Reliant     THE SPECIAL CASES DEPARTMENT...
    AGAIN

Several times over, the Special Cases Department and their allies have been due a visit from an A.I. special task force known as AIMS. But every time that meeting has seemed imminent, something has happened.

By 'something' we mean 'a humagear has been hijacked and attacked people in multiple places in the city, requiring responses from multiple different angles, which AIMS evidently moved to fill instead of keeping their meeting'.

(Un?)Fortunately, today AIMS has actually kept its appointment.

The pair that turn up have the look of alphabet agent members to them. A young man and woman, dressed in black suits. The man has a slightly heavier jacket on over his blazer; it's reasonably cold out at the moment. At his waist is what can only be described as a "blaster", blue in color. It's most definitely some sort of advanced gun, and has that characteristic look of "Kamen Rider equipment".

Fuwa is a couple of steps through the SCD's door when he stops and looks around in what is evidently surprise. "They have you fighting machines out of THIS place...?"

He appears simultaneously offended at how little Special Cases is working with, and impressed that they haven't just dropped dead between finding out about them and actually making it here.
Ein Along with the fluffy-haired firebrand in a coat is a far more composed -- nearly disinterested -- female agent, tracking her gaze between the Special Cases Department and her Progrise Key-esque Risephone, Hiden Intelligence's latest smartphone device. While it almost seems like the SCD is in for a 'good cop, bad cop' routine with Fuwa and his minder--

One look at her extremely Federal Agent tactical phonecase with the downright excessive AIMS SQUAD cyberskull-and-wreaths branding gives a different impression.

YUA YAIBA rolls her eyes at ISAMU FUWA, flicking an app on her phone at the first person up to bat, Fuwa doubtlessly just behind her in presenting:

A holographic card.

YAIBA YUA
Artificial Intelligence Military Service Squad
Technical Advisor/Unit Coordinator

Followed by the seal of the Japanese Government.

"The Metro PD's Kamen Riders have been helping us for weeks. Doing it with this kind of budget is commendable - even if they're using last generation's technology."

She waits for Fuwa to display his federal ID, before sliding hers into an inside pocket on her jacket.

"We're here to discuss previous joint operations - and take control of any materiel that you've collected that should be remanded to AIMS."
Go Shijima      Go makes a handspring somersault over Tomari's desk (and possibly Tomari) to introduce himself to Fuwa and Yua in his typical grandiose fashion. "You got it," he says emphatically to Fuwa, with two finger-guns. "The chief won't tell you how it is, but it's 'cause the SCD's the best of the best."

He leans close to Yua, who presents as though she's the senior of the two agents, for a stage whisper. "Otherwise, the rest of the force would get performance anxiety." Of course he's going to talk everyone up in front of the government suits.

He's already, based on a whole thirty seconds of interaction, decided that AIMS is worth helping, since their stated aim is similar to the SCD's. The logo doesn't seem to bother him at all, either. Accordingly, by the time he hears 'materiel that should be remanded to AIMS' he's already in a cooperative mood.

"Right," he says. "There's a friend of mine who should be here soon. He might have something you'd want to take a look at."
X Truthfully, the meeting in question being put off so many times wound up working out in the favor of the Maverick Hunters who had been investing resources into researching the equipment that had been recovered from several of the incidents -- between the Zetsumeriser and two Zetsumerise Keys that X had brought back, as well as treating the Humagears they could to the best of their ability.

X had only been here for a handful of minutes before AIMS shows up, and when they enter the room, they find the SCD in the company of several clearly mechanical lifeforms. X himself, obviously, standing next to Tomari's desk with a thickly lined containment unit in his hands. It wouldn't be a far fetch to presume it likely contained the Zetsumeriser and the two keys.

Flanking him was a slightly taller Reploid covered from tip to toe in drab, green armor plating. Rather than combat armor, its shape and design along with the high-tech red visor with a set of overlays currently flipped off his face, seems to indicate his role to be more of an engineer, or mechanic, rather than a soldier.

Standing head and shoulders above both of them is a second Reploid colored in white and green, with a red cross on his shoulder and some kind of computerized monocle stationed over his right eye. He had a stern and serious look on his face, the only humanoid component of his otherwise thickly shelled body.

With the two agents introducing themselves and presenting their credentials, X clears his throat. "My name is X; I'm here representing the Maverick Hunter organization in cooperation with the SCD. This is Specialist Douglas and our Chief Medical Officer, Lifesaver."

Douglas, now identified, raises his hand in an informal and friendly wave, winking, while the tall Lifesaver grunts slightly, acknowledging AIMS' prescence.

His voice is a deep and steady tenor, his singular green eye observing them critically.

Lifesaver gave off the kind of impression that he was like this with everyone, in some ways, "I trust that won't be an issue, Agent Yaiba, Agent Fuwa?"
Hellwarming Trio Despite their (well, Utsuho's) stated indifference to the SCD's goals compared to just getting into flashy battles, the raven and the cat are here in the SCD's offices once again! In the interests of saving floor space, they're both here in their animals forms perched on desks, the raven with the eye on its chest perched atop a whiteboard while the cat with two tails is splayed out across Chief Jun's desk.

If not for the fact that they're also talking, they could easily be mistaken for weird strays.

Utsuho: "Last generation? You mean there's more than five of them?"
Rin: "Just how many Kamen Riders are there, sis? There's Drive, Mach, Chase, Heart, Chiri..."
Utsuho: "Right? But if there's even more of you around with better tech... Which one of you's the strongest?"

Rin eyes Fuwa's blue blaster thing in particular, shimmying sideways across the desk to get a better look at it without actually getting off the thing just yet. "Is that some kinda special gun, bro? Guess you'd need it to compete with so many powered up folks in one place, I bet."

Somehow, Rin's manages to look smug and dismissive despite being a cat at the moment. "But don't worry about a thing. If anything gets through all these guys, I'll make sure to get it all cleaned up so you can take any shots you need."
Hibiki Tachibana     In the Special Cases Department, also known as The DMV: Hibiki polishes off a burger she brought in from the cafeteria, this time without the risk of Humagears trying to make mincemeat of the humans trying to get a bite to eat. As MetsubouJinrai.net has proven several times over now, they really can strike anywhere they want at almost any time - which is very worrying. Part of her cannot blame AIMS for not keeping their appointments. The other part of her is expecting today to be another dud.

Her own Special Disaster Response Division naturally has no jurisdiction in this world, and they're definitely not interested in getting in any legal and bureaucratic hangups with it, especially with AIMS' involvement in the whole affair - so the (un)official policy they've since adopted on the whole matter is to simply roll with Hibiki's investment in the whole matter, while keeping in touch with the SCD when it comes to dispatching her for emergency response--and scheduling like this.

So she's probably sat through a couple of these now. It makes her pretty surprised when their agents actually /do/ show up for once.

"It's not so bad when you get used to it. Kind of homey," she mutters in response to Fuwa's appraisal of the place after she finishes her last bite, turning where she's found a seat towards him and his partner. There's a long moment where her eyes flick down towards the weapon at the man's waist, with the kind of gun she wouldn't expect for someone dressed like him there--but by this point, she really wouldn't be surprised at all for these guys to have their own Kamen Riders.

