    "Highway. Construction site."
"The one leading out to the suburbs?"
"That's the one. Heard he's using it to test something. Some weird new crap he's gotten his hands on."

NOW
With little else to go on, the vigilantes from Wood Oak City have made the construction area near the bridge their next destination to continue their investigation into Mr. X. After making sure that their tracks are sufficiently covered, Blaze and Max give their allies and those interested in assisting them the location, the time, and the plan of action.

Upon arrival at the highway, things are actually less hectic than the first meeting in the alleyway downtown. Max and Blaze are both waiting near an unmarked car at the ramp clad in drab trench coats, the former looking even bulkier than normal in his while the latter has the hat to complete the vaguely noir outfit. Pramanix, too, is hunkered inside her own coat, although the white of her tail and hair still stick out a little too much.

"Looks like we've got just about everyone. What's the plan?" Max asks, although it's fairly obvious from his tone that he's doing that more for the sake of those arriving than for his own knowledge.
"Easy. We search the bridge, find whatever it is Mister X is testing here, and we take it somewhere else for analysis. That'll help us figure out what we're working with here so we can lock him up after we settle this whole situation." Blaze answers, drawing a quick nod from the wrestler.
"What of our approach? Do you think we can manage this without anyone knowing we've come?" Pramanix asks, drawing a noncommital shrug from Blaze and an uncertain grimace from Max.
"Depends on you guys. You think we can get this done quietly?"
Yang Xiao Long     "Subtlty isn't really my strong suit." remarks Yang as she adjusts her outfit. It's not the flambouyant one she wore last outing, instead it's more somber, with a pair of long 'rails' hanging down around her legs.. The bracelets stick out like sore thumbs regardless, and there's no making her hair any less vibrant. "If things go pear shaped, I can run a distraction for you guys though. I'm real good at being the big, loud and annoying thing everyone wants to kill."
Reina Kinney "I know a bit about being subtle," Reina says as she, too, dons a trenchcoat complete with the hat and even a pair of sunglasses to cover her eyes. The collar of the coat is lifted up slightly to hide her long red ponytail as she glances around a little. "But mainly my focus is on actual combat. Nevertheless, I'll try to stay discreet, but if things go south, I'm ready to rock."

"No? Well..." As Max replies to Yang's and Reina's shared general lack of subtlety, he runs a hand through his extremely short hair as he looks at the group gathered, going from person to person slowly. "I mean, between the hair and the..." He gestures at his own broad frame and Pramanix's uncovered ears and tail. "He'd have to have hired a load of blind chumps not to notice us." Max laughs, Pramanix laughs, a guy in a denim jacket laughs, and then Blaze promptly springs over Max's shoulders to kick him in the face. He howls in pain, and movement can be heard through the rattling of metal sheets and chains from the construction zone.

"So much for quiet. Feh, whatever. I still need to let off some steam from last time..." Blaze gives the goon a swift punch to the face to knock him out (probably), then starts heading up the ramp with Max and Pramanix jogging after her to catch up.

Needless to say, there's a veritable brawl incoming as the group reaches the gets up the ramp to the highway proper. There's already goons bearing down on them, wave after wave of similarly dressed guys with red hair, muscled bald guys with no shirts on and shades despite it being kind of dark outside already, and those mohawked weirdoes with the penchant for sliding and hurling anyone they can get their hands on. They're not the only people this group will have to contend with, though, as the rumbling of motors in the distance quickly grows louder and closer by the second.

Coming from both directions: Motorcycle riders! Donning bright yellow outfits and spiked shoulder pads, the bikers seem intent to ram themselves right through the group, using all that steel to try and turn everyone into roadkill.
Yang Xiao Long     "Gotta give 'em some credit. These guys are persistant." Yang deploys her gauntlets, and charges up the ramp along with the others. She launches herself just at the crest, and fires herself off like a human cannonball into the midst of the incoming goons, slamming the highway tarmac and sending out a 'ripple' of destruction, launching shrapnel in a cone towards the incoming goons.

