Quentyn Westwind     Pumped up from his success with the first extended-listing quests, it doesn't take long before Quentyn's browsing Dolet's catalogue again! The more shaky sections since Galianda's still early in its integration to the multiverse, and those there just don't have much information on it yet.

Quest: Info gathering (technology, unknown). Coordinates: (GITS Earth). Pay: 500 gil.
Well, Quentyn's not really in it for the money anyway.

And so the student white mage sets out for the warp gate that leads into this place...
Kotone Yamakawa It was like going over a grave Kotone knew, but you could find stuff in the old ruins of Tokyo if you were careful. Being out in the multivese had made her a lot less fearful here, she wear wearing light winter clothing and had a tool belt on along with a backpack. She'd got into one of the sections that had not flooded out she did not want to deal with water, given she didn't have the mods needed to swim so here she was it was a blown out ruined streets where the bomb had hit. She was not foolish and nor was she unarmed as eh moved along one might notice she was wearing a shock glove for one and had a pistol on her person as she moved towards what was once a parking garage in the hopes of finding a salvagable classical bike or car.

"...this is down right relaxing compared to kingsmouth..."
Quentyn Westwind     Kotone's not the only one prowling these ruins. Notebook (with a pen stuck in the binding) in hand, the Galianda student moves from place to place, occasionally noting something down or, with a pencil, making a quick sketch. Funnily enough, he also tends to keep out of the flooded areas. He looks up from his notebook when a voice makes its way to him from a small gap in a ruined wall near the parking garage...

Quentyn steps forward and out from behind the wall to get a better view, and holds up a hand in a sort of wave to greet the stranger, and gives a small, polite smile in greeting. He tilts his head. "What's that kingsmouth place?" the student asks curiously.

Quentyn, being out adventuring, has his full kit: PDW holstered at this thigh, bookbag and medkit slung across bit back, and a somewhat larger/longer softcase with contents unknown.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa doesn't quite make for her gun not yet but she's clealry guarded as she does seem to be looking at Quetyn over with some sense of waryness a sshe tries to get a feel for him. She knows there's others out here a lot are harmless but there may be groups like the Yazuka here or someone like blind fold ivan. There's a reason she's not got her network systems up and running like now. She looks at the student.

"A dangerous question and what the heck is a /kid/ doing out here?!"

She's not hostile but she seems concerned to see a kid out here.
Shir Run down buildings were full of all sorts of treasure just waiting to be claimed. Of course there might be security measures still in place but that just made things more interesting. Shir has managed to arrive outside of the same building as Quentyn and Kotone. The thief peers at the two before approaching, they didn't look like cops or any kind of security. So she figures it's safe to approach, she does have her knives after all and she can likely out run them if things do turn south. "Never been to Kingsmouth, but this place does kind of remind me of Arima."
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn blinkblinks and holds up a hand (and notebook!) defensively. Notably, while that's not the hand he would reach for his PDW with, but he doesn't even put his hand on the weapon just now. "Um... sorry--"

But Kotone's wariness does put the boy on edge enough that when Shir shoes up, *then* that hand of his twitches towards the weapon. But only twitches, before he relaxes a bit again. She too gets a small, quick smile in greeting.

Quentyn gives an apologetic, awkward smile to Kotone. "Um... Just looking around..." He fiddles with this glasses. "Is this place dangerous? And um, can you tell me what the formal name is?
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa seems to be more concerned at this poiiunt as she looks at them for a moment with a bit of an odd look.

"This is old Tokyo and well..."

Shge trails out and does pull her weapon as she sees Shir popping up and she now does have her hand on her weapon. Another really? What the heck was going on here, Kotone did seem on edge and there's an odd thing Quentyn might notice, she's got no mist from her brechint or when she talks it's kinda odd.
Shir "Man, now I kind of wish I dressed a bit warmer." Of course Shir had came here on impulse just like most things she tends to do. She smiles back at Quentyn, his age doesn't seem to phase her too much. By now she's been around the Multiverse long enough to know that appearances aren't always what they seem. Of course her mood quickly shifts as she notices Kotone go for her weapon, "Hey, I'm not going to mug you or anything!" She crosses her arms, both to show she's not going for a weapon and trying to stay warm.
Quentyn Westwind     The student blows on his hands to warm them, and it's about then that he looks at Kotone's mouth, as though there's something... off. But worry about that later--