She's not really sure what to make of AIMS in general going off of their few past interactions, and it shows in the slightly wary way in which she regards them. And seriously, that logo. "Tachibana Hibiki. I don't really have an official badge to show off, though. By 'materiel', you probably mean..." Hibiki trails off, folding her arms and crossing one leg up over her lap just as X, Lifesaver, and Douglas make their intro. She turns her head a bit towards them and then back, raising an eyebrow. After their last envoy's reactions...
Shinnosuke Tomari Shinnosuke Tomari waited at his desk. He was popping milk candy into his mouth as AIMS entered, and was about to introduce himself, when Go somersaulted over him and his desk, causing the tall man to put his head down in a sigh.

Once that was over, Shinnosuke straightened up, and stood up, to approach Yua and Fuwa. "Shinnosuke Tomari, Tokyo MPD, Special Cases Department. Kamen Rider Drive."

Mr. Belt was stationed on his holder on the desk. He wouldn't be an issue today.

Shinnosukes struggling to figure out what to say, when X, Douglas, and Lifesaver arrive. He smiles in relief, as they have the information they need.

"This is my friend, X. He should be able to assist you when it comes to the materiels. When it comes to the past incidents, I can think of three that are relevant. Kamen Rider Chiroptera, the incident inside the DMV, and the incident at the stadium. Any more I'm missing?" That's genuine - he isn't sure what exactly they're considering, and can't think of any others.

And then, a finger is pointed at Rin, and then Utsuho. "I thought you two didn't care about us, why are you still here?!"
Reliant Fuwa displays his own badge practically as an afterthought. It's not hard to get the impression that he might have failed to do so if Yua wasn't there.

ISAMU FUWA
Artificial Intelligence Military Service Squad
Captain, Squad One

The presence of X and his fellow Maverick Hunters... doesn't seem to be a HUGE problem. There's a lingering tension in Fuwa in the presence of mechanical life forms at all, but he doesn't have the particular memories of being chased down by ape-faced androids about these in particular.

"What is your organization's mission statement?" He asks X gruffly, instead of answering the question aimed at them. Once more, Yua will have to be the adult here.

In answer to the talking cat, Fuwa follows its movement with an increasingly aggravated expression on his face. He explains, "It's how I become a Kamen Rider."

He nods towards Hibiki, looking between her and Go. "I've worked with similar before. AIMS is the exception. But having a Kamen Rider, or two, or... several makes a big difference."

Fuwa seems to be counting most everyone in the room as a Kamen Rider.

Shinnosuke seems to re-center Fuwa towards business. He nods, "The ongoing Roidmude incidents. AIMS elected to stay out of them because of their limited numbers, but it seems as if MetsubouJinrai.Net has been coordinating with the Roidmude in limited fashion. Chiroptera was probably one of the major goals of this. Disrupting our meetings has been another."

"The Captain of Squad Two is currently coordinating a response to another such endeavor with the President of Hiden. They have it under control," Fuwa adds, off-handedly. He sounds slightly sour about it. It's hard not to get the impression he'd prefer to be on robot murdering duty than doing this.
Ein Unlike the previous AIMS operator, Ono, who had viewed X as just another Humagear, Yua seems genuinely interested in X, Douglass, and Lifesaver.

"I've been briefed on the forces at work here, and I'm willing to fill in the blanks for members of our joint team to combat the threat of Humagear Special AI Law violations."

Yua frowns a 'god damnit Fuwa' frown as he barrels on towards being a gorilla on main.

"The Maverick Hunters are a peacekeeping organization funded by their world's government to combat their own brand of Special AI Law violations - the Maverick phenomenon." Yua explains, to Fuwa. X may appreciate, or be surprised by, Yaiba's insistence that it is a Maverick 'phenomenon'.

Not a Virus.

"Thanks to the Hiden Intelligence Kamen Rider, Zero-One, we know that it's not a random occurance, or deliberate domestic terrorism. MetsubouJinrai.net's goal is the eradication of humanity: And it's AIMS Squad's job to stop them. The same can be said for all other Special AI Law Violations -- From something as simple as creating a rampaging virtual intelligence, to creating AI approximations of living or deceased humans to replace them."

Yua looks X dead in the eye. "I'm sure that a Maverick Hunter can appreciate our mission."

Stepping towards Tomari's desk, and the containment capsule, Yua pulls out her Risephone again.

No, it's not her phone -- it's very orange. A Cheetah Progrisekey, which she holds next to the containment case.

"We've not been able to secure any of MetsubouJinrai.net's Progrisekeys before - they're always recovered after, or lost. What findings did you make? If they're using Progrise technology, they're at the bleeding edge of Rider equipment -- and that's a problem AIMS can't ignore either."
Reliant Rattle. Rattlerattle. Rattlerattlerattlerattle. RATTLERATTLERATTLEBANG.

A ventilation cover bursts off and clatters to the ground, followed quickly by an ocean of lilac hair and a ... woman. Entrapta descends from an air vent that is just barely big enough to accommodate her body and very definitely not big enough to allow her to actually move within... if not for the fact that her hair is fully ambulatory. The only way she managed that was by slithering along inside it like a snake.

She hangs from the vent by her hair, coughing lightly for a moment and dusting herself off.

"Oh hi," Entrapta says to the room at large, once she's managed to work out the coughing. She smiles sunnily, "Did you know your ventilation system is WAY too small?"

"X, I was just reminded that you wanted me to look at something," Entrapta says, sliding around the Maverick Hunters on her hair and settling on a desk near him. "So what was it? Was it THESE guys?"

A tendril of hair waves towards Lifesaver and Douglas, enthusiastically. At this point, X is perfectly aware of why.
Ein Fuwa enters a processing spinny loop. His reaction to a MYSTERY WOMAN arriving out of the vents will come later.

Yaiba Yua, for her part, tactically slides the Cheetah Progrisekey back into her jacket as the air vent pops, swapping it for her phone to...

Take phone camera video of the arrival of Entrapta.

After a moment. "I don't think she's a Humagear." Is added, so Fuwa doesn't start popping tags on greebles and saying 'BUTSUBUS!!!'

"Friend of yours?" She asks Shijima Go.

Not Tomari.

Go is the Next-Generation unit, so Go is the one Yua looks to.
Go Shijima      "Ohhhh, my, there's a lot, kitty!" The Chief's voice is hard to miss, especially when his captive audience is splayed across his desk. His phone is quickly flipped open. "My favorite is Faiz, because he's got a cool cell phone like me!" He flips open his cell phone, stands up, and makes a couple of very deliberate, dramatic poses with his phone. A blurry picture of a rider in black and red armor with a faceplate that resembles a stylized Phi is waved around and made harder to see by his frenzied scenery-chewing. "Henshin! Henshin, henshin, henshin, heeeeen-SHIN!" There were probably some dance moves in there from thirty years ago. He then sighs, his head falling dejectedly downwards. "He's kind of rude in person, though..."

"I'm the strongest, though," says Go with a thumb proudly poked into his own chest, more to Fuwa and Yua than to Rin and Utsuho. "And if I'm not, I will be. Go Shijima, Kamen Rider Mach. Keep an eye on me for superstar action!"

He turns, following his self-promotion, to face X, Douglas, and Lifesaver, once Tomari introduces him. There's more to him than just a self-promoting showboat--he can sense the suspicion from Isamu. So... "If it wasn't for X, I don't think we'd have anything to give you. It was his idea to grab the belt off of the Magear. We all went along with it, and we were able to undo MetsubouJinrai's overwrite without destroying the Humagear."

