Kasumi     It's afternoon out in front of Saffron City, people moving in and out, sun shining and one oddity standing out by the entrance to the town. She leans on a pole, the nekomata's tail twitching as she pats an armband that holds a couple pokeballs upon it. "Invites sent out, now let's see if they show." Kasumi mutters out loud, ears perked up under a hat. She gives idle waves to people who wander by, though her eyes keep a look out for the ones she's waiting for.
Lute      Lute, seemingly, has not had much to do today. Perhaps this is why he is likely one of the first ones to arrive. And arrive he does, in a /really/ strange vehicle. It is, quite obviously, a U-haul truck. But it has been painted black, with a red R on the side. It looks fairly beaten up, but... Well. Why the heck is he wanting to take a truck?

He pulls up next to Kasumi, nodding. "Hey, babe. You the one looking to be a Pokemon Trainer? Hop in the truck, and we'll go find some Pokemon the /cool/ way."
Keiko     She appears from the sky! Keiko arrives on the back of the supersonic swan Latias, descending in a rapid spiral. When she spots the black truck, all the girl does is sigh and then nod her head towards it. Latias trills and banks for the vehicle, bringing herself to a hover so Keiko can hop off. Right on the roof.

"Don't get in strange trucks with strange people," the trainer advises. Beside her, Latias shimmers and disappears--Not into a pokeball, but from sight entirely. Unphased by this, Keiko strolls across the truck's roof, then hops down the passenger side, "There's only one way to train pokemon and train them right."
Alexis     Even if the crowds moving in and out of the busy Saffron it was fairly hard to miss Alexis, thanks to the pair of pink pigtails bouncing about as she zigzaged around other predestrians on her rollerblades. She weaves around a last couple of folks and then comes skidding to a stop at seeing the neko lounging about. "Ah, there you are!" Followed by a long, scowling look towards Lute and his truck. It's the best 'you better behave' glare she can manage without actually looking angry.

A flash of white and green hops across a couple of lightposts and does a somersault off the last one to come to land with a light thump atop the truck. Wings flare out like a cape as he thrusts up both arms at an angle dramatically. "Hawlucha!" <Fear not! The Hurricane of Kalos is here to protect you!> Then he turns and twirls his arm-wings into an elaborate bow as Keiko lands and walks past. <And beunos dias to you as well senorita.>
Alexis just rolls her eyes at the hammy display. "Only if he does something stupid, Hurricarana." She might of facepalmed at the lot of them, but her hand is occupied by waving at Keiko and her Latias. "Hey, long time no see."
Kasumi     Kasumi perks her ears up a bit more, the sound of a truck pulling up... and the strange sight of a black painted one has her eyes following it. "What in the Netherworld?" she shakes her head, stifling a laugh, "Babe? Yea, I'm the one looking to be a Trainer. Got my license right here too!" she pats her chest pocket, "And came prepared too. The professor said you can't catch one without these." She lifts up a finger only to hear the comment from another person.

Turning to look at Keiko and the now dissapearing Latias, she quickly looks around, a confused look upon her face. "While getting into strange trucks with strange people is a bad idea, I think I'm the only strange one here. And where did that thing go? It just went poof..."

More antics and she hasn't even gotten out of the town yet, the nekomata scratches the back of her head with a large paw, "And I thought the Netherworld had strange things..." she gives a light wave with her free hand, "So you must be the three that offered help over the radio then. Good to meetcha!"
Lute      Lute shrugs, "Well. I don't think there is anything strange about me, at all. So I'm gonna suggest that you not call me such. But either way, hop in the back of my windowless u-haul truck and I'll take you to where we can find some fitting Pokemon for you."

Lute of course is too dumb to realize what this could be interpretted as meaning.

