Ayako Hasekawa     In the big scheme of the Multiverse, there are many horrors that lie in wait. Things that threaten the very fabric of existance. Dangerous foes with even more perilous plans that could tear the world asunder. This is not one of those tales. No, not the first, nor the second. However, equally horrifying to those with some fashion sense, is one outfit that is currently being worn by one Eryl Fairfax. Yes, the dreaded silver jumpsuit. Perhaps no one knows exactly what the thought process was behind the ReGenesis Corporation's issuing of such an outfit to their messianic prototype, but clearly, something had to be done. And so the Multiverse's best hope would have to come from an unlikely hero. The crown jewel of commerce and consumerism. The endless market. Yes, the Terlawk Mall.

Ayako seemingly absentmindedly wanders through Terlawk Mall, although it is just a ruse. She is, in fact trying to find a good suit shop to look through. One hopefully not too expensive, but still appropriate for a certain someone's needs.
Eryl Fairfax     Eryl can't help but feel a little cowed by such a powerful symbol of commerce. Of course, he's found ruins of malls in his home world. But this place has so many people, goods trading hands with actual money, not the trading of goods...

Even so, it brings a smile to his face. Giving him hope that one day, he can see the same on his world. But, now is not the time for that. Now is the time to save both his dignity, and the retinas of those who have to look at him. His Union backpay burning a hole in his pocket, his eyes flicking left to right, taking in the stores.

"I must admit, this is a new experience for me, Miss Ayako. My last suit was scavenged together, so... I will defer to you on how to shop effectively."
Jonothon Starsmore     With all these stores in one place, no matter who you are, you're probably going to find SOMETHING here that appeals to you. Jonothon Starsmore is no exception, even as much as he's tried to isolate himself from the population at large. In Jono's case it's a music store! Not just a music store as in 'sells CDs', but 'music store' as in they sell musical instruments. Which would surprise no one who knew him.

He's currently trying out one of the guitars, running quickly through a set of scales to test the instrument's tuning. Finding it off a little, he turns the pegs at the top to tighten the strings. Well, figuratively, since the strings of this rather futuristic guitar consists of rainbow-colored light.

In contrast to the shiny metallic guitar, the brown-haired Jono's dressed completely in black-- t-shirt, pants, combat boots, and a coat over the lot. And not just that. He's actually covered even more than this, too. Strips of black cloth that look something like bandages, wrap around his face from just under his nose, down his neck, to cover his neck and what would be visible over the t-shirt.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako actually seems to have a fairly good eye for assessing stores at a quick glance. It seems to only take her about a minute of staring through the store's window display to determine if the store meets her pretty strict qualifications.

"Eehh... it is, Eryl? I take it... no shops where you're from... huh." Her gaze swings back to Eryl and she smiles cheerfully, "Oohh... you scavenged that together? You do have some nice fashion sense on your own then! And don't you say it was luck either. That kind of outfit doesn't come together so well by luck."

She nods her head once and returns towards looking at the stores. Her feet stop as she looks into one of the suit stores... and then she nods her head again, this time excitedly. "This one seems to be good!" Ayako eagerly walks into one of the shops.

Regina and Co. Tailors is one of those shops that specialize in suits. On the lower-to-middle price ranges, extreme quality isn't what is expected of the wares offered. Rather, quality that wouldn't look out of place going to a wedding, funeral, or to a fancy restaurant while the suit was still relatively new. No, the real allure to this chain's suits was how slowly they would deteriorate due to normal wear and tear. Of course, no matter how durable, a plain suit is a plain suit. Its definitely not armor!
Eryl Fairfax     "Hahahah. Well, I did my best. I drew on some recovered materials on how to co-ordinate outfits to make it look good." Eryl says, smiling sheepishly at the comment. Usually, the only compliments he gets are for driving off bandits or bringing in food, not for looking stylish. Well, having looked stylish before. But soon, once more, as Ayako makes a decision! Eryl chuckles and follows her in.

But then Original Face picks up something weird in a nearby musical store, a weird form of energy? He looks over for a moment and sees that it seems to be centered on a single man playing some kind of hi-tech guitar. He pauges at the store entrance and stares. Jonothon would likely spot the two, especially considering how godawful Eryl's jumpsuit is. Either way, having someone stare at you from a fair distance is likely a little worrying, especially when they wear something so bizarre.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles brightly, "Well, it shows! ...Showed." She giggles softly and then blinks her eyes when she notices Eryl pause. "Hmm? Something wrong?" Her footsteps take her back over to Eryl's side and she looks in the direction he is looking in. Of course, she has no idea what she's looking for, so she doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
Jonothon Starsmore     The assumption is correct, too. One of the notes Jono plays falls sharply out of tune, and he turns to look at the entrance of the store, where Eryl stands staring. Now that he's looking towards Eryl, the weird odd scars emanating from where his face is wrapped can be seen better. It almost looks like his skin has cracks in it, like cracks in marble.

Jono stays as he is for a moment, looking between Ayako and Eryl curiously, before putting the guitar back on its shelf. "...Somethin' I can 'elp yer with, mate?" Emanates from vaguely in Jono's direction. Despite not having gotten closer to them, his voice sounds as if he were standing right next to them. It's not muffled by the bandages, either. And a careful examination would note that his lips didn't even seem to move.
Eryl Fairfax     Eryl glances at Ayako and shakes his head a little. "Oh, nothing important. That man over there gives off a strange energy reading. Something I will have to get used to, I suppose."