Scribble. 'Old To Kyo'. And OK, maybe Quentyn was a bit hasty to call it safe. No, he still doesn't actually put his hand on the weapon--maybe he's had a class or two on (preventing) escalation, or is just cool under pressure, but his posture is definitely wary. Quentyn starts to reach as though to scratch at his head--but remembering the notebook in hand stops him. And his right hand, well, he apparently wants to keep that free. With an awkward, lopsided grin, "Ehehm... I guess that's a 'yes' to dangerous?"

Shir not going for weapons too is good. He glances sidelong at Kotone to see how this before he does anything else.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa lowers her hand away from he own weapon from the moment she isn't where who Shir is either but she's keeping an eye on her. "You picked a funny place go out tonight I got to wonder what brings both of you here to this grave yard?"
Shir "Well, I could say the same thing about you being here?" Shir's quick to point out. "Besides there might be something of value here that might have got overlooked." This place looks like it's been uninhabited for years, though it's strange that it has been picked over more. Then again it looks like a warzone here, maybe people didn't want to remember what had happened.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn, somewhat abruptly, looks around carefully at their surroundings. As though he's expecting to see someone watching the trio out here. And apparently concerned enough to take his eyes from the more immediate danger of the other two.

"Um. Just exploring, like I said..." He gives a very brief, but apologetic, smile. "Sorry for the scare--" He holds up his notebook hand defensively again, and gives the two a slight, polite nod. "I'll be on my way."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "Most of it's been picked clean or wenty up when the city was hit. IF not the elemtns got most htings hwat I'm looking for I doubt is something you'd eityher bee interested in." Sh sighs. #E#E "No... don't go it's bette than being alone out here I guess." Her hand is awya from the weapon and she seems almost a bit tired now. "I been too on edge I was hoping to find a hulekd car or Motorcycle out here that might be restorable to be honest."
Shir "Well, I think most vehicles would have been driven out of here or taken to a chop shop by now." Shir was thinking more along the lines of smaller things that might have been overlooked. "Are you a mechanic or something? She doubts they're going to find luxury sports cars just sitting on the street. "Yeah, I doubt everyone out here is friendly as us." She figures it wouldn't hurt have someone watching her back. This wasn't a huge heist or anything after all.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn hesitates, as though he's having thoughts about leaving anyway... but after a few seconds, his thoughts seem to settle on staying. Curiosity, if that's it, can be a powerful force. ...but he looks around at their surroundings again, carefully and thoroughly. Curiosity, or perhaps a sense of vulnerability.

At last the student looks back to Kotone. He fiddles with his glasses for a second. "Hey um... Are you a necromancer?" Curious? Sure. But the question also has a bit of a point to it. But he also listens for an answer to Shir's question, as though being both a mechanic and a necromancer would be a perfectly normal explanation for... well, whatever it is he's trying to explain.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes and a designer of such I do custom jobs at times. There's an car garage near here that seemed mostly intact that's where I was thinking of looking. Who knows it's been over decade since the city got nuked so I'd not be sure either way it's the best bet and it would get us out of the wind."

She pauses for a moment at the odd question and get this blank look on her face.

"...A Necromancer? Why would you ask something like that? Come one lets get out of the wind." With that she's heading for the Garage.

"Don't worry I brought a light."
Shir "Why the hell would you ask if someone is a necromancer out of the blue?" Shir rolls her eyes a bit that. Her response isn't as polite as Kotone's. She knows necromancers exist but has no idea why Quentyn's brought up the subject of all sudden. She quickly decides to change the topic.

"Wait, this place got nuked? I mean I figured there was a huge explosion...but nuclear weapons...yeah, let's hit the garage." Shir's upbeat tone had suddenly vanished.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn flinches at the rebuke... and he curls a finger against his chin and taps it for a moment, and moves to follow Kotone. Well, his first question was already pretty blunt... but he softens the next comments with a brief, apologetic smile. "Um... You're not breathing, and, you're hard to..." He hesitates, mouth moving a little as the white mage searches for the right word. "...perceive." The talk of nuclear weapons, other than it must have been something powerful, is lost on the boy--he listens to Shir curiously, but doesn't add another question to one he's already asked.