"I assume you'll probably want a cat-like Pokemon, though, right?"
Alexis "<... Are you sure I cannot put him out of our misery?>" remarks the masked birdmon as he hops down from the truck top.
"As amusing as it would be, I don't think he even realizes how clichely 'Stranger Danger' he even sounds." Though to herself Alexis is glad it's typicial idiot Lute that's showed up, and not psychotic dark wannabe overlord Lute. Lesser of two evils. Ugh, whatever. She turns her attention back to the feline. "Yeah, that's us. I'm Alexis. And that's Hurricarana, a Hawlucha pokemon." Cue elaborate flaring of wing-cape and striking of pose again from the Hawlucha. "He's a little hammy, but that's just because he's totally into the masked wrestler shtick his species has."
Keiko     "Don't mind her," Keiko states in regards to Latias' disappearing act. Producing one of her own pokeballs, all black and dark gray, she releases her Lopunny, then promptly pats Mimi between the ears, "I'm Keiko and this is Mimi." Alexis' greeting is returned with a polite nod before the wanderer glances over her shoulder at Lute, "Do you have any idea how much of a creeper you sound like right now? Get out of the stupid truck, already, before you get arrested or something."

Back to Kasumi, Keiko shrugs helplessly.

For no particular reason, a magenta-haired girl with unusual hair wanders around the truck and slides up behind Mimi, resting her hands on the rabbitmon's ears.
Kasumi     Kasumi listens to the banter between everyone and chuckles, giving a nod as they're introduced, at least all but LUte that is. "I see. NIce to meetcha. I'm Kasumi, meowcenary for hire and well, greenhorn Pokemon Trainer." She gives a light bow towards Keiko, Mimi, Alexis, Hurricarana and Lute. "I think it might be better if we did walk, never hurt to stretch the legs now, did it?" a pause and a bit muffled "Plus I think they'd dogpile that poor guy if we got in..."

Kasumi perks up slightly, giving a nod towards Lute, "That would probably be preferable. Easier to train maybe? Or are you suggesting that because of my ears?" she gives a playful chuckle, nodding "I had a small list made out of suggestions for ones to start with, but I keep having trouble deciding, there's just so many. It's like prinnies, so many of them and so many varieties, it's tough to decide which one to pick up and throw for an explosion!"
Lute      Finally something about Kasumi that rings a bell.

"OH! Prinnies. You're from one of those Netherworlds, then. Cool! Awesome. And yes, I'm basically just assuming you're a cat, so you'd like cats."

     A pause.

"And I'll follow behind you guys in the truck. The noise can be good for scaring Pokemon out of their habitats, really. So it'll help you at least /see/ a cat Pokemon coming."

"Also do you have a starter Pokemon? Legally, you're supposed to catch Pokemon only by fighting them with other Pokemon, but... Well. I don't care about that myself."
Alexis Alexis makes a faint face at the mention of Prinnies. ".. Let's avoid the pokemon with Self-Destruct for now. They can be infuriating for a beginner to catch due to the whole said 'Self Destruct'." Yes, that's a good excuse. Followed by a roll of her eyes as she turns and kicks off to slowly skate farther from the city. "Fine, whatever Lute. Just don't run anything important over.

"<A fine feline for the kitty lady? Si, we can do that. Arriba and awaay!"> With a fanciful twirl Huricarana leaps off the ground and into the trees, bounding across the branchs on the lookout.
Keiko     "I feel sorry for those pokemon," Keiko comments aside to Alexis, "It probably hurts quite a bit. I can't imagine that being very fun, despite those crazy grins you see on some of them when they do it."

    Voltorbs. Brrrh.

Lifting her arms, she folds them behind her head and brings up the rear, though avoids anywhere in front of the truck. Mimi follows along, as does the quiet and unnamed girl who trots up to walk at Keiko's other side.

"Around Saffron we're probably going to see Meowths, maybe the odd Delcatty, if it's cat-like pokemon you're looking for." Eyes closing, she recalls, "Perhaps a purrloin, but I'm not sure if those have moved here from Unova or not. There are professors who study pokemon migration, I'm not one of 'em."

<A rabbit would be better> Mimi comments. Keiko laughs, "You're just biased."
Kasumi     Kasumi pulls a small peice of paper out of a chest pocket, looking over it with a studious gaze... "Those three are on the list of ones I was considering." she mentions, only to turn back towards Lute, shaking her head. "I don't. Hence why I was putting in this request, to help." a pause, "The professor was supposed to give me one, huh?" she shakes her head a bit, heading forward, hands upon the back of her head, a contented smile upon her face.

