Archer EMIYA      A WHILE AGO:
A bit off the main city of Giga City and a bit into the ocean, one of the many small mining rigs goes about its business. Giant drills and conveyor belts dig up and package raw, unprocessed Force Metal into metal crates, with industrial grade Ride Armors being used to carry the loads into a designated shipping area.

The entire process is smooth, efficient, and very well thought out. That is until one of the workers seemingly go maverick, hijacking one of the Ride Armors and...

     NOW:
The entire mining facility is proverbially, and also quite literally on fire. The fine mining machinery was destroyed and stripped. Most of the workforce, outside of the few that managed to escape and send a distress signal in the first place, lie in charred pieces on the floor. Perhaps the most alarming thing though, is that the unknown Maverick seems to be moving the loads of raw Force Metal on to an unmarked boat, utilizing the very equipment they stole to make their task easier, their back turned to any oncomers.

The large seat of the Ride Armor sadly obstructs any view of their head, so the only visual indicator that someone is inside of the seat is a small person-sized cannon sticking out.
X The loud alarm ringing throughout Hunter HQ, combined with the red swirling lights, gives it an air of crisis. While various incidents they deal with are a day to day occurence, anything related to Giga City is a hotspot.

It's only natural, given that its the only place in the world that Force Metal can be mined. The research carried out there was top notch, the lead in the field concerning the mysterious mineral.

And especially with this rig's proximity to the off-shore, maximum security research and development center for conducting highly classified and particular experiments utilizing Force Metal, any kind of incident has to be stomped out with as much force as could be responded with. That's the Council's take on the matter, anyway.

"The only saving grace here is that the attack wasn't carried out at Gimialla Mine ..." Signas says, lowly, before turning his gaze to the three Operators manning their station. "Anything?"

Alia, the first to respond, dips her head in apology. "We're sorry, but our intelligence in Giga City is severely lacking ... for some reason, the Far East Headquarters isn't responding to our inquiry."

Clenching his fists tightly, Signas sighs deeply, "Then we don't have the authority for a full deployment ... no matter what the Council might say."

"Even so, we have to do something." X interjects, from the side. Signas nods in agreement, folding his arms. "Right. We can't afford to stall for a response from Redips any longer; X, move out! We'll supplement you with assistance from any Elite we can get ahold of."

Giga City was somewhere that only Reploids could live on a permanent basis, but humans were allowed into the city for work or limited visiting purposes; a policy that had gotten more open-ended ever since the intergration happened.

        "Got it!"

        NOW:

A beam of blue light falls from the sky onto the outer platform, materializing into X as he runs out, the blasted and burned bodies of reploid workers giving him pause. " ... !"

It was competely un-necessary, and not the work of an out of control lunatic. It was the kind of willful and malicious violence he detested the most. "How could they?!"

Dashing and jumping to quickly maneuver through the various rigging and catwalks down to where the Ride Armor was loading its stolen goods into boat, X levies his X-Buster at it and fires a volley of energy pellets its way to force it to drop its load. "Stop right there! You're not going to get away with this anymore!"
Xion Force Metal.

The power of Maverick Hunter X's ultimate abilities and armors, the dangerous and morphic alloy with mysterious catalytic properties, Force Metal had proven absolutely essential in the miracle of saving a Humagear from Magia infection.

And then Some Jackass decided to do a Big Kill, steal a bunch of the miracle metal, and cause big problems very on purpose.

Break X, red of armor and helmet, black of visor like a set of shades, with a black scarf and a targe-armshield of white and a levelled star-muzzle blaster, appears in a descending flash of red light, bursting through the cieling.

She doesn't even say 'stop' before she starts firing, the yellow flare of her plasma cannon making pchoom pchoom pchoom meaty, old-style animation blasts of light-bullets than the next-generation Variable Lemon System.

"You made it, X." Break X asides, a light smirk forming in the corner of her lips. "This is a thank you for yesterday. I knew what you did. I even brought a friend."

Break X turns her visored gaze back to the Ride Armor lunatic. "Because denying everyone the miracles of Force Metal is a grave sin."
Roxas Sometimes you just blunder into things, and get involved without really knowing the stakes. Other times, your best friend lets you know exactly what the stakes are and you come in with a perfectly clear head for what's to come. Today is one of the former days, where a troubling issue near to Roxas's fragmentary heart was solved with the use of exactly what's being stolen just now.

Standing in a plain of blue-black illumination and unclear roads, Roxas waits, and waits, and waits. He needs a clear exit point to go to, and while this place had plenty the specified location wasn't one of them in particular. So he waits, and waits, and waits.

Xion does her thing. A flash of red tears through the gloomy landscape, overlapping with the corridor and defining a path. It's not their usual approach, but it more than works.

With the black blade Roxas tears a hole in the fabric of the corridor that swirls into existence behind Xion. He doesn't pass through immediately, instead rearing back with both Black and White Keyblades and hurling them through the portal in advance. A sharp whistle issues as ~~Kanshou and Bakuya~~ Oathkeeper and Oblivion glide through the air, spinning towards the Ride Armor's sides in advance of Roxas tumbling in through the portal.

Whether they do damage or not as they scream along the Ride Armor's sides is entirely unclear to Roxas, who emerges from a dive with the weapons vanishing and reappearing in his hands, delivering a quick one-two cut towards the front of the machine and sparing a glance over his shoulder.

"Sorry for the abrupt introduction, but I'm Roxas. I think we've sort of met in passing," Roxas greets X, collapsing his two Keyblades together into a single silver-and-black weapon and offering an encouraging thumbsup to Break X.
Hibiki Tachibana     TODAY: Hibiki Tachibana gets to give thought to how much robot-fighting has transpired in recent times. The 'Noise' of her world are very much thoughtless killing machines, so the complexities getting even more complex of the situation she's gotten herself involved in gives her plenty to mull over. She thinks she's getting there, though. More or less. Thinking too hard about it won't get her anywhere, as long as she keeps her ideals. She has to believe that.

ALSO TODAY: Hibiki Tachibana picks up a distress signal and a request for assistance from the Hunters, and has to do something about a Reploid gone Maverick. It keeps happening.

Though she only realizes that by the time she's approaching the scene, having had to transform at Giga City's coastline and use her Symphogear to boost across the ocean's surface and reach the mining rig. She's never visited the kind of world(s) that X frequents, but any thoughts for sightseeing will have to wait for another day. The sight of smoke and fire pouring off the trashed facility only urges her to push herself harder. "Who...?"

The state of things by the time she flips up onto the edge of the rig is even worse, with the destroyed workers and looted infrastructure more than enough to get her to dip her head and clench her teeth as she pushes forward. Hibiki joins in on calling to X alongside Break X (possibly pronounced Break Cross). "Needed some help!?"

