Zero Kiryu     Kvaland Inn
    The previous evening...

The little inn that Zero chose was older, and though purpose-built to be a hotel of sorts it was not a greatly robust one. A three-level structure resembling a greatly oversized house, it had accommodations that could be rented per bedroom or per floor. The lobby area was small and cozy, with common room seating, and a U-shaped countertop off to the side suggestive of a morning breakfast being available-- which was indeed the case. After a moment's consideration, he had elected to rent out a floor in its entirety. After reviewing the layout he chose the second floor, and organized everyone who was planning to stay outright towards their particular spaces within the floor.

Only one, relatively plain staircase connected the three floors save for an add-on fire escape bolted to the side of the building at the far end of the corridor. Gudrun was placed in a room on the far right end of the corridor and interior-facing, as far from convenient egress as possible. The room immediately next to it, nearer to the staircase, Zero claimed for Yuuki and himself.

Shortly after arrival, a tall sandy-haired golden-eyed man wearing a green shawl over a cream-colored jacket (that truthfully more resembled a dressing gown than a jacket, save that it buttoned up) turned up carrying a long bag. He had been greeted by Yuuki and Zero, who led him into Gudrun's room. They were in there for a good few hours before they emerged, discussing tattoos and some kind of medication that the man brought.

"It's late. Take that room," Zero said, gesturing just across the hall. They said their goodnights, which was full of meaningful glances that nobody outside this particular trio was liable to actually understand without doing probing that probably didn't seem necessary or contextually useful. Rather than retreating into his room, Zero vanished for a while, running some sort of errands which included moving clothes into his and Yuuki's room. They hadn't really 'packed' for this kind of trip.
Zero Kiryu     THE NEXT MORNING / NOW...

It is around 10:30 in the morning when trouble manifests at the Concord lodgings. The 'surprise' attack doesn't actually get to happen as-intended, because the sandy-haired man from the previous night comes out in the hallway and starts banging on the door of one of the empty rooms, "Excuse me! Is everyone alright in there?!"

This is entirely a ruse to wake everybody up who isn't already awake, and to get everyone gathered up... maybe not unobtrusively, but in a way that feels natural.

Zero emerges into the corridor disheveled and rather sleepy-looking, because he's a vampire and this is closer to when he GOES to sleep than when he wakes up. He glances in one direction and then the next, tracking... something. He makes a face, turns, and heads up the stairs without explaining anything.

"Z-zero, wait--" The sandy-haired man sighs, sagging in place. He points towards the far end of the corridor with the fire escape, "There's three people scoping out the building, probably other Dhamypr. Uhm, please don't kill them." Who the hell even is this guy?

The shriek of breaking glass follows simultaneously from two different directions. One from the far lefthand side of the floor with the fire escape, where a young woman with a battle axe has smash-rolled into the corridor and is coming up with the axe in hand. It's silvery in color, with a grip that has been wrapped in bandage-like cloth that trails off at one end.

The far right end of the corridor has a door between it and the nearest window because one of the common sitting areas is in there, but still the noise of breaking glass can be heard from within. Finally, a man holding a multi-section staff eases his way up the central staircase. By the time he's done so, the sandy-haired man who joined the group has crept back into his room and is watching through a crack in the door.
Zero Kiryu     Information Advantages

[Kukuru]: Your senses tell you that there are indeed only three attackers. Two of them are a little unsteady, but not in a physically off-kilter sort of way. It's hard to put a name to whatever is going on with them.

[Raziel]: There are no spirits here. Or more accurately, the spirits that wander through are of no great consequence. You suspect that nothing extraordinarily unhappy has happened in this hotel. While the ship is still in port you can observe the piano man watching, but it leaves a while before anything happens, and so does he.

[Sougo] & [Woz]: Hakan Okamoto is a Dhampyr, and a member of the Cambion Club. He's the leader of this strike force, and he's mostly here to get Odrun back safely. If she'd been dead, you're aware that this would've devolved into a deathmatch with him at least-- the other two are less important. Rookies. He's confident, and not without reason, but several members of your party could subdue him trivially if they went all-out. You need to drive him off without hurting any of them too badly; the ideal outcome involves being able to talk to the Cambion Club. If THAT goes to shit, everything goes to shit.

[Yuuki Kuran]: Three hunters. One powerful and competent, two middling in every way. One of them has two Fangs, and one of those Fangs is a lot stronger than the other. This guy probably won't lose to mental compulsions, though he doesn't have the stone wall of a mind that Zero does. You've known Dhampyr too long to think that one this riled up is going to not fight, at least some.
Captain Hook      Will Hook always wakes up early. It's a habit he formed young, when he was filled with irrepressible energy and hated to be in bed for any stretch of time. As he grew into a young man and that chidlish energy became a young man's grace, the habit became a pragmatic one - waking in the morning to ensure no red skies were near, and sleeping as lightly as possible in case a storm overtook the Jolly Roger.

So by the time 10:30 rolls around, Will Hook has not only been awake, but has cleaned himself up, made a smashing breakfast of eggs and bacon and Proper Tea As Befits A Gentleman, read the newspaper, had a walk, and on said walk taken another man's watch off his wrist to admire. He's sitting and admiring said watch when the sandy-haired man starts banging on the door, at which point he gracefully stands and goes to join the gathering ruse.

     Glass breaks.

Hook's cutlass is out before the glass finishes shattering. Shards flying towards him are knocked aside with incidental grace, as if it was nothing but reflex to him. He thumbs the guard of the cutlass thoughtfully as he dips his hook-hand into the handle of his flintlock and starts spinning it gracefully next to him.

When the intruders make their move, he's ready, sliding his blade in to clash with the girl with the axe. A dashing smile flashes across his face. "Good morning," he says, cheerfully, as though he was just having a muffin, "Though I generally prefer an introduction before a dance, I must admit, it's a somewhat bracing way to end the morning, wouldn't you agree?"
Raziel 'Bones are needed for rest, flesh is required to recline. I had neither of these, truly. Though I could 'rest' like any other mortal, I truly did not sleep or rest in any meaningful way. Though, perhaps, mental pursuits gave me a way to pass the time. Reading, and the like. Thankfully, I did not need the light to engage in these.'

Upon the man with the staff revealing himself, Raziel's door opened, and a burst of telekinetic force lashed out. Aiming to toss him back and against the wall while he walked out of the room.

'I heard the pleading of the old man, and I realized that I would have to restrict myself, if nothing else than to show mercy... but more to show the kind of world that Yuuki Kuran wished to deliver. That meant following her rules, and her kindness. Even if such things were not a world I was used to.'

He drew the Reaver, the blade attached to his very soul. However, he drew it with a slight hesitation than he would have before. Though it is likely Sougo and Woz knew the reason for his waryness of the blade. Still, it was the best weapon he had, and right now he could not afford to not fight at his best.

