Reyes     There is an odd medical request entered into the Aegis Astray. Reyes (no family name) has checked into the clinic. Thought to be a human, the injuries he sustained in a fight - coupled with a few gruesome bloodied pictures - include gunshots to both shoulders, being repeatedly smashed into the ground, a twisted ankle, and several broken or entirely missing teeth from a boot the face. Broken ribs might be expected among other things and yet...

Despite all expectations otherwise, by the time he was dropped off at the Aegis Astray, there's no sign of ANY of those injuries. The teeth were there, the wounds were seemingly closed with only pale, untanned skin that looked freshly healed where the holes had been. He certainly isn't suffering from a concussion... in fact, besides deep exhaustion to the point of being nauseated and dizzy, the typical medical staff couldn't find anything wrong.

    And that shouldn't be possible.

And so the situation's been escalated, because none of that really fits for 'human.' Reyes is all nerves and consternation about it.

    Some more expertise is required.

He's in one of the medical rooms, already wearing a patient gown, seated anxiously on the examination table. He's CLEARLY unfamiliar with the setting, too. Like he's never actually been in a hospital before and is baffled by the whole experience...

"Oh man, what's going on? I mean, being fine's better than having holes in m e and teeth missing but... how, how how how how..."
Warfarin     While Warfarin was one of the medical staff over in Rhodes Island... here on the Aegis Astray, she's taking on a more volunteer 'nurse' like area. She doesn't take the normal uniform here, keeping her own black outfit on to seperate her from the normal medical staff. "A... unique case huh?" as one of the other nurses explains what's going on. The non-plussed vampire girl makes her way off to the room, taking the papers off the clipboard and attaching it to her own.

There's a knock at the door, "I'm coming in." she warns... before heading in. Red eyes look down at the clipboard, then back up at the 'human'. "My name is Warfarin, interim nurse here. A pleasure to meet you... so." she taps her foot a bit, looking at Reyes curiously, "Supposed gunshots, broken bones, various traumas..." she takes another look, then sniffs the air a bit. "And yet... I can't even sniff some free blood out of there."

She looks back at the clipboard, "Reyes, huh." there's a fanged grin, "You're interesting."
Reyes     The moment that the door opens, Reyes looks over and...

Well, that's a sight Warfarin may or may not be familiar with, by now. The young man - who appears to be perhaps in his very late teens - has affixed her with a wide-eyed stare. Dumbfounded shock has struck, despite all of his exposure to what on his world one would call "D-Bees."

Ghostly pale skin, and vivid crimson eyes in stark contrast. Elfin ears. Slim, almost feline physique and silky silvery hair one would never expect to see sprouting from such a youthful physique...

Absolutely nothing about Warfarin is human. In fact, the boy gulps as what's clearly a fight or flight instinct kicks up. That, or he's just that suddenly smitten.

Thankfully, she speaks, and it shakes him out of that brief focus. He woozily slaps himself in the forehead and shakes his head to clear it, inhaling a few times and exhaling smoothly to clear his head.

Clearly, he's not some wild, rambunctious teenager. "Reyes... yeah...." Then the stare returns for a moment. Those fangs.

"I'd be lying if I didn't say likewise but... wild guess... Elf Vampire...?" His tone is trying HARD to stay composed. Obviously, he knows the Paladins aren't going to let someone into the med bay they don't intrinsically trust.

But it's clear this man is VERY leery of anything pale with fangs.

Another few calming breaths. "... yeah, I don't get it myself. I think... I think something similar happened when I was a kid, but memories are kinda fuzzy..."
Warfarin     "Sarkaz." Warfarin states, "Vampire sub race." stating this with a 'I've explained this too many times before' kind of way. "Relax. I'm ..." pause, a grin as she looks towards Reyes curiously, as if considering it. "not going to bite. I have some professionalism here." another beat, "I am but a guest nurse here."

"Drop the top please. I want to examine the supposed gunshot wounds." as she gets down to buisness, heading straight towards the bloodied clothing. "Hmm." picking up the shirt, taking a look at the holes... then towards Reyes shoulders, "Give me a brief synopsis of what happened." she holds up the shirt a bit of a ways in front of Reyes. "Tell me you didn't sign up to be target practice to some Laterano's..."