The motors get her attention next. "You'd think they'd have learned from the car incident." she quips, then turns and plays chicken with one of the incoming bikes. When it gets close enough, she grabs on, digs in her heels and hauls it up and over, launching the rider and his machine into the incoming goons as well.
Reina Kinney "Guess we won't be needing stealth at all," Reina says as she tosses off the jacket and hat, not to mention the sunglasses which were cheap knockoffs anyway. Cracking her knuckles, Reina is about to summon one of her weapons when she realizes she really doesn't need them at all. "It's been a while since I engaged in a little close-quarters combat," She says with a slight smirk. With no shortage of opponents, Reina goes after the nearest goon to her. But she doesn't attack just yet; Rather her goal is to try to trick her opponent into throwing the first atteck then using a counter-attack on them in hopes of putting them down quickly.
Karlan Nobles MUSIC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRNQQ7ckR7U    Like last time, the goons aren't quite so ready to deal with the Elites they're facing on an individual level. Yang's cone of shrapnel punches into a whole group of the the charging thugs, their only protection being the bodies of those unlucky or stupid enough to actually be in the front of the crowd. That strategy doesn't work quite so well when motorcycles are thrown at them wholesale, but...

They'll probably survive the blunt force trauma. If nothing else, the people of this region are a hardy bunch!

"Pretty sure these ain't the same guys from last time. If they are..." Max interrupts his free action of speaking as he leaps into the air, somehow managing to clear his entire height despite his bulk, and delivers a heavy dropkick to the face of an oncoming motorcyclist. The motorcycle skids along the ground, resulting in a satisfying/worryingly large explosion for some inexplicable reason.

Reina's strategy throws the goons off their game as well. It doesn't take much effort or time for several of them to surround her , but actually landing a blow is another story entirely. When she gets close to one, he takes a swing on reflex, but gets knocked flat on his back for his efforts. Meanwhile, with so many goons focused on Reina trying to figure out how to actually get near her...

That just gives Blaze and Pramanix the opening they need to start taking them down en masse. The Saint of Karlan's bell rings as she begins her ritual, calling down snow on one side to bury several people in... Snow. It's unnaturally cold, too, to the point that those unlucky enough to get caught in it can barely even move or feel anything. Also, it probably means those coats will be coming in handy sooner rather than later.

All the while, Blaze opts for the tried and true strategy of hitting people in the face. A lot. She slams them facefirst into the ground, goes for elbow strikes to the nose, and even goes for a few axe kicks for good measure.

Needless to say, there's not a lot of people left standing after a good minute or two of solid brawling. There's not much time for relaxation, though, as a commotion can be heard coming from a nearby truck. It sounds like there's fighting going on inside, and should anyone in the group go inside...

It's exactly what it sounds like. There's a kid in a baseball cap wearing skates inside this truck, somehow managing to zip around the interior of the trailer on those roller skates while a small crowd of motorcyclists and a shirtless man with a topknot split their attention between trying to beat him down and face the Elites with chains, pipes, and a (probably) authentic katana!
Yang Xiao Long     Yang finishes off one final goon with a recoil-assisted elbow to the face, then blinks as she hears the commotion from the truck. She sprints over, barges inside and instinctively ducks under the kid as he skates around, going to sweep the legs of the large guy with the topknot. The tight interior limits her mobility, and she takes several lashings from those chains and pipes, but focusses on not getting sliced by the katana. Blunt force she can handle, cutting blades can sometimes overpower Aura.

She doesn't speak, just letting those hits built her Semblance while she focusses on taking out the katana-wirlder, using her gauntlets and monsterous strength to deflect the blade and go for the user with recoil amped punches and back-elbow strikes. She's a flurry of blows, barely slowing down.
Reina Kinney With one goon down, Reina looks at the others surrounding her. "Close-quarters combat is nothing to sneeze at," She says sternly. "I could easily go on the offensive when I'm ready, but it's more efficient to wait for my opponent to attack then counter them." She narrows her eyes a little. "Sure makes judo look like kid's stuff too," She comments with sarcasm dripping in her voice. But then her eyes return to normal and she says, "OK, who's next?" This time, she doesn't react automatically; Rather she waits to see what her next opponent's attack will be like before formulating a plan from there.
Karlan Nobles     As the group crowds into the trailer, the truck begins to move! Just as well, since it gives the Elites more chaos to work with on the inside. The kid flips right over Yang as she zips underneath him to sweep the topknot guy off his feet, and Blaze follows that up with a hard landing with her knee into the topknot guy's face to keep him on the ground.

"Whoa! Who're all these chicks? You're not with Mister X, are you?" He sounds surprised at the sudden reinforcements even while bounding off one guy's head and catching onto Max's arms who starts swinging him around like a wrecking ball.

