Neva Fernandez     Deep in the heart of the Izzet Quaters, a duel of wits is coming to its climax, and it has gathered a crowd of dozen or so of the denizens having decided that this might be something interesting to witness. On one side of a table, Neva Fernandez is glaring down at her opponent, taking a moment to glance down, and then glance back up. On the other side of the table is a Blistercoil Weird. Specifically Bob, Neva's summoned Weird. It maintains a poker face to be desired as it looks down to the table and then back up.

The duo are playing a head to head game of Magic, and Neva's eyes twitch a bit, at the three cards in her hand, before she sucks in a breath, and reaches to turn her land cards, "Alright... This is what's going to happen... Tap four mana to summon my Fanatic of Mogis... Any response?"

Bob stares for a moment at the card being put into play, before nodding its head, and then tapping three manas to put a Cancel into play.

Neva grins, "HAHA! Gotcha!" She taps two reds and throws down another card, "Two to Reberberate your Cancel, thereby canceling itself! The Fanatic's battlefield entry effect procs and burns down your creatures... BUT..." She taps three more mana, "AHAHAHA! SOUL'S FIRE!!!" She drops it into play and puts it over the fanatic, "I deal the Fanatic of Mogi's power to you in double damage because CURSE OF BLOOD LETTING IS PROCED!!" She grins and folds her arms, "Any repsonses?"

The Weird pauses, looking up, then looking down... Then back up... And then just stands and tosses the cards onto the table, walking off, leaving Neva throwing her arms out, "HA! BEAT YOU AGAIN, BOB!"
Rhapsody     For most of the day, Rhapsody had been marching all over the twin spires, Nivix and Thirix, lead by a number of magewrights, Thianel, and probably Sidonia somewhere. Always the bodyguard that isn't seen, was Sidonia. It's as the Guildmaster is being led from the central elevator of Nivix toward its entrance that the comotion in the Foyer catches her attention. Her pace starts to slow, a number of personel continue to walk on, passing her, before she ducks to one side of the door, allowing everyone to pass.

Breath.     Breath.     Breath.

No one comes back. No one yells for the Guildmaster. They didn't notice she ducked them! Oh this is a golden moment. She quietly reaches to one side, quietly clicks off her radio, pulls up her hood, taps her coat to turn it a dull grey color, and then she slowly makes her way to the table to watch the end of the match. This is the game the Deckmasters play? ... Interesting..
Neva Fernandez     Neva continues to laugh a bit, grinning from ear to ear as she tells Bob, "Oh come on! Don't be so sore about it! You know how the combo works! And I really didn't want you countering Soul's Fire, so I had to bait the counter-spell." She sighs and stands up to gather the cards up into their respective decks.

She then looks about and grins, "Alright folks! Show's over unless you wanna try the game for yourself. You saw it, it's pretty straight foreward once you get the hang of it..."

She then grumbles, "I'll never wrap my brain around First Strike though."
Rhapsody First strike is easy! Then again, Rhapsody has never played the game, so, she wouldn't be able to explain that basically it's like there are two attack phases. One where first strikers deal damage, and then everyone else. "It's a very interesting game," Rhapsody murmurs once she's close enough for Neva to hear, but quiet enough that no one else does. "This is the game all of the deckmasters play, right..?"
Neva Fernandez     The Izzet Deckmaster then begins to babble, "I mean... Normal combat phase has both parties dealing damage to each other at the same time..." She picks up two cards, a red minotaur and a blue merfolk. "These two just run right into each other..." She swings the cards at each other, "And they just deal damage as normal... But things get fuzzy with first strike, because when First striker is attacking, he his first and if he gets a kill, gets hit never. When the DEFENDER has first strike, it becomes the Defender's priority to damage, and if he just happens to get the kill, it's gg for the attacker who might as well not have attacked! Then you've got TWO first strikers going at each other! What happens there! And let's not even get started on DOUBLE STRIKE and the interaction with Poison!"