Lacking a cool and bulky arm gun of her own, the nevertheless armored up magical girl settles for turning her run's momentum into a bajiquan-style shoulder tackle straight into the Ride Armor to try and knock it off balance before pushing off and stancing herself up nearby. "...Well, it looks like you had plenty already." Yesterday, huh? Her words are directed towards the Ride Armor and its occupant after. "This is pretty /excessive/ for some theft, whoever you are!"
Archer EMIYA Yellow energy pellets slam into the back of the Ride Armor as its busy loading in its ill gotten goods into the ship, making black scorched marks and a piddly 'dink' noise on its armor plating as it slowly turns around, the driver letting out a laugh as he does so.

"But I /AM/ getting away with it, X! You're the real prize of this job, after all."

With a front view, the identity of the driver is clear to X. A reploid clad in purple armor with no visible face, a belt fed cannon strapped to their shoulder. A true machine of war.

It's Vile!

His reunion speech is cut short however as Break X shoots more menacing lemons at Vile's stolen Ride Armor, causing the machine to take a step back to brace itself.

"Back up!?"

Before he can push the mech back forward for a counter attack, Roxas suddenly appears, throwing blades that glance across the machine's sides, before delivering a dual slash to the machine's front. Metal armor tears, revealing the inner workings of the machine. That said, it's an industrial machine, so the inner workings aren't some delicate mess, it's all stupidly thick cables and pistons.

"This is a joke! Where's your real Hunter buddies?"

Hibiki, not having a GUN or COOL SWORDS, decides to throw herself into the machine, causing it to topple all the way back into the boat it was loading the Force Metal into.

With no clear weapons other than clasping hands, Vile has to get creative. Boss creative. The crates it had been previously loading are turned into improvised projectiles as the massive machine picks them ups and hurls them at the group, before it suddenly dashes forward.

Clawed hands attempt to grasp around and crush the Blue Maverick Hunter, all while Vile laughs.

Because of course he laughs.
X     "You're..!"

What had Xion said that form was based off of? Break Man, that was it -- that'd make this Break X, instead of Shine X. 'Pronounced Key'.

X's green eyes widen, before he nods in appreciation, his lips turning upwards briefly in the ghost of a smile, "Then, I'll accept your help gladly. Roxas, Xion ... let's give it all we've got!"

Pleasantries for a proper introduction to the former would have to wait, as X turns his attention back to the Ride Armor, with Hibiki having dived straight into close-quarters with it. It was a simple civillian use model rather than a military one, but it was still incredibly powerful. "Hibiki, look out!"

Given how ineffectual his buster shots were, X intends to switch strategies -- as the Ride Armor reveals its pilot. " -- Vile?! What are YOU doing here ... !"

The intense violence used in the theft made complete sense, now. It was just the kind of maniac that the purple reploid fighting them happened to be. Scum who just liked the feeling of hurting people.

X raises his arm cannon and attempts to use his dash boots to quickly speed away, but the Ride Armor's jet thrust dash is faster, and X cries out in agony as the claws grip his body and squeeze forcefully, crushing his weaponized arm to his side. His bright blue armor can be seen cracking under the strain. "G...gh....!"

X's face twists in pain and determination as he struggles, pushing against the tight iron grapple. Force Metal energy blasts out of X's back and smashes the Ride Armor's claw as he shoots up into the air from the sudden propolusion, dropping his booted heel down ontop of Vile's exposed helmet in a powerful kicking maneuver, the Force Metal going inert moments after activation, only having been brought out long enough to give X his chance at escape. The blue bomber kicks off of the Ride Armor, a green bolt of half-charged Buster shot hurtling at the cockpit.

"Are you trying to say you did this to draw me out?!"
Xion Break X, the scarlet defender of truth, justice, and the plasma cannon way, sidestrafes while continuing to fire, dash-jet equipped boots anachronistic for the older-style armor.

"I am his real buddy." Break Man smirks, buster-arm glowing white-hot for a moment--

As a crate flies towards them. "The force metal?!" She gasps, shield coming down as she reaches to accept the crate, even thrown as it is, and get smeared into the warehouse floor with a shower of sparks as she brings it to a stop.

"I'm done giving your choices, purple." Xion grunts, shouldering the box and rising. As she does, the box de-rezzes into black voxels with all of its contents, disappearing physically.

"Choices about how to act. Choices about what to touch. People who won't choose care don't keep getting chances to choose."

The line of yellow markers across her buster-cannon fill black, and her shot surges with inky lines of smoke. "W Gear."

Bringing up her weapon, she slams it down in a move reminiscent of a Crash or Corridor-type attack, the darkness surging out to replace floor, wall, and cieling of the warehouse. All the contents -- cargo containers filled with Force Metal, or even assorted goods and knicknacks -- disappear in the same way as the thrown crate had, inventory'ed en-masse.

"The miracle metal is ours. Malice doesn't get to choose."

The all-covering darkness snaps off the wall like shipping plastic, re-focusing like drawn ink towards the muzzle of her buster.

"X-Zone W-Power!"

The bass-garbled b-choom of her Buster shot aims to continue her inventory'ing spree, and claim Vile's Ride Armor for another line-item and out from under him.
Roxas // Where's your real Hunter buddies? //

Roxas spins his Keyblade in an almost nervous gesture, staring at the colossus he just attacked. He's not surprised that the damage was limited, even if he did manage to scratch it up a little. The truth is, he's used to fighting things much bigger than he is. It seems like no matter where he goes, he runs into the rough equivalent of giant Heartless and Heartless tornadoes. In this specific case, though...

He's really not sure what to compare Vile to.

Crates start getting hurled in convenient TEMPLATE patterns, and Roxas reacts by jumping into them like a lunatic. The first impact is rough, leg-jarring. His bones feel momentarily like turning to jelly and the vibration numbers his feet. Once he takes a step forward and begins to run, he manages to shrug off -- for the moment -- the immediate effects of such a jarring impact.

He pings back and forth between hurled crates, and pauses momentarily on one in the middle as he estimates where Vile is going, what he's doing, and--

And Xion just gets hit straight-on with a crate.

A heartbeat later Roxas is still just straight-up standing sideways on a flying crate, and makes brief eye contact with Xion, who is Done With This Crate business. Understanding the trick that she's almost certainly about to pull, he pushes off as the crate's rotation puts him at a good angle.

His boots touch down on the edge of Vile's ride armor, just before Xion's attempted INVENTORY THEFT of it. Roxas spins his keyblade about, hooks it downwards, and attempts to hook and launch Vile skywards, leaping simultaneously to get out of the way of INVENTORY BEAM.

"You guys doing okay?!" Roxas calls from the sky, twisting about with more motion and mobility than he should really have in freefall.
Hibiki Tachibana     Without BUSTER or KEYSWORD, Hibiki has only her own hands to defend herself against the Force Metal-laden crates turned weapons. Which to be honest isn't a bad thing at all. And it means rather than something more destructive, she can just stand in the path of the incoming storage container.