"Nah, Skate. These ladies're with us!" The wrestler bellows as he swings the child and his weirdly powerful legs into another biker's face. As Reina works on taking down the thugs methodically, she manages to keep several of them watching for whatever her gambit is going to be. One pair rush her with pipes, and another pair is about to join them, but...

Well, contained spaces happen to be a great area for Max to fight in with his considerably slower, but more powerful fighting style. With less room for the goons to maneuver and avoid him in, Max starts charging around the contained area, smashing goons into walls and providing Reina and Yang with ample opportunities to beat the rest of the thugs into submission. The katana-wielder is caught completely off guard by being attacked first, apparently banking more on intimidation tactics by having the bladed weapon rather than actually being fast enough to get the first hit in before taking that flurry to the everywhere.

Pramanix, meanwhile, hasn't quite had an opportunity to show off in such a contained and closed off space. Instead, she's busy looking around the trailer itself, peering at all the strange machines inside and poking at various crates. "What are all these things...?"

Once the minions are taken care of, the group finally gets a chance to breathe. "This isn't a place for kids to be playing around, Eddie. What are you doing here?" Blaze asks, sounding both irritated and vaguely concerned about the kid's presence.

"They took my brother! I heard they were gonna bring him out here to test Mister X's package, but I didn't see him nowhere." Skate cracks his knuckles as he glances around the interior of the truck, gesturing at the various machines and crates lying around. "I saw these guys loading all these on board, and I figured they'd know something about where Adam is!"

Just as he says that, the truck jostles as it goes over a bump, but doesn't stop moving just yet. "Geez, kid... Well, since you're here anyway. You said it was in one o' these?" Max asks as he joins Pramanix in cracking those crates open. "There's a whole load of these, but... Who knows where this truck is headed? We could wait and see, but it might be too late to stop if it's something nuts and gets where it needs to go."
Yang Xiao Long     Yang doesn't seem as concerned by a kid in a combat zone... her world has basically child soldiers, after all. The boxes get her attention, joining Max and Pramanix in inspecting them. "I could go have a chat with the driver, get him to pull over." she suggests. "Or Reina could, she might be able to do it without blowing half the cab to kingdom come." she adds in suggestion, glancing at the fellow Elite. "Skate, huh?" she mentions next, kneeling down to get on the kid's level. "Pretty cool moves you had going there kiddo, where'd you learn to fight like that?"
Reina Kinney "Do it without blowing up half the cab?" Reina asks. She thinks for a moment before smiling a little as she snaps her fingers on both hands, causing her pistols to materialize in her hands. "The blasts in these things are like a taser to a human being. So if the guy doesn't cooperate, I'm sure I can knock him out..." A frown appears. "Although, then comes the issue of stopping this thing..." Shrugging a little, Reina makes her way towards the cab... or rather the wall separating her from the cab.

A couple of good punches later, Reina is sticking out into the cab with her gun pointed at the driver's head. "Unless you want to get a really bad shock, I suggest you stop this truck immediately without any trouble." The narrowed eyes and the fact that one of her weapons is about ready to be utilized suggests she's not bluffing.
Karlan Nobles     The adrenaline seems to be wearing down a bit for Skate by the time Yang addresses him, and he grins confidently when she compliments his repertoire. "Yeah? Heh. My bro taught me! His style's more straightforward kickboxing, but I've ga kickboxer, but I got my own style. Self-taught, even." He boasts with just a fair bit of puffing up. Max and Pramanix both snicker softly, disguised somewhat by having their backs turned to focus on getting the boxes open.  With Yang's prior assistance, it doesn't take much longer to reveal what it was that Skate saw brought on board earlier.

It's.. Not entirely clear what it is. It looks vaguely like a large metallic bean with little things sticking out of the bottom to keep it upright, a blank display, and several wires sticking out of it. "Alright, enough screwing around. We'll need to bring this back with us if we want to figure out what it is." After Blaze scolds nearly everyone, she slides the cover back onto the crate, then works with Max to get it unloaded while Reina works on getting the truck stopped.

Luckily for Reina, she's got a lot of negotiation factors in her favor here. Punching right through the back of the cab is scary enough, having that gun trained on the driver startles her further, and the eery silence from the rest of the cab that had been so rowdy moments ago gives hte driver little reason to disobey that order. The truck rolls to a stop, and she even shows a bit of good faith by raising the back door so nobody has to smash that open!

"There's the package! Kill 'em all before they get away!"

