Angela Gebura, this time, is the one who sends out an invitation to Kukuru. Not Angela. Indeed, Angela doesn't even show up to meet Kukuru at the Warpgate--because that's right, it's Gebura again! Angela only really has one way to stop Gebura and right now that way is way too heavy a hammer to rely on.

Gebura remainds a dinged up and scratched metal box with arms and legs with the name GEBURA in black and red letters on her forehead. She is already making a show of smoking with a cigarette in her left hand, leaning against the wall, when Kukuru arrives.

Gebura takes a moment to just stare at Kukuru rather than say anything at all and Kukuru will quickly realize that the Control Deparment...

Is WAY more empty than usual. Only Gebura is within her sightlines and unbeknownst to Kukuru, only Gebura is on this floor.

"You know why I called for you?" She asks.
Kukuru Getting an invite from Gebura is certainly an unexpected surprise, but not an unpleasant one. Kukuru's always eager to meet and chat with members of the Concord and their families, after all, so she's made sure to prepare for today's meeting with Gebura! She's no robot expert, though, but what little she does know about Geburah means there's probably a few things that she might appreciate.

That's why, when Kukuru does show up at the Control Department, she comes bearing a red wagon fille with buckets of (metal-safe) paint, sponges, and dishwashing soap. It's pretty obvious she doesn't know why Gebura called for her between that and that beaming smile on her face when she shows up.

"He-llo, Gebura~ Ah... Nope! Oh, where's everyone else today? It's pretty..." Pausing to actually get a look around the rest of the Department, Kukuru finally realizes that it is, in fact, empty!

"Huh... Oh. I guess everyone's taking the day off, then. That's fine, though. We can spend some quality time together this way!" Kukuru concludes, clueless as ever while approaching Gebura, but stops suddenly as her expression turns serious suddenly, like she's finally realized something.

"Oh... Wait. That's what it was... I forgot the scouring sponge."
Angela "Didn't want any softhearted folk getting in the way." Gebura says, though she remains silent on just how coldhearted ''she'' intends to be.

Her gaze settles on the cleaning supplies Kukuru has brought along. "..." It surely isn't malice, but she isn't exactly thrilled at someone doing something like this sincerely either.

"...Guess you don't know why I called upon you. This is a real drag, Kukuru, because that means I have to explain it."

"...The Dame Commander asked me to rein you in." Gebura says. "Called you the wild animal of the Concord. So sure, let's spend plenty of quality time together."

One of those appendage limbs reaches out for Kukuru's wrist. "We can have a nice chat about Discipline."
Kukuru "Could I use...? No. That one's too worn out already. Maybe..." Still mulling over alternatives to the missing item, Kukuru snaps out of that distraction of her own making when Gebura explains why the department is so empty. It's a bit of a confusing explanation, but it doesn't get further questioning from Kukuru. If anything...

She's still just glad to be spending time with Gebura, fully unaware of what may come next. Hearing Lilian being involved in this meeting actually seems to perk her up rather than  discourage her in any way, too, as that pleasant smile remains plastered on her face the entire time.

"Aw, she did? THE wild animal, too..." That has her mulling over her things a little again, but it still doesn't manage to break through that skull of hers that it might be anything but bad. "Maybe things really are coming around, then! But what's about.. Um. Reining in?"

That, at least, still has Kukuru puzzling over what Gebura actually means for a little while longer. Surely it must be good, though, if it also means Lilian's asked Gebura to spend time with her. And with Gebura reaching for her like that...

For once, Kukuru's reflexes are fast. Her grip is gentle as ever, though, as she takes the '''offered''' appendage in her hand instead, completely misreading the intent if that beaming smile is any indication. "Of course, Gebby-dear~ I can tell you anything I know about discipline. There's a lot of people in the Concord, after all, so it's good to have a bigger idea of what that could mean to them aaaall..."
Angela Gebura's hand is unexpectedly taken. Gebura is quiet for a long moment again.