"I saw this one too in a book and thought it looked nice too..." she opens the peice of paper to a picture of a Sneasel then an Espurr. "Are those around this area too?" she questions to the group, turning to walk backwards, facing them... and the new girl that is following. "Did you get lost there?" she questions to the quiet girl, "No matter, if you want to see a new person get their first, I don't mind you tagging along!"

"I'll follow your leads, you three." a smile as she turns back around, "I've got two pokeballs waiting to capture."
Lute      Lute just continues to drive his truck along, waiting to get to the fields to go into full action.

A truck driving along the road at the speed of two normal humans.

This is going to cause some congestion until they get to the empty fields themselves.
Alexis Alexis huhs. "Maybe they do it differently for off-worlders." Alexis rolls her shoulders a little. "At least you're in good hands... and I figured this would involve cats eventually, so I came prepared." The luchador is still hopping through the trees, so she pulls a different pokeball from her belt, expands, and throws it. "Com'n out, Sassy."

The pokeball hits the ground on the trigger button at the perfect angle so it bounces back towards Alexis as it cracks open and spews out a burst of energy that crackles briefly as it consolidates into a blue-grey housecat sized feline with an odd spring-coil tail. "Glameerow."

Alexis catchst he ball on the rebound and tucks it away again for now. "Not sure why this one wasn't included on your list."
"Glameow." <They probably did not want to scare the newbies with that HIDEOUS ABOMINATION they call an evolution, hmph!> replies the feline with an upward snoot of her muzzle.
Keiko     "This is a friend of mine," Keiko points out when Kasumi gets curious about the girl next to her. Reaching out, she pats said girl on the head between the spikes of hair coming up over each ear. The petting gets an immediate pleased reaction, eyes closed and rubbing into the palm like a cat would, "She doesn't say much. Just call her Latiko."

Petting complete, Keiko glances down to rummage in her bag for a moment, "I didn't bring Grace today, I probably should have--She's my Liepard, another cat-like pokemon. But I do have a great pokemon for scaring things out of the bushes." Shifting pokeballs, she tucks the empty one that Mimi had come out of away, then tosses another. From it materializes a mass of black smoke which collects itself together into a vaguely girl-like shape, complete with a witchy hat.

    "Mismagius." <What a dreadfully delightful day~.>
Alexis Alexis just smirks a bit at Keiko and 'Latiko', privy to the real secret there. But back to the matter at hand. "Well, whatever we're looking for, we're not gonna find it out here on the open path." She pauses and holds her hands up to the sides of her mouth. "Hey Hurri! Find anything yet!?"

<No senorita!> the avian squacks back. <But there is a small grassy grove off to your left. Good for hunting without random trainers wandering in to look for battles.>

"That's a start, at least." Followed by an oof as the Glameow climbs up onto her shoulder. "You have paws, you know." "Glameow. <And you expect me to get them dirty -walking-?> "Yer suppose to be making a good impression for cat-pokemon kind." <Well I can't do that if I get filthy, now can I?> "Oh whatever." Alexis mutters more about 'spoiled brat' under her breath as she trudges off in the direction her other pokemon is shouting from.
Kasumi     Kasumi nods a bit, giving a wave to Latiko, a smile upon her. "Not a problem." as she turns owards the car, "Hey, Lute? What do you have since everyone else is showing me theirs." this might be a bad question to ask...

She turns around, looking at the Mismagius with a bright grin, "Oh now that one looks amazing." she comments, ears perked to Alexis and her Glameow's convo, before the grassy grove was mentioned. "Hmm, so should be able to find something in there, right?" she plucks the empty Pokeball off her armband, nodding. "I'm ready...!"
Lute      Lute shrugs a little bit, "I'm not big on Cat Pokemon, or specific things. I'm just really into the super /strong/ Pokemon. Like. The bigger, the better. Let's see... For example..."

