Gawain NEO-DAYTONA, CYBER-FLORIDA (which is a lot like regular Florida, unfortunately)
DAYTONA MULTIVERSAL SPEEDWAY

The Daytona Multiversal Speedway is a misnomer, because it's not one speedway, but multiple taking up an entire city, built in close connection to each other. One of these tracks, the 'oldschool' track as it is referred to, is built for four-wheeled classic cars, much like where the Daytona 500 was raced in this world long ago.

Today, the Neo-Daytona 500 is being raced. Several new racers have entered the fray, and the stadium is packed, while merch sellers with t-shirts and bobbleheads work outside with trucks.

The race was moving smoothly, having already started...when a dark blue car, without any racing numbers or flags, appeared on the track in the middle of the race. It's currently hunting through the pack.

It's the Blue Spectre, and he's come for his next kill. As soon as someone reports him on the track, and moves to try to usher him off, he suddenly slams into one of the cars, sending it spiralling off into a fiery wreck. It's not his target. But he'll take them all out to find them.

The signal's gone out. Stop him (or not!)
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa had made a call the last time to preserve the medical supplies over catching the targets of the blue Spectre. Was it was a hard call by people involved dying due to the theft was not something she was okay with. So here she was again this time after the Blue Spectre, Kotone's bike is on the track now and she's fully jacked into it. Which would improve her response time as at the moment? The bike is more or less a part of the young Cyborg. She floors it in an attempt to push the bike she created as hard as she can as she tries to catch up with her target.
Rubi-Kan Vagrants      EARLIER

Bercilak rests, unarmored, upon his bike, laid back and making conversation with someone over the broadband. Fragmented, floating islands scattered for miles on end bear grass, trees and animals amidst a thick, otherworldly fog. Light exists, all around, not because of any sun, but because this place remembers the sun it once had. Above the croaking and chirping of a swamp-island full of insects, Bercilak's throaty laugh bellows forth, scaring a tiny winged dragonling from its nest. "Sithen thee to the metropol of Athen, 'pon Rubi-ka. If thou durst. Thou shalt han enchaunce to put thy words to proof, so moot I. I shall speke namo this day--the hunt clepes me to the cite of Daytona."

     DAYTONA, YEAH

Bercilak is going to be one of those racers, whether he's on the list or not. But, upon his last meeting with Blue, he had promised to find a way to test the driver's temperance, having found his will impressive. It's for that reason that he's come to one of the merch-sellers. With a challenge, naturally. The gist of it, after much assured confusion over his weird way of speaking, is this:

Ride with me, no matter what happens. Not only will I guarantee no lasting harm comes to you, I'll give you something that'll sell way faster than shirts.

So determined is he to make this happen that he'll even go to the bobblehead guy. If necessary.

Once he's secured the compact and sealed it with his nanites, the race has already started. Shortly after the fiery wreck, Bercilak, with merch-guy in tow, plows through the entrance gate, expertly weaving around shocked fans still rushing to take their seats, the wash of his thrusters blowing discarded (and unfortunately, a few unfinished) plastic nacho trays chaotically about. He jumps the protective barrier in the stands, and just like that, there are two unwelcome guests here.

Bercilak grabs his passenger by the scruff of the neck, lifting him up to display to Blue. "Him lest nay part of thy wrakedom! Shaltow see him alamed in thy hunt?!"
Chase      A distress call is put out. Something that Chase's colleagues would probably scoff at. After all, why should they concern themselves with human problems? Why should they indeed? Still, it can't be helped, it's who he is after all.

Chase rolls up to the track on his personal motorcycle, stopping to observe the chaotic scene whilst using his leg as a kick stand. His face is completely stoic as he pulls out a gun, pushing the barrel into the palm of his hand. The barrel depresses, causing the gun to play a mechanical backing track followed by an announcement.

     Break Up!