"I would ask for your surrender, it would be in everyone's best interest if you did so," he says to his opponent.
Kukuru Ever the sort of person to want to make the most of a work-related night, Kukuru hasn't slept in her room all night. She's certainly slept there for a few hours, but she's also taken a few naps here and there to take advantage of her time in Kvaland. She's slept on the roof of the inn itself to get a taste of things outside, she's taken a nap in the ocean to let the waves lull her into relaxation, and (after washing off the sea water and things that got caught in her hair) she's slept soundly in the bed in her room leading to this morning.

Naturally, she's still asleep by the time the man starts raising a ruckus outside. Muttering incoherently to herself, Kukuru swats around off the side of her bed before just rolling right off of it, only then waking up enough to notice that the source of all that sound is the sandy-haired man.

It takes another half-minute or so for her to get out of her room, pushing the door open with a hand and her face in a still-groggy state, eyes half-lidded, hair even more of a mess than usual, and completely forgetting to put on her smart-person glasses. "Mnh...? What's going on out here?" She asks with a languid yawn, groping around the wall to balance herself before finally realizing that the sound earlier was glass breaking.

Three intruders, two that seem off in a way. Maybe they can be reasoned with, or at least subdued in an easier way. With Hook going after one of them already, Kukuru heads the other way down the right side of the floor. Although her own movements might be physically off thanks to looking/being half-asleep, she straightens up relatively well by the time she comes across the one in the hallway.

"Hey... What're you doing this early? If you behave, we can still have breakfast and talk this out, okay? Otherwise..." She trails off as a vague warning while steadily approaching the one coming from the right, rolling her shoulders lightly to work out some of the aches before falling through the floor? No, she falls through a dark cloud that opens up beneath her, and she continues her descent from behind the attacker, hands coming down at the shoulders to slam down at them with little in the way of finesse or subtlety.

At least the actual touch from her hands would be gentle, even if everything behind them is anything but.
Timespace Riders      Woz rolls out of bed and gets dressed, while Sougo sleeps soundly on the other side, still under the covers. Looking over his shoulder as the sound of a fist beating on a door reaches the room, he smiles softly, despite the urgency. His scarf is the last thing to be put on, before he briskly walks around the bed and gently shakes him awake.

"Rise, my Demon King. There is something afoot."

"Mnh... good morning, Woz. ...who's banging on the door down the hall?"

"...good morning, sire. I shall take a moment to investigate. In the meantime, please get dressed as quickly as you can." He reaches for that mysterious book of his, which he'd stashed in a drawer on the nightstand. The retainer hurriedly cracks it open and begins speedreading.

Just a few moments later, both emerge, each with transformation belts in hand. Sougo sports bedhead and a hastily-thrown-on outfit, his canary yellow button-up sitting a little askew before he straightens it out. The shattering of glass spurs both into action, shaking the last of morning bleariness from Sougo. They both hastily fasten their belts, each procuring their respective Ridewatches; Sougo facing the left window, and Woz facing the right.

     "Henshin."

    "Henshin!"

RIDER TIME!KAMEN RIDEEER.. (RIDER..!) ZI-O--ZI-O!! II!

Amazing! Time! Future! KAMEN RIDER WOZ? WOZ?!

Zi-O, in the symmetrical double wristwatch-themed Zi-O II armor, wields a pair of swords whose blades resemble the hands of a watch, the larger of the two sporting a crossguard resembling his helmet's faceplate. He circles around to assist Hook, but is advised against it by Woz, holding a green-tipped spear with a touchscreen beneath the tip.

"Sire, leave them to us, and engage the one with the staff! The rest of you--strike to defeat, not to kill, regardless of your foe!"

"Got it!" Zi-O's helmet bobs once, breaking off to engage Hakan with Raziel. The Demon King lets out a cry of effort, leading with the longer blade to force a defensive use of the sectioned staff, while keeping the shorter one at the ready for deflections. His bladework is capable, if not particularly artful, and mixed in with a surprise superpowered roundhouse, before fading for Raziel to take a turn. He's used to fighting in twos.

Woz is, as well. "They are here for Gudrun," the retainer informs Kukuru, striding with staff in hand to kick down the door at the right end of the corridor, sending it flying towards whoever might be on the other end. "We know who you are, and why you are here," says the retainer, with a theatric sweep of his hand. He dips, slightly at the waist. "Immediate surrender is the wisest and least painful option.~" This is punctuated with a flourish of his free hand, fingers pointed at the foe on the other side.
Yuuki Kuran Being riled up right at the end of her night is something that Yuuki can never get used to, is cursed to simply tolerate like the harshness of the sun compared to reflected moonlight. It so often happens to her, and she is not hated completely by the sun, so she doesn't complain. And... most times it is her working too much, walking the oranging-waking line between twilight black and purple and following the things she chases into the goldenrod of day.

Often. But not this time. Having gently fallen still under covers and blankets and burrowed into pillows and comfort in a truly overwrought-for-sleeping-in arrangement of black lace about a nightgown, she had been ready to get back to things once their mystery blond guest had handled his business.

Instead she's awoken by the old friend via banging on the door.

Yuuki, in her (overwrought, cover-of-a-magazine) nightclothes opens the door from her room to the hall and peers red-brown eyes out after the blonde. "Aido? What's wrong? You're bang--"

The soft and tired-voiced Yuuki's automatic reaction to the blonde's banging about is caught up with by her awareness, the Dhampyr strike team breaking into the inn setting her to a mild startled-twitch and a swing of her eyes to the commander at the fore.

"Everyone. Take them alive if you can." As if it needed to be said -- the Partners knew, but saying it aloud set their terms loudly for the benefit of the hunters. "But you don't have to hold back too much. Attacking us at a residence? That's expensive."

'Immediate surrender is the wisest and least painful option.'

Yuuki smiles, her fangs showing in broad agreement, wakefulness hitting her. There's a part of her that really sort of likes this. "That's true! Have you broken in to surrender to me? Go ahead, go ahead!"
Zero Kiryu The young woman with the battle axe doesn't actually bring it to bear against Hook. She looks kind of perturbed that Hook is bothering her at all actually, grabbing a side-table next to a room that looks like it's probably for holding a room service tray and tossing catching the cutlass on the edge of it.

"HEY, HAKAN!"

"WHAT?" Comes a call from the opposite end of the corridor, through a door.

"This guy's not a vampire," The battle-axe woman says.

"AND?"

"My Fang's just gonna go through him," she complains.

"JUST PUNCH HIM, JANNA."

Janna shrugs, pulling down on the haft of her axe. It collapses inwards, forming a sort of mace-like structure that she attaches to her belt. She draws back and swings the serving table at Hook, "Got no idea what you're on about. I'm Janna, if it matters." This, more-or-less, explains what they were off-kilter about; there just aren't enough vampires in this building, or fight, for the other two's comfort.

