W     Some weeks after the mess surrounding Chernobog, progress has been... Slow. The Empire of Ursus has dragged its heels, leaving many people living in hastily constructed shanty housing surrounding the stricken landship's unmoving form. After all, much of the buildings within were rendered unsafe, with some of the Originium-infected wildlife having been left alive due to their sheer numbers. Rhodes Island has remained on the scene, doing their best to provide aid where possible, housing those in need of immediate medical care, providing rations and protection while teams of Operators sweep through and slowly take care of the Slugs and Spiders still within the city, in the absence of Ursus' own forces.
Which brings us to today. With Ursus being uncommunicative and largely unhelpful, it falls to Rhodes Island to try and broker some help from the wider Multiverse... if at all possible, at least. So, with Amiya and Kal'tsit sitting in a boardroom and overseeing this meeting, the mysterious 'Doctor' is left to oversee the operations on the ground.
Karlan Nobles     Pramanix is wearing multiple hats today, it seems! She's already made her working relationship with both Rhodes Island and the Watch relatively public, at least, so it's probably not too surprising that she arrives at the meeting just in time.

"Greetings, friends. You're doing well, I hope, considering the circumstances." She speaks in her public-speaking tone, keeping her eyes open for anyone else that might be present and unknown to the Karlan Saint. "Have there been any status reports on the Empire's efforts to contain the issue? Or..."

There's a slight grimace as she recalls the attacks that led to this situation in the first place. "... Reunion showing up again? I haven't had much time to track their movements myself, I'm afraid. If they've been spotted anywhere nearby, though, we may have to prepare for the worst. Again."
Amelris Belthrone      Amelris have found himself in very similar camps in the last few months. Not that he minds: he like helping people that are having a big hard time at the current moment... and this is certainly one of them. Being something of a free agent in the area, even if he's here thanks to the Rhode Island company, do allow him to give some relief. Clothing. Healing. Taking care of the slugs outside. Carrying crates. There's no job really too mundane for him to help with.

Thus, Amelris comes into the meeting boardroom, the Red Mage wriggling his gloved hands clean with a little bit of aether washing over them. "Apologies for being late." The Miqo'te comments, taking a seat and adjusting his hat on the table. "I was looking up a cut leg. Boy's fine, now."

He clears his voice, at least having caught the tail end of Pramanix's statement, waving a hand. "We're not really in a position to fend off another attack like that in this location. There's forticiations that can be done, but, well."
W     "Ursus is in a hurry not to do anything, in the interests of 'empire security'," Kal'tsit remarks with irritation clear in her tone. The Feline doctor drums fingers on the boardroom table, while the rabbit-eared girl that is Amiya seems rather more calm. "We need to do something though," she asserts in a rather quiet tone. Kal'tsit looks to the girl and reaches a hand over to lightly pat her upon the head. There's even a small smile! Although anything beyond that quickly disappears and returns to a lingering sourness once she's offered a little soothing attention. "Amiya is right, of course. We need to do something, not just for the people, but also for ourselves. We can't sustain this forever, it is untenable."
Amelris Belthrone      With his bearings gathered, Amelris listens in to the three talking on the situation. Everyon certainly seems... well, perturbed, yet that one small smile do change things a little. "A more lasting solution, then?" He echos, leaning back against his seat. "Of course, the best one would find somewhere we could relocate them, if even just temporairly. Still not an easy feat, to be sure."

He straightens, crossing his hands together. "If this Empire of Ursus is dragging it's feet to take care of it's people... Well, there's certainly some off-world possibilities but that enters new problems. As for taking out Reunion here... What's the situation on them? What do you know?"
Karlan Nobles      Recognizing Amelris's voice, Pramanix offers him a quick nod and smile, furrowing her brow as he gives his own assessment of the area's defensibility. "Probably not, no... Given time and resources, creating a defensive choke point would help, but..."

She looks towards Kal'stit. "Who could have expected that?" Pramanix sounds thoroughly unsurprised by the news of Ursus not doing much at all, sighing after a moment. "That leaves us without much of either, then. You would think Ursus would be more concerned with one of their mobile cities being less-than-mobile, but..."

The Feline priestess shrugs. "I've never been fond of politicians and their way of doing things. That said, what can we do? Even with all the contract work, I don't know if Rhodes Island's resources could support an evacuation of an entire city. And the Watch..."

She lets that thought linger for a moment in her head before continuing. "... Seems ill-suited for reconstruction of anything, sadly enough. Deconstruction, though..." A beat, and then Pramanix taps her chin. "Do we know of any places that could be... Repurposed into useful supplies to stem the bleeding?"
W     "If we had enough engineers, we could likely use what's left of Chernobog to do... Something," Kal'tsit concedes while drumming her fingers together. "This doesn't really help is in more than the short term, though. These people need the ability to move, should a Catastrophe crop up here again. I somehow doubt it will be easy to pull your trick a second time," she remarks in regards to the spectacular deletion of the prior stormclouds. Amiya sits back in her seat meanwhile, rubbing her cheek slightly as she thinks. "It's difficult... if only Rhodes Island were bigger, we could at least house them until we got further into Ursus territory..."
Karlan Nobles      "Being able to move at all... That'll be tricky, especially if they're staying put by choice or otherwise. And I doubt any of us could just make a second mobile city appear out of nowhere." Rubbing her face lightly, Pramanix furrows her brow again as she looks off at charts/data/some other sort of eye-distracting thing to keep her from having to look at anyone in particular.

"But even if we were able to get people moving, keeping them protected along the way..." There's another grimace as Pramanix turns back towards the gathering. "... You could ask my brother. He has the resources and the money, but I doubt he'd do it without something in return."
Amelris Belthrone      "So, really, the big issue here is means and logistics." Amelris says, looking up at the ceiling with a pensive frown, his tail thumping against his seat briefly. "So, we'd need: 1) a mean to move them safely, 2) Somewhere to get them to, 3) Prefferably back into Ursus territory."

The Red Mage straightens, thinking on this. "Well! How many more engineers we're talking about, here? We certainly have some people that are rather fantastical at that." He shakes his head. "As for deleting a cloud like that, yes, it's safe to not rely on that for a second time."

He smiles at the Doctor and the bunny young woman. Bit short for a Viera but hey, same idea. "We have options, friends. We just need to decide on what is the best one to act upon -- we can tackle the difficulties of theses options as we decide upon which is best to pick. Moving them is important and addressing their security is just as important. I suggest to focus on that."