Again, in the spirit of being helpful, he offers up some info, this time to Yua. "X and his team would know more than me, after all the research they did, but... I think those keys MetsubouJinrai uses are some kinda uplink devices... the first time we tried removing it, the key seemed like it was trying to take control of some of our technology. And the Magears, they always say something like... 'connected to MetsubouJinrai.net, don't they?"

Go rubs his chin, brow furrowed. In order for something like that... there would have to be a server somewhere for it to connect to. Didn't 01 and his Humagear friend say something about a satellite? Could there be one like it, somewhere? Or, maybe...

The clatter of a ventillation lid hitting the ground distracts him from any further thought. "EHH?! Why not just use the door?! Ah, man... you threw me off my game. No, I've never met this lady, but if she's a friend of X's, she's alright with me."
Hibiki Tachibana     "...If he's on the job, it's probably fine." Hibiki nods while settling in her seat, in regards to the mention of Hiden Intelligence's president handling things elsewhere. She has a good enough impression of him from the event in the stadium to think that. She's satisfied by the pair's regarding of the Reploids compared to the first impression that Ono gave too, and is actually pretty surprised herself at Yua's knowledge. Huh.

"So they're in the know on all the meetings planned before - even this one," she continues with a slight furrow of her brow. "...I wonder what Chiroptera's doing now. These guys, and the Roidmudes...it sounds like they want the same thing, but I think a lot less of these MetsubouJinrai guys. Taking control of innocent Humagears to do their work..." Her pursed lips ease up at Go's mention of how things went last time, and Hibiki tilts her head back up. "It's a real miracle we were able to get it off at all. I don't think it's something anyone could have done alone...and maybe not something we'll be able to do every time. Especially now that we've done it once, I wonder if they'll have extra measures against it, next time." That's also a pretty worrying thought.

"...If they are uplink devices..." Hibiki continues thinking on what the Next Generation TM Kamen Rider just said. "...Would there be a way to jam the link from the outside even if we couldn't physically remove it?" She thinks on it. Hm. She has no idea how anything like that could actually be done though. In the end, Hibiki is too forward-minded. "X, what do y--..."

She starts, looking towards him and his two allies in hopes their actual investigation into the recovered technology will offer some insight, when Entrapta shuffles in from the vents and she jumps to her feet with her fists up. It takes her a moment to recover from being startled when she's not /actually/ a threat, but she's still holding her position residually with an open mouth and a singular bead of sweat running down her forehead. "--Ventilation isn't made for people. You almost made me think you were an alien or something dropping in on us!" Hibiki exhales and rubs at the back of her neck. Now she can give X a stare for an entirely different reason!
Hellwarming Trio Shinnosuke questions their reasons for showing up, and Utsuho and Rin are both ready to answer!

Utsuho: "Humans have better food."
Rin: "Do Roidmudes even eat? I haven't seen any Roidmude food carts around yet."
Utsuho: "They gotta. There was that Humagear cooking food a while back, right?"
Rin: "Yeah, but they were making it for the folks here or something. Do Humagear eat?"

Jun's display of Rider knowledge is rewarded with lots of 'oohs' and 'aahs' from the talking cat as she gets up on her hind legs briefly, then just starts floating off the desk to get a better look. "Whoa... Sounds like this stuff really goes way back. So they use these different doohickeys, do the henshin thing..."

She even starts cheering the Chief on when he starts doing his own variants of the poses/dances, almost as if studying his movements while Utsuho snaps her fingers at Go's introduction. "Oh, from the... The place! Island place! Yeah, I remember you."

Somehow, Utsuho remembered a thing. "I'm Utsuho, and that's Rin. Strongest hell raven, best kasha from the Hell of Blazing Fires. We'll keep an eye on you as long as you're alive, so don't let us down and make sure to leave a brilliant corpse for us, speedy guy." Utsuho introduces herself and Rin, her tone making it sounding rather encouraging despite the actual words.

Fuwa, meanwhile, gets a more directed response and stare from the cat as she hops off the desk to get a closer look at the device. "No kiddin'? Cool... Hey, you think we could get some of those? She peers up at him/the device from below at first, then floats up a good three feet or so to keep inspecting it.

"Do you even know what you're looking at, Orin? If they had any extras, they'd probably be handing them out to their own guys rather than us." Utsuho chimes in, snickering lightly as she hops off the whiteboard and takes on her humanoid form finally.

"One of those transforming things, yeah! But come on, it'd be pretty awesome if we could turn into one of those Kamen Riders. Right?" Rin assumes her humanoid form as well, already thrusting one hand out diagonally to her side and almost certainly invading Fuwa's personal space in striking that pose not unlike what the Chief had shown her earlier. "Then we could find out what Chiri's up to and..."

Fuwa mentions another situation, and Utsuho actually focuses in on that instead of joining in on dumb poses (for once). "How long has this thing been going on? Me and Orin only found out about this stuff a little while ago, but you're saying Kamen Riders have been doing this for generations. Are there really old Riders running around fighting like this, too? Ancient Riders, even, just getting more stronger as they keep on fighting more of these Roidmudes and Metsubous?"

Utsuho sounds a bit too intrigued by that. Her thought process is interrupted, however, by the arrival of a strangely ambulatory hair monster! Or... Whatever Entrapta is, since neither she nor Rin seem to know who she is. They look towards each other, then at Yua when she indicates that she doesn't recognize them either, and then they both turn to X.

Utsuho: "Pretty sure Heart gave him one of those keys, right? So maybe he knows who this is."
Run: "She's not spoutin' stuff about getting revenge or anything. She's probably fine, too? Hey, lady! You know anything about Jinrainets or those.. Er. Those Progrise keys? Heart made it sound like they were pretty important, too."
X With his question more or less answered by silence, Lifesaver purses his lips and stands by while X is addressed directly, the blue bomber in question frowns mildly and opens his mouth, before Fuwa's partner answers for him. His eyes widen ever so slightly, but his frown disarms quickly. " ... yes. It's our stance that providing what assistance we can falls within our mission statement. None of us want to stand by when we can make a difference; of course, we're also outsiders in this instance, and naturally will cede to local authority when necessary."

Douglas interjects after Isamu mentions the collaboration between Metsuboujinrai.net and the Roidmude faction, "About that ... "

"X already introduced me, but, my name is Douglas. Lifesaver and I have been examining the belts and 'keys' recovered from the two incidents that Shinnousuke mentioned."

His casual tone and demeanor is practically night and day with Lifesaver's grim visage.

Which makes it all the more striking that Douglas' face twists in an unsettled manner, his head rubbing up against the side of his helmet, "I'm not going to mince words. Things might get really ugly around here, really fast."

Lifesaver hums lowly and raises a hand, one finger extended in 'lecturing position'. "We should start from the beginning."

Turning his hawkeyed stare onto the two AIMS agents, his head dips so he can look them in the eye.

And then Entrapta bursts into the room.

X was already sinking into battle position before startling halfway, realizing who it was. "What are you ... you came all this way?!"

Douglas raises his hands in a warding motion, "Hey, keep all those luscious locks to yourself. At least take me out to dinner first, sheesh ... "

    Lifesaver frowns severely at her.

X sighs, "This is Entrapta. She's a skilled .. inventor that I came across in the Njourn Badlands. I thought that it'd be helpful if she took a look at the Zetsumeriser and the Zetsumerise Keys."

And while X takes care of that, Lifesaver raises his hand and extends his finger, again. Ahem.