Curiously, the interloper with connections to Yuuki and Zero doesn't actually look old at all-- but Raziel's assessment is correct. Kaien Cross is around two hundred years old. He probably doesn't need to be hiding behind a door, but... he has his reasons, for certain.

The staff-wielding intruder is tossed back against the wall of the landing by Raziel, hitting it and then the floor, but getting back to his feet and jumping up the height of the stairs without issue. The sectional staff he's wielding is whirled and brought about, hammering towards Raziel's legs.

The staff-wielding guy doesn't have the same 'what the hell' moment that Janna does because Raziel is 'close enough' to a local vampire for his weapon to crackle with malice towards the embodied wraith. It's not actually powerful enough to pierce his immortality, but he can tell that that's what these "Fangs" do; Yuuki and Zero's were known to the Concord for a long time. In this regard, each of these enemies is wielding a weapon like theirs, but a few steps removed.

Staff-guy is promptly ambushed from behind by Kukuru's portal-shunt, hammered forward into the opposite wall. He recovers quickly, turning and repeating the sweep that he directed towards Raziel. That's another element of 'off-kilter' with these two, they're not all that experienced at fighting evidently.

"Hakan" as it turns out is not the staff-guy, Hakan is the guy who came in through the closed common area. As the door goes flying from Woz's kick there is a flash of blade, bisecting the door -- it still batters him somewhat in passing -- followed quickly by the rising of a 1911 not dis-similar to Zero's old weapon. The muzzle flashes as it's fired several times at Woz; Hakan is apparently unconcerned with the possibility that he's shooting at somebody it might not hurt. Or maybe he's just making sure.

Sougo has a harder time with the staff-wielding guy; he's ready enough after the battering he's taken that he's able to deflect a lot of the swordwork, before coming about with a quick spinning-strike aimed at Sougo's head.

Down the hall, Janna-the-Dhampyr inexplicably reaches for her currently stowed axe without a clear prompt to do so and hurls it past Hook-- as it happens, she was just very aware of Yuuki's movements somehow and the weapon is whistling towards her as she steps out in the hallway. Much like the staff 'feels' threatening to Raziel, the axe would feel threatening to Yuuki-- though likewise it is not 'enough' to meet the threshold of threatening her life, in spite of being intended to do so.
Zero Kiryu These kids are too green, except for maybe Hakan. They're also not battered enough to be prepared to surrender. In fact, except for Janna, they're mostly not even polite enough to banter with you-- though both Janna and the staff-haver experience a sort of involuntary relaxation in response to Yuuki's commanding words. They're not as impervious to mind stuff as Hakan is, evidently. Their weapons pop and crackle on contact with them angrily, evidently responding to that moment's influence to try to shake them out of it.
Captain Hook      Captain Hook has had a lot of adventures in his life. He's been attacked with a lot of things - swords, guns, fangs, claws, darts, bows and arrows, fans - but he's never been hit with a table before that he can personally recall.

So when the lady does so, he is, understandably, quite surprised as he tries to parry his way through it and finds that strategy wanting.

He's knocked backwards by the sheer force of the blow, staggering slightly under the pressure. "A pleasure, Janna," he manages as he reels, "Though under better circumstances mayhap have been better."

When Janna goes to throw the axe, Hook moves to interpose - only for the axe to go right through him, and his sword. He blinks.

"Well," he says, "You were right, I see."

"Pity, that. Making me look a bit *foolish*, and Captain Hook doesn't appreciate being made to look a bit *foolish*, my dear lady."

Hook suddenly pulls his hook-hand backwards. It clicks against the trigger of the flintlock, which goes off with a deafening *bang* as flintlocks are wont to do. In the instant it does so, he unhooks his hand and swings said hook-hand for Janna's collar, to catch her on the sharp end and drag her face into his knee.

"Ought to surrender while you're behind, really."
Raziel The staff swings for Raziel's legs, but Raziel does something unexpected.  He steps forward as if daring the attack to strike him, but instead, he brings his blade up, catching the weapon and forcing it back.  The segmented staff, traditionally, would have an advantage in controlling his weapon...

If not for the fact the Reaver vanishes, and then reforms, allowing the staff to pass through it.  Raziel swings quickly, forcing the staff-wielding guy to deal with his advances, aiming to keep him occupied so Sougo can better read his moves.

Without any indication or instruction to Sougo, he thrusts once, attempting to force the man to dodge, before he brings his clawed hand out to once more release a blast of telekinetic energy and throws the man back.

Hopefully, Sougo would be able to capitalize on the teamwork.

"That won't kill me.  I am already dead.  I do not mean that in the cute 'I am a vampire' way, I am a ghost.  You are out of your league here, and if we had wanted to end this mercilessly we would have already.  You are fortunate that the mercy of Yuuki Kuran is vast, for if my sire were here, it would be devastatingly less so."

"I ask again, for your surrender."
Yuuki Kuran This, too, was part of Kuran Yuuki's '''design''', her simple answer to problems that the vampire elite stressed over. But what if the enemy has anti-vampire weapons? Why, really, it was simple -- have friends. Intersectional alliances!

She has a pirate and several Kamen Riders and a Kukuru. Even if Raziel, a fellow Vampire, was unfortunately endangered by helping her, he bore no greater risk than her. And his help was cherished, despite--

Yuuki's excellent poise and innocent-peering at the door is suddenly dispersed in inhuman movement. Her eyes flash red, pinpointing the sizzling axe from Janna midflight, and her legs crouch and spring back as a single sharp motion trailing a wave of her brown hair behind like the beat of wings. It claws at her still, trailing a red line across her forearm that does not close instantly, blood drooping and slowly dribbling onto the carpet, her control momentarily marked. Even weak, a Fang was a Fang.

Enraging, though the long-haired Yuuki in her nightgown wears it with a hunched-shouldered forward cant of quiet, staring-eyed seething. Then, shoulders back, she regains her poise with a light flip of her hair, palming over the wound and licking the loose blood off her hand.

"Fine. You want to be handled rough?" Yuuki's eyes flick to Captain Hook. "Will. Subdue her." She orders, and William receives a blooming spinal thrill of compelled-victory, a vital flash from the order. Yuuki had been telling people to win for her for years - she was quite good at stroking the spirit, enflaming dramatic passion. She was a queen, of course!

And with her regality, Yuuki steps out into the hallway to a dresser-cabinet set with a small shelf of books, plucking a hardcovered spined tome off the set and spinning it once in hand. Turning towards Janna, Yuuki chases her command towards Hook with several more too-swift steps, imparting a bullet-like momentum in her reading material that she fastballs into Janna's chest.

"Surrender to him now or me later, hunter!"
Kukuru Landing rather heavily from that abrupt attempt at dropping in on staff-guy from behind, Kukuru has to balance herself with her hand before starting to get back up just in time for him to take a swing at her legs. She's lucky her arm is still in the way, then, as it slams right into said arm with what might be a satisfying impact noise and a sharp yelp of pain.