He releases some Pokemon, one after another, along the roadside. Tentacruel, Arcanine, Tyrannitar, Tyrantrum, and a raichu. And finally he holds up a solid black Pokeball.

"And this... This is my strongest Pokemon, Registeel!"

He doesn't open it though. For some reason.
Keiko     "A grove, huh," Keiko muses on that, then glances up, "Missy, check it out and see what you can scare up." "Mis mismagius." <Of course, of course~.> And, in response to the order, the ghostly pokemon fades out of view. Presumably, she's drifted off to where Hurri was already scouting about.

Lute lets his menagerie out, which causes Keiko to step noticably away from them as they appear, closer to Alexis. Latiko dutifully stays at her side through the entire shuffle, "Well, I wasn't exactly showing off so much as just getting the pokemon I thought would be most helpful." A shrug, "And I guess Alexis was just trying to give Kasumi an idea of what we were looking for." However, she plucks more of those black and gray pokeballs from her bag and tosses them, "But it doesn't hurt to let 'em stretch out a little! Come on out, ladies."

What appears is a tiny yellow and black thing with a large black ponytail full of teeth, a nine-tailed fire fox, and a gigantic water snake that is currently asleep. Glancing Kasumi's way, she holds out a hand, "Meet Kuchi, Perrine, and Nagi. You've already seen Mimi-" The bunnymon raises one hand, "And Missy is the one who just took off."

Unlike Lute, that's only five pokemon.
Alexis     A mental note is made of the Tyrantrum, that was one Alexis did not know Lute had before. The others are all familiar... and the black ball in particular gets a scowl from her. Wildfire growls in the back of her mind, but she reigns in the Entei in.

On the other hand, the display of big 'strong' pokemon just gets a roll of the eyes from Sassy. <Leave it to the man to go waving the size of his proverbial p-->
"That's enough, Sassy."
<--Surprise you let me get that far.>
"Amused you of all pokemon would use such an idiom."
<Just because I am ladylike does not mean I don't call it like I see it.>

Instead of farthering the extravagance Alexis makes her way into the longer grass on the way towards the grove. "You can't just go chucking pokeballs at 'em though, kiddo. You need to wear the pokemon down, usually by fighting. It's kinda like proving your spirit as a trainer to them. If a pokemon is gonna get caught, they want it to be by someone that can help 'em get better and stronger."
Kasumi     The entire menagerie of Pokemon displayed before her, Kasumi's eyes go wide. "So many different ones. Some of those look familiar." she nods, looking between them all. "Well then, at least I now know what's out there to go find." she nods, putting the Pokeball back upon her armband... "Ah, I got a bit overzealous." she chuckles, waiting by the side as the ghost and the luchador hunt in that bush.

"Maybe I should have asked for a starter, heh." she comments, watching and waiting, her tail twitching behind her, "Wonder what's hiding in that..."
Lute      Lute is not a patient one. He prefers the fast method.

What's more, there is one thing that all cats love.

He presses a button. Seemingly, the u-haul has been modified some. At least, enough so that the back door of it can be opened by a button press.

     A smell wafts from it.

Lute has filled the entire back of his truck with catnip.

"Now /this/ is how you find cat Pokemon."
Keiko     Assorted pokemon around Keiko cover their noses when the strong odor of catnip escapes from the Rocketmobile. The girl beside the trainer does the same, while Keiko just stares, "...What the..." She shoots a quick look at Kasumi, one of only two cats actually present, then closes her eyes with a sigh, "You didn't think this through, did you."

While using one hand to recall her pokemon, one at a time, she jerks her thumb at the nekomata, "You might think you're clever but what do you think all that's gonna do to the person we're trying to help?"
Alexis Alexis idly glances to the feline on her shoulder. But Sassy is giving the truck the whole nose snubbed in the air act. <Like I want his grody by the truckload lowest denominator commoner catnip.> "... I guess for once you being a snot is a good thing."

<BONZAI!> The moment is interrupted by the Hawlucha's cry as he dives out of the trees and into the longer grasses. The brush rustles around a bit before he comes flying back out, backlipping to land with a light skid next to Alexis.