As they move towards the garage Quentyn takes out his own little lantern, but (if anyone can tell) it's magitek rather than, well, plain/conventional technology. He hangs it from his belt, sticks the notebook in his pack, and sticks his hands in his hoodie's pockets to keep warm. Looking between Kotone and Shira, the student offers yet another small, polite smile and says, "I'm Quentyn, by the way." He leaves the introduction as simple as that this time around.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa pauses for a moment and tlts her head "So you nothed heh your pretty obstaant and no I'm not dead or a necromancer."

She makes a face.

"Do you hear me about screming death to the living?"

Ya her experiance ewith necromancy has not been good, the ones on his world would honestly floor her. For now however she looks again as she's getting in to the ld garaget there's a few rusted out huls but osme of the other levels might hold more and it's quite a mess here.

"Kotone and if your wondering I'm fully cyberized."
Shir Shir has limited knowledge of necromancy herself, but accusing someone of it wasn't normally a term of affection. She hadn't been really paid attention to notice to Kotone's lack of breath earlier. "I'm Shir." She figures giving her name might not be a bad idea. "Looks like this place might take a while to clean up." She can't help but to notice all the junk strewn about.

"I think you're going to need more than duct tape to fix these up." She does her best to lighten the mood. It certainly wouldn't hurt given what was being talked about before.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn chintaps with a curled finger again. "I don't think I've heard of any necromancers that scream about death," he points point mildly. Another moment's thought and he adds, "They're usually kind of quiet types." It doesn't seem to have dawned on the kid that some places might not view necromancers as kindly as his own world.

He turns on the lantern hanging from his belt as they step into the garage, looking around with only mild curiosity. "Nice to meet you, Kotone, Shir." The boy also gives a smile that seems geniune at the introductions. But that last word of Kotone's gets a look of greater curiosity and Quentyn tilts his head. "Cyber...ized?" Tasting the pronunciation of the word as much as he's asking about it.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "These ones, ya but duct tape can do more than you'd expect."

She looks at Quentyn.

"My experiance is nothing good ever comes from it."

What's she seen? She kinda peers at Quentyn strangly for a moment.

"Yes, as in my body is entirely a construct sad as I am to say. Your not from here are you." She does not even get into the bit on her brain for the moment.
Shir "Nope, I'm not from around here." Shir answers as she begins to dig through the junk. "So, there's nothing wrong with that. I mean I could technically be considered a construct myself." She doesn't seem too bothered by Kotone's revolution. She's kind of curious if they'll find anything salvageable after all this time.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn looks kind of blankly at Kotone. "They're supposed to be pretty good at helping solve murder cases? I mean yah, it's grim work but..." he shrugs, "--better than murderers getting away, yah?"

Construct? Quentyn perks a little. "You mean like a summon or an elemental--?" He cuts himself short. Weeellll... in his world summons are gods and magical constructs aren't intelligent, but maybe it works differently in some worlds? Shir gets a similarly curious look at her reveal.

The boy doesn't join in the junk-searching; seems like he's not especially interested. "I'm from Galianda." He punctuates the sentence with a quick smile.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa pauses at Shir looking confused as clearly she's still made of meat nd sheuigs at her she's not going ti press, there's not much, Shir might find some old Yen coins for her trouble so far but not much else a lot has decayed or just been looted allready.

"I have only been aware of one necromancer who'd do something like that. They are more prone with what information I have to trying to wipe out the living, trying to use hordes of thier risen minions as an army.. and the like."

She shrugs a little bit but wt the mention of an elemental.

"No, I mean as my body is entirely mechanical, and Galianda? Never heard of it I'm afraid but then again the multiverse is huge..."
Shir Well, change is better than nothing but Shir's hoping for something more valuable. "Yeah, necromancers aren't usually the friendly type. See anything you might be able to use in here?" She's not finding much at least in terms of working vehicles. "I haven't heard of Galianda myself, I'm from Motavia. And yeah the Multiverse is pretty big. I've been here 6 years and there's still plenty of places I haven't been yet." That's certainly true.
Quentyn Westwind     Mechanical body? Quentyn looks between Shir (is she also clockwork?) and Kotone several times, and to the latter, "No way." But he pushes up his glasses slightly and looks at Kotone very closely. Necromancers are all but forgotten.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "Yes, it is, every last bit made in a factory or a lab."

