Karian Icefang     The Space Wolves had been extremely quiet for the longest time to the Multiverse outside. Nothing had come from them, not even idle radio chatter when out of the blue, a 'Wolf Lord Ivar' reached out asking members of the Paladins as well as the friends of Karian Icefang to come pay a visit to the Fang. Those who come would find they were being watched, moreso then usual. Yet at the same time, nothing seemed different. "Welcome, welcome. We apologize for such a long silence, we have had some...issues we were dealing with." Ivar says, having gone to meet those who arrive. He appeared fairly young, by space marine standards, but his preseanse gave off one of authority and command. Flanking him were the usual cadre of Wolfguard, each helmed but visibly relaxed.
Gawain Sir Gawain, and any Paladins arriving with him, come through a Paladins shuttle. The Warden is dressed in his black and gold coat over armor, his formal wear as it is, as he approaches the massive fortress, stepping into what is likely a meeting area or throne room to meet Wolf Lord Ivar.

Gawain is not stupid. He knows Wolf Lord was Karian's title, though he does not know if there are multiple. But everything, from the lack of Karian being a go-to, to the 'issues', to the fact they're being watched, implies that something happened with Karian. For now, though, Gawain remains polite.

With a short bow, he introduces himself. "Sir Gawain, Knight of the Sun, Warden of the Paladins. You must be Wolf Lord Ivar! It is a pleasure. What is the issue you speak of?"
Staren     Staren shows up in his heavier armor; although still only about six feet tall, its bulk brings it a little closer to Space Marine aesthetic. The shoulderpads are big, but not THAT big. He's added a cloak to try and make it look a little more formal -- it's sea-green, with horizontal gold stripes around the shoulders and a white symbol on the back that looks like a medical cross inside a gear, with circuit traces extending into it from the negative space.

Staren looks around at the assembled group, confusion hidden by the T-shaped slit that passes for a visor in his helmet. "Where is Karian? Is he alright?"
Gawain As Staren asks about Karian's well-being, Gawain sighs lightly, and just smiles wearily. Staren asked what he was thinking, but a bit sooner than he expected, and with slightly less tact then he'd prefer. But Staren could, tell, in that sigh - Gawain is worried about Karian too.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa had worked on and off with Karian for some time over the years and had got the call along with other Paladin's operatives she has to wonder what's up with Karian. She's on the shuttle with Gawain. She's suited up in her normally worn stealth armour and only has her matter manipulator visible on her so far as anything goes with her she would look to Sir Gwain over for a moment as they arrive. "Chevalier Kotone Yamakaway also of the Paladins."

In the back of her mind she wondered where was Karian? Kotone is also tiny compared to any of the space marines as she barely passes five feet and they are taller than most normal humans.

"Greetings might I ask to what made you ask for our appearance here today?"
Karian Icefang     Ivar smiles towards everyone, though it's more of a rueful smile. "He's allright, just...not here. You see, after alot of thought, he gathered us all together and told us that he was going to essentially leave his post and become more of a lone wolf...living outside of the fang. Of course, we protested and asked him to remain, but he felt it was time for the next in line to take his title and sit with the other 11. After debate, it was decided that I would take his rank." Ivar says, much to the praise of his men. With a gesture though, they all quiet down. "But with that, we have things to discuss. You see, while we appreciate the aid from the Multiverse at large...we kindly ask you to 'back off'. We are already under immense suspiscion from the Inquisition and the Imperium as a whole. The Multiverse at large, while it hass allies, is more looked at like a dangerous asset, better kept at arms length..."
Staren     Something feels off. But Staren will play along. "...I must admit I'm surprised, that the Space Wolves would throw away such a useful alliance, but it's your decision. I'm sure the people of Agripinaa Sector will be saddened to lose your aid. If you'll just take us to Karian, we'll be on our way and never bother you again."

As he speaks, he has his AI scanning the faces of the wolves, comparing them to the ones he's seen before, to see if anyone beside Karian is suspiciously absent.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa isn't sure what to make of this Karian running off, she gets Ivar getting Karians rank of things had gone that way. That's not what's off she just looks at the Space Marine for a moment. She opens to her mouth to say something when the marine thankfully cuts here off unintentionally. As he explains why he just asked them to back off?

It makes much more sense to her now. The issue is the Inquisition, it seems and she makes note of this as she listens. "The Imperium's going to eat itself alive at this rate. I admit having a tech priest wanting to take me apart has been an unsettling experience."

Well she had one do so, as part of a deal to aid with the world Gilgamesh is rebuilding. She still wishes she could forget about that.
Gawain As Ivar talks, telling them that Karian left, that they would like the group to leave the Imperium sector. This is shady. Extremely shady. But...Gawain knows how to play the game. He's a Paladin Warden, not just a dork. He thinks this through, and then nods.