"Hoouu!" The grasses part with a howling sound as the black canine that looks like it's wearing part of a skull like a cap comes running out after him.

"Well, that ain't what we're looking for, but hey, demonstration."

The Hawlucha holds out one arm to drape his feathers down and shake it a few times. Only to yank it away with a twirl and a <OLI!> at the last moment as the dark hound skids past while trying to turn to follow. Then spits a few Embers after the bird even as Huricarana turns to turn in the other direction, flaunting his cape-like feathers at the dog more.

"Right now he's using Taunt so the Houndour focuses on him and not the rest of us." Alexis just settles in to narrorate at the moment.
Kasumi     Kasumi hmms a bit and watches the grass curiously before the smell hits her. Her eyes go wide, biting her lip... "Catnip..." she closes her eyes, trying to concentrate, opening one to watch the Houndour and the Luchabird. "N... not a good idea to have that around..." she mutters, ears twitching at the other cat's distaste of it.

"I have some self control at least... though that scent is very... attracting." she shakes her head, trying to keep focused upon the two Pokemon going at it, slowly backing away towards that truck... "Hmm, it's not a cat, though, wonder if..."
Keiko     "Honestly," Keiko closes her eyes with a sigh and a shake of her head. By now, the only thing near her is that Latiko girl--the various pokemon have all been recalled, save the one she has afield right now. When Hurricarana scares up a Houndour and Alexis goes through her demonstration, she speaks up, "She already has a license, I think she already went through the basics in the course."

There's a blood-curdling shriek out in the grass. Glancing up, Keiko spots the telltale floppy 'cone' that forms the top of Mismagius' hat, which promptly fades out when something goes scampering off through the grass. The girl's expression relaxes, "Oh, that ghost of mine..."

The hat-cone reappears and the scream repeats, and whatever it was Missy is scaring goes dashing in the opposite direction.
Alexis Alexis gives it a dismissive wave. "They don't always give live demonstrations." She's just watching passively as the two pokemon scitter back and forth. Occasionally the Houndour manages to score a hit with a fire spit, but the experienced Hawlucha is weathering it with little trouble. Finally he breaks his run to leap at a tree... and kick off the trunk to vault upward and spin into a moonsault with Acrobatics, landing on the Houndour with enough force that it yowls as it's smacked into the ground. It rolls a bit and gets back up with a snarl, but it's clearly winded now.
Lute      Lute nods, "Yeah, any self respecting cat-pokemon-trainer would be abel to resist the siren call of catnip. See? What do you expect?"

Though, of course, by this point, there are probably a /number/ of cat-like Pokemon coming to find the catnip. They are still hiding in the grass, assumedly, but by now their tails are likely poking out.
Alexis "This would be where you could try to catch it. Or use a move like Thunder Wave to keep it subdued longer. But they probably taught you that part in the classes, cuz it's as much to keep the pokemon from hurting themselves as it is--huh?" Alexis turns back to the two pokemon as Hurricarana also looks over his shoulder as several "HOOOUUUUUU!" chorus from the brush, and a small group of larger black dogs with devil horns and tails stalk out of it. "... And it looks like we found a whole pack of 'em... Uh.."

Glances the other way, noticing the cat tails sticking out of the grass. ".. Let's keep them away from the pokemon she -wants- to catch."

"HEY MUTTS, OVER HERE!" Alexis charges off deeper into the grove, with her pokemon following, and the Houndooms taking off to chase after them. "I just hope none of these know Flame Charge!" <It is just like the running with the Tauros!> "Right now, I'd take the Tauros!"
Kasumi     Kasumi watches and shakes her head, nodding. "They did... and wha..." she watches the Houndour and the Houndooms chase, shaking her head. "Well, umm. Now about those cats..." she shakes her head, "And will she be okay? I mean, that ... bird luchador thing seems to have a lot of gusto but..." she looks at the cat tails poking up, a couple of them seem familiar to her...