"This is new." She admits. It's not really typical for her to reach towards someone and then they'd actually gleefully take her hand in response. Not after the things she said for sure. Kind of makes her think of Chesed. Doing this sort of work just because she can do this sort of work isn't something she actually particularly enjoys doing. She's not a freak like some Colors.

Gebura sighs.

And then Gebura throws Kukuru across the Control department.

"Kukuru." She says, intent on walking after her. "Tell me why you think it's okay to endanger our mission in Rita's world just because some bunch of weak-ass trash villagers pissed everyone off by slaughtering them." She says in a particular kind of voice. "Do you think that just 'cause you can tear them to bloody bits, just because they're stupid that gives you the right to tear 'em apart?"

Gebura's red eye glares towards Kukuru. "I can't reach you while you're out there so we're gonna have to stabilize your behavior right here."
Kukuru "Is it? Then we can do this as long as you like~" Indeed, Kukuru couldn't feel any better! Well, no, she's definitely felt better before, but this is still the high point of her day. After all, teaching a family member new things always means everyone feels good by the end!

And then she feels the room suddenly moving, with up being down and down being up and where did Gebura's gripper go? She doesn't even realize she's been thrown until she's hit the ground, letting out a confused and painful grunt as she goes head over ass several times before skidding to a stop on her back.

"G... Gebby? Ah. S-so this is the kind of quality time you.." Still reeling from the toss, Kukuru trails off as she sits up and actually hears what Gebura is saying. That tone of voice is unfamiliar to Kukuru, but... A lot of things about Gebura are unfamiliar to her. It's okay! She's probably just not used to chatting like this.

"Oh! That's easy. They betrayed way too many people with that, you know?" Rubbing her back lightly following the landing, she gets up and brushes her skirt off, not quite seeing the glare just yet. "The Concord, when we came to help them... Rita's family, when they came to help them... And the folks from the Union Busan. It's important to teach everyone that it's not okay to do that sort of thing, you know?"

Only then does she finally turn around to face Gebura, and only then does she see that glare. Some of the color drains from Kukuru's face when she does, as she definitely hasn't seen that kind of look turned her way from anyone in her family before.

"G... Gebby? Stabilize? But I'm already here... What do you mean?" Whether it's to Gebura's relief or irritation or otherwise, Kukuru still isn't moving to stop or even avoid. She's still approaching Gebura, albeit a little slower and less upbeat than she did moments ago. "Did... Did I do something wrong? What is it?"
Angela Gebura isn't like the other Agents. "I know what they did, I don't need a refresher." Gebura says but Kukuru does, at least, give the answer she was looking for so she doesn't have to repeat the question. "''It's important to teach everyone that it's not okay to do that sort of thing''." Gebura says. "Well it's not like I entirely disagree, Kukuru, I believe in a firm fist though I can't imagine even you don't understand that a corpse can't learn a lesson."

Gebura continues her approach. She isn't slow, but rather--she is someone with the luxury of taking her time. Each step is as measured as the last.

"But that is an incorrect assessment."

Gebura stops. "Because who the fuck said it was okay for ''you'' to decide their punishment? Hanh..." That sigh is not unlike Angela's. "I know the Concord believes in exceptional individuals building the future but surely the organization doesn't mean reacting to every slight with the most brutality at our disposal when it's a cooperative mission against a world ending monster."

Gebura crouches down so that singular eye can focus on Kukuru's two. "Can I trust that you'll listen to the Commander or me next time? And ideally, avoid necessitating that?"
Kukuru Maybe Gebura's just a lot worse at expressing herself than Kukuru expected. She sounds like she's agreeing with Kukuru at least partially, even if the target of the teaching isn't necessarily who Kukuru was thinking about. "Incorrect? But I thought...."

That I was teaching everyone that's still alive. Isn't that who we should focus on? Again, that confusion returns to Kukuru's face. Instead of correcting Gebura, though, she trails off, focusing on just listening. She needs to listen harder, to, not to what she wants to hear, but...