And throw her empty hands forward to catch it. The velocity that Vile's Ride Armor threw it at plus its contents mean she ends up sliding back several meters as her fingers dig into the crate, until she skids to a stop and turns her body to slam it down with a grunt of effort and a heavy thud. "Rgh...quick to toss these off...I'm fine!" She calls back to both X and Roxas while spinning back and raising her fists, facing down the Maverick, letting the intact crate get safely inventory'd by Xion.

The real prize? Wait, was this just to lure him here...?

"...You better watch yourself, too! You're the one he's after!" And Hibiki doesn't waste any time dashing back in to close the distance lost again, happy to take on the role of 'engaging a Megaman boss in close range without i-frames'. X and Xion's reactions, the terrible state that the facility and all of the Reploids in it have been left in...

...She'd be lying if she said she wasn't mad about it, too. That ire pushes her on faster, until she gets close enough to spring up in a jump. Mid-leap, her leg armor's pistons shift and extend out behind her.

Hibiki spins herself up in an upwards kick intent to slam into Vile's chin (or rather, his helmet's chin), doing her part to also launch Vile up and away when the pistons slam back in on contact to release a powerful shockwave of raw force.
Archer EMIYA "Lure you out specifically? Please, don't flatter yourself, X! I was hired to do a job. I just knew a bleeding heart idiot like you couldn't stop from shoving their nose where it didn't belong. Gotta say though, I was expecting your boyfr-"

Vile is cut off, mid dialogue, by X firing a half charged X-Buster. He ducks into the cockpit at the last minute, though this doesn't stop the charged energy pellet from destroying some of the armor's interior. He pops his head out again to gloat once more, but...

Then his Ride Armor is gone, or rather in the process of being taken into the inky void of Xion's bottomless pockets. Ride Armors like this are too slow to dodge, they can only face tank.

There's an almost audible hiss that comes from the purple maverick before he's suddenly sent careening upwards by Roxas's launcher, as Hibiki follows up with a one two kick that sends them falling all the way back down with the force of a small caliber bullet.

If this were dirt, there'd surely be a dirt cloud right now. The ground is metal though, so the only thing that happens is that the plated floor cracks and contorts, leaving Vile embedded in a crater that he slowly climbs out.

His armor is cracked, and one of his legs seems weirdly split open... That seems to be intentional though, given a round grenade fires out of it towards X at high speeds.

He then turns to Xion, his hand pointed at them as his hand shifts into a gun that fires a flurry of bullets at them.

"Good job taking my armor, idiots. But if you thought these guns were just for show, you have another thing coming."

Then, turning to Roxas and Hibki, Vile aligns his shoulder cannon, unloading several high powered energy shots at them as he tries to shoot them out of the air.
Xion As the ride armor peels away in space around Vile and he's heaved out, Xion's eyes glance towards X.

They share a nod.

<J-IC-Scene> Xion says, "These sorts of people... If they're already lost to malice and hate, they can score points by being 'the person who defeats the legendary' and fill-in-the-blank."

The finishing of her thought, her private moment, is shared only here, quietly, over the arm cannon fire and shine of Special Techniques and flashing blades: "I'd rather fill in a blank with something good, not something painful."

Scatterings of rapid-fire shots scatter across the breadth of Break X's shield, visor visible behind the windowed gap of the shield as she endures the momentary onslaught.

"I... didn't think that. Do people think that about you? Abuse you? Even if you're a ghost... It's painful to abuse yourself. Awful. Just stop it. You can. I promise."

She's not really talking at Vile. Her words really are meant for a different super fighting robot.

"If you don't have anything to feel good about -- then I'll share what little I have."

Xion lifts her arm cannon, the fill meter switching from inky black to two-tone eggshell blue and auburn. Levelling her arm cannon, she charges up another shot -- but when it fires, the weapon sighs and flutters, the star-shaped blasts fired out like seeking and arcing lazy cupid-bow arrows which still almost-inerringly strike Vile where his heart would be.

It feels like the pounding heart of a first crush. The lip-chapping burn of nervous-positive anxiety. A trembling, soft, gentle love, felt fiercely.
Roxas Caught mid-air by an opponent who had already reached the ground, Roxas twists and pulls at the hilt of his keyblade. It separates out again into the pair he appeared with originally, black-and-white. They're crossed defensively in front of him, a brilliant sunset-orange X flashing across their joined face. The cannon shot crashes against the X, holds for an uncomfortably long time, and then manages to GUARD BREAK through. Roxas's grip on his weapons is compromised, and each of them go flying off into the water in separate directions.

Roxas himself ALSO falls back towards the water, but while two splashes follow -- not heavy enough to be a person -- the third never comes. There is a strange billowing sound, instead. If somebody were to look over into the water they'd be just in time to see a swirling black portal irising in on itself and closing.

The swirling black portal reappears at Vile's flank, and Roxas -- who is /still technically falling/ -- hurtles up out of it, his weapons once again recombined. There's a smoky, singed quality to his appearance, and he's neither dual-wielding or wearing his coat anymore. Once again he uses his now-singular keyblade as a hook, drawing it about in a curious rotational manner intended to force Vile up against him.

This would seem like a Very Flirty Thing To Do in casual circumstances, but in this specific context Roxas is using his free arm to force his scorched and slightly damp-at-the-bottom longcoat over Vile's head with every intention of depriving him of clear lines-of-sight.

The hooking Keyblade is banished immediately, and Roxas kicks back to get out of the way of what he suspects could well be an incredibly erratic violent response if what he's doing accomplishes what he intends it to.
Hibiki Tachibana     With everyone coming together to remove Vile from his big bad Armor, Hibiki has enough time to give Roxas a nod as they both maneuver through the sky, the leg she delivered her kick with emitting a burst of hissing steam. That was pretty good.

Vile definitely does have guns though, which she learns about in very short order. The large blasts from the shoulder cannon rocket through the air up at her, and she fires off a burst from her Symphogear's skirt thrusters to spin out of the way of the first. She ends up careening right into another one though, rushing to cross her arms in front of herself as the force sends her flying back. Once again without any I-frames unfortunately, as a couple others keep on going to land squarely and obscure her in a cloud of smoke.

This cloud is cut through a moment later by a blade of yellow light in the vague shape of a crescent, parting it to reveal Hibiki having launched the kick responsible. It comes down fast not to cut into Vile, but to explode on contact and open up his guard - her releases of Gungnir's internal energy aren't anywhere near focused enough for anything more than that.

Though it's arguable if it needs to be, as Hibiki is boosting back down through the sky right on its trail on a straight path towards Vile. "Whatever your reasons, or whatever your problem with X is--that doesn't give you an excuse to do all of this! Who hired you!?" Reinforcing her angry question is her fist.