But then, the man seems to 'speak' clearly over a huge distance! Eryl flinches and looks around. Original Face did not detect any sound waves eminating from him, but it did detect seemingly spontaneous firings of neurons in his temporal lobes, like he 'heard' something independent of actual sound.

Good. A telepath. And now Original Face is worried about all the potential causes for auditory hallucinations. "I'll be right back Miss Ayako," he says to the water spirit before crossing over to the instrument store. It would not do to yell, after all. "Er, apologies for staring sir. I picked up a curious energy reading from you is all."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako inclines her head to the side gently and smiles softly at Eryl. "Hmm... I see." She blinks her eyes when Eryl crosses over to Jonothon. "A-ahh... umm... alright." She just inclines her head to the other side as she watches the two of them curiously.
Jonothon Starsmore     Eryl doesn't have to go too far actually. The man with the wrapped-up face is willing to meet him halfway it seems. As Eryl strides over Jono offers a nod of greeting to Ayako before returning his attention to Eryl. The statement from Eryl gets a nod. "Yer 'ave energy senses?" He's not being sarcastic. He's completely serious. That sort of thing happens just in his world. God only knows what kind of extra senses people have in the Multiverse at large.

But Jono also confirms, "That's right. Not ter worry, your senses aren't buggered." His words also probably confirm that the man with the wrapped-up face not actually speaking. It's almost exactly as if he is though. Just... with his mind. If Eryl's curious and capable of picking this up-- even if it's just to observe with his eyes-- this young man has no heartbeat and doesn't breathe.
Eryl Fairfax     A grimice of pain appears on Eryl's face for a moment when he talks to Jonothon. Auditory hallucinations are one thing, but ones that actually carry a conversation with you are worse. However, it is not the man's fault, so Eryl mantains a pleasant smile the best he can. "Well, my eyes can pick up certain levels of energy," he explains, Original Face noting that he seems to be speaking to a radioactive corpse, advising him to get away. Not for the first time that day, he wishes he can turn it off.

"My name is Eryl Fairfax, diplomat for the ReGenesis Corporation, and on the hunt for a new suit. Yourself?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako just quietly watches and listens to the (to her) one-sided conversation.
Jonothon Starsmore     Jono frowns a little at the wince. Maybe this guy's particularly sensitive to telepathic communication? He 'lowers' his mental voice a little, though it's still understandable. "Sorry... too loud?" The introduction gets a polite tilt of his head. "Jonothon Starsmore. 'Jono' if yer prefer." He seems to be required to state some business too so he looks at the music store over his shoulder for a moment. "Saw that guitar in there and was lookin' at it."

He also seems to have noticed that Ayako looks a little confused. So he looks in her direction. "Not ter exclude yer, miss." He doesn't realize yet that she can't hear him.
Eryl Fairfax     Eryl shakes his head, smiling sheepishly. "No, your voice is fine. The issue is my brain can hear you, but my implants cannot understand why. They are worried I am experiencing hallucinations. I will be fine. A pleasure to meet you Jono."

He looks to Ayako himself and frowns slightly. She cannot hear him? Goodness, what if he is going out of his mind? At the very least, she seems to see him. "You cannot hear his telepathy, Miss Ayako?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako blinks her eyes quickly and then nods her head once. "Un. I'm sort of deaf to telepathy and similar mental effects." She smiles sheepishly. "It's kind of a long story as to why, but it's just the way I am." She bows politely to Jonothon. "Nice to meet you, Jono." And smiles awkwardly, but still cheerfully.
Jonothon Starsmore     Oops! Someone who couldn't pick up his mental 'speech' is something Jono's never come up against before. It wasn't strictly telepathy but was qualified as such because it worked similarly. He blinks looking confused a moment. "'Ang on," he notes. Then for Ayako's benefit he raises an index finger to indicate she should hold on a moment.

Thankfully Jono has a workaround for not being able to be heard. His radio picks up his telepathic transmissions. He fiddles with the device for a moment setting it to essentially 'megaphone' setting. His voice comes out of the radio speaker then. As normal audible sound. "This work better?" And then to Ayako, "Pleased ter meet yer, miss." He bows politely, recognizing the gesture.
Eryl Fairfax     "Oh, is that so? Well, I suppose I can relay what he sa-oh." His smile gets a little wider, now that he can talk to Jono without having his own mind worry that he is going insane. "Anyway, I once again apologize for bothering you Jono. Miss Ayako and I have our own shopping to do, so if you'll excuse us?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako's eyes brighten and she smiles happily, "Oh, much better. Probably for Eryl as well." She giggles brightly. "Thank you, Jono." She then startles visibly, "Oh oops. I almost forgot... I'm Ayako Hasekawa, a water spirit." A glance back to Eryl. "And yes! We have to do something urgently about that jumpsuit, post-haste!" She giggles brightly.
Jonothon Starsmore     Jono looks between the two and nods. "Sure thing. Sorry for holdin' yer up." This part's aimed mainly at Eryl and there's a bit of a teasing note in his voice, "And for givin' your senses the screamin' abdabs." He doesn't realize Eryl's a cyborg yet but whatever senses those are Jono at least knows he's given them a bit of a conniption fit.
Eryl Fairfax     "Oh, it was my fault for being rude," Eryl says dismissively, waving his hand. He bows his head to Jonothon before smiling to Ayako and gesturing towards Regina and Co.'s "Ladies first?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles happily at Jono, "Oh, not a problem! At least we both know what to do next time we speak with you, Jono!" She giggles softly and then waves cheerfully to Jono. Her gaze turns back to Eryl as she blushes lightly. "Oh, how gentlemanly." She nods her head once and enters the store with a light bounce to her step, with Eryl right behind.
