Owner Pose
Shoko Ozora     The Parliamentary Battleship Nagata rests at its typical cruising altitude in the evening sky. Hovering thousands of feet above the air, the massive ship that houses the entire government of New Japan stands mostly idle. For once, the battlestations are not manned and all is peaceful onboard the vessel.

And there is nowhere more peaceful than the private garden which is home to the shrine that Shoko Ozora offers her prayers at and where her quarters are located. Dressed in the half-military and half-school like uniform of her office, the young president sits on the edge of the wooden platform that leads up to her personal quarters. From here she has a great view of not only her father's shrine, but of Nagata's primary garden itself.

Shoko displays a weary smile as she takes a moment to enjoy the peace and quiet that she has been blessed with as of late. These quiet times seem to be getting fewer and farther between as the war between New Japan and the Dominion continues to heat up. One day there will be true peace for New Japan. But until then, it is wise to take advantage of this calm before the storm.
Grumble The peace and quiet is sadly interrupted by a sudden sharp series of barks, followed immediately after by a rustle of bushes before a small brown fuzzy tailed squirrel scampers out at breakneck speed towards the nearest tree. Hot on its heels is a fawn colored pug.

This would event would already be unusual in of itself. After all how many pugs are there on the airship? But what makes it extremely bizarre, is the fact that between every few barks the dog clearly excitedly yells the word "SQUIRREL!!" To compound the strangeness even more, is the fact that instead of being thwarted by the squirrel running up into the branches of the tree. The odd dog simply leaps up and flies up after the poor rodent, hovering around the branches barking excitedly until the creature makes its escape by retreating into a trunk hollow.
Shoko Ozora     Shoko Ozora picks her head up at the sound of barking nearby. Animals and pets are not forbidden on the Nagata, but they are a fairly rare thing. Grey eyes first focus on a blur of brown that is followed by a large and lighter colored blur. She follows the two blurry shapes as they both head straight for a nearby tree, but it is then that she realizes that this pug's -bark- was very peculiar indeed.

The young teenager gently rocks back and then forward up onto her feet and stands up so that she can investigate this strange occurence a little closer. It is from on her feet that Shoko witnesses the pug take flight after the squirrel. Okay, -pets- were a rare thing, but there was no such thing as flying, talking pugs onboard the Nagata...until now apparently. This pug was something else entirely.

Giggling softly as she gracefully steps forward, Shoko soon stops a few paces away from the tree in question. She pauses for a moment in order to think about how exactly to address this curious creature, but there was never anything wrong with being polite. "Good evening and welcome to the Parliamentary Battleship Nagata." She addresses in a calm and confident voice. "I must admit that I was not expecting such a curious pair of visitors at this hour."
Grumble Thwarted by squirrel's small size Grumble sniffs and paws at the trunk's hollow before being surprised suddenly by Shoko's greeting. A sudden surprised yip followed a lost of concentration results in a sudden dart forward results in the poor pug head butting the tree in front him. Stunned he manages to arrest his fall enough so that he simply tumbles backwards and floats to ground in an inelegant pile.

Snorting softly as he gets his paws under himself shakily. He mumbles, "Squirrel tricks are devious. But I will not fall for it again!" Then he finally notices Shoko towering over him. Staring up at the long haired human he raises a paw in greeting. "Hello!"
Shoko Ozora     Shoko smiles as she arrives near where the pug fell and drops down to rest on her haunches, apparently unconcerned with getting her uniform dirty. She tilts her head to the side gently as she peers into where the squirrel made its exciting escape into. That must have been one quick witted squirrel to orchestrate such a grandiose escape.