A fist with her gauntlet's piston pulling back and slamming in on contact similar to her kick from before, to put him into a crater in the metallic ground. You know. Again.
X     "Big talk, for someone always playing second fiddle!"

Biting back as he backflips, X's frown is palpable, even as Vile's stolen Ride Armor sinks into the void of Xion's inventory. "I'm good to keep going!" he calls back to Roxas, squaring his stance as the smoke clears. His head was significantly cooler after Xion pulled him back, letting the maverick hunter focus on planning his next course of action in the brief lull, as short as it was.

<J-IC-Scene> Roxas thoughtfully, "Is he a ghost? Ghosts can keep going from being too angry."

You think this is over!? I'll haunt you until the day you die!

His X-Buster hums as he begins charging energy. "That body ... it's brand new! Don't tell me, it's equipped for Force Metal use ... "

The purple menace was like a wound that wouldn't heal, a scab that never quite went away. No matter how many times he thought he'd buried his old foe, he always managed to resurface. He was tenacious that way, similar, X supposed, to Sigma himself.

Maybe Roxas hadn't been too off the mark, earlier.

While everyone else was under assault by Vile's deadly cannonade, X was left to contend with one of his familiar leg-fired mortars. Coiling his legs, X jumps high into the air, the explosion engulfing him on his flight and sending him hurtling even higher than he'd originally intended. Another half-charged bolt of green energy flies at Vile, alongside a volley of smaller yellow energy bullets from a rapid fire bombardment of buster shots.

The hot buster is already gathering energy once again as X comes down, flipping himself around in the air to land behind Vile and charge.

    W A R N I N G

The bright red beam muffler billows behind him as he suddenly speeds up, intent on decking Vile right across the face with his fist, having flew past Roxas like a torpedo to do so, and immediately follows the attack with a rising kick under his armored chin right alongside Hibiki's punch, with the hope of sending him straight into the air as X raises his X-Buster, charged to the maximum, plasma and Force Metal energy spilling out of the barrel.

Both Roxas and Xion, despite the nature of their situation, did their best. It was a stark contrast, when she'd dragged him off to eat Nachos, to when Vile had confronted him at that bar.

"Vile .. a reploid is more than a weapon! Our 'purpose' is simply to live in the way we see fit! Vile ... "

    "YOU'RE WRONG!"

The X-Buster Fires, heaving as it releases a massive orb of energy, a blue as bright as a sunny sky, wrapped in the chaotic red swirl of Force Metal energy.
Archer EMIYA "Stop? Stop!? Why would I want to stop? This is what I was made for. This is the only joy that a Demon like me gets!"

Xion's super special awesome star blaster pelts into Vile's torso, as he isn't nimble enough to get out of the way. He's made of guns and armor, not boosters and wheels.

He stumbles back, enough that he's completely caught off guard by Roxas teleporting behind him to send him flying into the air, the hooking motion of his keyblade actually producing enough cutting force to leave a gash in his armor. His sight is immediately hampered by their cloak, but it doesn't really matter, as soon Hibiki shows up to ask him a question...

And then immediately delivers a bone shattering punch to Vile that sends him meteoring downwards. Good thing Reploids don't have bones.

X, no longer playing games, kicks Vile back into the air only to unleash a charge shot as a follow up.

Visuals on his body are completely lost as he's consumed in the blast, but once it subsides, there's a loud splash, followed by an explosion as the boat that Vile had been loading stuff on suddenly self-destructs.

Almost ominously, the only thing left after the battle besides the destroyed mining base and piles of dead reploids, is a battered and burnt purple helmet.
X Breathing out, steam pours off the barrel as X lowers the buster, allowing both it and his hand to fall to his sides as Vile is consumed in the blast. Moments afterwards, another explosion rocks the mining rig as the escape vehicle Vile had prepared goes up in smoke, too, and takes what had been loaded onto it with it. "Nn!"

Shuddering from the force and heat, X stares into the flaming wreck with a frown marring his face. The Force Metal destroyed there couldn't be recovered ... it was a finite resource, after all, having come from space. Whatever the cause, it'd struck a deadly cut into the potential applications and research by damaging the limited stock of ore required to make the refined modules.

But their destruction, at least, was better than them falling into more nefarious hands. Vile was never one to act alone, and he'd admitted as such here -- someone had hired him to come attack this place and steal its raw Force Metal ore.

With his X-Buster deactivating, the blue clad hunter reaches down and grasps onto the only thing left that his eyes could catch ... that cracked, burnt purple helmet floating listlessly in the waves.

He couldn't help but feel like it was laughing at him.

" .... Thank you, everyone, for coming to fight. If it had just been me, I'm not sure if I could have won."

X turns towards them, gratefully, bowing slightly.

" ... this gives me a bad feeling, though."

Why didn't the Far East HQ respond? They still hadn't sent anyone to check the situation out, and if no one came to secure the rig soon, then it'd have to be abandoned. Anything could happen to the remains, at that point.
Xion Xion, her Break Man armor disappearing from her t-shirt-and-flannel-shirt-around-waist-with-jeans outfit and leaving just her, holds out her hand to help X up.

"Sure you could have. I'm just glad to have made it less expensive. Helping people, who help people... Isn't that a better purpose than hurting people who hurt people?"

She smiles kindly.

Then the omake eyes turn on as she blink-blinks. "So where should I put the other forty-six crates of force metal that I've got? It'll take a while to empty it out, because it got stored as forty-six crates, and then forty-six... crates... full of force metal, look, I've got a lot of stuff in there. Okay?"

"Wanna work it out at your base? Let's get burgers on the way, everyone."
Hibiki Tachibana     X delivers the Final Blow, and Hibiki stands up out of the kneel she was left in after her attack to watch Vile vanish within the smoke. She's not sure of the results of it until the splash, though that's quickly replaced with the heavy explosion from the nearby boat that she has to brace herself against, lifting an arm up to shield her face in response.

    "...Damnit..."

Cursing softly to herself, she steps over slowly towards the edge of the rig, looking off towards where she thought she heard Vile (or his remains?) come down. There's a frown on her face beneath her Symphogear's scarf, in a confused-sad sort of fashion. It leaves a strange taste in her mouth, fighting a machine different from the Roidmudes and Humagears who was totally reveling in what he was doing. Maybe she'll ask X or Xion for more of a history lesson sometime.

Speaking of the others, she turns around as the helmet is retrieved, towards X. When he bows, she sort of just rubs at the back of her neck. "...Don't mention it. I'm glad to help...even if I wish we could have made it sooner." She looks back towards the wreckage of the rig. Man.

Hibiki does, however, blink back at Xion with some surprise. "Oh. So that's what you did. You...moved all the metal." Blink. Looks like the boat going sky-high wasn't as bad as she would have thought. "Burgers sounds...good. I want to learn more about all of this, anyway. Uh--if you don't mind." She looks towards X, a little tenatively.
Roxas Roxas lands from his push-off several yards away, bringing his combined keyblade about in preparation for another deflecting parry. But the moment he's waiting for never comes. He raises his arm high to shield his eyes from the explosion, the heat of it licking at him from a distance. Once it's over, he lowers his arm and turns his attention towards Hibiki, X, and Xion.

