Scene #11: Shop Talk

Kotone Yamakawa	So Dr. Lighht had bought a smart car from Kotone's Japan, it needed a few alterations for someone without a cyberain and Kotone had been hired to do such and install the needed hardware which was not too much trouble. She'd been in the garage most of the morning and into the afternoon working, there' been a good deal of noise, just what was she up to in there, aside from working on the car.
Roll	All this time, the smell of BAKING EFFORTS has been wafting from the house through an open window, until just recently, until now. The garage door - from the house, not outside - creaks open, and hey, in strolls Roll! "Kotoneeeeeeee!!" Roll no longer has any problem pronouncing the Japanese name playfully, apparently! And the red-dressed Robot Master's carrying a tray full of goodies on it. There's chocolate chip cookies, a small salad, and several choices of beverages! "still hard at work?"
Kotone Yamakawa	Roll would find a strange site to put it midly, she's hunched over a terminal at the momenrt while she's got a head sisplay of som sort oon and a number of cables plugged into the back of her neck, Into various parts of the car and other hardware she's using even while she works she halts for a moment as she hears Roll. "Give me a moment to disconnet, Roll."
Roll	BOGGLE. Roll looks over a SECOND time at the scene before her after setting the tray down and immediately her hand's up against her chin as though worried. But that turns to curiosity in no time at all. "Okay!" Is what she says, but she bounds over for a closer look nonetheless. "... Are you actually wired into the whole car?!"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa takes a moment to halt what she's doing ans starts logging out she takes a moment to move about and start pulling the cables not from her neck but from the ports she was using and lets the lines snack back into her body. "Yes, I was." She takes a moment to take a deep breach as she lets her mind slow down from all the input. "From what information I seen, my brain's now wired to be able to crunch information at the rate you can. Wait ooo you have food!" She looks and she's going to clean up now, then go for some of it.
Roll	Roll finds herself giggling merrily at this show of zeal. her hands slip behind her back and she leans forward on one hand slightly, head tilted a bit. "Just for you! ... and y'know something? I thought all that bothered you... but you're sure taking to it. Can you really run programs in your head?" For a Robot Master, being able to do this is not exactly hard - it's humans, who canot, that it's hard to imagine, but still...
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "It does bother me, I don't like it but I need to work. I don't have ran alternative working with a smart car. I'm going toneed to jack into it to get all this OS and hardwarechanges done. Then again you need to understand with my level of cyberbrain a portion of my brain's actually mechanically my mind's running on par to fmy real brain and the hardware within. I ... don't like to focuys on it all right and yes we can. I could be talking to you and surfing the net at the same time, honestly. That opens up other troubles it means someone can mess with my head about much like yours can, it's why civilian barriers are just as good as basic military ones barring them not having leathal counter measures."
Roll	Recoiling a little at her social blunder, Rolll frowns. "... Sorry, you looked pretty into it, I thought..." Mixed feelings are not Roll's thing most of the time. It rarely is, where kids are concerned! "If you're worried about tampering, you should ask Dr. Light for some help! Dr. Wily was so proud of hacking all my brothers, but it's not so easy anymore." And that is a relief. "... Do people really DO that to each other?!"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Wily likely could be one of those rare non cyberained hackers who could make a mess of someone's cyberbrain. Least it keeps some people humble that people like that exists." she looks at Roll before she goes into food. "I don't think barrier mazes are something he'd have experiance with."
Roll	"Barrier... mazes?" Roll blinks a few times, though her curiosity's definitely piqued. "Who knows? My dad's into lots of things! Either way, I'm sure he'd be glad to help if you need it!"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "It's a form of protection, either way now this food isn't bad thank you. It must seem odd to you I'm so bent out of shape about getting upgrades isn't it? Or am I off the mark here?"
Roll	Roll pauses there right as she's about to speak. "Uhh... a little! To be honest... I think all the upgrades are cool. Dr. Light's always talking about making a world where robots and humans live side-by-side. Don't think you're what he had in mind but I like it." Her statement's delivered with all possible sincerity. "... But I guess, if I woke up one day and my arm was all fleshy... I'd feel bad about it too."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa Says "So you think in some ways I'm like a bridge between human and machine?" She sits down cross leggredna nd enjoy the food. "Were we are worried about our technology consuming us on the other hand. What if you woke up and were entirely made of flesh
Roll	"Uh-huh! And it's cool." Roll replies matter-of-factly. She'l brook no argument, in her mind at least! But the question makes her frown. ".... Uhhh... I don't know. Probably try some human things! But if I couldn't turn back... not much would change here at home, but I couldn't help anyone out very well in a pinch like that!"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa Says "Fair enough, I had a choice of possibley die or be a lump of crippled flesh in a bed the rest of my life. I don't like it but it's better than being like that. I admit I have experimented with somethings, still I'm not sure about this. I have to live with it, but ...."
Roll	"Experimented?" Now there goes that curiosity again? But she's a kid, who can blame her? "Eat up, Kotone. You sure worry about this a lot... isn't there ANYTHING I can do to make you feel better about what happened...?"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes, and best to not say more Roll. Please look when your body's alien you need ti figure out how it works." She does not want to move furhter on that. She goes back to eating for a moment. "You have, you been my friend...Roll that's all I can ask and procing that not everything will end up being a the classic evil insane AI."
Roll	Roll... sprouts a smile. "I try!" The Robot Master quips, clapping her hands together. "And those movies are SILLY." Again with the emphasis on that! "So.... any luck with that debt you mentioned? We hauled off all that hardware, after all!"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa Says "AI's like that do exist in the multiverse I do my homework on that sort of thing. It's pretty much handled at this point thankfully, still working for them thought It's amusing I did kinda get a ... show model body that's a walking ad for them. Clever ... I must admit."
Roll	"So I'm hearing... I feel kind of bad for them, but what can I do?" Roll shrugs slightly, looking away while pursing her lips up in a troubled look. She brightens at the latter comment though, giggling. "Guess they can be nice and smart at once!"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "People are people I guess." She says while going for another cookie and she tilts her head at Roll for a moment with an odd look on her face. "It's just strange to think my body now will outlast my brain. I could live to be nearly 200 and still look like this all the way through."
Roll	"So will I.. in theory." Roll states after a moment of hesitation. This is something she hasn't really been thinking about... and why would she, really? "... You keep thinking about weird things."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Hi I'm a monkey with an over clocked brain now. Ofcouse I think about strange things. I have the time to do so more so than before. You should know how much the human mind can wander, right?"