She moves head deeper into the garage pausing as she sees what seems to be an intact stairwell door but it's got an inactive electonic lock and she makes a face. She pauses gets some tool kit stuff out and works to start popping the cover plate.

"This might br promising and yes it's very common disturbingly so it's getting to the point you can't function in society without the basic brain implants and head jack..."
Shir "Yeah, I don't think I would want brain implants or a head jack myself. No offense or anything." Shir nods in agreement, that didn't sound too appealing to her. Her eyes light up at the electronic lock but Kotone beats her to it," Sure you don't want me to handle that?" It's her speciality after all.
Quentyn Westwind     What was curiosity slowly turns to dubiousness. "Um. If you say so..." Just a bit skeptical, and Quentyn just looks confused at the talk of brain jacks and, "Why would you implant anything into someone's brain?" Strange outworlders.

The watches the two fuss over the lock. "We could just shoot it..." he offers tentatively, but with a bit of a lopsided grin. He also takes the chance to turn and look around a little. "Hey um. Is there... any place near here that maybe has projection or focusing sorts of magitek?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa seems to be hooking up a battery or power parck of some sort ot the locking mehcanisma nd the old thing comes to life, a faint light glows red indicating it's locked. She makes a face puts down her tools, reaches for the back of her neck picks at something for a second and pulls a long cable with a jack out fo it whichs he plugs into the lock. She seems intently focused for a moment until a moment later the light turns green and the lock trips. It takes Kotone pushing on the door to get it to open but it works, she pulls the jack free and lets it snap back into her neck.

"Enhancements able to access information networks, correct certain brain disorders and diseses memory loss from old age and the like. Over clock how fast someone's mind can work. I'm not big into it but it has it's uses and I'm alive because of it."

She pauses looking at him.

"Magitek? The only magic you'll find on this world is the sort of slight of hand stage magicans do to enterain people. Magic's just a myth on my world here, some on if this door's intact there might be better salvage down here."
Shir "Can't someone hack into your mind with those though?" Shir already sees the downside. "That also works." She figures she could of handled the lock, but Kotone's already taken care of it. "So it sounds like you weren't always like this then." She mentioned she was alive because of it.

Her attention then turns towards Quentyn, "Can't help you there either. I don't use magic." Sure she's got special powers but they can't be considered that.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn starts to say something but just goes wide-eyed when Kotone literally PLUGS IN TO THE LOCK. "Oh-- Um-- That--" he stammers. And he blinkblinkblinks rapidly, fiddling with how his glasses sit on his face some more. He takes a breath. "Cosmos," he swears, "It's like I've stepped into a magipunk book..." The white mage reaches into his hood to run a hand through the hair behind his ear.

"--Um. If it's a myth..." Quentyn starts, finding his mental footing again. "How did you just open that computerized lock?" He uses a thumb to point back to the door she just hacked through, with its *obviously* magitek lock. And he looks between Shir and Kotone again. "Someone can get into your MIND if you do--wait." Yep, definitely in a magipunk story. Another breath as he catches up. "Shir's saying you were, um, a regular hume once..?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "I get that a lot."

She grins a little bit and has to wonder what the cyberpunk writers of the past who are still alive think of how things played out. They were certainly right about the cyberentic and while Corps are a problem they don't have full sway everywhere.

"Humm no that was an electonic lock nothing more nothing less. I hacked into it the model's old and the vunrablites of the modle as fairly well known and yes Shir. That's why cyberbrain security is a pretty big thing."

Things are a mess down here there's frozen water some more trashed and wrecked cars but they over all seem more intact at least htey been out of the direct elements.