Mechanical parts materialize to fly onto Chase, dawning the man in armor that looks extremely cobbled together. Their sudden change doesn't phase them in the least though, as they immediately rev the handle on their motorcycle before starting to chase the Blue Spectre.
Gawain T-shirt man has no idea what Bercilak is saying, and as soon as the explosion happens, runs off. Bobblehead man on the other hand, took Lesser Variants of English 101, and therefore has a good enough impression, and manages to trust the 'will pay' man.

That is why a bobblehead seller is suddenly screaming being dangled to the side that THIS ISN'T WHAT YOU TOLD ME and such things.

Blue looks through his mirror, in a way that Bercilak can tell he can hear him, but then proceeds to ignore him. Kotone and Chase are coming in hot. With all three behind him, this is going to be hard to focus on targets...so, two birds, one stone.

Blue spins out into another car, hitting it at the right angle to send it careening behind him. He moves to send it straight into the three motorcycles chasing him down, trying to hit them with the soon-to-be fiery wreck!

For those close enough, Blue's radio starts blaring. Sweet Revenge by Motorhead.
Chase      A car is sent flying back towards the group, though Chase doesn't really slow down or seem concerned with dodging it. Using your own kind as disposable shields is truly despicable, and while he could probably easily deal with the car by blowing it up, potentially injuring innocent people doesn't appeal to him.

They however, a massive problem, something that needs to be dealt with if they don't want to spend most of their time making sure there's no major civilian accidents.

The solution is to this is to make slow things down a bit, and though it might be a bit inconvenient to the other two with him, the negatives outweigh the benefits in this case.

With a conclusion reached, a massive shock wave of heavy gravity surges out of Chase's body, indiscriminately slowing everything around them to a considerable degree.

The aforementioned benefit is that this slows down the Blue Spectre a bit and obstacles which makes it easy for them to just maneuver around the incoming car. Unfortunately for literally everyone else on the track, they're probably not having a good time fighting through what feels like perpetual slow motion.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone is expecting something, Blue damn well is a very skilled driver, she presumes the other two drivers are skilled or they'd not be here. Though Bercilak having two passengers was not quite something she expected. It's also another variable for her to worry about as well. The comes Sweet Revenger by Motorhead. She knows what's on Blue's mind revenger and murder. She's going to try to get in the way as she pulls up on his car and she has a few ideas.

"Why do you want these people dead?!"

She tries to get closer, as she has a pair of plans she's going to attempt depending on how Blue reacts. She also tries to keep track of Chase and Bercilak as well.

There is also a car coming at he then things seem to slow down, what's going on here? She's experienced things like this on rare occasions but it's pretty rare she tries to pick up speed to evade the incoming car, she will send a signal to the local official medical is needed and as much as she hates to say it they might need to get the other racers off the track. She's got to catch up with Blue and put him out a commission.
Rubi-Kan Vagrants      "HAH!" It has to look good. Otherwise, Blue won't have any reason to believe the vendor is really in danger. Besides, he's a bobblehead vendor, an ignoble profession if ever there was one. A little peril is okay. Bercilak speeds up, weaving in and out of traffic with one hand on the steering, the other on the vendor. Firmly.

He manages to close distance with Blue at the start of the next lap, the brutalist angles of his heavily armored bike growing ever larger in the driver's rear view mirror. This time, it seems like Blue is being proactive in dealing with him. That's good--he enjoys a challenge.

Faced with an oncoming car and an innocent rider, Bercilak's only option is to evade. Thankfully, Chase's temporal deceleration slows the obstacle down enough to grant him ample room to maneuver. This, he does by braking and pulling the bike into a jump, carrying it over the slowed-down obstacle. Even so, the vendor is injured from Bercilak's rough handling, so that he might avoid worse injury.