He strides over alongside them, mentally sorting through his inventory in search of a replacement jacket. As he walks, his appearance flickers rapidly as he sorts between them, like a character in an MMO rapidly clicking through specific pieces of gear as they move.

There is a... nice blazer, which is now much too small for him. Roxas cringes and banishes it immediately. A sweater that's too heavy follows, accompanied by a scarf that apparently is always just sorted with it. Nope, not that either.

He winds up wearing a red hoodie with a distinctive symbol on the back, purchased from Mog. It's absolutely not goods confiscated from a Reaper for nonpayment.

"I'm glad," Roxas says to X, finally answering his admission of still being good to go.

"Hey," he says to Hibiki, gesturing one-handed to draw attention his way. "Timing's the hardest thing to get right in an emergency. Just on time is just on time, even if it's not ideal."

Having said this, Roxas strides up alongside Xion. He leans over a little ways, inspecting her Quite Obviously for damage because he saw her EAT A SHIPPING CONTAINER IN THE FACE. Evidently satisfied with the particulars, he leans back, shoves his hands in the pockets of his Reaper Hoodie, and says, "I want the biggest pile of disgusting fries we can get. And onion rings."

A glance is cast towards X. "Does this place even have food we can eat? I can open us a portal if we need one."
X X smiles sheepishly after taking Xion's hand and being helped up. " ... yeah, you're right."

His expression quickly turns to one of shock as she reveals that she managed to actually save a lion's share of the Force Metal through the same ability she used to snatch up the Ride Armor, "T..that's great! In that case, the loss of Force Metal ore should be minimal ... I'm sure Signas wouldn't mind clearing you all for entry to HQ to sort things out."

It went without saying, but besides government inspectors, humans typcially weren't allowed into the Far Eastern HQ. If they could even get into it, with the radio silence that had fallen over them.

"Especially since you all stuck your neck out, I don't mind answering any questions as best I can." he says to Hibiki, before turning back to Xion and Roxas, rubbing the back of his neck. "Humans aren't permitted permanent residence in Giga City, but, there's still plenty of places in town for them to eat, shop, and rest at. It shouldn't be hard to find something in town you'd like to eat, but if you have somewhere you'd prefer, then that's fine too."
Roxas "Nah. Most of our restaurant portals open up next to a Denny's, and this isn't a Denny's kind of mood," Roxas replies, drifting lazily from side to side as he walks. He seems to consider something for a handful of moments before raising a hand with index finger extended, gesturing pointedly at X and confidently declaring, "Not human, by the way. The way some of them have been talking lately, I'm pretty sure I don't want to be one, either."
Xion Xion, who just fully equipped the power of Break Man totally enough to, while she had been doing so, 'scan as a fully android person', frowns.

"Well *I'm* human. They can't take that away from me because they're terrible people. You too, X. I know a place - hope you like melted cheese and onion rings!"

A yawning portal of sworling purples, sanguines, and blacks open behind her which shakily resolves into an Extremely Villain Coded hole to CHUCK'S CHOPHOUSE BURGERS AND FRIES OPEN TWENTY FOUR HOURS A DAY with a big cowboy hat on the fading neon of the sign.
Hibiki Tachibana     Hibiki glances to Roxas briefly when he speaks towards her, and though she doesn't respond right away, the look on her face is a thoughtful one, so she's definitely considering what he says. "...Yeah. You're right." A nod comes after, as if to reinforce that.

And now that the fighting is over, she disables her transformation in a burst of sudden light, returning to her jacketed casual while she regards X. "Thanks. I didn't know if it was a sore subject or anything, but that guy was a piece of work...I probably have a couple things I should get around to asking you, too," she adds on, towards Xion.

At least she's not the only person who's (biologically, you're a real boy, X) human here. That'd be weird. Probably. She completely takes Xion's word for it at face value. The Extremely Villain Coded portal of Darkness TM gets her to squint for a moment, but the fact it leads off to a place like this makes it okay. Nowhere that leads to burgers could be bad.
Roxas "I don't think of it as a bad thing," Roxas says to Xion, circling around in front of her to walk backwards and talk to her in particular. "Didn't think you did, either. Is that something I shouldn't throw away?"

His tone is casual, but conflicted all the same.

He catches the expression on Hibiki's face and grins. "Realm of Darkness. But dark's not all bad. You need a little bit of it. Just a pinch."

Illustratively, he summons the black Keyblade from before, and banishes it again.
X Nodding his head and glancing at the helmet in hand before closing his eyes, X softly disagrees with Roxas, "I think you're a human in every way that counts."

Turning, he chucks the helmet out to sea, before following after the others. He didn't have to carry that weight, he could just ... let it go. It was alright to let it be.

" ... it is," he admits to Hibiki, "but it's better to talk about it, I think. Maybe. I'm not sure."

Melted cheese and onion rings, though, that's the ticket. He liked the feeling of those nachos from before, and that had melted cheese -- but otherwise, trying something new would be nice, after that harrowing battle.
Hibiki Tachibana     "Just a pinch, huh?" Hibiki tilts her head, observing the Keyblade that Roxas presents. After a second of some kind of internal acknowledgement of something or another, she nods with the slightest grin back to his own. "...I think can live with that."

To prove such, she starts moving towards the portal in question.

Back to X as she goes, having noticed but not made mention of him casting the helmet back out, "For what it's worth, I think it might be. I think. I guess we'll see." Over burgers. When's the last time she had one, actually...?
Xion "I feel like..."

Xion says that weird, as she steps through the portal with everyone. Calories await. She's smiling -- anticipating a good time.

"Throwing away something because it's scuffed and dirtied by other people treating it roughly... Isn't a good thing. I'd like to be treated well, even on my worst days."
Roxas "My body is mostly human. My mind is... human adjacent," Roxas replies to X. He returns his hands to his pockets and resumes walking correctly. "I'm missing some parts. I used to be really fearful of that, but..."

He takes a deep breath and sighs heavily. "I really like Lilian, but the idea that I'd be upset over Xion having other friends doesn't make sense to me. It's not something I want. Anyway, I understand what you mean. Thanks for your support!"

He steps through the portal and forward, reaching the unwieldy and pointlessly heavy doors that ALL of these styles of steakhouses have. Roxas tugs the first set of doors open, standing aside to let the others head on through.

"Actually, it's more than a pinch. Most people can't live without their darkness. It governs stuff like... very powerful motivation, I guess," he explains to Hibiki, but the concept seems to confuse him a little.

