Ayako Hasekawa     A pale blue light once again illuminates one of the side roads in Spring. And one Ayako Hasekawa is sitting at her usual fortune telling place setting with her usual pale blue flames floating by her. However, instead of the usual place by a tree, the sky blue cloth mat, table, and two black lacquered chairs all with a blue rose motif is by a large quantity of stones. She's gently shuffling a deck of tarot cards on her overly large, draping sleeves, but that's not really what she's paying attention to right now!

For Toph, though... none of that really matters, now does it? The gentle sounds of water flowing from a creek nearby are the main sounds. That and Ayako hmming and talking to herself. "Hmm... maybe a bit rounder?"

Two balls of water are engulfing a round gray stone the size of a baseball and a similar sized small pumpkin. Instead of carving a jack o'lantern, she appears to be carving a pumpkin out of stone!
Toph Beifong     It's nice with a break now and then, and Toph does need a slight break from working on her Halloween costume most of the day. But then again, it's going to be so freaking awesome. And hopefully it means she will get lots and lots of delicious candy. It's still what she thinks about as she walks down the road in Spring. It's not a place she usually visits.

Yet her attention is easily caught by the familiar voice and just what is going on there.

The blind girl blinks as she steps forward, a curious look on her face. "Whatchya doing there?" she asks, even as she feels that Ayako is doing something with a rock for some reason. It's a bit interesting to meet people face to face and have a shape to connect the voice to. "Need any help?" After all, rocks and earth is part of her expertise.
Ayako Hasekawa     "Ah! That voice." Ayako smiles cheerfully at Toph as she continues to shuffle the deck of tarot cards on her sleeves. "Good evening, Toph! I'm doing two things. One, I'm telling people's fortunes with my tarot cards." She nods her head once. "And two, I'm trying to make a jack o'lantern out of a rock. But to do that, I'm working on making the rock shaped like a pumpkin first." A bright giggle escapes her lips. "It's taking some time, but... it's coming along."

Ayako startles slightly once she thinks it over. "Oh that's right, earth bender! Hmm... if you want to help, you can." She smiles softly. "But other than that... want to have your fortune told?"
Toph Beifong     "Fortunes with cards...?" Pardon Toph for looking a bit sceptical at first, arching an eyebrow. Oh right, she heard people talk about how they got their fortunes told and how it was eerily accurate for some reason. Or they thought it was. Not a very spiritual person at heart, the stubborn earthbender is set in her ways and is rather practical when it comes to her way of thinking.

For instance, it would be easier to shape the pumpkin for her. So she walks over and sits down next to Ayako, finding herself right at home as she reaches out to take the rock if allowed. "It's not gonna take long if you let me do it. And heh, if you want to tell my fortune, go ahead." The blind girl can't help but grin though, wondering just what kind of crazy concepts those cards will try to pass off as truth.

"Any particular shape you want this pumpkin in?" she asks, obviously eager to show off her bending.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head once. "Un! Fortune telling with cards." She giggles brightly when she notes Toph's skepticism. "Oh don't worry. It's not like I can really magically tell the future. If it comes true, it comes true." She smiles softly and shrugs her shoulders helplessly.

Ayako nods her head slowly and the balls of water engulfing the pumpkin and the rock withdraws-and absorbs back into Ayako's body. The rock is gently left on the table for Toph to take. "Oh... if you could make it look like this pumpkin here." A sleeve gestures to the pumpkin. "Except maybe make it hollow on the inside?" She giggles softly and then sets the deck of cards on the table. "Oh! But could you cut the deck of cards?"
Toph Beifong     Well, at least it doesn't sound like Ayako is pushing this as absolute truth, which would have made things perhaps a bit more amusing to Toph. But if this is just for fun, then why not? It's not like she thinks it will matter much besides providing some entertainment.