"To restate my duties, I am the Chief Medical Officer of the Maverick Hunters. Most of my research on these items were theoretical in nature .. but it is my determination that the the effect of the Zetsumerise is very nearly identical to the Sigma virus, the most well known contributor to maverickism in our world."
X "However, the methodology seems to be far more forceful and thus, endangers the host in ways that the Sigma virus did not. It also seems to require direct transmission and cannot spread by passive infection."

Douglas nods and speaks up, "You're probably more interested in the technical aspects, though, right? Well ..the good news is, as far as I was able to tell, the Zetsumerise Keys aren't actually the problem. In fact, on their own, they're harmless. I don't have a Progrise Key to compare to, but there was nothing malicious about the keys themselves. They seemed to contain something similar to what we call "DNA Data". The Zetsumeriser reads the data inside of the Zetsumerise Key and, based on the examinations Lifesaver performed on the Humagears that were recovered from the DMV incident; it merges the "DNA Data" of the Humagear with the set stored inside the Zetsumerise Key, creating a Magia."

"The belt is the real problem. The thorns that line the belt's inner seam works as a kind of override, it connects the system of the Humagear directly to a blackbox module. It took a /lot/ of work to crack it, by the way."

That as an aside, he goes back on topic, "That module reroutes the Humagear's connection elsewhere and begins downloading and overriding the data already inside of them, almost like a worm cluster, if either of you are familiar with computer viruses. The process causes excessive amounts of 'brain damage' and, because of the way it overrides that Humagear's connection to HIDEN's server, most of the personal data is corrupted."

Lifesaver grimaces, "As for the ones corrupted secondhand by the Magia ... we've stabalized them and, I was able to reverse the physical changes done to their bodies, for the most part. Their minds, however ... "

Lifesaver closes his eyes and admits, "The only way to restore their minds is to utilize the backup stored on your satellite."

"That said, my attempts at treating them, as well as the incident at the stadium, showed that it may be possible with further research into the matter, to treat these infections utilizing Force Metal."
Shinnosuke Tomari 'I'm the strongest.' Shinnosuke scoffs as Go claims that again, but says nothing. He eyes the various technology, listening to the two AIMS officers carefully. And then, before he can decide if he wants to speak...

An ocean of hair attached to a young woman comes through his air vent. Shinnosuke's eyes widen. He has no idea who this is, but apparently X does! He's going to say something, and then he's REJECTED, BECAUSE YUA ASKS GO INSTEAD. Instead, Shinnosuke addresses Entrapta. "Well, welcome to the SCD, I guess."

With dejection subtly on his face before he straightens up, Shinnosuke glances towards Hibiki. "Chiroptera could be doing anything. They're a Roidmude - so they're likely masquerading as a human to get around."

Utsuhuo and Rin get an exasperated sigh, as Shinnosuke walks over towards Rin and Fuwa. "If you guys weren't literal animals, I'd ask if you were raised in a zoo." It's actually more genial than it sounds - he doesn't mind them, even if Utsuho can be an ass, because they at least help for all their words.

X's team's explanation goes live. As they go over it, Shinnosuke nods. "Thank you, Lifesaver, Douglas. You mentioned Force Metal...how does that work? What does it do, in regards to the infection, so far?"
Ein Yua takes a moment to consider Lifesaver. She had noticed his offer, and then expression when being rebuffed, and while her eyes did a little pop, she remains professional.

"Impressive." She summarizes Lifesaver's ability, agreeing with the room's thoughts on the Satellite.

"One consistent thing that is said by the Magia is 'Connected to MetsubouJinrai.net' - usually the moment before the Magia connection is established. Vulcan confronted one Magia in the Daybreak Hydro-Electric Plant ruins almost a month ago, during the first outbreaks, and there was a different reaction within the shielded control room."

Yua grimaces. "Unfortunately, MetsubouJinrai.net destroyed that Magia before it could be recovered."

Nodding to Lifesaver, and gesturing towards Drive and Mach - Tomari and Go. "This is why AIMS Squad is looking to work as a joint team with the MPD. The effects of the Core Drivia may have slowed, or halted, the connection between MetsubouJinrai.net and the victim Magear. Furthermore, with the Maverick Hunter's Force Metal technology, removal may be possible in a consistent way."

Yua gives an assured 'hmph'. "Of course, that's why I familiarized myself with the abilities of those who showed interest in intervening. Basic research is quite useful, these days."

Lifesaver -- not X -- is offered a bright yellow key: HORNET.

"If you need data on a Progrise key, you can check out this one from AIMS' armory. You'd need Authorization to release the lock, anyway, so it's harmless to let you look at it."

Yua does not look at Fuwa, nor acknowledge him in any way, while talking about Authorization, and you have no idea why this is obvious to you, because it's totally normal.
X The two nod, waving off Shinnousuke's gratitude with appreciation before answering his question.

Douglas rubs the bridge of his nose briefly, while speaking, "To not keep everyone here for the next hundred years, I'll be as short as I can with the info dump .. basically, Force Metal is a very unique alloy that when synthesized can act as a kind of adapter that can generate massive amounts of energy from Cyberspace, and transfer it into the real world ... "

Lifesaver nods, "Cyberspace is where the "DNA-Soul" of a Reploid resides."

The massive medicine man gives Yua a subdued smile as he receives the Progrise Key, "We appreciate it. With Douglas' technical skills, analysis on this to contrast with what we have on the Zetsumerise Key will be useful. Speaking of which ... "

    "Oh, right!"

Douglas exclaims, reaching to one of the pouches on his waist. It seemed to be made out of an odd, almost rubbery kind of metal. He removes what appears to be an external hard drive. "This is all the data we've compiled on our end. Since you're sharing, we should too."

"As for Officer Tomari's question," Lifesaver resumes, "We still do not understand everything regarding Force Metal and its properties, but Force Metal energy comes from Cyberspace. This combined with your Core Driviar may be why it was possible to remove the Zetsumeriser ... but more on point, by interfacing a Humagear with Force Metal, we were able to 'clean out' their system by treating them in Cyberspace."
Reliant "I'm Entrapta! And using a vent is the same as using the door, if they're designed right," Entrapta replies to Go, matter-of-factly. She regards Hibiki bemusedly, and adds, "How do you navigate your infrastructure if the main security measures go haywire? You've gotta have big vents!"

She turns back towards X expectantly, only to be questioned for coming this far. Multiple tendrils of Entrapta's hair shrug for her, "I've got a looooot of Move Essentia. Coming big distances really isn't a problem for me."

Douglas says the wrong thing. Entrapta springs forward on her hair, hovering about half a foot away from him and inspecting him not-really-clinically. She lowers a raised welding tool and asks, "Are you saying I can take you apart for dinner? Because that's EASY! I've got chefs and everything! Are you okay with tiny food?"

Up goes the welding helmet. Entrapta just smiles over at Lifesaver. She doesn't seem to really understand an implicit cue like that.

In answer to Shinnosuke's greetings, Entrapta shakes his hand absent-mindedly with a fresh tendril of hair. "Nice to meetcha!"

Regarding the topic at hand however, Entrapta retreats back to the desk she was sitting on and withdraws a minicomputer from a pocket on her overalls. She flips it open and says, "I've encountered something like that before! Had to scrap a lot of my bots before we were able to knock out the thing doing it. Sounds to me like you might be dealing with something with too much processing power to fight with directly."

Regarding Force Metal, she says, "Sounds to me like the Force Metal as-applied to the humagear caused enough corruption to trigger a rollback without inflicting severe data degradation. Does that track with its ordinary properties? This is the first I've heard of it, also, where can I get a sample?"
Reliant //I wonder what Chiroptera's doing now.//

A FEW MILES AWAY, two humagears very very rapidly selling out of ice cream in their truck. The one actually working the ice cream looks vaguely bored.