This is where his part of the bargain comes into play. Nanites tend to the bruises, bumps, scrapes and cuts, making good on Bercilak's promise that no lasting harm would come to him. He beats a momentary retreat, flying further above the chaos to briefly have words with the vendor. He's got time. And even if he doesn't, that muscle car is hard to miss. Should the satisfaction of his compact cause him to miss his hunt, so be it. There will be another, for sure.

"I han mine repliaunce," he explains calmly. "Biloken thou a moment--espy thy werdes amended. Our covenant asaulen, I shalt see thee requited."

Flying the vendor to his original stall, he lands, unceremoniously dumping his passenger out before dismounting himself. Bercilak's axe materializes in his hand. He *does* make one false swipe, but it's just a jape--no injury or even a nick, not even a full swing. He even makes a hoot along with it, just for added impact. His real target is the ground, which he strikes, causing a split in the asphalt from which a sprout emerges. That sprout grows rapidly into a tree, and the tree within but a minute bears lemons.

They aren't just any lemons, however, and Bercilak obstinately insists upon the vendor's trying one. When he does, he'll see the value. For one, the skin is ridiculously easy to peel. For two, the pulp is barely noticeable, and the fruits are easily juiced just with a firm squeeze. And finally, the fruits themselves aren't at all as sour as lemons usually are. In fact, they're quite sweet, without losing the lemony flavor.

In essence, Bercilak has given this guy his own source of lemonade, genetically engineered to make the actual production thereof ridiculously easy. "Art thou in wantsum of cuppe or euer? Of is?" That last word he pronounces 'ice.' He will definitely go and get cups, ice and pitchers for this guy. If he asks. Let it not be said that the Green Knight doesn't honor his covenants, even when doing so would be a waste of time to anyone else.
Gawain Blue completely ignores Kotone's call for information. Chase's slowdown, meanwhile, can't be ignored - the vehicles start to slow down, and a few of the other drivers crash, damage blunted by not going at as-ridiculous speed, but still dangerous enough to leave them in the hospital.

Blue's reaction is to flip a switch on his dashboard. Smoke bursts out the rear end of the car, moving to fog up Chase's vision and try and force him and Kotone into crashes. Bercilak is ignored, except the fake swipe causes the briefest of jukes, but then he allows him to leave.

Instead, Blue tries to regain speed. It's simply not easy or really possible, so going around the track is impossible. The radio grows angry, as he flips another switch. Nitro - it's brief, but it'll allow him to perform his next stunt.

Blue, able to control his car despite speed differences as if he was simply one with it, drives straight towards one of the wrecked cars. When he gets there, he moves to angle his muscle car to launch off it...

And into the stands, where hopefully the slowdown is less effective, and where he can gain on his target. The civilian lives in the stands, those still bunkered down, are unceremoniously mowed down if they don't dive out of the way. Screams echo out.

"THERE HE IS!"

The radio blares, in an announcer's voice, as Blue suddenly moves to burst onto the track - in an attempt to land straight on top of another car's trunk and crash it into a wall. #33, red.
Kotone Yamakawa Things are getting bard as Blue pulls more and more things, and in horror, she watches as Blue goes after people who were just like she once was. She's angry now. She has a clear idea of what she's going to do now. Which starts with chasing him down. She has a plan and doesn't care too much about herself at this point, she won't go through the stands that might harm more people. She's pushing her bike as hard as it can go to catch up, so she can engage her plan. Where she will attempt to start launching freezer foam in an attempt to hinder his vehicle or if she gets it on his windscreen, hindering his vision.
Rubi-Kan Vagrants      The vendor made whole figuratively as well as literally, Bercilak hops astride his bike and enters into the race once more. The sounds of screams greet him as he flies back over the racetrack. Looking down, he spots the source--Blue.

"Yon rider thinken onli of avenging his own quelling. The furth of others be forgaren, should they stond in the wei." This careless behavior of Blue's was seen firsthand, when he knowingly attempted to dispatch the three bikers despite seeing Bercilak's apparently helpless charge. And now, he's putting the audience in danger, just to escape Chase's effort to save the other drivers. "Forthy shall I requite him, and take from him that which he so necligentli spreven!"

