Gaius Van Baelsar The Factory has been taken control of by the Union for some time and Gaius has made plans to get it back; Hopefully. As such several black metal airships coming racing in to aid in bringing down the defense.

Shortly troops deploy to handle some of the outlining areas, but what has really come to 'take control' is what drops down from the metal crates and then when those crates open, the Magitek Vanguards come online with a glow of fiery orange flashing through the head slits.

Soon the Vanguards start to march their way across the rough ground. Their missiles exploding the areas around them with blue trails of fire and explosions. The drill arms slashing aside any who gets in there way.

As always-- the Garlean Empire was making that push and it would take someone to push them back...
Bahamut      The Garlean Empire's luck today is not so good. As the Vangard start their march of destruction, a distress call goes out from the defending soldiers. And it is only a few moments later that a familiar shape comes spiraling through a warp gate, then wings up into the sky. Bahamut, the king of dragons, surveys the battlefield, then plummets down. The sounds of him ripping through the air can easily be heard as he dives, and he spreads his wings again just in time to slow his fall enough not to hurt himself.

It still makes a loud thud as he hits the ground, and a cloud of dust and debris is kicked up by the impact. He lets out a powerful roar as he rises from his crouched landing posture to his full height, the folds his arms over his chest and grins. "You appear to be strong warriors, but without your leader...the Black Wolf, was it? I estimate your chances of winning to be...negligible." the tall dragon says, his eyes scanning the enemy troops as the allied troops retreat behind him. "I will give you a chance to withdraw, without casualties or conditions. But, you must take that offer now. If you do not, I will attack."

Bahamut stands there, stone still, a grin on his face and his glowing yellow eyes focused on the foremost of the vangard. "Make your choice."
Gaius Van Baelsar Though the troops know this is /bad/, very bad, the Vanguards are drones-- machines-- that do as they are told to do. As such the five of them turn to face the Dragon who addresses them. Their visor slits burn brightly before the Ceruleum shoulder missile packs open up.

It seems their answer is clear. They will not stand down.

As for the men and women of the Garlean Empire they have already been told as soon has Bahamut made the scene-- if the Vanguards lose... BOOK IT.

Two of the Vanguards then split off, with two others doing the same in another direction. Seeming to be trying to circle around the Aeon. As for the one, it then unleashes the payload of Ceruluem warhead right for the dragon king, which will explode on impact and do so with a blue bloom of destruction.
Bahamut      The Dragon King is apparently so confident that he doesn't even try to dodge or block. He just tanks the hit. The missles explode against him, and when the smoke clears, he is grinning even more. "As you wish." he says, then moves into a more fighter-like stance. His arms are held out to his sides, and his sharp talons clench and unclench, then...he launches himself forward toward the single Vangard. He brings one arm back, then slashes it forward, aiming to either impale the thing on his claws or slash it open with them.

"You have made your choice! Now, you will be destroyed like the fiends you are!" the dragon king bellows as he attacks.
Gaius Van Baelsar The Vanguard is striked directly. The massive claws dig into the armor plating, slashing some of it away. However at this distance, the Vanguard goes to strike back, swinging its Cermet drills right for the massive dragons own hide.

As for the others they take their positions and actually open fire. Their own drills spinning up before launching the 'shell' over another set right for Bahamut while he is distracted by the one. It seems these drones at least know how to be tactical!
Bahamut      Drills and shells dig into Bahamut's own armored scales as he grapples with the Vangard unit in front of him. He growls as he feels a few furrows along his hide. But, he did leave himself vulnerable, so he was expecting a counter attack even if he couldn't defend well against it. But, he did have a plan. He leaps over his current target so that all the Vangard units are once again on a single side of him, then with a roar he builds energy that collects around shoulder level in front of him.

He raises his arms, then thrusts them forward, and several spheres of his non-elemental energy are launched outward, somewhat haphazzardly seeking their targets. They explode on impact, and there is a chance that they will petrify part or all of their target.
Gaius Van Baelsar The Vanguards move, as the spheres come. A few caught in the wake of the explosion, blasting apart in a blue flash of brilliance from the sudden strike. Where there was five-- now there is three. One of them nearly gets impacted, but gets flipped over by the explosion. The ground around it becoming even harder stone.

The Magitek Vanguards quickly regroup up, before they make a dash for Bahamut, two swing around and then move in to impale, while the other leaps up to strike with a hard downward force. There is, perhaps in the Centurions mind who watches this from up high-- no way the Vanguards will defeat Bahamut.

Cause though it is clear that this is not the same /one/, it is also clear that they have nothing currently to handle such a powerful force. Though as the Centurion taps his comm-- he also knows that Gaius will not be pleased to hear his 'next favorite' dragon has shown himself.
Bahamut      The main problem with being big and heavy is that you aren't very agile. Bahamut brings his arms in to block the blades, saving himself from being impaled, but he can't stop that downward force. He growls in pain, then backflips away from the group and comes up casting a spell. The spell? Gravija. He aims it at the center of the group, but the spell domes out, attempting to surround the three remaining Vanguards. If they are caught within the field, the force of gravity increases by a large amount, threatening to crush the Vanguards beneath their own weight.