It certainly wakes her up, at least, and she pulls herself right back up while her arm glows briefly with her nanites working to clear up any bone fractures there might be from blocking that hit directly. "Ow ow ow... That's dangerous, you know! What would you do if someone that wasn't us got caught by something like that?"

Even in the middle of a battle, Kukuru's taking a tone more like a teacher scolding an unruly student rather than someone actively fighting to subdue a potential assassin or... What /are/ these kids here for, anyway? Gudrun, it seems, as she nods slowly towards Woz when he clears up that detail for her.

"Surrendering would be good, too. We're not supposed to kill you, but if it happens by accident..." It sounds like Kukuru's issuing another threat at first, but the questioning look that forms on her face as she looks over at Yuuki and Zero suggests otherwise. "I can still fix them and it'll be okay, riiight?"

It's still not clear if she's actually holding back or not as she starts lumbering towards staff-guy again, hands held open as though she's readying to slam her palms into him again. Her approach is rather predictable as, like before, she falls into another portal in front of herself. Instead of appearing behind staff-guy again, however, she instead appears behind Hakan after he lets loose with his handgun.

"That's dangerous, you know. Cut it out, or you might hurt someone." She warns, perhaps giving herself away just before she dips lower to the ground, both arms coming around his waist. She tries to grab him with both hands locking together, then twists around to use both her strength and body weight in an attempt to smash him into the ground beneath her.
Timespace Riders      Sectioned staves are a difficult weapon to use, and more difficult to defend against--that they're not entirely flexible means that the low-braincell idea of 'shrimply wind it around something and pull, fivehead' doesn't work. Zi-O's shorter blade comes up reflexively to block the spinning strike, and the weapon bends around the blade, blunting but not halting the attack. The segment strikes his helmet and sends up a shower of sparks, eliciting a groan of pain as he bends slightly from the impact.

Not one to be discouraged, the Demon King funnels the force of the staff user's blow to turn into a roundhouse kick aimed likewise at the head, before following up with a back kick aimed at the center of mass, just as Raziel blasts him with telekinesis.

Meanwhile, the fight between Woz and Hakan has progressed into the hallway. The pistol fires, and Woz takes a few rounds to the chest, staggered from the impact as sparks fly, creating space between the two of them. In the process of finding his balance, he strikes a potted plant with the haft of his spear, sending it flying for the leader of this little ambush and buying him a scant few seconds to switch forms.

Future Time! Genius! Odious! Imperious! Futurering Dragonfly! DRAGONFLY!

He is enveloped by brass-colored gears as a holographic laser printer forges the new armor onto his body with a suite of green lasers. The blue katakana on his helmet's smartwatch-themed visor are backlit and their shape is changed slightly, giving the helmet an almost disappointed expression.

Dark grey wristguards and vambraces form lightweight, aerodynamic lines with a light blue breastplate and pauldrons, each of the latter, left and right, sporting Dragonfly's distinctive frown. The final touch is a dark blue minimalist decoration set horizontally across the armor's neck in imitation of both the classic rider scarf and a dragonfly's wing, in shape. He charges Hakan, making a leaping kick intended to bowl the man over, before hurriedly tapping a button on his spear's touchscreen--a laser emitter over a light blue background. Tapping it, the spear's blade changes to the depicted laser emitter, thus announcing:

                                UN-BEAM-LIEVABLE!

The head of the laser emitter, all the way down to the touchscreen, rockets off of the haft, buzzing Hakan as an attack unto itself. The haft, meanwhile, flies out of Woz's hand, affixing itself to his right pauldron as a sort of brace for the emitter to land upon and fasten to. A yellow laser, perfectly nonlethal, blasts Hakan, not only sapping strength but creating a noxious smell that is actively draining to be subjected to (not unlike the alarmingly noxious scent of burning plastic).

"You only make this more difficult for yourself," calls the retainer over the din of battle.
Zero Kiryu "Can't say I'm too terribly pleased to meet somebody in a rescue mission either, but--" Janna shrugs vaguely. She seems to be taking the greeting as well as could be expected. Dhampyr, as noted in the primers, really don't think of fighting as quite as violent as it actually is. She blinks when he tries to intercept her axe, straightening up a bit and lifting her eyebrows quizzically. It's not that she wouldn't take a weapon for some allies, but still-- it's a hell of a thing to try to do.

"You seem a bit mad, Captain," she comments. It's not altogether negative, going by tone.

Immediately afterwards a lot of confusing things happen and she's kneed right in the face. Although she manages to worm her way out of the grab fairly quickly, the noise it makes and the amount of blood coming from her nose is highly suggestive of it being broken. The fact that she reaches up and ADJUSTS it with an equally gross noise confirms it.

She responds by whipping off her belt, which bears a heavy buckle PROBABLY intended for improvisational weapon use exactly like she's about to, and brings it about towards Hook's kneecap.

"Not much point in that," she sniffs sharply, "Cambion are always fighting from a position of weakness." Which explains why she really doesn't mind just carrying on like this, among other things.

The man with the sectional staff doesn't look all that surprised by the Reaver being able to become intangible. Judging by Yuuki and Zero, 'weird shit weapons' is just a thing here. On the other hand, that doesn't mean it's not a PROBLEM-- and he's not completely untrained, either. When he gives ground he maneuvers his back away from the stairs and towards a wall-- though this eventually puts Yuuki at his back.

Rather than dodging the thrust, he catches the reaver's point in the links of the staff and begins to twist it away-- only to be caught by the telekinetic blast and hurled past Yuuki, into the door beyond.

Something that Raziel says as he catches his balance again gets his attention, though. He frowns, and looks at Yuuki, and then back to Raziel.

"Vampires aren't dead, though," he says, simply.

Hakan points his gun away from Woz and fires towards Raziel, trying to take the pressure off of staff-guy, who has a name that simply hasn't been relevant yet. From his back he draws a kodachi, advancing forward.
Zero Kiryu Janna looks a little baffled at how much Yuuki takes the axe in stride. "Damn. Uh, Hakan, I think you really might have mis-estimated this o--" She is slammed in the chest with a book, which is good because it's not her already-bloodied face, and bad because the breath is knocked out of her. She also just THREW her weapon and it isn't a conveniently returning type.

Which is why staff guy knocks it back into the air with his staff, snatches it out of the air, and throws it at Yuuki's back.

Kukuru teleports behind Hakan, who seems to know that she's going to do that. She doesn't manage to get her arms around him, because he's already moving forward, so she has to turn the slam into a more improvised one-- he handles it well, tumbling forward through the impact and coming back up. Simultaneously he had jabbed his kodachi backwards, creating a counter-attack in the moment of his defense.

By now, Janna's nose has stopped bleeding. So they're regenerative, but not THAT regenerative on the whole.