Of course, it's not going to be /that/ easy to get the strange thing out of there. The driver's content to just stay quiet and hide inside the cab while a smaller force of Mr. X's henchmen arrive to provide a barrier to the Elites' escape. Bikers zip by from multiple directions, swinging chains as their preferred strategy for drive-by lashings. Some of the bikers dismount instead, taking off their helmets and hurling strange red and green vials that burst into clouds of fire and poisonous gas.

The leader of this group, meanwhile, is a guy on a jetpack in the garb of a stereotypical 1990s movie ninja. With the air as his battlefield, he zips in and out of range, aiming divekicks when someone looks occupied and throwing shuriken from afar!
Yang Xiao Long     Yang reaches over, and pats Skate on the shoulder. "Self taught fighting styles are the best. Always catch people off guard when you break out a sick manuever when they're expecting something else." she says, grinning. "We should swap notes sometime, 'specially when we get your brother back."

The truck rolls to a stop, the crate and weird device are offloaded... and then there's a flying ninja. "Really... REALLY? A flying ninja... you've gotta be sh---" she's cut off by a chain to the back of the head.

Contrary to what might be expected from getting domed by a heavy length of metal linkage, this just seems to ppiss her off. Eyes shift red and ember-like motes rise off of her hair. "I'm just about done with you guys." she snarls, grabbing one of the chains as it swings by, and attempting to use it to swing the biker around like a flail, aiming to knock his buddies off their rides at the same time.
Reina Kinney "You as much as THINK about starting this up again and I'm gonna blast you," Reina says as she pulls back before looking around and finding that Mr. X was apparently ready for them. "Oh great, just what I needed." And then there's a flying ninja? Along with gas and...

"You got a pilot's license for that?" Reina asks with sarcasm clearly visible as she attempts to shoot down the flying ninja with her pistols. Whether she can hit is one thing, but how well the shots take effect if they hit is another story.
Karlan Nobles     "Adapt or die! I'm not going to fight on the ground like a chump when I can use this!" Jet snaps back at Yang with a confident laugh as he keeps hurling shuriken at the crowd from above, weaving back and forth effortlessly to evade Reina's initial volley of bullets. "A ninja knows how to use any tool at his disposal! It's not my fault if you don't know how to deal with it!"

Indeed, it's going to take some concerted effort to bring Jet down. The bikers are easy enough to beat to a pulp as those chains and also the bikers themselves are used against them courtesy of Yang, being swung around not unlike Skate had been swung around by Max moments earlier inside the truck. Skate joins Yang in taking out the drivers, leaping overhead and grabbing their shoulders to throw them right off with the momentum from his flips.

The motorcycles themselves seem to be made of explodium as they skid out from underneath their riders, crashing and burning around the construction site. "Easy, easy! Don't let those explosions get near the package, dumbasses!" Jet shouts at the crowd, the momentary distraction giving him a chance to dive at Reina and Max, the latter barely managing to slam a meaty forearm into the flying ninja's leg to send him spinning out of control for a few key moments.

As that scuffle continues, Pramanix once again begins her snow-calling ritual. Before she can direct it at Jet, however, she's forced to churn the localized blizzard around herself to throw some incoming vials right back at the semi-molotov and toxin wielders. Blaze works on kicking the crap out of the throwers, even catching a few of the unlucky ladies with German suplexes right onto the pavement.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang's getting mighty riled up by the smug ninja. "You think I can't hit you from here? You think I'm a one trick pony that can only brawl? THINK AGAIN BUCKY BOY." she bellows, slamming her fists together. Her Aura expands outwards, knocking vials away, blowing out fires and dispersing poison clouds. It even makes the rain pause for half a breath. That's when she launches herself into the air on recoil powered punches, aiming to grab the jetpack, or the Ninja himself.

If she can't grab on, she instead starts firing bolts of explosive power from her gauntlets, each bolt exploding near the ninja, or after travelling a short distance past him if he evades away.
Reina Kinney "You son of a De Rol Le," Reina mutters, the strongest curse she can think of as she goes after the ninja. She's about to try something, when she sees Yang is attempting to attack by grabbing onto the ninja. Realizing she might be in a bit of a bind here, Reina simply watches to see what Yang does before taking action again.
Karlan Nobles     "As if! I've seen your types before. Your next move is going to be punching those explosions out to come right after me, isn't it?!" Jet predicts with his own shrill shouts, and if Yang was the only person here, he'd probably be able to evade her charge easily with his speed, whatever accounts for his ninja training, and somehow knowing about her capabilities already.