She brings the shirt up, taking a good sniff... "Hmm, interesting... interesting blood type." another sniff. "Has... a good..." she hmms slightly, "regenerative property to it. But that's about all to it." beat "And from the scent here, you seem to be a bit better built than baseline people."

Once she's done examining the shirt and comparing the body, she takes a look at the shoulders, pressing here and there, trying to find any sort of ... leftover bullets. "What was the weapon?"
Reyes     If Reyes was hesitant about the whole vampire thing, Warfarin's business-like attitude towards it has him responding without thinking, lowering the gown down so the extra material falls over his lap and his torso is bare. He's not terribly muscular, but his build is ideal for athletic endeavors if he were to train, by the look of it.

"I was an idiot and went and challenged what turned out to be a 'storybook pirate' to a duel and he somehow saw through my every move, broke my armor to pieces, slammed me into the ground a few times, it feels like tried to crush my ankle... and shot both shoulders with a flintlock pistol. Bullet went clear through... I thought... holes on both sides... even though no flintlock pistol has that kind of power, does it?" Well, he's not suuuuure sure. Who knows if Warfarin is.

".... sorry. Keep forgetting, Vampires from other worlds... not necessarily evil undead demons."

The wounds in the photos were nasty things scorched with gunpowder burns and quite bloody. The flesh there now is pinkish and fresh, healed.

He makes a FREAKISHLY embarassed face when she then decides to investigate his clothes. Which is hardly the kind of thing he'd expect any young lady to do. SO inappropriate! But...

He realizes... "... Oh. OH. I get it. Wait, regeneration in the blood...?" He makes a very weirded out face. It's in the blood? "Dad... what the heck is this... what didn't you tell me?"
Warfarin     "Some of my kin are that way." Warfarin states, listening to the 'story'. "Laterano people don't use flintlocks. So it's definitely not one of my worlds people. I don't know much about guns myself, I'm no mechanic... and I usually stay off the battlefield." she backs away a bit and moves to scribble some notes on the clipboard. "Your blood has a hint of magic to it, however... I'm not familiar with the magic of other worlds so I can't place it."

"The blood does smell delicious though, definitely powerful." she states with a matter of fact... and she perks, "I'd love to have a blood draw. Just a simple IV bag full." she smiles, "It's definitely unique, and without a good taste I might be able to help find out /what/ you are. You are, without a doubt, not human, just from everything I can smell and see. Such regeneration isn't normally found in normal human baselines."

"I'm afraid I can't say much more than that, but from initial checks... you look... fine. Your minor effects from all that... should be going away soon. We can keep you here a bit longer and I can get some of the more... regular nurses... to pescribe some small remedies to fix those issues. I'll still insist on a bag or two of your blood to... 'test'."
Reyes     Ooooooookay, that progressed into somewhat disturbing territory quickly. If it wasn't for Warfarin's enthusiastic and bright disposition, Reyes might have freaked out. As it is... there's that disarmed, stupefied look again. He's not sure how to interpret 'girl thinks his blood is delicious' at all.

It's awkward as hell. "Erm." Too many warring impulses, including the ingrained one TRY to be polite to girls. "If... if that's the doctor's orders." He finally admits, tensing up despite the intent to be cooperative. The boy really has NO IDEA what to expect from a VAMPIRE talking about such things.

"You think that'll help figure it out...?"
Warfarin     "Good. I'll schedule a draw later." she states, "As for now, you should be good to go... I can't see anything wrong with you, though I believe it's because of your regenerative capabilities. THere didn't /seem/ to be any leftover bullet in you from the flintlocks." There's some tapping of her foot. "It might, I can send a bag over to some more specialized departments, I think. One is for me to ... work on. See if I can figure out a few things with it."

There's another grin, "Partially to see how it tastes. Partially to see if I can use the regenerative properties to have some healing effects on people in my world suffering..."
Reyes     "This... did not go at all how I expected... thanks, miss.. Warfarin? I'll... uh..." Wow, WOW is it hard to address this sorta topic. "...okay I admit it, going about it that way REALLY weirds me out, but... you've figured out how to make your way in the world in a way I'd never have expected. It's kinda awesome to see. But those goals are totally okay with me, even if I'm kinda weirded out."

He is, however, still nervous, and admits, "Here's hoping whatever I actually am is something others can be comfortable with... diversity's hard sometimes."