Staff guy gets kicked firmly in the head, by now driven into the corner next to Gudrun's door-- he shakes his head in aggravation at the concussion this probably just gave him, and blunts the chest-aimed blow by bringing the middle section of his staff into it. Immediately after he pulls the joint into a hooking position and tries to use it to throw Zi-O across the hall.

UN-BEAM-LIEVABLE actually gets a snort out of Hakan, who gets hit by the laser beams in this moment of brief amusement. Unlike the others, who really just seem to take their licks and try to recover half-successfully, he rises from his Kukuru-induced roll-kneel and seems to summon some kind of inner strength that relieves him of much of the burdens that had been imposed on him.

He dives forward and dips his kodachi in droplets of Yuuki's previously spilled blood, which sinks into the surface of the metal seamlessly, before bringing it in a rising vertical strike that begins at the knee and travels up towards Woz's helmet.

Zero is standing on a nearby rooftop across the street, arms folded across his chest. The grass has been filled with 'weeds', and he's just... waiting. Evidently he left in order to cut off escape routes. He shuts his eyes in aggravation when Yuuki starts to bleed.

What a nuisance... his voice echoes in the back of her mind, because he's not close enough to verbally communicate.

//Surrendering would be good, too. We're not supposed to kill you, but if it happens by accident...//

No. Stop listening to people giving you bad advice. It's not really intended as a "command" as such, but Kukuru has accepted power from Zero, and Zero's will towards her takes a certain minimum precedence over her own. It takes an effort to shrug off, if she even cares to do so.

After a moment or two, he adds, Throw that axe out the window.

    INSIDE...

Gudrun's door cracks. She looks out into the hallway, and then across it at the other cracked door that Kaien is looking out of. They stare at each other through the carnage.
Captain Hook      "Aye aye."

He didn't *need* to say it, but something about the little thrill of energy, the little boost of passion, brought it out. It brings out a wild grin, too, the grin of a pirate in the thick of the fight who knows just how damn intimidating it is to meet a one-eyed man with a hook hand and a cutlass when you weren't expecting such a thing. The gentlemanly demeanor doesn't fade, but as he sweeps the cutlass forward there's a look in his eye that brings with it a whole new, horrible sort of pressure.

Hook's hook swings around to catch her belt. It's exactly like getting your belt or pants-buckle caught on a passing drawer - unexpected, and unlike a human grabbing an item, completely without reactivity to let you know it's been grabbed. "Ah, ah. Not angry, my dear lady. Anger is something you use for someone who deserves it."

"But I've been told to make you surrender, and frankly, I should prefer to make you surrender."

     His eyes flash. "Else, well..."

"Tick, tick tock goes the crocodile clock," he says in a sing-song, musical tone, "Surrender before it comes to a halt, for I've not a qualm nor a pause in my heart, when it comes,"

He gives a tug on her belt as Yuuki hits her with the book and knocks the wind out of her. He drags her closer, his face right next to her ear as he whispers,

     "To tearing you apart."

And then he's behind her, dragging his hook - and her belt - upwards to get the thing around her neck and just start strangling her. It's a brutal means of fighting that ill-fits a gentleman, and a brutal reminder that Hook is just a normal human. Fighting dirty is *how* he fights these sorts of people.
Raziel "Right... right.." he is reminded that Vampires here work differently.  "Forgive me, something I'm used to after being in the greater multiverse for a while.  Ignore that particular comment..." Raziel says, apologetically.  During all of this, Raziel has taken a defensive posture near Yuuki and looks ready to defend what he can.

This includes the axe as it swings from a different direction, aiming to thrust a telekinetic blast at it to try and deflect it away, though he does more than change its trajectory.  Gunshots fire at him, and the Reaver moves swiftly, sending the majority of the shots around him.  Though a few get through, glancing off of the skin on is out body.

Yuuki makes a suggestion.

'We have a Kukuru.'

"Very well, then I will take this with the utmost seriousness.  I want to remind you, however, that you forced my hand," he says and draws the Reaver up.  He draws upon his telekinetic force again, and this time aims to wrap it around the three of them.

He draws them all in at once, aiming to throw them at him as he grips the sword.  There is a flash of wind, the element of the reaver changing, as he slashes repeatedly in the span of what might be considered seconds.  The wind-augmented reaver releases a powerful blast of wind, aiming to send the three of them on different paths again, but aiming to violently throw them against the walls.

The Reaver is pointed down again, and Raziel remains in a very focused stance.  "I am ready to do this again."
Kukuru Kukuru's struggle with Hakan ends up with her getting a kodachi right through the gut, drawing yet another pained shriek from her. Thankfully, he pulls it out sooner rather than later, but she's left gasping for air briefly while her regenerative powers work overtime to stitch those wounds back together relatively quickly. Her sleeping shirt is still ruined from all the blood, though, but at least everything else stays where it should!

Still, it's not a hit she'd like to take again, and Kukuru has to push herself back up with her hands while she hears Zero's voice in the back of her head. It certainly doesn't come across as a command as it does a helpful suggestion, but that's more than enough for Kukuru to comply readily. There's another moment of confusion when she's about to audibly agree and notices that Zero's nowhere to be seen, but that's nothing to worry about.

She just needs to make sure she plays her part so whatever he's got planned goes right. Turning her attention to Janna, Kukuru starts running right for her. Her footsteps aren't exactly silent, but her approach changes once again! Instead of teleporting behind her or Hakan or staff-guy, this time...

She doesn't teleport at all! She just keeps running right at Janna-no, Yuuki-no, Hakan-no, Yuuki again. She's getting a little worn out trying to keep track of it so much, but Raziel's attempt to blast it off course might be just what she needs to finally get rid of it. Eventually, Kukuru does just go for the tried and true teleportation method to try and intercept the weapon, chucking it right out/through the nearest window at full force if she can get a hold of it. She's leaving behind plenty of healing nanites in her wake, too, directing it into her allies to give them an extra edge in their fights with the attackers.
Timespace Riders      This alternate form of Woz's seems much more tuned for agility than the one before. As such, despite his surprise at Hakan's persistence, he is able to evade the vertical strike with a fluid juke to the right. What he can't evade, however, having already committed to motion, is the flying, flailing form of his king.

     "Uwohh! Look out, Woz!"

It's too late--the Demon King collides with his retainer, sending them both tumbling to the ground following a shower of sparks from the hard-hitting impact. It's enough to wind Woz, which is probably why a second Zi-O appears in a flash of pink, wielding the SAIKYO JIKAN GIRADE--or, put simply, both swords combined into a single greatsword.

This second Zi-O strikes with the flat of the blade, swinging from the hip in an effort to restrict Hakan's ability to swing his own sword. He follows immediately with a shout of effort and a shoulder check, giving his present-time counterpart and Woz enough time to get to their feet. He disappears once this is done, followed shortly after by the present Zi-O combining both swords and traveling a few seconds into the past.