"If we find any remians though leave them be I'll tag the proper people to come collect them for burrial."
Shir "Yeah, but still. I imagine getting junk e-mail and pop-up ads straight into your brain must be annoying. That and it must be hard to get any privacy." Shir already has enough harassing her as it is. "It would really suck to die in a place like this...jackpot." She's a bit surprised this place hasn't been cleaned out by now. It seems like Kotone should be able to find what she's looking for at least.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn falls quiet. Seems he's been given a lot to think about. But he lets himself fall back a few steps, and starts murmuring (excitedly!) into a radio hidden somewhere within his hoodie. In a few moments he comes back to the present, turning to shine his light on the cars. "Um... can you really repair--" Quentyn stops himself. Dumb question. Tell a machinist they can't do something and they take it as a challenge. He curls a finger and taps it on his chin. "How are you going to get them out? Um, have you got super strength or something--?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "If it's a motor cycle it should be not too much trouble to get it out, a car might have to be stripped on site here part by part or just recover what parts I can. Also there may be another way out from the side, right? I'm stronger than a unagumented human yes. I'm not military grade however."

She makes a bit of a face as she fans out into the level of the parking garage...
Shir "Or we could just tear a hole in this place. I doubt anyone will care." Shir's not normally the destructive type but there's not really any need to be subtle here. "Of course it might be see if there's anything worth the trouble here." She looks around on her own seperately from Kotone.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn nearly fumbles the radio control in his hoodie somewhere, like something he heard on it scared him. He stops using it. "Umm... got it," the student nods, staying nearby. Just in case there *is* anything dangerous around here. Mentally he's noting down there's a difference between military grade and well... he reaches into his bag to fish out that notebook again. Soon it's not all just mental notes. If anyone bothers to shoulder surf, they'll see he puts in a quick sketch of Kotone jacking the lock with the rest of his notes.

Eventually, Quentyn turns his curious blue eyes and attention back to Shir (whenever they're all close enough to speak, anyway). "Umm... if you're a 'construct,' but not like Kotone..?" What are you? But he leaves that much unsaid, marginally chewing on the edge of his pencil.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "I'm more thinking about our own safety really."

She notices the kids' taking a lot of notes and doing sketches and she says to him.

"So you want me to pose for a sketch Quentyn?"

Sha adks semeinglly amused as she contiunes moving towards a group of old motorcycles that seem promising.
Shir "Hey, you can draw me too. Though you might want to wait until we have more light. Well, he's a teenage boy, it's not too surprised he's interested in you. And you're not bad looking either." Shir can't help but to tease them both a bit with that. "Oh and I'm a clone." That techinically quailifies as being artfically created right?

Shir climbs on one of the motorcycles out of curiousity and getting a feel for it. It wasn't a bad fit for her.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn looks up from his notes, and shakes his head rapidly at the two's assumptions and blushes as red as his hair. "N-No--No one's going to believe me anyways but um, most proof I can give..." He trails off. A clone? That gets a look but after all the earlier things Quentyn just isn't as surprised.

But the boy pauses and looks Kotone over for a moment. "Um... could I try casting a few spells on you?" Glasses-adjust.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "What I don't mind you skethcing me I'm flattered honestly and if you want proof I could help with that so people don't think your crazy."

She grins widely fgor a moment then goes back to looking over the bikes she pauses.

"Umm sure what do you need to do for them?"

She tilts at him curious pausing from the bike she found shich looks to be possibly salvable and Shir would fin it's a very nice fit for her maybe it's not too far gone?
Shir "It's the multiverse, they'll figure out what's going on sooner or later." Shir's been called crazy before herself, but she doesn't let it get to her. She wonders if it's possible to hotwire the motorcycle and least ride it out of here at least. There's only one way to find out as she hops off the bike and removes her toolset.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn gives a brief, timid smile. "Um... I just want to see if they work on... well, I've never tried to cast them on anyone that isn't, um, organic. It's just shields and that kind of thing." He swaps the pencil back for a pen and jots down a few more notes--making a list of some kind, and pausing between each one. Which spells to cast? But whatever it is, he ends up with 4 on that list.

"What kinda proof?" Quentyn says it as he watches Shir get to work on the bike. "Bet a lot of Machinists would fight a cultist to find stuff like this," he grins. Capital M, as though it's a title.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "It's causing interesting reactions to things to be perfecly honest andf humm? The kinda proof like all Five Five of me before them it be kinda hard to ignore meeting me wouldn't it? If someone tries to take me apart I'm going to shock them."