The judgement is made, and the verdict is death.

Bercilak swoops in after Kotone's foam hardens. Taking advantage of whatever blind spot she's able to create, Bercilak lifts his axe and swings it beneath the car's body. The enormous bearded axe is angled expertly past the wheel of the car. With all his strength, Bercilak heaves, attempting to catch the hook of the axe upon the inner side of Blue's wheel.

In essence, he's applying a combination of masterful precision and beastly strength to try and just rip the rear wheel off.

"Die afire and spinnen as did thy hostes, churl!"
Chase      Smoke is shot out at Chase in an attempt to obscure their vision and throw them off, which works, lowering their visibility rather dramatically. Driving in these conditions just isn't going to cut it, or perhaps they're just simply they want an easier way out that doesn't involve maneuvering their motorcycle. Whichever it is, a clawed hand produces a silver toy-like car, which is promptly inserted into the top of their gun to produce a new noise.

     Tune! Chaser Cobra!

The slight sound of slithering and hissing fills the air as a strange half shield with a prehensile tail end locks itself onto their arm and the side of their weapon. Thankfully, even if they can't see very well, the knowledge that Blue Spectre is probably still in front of them is enough for them to confidently and reliably extend the metal whip to grab on to the back of their vehicle.

Once the whip secures itself onto the enemy vehicle, Chase simply abandons his ride, letting it fall over and skid across the ground without a rider as he's now somewhat left at the mercy of the crazy driver's wild ride. They're sturdy enough to take it at least, weathering the onslaught of constant road abrasion as they finally work themselves up back on their two feet and begin pulling themselves closer, only to lose their balance again once they hit a ramp.

As they begin flying towards a stand full of people, the heavy gravity is instantly cut to allow as many people as possible to get out of the way.
Gawain A lot happens all at once. Kotone sprays down the freezer foam, Bercilak goes for the tire, and Chase speeds things back up and lassos on. The latter ends up saving a lot of lives, though there are still casualties.

As the tire goes up and the freezer foam hits the windshield, the car crashes into its target, and both smash into the wall. The other driver is thrown out, still alive, still conscious, but wounded. Blue...

His car is in shambles, yet Chase can see it from his perch. The helmeted driver slumps from a clearly lethal force, and then lurches back up. He forces his way through the door, and in the smoke and fire, starts approaching the wounded driver, brandishing a tire iron and with his other hand inside his jacket.

"Wait, wait, Kowalski?!" The racecar driver shouts at Blue, instantly recognizing his helmet. "How are you- please, spare me! I've- I've changed since then, I've cut from the mob, I've cleaned up my life! I'm sorry! I know I can't change what I did, but I'm sorry!"

Blue isn't listening.

He probably doesn't care.
Kotone Yamakawa The convergence of plans works out more of less at the end here. She brings her bike to a halt, she jacks out and gets off. The bike falls, but there are other things to worry about right now. She looks at the other two they are not Paladins that's for sure but they seem set to stop this. The driver spouts off a name she makes note of.

She will move to act she will move to get in between Blue his prey. She will then try to tackle him, if she gets ahold of Blue she is going to set off her body's integrated taser systems like some sort of electric eel.

"ENOUGH!"
Rubi-Kan Vagrants      Bercilak retrieves the axe, snatching it away from the car with the grace of a surgeon. With the one hand, he shoulders the enormous weapon, and with the other, pulls the bike into a turn so as to park it behind Blue's car. He stands--all seven feet, six inches--between Blue and his would-be prey. He didn't see the resurrection, but he has a feeling. Like recognizes like, and that crash would have killed a lesser man.