Woz opens up, in the meantime, with a surprise finishing strike, quickly opening and closing the green gate at the side of his Beyondriver.

                                 Beyond the Time!

The laser emitter on his wrist burns a captivating lightshow into the air before Hakan--printing over the space of a few seconds, several hardlight, golden Woz-es, each one a different frame of a flying kick, until the last one, just a foot from the retainer, is printed. The hallway is briefly full of that acrid, burning-plastic smell, before Woz leaps into the air.

The first hardlight imitation of him shatters, reforming into a corona of light, which grows brighter and further increases his speed until his form loses all visible distinction by the time the one a foot from Hakan is broken. The divekick's impact discharges all of the stungun's energy into Hakan at once, with a spectacular burst of light.

                               Dragonfly Explosion!
Yuuki Kuran Having sicced William on Janna, and fastballed some reading material at the woman staunchly refusing to read in general, Yuuki dusts her hands firmly, eyes half-lidded in a proud and confident smirk. She gets Janna good.

"Yes, maybe you *have* mis-estimated me. Mis-estimated all of us. Shot like a gun at us, thrown like an--"

--the axe in question takes quite a path around, forgotten as a threat by Yuuki after it clatters to the ground and she advances past it, and is picked up just to be hurled at her back. This one, even with all the aid and overwatch and slapstick towards surrender paid to the erring-attacking hunters, actually axes her in the back and staggers her, a blooming red scent of hit. Even the smallest drop feeds a Fang greatly, and the lesser axe bites down into the meat of her just under her right shoulder. Then, to the rookies, the 'resistance' becomes obvious.

Raziel had already scented this before, in Priscilla's world, and other places. The intoxicating richness of Kuran Yuuki's blood.

Heaving with breath, Yuuki snaps her gaze about, wheeling just inside the room with Janna about to the hunter that did it, and only seeing Kukuru racing after the hateful-hungry edge.

"Woz!" Yuuki calls while the empowered Kodachi goes after the green-and-blue-smirking warrior. "Sougo!!" Yuuki carries on, the staff guy going in on the pair to send Rider crashing into Rider.

Much like Kamen Rider "Woz" Woz, Kuran Yuuki has had quite enough of this. With the flashy, bright, loud and colorful explosion that the Kamen Rider unleashes on Haken going on in snapshots of time, Yuuki in a blur of red-eyed speed slides through the finisher animation like black smoke across a white field until her pale hands lunge out for the back of the Staff Guy's neck, tumbling and riding the man down by the scruff of his collar and neck and imparting all her sudden momentum in arresting Mr. Staff Idiot.

"Do you think attacking through us asking nice is free? Do you know who you are attacking? Do you have a clue? I *know* you don't!" Hisses Yuuki, trying to get the man to tap out on pure hold-down-and demand.

"I know you can *smell* how badly you've messed up!"
Zero Kiryu Janna is having a real bad time, and doesn't actually have the time to catch her breath to answer Hook properly. She's quick to react in spite of that though, and gets her hand between the belt and her neck as it starts to constrict. Even if she wasn't on the edge of being strangled though, she's pretty winded. Even if she's "stronger" than Hook, her stamina isn't that much different than a human's. Especially after having the wind knocked out of her.

"Nope! Nope, I'm done," she says, sucking in a harsh breath and ragdolling purposefully. This is half to make it inconvenient for Hook to actually maintain control of her AND strangle her, and half because she's tired. "This battle plan's like taking a piss while running. Gudrun is cool but she's not worth brain damage."

Hakan holsters his gun and grabs the staff-wielding man by the front of the shirt. At first it might look as if he's intending to use his ally as a shield, but in fact-- he whirls in place as Raziel's telekinetic wind burst occurs, and HURLS the sectional staff wielder back out through the common area window using the force of the telekinesis to amplify his own strength. For his trouble, he's also slammed into a wall and drops the kodachi he was holding.

Staff guy is GONE though. Might have a bit of a rough landing.

Hakan is quick to recover, snatching up his sword and moving to face Woz. There is an unusual perturbance in the air, one that Yuuki in particular is familiar with-- the weapon that imbibed her blood is starting to evolve in the midst of this conflict, and while the one that he threw to safety and Janna are firmly defeated, THIS one has reserves remaining.

The mass of the kodachi expands, metal like liquid mercury sliding away from its hilt and spreading out across Hakan's right hand. It adopts an ornate, gargoyle-like facade that curls into vicious talons at the tips of the fingers, and continues to spread up along the shoulder. Before long a full breastplate has established itself, and sleek batlike wings jut out from the back. This seems to be where it stops, because it doesn't cover the left arm or continue to produce further armor.

The left wing meets Sougo's sword in a clash that couldn't have been expected a moment ago.

The kodachi is brought about in a-- no, it's not a parry of a kick, he hooks it around the back of Woz's ankle and drags him IN, spinning to the side and stepping in to Yuuki's pursuit of ejected staff-guy, the right metallic wing spanning the hallway forcing her sudden grip down on him simultaneously with Woz kicking/electrocuting the hell out of him.

Hakan doesn't prevent a single iota of the damage being put out into the world, but he DOES make certain that it is centered on him, and only him. And in the end, with hands around his neck, an arbitrary amount of TokuVolts running through his system, and an entirely separate swordsman harassing him...

He still has enough energy to re-draw his gun. If it doesn't remind Yuuki of somebody, she's not thinking clearly enough.

But...

After a moment or two of considering it, Hakan lets his arm flop to the side and exhales sharply. It wasn't his sheer capacity to endure that was taxed in the end, but the energy that he had left to actually try to attack them all.

"I'm not that kind of Cambion," Hakan replies to Yuuki, sourly. Which is to say that he cannot, in fact, smell how badly he messed up.
Zero Kiryu     OUTSIDE...

Zero watches an axe fly out into the street through a broken window. A flower on the sidewalk drags it into the weeds, where it vanishes entirely.

A moment later he watches Magnus fly past and skip along the pavement a good distance down the road before actually finding his feet, his eyes dull and unfocused. He's not ignoring him, he just had no intention of actually stopping a runner from... running. Growths chase along the streets, small blooms appearing in cracks in the paving stones and personal gardens.
Captain Hook      The instant Janna surrenders, Hook dips his hook-hand down low enough for the belt to come undone and let her go. He goes to fetch his flintlock and dusts it off with a great deal of affection (and a handkerchief fetched from his suit pocket), clearly more concerned with that than her continued existence or lack thereof. Once that's done, he stows it, wipes the blade of his cutlass clean with the same cloth, stows the cutlass, and tucks the cloth back into his suit pocket - with a little bit of her blood still visible. A grisly little reminder and a grisly little warning framed in a charming, gentlemanly manner.

"Right, then! Much better. Think I ought go fetch some lunch," Hook says chipperly, "Works up an appetite, fighting the enhanced, especially after my walk earlier."