"Your fighting powers are impressive, but fighting machines gives no sense of accomplishment. There is no heart in the opponent. However, I understand the desire to preserve life." Bahamut says as the purple-black energy field pops up, with blue-white energy bolts flowing around the interior like a Tesla device.
Gaius Van Baelsar The gravity catches the Vanguards and slams them together. The sheer force trying to weigh them down. Red lines can seen glowing in some of their cracks as they try to push their own Ceruleum drives. One of them starts to leak some type of blue fluid from the sheer pressure being pushed down on them.

When the telsa energy happens though, Bahamut will notice that the armor is-- repelling the electrical current. It would seem that the Vanguard's 'bodies' are not conducive to electrical current-- oddly enough. Then again, if anyone understand Garlean tech, they are away that anything Magitek is build to handle those who use magic. Given natural born Garleans can't even /use/ magic.

Once the spell ends, the Vanguard who is leaking Ceruleum suddenly rushes right for Bahamut. Blue flames are bursting from its body and like a suicide runner. It leaps forward to slam into Bahamut and then try to explode against his body. Sacrificing itself, for the other two who are in--- slightly better shape.

The explosive force would be like a missile going off, but this time-- with far more shrapnel of parts.
Bahamut      Bahamut sees the rusher, and suspects what is coming, so he crouches low and raises a hand, palm facing the attacker. "Reflect."

A field of energy appears in front of him, and when the attacker impacts it and explodes, all of the force and magical energy, as well as the shrapnel, is..well...reflected back at the other two Vanguard. Instead of Bahamut getting peppered with deadly shards of magitech, the remaining two machines are in danger of being torn apart by it and blasted apart by the force of the explosion.

Bahamut stays crouched behind his magical shield until the energy of the suicide attack fades, then he stands up tall again and crosses his arms, grinning. "Who is next?" he asks the machines, though the commander might swear he was being looked at through their eyes. If he is watching from such a viewpoint.
Gaius Van Baelsar The shrapnel comes back and cuts across the two Vanguards, both which raise up their drill like arms in a defensive measure. Though once the scattering of parts end, the two drones look directly at Bahamut.

It is a shame they do not speak or 'seem' to be alive, but they also don't know the meaning of 'fear'. It is probably this very reason they just keep attacking, even though they are the only two left of the Vanguards sent for this assault.

Both of them have their response though to Bahamut ready and with the Ceruluem charging up in them, they unleash another wave of missiles. Which then start to rain down and around the mighty dragon. Attempting to blast apart his very shield and maybe a bit of him as well!

However unlikely that will be.
Bahamut      Bahamut's shield fades quickly, so when those missiles come in he has no real defense. And as mentioned, he isn't the most agile of opponents. But, after taking the powerful hit, Bahamut is still standing, albeit looking battered, with several cracked armored scales and a bit of blood flowing from a particularly nasty wound. Still, he continues grinning. "I will have to salvage you five to improve the machina back home." he says as he spreads his wings, then...with a powerful flap, launches himself at the two remaining Vanguards.

He may not be agile, but Bahamut's speed is pretty high. He closes the distance in a second and his powerful claws attempt to dig into the two machines, then if his grip is firm he brings them together in a classic move. Bang the two badguy's heads together.
Gaius Van Baelsar The Vanguards are slammed together, before they nearly toppled over. At this point the sound of retreat is called. As it is obvious from where the Centurion is watching that this battle will not be one that they will win.

Though Bahamut may notice as the fight draws on, the first one he took down-- the Ceruleum fire has yet to go away and if anything-- its burning the armor apart into nothing. As for the other two who still stand, one of them staggers back still, apparently having trouble readjusting itself.

While the other goes to take aim with its drill arms and then with a loud 'pop', the drills are fired off, along with another set of missiles. Apparently this one didn't care that Bahamut was in such close proximity.
Bahamut      Bahamut watches the one stumble back, and is expecting the other to do the same. So imagine his surprise when he is nailed by another set of drills and missiles. He roars as the drills imbed themselves in his body a few inches deep, then growls. "Machines. They never known when to quit. Or perhaps your commander does not value you. Losing such powerful combat units in a battle that you are obviously not going to win is wasteful." he says before noticing the one burning away. "Hmm...it seems there will be little to nothing left to salvage. A pity." he says.

Then, he turns his attention back to the two remaining combatants. He grins, then leaps back and lands on all fours. He takes a moment to dig his hands and feet into the ground, each one planting with a stomp. He opens his mouth, then there is an unmistakable sound of the build-up of energy, and that energy forms into a sphere in front of his mouth. The sphere grows until it is nearly as broad as his body is, then with a roar he fires a solid beam of pure energy at the two remaining Vanguards. The beam expands beyond what it seems Bahamut should be able to fire, and wherever it hits something there is an explosion of energy, obliterating anything in its path.
Gaius Van Baelsar The Megaflare fires and the Vanguards are ripped apart by it. By this point Bahamut will find that all the Garleans were here, have already left.

The Centurion in charge sitting back in his chair with his head tilted to the side. "No matter the differences.. that is still a beautiful.. yet devastating attack. If only we can find away to master that ourselves without the need of the massive Magitek Cannon.."

"..Ha. Probably see what Lord Van Baelsar thinks.. building a Magitek drone designed to handle heavy impact forces.. that will be a resource killer."

"..but one day. I am sure the Empire will figure it out." The Centurion idly muses, "..or maybe the day when I find myself to be a Legatus.."