BACK IN SCD...

Fuwa eyes Entrapta warily, but apparently decides that she doesn't warrant a-shootin'.

The answer that Yua gives Fuwa, however, gets an incredibly sour look from him. He leans up against the cabinets near the door, folding his arms over his chest sulkily. "Machines for fighting machines... ridiculous."

But he doesn't seem inclined to make a bigger issue out of it than that for the moment.

"According to Hiden's findings, the equipment used by MetsubouJinrai.net corrupts the program of humagears and inserts genocidal directives. We don't know of a way to reverse it without destroying infected humagears," Fuwa replies to Go. From the tone of his voice, he doesn't have a problem with this, though.

Regarding the enemy being in on the meetings, though, Fuwa shakes his head. "Probably not. They just wanted to distract us at those times. The meetings weren't top secret or anything, but we know of no reason they'd have had knowledge of them, either."

"No," he says to Rin. "They're proprietary."

He doesn't mention that he brutally annihilates the DRM instead of cooperating with it.

Growing increasingly exasperated at being questioned about Rider Facts (text 555 to unsubscribe), Fuwa grits his teeth as he says, "The older ones are cyborgs."
X     Yes, the entire Megaman X Timeline does agree.

Namely, the frowns directly subtly, for a split second, as Isamu mentions it tell the tale.

Douglas backs away from Entrapta further, "That is /not/ what I said! C-c'mon, don't you know anything about personal space?!"

As she clearly did not understand social cues, Lifesaver uses his large, lifesaving hand to save the life of his good friend Douglas, by gently pushing Entrapta back several steps before returning to his original position.

"In a way, that's not incorrect .." X mentions to her, as the conversation topics focus back in on Force Metal. "It is not unlikely." Lifesaver agrees.

"As for a sample, I'm afraid that .. isn't going to be possible. Especially after the attack on one of Giga City's mining rigs recently, everything related to those projects is being kept under lock and key. We weren't even allowed new models to utilize in treating the Humagears, only what we had on hand."

It's clear from the terse look on X's face that the beaurocracy involved there had stressed his temper with someone, or a group of people, to the limit.

    He moves on quickly.

"I'll let you know if the situation changes," he promises Entrapta, before folding his arms, "Also, I'd like to reinforce that without Go, Hibiki, Shinnousuke, and even President Hiden, we wouldn't have been able to rescue that Humagear."

His eyes zero in on Isamu, "In other words, without the full cooperation of everyone involved, the possibility of saving anything is nill."
Go Shijima      Leave a good corpse? What kind of person just says something like that? "...Yeah, I remember you guys, too," says Go, after a stunned pause. It's pretty hard to forget a pair of gremlins like Utsuho and Rin.

When Hibiki suggests jamming the link from outside the network, he glances hopefully towards Yua and Fuwa. He's not an IT expert like Kyuu, or really much of a hacker at all, but... it would really put a dent in MetsubouJinrai's plans, if that were possible.

After Lifesaver's explanation, he seems yet more hopeful.

It sounds like this black box module rerouting the connection elsewhere is how they've managed to avoid detection so far. But...

Go procures a Signal Bike--yellow, with a white bar across the sides. One wheel displays a prominent red STOP sign upon its hubcap. "This one can mimic the Heaviness," he says. "So if we get there in time, I can slow down the upload, and X's Force Metal can remove the Zetsumeriser--the belt..." Go pockets the bike, and starts trying to recall the line of thought he'd had before Entrapta's dramatic, clattering entrance.

"If I slowed it down enough, do you think you'd be able to get a useful physical location out of it? Or is that black box module Lifesaver mentioned as annoying as it sounds? Because..."

Fuwa's assertion that there's no known way to reverse the damage is what he addresses next, with a serious frown. Arms crossed, "I haven't met many Humagears. But the ones I've met were nice people, who were passionate about what they were doing, even if someone else would consider it drudge work. Hurting someone like that... corrupting them into something like a Magear... I can't forgive it."

His grip on his arms tightens, and his mouth twitches down at the corners. "Anyway... nice to meet you, Entrapta," he says, placing himself between her and Douglas, following Lifesaver's cue. He offers a hand to shake. "MetsubouJinrai seems to have a lot of know-how and the advantage of secrecy. The more experts we have working this, the faster we can stop them. That's why..." He looks over his shoulder at Fuwa.

"I'm also glad to have X, Douglas, and Lifesaver on our side."
Shinnosuke Tomari Yua gets a response, as Shinnosuke shakes Entrapta's...hair. "A joint team would be lovely. I'll admit, part of me was afraid you were going to try to shut us out." It's phrased as a joke, with a light laugh, but Go will be able to see in Shinnosuke's expression that he means it.

Go starts a plan. Shinnosuke mulls it over. "With your Signal Bike and X removing the belt, that'll leave you both open. The rest of us will need to protect you, eh? Sounds like a plan."

And then, towards Fuwa, Shinnosuke repeats what Go said, sort of. "I also haven't met many Humagears. But the ones I have seemed dedicated to their job. The cafeteria worker always had a smile on her face. She may have been a 'machine', but to cause her to suffer...I won't let civilians hurt while I can help it."
X Douglas releases a small, nervous huff, before sending a two fingered salute of appreciation Go's way for intervening. He was fairly easy going, but someone talking so enthusiastically about taking him apart just didn't sit right.

Eyeing the Signal Bike, X nods with solidarity. He'd be willing to try, no matter what. Lifesaver shakes his head, though, "From what Douglas told me before, it would be nearly impossible. But .."

Douglas chuckles and taps the side of his head, " 'Nearly' is just that. So long as the possibility isn't zero, it always has the chance to come true. You'd need a specialized tool to do the job! Truthfully, I've already tried making one, but I haven't had any luck so far."

"That's our Douglas." X grins.

"What's that supposed to mean ..? Anyway! The basis I'm working on right now is basically a trojan backdoor ... that black box sends data two ways. Download and Upload .. so long as we can make a device that can immediately crack into the black box and send the virus back 'home', it is possible, in theory."
Reliant In fact, the moment that Entrapta understands personal space is when it is explicitly stated! She replies, "Oh, okay!"

It doesn't seem to bother her at all to just be gently relocated. Seems like she just requires a different style of communication to get through to.

On the other hand, Entrapta turns her attention fully back towards X. Down comes the welding mask, and up comes the handheld computer. "If that's the case, you must have some of it on you, am I right?"

On the subject of triangulating the position of the enemy server, Entrapta speculates, "If its processing power is so high that you can't do anything about it in the moment with the tech you're packing, you probably can't punch through whatever security measures it's using on the other end without getting yourself in too deep. Actually, I think the bigger problem is getting the thing's attention enough that it turns around on whoever is running the trace."

Pushing her welding helmet back up, she asks, "What's your ideal goal? Trace? Counterattack? Reliably saving infected bots? Something more complicated? Give me your sky's-the-limit take!"
Reliant Fuwa gets visibly more irate at Go's defense of humagears. He shakes his head, "They're ticking time bombs. All of them. A building full of humagears is a building full of potential murderers."
Hellwarming Trio Utsuho: "Nah, we were raised in a mansion."
Rin: "Pretty sure that's not what he means, Okuu."
Utsuho: "But there were loads of animals in there. Does thamake Master a zookeeper?"
Rin: "Wait, so you did get what he meant?"