"Of course! We'll just require an official signed writ from the..." He checks his PDA, looking over files. "High Lord of Terra, and the Inquisition, and we'll happily declare this world off-limits." There's a smile. It's genuine, but of the two Elites here who have met Gawain, they can call it, for once, 'actually cunning'.

And then Staern asks to be brought to Karian. "I must second that. As Karian is a Paladin, while the Space Wolves were under him, we must speak to him personally to revoke his access codes and verify. You understand, we cannot take it second-hand."
Karian Icefang     Ivar grins back to Gawain, seeing the man's cunning and matching it with his own. "Of course. I'd be glad to. Hvisterk, if you'd please?" He asks to the Wolfguard next to him. The man nods and motions for everyone to follow him. He would lead the group out near a frozen lake. "Here....this is where we dropped him." Hvisterk says, dropping the act. "No one will come looking out here...The wolves should eat your bodies while we bring the fool wolves to heel under the Lord of Excess...Now, good by-" He started, until a cloaked figure tackles the man to the ground. Anyone who knows Karian would instantly recognize his wolfpelt cloak.
Staren     As they go for a walk, Staren comments, "If in the future you wish to come to the aid of Amistel Majoris, you are of course welcome to meet with me and talk about it, but do call ahead. We've hired a mercenary to deal with any ships that aren't accounted for, and... whoo boy, you shoulda seen what she did to the LAST one..."

This is where we dropped him.

"Really? You think we're leaving without--" Staren starts, but then Ivan executes his poorly thought out betrayal.

Which is to say, he gives up the element of surprise to three heavily-armed elites.

For now, Staren opens up with beam cannons on anyone helping Ivan, and goes for kill shots (well, they would be on anyone but a Space Marine...) with shaped-charge missiles on anyone who actually raises a hand against the assembled elites.

Yes, /anyone/. He has a lot of missiles.

"Idiots. You think brutish thuggery is what Slaanesh is about? Pleasure taken at the cost of others is tainted. Hedonism is for SHARING, not hording for yourself!"

After recovering from his automatic 'lecture hypocrites' reflex, he smiles and adds, "Karian! Good to see you again!"
Gawain Gawain is led to the lake. He's only mildly surprised when Hvisterk reveals they're Chaos cultists and tried to murder Karian - surprised that they revealed the act /this early/, and also the Chaos part. Gawain moves to start flicking his wrist, summoning his sword, but before he can engage combat...

Karian's there, attacking him. Gawain smiles, and then glances around. "While I don't presume to take command of you, Staren, my plan is simple. We recover Karian Icefang and escape on the shuttle, possibly with his 'friend' here for questioning. We get Karian's side of the story, and prepare a battle plan. We will not destroy the threat today, not without significant consequences."

If the Chaos Wolves attack, Gawain's blade is lit on fire with the power of holy sunlight, and moves to slash through any in the way of him recovering Karian and trying to get him to the shuttle.
Kotone Yamakawa The Space Wolf's words left her on edge, she was uneasy about this for some reason and soon it becomes clear as to why. Some of the wolves had fallen to chaos and Slaanesh and she recalls what little she knows about it. The plan to leave them to die? She was ready for a fight when Gawain issues his orders she's quick to summon a weapon from her inventory and she looked as ready as she can be. As she's about to opens up with her rifle aiming to go for vulnerable points and timing them with Staren's fire.

Then a very welcome event occurs Karian drops in like some kind of old comic book superhero on the fallen wold.

"Understood Sir."

She'll give Gawain any cover he needs she'll also attempt to see if she can get into the local Coginator network and see if she can get any data to help them all out.
Karian Icefang     Karian and Hvisterk wrestle off into the nearby snowbank while a pair of other wolves run forward, having been lieing in ambush. "Damn Hvisterk! You were early! This was supposed to be quick! Your on your own!" The pair say in unison before tearing off in the opposite direction. Over with the pair, they engage in a rather quick and brutal fight, one that ends with Hvisterk choked out...and Karian with an Astartes knife in his gut.
"Not much to say...Ivar, the damned fool, used his foul magicks to overload my senses and cast me from the Fang...fabricated evidence I was a traitor as well and claimed I chose exile over death. He's nothing but a foul Sorceror, but...right now we don't have the means to fight him or his forces. Freyja's nearby..she can help us find a safe place to get out of here." He says, whistling loudly. Sure enough, a MASSIVE polar bear comes trotting over and picks up Hvisterk in her jaw. Most noticibly, aside from his greatsword and cloak, Karian was unarmed...no power armor, and no bolter.
Gawain Gawain nods to Karian as he continues, and moves up neer Freyja as she approaches. He's going to run alongside them. "You're wounded and unarmored. We need to get you to safety. Gawain taps his earpiece. <"Staren, can you hold them off while we escape with Karian? It'll be dangerous, but I believe in you!">

And then, hopefully, they're off to start trying to find a safe place, before the entire horde comes at them.
Staren     "YOU don't have the means." Staren corrects. "I have a spaceship in orbit and SOOOOOO many guns." He'll keep firing at any he can see (or that drones which he launches can see...), now that it's confirmed they're all traitors and not just a case of one traitor coercing others into going along with it.