"I think I'll go for.... that one!" she points her finger at a short tail, lavender in color with a white spot upon its tip... "Now, how to get it without one of mjy own?"
Lute      Lute rubs his cheek, pondering. "Well. You /can/ always ask it to join you. Sometimes they'll just join if you make a good enough offer. You could punch it... Or you could borrow one of our Pokemon for a brief bit to battle it."
Keiko     "Here, I'll let you direct my Mismagius," Keiko states, "She's well equipped to subdue wild pokemon and I'll coach you through it!" Lifting two fingers to her mouth, the trainer whistles sharply. This causes the ghostly pokemon to rise out of the tall grass like some kind of terrifying apparition, rotating slowly to face the gathered trainers.

"Mis. Magi. Gius." <Who dares summon me, mistress of the dark.>

"Come off it, Missy," Keiko beckons the ghost over, and the pokemon obliges, drifting effortlessly over the grass and the assorted tails of interested cats, "We're teaching Kasumi, so you're going to do what she asks for a little bit."

"Magius." <The restless dead never rest~.>

"...That means 'ok'," Keiko comments to Kasumi. "So just tell her to scare out the pokemon you want."
Kasumi     Getting to direct a pokemon that isn't even her own? She might have fun with this. She nods towards Keiko and looks to the Mismagius, "Hi. Can you please scare out that lavender furred cat over there?" she looks towards the location, "Its got white on it too. I think it might be a girl but I cannot tell from here."
Kasumi looks between the target, Keiko, Lute and Missy, "That was right, right?"
Keiko     "Mis magius~" <I'll bring it to this mortal coil~.> And with that, Missy disappears again. The tops of the grass waver around in unseen wind, clearly the pokemon moving amidst it, disturbing it on purpose. A proper ghost has to create ATMOSPHERE after all!

"It's alright to be polite to other peoples' pokemon," Keiko points out, "Just keep in mind that as a trainer you'll have to be assertive until--" A bloodcurtling screech sounds in the grass and that purple and white pokemon's tail frazzles out. Right behind it, fading in, is the top of Missy's witchy hat. The victimized pokemon dashes away from the screech, headed right out into the open with the Mismagius in pursuit.

"--...until they respect you," Keiko finishes hesitantly.
Kasumi     Kasumi gives a nod, clutching her ears at the screech... that poor cat over there must be scared from life and limb. "She enjoys doing that a bit too much, doesn't she?" She pulls her hands off her ears and pulls that Pokeball off her arm once more. "Alright, so she just has to weaken it then I throw this.. Or I can talk to the cat and possibly have it join that way..."

    Decisions, decisions.
Keiko     Keiko lifts up her left arm and tugs her sleeve back, showing the bracer she wears. Tapping the touchscreen, she pulls up the built-in pokedex, "Well... Mismagius evolves from Misdreavus. And. Well. Listen for yourself." pip, -Misdreavus, the Screech pokemon. It likes playing mischievous tricks such as screaming and wailing to startle people at night.-

The playback finished, Keiko shrugs, "Old habits die hard. This one just really gets into the whole 'I'm a ghost' thing." The ghost in the grass screeches again.

Bursting out onto the road is a wide-eyed, wide-mouthed and very terrified little purple cat. The little guy's heart must be beating a thousand times a second. And behind it from the grass emerges the misty black shape of Keiko's Mismagius.

"Oh! An Espurr?" Keiko leans forward a bit, "It's really scared, so try and calm it down. Put it to sleep with Missy's Hypnosis."
Alexis In the background first the recovered Houndour runs by.
Then the pack of Houndooms runs through, looking like something had spooked -them- for a change.

Then Alexis makes her way back into the clearing, slumping down by the others and panting a bit. "I haven't had a workout like that in a long time. How goes the pokemon hunting?"

But what scared those devilish dogs away?

Might have to do with the large, almost lion-like beast that comes plodding out of the thicker grove, snorting a few smoky plumes in their wake. Not even a pack of hellhounds wants to deal with a protective volcano demigod-beast-clone.

Wildfire turns his head to give 'Latiko' a brief regard, then just chuffs a bit and goes to lay down next to his trainer, whom leans back against him. "Sometimes it does help to have something bigger and scarier... Eh?" She sits up again as the pokemon comes into the clearing. "..."