What's actually being said. It's not just about who is and isn't learning, but who's being affected. But they were wrong, weren't they? "It's... I... S-so this is causing more trouble for you? For Angie, and... Lili, too?" Her eyes remain locked on that eye, but her gaze looks unsteady, like she's having trouble seeing at all.

I've been causing them problems again. This keeps happening. I thought I was finally getting it, too. Her lip quivers, and her eyes are starting to water, but she keeps staring right at that eye, almost like she's trying to distract herself from crying with that intensity right in front of her.

This must be why Gebura called her here to begin with.  "I... I don't want to cause you or her any trouble, no. I... " Shivering as she clamps her hands around her elbows, Kukuru inhales stiffly through her nose with a noisy snort. "Just want them to learn, too. But if that causes problems, then when do... When's the right time? The right way?"
Angela "'Lili' is who asked me to talk to you." Gebura says. "Only reason I threw you was so we could have a real conversation so don't hold that against me." Physical trauma is, in Gebura's mind, a weaker form of enforcement compared to disappointment. But she doesn't want to dally around trying to work duck past all of Kukuru's optimistic presumptions. Best to dodge that real fast and quick. It isn't pleasant knowing that her eyes are watering either but Gebura has learned to not let tears sway her.

"Believe I answered this one." Gebura says. "Until the Queen is dealt with, follow the Commander's lead. If she's not around, mine or Kana's. After that Queen is destroyed, you can do what you want. Least as far as I'm concerned. That's fair of me, right?"

She is quiet for a moment and adds, "Don't have to remind you what happens if we lose that match with her. Could doom worlds. Now's not the time to get frustrated over personal slights. Afterwards, I don't care."
Kukuru "A real conv...? Um. Is that how-" Wait. Maybe that is how it works. Kukuru's never quite had it happen to herself, but she's heard time and time again about people getting into fights to understand each other. Unknown to her, Gebura's method of shocking her into not just listening to her through rosy filters certainly has sped up the process considerably as well!

It's still not necessarily fast, of course, as Kukuru needs to dedicate all of her focus on trying to understand what Gebura's telling her. She didn't disagree with the methods, but the decision making process. The order of doing things. The... Timing? That would make a lot more sense, considering the context of the Queen's threat to the world. She's right. We need to protect Rita's family and her people, and going after those people that betrayed them now would be...

"... Mmn. I get it, Gebby. We... I-I acted too early." Finally, the tearing up seems to stop, and Kukuru even manages a weak chuckle to try and look like she's not still shaken up about how much I keep messing things up for everyone. "We've gotta focus on stopping the Queen first, and not those... Those humans doing things even monsters wouldn't."

She's not smiling at that last part, and even her tone and volume are duller than it usually is. "S.. Sorry, Gebby. I don't want this to keep happening, either." She sniffles and rubs her eyes, wiping away some tears before finally smiling a little more widely than before, with her eyes still open.

"I'll wait until after to teach-Wait. Oh... I know! We can have them fight in the front with us, too. Then they can be useful and learn at the same time! Right?"
Angela Gebura, of course, doubts she'll ever understand Kukuru but as long as SHE understands the words coming out of her speakers...

Gebura considers clarifying, being specific and precise but she figures that painting with a broad brush here is for the best. There's no way she could watch out for every single possible misinterpration--or overapplication--from Kukuru but if she can hold on until after the problem in Rita's world is dealt with, she can worry about the rest later.

"There's a time and place for everything." Gebura agrees. "And an amount of appropriate force for every occassion." But she can't really avoid that much.

''Those humans doing things even monsters wouldn't''

Gebura snorts. "Monsters do plenty. But plenty of monsters are human. Tale as old as time."

Kukuru says she doesn't want this to keep happening. Gebura isn't sure she can trust those words but it's hard not to trust--

''Then they can be useful and learn at hte same time!''

Gebura stares. "...Kukuru they'd just get in the way. I can tell the Commander I talked to you?"