Rin sighs dramatically and Utsuho looks rather proud of herself, never mind missing that slight dig at herself and Rin courtesy of Shinnosuke. The raven looks a bit less proud as she listens to Yua and Lifesaver, however, clearly struggling to comprehend everything she's hearing.

Utsuho: ""So you're saying this Zetsubou thing can be fixed if you use the Force thing to corrupt a... Uh. To do some robot stuff to them, and that'll stop the Humagears from going nuts even after they get hit with the Metsumerise belt?"
Rin: "But unless you got a Force Metal sword or gun or something, that sounds like it could be pretty tricky, right?"
Utsuho: "Probably, but these guys look like the type to try that kinda thing because it's more impressive that way."

Rin does slump a bit at being refused a belt of her own, but she perks right back up when she's informed that the older Riders are cyborgs. "Ya mean like half people half robots? Whoa... It's just like in the movies!"

Apparently, Rin's started watching movies at some point.

Utsuho, meanwhile, puffs up a bit when Go actually looks surprised by her request. "Don't you go forgetting us now. Besides, better to make your exit flashy and big than lame and boring like choking on lettuce or something. Of course, the way things sound with this whole thing?"

She stretches her arms out over head, then takes a seat right on top of someone's desk. No, she's not going to use a chair. "There could be a whole lotta fighting and a whole lot of dying before this whole thing ends. You're gonna need a lot more of those Force Metal things if ZetsubouJinrai starts hitting way more of those Humagears in bigger areas. If X or Entrapta aren't around to do that..."

Utsuho holds her arm out as if mimicking a shot from an arm cannon. "... Thing, what's your plan? Because I'm pretty sure we can't use their bodies, anyway." She cracks a grin at Fuwa's comment about Humagear murderers in particular, getting up again to peer at him more closely.

"That's how it is, huh? If you'd rather we just blow them up and not bother with the Force Metal thing at all, then just say it. If you're strong, then do it."
Hibiki Tachibana     "Force Metal would help like that?" Hibiki perks up. She learned about the stuff from a prior engagement, and the big explanation capping off with that only makes her more amazed at what this poorly understood substance can really do. There are a lot of other things to take in there too though - with how the Zetsumeriser works and the fact that even secondhand corruption has that kind of effect at the forefront. "...You know, for a group with a grudge against mankind, they don't treat Humagears decently at all...even if it's true they do have backups, doing what they're doing in the first place..." Her dislike of that is palpable.

Moving on instead of stewing (too hard) in her emotions though, she at least lightens up at the knowledge that they're not being spied on or anything. These guys just cause that much trouble. Which is...well, not a good thing, but probably better? She still doesn't like it, since it means people out there are getting roped into messes, but it is what it is, and all the more reason to stop them sooner rather than later. And with all of this knowledge going around courtesy of AIMS, the Maverick Hunters, and Entrapta, on top of everyone working together...there are some signs looking up.

And so she hops out of her seat, stepping forward to physically signify team unity by stepping up closer to the rest with a clenched fist held up to her chest. "If it means stopping them from getting away with their crap and hurting more people and Humagears, I'll keep doing everything I can, too." She nods towards Shinnosuke and Go. 'Protecting' is definitely within her skillset, while the others handle the finer points. "And just like X said, we'll all have to work together. But I'm sure we can do it. If it happened once, even if they're ready for it, we just have to be more prepared."

After she takes a moment to appreciate how Douglas' line about possibility sounded, and deigning to leave that to the eggheads, Hibiki actually turns in Fuwa's direction herself, with a marked frown and some of her own irateness with it. "--You can't hold them being taken advantage of like this against them. Go isn't wrong; they don't deserve this crap happening to them at all."
Ein "A building full of literal bombs is better? Tools are tools, Fuwa. You should remember that." Yua groans, reminding Fuwa of the LITERAL BUILDING HE WORKS IN DAILY.

"I'd suggest a trace. Hiden's satellite, ZEA, is where the Humagears are normally backed up - so if the signal is going someplace else, it's not to a satellite in space. If we can find wherever MetsubouJinrai.net is sending their signal, it won't matter what kind of computer they point at the barrel of a gun: AIMS can send an operation to neutralize MetsubouJinrai.net's base, and end this crisis decisively."

Yua nods firmly, arms crossed. "Of course, we'll need the help of the Metropolitan Police, the Maverick Hunters, and..."

Yua glances dirtily at Fuwa. "Hiden's Zero-One. Try to remember, Everyone."

She says 'everyone', but you can hear the gorillic 'hooh?' and tigric roar crackling between them.
X     "There is another idea we'd had as well .."

Lifesaver seems hesitant in continuing at the nasty looks sent his way by X and Douglas, which quickly turn into troubled ones, " ... well, it relies on live 'bait' and, we're not too happy about the idea of doing that." Douglas mutters.

"If it were just an issue of cracking in, it wouldn't be a problem," Douglas clarifies for Entrapta, "As far as goals .. if the sky's the limit, then ... "

Lifesaver, Douglas and X all share a look before nodding decisively, "All of the above!"

"Reality usually isn't that nice, but that doesn't mean we should stop trying to make happy endings. Right? Regardless of their reasons, Metsuboujinrai.net are only causing people to suffer, so putting an end to things as quickly as possible while saving everyone we can, is the ideal outcome."

"If we knew where their base was, it'd be possible for us to teleport inside and open a way for AIMS and other parties to launch an all out assault on their HQ." X notes.

Lifesaver nods, "To add on to that -- while AIMS may have come to this conclusion itself, for the sake of those who might not have, it is likely that Metsuboujinrai.net has one major base of operations. The frequency and scale of their attacks imply that their organization is rather small. If it weren't, they wouldn't waste their time with pointless stop-gap attacks and would instead have performed major assaults on government bodies, or attempted to assume control of ZEA by taking control of the HIDEN building."

X looks sourly at Isamu and Yua both. " 'Bombs' or 'tools', Humagears are still people. Or do you think that a room full of humans doesn't have the potential to be as violent?"

"X ... " Douglas dourly warns, the blue bombers face scrunching up, "Stop treating them like they're disposable just because you can revive the 'them' that existed yesterday."
Go Shijima      Go blinks, when Fuwa makes his assertion, suddenly reminded of something from earlier. Aruto's voice, clear as a bell in his memory, rings out:

Do you think someone is only the worst thing they've ever done?

Fuwa can see gears turning, a surprised, off-guard expression on Go's face. He avoids eye contact for a moment, then...

"Tch." Go runs a hand through his hair, adopting his earlier confidence. "We'll see about that. Roidmudes are rotten to the core, but Humagears... even if they're time bombs, I've never heard of a bomb that can't be defused." With a smile sent Utsuho's way, he places both hands behind him to lean against a wall. "I'll fight as long and as hard as I can to protect their dreams, and stop MetsubouJinrai."

There's a cool-kid nod towards Entrapta. "So my pie-in-the-sky is this: let's find a way to restore the Humagear, and find a way to trace that override signal back to its source." He lifts his left hand to scratch at the side of his head, frowning thoughtfully. "If I had to pick one to go after first... I'd say tracking, over restoration. If we want to stop MetsubouJinrai, we can't do that just purely being reactive." He nods towards Yua.