Oh, someone was speaking to her now. Neva blinks absent mindedly, and says, "Oh, yeah, it's pretty awesome. Magic the Gathering, by Wizards of the coast... complex when you start, especially when you're a kid and not really thinking about the mechanics, but when you realize it, it's like 'Woah'..." SHe then pauses...
"Wait, you're..." She just now look pays attention Rhapsody's face.
Rhapsody A finger is held up to her muzzle quickly, "Don't say it, I've had a LONG day," the guildmaster whispers, glancing one way and the other. "I enjoyed watching what little of the game I had a chance to see, however, living in the world that those cards are based on, I'm somewhat familiar, but not, all at the same time." There's a call for her name in the distance, suddenly, and the dragon winces, "C'mon!" And then Rhapsody is darting away from the entrance. . . . there must be another exit!
Neva Fernandez     Neva blinks a little as Rhapsody is in a panic to get out of the place, biting her lip a bit before looking to her Blistercoil weird, "Bob! Block the door, and stall them!" With that, the deckmaster packs her decks up, and mumbles, "I really need some sort of portable table..." With that, she grabs for Rhapsody and tells her, "Come on, let's go!" With that, she makes a sprint.
Rhapsody     Bob would find the other weirds moving to help him. Why? Why not. Its another weird, that was moving under orders. So. They go to help, which leaves a bunch of magewrights REALLY confused when the Blistercoil and two steamcore weirds don't move on order.

Rhapsody's dash toward the back of the Spire leads them both to a window which, at first look, appears barred and unable to be passed. A flick of a hand, a key in it, a latch undone, and Rhapsody throws the whole thing up and out, "You first." A bright smile. It's almost as if the Guildmaster has done this before.

        She has.
Neva Fernandez     The Deckmaster takes a moment to stick her head out the window, peek about to see if the coast was clear, before proceeding to vault out and landing herself on the ground, "Ack!" She lets out with a tumble, before getting herself back to her feet and shaking her head, "Coast is clear, come on!"
Rhapsody A moment later the Guildmaster vauls the window, pushes the window back down, there's the sound of something latching, and then Rhapsody just laughs as she just walks away from Nivix. "No one knows about that exit, not even my sister. We're good," she says, clearly in a good mood as she goes. "It was Neva, right?"
Neva Fernandez     Neva nods and grins, "Yep! Neva Fernandez! Didn't really get to talk to you he other day, it was kind of a rush about..." She strolls along beside Rhapsody and says, "So who were those guys you were getting away from? Someone sounded really annoyed at you bailing out on them." She tilts her head, "Not that it's a big deal that I'm helping you duck out. You have no idea how many times I ducked out of the house to the comic book store to get away from home." There's a pause as she glances away from Rhapsody, "I kind of lost count..."
Rhapsody "The one yelling was Thianel. He's like this advisor to me and my siblings while we're getting used to running the place," Rhapsody explains as they walk along. "I just.. ALL DAY I've been getting pulled from one thing to the other when he said it would only take a couple hours. I was -done-. Just... done. Enough. I needed a break..." she muses, heaves a sigh, but then she shrugs it off. "They'll be scouring the spire for me and i'm outside. It never fails."
Neva Fernandez     "All it takes is someone figuring it out. They can't be that dumb." Neva tilts her head up to look over over a the tower once more, and scratches the back of her head, "Though I could be wrong." She shrugs a bit, before looking back to Rhapsody and saying, "Listen, since you're trying to get away for the moment, we can... You know... Hang out if you want?"
Rhapsody A quick nod, "Of course! I'm just kinda... walking. If you wanted to head down to Tin Street or do something else that's fine. I'm not sure how familiar with the city you are, though."
Neva Fernandez     "I haven't really been down to Tin Street, though I'm familair enough with the cards." She rolls her eyes, "I've got a couple of Tin Street Hooligans and Markets in my box... I hardly use the Hooligan though, since that needs Green to activate its ability, and I've never been quite so discard happy for Tin Street Market, though I guess I've had some pretty bad draws---And I'm babbling about the gamee..."
Rhapsody At least Rhapsody gives a laugh, "It's alright, for a long time those cards were the only way you got to know Ravnica. Just remember you're in the Izzet Sector, but it's not all forges and labs, Neva," Rhapsody reminds. "There are a lot of other things that can be seen, it is all a matter of exploring and seeing what you can find."
Neva Fernandez     Neva grins, "Well, while that's not untrue, I'm pretty sure that's the most fun part of it..." She looks about and keeps strolling. "Who knows where I'd end up if I just kept exploring though... Which I guess is part of the fun... I've been in Ravnica for a week now, and I've still only been in the Izzet Quarter. I've been meaning to check out Gruul and Simic areas too... But Izzet's my priority, you know."
Rhapsody That gets a nervous laugh from Rhapsody, "Careful with the Gruul. Their territory is anything but. They're really violent and don't really care for trespassers. So... if you head that direction, Neva? Be really careful. Simic, however, are close allies. Selesnya, Boros, also decent allies. I'd consider visits to any of those guilds alright. Azor too but.. well.. boring. You know. Azor." Emphasis on, "BORING. Guh, the paperwork. so much paperwork!"