She is neither very emotive or elaobrate, she prefers to get to the point.
Kukuru Things are back on track! Even though Kukuru doesn't quite have a full grasp on what the right timing for punishing those people would be, she and Gebura are already agreeing that the timing is, indeed, important. That's enough to keep that smile on her face, even though there's still that twinge of uncertainty lingering in Kukuru's voice.

"Time, place, and appropriate force... Mmhm! I'll just have to keep watching you and Lili and everyone to understand that better, then. I still haven't figured it out yet, even though I've been trying this long."

She laughs, but it's nowhere near as mirthful as her usual. It hurts, thinking about just how often this has happened, and her expression starts to darken a little more. Thankfully...

'Monsters do plenty. But plenty of monsters are human. Tale as old as time.'

Rather than getting pulled out of her funk by something happy, Kukuru snaps out of it when Gebura instead ends up confusing her. "What? But monsters aren't human, and humans aren't monsters." She points at the drills/horns on the sides of her head. "Humans don't have these, and monsters don't have..."

She glances around briefly, realizing there's no actual humans in the room to even point at for an example. Kukuru actually chuckles lightly once she realizes that mistake, seemingly back to (almost) normal even when Gebura stares at her again after that last suggestion.

"Isn't that how they'd be the most useful, though? Mm... Oh. Right. Time and.. Things. Okay!" Despite not understanding, Kukuru finally manages to cheer back up somewhat with a firm nod at Gebura. "Yeah, that's fine. And... After all this is done. Can I talk to you again?"

Her expression softens again, even though she had looked so startled by that stare just a little while ago. "I... I wanna pick your brain about this time and place and force stuff again sometime. When we're not dealing with all that."
Angela Angela is distracted with comms and pointedly not paying attention to why Gebura asked the Control department to be cleared out for a minute. If she pays too much attention to Gebura's rage, then she will have to stop it. And if she has to stop it, she won't break the right way.

But the more Kukuru claims to understand, the less confident Gebura is that she does understand. She sees Kukuru's expression darken, studying Kukuru carefully as ever.

"Well, guess that's more philosophy." Gebura says. "Wrong person for that."

''Isn't that how they'd be the most useful, though?''

"...You saw how people froze up, didn't you?" Her tone is more tired than furious now but--

--Kukuru does surprise her, more positively, when she asks to pick her brain. Gebura's eye snaps back to her.

She thinks it over.

"...Sure, we can talk about Fixer Etiquette sometime." Gebura says. "If you've got any more questions, I'd take 'em up with the Commander. Not like I'm an expert at reading other people."

She lights her cigarette and takes a long drag.

"I'm done so if you wanna go feel free, or if you want to check on your pals go ahead. I have to clear this floor for use again."
Kukuru "They did freeze up, yeah... HMmn. Well, as long as we make sure they go somewhere they can't cause more trouble... We'll be okay." Kukuru affirms with a slow nod. She's still thinking about what to do with them, but only briefly as her mind wanders elsewhere as it often does.

"You said you might be the wrong person for philoso... Phop... That stuff, but I don't think that's true." Once again, Kukuru's expression softens a little more, and she lets out a vaguely pleased noise when Gebura mentions asking Lilian. "Angie and Lili... They know so much about all sorts of things, but I can't even come close to understanding them sometimes. I try! But..."

She can feel that funk starting to set in again, but now's not the right time or place for that. Instead, she focuses on the positive, and it takes only a little bit longer for her to laugh outright. "I think... You're a better teacher than you give yourself credit for, because you're not as much of an expert like them."

Clapping her hands together, Kukuru finally straightens herself back up, then reaches into one of her skirt's pockets. "Mhm! I'll check around a bit, but before that..."

Kukuru pulls a flask out of her pocket and twists the cap off. "Do you want a drink? Or... A cleaning?" She gestures at the cleaning and painting supplies she had brought along earlier.

Thankfully, she'll actually take no for an answer.