"If 01 wants to help with that, I'm fine. But if a Roidmude shows up... especially if it's the Grim Reaper, I'm prioritizing it."
Reliant "A humagear isn't a person. They don't 'deserve' anything," Fuwa replies heatedly, staring out the back windows. "You're empathizing with them because they have a human shape and simulate human behavior. The ones that manage to reach the level of a human are even more dangerous. The ones that don't are too easy to turn into shock troopers."

To Utsuho, he replies, "You're right. There's no point in talking about it. I was already planning on destroying them. If you people want to deal with it your way, get to the problem before me."

His attention swings towards Yua. "Did you make the bombs HACKABLE? You're the one always talking about security authorization."

There are no hackable bombs. There are, however, hackable Gelgoogs.

When the issue keeps getting pressed, Fuwa just pushes away from the wall and leaves, slamming the door thunderously behind him.
Ein "Mr. X." Yua begins, that firm, cutting voice of someone formally addressing someone who did not have direct authority over her.

"In Giga City, you would be right. You must also admit: The history of robotic consciousness, and their evolution towards sentience, was rocky. Can you stand there, and look me in the eye, and say that humans pursuing their own protection via enacting laws, and enforcing consistent rules for robotic behavior like 'don't attack humans' and 'don't take advantage of the image of deceased humans' bind the tools?"

Yua's disgust is evident, entering her tone and the depth of her brow as she re-sizes up the Maverick Hunter. "As a technical advisor, here is my consult: You're projecting your Reploid emotions on a tool that looks like you. We call it 'humanization', when we do it."

Yua's distaste hardens. "The Special AI Laws don't get violated by Humagears. They get violated by people."

This may sound absolutely blistering: But Humagear singularity is still a hotly debated topic -- and Yaiba Yua deals in Facts.

Yua, watching Fuwa go, sighs. Her own disgust isn't alowed any more.

"I apologize for the conduct of my coworker." She offers, without the normal courtesy bow. She's said the formality and she's moved past it.

Yua does not tell Fuwa about the Gigas Project. He would not like to hear about the Gigas Project.
Hibiki Tachibana     Hibiki looks like she almost wants to go after Fuwa when he leaves, clenching her teeth, but she ends up just letting out a grunt and shoving her hands in her pockets to take her prior seat once more. "...And here I thought we were getting along..." She murmurs quietly to herself, closing her eyes.

Much as she'd like to vent, he's already gone, so she'll just have to live with it for now. "Get to them first...fine, I will." Picking herself up from her slumped forward position some, Hibiki turns her head back up. She doesn't like where this conversation has gone, and her /attempt/ at reigning it in is to go down a different train of thought.

Namely, a tangent off in another direction, angled towards one Go Shijima. "--What did that guy ever do to you, anyway?" She makes a very informed assumption on 'Grim Reaper', going off prior engagements and Chase's...everything. "Every time something's happened to the Humagears, he's came and helped us. Even left without a fight." She's still winding down, so it might sound a little more aggressive than she means it to be, but she's actually curious.
Shinnosuke Tomari Things get rocky. People are having heated discussions, and even though Shinnosuke contributed, he didn't mean for Fuwa to leave the room. He doesn't follow him, though. Instead, he turns to Yua. "It's alright. I understand how dicey the conversation is. The same happens with us and some of our allies on the subject of Roidmude."

And then, Shinnosuke moves over towards his desk, considering taking a seat. "Hopefully, our organizations working together can bring a stop to this menace, and bring peace for everyone. That's what we all want, right?"

It's not just a casual statement. He wants, in a way, to confirm that Yua has good intentions. He doesn't *doubt* her, but if they're going to be working together, he wants to know even the basics of the shape of her person, beyond what she's already presented.
Go Shijima      That reaction is one that Go recognizes. Or believes that he recognizes. There's a pensive expression on his face as his eyes bore into the floor.

"We're getting along fine," says Go to Hibiki and Yua alike, putting on a cheerful facade. "I have a feeling about him, so don't worry," he cryptically offers to Hibiki in particular.

It's personal for him... it has to be, or else he wouldn't have gotten that angry.

"Chase..." His cheery facade sours pretty quickly at his mention. "When a Humagear goes rogue, it's because MetsubouJinrai is involved. But Roidmudes are different. They're obsessed with human behaviors. And they always seem to pick up the worst ones. Twisted up like that, with the kind of power they have, they can cause a lot of harm. They want to 'surpass' humanity, and I don't trust one bit what they'll do if they can pull that off. As if that weren't bad enough..." He shoves his hands into his pockets.

"They've got no problems killing in pursuit of that goal. The only way to deal with something that dangerous is to stop it, but Chase wants to keep giving them second chances. As long as he's alive, he's just going to keep 'resetting' them and giving them more chances to hurt and kill people." He scowls. "People that don't get the luxury of a reset or a download from a satellite."
X Yaiba Yua projects her disgust. She meets the hardened stares of three Maverick Hunters -- but perhaps none so fiery as X.

It's funny, how eyes that are made out of purely synthetic materials can look so 'real'. That they can carry the same amount of expression and emotion that a real human's does as X is very physically prevented from getting in her face by Lifesaver and Douglas who both grab ahold of X's shoulders, as if to remind him of his own position.

His accusatory glare is hot and unyielding, none-the-less.

"You keep calling them tools, but they're more than that. As long as you continue to view them as disposable commodities, then even without metsuboujinrai.net -- "

"You'll always have Maverick Phenomenon of your own to deal with."

X sharply pushes Douglas and Lifesaver's hands off of him and walks past, sucking in a deep breath, "Please excuse me. I need a little fresh air myself."

Douglas puts a hand on his hip awkwardly as he departs to cool off before he said, or did something further out of line. "Uhm .. don't worry about it. I don't really agree with your 'take' either." he informs her.

"But most of us are used to working with people who have similar mindsets to yours. He's just really strung out, right now."
Reliant "People don't know how to handle machines most of the time," Entrapta chimes in after the tension is partially siphoned from the room by Fuwa's departure. She breaks away from X to glide around Lifesaver and Douglas, indicating them pointedly, "Me, I don't get people. I could make these two's bodies sing, but figuring THEM out? They've gotta tell me what they want or I just don't catch it."

She gestures pointedly at Lifesaver, "He looks scary, but he handled things how they needed to be handled. Whoever made him did a real good job. Of course, I'm sure he learned just fine along the way himself."

She practically surfs back 'round to pause near Hibiki, "But machines, even the ones that aren't 'people' exactly, are a lot like people anyway. You get what you give! If your robots aren't playing nice, you've gotta ask yourself what you've been doing wrong with them."

"I let some of mine get infected in an experiment. Didn't have a choice but to break the ones that tried to take me down. But I never hated any of them, and I don't think they really hated me." Once again she settles near X. A tendril of hair pats him on the shoulder reassuringly-- or would, but he heads out before she can.

"So don't write off your roidmudes OR your humagears just yet."

Smiling uncertaintly, Entrapta points after the retreating X, "I was taking readings from him to try to figure out how the deprogramming works, so..."

"Is there anything I can do for any of you before I go? I thought this would involve a lot more lab time! This isn't even a lab," she offers.
X Lifesaver grunts in response to Entrapta, but says nothing more. Douglas chuckles and gives her a thumbs up, "Well, thanks for coming out here, anyway. Oh -- you asked X about his Force Metal, right? I think he got too heated and forgot ... "

"Well, he does have one unit embedded in his current frame, so maybe you can ask him if he's fine being examined in detail sometime later?" he suggests.
Ein Shinnouske asks Yua if she's invested in peace.