Finally his attention pivots back to Xion. Roxas doesn't look convinced exactly, but she can tell immediately that she picked up and jabbed a weak point in his mind with a stick a few times with that statement. "Ah... yeah, you're probably right about that. Still... I really can't believe the way 'they' work sometimes."
X "Perhaps," he acquiesces to Xion, "I didn't discard him, though. As much as he bothers me, Vile will always be intertwined with my history."

As much as even Sigma, even.

" ... But that doesn't mean I have to carry that history like an anchor. I don't have to ruminate on it, or let it control me."

    "I can let it go."

Nodding to Roxas, Xion, and Hibiki X turns to face the burger joint with his face slowly creeping into a small smile. Almost reticent to do so at first, he reaches up, and disengages his own helmet with a pneumatic hiss. Pulling it off the top of his noggin reveals an impossibly spiky mane of darkly colored hair.

    "Let's ... 'hang out'."
Xion "Huh?" Xion asks, bustling into a burgery steakhouse while bouncing on her sneakers. "Oh, no, that guy sucked. He was basically just a heartless trying to hurt everyone. You did the right thing, I think. I meant... That I'd rather think of everyone as people, and not worry about what race they are. That way always leaves someone upset and left out... and when you do that, and they try to get involved, it'll be painful."

Hibiki's 'revelation' gets a laugh. "Well, it's worth a lot, right? You're a good person!"

Laughter and smiles return. There are C A L O R I E S and T E X T U R E to consume.
Roxas "You're not used to this, are you?" Roxas asks X, leading the way to Being Seated and, for that matter, to ordering an absolute pile of garbage. He fixes X with a deeply thoughtful expression, and adds, "Somebody told me once that the stuff you wear informs a lot about you. A lot of choices go into it. I guess things are a bit different for you, but..."

"You should try just not wearing the helmet as much, if you can. Helmets mean you're expecting danger," he offers advice, genially.
Hibiki Tachibana     More than a pinch...kind of like how Roxas himself seems, Hibiki doesn't entirely understand it, but she thinks she gets the gist of it. "...That makes sense. I guess I had a lot of darkness, once. I don't think I'd have called it a good thing. It's not like it's gone, but...the way it motivates me is a lot better, I think," she says carefully, as if she's not really sure of that herself. She sounds like she might be talking to herself more than him at the end, but shakes it off after a moment before she introspects too hard.

The smell of a burger joint makes her realize that she was actually really hungry, probably because they just got done with a fight. She finds her seat and promptly orders not just one but three burgers with sides and a tall soda, raising an eyebrow to Xion like she's surprised. "You think...? I'm just doing whatever comes natural. You're working really hard for what you think is right, too. Standing up for it."

This isn't the first time she's seen X without his helmet either, but she nods in agreement with Roxas' advice to wear it less. Not really for the 'danger' reason, though. "I think you look pretty good with it off," she says entirely straightforwardly. "...It's probably so messy because you keep it cooped up all the time."
X Scratching his cheek, X momentarily averts his gaze, before meeting Roxas' look, " ... no, I'm not." he admits.

Expecting danger? He supposed that was true. It was rare for him to take his helmet off, and when he did, he always kept it close at hand. He'd never given it that much thought, but since it'd been brought up, the idea of leaving it behind for a day on the town left him horribly uneasy. What if something happened?

He wouldn't be able to contact Hunter HQ, or them contact him. He wouldn't be at one hundred percent if he had to fight.

Steepling his fingers, X orders a single burger with fries, and a soda pop. Since it was the fizziest, a root beer.

"Cooped up? ... I guess so. I've never had to really take care of it."

This brings on a revelation that has him touching his chin, muttering to himself, "Is Zero's hair messy under /his/ helmet too? But he takes care with what sticks out the back...."

It was a connundrum for the ages.

"Oh, but, if you had any questions, ask away."
Hibiki Tachibana     Hibiki tilts her head in curiosity at X's consideration over Zero's luscious locks, the inner enigma she will perhaps one day share herself if she ever meets the Maverick Hunter's partner going unknown to her. For now, she simply folds her arms where she sits.

"Well..." She can think of a couple. Her brow furrows. "...That Vile guy. He used to be a Maverick Hunter. One of your guys, right? What's a 'Maverick', exactly?" She has a pretty good idea already, but wants to hear X's explanation directly after all of that.

She continues after a brief pause. "...And...what happened between you and him? You said that hurting people is just 'how he is'. Was he always like that?"
Roxas "Try it out. You don't have to just leave your gear behind or anything," Roxas reassures X, waving a hand and picking out a particularly messy onion ring to pluck out of the bunch. "When I want to do that, I just put it all in a backpack. I can store a lot of stuff just... away, though, so maybe our cases aren't entirely the same."

He illustrates his point be summoning and banishing his Keyblade repeatedly as if flipping a lightswitch, stopping on the fifth go around.

Roxas has ordered two drinks-- a root beer and an orange cream soda, along with a request for a separate glass. Once this is delivered he pours about half of each drink into the empty glass, combines what remains of the half-a-drinks in the orange cream soda glass, and pushes the other GESTALT SODA towards Xion.

To Hibiki, he says, "The normal amount is 'basically half'. Half light, half darkness. The balance can be a bit different. Orrrr if you're a little broken you can just be one or the other. It does weird things to the way you think. Basically, don't worry about it, we won't use the darkness when it would be unsafe for you."

Coming back to X, he asks, "Why've you got an all-robot city, anyway? Is it just built where it's hard for humans to live?"
Xion Xion, who orders the western burger with extra everything, spends time arguing with the person taking her order about her waffle-cut fries.

"So there's an onion ring in the western burger."
The clerk nods. "Yes."
"I'd waffle fries in it."
The clerk shakes their head. "Can't do that."
Xion nods. "Okay. I'd like the onion ring on the side. Can you do that?"
The clerk nods.
"And I'd like some more onion rings."
The clerk nods.
"And an order of waffle fries."
The clerk nods.

Xion leans in. "Now listen very carefully. I still want the onion ring in the burger. On the cheese. Melting and covered with sauce."

The clerk shakes their head. "You can't put the fries on the burger."

Xion, defeated, slumps in front of the counter.

"Extra sauce please."

The clerk nods. "Western burger no onion rings, onion and waffle on the side, extra sauce."

Xion slides into the booth next to roxas, utter defeat on her face and cherry cola on her tray.

She begins unwrapping her burger, and then starts hoverhand disassembling her burger to add the fries and extra sauce between patty one and two, the operation taking a full suite of gravitic control powers and a tongue-chewing concentration.

"Choosing to care and be nice makes you good. Dark and light's just metaphysics stuff. Oo! Which flavor is this?" Xion asks, leaning over and swapping her cherry soda for Roxas' offering and taking a long draw.

Her eyes cross. "Wow! The orange cream here is really good!" She beams, holding it out to X and Hibiki.
X     X frowns.