The young silver-haired teenager turns her attention now on Grumble, hopefully now she wasn't quite so towering over him since she was sitting on her knees now. "There are few trees left on my world which means what few tree squirrels are left must be very devious indeed." She inclines her head politely to the pug and smiles at the raised paw. Shoko returns the gesture with a similar one. "My name is Shoko Ozora, and I greet you as a guest on my ship, the Nagata. But please, leave the squirrels be if you ever catch one," implores the young president earnestly.
Grumble Watches the silver haired one kneel down near him and sitting. Settling down in front of her he plants his bottom firmly on the ground and listens. Nodding sagely as he hears her agreement over the deviousness of squirrel kind, until he realizes what she said about very few trees. Tilting his head as she introduces herself, he gets even more confused about her statement that they are on a ship.

Considering his reply he decides that a proper introduction was the most important thing first! "Hello! It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Ozora!" promptly bowing by raising his bottom into the air and touching his muzzle to the ground. "I am Grumble! A pug, of my burrow!" Head still down his tail wags happily. A friend! A new friend he has made! Speaking quickly to reassure her, he answers "I would never harm the devious squirrels miss Ozora! They are squirrels and are for chasing! Not for hurting! It is a rule!"

Taking a look around and realizing he had no idea where this place actually was. Grumble does the logical thing and asks. "Where are we? You said this was a ship? Why would there be so few trees, is it because your people all live on ships?"
Shoko Ozora     The young president properly sits there with her hands folded in her lap as she cannot help but smile ear to ear at this earnest and polite pug. "A pleasure to meet you, Mister Grumble of My Burrow." Shoko intones to the wagging doh whom promptly explains his squirrel policy.

Shoko pauses and then nods with a smile towards Grumble. "A most wise set of rules to follow. Feel free to chase any squirrels you find here in my garden. And if anyone tries to stop you, tell them that President Ozora has cleared you for official New Japan Squirrel chasing duties."

Shoko's smile fades slightly when Grumble asks a very poignant question. "Yes, we are floating above the Pacific Ocean near the largest 'rift' in New Japan." The ship question causes Shoko to shake her head softly, her silver hair swaying as she moves. "Almost all of the land of my world has been submerged under water. And what land is left has had cities built on top of it. But the Dominion has also started replacing cities and trees alike with factories and conduits that seek to drain my world of all of its energy."

The young woman raises a hand and gestures towards the nearby tree. "But one day, those factories will be destroyed and the forests replanted." Shoko Ozora smiles now. "And hopefully one day soon."
Grumble Grumble sits and listens to his new friend. Tail wagging happily as she gives him official permission allowing him to chase the squirrels in the area! Blinking at the word president, he suddenly realized that this female was a human pack leader! "I am honored and will do my best Miss President Ozora!" Yipping happily and bouncing in a circle in his excitement.

But then she explained about the state of her world, and this very bad 'Dominion' doing bad things. Observing his new friend carefully with both his eyes and his nose, Grumble came to a realization. His new friend had the 'sads'. Trotting over and laying a paw upon her knee, he stared her straight in the eyes and proclaimed, "This dominion is very bad Miss President Ozora! If you wish I will teach them a lesson by pooping at their burrow! Then they will learn what they are doing is very bad!" Sure of his conviction, he would do this for his new friend.
Shoko Ozora     Shoko smiles brightly at Grumble's continued polite demeanor. Thankfully, she has already run into quite the assortment of strange creatures which allows her to take a talking, flying pug in stride. But this was an especially cute and polite pug which did win Grumble some brownie points from the young president. She watches Grumble run around in a circle and yip with a small grin on her face.

The simple but very nice gesture causes Shoko to smile a little stronger. There was no need for her to have the 'sads' around such a joyful creature. She nods her head succinctly at Grumble's offer. "A most generous offer, Mister Grumble. But I would fear it might be dangerous for you to do, but I do appreciate the sentiment. They would find...that message to be most striking, I'm sure." The young woman then taps the side of her chin in contemplation. "What brings you to my world, Mister Grumbles? Or are you just a traveller in search of squirrels to chase?"
Grumble It seems that his new friend did not want him to teach them a lesson on her behalf. Most likely because she wanted to handle things herself. Such an admirable trait for a leader!

