Kirika     The bar's been awfully quiet today, giving Kirika plenty of choices where to have the little discussion. The kitsune's tail swishes in her seat as she sips her tea, her blade left in the doorman's care as per policy. She is here with Toph, and the two have awaited Kilik's arrival long enough to have ordered pizza and drinks. It's only logical for them to at least have lunch, given Toph's hunger, and pizza's a satisfactory dish for the kitsune herself.

Sipping her tea once more, Kirika purses her lips as she thinks of what she knows of the killing of Medusa. All she really remembers is D going towards the witch with a fury never before seen, but otherwise, Kirika herself was occupied dueling that Knight of Mirrah, as well as Kagenashi's conjurations in the midst of the Scandinavian snowstorm.

She trusts Toph's judgement in seeing over this, which gives her thoughts some comfort over seeing a Confederate regarding this.
Toph Beifong     Come along to a place with food? Why not? If she plays her cards right, then maybe she can get Kirika to pay for whatever food and drink she gets... not that she's poor, but it's the principle of the thing. The pizza is good, and Toph is happily eating away on large slice. Her glass of soda is still mostly full, and she seems to be utterly relaxed. Then again, how do you disarm an earthbender anyway? If there's trouble, which Toph is pretty certain there won't be considering Kilik isn't an asshole, she can still use many of the things inside the bar to her liking.

The whole deal about the witch or whatever isn't something she is too concerned about, she's just here for food and as brain /and/ muscle combined.

"You should have ordered it with extra cheese," she asides to the kitsune, "it's not nearly cheesy enough."
Kirikou     Probably best not to seem TOO eager. Besides, Kirikou's a long way away, multiversally-speaking. He's not hungry enough to summon a shortcut to the Bar, so he has to traipse in the long way around.

When he enters the Bar, he gets a bit of a surprise. Kirika IS a fox. Well, a foxy woman. Er, that is, a humanoid fox woman. That she's attractive as well in a delicate and toned-body way, well, that's a bonus. And Kilik IS friends with a few fox girls. He's got absolutely nothing against the archetype.

He doesn't really stare too long. He's not the sort to stare at girls, or even foxy women. Besides, there's Toph too. That's also a surprise. Still, his gaze falls to her almost grateful for the distraction. "Hey, Dirtbender." he says affectionately, using it as light banter to keep things casual. Safest really. "And ... Foxy huh? Guess she wasn't wrong!" he says with a grin, again trying to keep it light. "And you got pizza! Awesome." he adds, grin widening. Behind him the Twins peer out hopefully, wide-eyed.
Kirika     Ignoring Toph, the kitsune opts to take a slice of pizza for herself, and for Kilik when he arrives. Nibbling, she makes a shrug to the Earthbender. Food's food, but Kirika's had a slightly more olbliging palate than some.

Then the guest of the hour arrives, gobsmacked by Kirika's exotic features. The kitsune tries not to sigh as she gently regards Kilik and his companions.

Kirika's been among humans long enough to understand that they tend to have...this sort of reaction around her when they first see her. Back home it's said she's the spitting image of her mother, in many ways no less, but that's neither here nor there. The kitsune raises an eyebrow as she observes Kilik when the boy approaches, before gently pointing her tail to where the boy can sit in the booth.

"Please join us. I am Kirika, of the Union. I am to understand you are...close, in a complicated way it seems." She muses, before sliding Kilik a plate as well. "Toph insisted upon lunch, it would only be rude to not do so for you four." Her eyes note the twins for a moment, curious. Toph had referred to him as 'Gloves' before, but the reasons for the kitsune were lost to her.
Toph Beifong     As Kilik approaches the table Toph can't help but grin mischievously at the meister, raising a hand in greeting. "Don't get any ideas, Gloves. This pizza is /ours/," she only half-jokes. So order your own food! Her grin turns slightly warmer as Fire and Thunder peer out from behind him. "Heya rugrats, had a nice holiday?" The two twins are just kids after all, even if they are demon weapons, and considering they are earth shamans, why would Toph dislike them?

But she arches an eyebrow when Kirika speaks, commenting on people being close. She just spoke with her on the radio to clear up any misunderstandings before they surfaced, but it doesn't seem like this is what the kitsune is talking about.
Kirikou     Kirikou doesn't notice the shipping, mostly because he's actually kind of clueless about such things. He's insightful as hell when it comes to the warrior spirit, which might explain some of his friendship with the earthbender, but could stand to go a few rounds with a clue-by-four when it comes to girls.