The rock is studied a bit as Toph puts her hands on it, and she nods her head. "I can hollow it out easily. Want it pumpkin shaped, I assume? With a creepy face?" She might have to touch the pumpkin a bit to get it the same... but it shouldn't prove to be too difficult.

But first... let's do as Ayako tells her to. Toph reaches out and picks up about half of the cards and sets it aside. "So you just look at the cards, huh? Been doing this for long?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako leans back comfortably in her chair and smiles softly. "Oh, no need to carve a face. I need to think about that myself. But the pumpkin shaping and it being hollow are definite!" She giggles softly.

She then leans forward and gently takes the cut deck. Ayako takes a deep breath and then focuses-it seems she takes this seriously! "Un. I've been doing this for a while, although I admit I'm not very good at it." Five cards are dealt onto the table in the shape of a cross. "But... I still try my best!" Her sleeve moves towards the card closest to Toph. "This card represents your past." And then flips it over. The Moon, upright. "Hmm... You had a lot of uncertainty and doubt, huh?"
Toph Beifong     "Hmmm. I will reinforce the top and bottom then just to make it easier to carve it for you later..." Toph muses, then begins working on shaping the rock. Not that Ayako can see much, as the earthbender works on making it hollow.

Not very good? "Some people thought you were good," Toph says and concentrates on the work at hand. "Trying your best is the first step to becoming really good if you ask me."

he first card makes Toph blink and arch an eyebrow. "No, not really." That seems weird. "I have always known what I've liked, even when I was younger and stuck at home..." Sighing, Toph moves one hand slightly, and the rock suddenly starts to change shape, one vertical part of it shaping itself and starting to resemble a pumpkin. For now Toph works slowly, narrowing her eyes as she mutters a bit. "I just wondered if I would have to hide the real me from my parents forever..."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako pauses for a moment... and then glances down at The Moon. "That... that could work for this card too... something being something different than it appears to be." She nods her head once... and then blushes lighlty. "A-ahh? People thought I was good at this? I'm flattered." She takes a moment to watch the rock be bended and claps her hands together happily, "Oh oh, you're good at this!" And then giggles softly.

Ayako then looks to the card on the left of the cross. "Well, this card represents your present." Her sleeve flips it over quickly. The Empress, upright. "Ah... Hmm... I take it the real you is out and about now, though, huh?" She giggles and nods her head slowly. "And your current parents are quite loving and supportive of it too."
Toph Beifong     At that Toph grins impishly. "Really? You're just not saying that to impress me?" she teases, moving her hand to work gradually around the stone as she reshapes it to Ayako's specifications. When Ayako giggles and comments on her skill at earthbending, Toph laughs a little herself. "Of course I'm good! I'm the greatest earthbender there is! You should see me when I'm fighting!"

The question regarding her present card earns a nod, and Toph looks pleased. "Yup! I don't have a reason to hide the real me from the Union, as nobody is trying to stop me from doing what I do best. And... yeah, Goldie and Pepper have always supported me and want me to be happy." The grin on Toph's face turns a bit softer, a genuine smile crossing her lips as she considers this.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head and smiles cheerfully. "I don't pay empty compliments. When I say something's good, I think something's good!" She nods her head quickly. "Oh oh oh... now I do want to see you in action fighting."

Ayako then smiles softly, "Ahh, that's good to hear. A happy home life really is one of the best things." She nods her head slowly and then looks to the card on the right of the cross. "This card represents the immediate future." Her sleeve flips it over. Strength, upright. "Hmm... disicipline and control... or a situation where you need both and need to put everything you've got inside into?"
Toph Beifong     As she's getting more used to shaping the rock, Toph works slightly faster. Is the rock getting larger? Looks like it! After all, the material inside it has to go somewhere, and well... might as well make it properly pumpkin sized.