Alas, Yang isn't here on her own, and the burst of Aura dispersing the flames and poison compounds on earlier efforts to bring down the rest of the goons. Without their flaming and toxic clouds, the throwers are fairly ineffectual and find themselves beaten down by Blaze en masse. Skate and Max, lacking their own means to reach the flying ninja who seems oddly intent on staying away, instead make easy work of the bikers through a combination of flinging bikers and motorcycles respectively.

That leaves Pramanix without interruption to finish the snowcalling ritual. Jet's flight relies on the weather not working against him too much, but that's just what happens. As he tries to blast himself sideways to evade Yang, wind buffets him from the other direction to keep him effectively unmoving in the sky. There's a brief 'oh shit' look in his eyes as Yang draws closer, and then...

"... Psyche! You think I wouldn't be prepared for this, either?! Eat this, suckers!" And then Jet pulls out an uzi. He's about to start firing, too, right until an ice brick clobbers him right in the arm, causing the gun to fall harmlessly to the ground below.

"Did you think we wouldn't be prepared for your tricks? You should have done more research." Pramanix calls out with an eerie calm surrounding her, the hail growing heavier and putting sizable dents into the jetpack to ensure that the flier is going to be left at the group's mercy in mere moments.

The 'oh shit' look returns, and it remains.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang sees the uzi, and doesn't seem to care. The fact that Pramanix knocks it out of his hand just lets an evil smirk break her lips. She latches on, and slams her head against Jet's, shifts around as hail pelts both herself and the ninja, and jams a fist straight through the core of the jetpack, firing a blast to gut the mechanics and shred the controls. This likely causes gravity to kick back in with a vengeance, though the brawler shifts to take the impact (mostly) on herself, so the group can grill the ninja for info. "Just between you and me." she says to the ninja as she moves to pin him down. "I did that on purpose. Never let people see your whole bag of tricks."
Reina Kinney "OK! You asked for it!" Reina says as she narrows her eyes a little. "Yang! Get back! I'm gonna teach this joker a bit of a shocking lesson!" She points her right hand in the direction of the ninja and focuses for a moment, before calling out, "ZONDE!"

With that, a blast of electricity flies from her hands and in the direction of the ninja. It's ironic, since Reina can easily be stunned by electricity. But that's just how TECHNICs work.
Karlan Nobles     With the swarm of goons turned into a swarm of bodies, the jetpack destroyed, and the range advantage no longer in play, it doesn't take long to bring Jet to the ground through the use of excessive and highly efficient force. The headbutt dazes the ninja, the sudden descent knocks him out, and the blast of electricity wakes him up just enough to be coherent by the time the group gets back together to stare daggers at the loudmouthed blonde ninja in...

Blue. Just blue. No orange here.

"Alright, alright. You done with the zipping around and being a jerk?" Max starts things off, and Jet looks like he's about to curse him out when Skate and Blaze each step closer slowly, nonchalantly brandishing the katana from earlier and a pipe, respectively.

Plus, Reina, Yang, and Pramanix have already shown their elemental prowess. Best not to piss them off more. "... Okay, okay! You wanna know what the package is, right? Th-there's a guy the boss found! He's supposed to know something about 'finishing the work' or... That's what I heard from Shiva's phone. They got him locked up under the stadium."
Yang Xiao Long     Yang takes some of the electricity from the shock Technic. The arcs skitter across her Aura, making one arm jitter a little, until she shakes the charge out. She heard the warning, but was just too close, and with insuffient time to get clear before the bolt struck.

"So, next stop, the Stadium... what're we gonna do with blondy here?" she asks, putting a foot down on Jet's chest.
Karlan Nobles     "Sounds like it. We'll need some time to get this thing packed away safely, but once we do, we'll get you updated." Blaze confirms with a firm nod, narrowing her eyes just a bit when the topic of Jet is brought up once more.

Blaze: "We can't let him loose."
Skate: "We could drop him off the bridge."
    Max: "Skate!"
Blaze: "What? We can't give him to the police. It'd be safer that way."
    Max: "Blaze!"
Blaze: "Fine, fine. You got any better ideas?"
    Max: "... No."
Pramanix: "Why not keep him in the truck? It's... Mostly functional, and we'll need it to move the package, anyway."

It's not the greatest plan, but it's something. Unles any other plans are leveled, the group will disperse, and their next destination will already be decided.

All that's left is waiting for the opportune time to head there.