He is in fact way too chipper for a man who more or less just nearly strangled somebody, but, well, Hook knows how to turn the charm off and on again. "What say we all let bygones be bygones now that you lot have surrendered and you tell us what we want to know over said lunch, because I'm quite certain we'll want to know things, and I'm quite certain you'll tell us, so we may as well make it pleasant for all involved rather than unpleasant for some involved, mmm?"
Raziel Raziel smells something.  That /rich/ blood causes him to seize up for just a moment.  Long enough to remind him he's no longer a vampire, and as a spirit, it would do nothing but make him upset again.  It's still a gut reaction, an instinctual urge that even being dead does not kill.  He settles down, closing his eyes and retracting his posture to something more reasonable.

Settled again, he hears what he wants to hear in the surrender, and the Reaver becomes air again, settling to wrapping around his arm.  His twin soul, bound and twisted around his arm like a sentient parasite.  He doesn't quite relax his guard, simply standing just behind and to the right of Yuuki.

"You should perhaps listen, instead of being unreasonable.  If we were intending on being unreasonable, you wouldn't have a comrade to rescue... assuming that is your intention."
Kukuru With the axe successfully yeeted away, Kukuru lets out a relieved sigh before bracing herself to take another heavy blow. Is it going to be from a staff? A sword? A bullet? None, apparently, as Janna finally relents, staff-guy goes through another window, and Hakan transforms his arm before seemingly ending his own hostilities as well. She's still bracing for something as she approaches the latter cautiously, eyes flitting between the attackers and her extended family cautiously.

Hook's good cheer over the matter eventually ends up being too infectious for her not to smile a little, though, as Kukuru brushes her hands off on her sleeping t-shirt and breathe sout another heavy sigh. "That's better. You really could've listened to us sooner and avoided all this trouble, you know. I wouldn't mind leaving it at this so you can tell us what we wanna know while we get something tasty, but..."

She turns to Yuuki afterwards, partially to give her her full attention, and partially so she can cover her mouth while yawning rather loudly. She doesn't do a good job covering it, though, so Hakan and Janna can both get a clearer look at all those jagged teeth she never had a need/chance to use earlier. "What do you wanna do, Yuu-ki? Ze-ro?"

She sniffs the air once, too, trying to notice what smell Yuuki and Hakan are talking about as though it's a literal thing.
Timespace Riders      Zi-O and Woz both remove their Ridewatches, becoming Sougo and... Woz.

"You're really persistent," says Sougo with some admiration for Hakan. "And you really care about your friends, huh? I think we'll get along really well, then. I'm Sougo. This is my retainer, Woz."

"Your chicanery deprived me of a not insignificant treasure, Hakan Okamoto." The retainer purses his lips. He wanted to stay in bed with Sougo. "Be grateful that my Demon King and Yuuki Kuran both desire clemency."

"Don't worry about him," says Sougo, shaking his head softly. "How much do you know, about what happened to Gudrun? I'm guessing she's why you're here," says Sougo.
Yuuki Kuran Yuuki, reflexively, sees someone moving in a specific way, and her fingers twitch, and her hands ease off, and she can't find any need for the strength to push past the all-on-me laggard guard of Haken.

She doesn't even have to say 'enough'. It was Kamen Rider, and her Partners who she told specifically. And if anything even remotely accidental happened - they had a Kukuru.

So Kuran Yuuki, dressed in black lace and butterfly ribbons, bleeding down her back from where the fed axe had bit deeply (yet, already healing - like a nasty gash and not a mortal wound already, despite the baneful qualities of the Fang), stands up and back.

"Will is correct." Sighs Yuuki, closing her eyes and raising a hand, loose-wrist, tight to her chest. Fingers curled, she checks her nails to be the picture of a casual self-inspection. "You should, perhaps, listen. Because I'm the queen of vampires, and you've attacked the accomodations of the Concord. The president of the association and I are handling this matter internally."

The president of the association is doing a gag bit in the hallway with Gudrun, actually. But shhh. The next president is outside disappearing axes.

"If you're here for the girl she's under our protection." Kukuru's question gets Woz's answer. "Clemency. Mercy, and not just tonight, but every night. A world with more kindness and Kukurus, and less crying and bleeding and falling asleep."
Zero Kiryu "There's a kanelbullar place two streets over," Janna says to Hook. She seems entirely unperturbed by the violence that immediately preceded this little exchange. But she's not moving, because she doesn't think she's actually at liberty to. She rubs at her neck, puts her belt back on, and replies to Raziel, "You don't really have all the Moomins in the valley, do you? This is our territory, of course we would rescue one of ours and not waste words in doing it. Anyway, being willing to take prisoners doesn't mean anybody is reasonable, there's lots of reasons to do that."

"Hey, Gudrun-- ouch," she winces at the soreness of her throat, "You okay in there?" There's a vague affirmative from behind the door.

//What do you wanna do?//

Taking this many prisoners is a nuisance. Dress them down, but let them go. We achieved our objective, but we won't be acting on it until night at earliest. Comes Zero's voice, drifting through Kukuru's head. It's in Yuuki's, too-- and anyone else who has accepted his power.

Hakan shuts his eyes, his sword retracting into a... sword. He sheaths it and holsters his gun. "Hakan. That's Janna. The guy who got away is Magnus. And yeah... more accurately, we don't abandon ours to predators if we can help it." Which is to say, he doesn't want assumptions made about his exact relationship with the people he tried to rescue.

He cracks an eye. "Fuck on your own time. I came at an inconvenient hour for a vampire, but too many of you aren't. What a nuisance..."

"... Ah? No, we just saw you bring her into town and could sense the vampires among you," he explains. "Just what... happened to Gudrun to make you ask that?"

Although he's telling the truth, and not lying by omission, he IS affiliated with the Professor. Given what happened to Gudrun, they might not actually know what that woman is up to, though...

When Yuuki releases and moves away from him, he doesn't move. He is actually just that spent.

Hakan looks off to the side, dull-eyed, once again a little too familiar. "Cambion Club's not the same as the Association. We've been too far out for too long. And it should go without saying that 'queen of the vampires' isn't really an authority to us."

Yuuki starts talking about mercy, and kindness, and less crying. Hakan mouths a 'what the hell'.

Finally, the sandy-haired man -- Kaien Cross -- opens his door and comes out in the hallway. He smiles apologetically.

Hakan grimaces. "And in what way is she protected, exactly?" As he already established, while he's involved, he doesn't know the plot.
Timespace Riders      Woz rolls his eyes at Hakan. It's the least impolite he can expect, for the moment.

Sougo frowns, he looks over his shoulder at Gudrun's door, then pulls out his phone. Better that I explain it this way, in case she overhears something.

"Just a sec," he says to Hakan, typing out a text on the bulky Smart(brain) Phone.