And then it's -her- spinning around to half-hide behind the larger Entei. "What the hell are one of those things doing here in Kanto?!"

Alexis.. still has issues with Psychic types.
Keiko     While she had been watching the activity without much reaction, the very moment Wildfire makes his enormous presence known, Latiko suddenly trots away from Keiko. She approaches the huge legendary beast and reaches out to ruffle his main, a fond smile on her face. Yeah, she remembers him.
Kasumi     That screech again. She winces and shakes her head, "Missy, stop screeching at it and put it to sleep! You are hurting my ears too!" that shout is kinda loud, but Kasumi's annoyed at the ghostie. "Just use Hypnosis on it so I can throw my ball at it!"

Kasumi readies the ball, taking aim with it as she waits for the right time to throw it.
Keiko     "I don't know," Keiko--who must be used to Missy's antics by now--simply shrugs towards Alexis, "Maybe it was a pet that someone couldn't take care of so they let it go?"

Missy floats aside, then disappears again just as the Espurr turns around to see what's creeping up on it. Just the eyes appear, hovering behind the cat's shoulder, and the ghostly pokemon hisses.

In a panic, Espurr whirls around and flips up its ears, surrounding its attacker with psychic energy. Missy flitters apart like smoke with a surprised sound, but quickly regathers herself. Those red and yellow eyes turn blue and Shit Gets Weird for a second or two.

After a moment spent fighting it, Espurr sinks down, eyes closed and ears snugly down.

"Now you can try and catch it, go ahead."
Alexis Wildfire actually tilts his head a little into the ruffle. Latiko is probably one of the few beings other than Alexis that can get away with touching the fire-beast.

Said trainer continues to stare over his back as Keiko's ghost puts the psychic cat to sleep. Mutters something about it under her breath. Darn psychic pokemon. It takes her a while to get over the weird vibe she still gets from the ones she's not familiar with.

Wildfire gives a stifled grunt at her uneasiness. "..No, leave it alone. It's her pokemon to catch. And worry about."
Lute      While all of this is going on, a number of Cat Pokemon are piled into the back of Lute's truck.

And then suddenly the back door of the truck /slams/ shut.

     "SEE YA LATER, SHITLORDS!"

And he pounds on the gas.

Of course there is plenty of opportunity to stop this.
Kasumi     Watching the ghost do its work is kinda unnerving but thankfully the screeching stopped /and/ the Espurr is asleep. "Well then, here goes nothing. Pokeball..." she tosses the ball into the air, catches it with her tail before lobbing it at the sleeping cat! "Go, capture it now!" The ball ... lands short of its target, rolling for a bit before button touches the Espurr and sucks it up in that red glow. "Aim.. did he ju..." she facefaults at Lute's sudden departure... "I....what?"
Alexis Alexis just lets out an exasperated sigh. "Really, why else would he have a truck, of course." With a grunt she moves, if only so her pokemon can get up. "At least it didn't transform into some retarded mecha or something."

Wildfire just turns his head in the direction of the truck as his eyes start to glow. All legendaries seem to have some manner of latent psychic powers regardless of what typings they are... and in all honesty this is safer to the pokemon -inside- than if he unloaded a Fire attack that could probably melt metal. Because volcano embodiment and all that.

Instead he just uses Extrasensory to try and break the doors open again. If the cats and catnip actually get out or fall out or whatever after that isn't his concern. Too bad if they're too high to realize they're in trouble.

Yeah even being purified Wildfire is still a bit of an ass. It kind of comes with the volatility.
Keiko     Keiko closes her fingers into a fist and pumps her arm down, "Yeah, you got it--" And then Lute shouts his thing and tries to make off with a ton of pokemon cats in the back of his truck. With a 'tch', Keiko mutters, "Should've seen that coming." She reaches down to her bag, then pulls out one of her pokeballs, "Oh well. Hindsight is 20-20." Giving the ball a toss, it splits open and disgorges her Milotic some distance away, "And Milotic is 250 kilos."