It's the kind of frown you get when you say the wrong thing to someone; but, he doesn't mean to look at her that way. Folding his arms, X considers how to answer her question, "Originally, the term was used for mechaniloids who would go berserk due to errors in their logic circuits. After several violent incidents of Reploid violence, it became a term appended to them."

"Most people recognize it as being a Reploid or Mechaniloid that've been affected by the Sigma Virus; but these days, its mostly just in reference to criminal Reploids."

X's food sits untouched, briefly, as he takes a drink from his root beer. Maybe a backpack of some kind wouldn't be a bad idea? He couldn't really 'store' things like Roxas had showed he could do with his keyblade, or Xion with the Force Metal crates, but surely he wouldn't need to carry that much on him.

The feeling of the carbonated beverage fizzing on his tongue was pleasant. Like a kind of 'spicy' foam.

"Oh, Giga City is built on top of a meteorite that had crashed into the ocean .. since this is where most of the research on it is conducted, it's just not safe for humans to live here. They're permitted to come and go for business and visiting purposes, though."

Realizing he should probably give context to that, "Force Metal is still something we don't entirely understand. But overuse of it causes rapid degredation of a Reploid's mind and body, causing them to become violent or otherwise unstable. Given that the human population is currently ... not doing well, it was provisioned to be too dangerous for a number of reasons."

X finally takes a bite out of his burger, the heat and combination of soft and juicy fibers in his mouth being different, to say the least. But he didn't dislike it. "Vile and I, though, that's .. a long story. And yes, he was always like that."
Hibiki Tachibana     While everyone talks, Hibiki begins ingesting the first of her three burgers. Though she did not order waffle fries, she's inspired by Xion's quest to obtain the ultimate burger enough to try it with her normal ones. She looks skeptical when she briefly lifts her bun to place a few inside, but her eyes almost light up when she actually takes a bite and pauses for a moment. "--Not bad..." She murmurs to herself, though it's unintelligible anyway with her mouth full. Chomp. Chomp.

It gives her a bit to think about what both Roxas and Xion say, in relation to light and dark. Hibiki closes her eyes briefly. "...I figured you wouldn't, so no problems there. I don't think my balance is too off, at least not anymore," she says while opening said eyes back up to stare at the meaty interior of her sandwich. "So good and bad are separate from it. That makes things simpler." She nods in Xion's direction. That makes it a lot easier to think about. She bites down again.

The way X looks at her briefly gets her to look back with a frown and a slight purse of her lips, but she otherwise continues munching with burger-devouring alacrity and will probably be starting on her second one by the time his explaining has finished. His closing comments get her to let out a low 'hmmn'. "...Him trying to steal that Force Metal couldn't have been anything good, then. /Especially/ if he was always like that."

Furrowing her brow, Hibiki looks back up. "If it's a long story, you can leave it at the bullet points, if you want. How often do you get bad eggs like him? It's not common or anything, is it?" She's about to go reach for her own soda, but Xion cuts her off with her cream soda. After looking hesitant for a second, Hibiki leans in to try it. Her sip is small and polite, but her expression lightening up tells no lies. "...You have some really good taste. Now I know what to get when I go in for refills." Should she also do the sharing thing? She's not sure. This is a dilemma.
Roxas Roxas observes Xion with ABSOLUTELY undue concern considering what's causing her unhappiness. He lets it go for the moment, nodding and making a vague affirmative noise around an onion ring -- careful not to spit on anybody -- concerning the metaphysics stuff.

"Sounds neat. But dangerous. Why use it if it starts giving you what sounds like robo-cancer? Is it like nuclear power? Too useful not to go along with?" He asks X, after swallowing all of the garbage he's stuffed his face with.

He nods affirmatively at Hibiki's assertion that Vile taking the Force Metal was extra special bad news, and adds, "If it IS like nuclear stuff, it was probably for a bomb. Or maybe it was already a bomb, with the way that boat was rigged. Why do guys haveta do that? It's so annoying."
X     X shakes his head.

Perhaps taking her line of questioning the wrong way, "No. Vile is ... not one of a kind, but I could list the number of similar reploids I know of on one hand."

"Vile was working for someone; as he usually is, and whoever that person is wanted a large amount of raw Force Metal ore ... meaning they most likely have a method of refining it."

Which meant that they were either within Giga City, or had somehow stolen the technology to do so. While the latter option seemed more likely, the former had more credence in his mind, even if tangible evidence was nill. He didn't like the way things were shaking up, especially with the radio silence at the local Hunter HQ.

"The first Maverick Hunters, formally, were made with special bodies with combat in mind. Vile was one of them; Dr. Cain and many others thought that there was something wrong with his electronic brain that made him violent, but ... "

Stopping himself, X purses his lips and wipes them with a napkin, before taking a drink of his root beer. "No, nevermind. Vile was so out of control that he was slated for decomission, but during the first Maverick War; the Day of Sigma, he was freed from incarceration and recruited into Sigma's Rebellion. His grudge against me isn't something with a clear reason, its not rooted in action, or even in ideology."

Even though their views were opposed. No, it was simpler than that.

"He just hates my guts. He's always wanted to kill and surpass me ... and every time he couldn't, it only infuriated him more."

It hardly shocked X now, with the ability of hindsight, that creating a 'war reploid' whose entire body was composed of armaments and whose nature had always been intended for severe violence would turn out like Vile had. There was a reason there'd only been one kind of 'war reploid' made like he was.

"Force Metal has a lot of applications. It's ... I suppose i some ways similar to nuclear energy in the sense of its usefulness. It also has the potential to interface with Cyberspace in ways we've never thought of before."
Xion The accordion-hold of her burger and sauces in Amazing Expanded demispace between Xion's hands slowly merges into one complete burger and then, the paper sort of strains to fit back around the burger. She takes a bite of the thick, crunchy murder burger.

"Mm! MM-mm!" She snorts, eyes wide open and cheeks flushed.

Her ears anime steam as she engages in an powerful 'umai!' reaction.

She shoves the burger over to Roxas next, that 'mm-mm' urging crinkling the paper.

With a hard swallow, she finally answers Hibiki. "Good and bad? Yeah. Light is like... A definite thing. Darkness is everything in between, and to get from place to place means bridging the gap, right? Without dark, you don't move at all. Without light, you aren't anywhere."

Xion pinches one set of fingers together. "Without light, you can't have burger. Without darkness, the burger doesn't get cooked. Important!"
Roxas Roxas looks a little perturbed by something that X says. It's not until X is done talking completely that he wonders, "Wouldn't it be normal for somebody whose body is made for combat to have kind of a thing for combat? Isn't it sort of weird to expect otherwise?"

"I guess you have to deal with it when it becomes a problem, but that explanation makes me a little sad."

"... Huh? Cyberspace? Like, the internet?" He wonders aloud.