A brief summary of what happened is displayed on the screen for Hakan. It covers Gudrun having her memories altered, being lied to about the nature of her implant, and the tendency of the tampering to worsen retroactively, if anyone brings up certain trigger words. It's all he can fit on the screen. After Hakan has read: "One more thing," says Sougo, before deleting all of it and adding mention of the inherent cruelty of that implant, plus what the Concord did to keep her from succumbing to her literally impossible to sate hunger.

"...and that's about it, really. We're not out to hurt anyone. We're just trying to make a kinder world, like Yuuki said. It's just that... some people tend to get upset, when they smell that kind of thing on the wind." The Demon King sighs.

"Anyway--we need her. She's our biggest lead, right now, into a pretty important summit being sabotaged."
Raziel Raziel stares at Janna for a moment, frowning.  There is perhaps a passing look of sadness at her comment.  Obviously, he thinks she's talking nonsense when she mentions Moomins.  Though he DOES piece together what he thinks she is trying to say.

"Why would we walk into your territory, with your friend, if we were trying to do something untoward to you?  Wouldn't that just be inviting trouble if we were trying to stay under your noses?  If she wanted to escape so readily, wouldn't her backyard be the worst place to take her?" he offers her in return.

"But... rest for now, and collect yourself.  You seem too injured to converse meaningfully," he says.  Though his tone and inflection make it seem like he's stepped out of another time.  He can be heard muttering 'What is a Moomin?'

Raziel looks towards Hakan, "We are also aware of what has transpired between your kind and other 'passing through' vampires.  However, it is not my place to make such comments on it, I fear that they are still regrettable.  The one person who would listen to your plight, and do something about it without worrying when the next 'attack' would come is..."

He looks towards Yuuki, "The one you just attacked."
Kukuru 'Taking this many prisoners is a nuisance. Dress them down, but let them go. We achieved our objective, but we won't be acting on it until night at earliest.' "Go-ot it!" Kukuru chimes in response to Zero with an ever-eager smile, looking content to take the opportunity to de-escalate immediately. Wandering over to Yuuki, she puts her nanites to work to help her recover more quickly, all while beaming further at the statement of what she's aiming for.

"We just need her for a while longer, but don't you worry. Gudrun'll be okay in our hands." She says with a reassuring smile, gesturing at Hakan to get up despite his current state. She does eye his sword-transformed-into-a-sword briefly, but she's willing to let her guard down for the time being once he starts explaining some things.

Thankfully, Sougo's on the case as far as explaining the story so far, so Kukuru takes a moment to teleport back into her room and actually get dressed before coming back out in a comfortable-looking green hoodie and sweatpants. "Things would be better here and everywhere if the summit went okay, right? If it goes wrong, then things'll be worse for everyone, and it'd be a lot more work and pain for everyone. There'd be less time to eat, have fun, relax, and... Everything good, if we don't stop whatever's going on." She yawns, then looks over at Janna and waves at her to approach. "You'd rather do that rather than have to deal with fighting people way meaner than all of us here, right?"
Zero Kiryu Showing Hakan the phone full of information brings about a prolonged silence. His eyes dart from side to side-- and at certain points they glaze over a little. He winces. Contextually, Sougo can probably guess that he's having memories purged, though his reaction isn't as harsh as Gudrun's. "All of that is really extraordinary to claim. Do you have evidence?"

At the door, Gudrun mumbles, "I can at least confirm that the physical state the Professor's implant put me in is pretty miserable..."

//Wouldn't that just be inviting trouble if we were trying to stay under your noses?//

"Yeah, that's why people do that kinda stuff. You know, to posture," Janna explains, completely sincerely. She seems to realize that her phrase was incomprehensible, and adds, "You seem like you don't have a lot of common sense, is what I meant."

She glances at Yuuki, and back to Raziel, expression flat. These people have no expectation of good things coming out of her involvement whatsoever, and it shows.

"You're extra ignorant if you think you can intimidate me with an ensemble of ambiguous other people worse than this lot. She's a vampyr, and her Chevalier is everywhere," Hakan complains to Kukuru.

Kaien sighs exasperatedly, and moves over to pick both of the pair up by the backs of their shirts. They tense a little, but not in a way they would towards an enemy. They're familiar with Kaien, somehow. "You," he gives Hakan a little shake, "need to go home. And you'll be staying put."

Choosing one of the remaining empty rooms, he unceremoniously deposits Janna in the doorway. Then he takes off down the stairs with Hakan, "Please take care of Miss Janna, thank yooooou..."

What a weird guy.

Janna looks rather alarmed by all of this, but still doesn't actually get up. She frowns, looking around. Where'd her axe go...?
Yuuki Kuran "I think Captain William has the correct idea. Instead of beating each other with hungry weapons, would you join us for brunch in the town?" Yuuki asks, rubbing her eyes. Too disinformed to find the Concord impressive, too much her enemy to find her titles important. Annoying, but usual.

It's addictive to swing your titles around, but it so rarely works on people that are the sort to jump through your windows.

"I see you're confused, so we can talk it out. And then, you'll have whatever stamina you can recover plus a meal on our bill. You'll be in no more danger there than here." Offering feels much better, and Yuuki has been so well taken care of by everyone that it's natural to continue to offer out opportunities. Sougo helpfully has the phone timeline on the bulky device, and so after a short interlude of clipshow and commentary, at least Haken is caught up.

Which leaves...

A guilty look at the Vampyr-and-Chevalier line. She's not awful! She's hurt, which affects her in the mild sense of a hand on her chest and a tilt-back. She's not 'hurt' like an axe to her back.

"Will, Kukuru, if you could find someplace for brunch, I-" And, Yuuki expects, Sougo and Woz. "-require a little time to freshen up before we eat."
Zero Kiryu "Tell me what you want. I know every restaurant worth visiting," Janna interjects, completely seriously, evidently derailed from searching for her axe.
Kukuru 'You seem like you don't have a lot of common sense, is what I meant.'

"That's not true. It just doesn't look that way because you don't know us yet." Kukuru affirms with a confident tone in her voice, as though she was stating a simple fact of the universe.

'You're extra ignorant if you think you can intimidate me with an ensemble of ambiguous other people worse than this lot. She's a vampyr, and her Chevalier is everywhere'

That, meanwhile, gets an utterly confused look from Kukuru. "Intimidate...? No, I meant the-" She pauses, taking several moments to try and figure out how he could've come to that conclusion. Alas, she really is ignorant enough not to figure it out, but Yuuki's guilty expression and her call to get the food situation sorted out has her straightening up immediately.

"O-kay! Come on, Will. Janna. Let's look for... Somewhere with plenty of good breakfast options, then. Maybe one near the water, so we can get plenty of fresh fish and rare meat?"
Zero Kiryu "I know juuuuust the place, then," Janna says, getting up. She tilts her head, "Though, aren't you going to bind my hands or something..."

There are pancakes with jam in everyone's futures...