"Nothing complicated about it." Kirikou says offhandedly. "She likes beating me up, and I put up with her because the Twins worship dirt." he claims with a smirk. Of course there ARE complications. Why they're on opposing sides and both kind of think the other's in the wrong but never really bring it up... that's a big one. Among those complications though, for Kirikou, none of them are that he's a boy and Toph's a girl. It says good things perhaps that this is one area where he's blinder than Toph, because he just doesn't see how such a thing could matter when it comes to being friends.

He looks down at the pizza. While he wasn't starving, there's ALWAYS room for pizza. He grins. "I should be treating you, I think." he says. Not intending chauvenism or anything like that of course. "You're here because I asked about Miss Medusa, so I owe you right?" he says. He glances at Toph. "She's pretty aggressive that way huh? I guess I'd even agree to treating her. She helped out by asking, and I guess she's here because you don't trust me. No reason you should or anything. I'm a Fed and I worked with Medusa. I should be trying to take revenge and stuff, right?" he says. There's no hostility in his voice, no aggression in his stance. A certain wariness however, a defensive readiness that doesn't go away even though he knows there's no chance of a fight breaking out here. He can't help it, and when all things are said and done he IS a fighter by nature.

After a moment, he reaches down to give a hand to the Twins. "If they can have a piece, that'd be cool." he says. "We can always order more." he adds. Which COULD be seen as him being cautious enough not to eat food offered by the enemy, to anyone who doesn't know how much he cares for Fire and Thunder. For those who know, it's an offer of trust. That he knows there's no harm being offered. He doesn't know Kirika, but he does know Toph. She'd hurt them in battle maybe, but never by treachery.

Fire and Thunder, for their part, look eager and happy. Not a suspicious bone in their bodies. Silent though, even though their too-large mouths gape at the offer of good food.
Kirika     "They may." Kirika agrees, offering up a slice each to Fire and Thunder before she begins to go down to brass tacks. "Medusa was someone you knew, then. A teacher or something along those lines?" She asks, clasping her hands. All she herself knows about Medusa is the witch's reputation, having only met her a grand total of once before that messy night in the snow came to pass.

Really, she herself would be more interested to know more about Kagenashi, but for now this is unrelated to the Nogitsune.

It's clear Kirika has no intention of starting a fight, even in the face of Kilik's defensive tone. Narrowing her eyes, she can't exactly say Kilik isn't trying to play nice here either. Though that's what neutral ground is for, the kitsune supposes.

"I suppose I should explain the details, then. That is why we are here after all." The kitsune spares a moment to nibble pizza, regarding Kilik again. "The other night, there was an incident in your world, the Scandinavian region if I am not mistaken. Myself, the dhampir D, Frederica, and the superhero known as Defiant, all came to respond. THe village Medusa and another were located had already been cleared out, by some magic I am unfamiliar with." She avoids the bloody details, regarding the villagers themselves. Given the presence of the twins, she'd hate to darken this already awkward discussion further.
Toph Beifong     "Not my fault I have won against you every time we have fought in some way or the other," Toph shrugs with a smirk on her lips as well. At least he is fun, even if he's a Fed. When he offers to treat them to pizza Toph arches an eyebrow, then gestures to the menu. "Then order another pizza then so there's enough for all of us, I'm /hungry/!" Heck, she's not going to complain if he pays for the food and drinks. Let him!

As for whether this is dangerous, Toph waves it off. "You're not smart enough to trick us into some vengeful plot of yours anyway, nor are you the type. Especially not here," Toph claims where she sits. She is at ease and not the least worried that anything violent will happen. Why, she even sticks the rest of her pizza slice into her mouth before she picks up a slice of pizza each for the Twins, handing it over. Just because they will want more than the slice they are given from Kirika. "Eat up, kids."

She herself grabs another slice while Kirika and Kilik begin talking.
Kirikou     The Twins waste no time digging into the pizza. Kirikou grins fondly, then gestures to a waiter. Before long he's ordered a large meat-lovers pizza. Is there any other kind really?

That business taken care of, he turns back to Kirika and Toph. His initial reaction to Kirika seems to have faded, and he's able to deal with her now as a person rather than as a 'foxy' lady. He pays attention to the exterior, sure, but that's another of his good points. Before long, he always pays more attention to what's inside.

"Miss Medusa was a nurse at Death Academy when we first came there to train." Kirikou says. "She's probably at least half the reason I joined the Feds in the first place." he adds, not without some well-hidden irony. That's something he guessed at, based on the way she'd assigned herself as his nurse before he even realized she was in the Confederacy. He's aware that by leaving out that part of the story he's giving a false impression, but he doesn't care. He's not interested in getting into that, not yet at least.