"Thou art undiinge. Undestroiable, per happes." He brings the axe to bear and lets it thud upon the ground. "Al be that, I have setten thou in a sai, and found thee wanting. Thou want not for voillaunce or craftihed--but muchly of attemprenesse. Thrice anau hast thou daungered the ungilti in thy avenging." He shakes his head, stepping slightly aside to allow Kotone her tackle.

Blue is the type not to listen unless he's forced to. It's good, then, that someone is trying to wrestle him to the ground. He looks over his shoulder at the other driver as if to say, 'run, stupid,' but it might be a bit hard to convey with that expressionless helmet on.

"Non-mo do I leven thereof--and be thou apprised: Bercilak, als, is undestroiable." It might be a boast. Then again, last time, Blue did run him over without his armor on, and all it seemed to do was rile him up. There was definitely more than one crack, when it happened. Bercilak is still, obstinately standing there, even as Kotone's tasers go off. "If thou would see thy wrakedom sated, mine enterfering forouten, then make we a covenant anau."

"Cease thou thy daungering of the ungilti, and non-mo shalt I enterfere. Stonden thee to my deming 'pon the quelling of the third, and I shalt even assist thee. Speke now thy ensent or refusing, wher-as-ever ensueth."
Chase      This much destruction to get to one man? Humans really are terrible. Though given that the driver got up after a crash that probably should have killed him, he probably isn't one. Or at least he isn't one any longer.

While everyone is busy dealing with Blue via talking and tasing, Chase decides to deal with the victim. A large surge of gravity is emitted from their body again to slow everything (and everyone) down, taking huge strides until they're standing in front of them.

He just silently stands there, looking down at the panic'd man before picking them up by the shirt. And tosses them.

     Far way.

There's more than enough force to injure the man when he eventually hits the ground. That's not a concern though, so long as they're alive.
Gawain Kotone starts tazing Blue. He's brought to the ground, as Bercilak makes a deal. Blue accepts, and...

In a burst of motion, moves to smash his tire iron into Kotone's side, in a non-lethal gesture - showing that he'll upkeep his side of the bargain.

But the slowdown affects him, and even as he forces her off him and himself back to his feet, the victim is gone, and as he goes to pursue, Chase can easily beat him due to his lack of speed whatsoever. He's not going to run or jump after him, instead...

Blue slowly returns to his smouldering car, gets in, and looks over his collection of switches. There's a new one.

FLY

Flipping the switch, the car takes off with a burst of thrusters, still on fire, and blasts through the air. Chase will be long gone with his target, but he'll keep hunting him. There's still three to go. But for now...he's been saved.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone is caught by the tire iron, there's a sound but it's not one of flesh being hit it's the sound of metal and synthetics and she goes down from the hit. Its enough for Blue to get to his car and escape now. She's also got a big concern too BErcilak has seemingly got bystanders off the menu. However, he's going to help Blue finish the hunt. This made things a lot more complicated but for now, she's going be trying to slowly get back up and call for medical aid. For the guy, Chase yeeted to safety.
Chase     There's a complete disregard for Kotone's medical call as Chase eventually makes his way to where the man he threw was, lifting him off the ground as the motorcycle he abandoned autopilots its way back to him.

Unfortunately there's no time for hospitals. There's also no time for apologies, as he throws the man onto his motorcycle and mounts up.

Revving the engine a few times, they eventually drive off, leaving a cloud of smoke behind them. Once they're far enough away, the crushing gravity and slow down vanishes.
Rubi-Kan Vagrants      Bercilak hefts his great bearded axe with one hand, shouldering the unwieldy weapon upon his shoulder with ease. The slowing field affects him just as much as it had Blue--at first. As he takes the first step towards his bike, his nanite cloud begins to compensate. The gravitation field is too intense to entirely mitigate, and the Green Knight is still slower than he'd otherwise be.

By the time Chase leaves, he's at his bike, though mounting up would have still been a slow affair. He fires up the bike's engine and flies off--in the same direction as Blue. He has a covenant to honor, after all.