Before he can ask any more awkward questions though, Roxas is handed LORGE BURGER and unhesitantly takes a bite. This is apparently just normal. His mouth's full again, so he makes a questioning noise that can probably be understood as, 'Am I giving this back or passing it around?' from the way he tilts it back and forth as if to point at different people.

If positively prompted, he passes to X, who he suspects is probably in greatest need of Comfort Things at this exact moment in time.
Xion Xion nods emphatically and points at X. Apparently, LORJ BORGER (ver: western bacon onion ring wafflefry with cheese) is meant for X to take an enormous bite of.

The texture is important.

Lorj Burger is a community project.
X         "Mm..."

X's face looks troubled, until he is offered a very lorj burger. "Oh, thank you." he says, and carefully reaches out to grasp it, and take a bite out of it, getting saucy, cheesy residue on his upper lip as he removes it from his face. The texture is ... incredible. It's difficult for him to put words too.

It's hot, and crunchy, and juicy, and spongy, and a bunch of other adjectives. It's the closest thing he'd probably ever felt to flavor.

Something wet crinkles at the edge of his eyes as he smiles.

"Hm..? I'm sorry, I spaced out for a moment. Cyberspace ... the internet is part of it, I suppose. The best way to put it is that it's a digital world that exists within an alternate dimension that mirrors our own. The 'soul' of reploids exist there."
Roxas "Oh, it's the Nevernever for reploids. Okay." Roxas says, suddenly appearing to understand completely. He pushes his Large Pile Of Disgusting Onion Rings to the center of the table for easier communal access, and sips at his drink.
Hibiki Tachibana     "So he was made for war from day one, and..." Hibiki trails off, X's words weighing on her enough that she forgets to wipe some ketchup off from the side of her face after her last bite. "...If something is wrong in his head, I wonder if you could fix it. Or if a hundred years of being like that would be too much..." She's not directing her thoughts to the Reploid, more considering it herself. Doesn't find an answer, either.

Between that the whole light-dark thing, she's doing a lot of thinking for someone who should be thinking less. It's kind of funny that the latter is the one she understands better. Xion is weird but extremely insightful in the ways that matter is her continued opinion on the other girl. She looks at her, then back down at her food, turning it a little in her hands. Hmm. They must both come together to make burger. But it has no bearing on if burger is good or evil.

Chomp. She's going to be on her third extra-onioned sandwich shortly. Almost all of her fries are dedicated to this task, but she joins Roxas in sliding some of her sides forward for everyone to partake.

And then, joining the current conversation, she speaks up towards X. "...Sounds like a place humans wouldn't be able to visit."
Xion Xion recieves the last scraps of borger back and sets it down, picking out a cheesy western waffle fry and cronching down on the bits of fried outskirts remaining.

"The Nevernever? Nah, people go there all the time. Most of those places are like stepping into a pool. As long as you don't let it get to your mouth and start breathing it in, you can get around fine."

She tilts her head, looking across the table. "Hey... X, are you crying? Are you ok?"

She winces. "Do you not like bbq sauce?"
X     "Nevernever..?"

It was odd, but maybe there was some kind of equivalent for them?

X considers Hibiki's question before answering definitively, "I'm not so sure there was ever anything actually 'wrong' with his brain. I just think he turned out differently than they expected."

The way he said that was tinged with ... something.

Smiling though, he shakes his head at Xion, "Eh .. no, actually, it's the opposite. I liked it a whole lot. Thank you."

"Crying ... people cry when they're happy too, I think."
Roxas "The Nevernever is sort of... where all the things people believe in exists, when they're sure it isn't where they're at." Roxas explains, leaning back precariously in his chair. "Faerie is in the Nevernever, but it's not the only thing there."
X     "Oh, I see."

X looks thoughtful, "I'm not sure if I'd say that Cyberspace is like that, but ... so little is known about it, I suppose its possible."
Hibiki Tachibana     "That's a pretty funny analogy..." Hibiki responds back to Xion, as if twilight burgers were not an even weirder one. "Sounds reasonable enough for a place called 'The Nevernever', at least." Roxas' description causes her some confusion as she tries to wrap her head around that concept. It takes a minute.

"...It must be a pretty big place, then, with more things that I can think of in it," she ends up saying at last.

Chomp. She really hasn't slowed down on her eating at all, aside from breaks to speak. She almost takes one again to follow up on the subject of Vile, but seeing X's smiling face...she decides to leave it at that, at least for right now.
Roxas "Distance isn't really meaningful there. Everything that never existed is there," Roxas says, matter-of-factly. He polishes off his Root Beer/Orange Cream Soda, Inventory Stows bits of what's left in front of him, and nudges Xion in the side.

"I'm gonna get going. Text me when you head home. Or if you're not going to!" He says.

To Hibiki and X, he waves. "Murderous lunatics aside, it's been fun. We should do it again. And X, you need to do this again with or without me. Personally I'm a fan of the hair, but if it's only that way because you never take your helmet off, you oughta fix that."

Swirling darkness opens in Roxas's seat, and he drops abruptly out of view.
Xion Xion looks down at her burger, continuing to pick bits of bacon and beef out of it with a pair of chopsticks that she Just Had Around.

After emptying an entire warehouse into her inventory, the plausibility of her having chopsticks should be relevant.

"Yeah. You can feel good and have your body do stuff. Sometimes bodies do stuff. Bodies are weird. I'm glad you liked it!"

Roxas gets up to leave, and Xion waves eagerly. "I will! Right after, I'm getting a to-go of two more of these, because I bet someone will be hungry at home!" She explains to Roxas, chopsticking a cooled-sauce onion ring and waving with a glob of sauce falling onto the burger.

Happy little accidents.

"I agree, X. More of this. More smiling! We'll have to chase something else that makes you light up like that. Food really is the best."
X X blinks almost owlishly before steepling his fingers with a small grin, " ... I see. I should 'get out' more."

X polishes off his own burger and drink. He doesn't bug Xion and Roxas to return the ore immediately -- it was safe in their inventory, for the moment, he thought. They could work out something later to have it safely transported.

"Thank you all again for the help. We should ... hang out, again."
Hibiki Tachibana     Hibiki waves off Roxas before he promptly vanishes down his seat and into The Darkness, and without Xion also getting up, she figures it's a good time to finish off the last bits of her last burger. Quality and quantity today!

"...Yeah. Let's do it again, sometime." She nods in agreement with X, echoing Roxas' words while she cleans up after herself, with a slight smile she's wearing without really realizing. This /was/ fun. "Ask for help any time. I'll be there. I should be heading out, too. I stayed out longer than I thought I would."

Lacking any cool hammerspaces though, she'll just have to throw away her few leftovers. She will, however, be planning on taking one more order home. Not for herself, though.

"Ah, Xion--" She pauses briefly on her way away from the table to look back over her shoulder. "...You really are a good person. That's all." And she's off. The execution is a little off, but that's just her way of saying thanks for all the things she's said that make sense to her.