She gestures to the odd glove she's wearoing.

"Sounds like my world's making quite the impact and you just seen left overs from the third world war."
Shir "Third world war? I'm not that familiar with the first two. Then again I'm not from Earth to begin with. Though if the first two were like this on a global scale, I'm suprised there's that many people still alive here." Shir knowledge of Earth history is limited after all. "Yeah, if someone tries to take you apart just let me know." Kotone seems friendly enough to her after all. She's having a bit of trouble getting the motorcycle started.
Quentyn Westwind     Once more Quentyn struggles to keep up with the conversation. The references to history, some basic societal assumptions--things the boy doesn't have. "Five of..." He looks at the glove, but blankly. Not making whatever connection there is to make.

World wars... Quentyn looks around, though they may be in the garage, but perhaps envisioning the ruins they saw before. "There are lots of wars in this world?" Quentyn deduces, and starts making some more extensive notes in his notebook.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Of the scale of the world wars no, it's used to desinate wars so large a large portion of the planet was dragged into it one way or another. It was really nasty a lot of countries collpased int he aftemrath. We're luckly things played out like they did really it could have ended a lot worse to be honest." R
She shecks over the nike some more pausing

"Humm this frame at the very least is salvable from the looks of it."

She riss up from it for the moment.

"Shir anything even recoverable here has been sitting for at least a decade it's going to need maitance, repairs and the like also possible their engines swapped out for something street legal givne compustion engines are not ... so common anymore."
Shir "Well, it was a worth a shot. I'm pretty sure it would cost more to fix most of these vehicles then it would be to buy a new one. Especially, if the parts are outdated." Not like money's an issue for Shir but she's not sure how much Kotone wants to spend. "I don't think Motavia's had any wars on a global scale but history's kind of spotty."
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn chews on the end of this pencil for a moment again. More writing. He finds an old car and sits himself down on the hood to do so. "I guess you can't summon your cars and bikes? If you have places like this to keep them..."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa peers at Quentyn for a moment.