The next card immediately brings the grin back to Toph's face. "Oh, I have both! Earthbending is all about will and control! Rock is a stubborn element, and you need to know exactly what to do and show a rock who's boss! Not just my immediate future... I think it's all of my life, really?" Toph offers with a shrug.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako watches the rock get larger and more pumpkin-sized. "Ooo..." But then quickly snaps out of it as she looks back to her cards cheerfully. "Hmm.. that's true! It might just become more of your life then!" She giggles softly. "Although, maybe the next card might elaborate a little more?" Her sleeve moves to flip over the card closest to her. The Emperor, upright. "Hmm... structure, stability, and... maybe something to do with your current father?"

Ayako stares thoughtfully at the two future cards. "Hmm... so a future of stability..." And then glances at the two other cards that are face up. "I'm thinking... this is telling me that you'll have a happy, stable family life in the future." She smiles cheerfully.
Toph Beifong     While she wasn't too curious about it before, it does look like Toph is paying attention now as she seems more focused on Ayako than on the rock. Well, she is nearly done anyways, moving her hands slowly and steadily.

"Weeeell... there is structure and stability with my new family... though I would say that Pepper is the one who really provides the structure. She kinda keeps Goldie in check, just as much as she keeps me in check." Tony is less strict, really. But it's a nice thought, really. And if it really will be as Ayako says it will be... then hey, she's not about to complain. "Gotta say that would be nice... hmmm. Can you read more into that?" Not that she really believes that these cards can tell the future, but it might be fun to compare!
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako shakes her head slowly, "I'm afraid I can't really go any deeper than that." Her amber gaze goes to the card in the center of the cross. "The only card left is a card of guidance. It can be helpful, but it can also lead you astray. It might tell you more, but it might not also..." She sighs softly, "But, it's up to you if you want me to turn that card over."
Toph Beifong     "Huh." Not deeper than that. Perhaps she ought to drag some more people here to have their fortunes read sometime? Yeah... that might do! And they might also think it's fun as well, who knows? Toph hardly thinks they will be against it.

But back to her own reading for now. The card of guidance... that sounds innocent enough, and Toph shrugs. "Eeeh, why not? It's not like I'm going to blindly follow your reading anyway!" she states with a grin, partially caused by her own silly joke at her own expense. Just because the other stuff actually fit doesn't mean she will do something if it goes against all logic and reason and puts her in danger! /That/ would be stupid! Finishing shaping the rock, Toph leans forward, a slightly curious look on her face. "What kinda card is it?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles sadly at Toph. "Sorry, Toph. I have a hard time figuring out what some cards mean sometimes." She then giggles brightly. "That's true, that's true! You don't need to blindly follow what my cards say." Her eyes quickly note the pumpkin-shaped rock now resting on the table. "Oh oh... good job, Toph! This stone pumpkin looks good!" She giggles softly.

And then nods her head crispy once. "Alright... let's see what this card is then..." Ayako's sleeve turns over the center card, although with some hesitation. The Devil, upright. "Hmm... huh. Follow your passion and your instincts. At least... that's what I think this card is telling you to do."
Toph Beifong     "Eh, just reading text is hard enough if you ask me. Reading cards might be harder for all I know," Toph offers with a shrug, then pats the pumpkin shaped rock. "It was a piece of cake! Let me know if you need my bending for something else, okay?"

When Ayako talks about the guidance card, Toph can't help but laugh. "HAH! I already do that, don't I? So... I just keep on doing that, no problem!" Oh yes, she likes that. Then again, Toph always does what she wants most of the time, doesn't she?
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako looks at the pumpkin-shaped rock now on the table and claps her hands together happily. "Oh oh oh... this is a wonderful pumpkin rock, Toph!" She smiles softly as she leans forward and shuffles the face up cards back into the deck. "Oh, I will! Now... I have to figure out what kind of face to carve on it... Hmm..."

And then turns back to Toph. "Un! So keep it up and I'm sure you'll be perfectly fine." Ayako leans back comfortably in her chair as she shuffles the deck of cards... and thinks over faces for the jack o'lantern!