"...I guess at the very least, it'll keep them away." Staren adds with a hint of disappointment. Limited to the weaponry ON him instead of an army, he'd need to focus everything on one marine at a time to have much chance of killing them. Harrassing a bunch of them at once like this is spreading him too thin, although it'll hopefully send them running to lick their wounds.

"So, DO you have a way off world? And are there any other survivors?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa nods to Karian she knows he's hurt, she pauses.

"I can set a turret drone or two."

She notes and she's found no local computers as well Space Wolves they like to keep it really old school where they can. She brings up the idea of drones then thinks about it for a moment deploying two gun turret drones. "There something disposable for when we get out of here.

"We can't exactly leave you here KArian we need to get the hell out." Sadly all of Kotones' guns are far too small for a space marine to use and she has nothing int he way of melee weapons she grimaces at this.
Karian Icefang     Karian nods. "Your right..." He says. But first, he pulls the knife from his gut, the wound already healing. "There should be a fjord nearby to land your ship in. As for this little traitor...I'm giving him to the Paladins to interrogate. As his rightful Wolf Lord, I authorize you to use any and all means to make him talk." He says. As said, nearby a Fjord was located, just waiting for a ship to quietly land.
"I've tried for weeks to get a message out to all of you. Must have damaged my radio...first thing once we're safe. I need to rearm."
Staren     A fjord nearby? Staren shakes his head. "It's not really meant for planetary operation, but I'll set up a telepad for us."

I authorize you to use any and all means to make him talk.

"Woahhhh." Staren comments, using his thumbs and forefingers to make a camera-framing gesture at Karian. "You sure you're with the Paladins and not the Concord? Or maybe that sounded more Watch..."

    I need to rearm.

"Yeah yeah no problem. Although it'll take a little longer to ready armor in your size... Staren pulls a couple of missile launchers out of his bag and tosses them to Karian, then runs off to prepare the telepad, leaving a drone to watch the group.
Gawain As Staren says he has a ship and that'll be their escape, Gawain radios the shuttle to flee, instead of touching down and getting shot at. When they reach the fjord, they have some time to talk as Staren gets a telepad.

"Your brothers-in-arms. Are they...dead? Did any survive?"
Karian Icefang 5r    "They live. Most of them are smart and likely feigning alliegence. Others are hiding like me. We'll need to rally them together, then march on the Fang. That will not be easy, but we can cross that bridge when we get to it." He then gives a look at Staren, before catching the rocket launchers. "No...I'm just through playing nice with heretics. A wolf must hunt...and I haven't hunted heretics in a long time." Karian says, waiting for the pad to be set up. Hvisterk wakes up and tries to run, but is quickly chased down and sat on by the massive Freyja. "Good girl, Freyja."
Staren     Staren's process appears to begin by using the matter manipulator to create an artificial cave. "Bee tee dubs," Staren offers, trying to offset the extremely dark turn this visit has taken with lighthearted words "if you'd like a NON-torture way to trick him into talking, I'm open to helping with a VR simulation."

Once there's a cave big enough for a few Space Marines to stand around, he sets down a pad and places something containing purple crystal inside of it.

He bows, "All of you first, I'll close it off." By which he means he'll replace the cliff face just as it was, so that the telepad can remain a secret entry point to Fenris. He'll come back and expand this area a little later.
Kotone Yamakawa A plan is hatched and Kotone pauses for a moment.

"Give me the coordinates I'll have a drone scout ahead."

She'll leave the gun turrets as an annoyance to the traitor marines and it might give them a little bit of time. The order Karian issues and order that makes the small cyborg flinches for half a second but she foes get where he's coming from. They need to get moving with Staren going ahead her plan to scout isn't needed.

"Gawain. I haven't found any systems I could get into."

She's going to keep alert for more trouble as she waits for Staren.

"If any loyal Space Wolves are left we need to help get them out if we can."
Karian Icefang     Karian nods towards Staren, sighing softly. "Whatever works...I've been surviving nearly a month and it's worn on me. But I'm glad you all came." He says, calling freyja over. She brings their new 'guest' over and they leave Fenris for now...only to return later.