"No, we do not no magic and honestly I perfer to have something that can persist on it's own. That's just met and humm we'll have to haul them out and I can fix them up. Hey fixing and designing custom builds is how I make a living techinally."
Shir "Yeah, I can't summon vehicles and I think it would be kind of large to teleport." That's likely beyond Shir's capabilities. "Plus, there's places where magic and other powers don't work right. It wouldn't hurt to have some other means of getting around. You think you can fix this up? I'll pay you of course." If Shir's going to actually spend money she rather it go to someone who needs it.
Quentyn Westwind     "Um, but it's magitek, not magic..." That they're not using some different form of magitek doesn't seem to have quite sunk in yet. Meanwhile, he just lets his legs dangle over the edge of the hood and--from the motions his hand makes--making more sketches to go with the notes in his notebook.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "We're not using magitech, or magic or anything like that. I keep telling you no magic, no mana no /nothing/ like that. Seriously we don't have any magic I'm not lying now Shir let me see your bike if it's salvagable I could fix it up for a modest price." She looks the bike over and humm it seems it's salvable too. "Looks like we scored fairly well so far."
Shir "Well, I can teleport. But that's not magic. But the motorcycle's kind of large to do so and even if I did, it doesn't run right now." It looks like they're going to have to get out of there the old-fashioned way. "Are you going try and get as many vehicles as you can out of here, Kotone?" Shir figures they can always be sold for scrap metal if nothing else.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn cringes back at the rebuke and at the end, gives a quick, humbled nod. Once he's done with his notebook he just watches the other two work and figure out what they're going to do with the vehicles... apparently the student's not much of a mechanic or car person himself.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "I could move them with effort with the three of us we could get them out our selves, the tires haven't decayed entirely so we should be good for a bit. I'm looking for just things I could restore I don't intend to be greedy, you know? That's how you get killed I find, and I tempted fate enough as of late. I'm not menaing to come off harsh I'm just aying there is no magic in this world unlike your own. Look while information from the multivese is getting around I don't want you to wander...you know what I'd be happy to give you more of a tour of this world later."
Shir "Do many people actually come here?" Shir's not seeing what Kotone's so worried about. She figures she can handle any trouble they run into. The fact there's still vehicles means it's pretty unlikely anyone was going to interfere with what they're doing. Then again it might take them a bit to drag the motorcycles out of here. "Yeah, not everywhere has magic." She figures Quentyn's going to be in for a surprise when he vists some more places.
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn perks at the offer of a tour. "Yah, that'd be great," he grins. And he looks over at the cars, leaning forward to rest his chin on his hands, and his elbows on his knees. "Um... I can try to help you push those but I'm not very strong..."He gives a short, apologetic smile--and even for a teen, his frame does look pretty slight. And Quentyn gives a quick nod to Shir, maybe finally getting the message about magic!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes there's reclimation crews slowly reclaiming things and there are ... refugees from mainlaned Asia and not all of them are friendly." They might have reson to be hostile given how the japanese government's been to them. Some of the people don't even have nations to return to anymore. "Hey all the help I can get and I'm stronger than I look seriously."
Shir "Yeah, but I doubt they're going to be out on a cold night like this." Shir's known much more for her speed than her physical strength but she's managing to drag her motorcycle along. "I'm sure having cybernetic parts has it's advantages but it's not really my sort of thing."
Quentyn Westwind     Quentyn nods, listening to the talk of war politics, and then he slides off the hood and back to his feet. "Ok, um..." He looks around. What to move? Well, Shir's pushing her bike, so the boy goes over to help. Sadly, just like his stature hints at, he's not really that big of a help, but better than nothing?
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "If they are full prosehtic they won't care about the cold that much." She notes and looks at them as she moves to get the firswt biek and start slowly wheeling it to the stairs as she goes she seems to be in much better spirits then when they first met.
Shir "Thanks." Shir smiles at Quentyn as he helps her. The extra help doesn't hurt, and it sounds like the sooner they get out of here the better. "Yeah, but how many people can afford something like that?" She's sure there can't be that many.
Quentyn Westwind     "Full prosthetic?" Quentyn asks quizzically. But that aside, he simply listens to the other two-- absorbing what information he can.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "The poltically correct term for someone whose a full converion cyborg, like my self." She's noe moving to star pushing the bike up and taking the majority of the load, hopefully the otehrs can work with the rest. "...A decent body costs about as much as a Car these days."
Shir "I take it you mean a good car and not a beater." Shir's a bit curious about that, as they get the bikes up the stairs. Of course car prices can vary a lot so she's not quite sure how much Kotone's referring to.
Quentyn Westwind     "Um... you can just, buy that?" Quentyn asks weakly. He stops pushing the bike long enough to get his notebook back out and take down a few more notes.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes, it's ... become disturbingly casual these days I admit. As I said I'm not hugly keen on it but it beats being dead or worse." She notes as they move the bike up slowly as they go. The point she made however it's something possible to do ans she thinks for a moment. "ABout three quarters of Japan, this nation have at least their brains cyberized if that tells you how prevalent the tech is."
Shir "You can buy most things if you have enough money." Shir's not quite sure why Quentyn's surprised by this. "Three quarters of Japan?!" She's not quite sure how many people there are in the country, but she figures it's at least in the millions.
Quentyn Westwind     "They take out their normal -BRAIN- and..." Quentyn fish-mouthes a few times, but just leaves the topic alone. Then he pulls out a phone to check the time and pockets it again. Looking to the other two, "Um... Yah, I gotta get back and get my homework ready for tomorrow. Nice meeting you two!" He holds up a hand in a wave, then turns and sort of half-runs half-jogs for the warpgate.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks at him for a moment "No that's just silly the brain is agumented, not repalced like that. Geeze ... then again the way I put it waz pretyt bad, take care." She notes there' shouldn't be much more work to get the bikes to her truck and back to the shop.
Shir Shir's relieved when they finally reach the truck, it was rather cold out after all. "I guess I'll go find somewhere to warm up myself. See you around Kotone, I'm sure we'll run into each other again sometime." She had a pretty good night, she met some new people and got a new bike for her trouble.