Hearing her question he took a moment to remember just how he'd gotten here. The squirrel had taken all his focus to chase and it had slipped his mind for a few minutes. Tilting his head he slowly recalls. "Ido not remember exactly how I arrived here Miss President Ozora. I remember I was out exploring in a big city somewhere, when I noticed a toy squirrel in a store window. I realized then that I simply had to find a squirrel to chase immediately! So I closed my eyes and followed my nose. I do believe I may haveteleported a time or 2 without realizing, before I finally sound a squirrel to chase." Sniffing at Shoko's hand he takes a moment to familiarize himself with his new friend's smell. She smelled of something he could only describe as .struggle and freedom as odd as those concepts be described as smells.
Shoko Ozora     Fighting the Dominion was something that Shoko Ozora had to do herself. She owed it to the people whom voted her into her office. Shoko was determined to liberate her country from the Dominion without anymore of her people dying. It was going to be a tough fight, but Shoko was determined to fight it. But things could quickly grow complicated if the Dominion asks the Feds for assistance.

Grumble's explanation onto how he got there causes Shoko to grow silent again in contemplation. Her new pug friend certainly had some very unique powers indeed. "You are able to teleport as well as fly? You are very resourceful, Mister Grumble. I'll give you that. Shoko compliments easily. She then outstretched a single finger upwards. "I can escort you to the closest 'rift' nearby. Should you require some guidance on how to get back. But, naturally, you will be an honored guest as long as care to stay onboard the Nagata. I do believe there are several more squirrels that need chasing around here."
Grumble Grumble sits and licks his nose. A little dirt had gotten on it and it was oh so hard to get clean. Crawling into Shoko's lap and flops across it and pants before replying to her questions, "Yes Miss President Ozora. I can fly and teleport and do other things! Like this!" Without a word Shoko rises about a foot off the ground as if on some invisible platform.

"I will be fine finding my way home Friend Miss President Ozora. Do not worry! Squirrels! There are more!?!" Yipping excitedly from Shoko's lap, he causes the 2 to drift around in lazy slowly circles as they hover over the ground. "I will be happy to stay for a while and teach the squirrels they are not so devious!"
Shoko Ozora     The flopping pug is met with a prompt belly rub from Shoko. He had left himself open afterall. The young teen instinctively kicks her feet out and juts her arms out to her sides when she realizes that she has lifted off the ground. This was incredible! She's never flown before outside of Kamui. It takes a moment for Shoko Ozora to fight these natural instinct and adopt a similar positon to what she had started with. Now a little more used to it, Shoko begins to laugh happily.

"I've never seen anyone with such powers before. This is truly amazing!" Shoko admits with some noticeable excitement entering her voice. The squirrel talk causes Shoko to nod her head once more. "I think we have a few flying squirrels onboard as well." A beat. "Well, they do not fly as you do, Mister Grumble. But I leave that you for you to discover," reports the madame president with a softer giggle. "I will warn you about my cabinet members. They will most likely find you adorable and try to pet you." Shoko goes on to say in a slightly teasing tone.
Grumble Rolling on his back and pawing at Shoko's hands, Grumble is in heaven as he receives the gift of belly rubs. Truly such an amazing pleasure cannot be equaled in all the world. Rolling back and forth he nearly misses what she says next but the hint of a chance of even more people giving him kindly pettings peek his interest enough to draw him out of his stupor. "There are more nice people here? Perhaps I shall stay a bit longer then!" Yawning wide he settles into Shoko's lap and licks her hand. The 2 settling on the ground gentle as a feather. "You are most nice new friend Miss President Ozora. I like you very much." Grumble seems to be nodding off in his new friend's lap.
Shoko Ozora     Shoko Ozora did have a few things to do before she herself could go to sleep this evening. But, there was no harm in delaying these tasks for a little longer. She'll let Grumble sleep there, undisturbed, a little longer before she'll ever so gently move him onto the ground. Meeting a talking, flying, teleporting pug was most unexpected. But Shoko could not be happier with the result as peaceful evenings like this were a rarity these days. And meeting a new friend was even rarer a thing.
