakily reaching into his own uniform. When he pulls his hand free, he holds the unmistakable silhouette of a grenade.

Something cracks. A spray of crimson shoots from his side, accompanying a black worm-like protrusion. S39 staggers, releasing the handle of the explosive, then collapsing lifelessly.

Another of the worm-like Nullborn curls into view, flashing its fangs towards the retreating cyborg and dragoness.

With the nest of Nullborn agitated but already engaged inside the building, Reiji has nothing to disturb his work. The seal is placed. Reinforced. The leylines reconnected to their proper points, as one might repair an electrical grid. The telltale murk of the Null Zone begins to fade from the waters and the land.

And then, at least in a metaphysical sense, something slams into the barrier. From the other side. The World's side. Not enough to strain it. There doesn't seem to be any intent to damage the seal. It seems more like whatever it is, might just be trying to let the geomancer know it's there.

No words. No identity. No shape or color. Merely a...sensation. disjointed feeling of

              why now...
    too much...
        too little...
              try...
         tire...
Cordelay Levail Cordelay grits her teeth as the Nullborn emerges, snarling, "Repulsive creature." Despite the situation and her own words, however, there's a smile on her face - the expression of someone raised for war hoping for an intense battle. She rushes headlong toward the monstrosity, heedless of its razor teeth, and vaults over it as she approaches. Gripping both her swords by the chains linked to their pommels, she swings them like edged flails toward the Nullborn as she sails over it and hopefully out of reach.
Ishirou I4 nearly collapses from that effort, he just...killed another android.  Intellectually, he knew that she was likely already dead.  Or if not, in a horrible state that may never be recoverable.  It was also the fastest way to kill the thing before it got one of them, assuming that they were combat capable Androids themselves...would S6 been enough?

Emotionally, he just potentially put someone out of their misery and protected them, but it was still a messy business.  His head lowers for a moment.  S6 goes to move on, but he's a bit slower to catch up this time.

If he could throw up, he'd likely be doing that right now.  He turns after a moment to follow S6, head down as he tries to cope with what he just did.  The others...

Just focus on helping others right now...
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is a cyborg she can be healed/fixed so long as she does not lose her braincase she doesn't know about Cordelay after all and a plan is forming in her head she sees S39 pull the grenade but is it S39 doing it? Or is it whatever is puppeteering him. It's too late as something bails from his body and the explosive is now armed.

"GRENADE!"

she cries out as the thing is coming right for them. She will raise her rifle. She then pulls what looks like a grenade of her own, it's freezer foam and she throws it at second nullborn, coming right for her and Cordelay. If this works she'll try to shoot the trapped nullborn.
Reiji Arisu It's working... It's working...! The lifeless waters, the crumbling stone, they retreat like the spectre of night before the rising sun. Reiji doesn't need to use his eyes to experience it. Nature's resurgent, living flow is enough. The wound is mended. The hole is closed. And yet--

There's... There's a sensation. A feeling. A notion of emotion, not from beyond the sealed gate, but from the other side. From... The world itself?

A sensation of... Fatigue. Exhaustion. A desire simply to surrender, to give up and allow things to pass into the quiet finality of oblivion. Reiji's brow knits thoughtfully. He answers, replying in the subtle pulse of his own life force-- a language that the world and its spirits understand intimately.

                      ...If this is not sufficient...
                      ...Then I must needs continue...
                              ...I hear you...
                             ...Who are you...?
                         ...How can we help you...?
                         ...We will not give up...
S6     Cordelay vaults the emerging worm creature, slicing up its small body into pieces. What's left loses consistency, collapsing into black mush. By the time she lands on the other side, several more of the nullborn parasites have erupted from the trio of androids. And then the foam grenade goes off. All three bodies and their emerging parasites disappear into a clump of hardening foam. There's some scratching and scrabbling for a few moments. The foam suddenly explodes, shattered by the life grenade inside it, leaving some humanoid bodies oozing with black sludge and obvious electronic components, but nothing left that's actually moving.

Similar to the experience three floors higher, this disgusting variant of the Nullborn seems to be lethally alergic to explosions.

I4 finds that S6 had only moved a few steps away after turning around, and now she simply stands there. She's taking quiet, but deep breaths. Centering herself. Given how calm she usually is, this encounter has left her visibly rattled.

"...Unit lost," she mutters, "...We can spare Command the details. But this new Nullborn type will still need to be catalogued." Turning slightly, she glances back at the bits of flame and ash left behind, "...I'm sorry."

After a long moment, she reaches out, resting a hand on I4's shoulder. Just for a moment. Only then does she actually step away to the side of the building where an android could easily just jump out.

Reiji's response is met with silence. A heavy, long pause that suggests whatever it is might still be paying attention. At last, after several moments, it flashes with sensations of exhaustion, sickness, infirmity.

    try...
              try...
         try...

Within that mire of despair, hidden before, but sensed now; the faintest spark of hope. Shortly after, the presence sinks away.
Cordelay Levail Turning just in time to watch Kotone's freezer foam explode from the inside, Cordelay curls her lip in disgust. "Was that it? Hardly a challenge at all." She looks to Kotone and asks, "Are you unharmed, Mistress Yamakawa?"

As she waits for an answer, she takes a moment to speak into her communicator. "All the Nullborn that emerged from these three have been obliterated. Are the rest of you safe?" Despite being ambushed and attacked by such disturbing creatures, Cordelay doesn't even sound rattled. She's been through worse.
Ishirou I4 turns to nearly run into S6, and he almost interprets the heavy breathing and strange movement as potential infection.  However, she speaks, clearly and plainly.  More than that, the first time he's seen actual emotion out of S6 for as long as he knew her.

There is a moment where they both can only feel the pain of the lost unit.  "You...don't have to be sorry, it was my fault.  I made the decision..." he says, quietly.  He really can't say anything else, he did it...he made the choice.

She goes to jump off, and there is not much else to do here.  Lowering his head, he decides to head into the facility.  "I'll scan for any remains.  I won't engage.." He says, quietly, before moving on.
Reiji Arisu Hope.

That's as much as they could possibly hope for. Reiji releases a long, relieved sigh as he finishes the final touches on the seal. "Hold on for as long as you can," he says, as if that vast presence could hear and understand his words. In a way, perhaps it can? The air that carries his voice may very well be part of it, after all. "This is just the first of many. The real battle for this world's survival begins now."

Reiji pauses, pressing a couple of fingers again to his communicator. "I think we'll have quite a story to tell I1 when we return. But closing these holes will only solve one end of the problem. The candle burns from both sides, and I feel that we're in danger of running out of wick."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa takes a moment to make sure there are no more of the thing menacing her and Cordelay. She takes a moment she looks around to make sure there are no more of them to menace her. She seems haunted for a moment.

"I am fine Miss Levail"

She seems to have a sense of loss, seeing the fate of the androids they came to find? All she can hope is their sufferins is over now and they can rest. She doesn't think from what those nullborn did to them they could be repaired.

"No these were more of an ambush sort it seems. There were no officers on sight those might be more you speed. I'm not sure if I'm going to sleep tonight however..."