The bulky water serpent slams down in the middle of the road with enough force to both crack the asphalt and to wake it up. Shaking off the sleep, Nagi rears up and lets out her musical cry, then dips her head forward. The entire body of the milotic follows suit, ending of course with the rainbow-scaled tail. Except the tail is currently sheathed in a layer of steel, swinging for the front of the truck in a forceful downswing.

"Latiko, can you keep an eye on Kasumi while I try and fix this?"

From where she's sitting, the girl nods once. She gives Wildfire a hug as best she can around his colossal neck before she gets up and trots back over to the catgirl.
Lute      Lute, sadly, doesn't notice the Extrasensory attack on the back door. He'll have to get it psychic proofed, later. The mechanisms that make it automatically open jam the attempt a /bit/, but still, it opens a bit.

And then the Milotic in front of the road. While a truck most definately ways more than a Milotic, it's still enough where it'd cause a /lot/ of damage to the truck as well. And Lute has had this truck for ages.

     "OH SHIT, UH. TURBO BOOST!"

He presses a button. Panels open up along the bottom of the truck, revealing... ...are those rocket engines?

The rockets set off, boosting it into the air, over the Milotic. At the angle it is going, it sadly, causes at least some, if not most or all, of the Pokemon in the back to fall out of the partially opened door.

It's also worth noting, though, that a U-haul isn't meant for flight, so it has a bit of a rough landing. Albeit it is still driving, somehow.
Kasumi     Kasumi shakes her head, moving to pick up the Pokeball that houses a newly captured Espurr. "My first one..." she ponders, looking towards Latiko with a smile. "Azure. I think I will name this one Azure." She then looks over towards Alexis and Keiko, giving a light mew... "That Lute person is weird."
Alexis Give the fall out a few moments to snap the cat-mon out of their nip daze. Good enough. Wildfire thumps back down on the ground like nothing had happened in the first place.

"Weird don't begin to describe it," Alexis replies with a snort.
Keiko     Well, that worked! Somehow. Nagi's tail misses the truck due to Sudden Rocket Boosters and hits the street instead. Re-coiling and lifting her head, the pokemon twists and watches the airborne moving van in its less-than-graceful flight arc, wincing at the landing, then watching it speed off. After a moment, Nagi's gaze shifts upward to the Meowth that has landed on her head, high as a kite on catnip.

Some distance away, Keiko watches the events unfold with similar reactions as her pokemon. After a moment, she just closes her eyes and sighs, then spares a glance towards Wildfire, "Thanks for the help."

And then back to Kasumi, she grins, "Azure, eh? A good name for a brave little pokemon."

    "Mis?" <Brave?>

    "Not now, Missy."
Alexis Alexis shakes her head a bit. "Never underestimate how obsurd that guy can be."

But hey, stuff got done. "Congrats on the first pokemon."
Kasumi     Kasumi pats the ball some, looking at it. "First bond, huh? Whats that you are talking about? And... does this thing have information on what it can do" Kasumi tosses the ball in the air before catching it and placing it the number one spot on her arm band.

"And that is one of my two used..."
Alexis "Save it. Get to know your first pokemon, don't spread yourself out too thin from the go until you've both had time to adjust... and catching more will be easier once you're sure of fighting with your own." Advice dispensed, Alexis gives the fiery hulk a nudge. "Com'n you, we oughta head home. Nova's gonna start to wonder where I got off to." As the entei stands she hoists herself up to sit on his shoulders, using the rock-like ridges of his back like a chair rest.
Keiko     "Well," Keiko holds out her pokeball, recalling Nagi just as the snake-like water pokemon has started coiling up to resume sleeping. She disappears in a flare of red light back into the black Fusion Ball. "I'm a fan of experience. Just being with pokemon, seeing what they can do, and learning about them through doing." Another pokeball is held out and she uses it to recall Missy, "If you're the sort that prefers to read up on things..."

That pokeball is put away, and she suggests, "There are books and pamplets for various pokemon. The pokemon centers give them out to new trainers. Just find some literature about your Espurr there, that might help you too."