"It's difficult for me to say that I'll bring peace to anyone, Mr. Tomari. My formal title is 'technical advisor', but I run the AIMS armory - and assist in weapon development."

It's a Rinna, Tomari, she's a Punished Rinna.

"But AIMS Squad gave up their civilian identities to protect people. Fuwa is fighting against a horrifying past, caused by an unprompted terrorist attack by Hiden's prototype Humagears. So I'll ask you bluntly:"

X retreats. Yua shakes her head. "I don't care if you 'disagree'. Your personal feelings are irrelevant to our shared business. But, what would you rather Humagears be treated with, ten years ago?"

"A race of violent, uncontrollable genocidal machine beings who wished only for the extermination of humanity--"

Yua blinks. "--or a regrettable malfunction caused by malicious actors?"

Back to Tomari: "AIMS will have no problem working with the Maverick Hunters, Hiden, and the MPD to coordinate our joint operation.

Entrapta...

Yua pinches the bridge of her nose. "I'm saying that right now, nobody is ready for them to be full people. Not even Hiden Intelligence. That's something for the Cabinet to decide. AIMS' role is clear: handling Special AI Law violations, and stopping MetsubouJinrai.net."
Hellwarming Trio Utsuho: "Metsubou?"
Rin: "Yeah, Metsubou."
Utsuho: "Oh. That... Actually sounds cooler."
Rin: "Right?!"

After Go says it (again), it finally sinks in that Utsuho's been saying it wrong this entire time. "Dreams, eh? I don't have anything that fancy pulling me into all this. I'm just here to make sure nobody's half-assing their reasons for being here. If there's gonna be a fight to the death, then there better be no regrets no matter who wins or loses at the end."

Utsuho laughs confidently and even goes as far as crossing her arms in front of her ands preading her wings beneath her cape to look as big and imposing as possible.  "Fuwa's got the right idea. It'll be an interesting race, then, seeing who gets to the Humagears first when they start getting cracked up by M... MetsubouJinrai."

She has to slow down on that last part.

Hibiki brings up a point that gets Rin's attention, meanwhile, as Go starts to elaborate on the differences between Humangears and Roidmudes. As he speaks, her ears (the cat ones) flick briefly, and then she squats in place while stroking her chin.

"Sounds like me and Okuu might be closer to Roidmudes than you humans, if that's the case. You humans do really funny stuff, you know? But it's not like we gotta kill you to know we're better, anyway." Rin's gloating doesn't last long, though, as Utsuho moves over to rub her knuckles against Rin's ears (the human ones) a bit forcefully to get her to squawk, then settle down.

"Hm... Orin's got a point, though. If that's what the Roidmudes are after, then maybe they just need someone better than humans to learn from. Someone that's already better than humans, right? Like..." Utsuho taps a finger to her chin, then looks over as X makes his exit as well.

"... He's pretty strong. Why not someone like him?"
Hibiki Tachibana     A feeling about him? She can't really imagine what that could be, at least not right now while she's still winding down. Furrowing her brow some (though not at that), Hibiki watches and listens to Go as he speaks, equal parts intent and a little...worried, maybe? It's a little hard to gauge her expression. By the time he's finished, her hands have dug deeper into her own pockets and her head is tilted down towards the floor.

"...Yeah. They don't," she has to admit to what he says at the end. "And I don't know what their end plan is, either. Chiroptera is the only one I've really had to go off of, and he's..." She recalls their fight. The less combative moments of it, like the break in 012's demeanor when speaking of Banno, or him relenting when it came to not attacking the innocents in the building anymore. "...maybe just hurt, too. It sounds like a lot of his kind also didn't get the luxury of a 'reset'."

This moment of Roidmude sympathy is accompanied by a very solemn air and look on her face, only shifting some when she looks up to Entrapta when she drops nearby. She opens her mouth as if to say something, by stops herself short and ends up simply tilting her head as she swings over towards X. Hibiki takes a moment to take in what she says, then looks back up to Go once more, looking a bit more leveled out. "About Chase. I think...it's worth talking with him next time we run into him. I'm going to try, anyway. If someone I cared about messed up...I wonder how many second chances to do better I'd give them, if I could..." She leans back in her seat, going quiet in introspection again. The Roidmude situation really is a lot more complicated than the one with MetsubouJinrai.net, she feels like...but even if it's hard, she wants to figure this out.
Go Shijima      "X..." Go pushes off of the wall and takes a step towards the departing maverick hunter.

As the door closes behind him, Go shakes his head. "You two... man." His shoulders slump, and he heaves a sigh. "You really have a knack for pissing my friend off."

He removes his hands from his pockets and points to his ears. "Those headpieces Humagears wear are only as prominent as they are... so that people don't make the 'mistake' of thinking they're human, right?"

His hands fall. "But Hiden still made them in human image for a reason. That's not nothing," he says, making a quick, firm, sweeping one-hand gesture. "It was a conscious decision on Hiden's part, and anyone who assigns human traits to them... they're just proof that part of the design works."

"Someone at Hiden wanted them to be treated like, or seen as, human, in some way... and it doesn't cost me anything to do that, especially when they're not consciously deciding to hurt people... like the Roidmudes are."

He strides over to the door and picks up his backpack, slinging it over his shoulder. "X is right. They might be full-blown people before you, the Cabinet, or anyone else is 'ready' for it, and your 'personal feelings' about that *do* matter--his, too. The same for all of us, because it's going to be all of us who end up in the weeds with them, not someone in a skyscraper office somewhere signing papers all day."

He adjusts the backpack. "That's why..." Hibiki's assertion that Chase's position is understandable, and Entrapta's, that machines ultimately behave as their creators influence them, bounce uncomfortably around in his head.

"That's why I'm not going to half-ass it," he says, nodding towards Utsuho. "I'm heading to Hiden to get their take on this. Later." He leaves, seemingly in a hurry to leave both the room and whatever's on his mind behind him.
Reliant Entrapta cocks her head slightly at Yua, her smile still present in spite of the tone of the exchange. She doesn't seem to get that part of it. "Things that we're not ready for, happen before we're ready for them all the time. Some of the best results that come out of scientific research are those that are totally unexpected. There's no need to get all bent out of shape about them!"

"Sometimes, being wrong is the best thing that can happen," she declares. Waving one-handed towards the room at large, she heads on out in pursuit of X.
X Douglas makes a dry expression and shrugs at Yua, "The same goes for us."

They had a job to do, and it would benefit them all if they worked together. They didn't need to agree with eachother to cooperate.

Lifesaver gives the containment unit for the Zetsumeriser and Zetsumerise key a soft tap with his hand to draw attention to it, "We'll leave this in the custody of the Special Cases Unit. Whatever happens to it now is up to the discretion of those relevant," he says looking between Tomari, Rinne and the Chief.

"Douglas and I will contact AIMS once we've finished analysis of the Progrise key and have something to show for it, both to share our findings and return the equipment." he informs Yua.

"Oh," Douglas says, pounding the bottom of his fist into his palm. You can practically feel the light bulb over his head, "We'll also see about getting some of you passes that will let you into Maverick Hunter Headquarters, so that collaborating will be easier on both ends."

That this does not include Entrapta goes unsaid, but thankfully doesn't come up as she bolts off after X. Go takes his leave, as well, as Douglas cranes his back slightly. "Weeeee~ll ... that could have gone better, but it could have gone worse, huh?"

    Lifesaver grunts.

"Yeah, that's a yikes from me." Douglas intones.