Putting his hands down on the table, Kirikou frowns. "Don't get me wrong though. I'm not looking for revenge. If I'm ordered into the field over this against someone, I'll do it. But I won't do it out of revenge. I'm just trying to find out the details. What really happened, everything. For my own reasons, not for the Confederacy." he says with feeling. "Er..." he pauses, looking down. "Maybe when the Twins go off to play. Fire? Thunder? When you're fed, wanna go play some video games?" he asks. Some stuff, he doesn't want to expose them to. They're young and won't necessarily understand. Also, if he ends up saying anything he shouldn't, he wants to be sure they're not at risk because of it.
Kirika     Just as Kilik nudges away the twins, Kirika nods in agreement. "I understand completely. I had no personal stake against Medusa myself, the most i Know about her is from hearsay aside from the night of...well."

An awkward pause ensues as Kirika tries to find the words, before taking a breath. "Anyway. We followed the tracks left by Medusa and what i assume to be a fellow witch and her bear, and when we drew close, we were attacked by the one known as Kagenashi, and a masked swordmaster claiming to be a Knight of Mirrah, someone who said to have owed Medusa a debt. D directly made his way towards Medusa while Defiant, Frederica, and myself kept the others busy during the confrontation. Even as myself and the knight dueled, I could sense what was happening on D's end of things."

Pizzamunch. Kirika is quick to nab a slice of meat lover's, nibbling on that as well before she speaks again. "D...he slew Medusa himself, running her through with his blade. There was a scream, and Medusa's remains seemed to disappear, leaving behind only blood. The other witch withdrew, going to places I know not. Even her name is unknown at this time, for all I know."
Toph Beifong     For now Toph is far more concerned with the kids and grinning at them as they begin devouring their pizza slices. When Kilik orders another large pizza she nods in satisfaction, appeased that there will be more meaty goodness coming on.

Blah blah talk about dead witches blah blah. It's clear from Toph's expression that she doesn't really care much for the subject, she never even fought this Fed nor talked with her.

"Revenge never really gets you anywhere either," she offers instead with a shrug as she leans back in her seat, crossing one leg over the other. No, she can sense no lies in what Kilik is saying. Though she does look a bit curious when the Twins are asked to go off and play, and she shoos them off. "Go play those things over there, they're fun and free. We can have sundaes later if you're good," she promises them. Of course she intends to have Kilik pay for everything, but what does it matter?

No, the kids shouldn't have to listen to this anyway, it doesn't sound pleasant.
Kirikou     Kilik has a personal stake against Medusa. Several, in fact. She betrayed Shibusen. She released menaces upon his world. She forced his friend into hiding. She betrayed him and his own so many times he's almost lost count... but that's not directly relevant. He listens to the story, interested and attentive. He only interrupts once. "I don't know of any bear witches." he says, then shrugs. It's of no great account. If she's a destructive witch, she'll be dealt with by Shibusen. Her name doesn't really matter, does it?

He doesn't even eat the pizza, so intent is he. Not, that is, until Kirika mentions how Medusa died. Then he abruptly picks up a piece, fiddling with it absently, and then eating it when Kirika finishes. It gives him time to consider the truth. To think. The information's not a surprise to him. He'd suspected all along that it was ... too neat. Too easy.

"She did pretty terrible things to D." Kilik finally says, after thoughtfully eating. In truth he was rather glad the vampire hunter had been freed. Not because he wishes the Union well, but because no one deserved to be the toy of Medusa like that, not even an enemy. "Just blood, huh? Well, witches die messy." he says, shrugging again. He's seen similar. There's something missing from the story, but he'd expected it to be missing. "Nothing but blood. I can believe it." he adds, clenching his jaw. It's an angry tell, but he tries to cover it. "Whatever else happened, got to thank you guys for stopping their plan on that mountain. Medusa had a habit of... experimenting in my home. And I couldn't do a thing about it... not unless she broke the laws of the Confederacy."
Kirika     "So I have heard. I cannot say this was unexpected of D, sudden as this all is." Kirika makes a face as Kilik mentions laws stopping him from taking the witch out himself. "Curious. I would have thought the Confederacy would have made some sort order to prevent infighting within its ranks." She muses, frowning for a moment. That said, it's irrelevant for now. Medusa's dead, and Kilik's thankful.

"At the least, I am thankful to have brought you peace of mind, Kilik." She says, nodding firmly. She herself is slightly dubious as to Medusa's final fate, but for now grasping at straws is a poor move when other things are of a higher priority.
Toph Beifong     "If she got killed by D, she probably deserved it," Toph sighs. D is a serious guy, she knows. Heck, he barely even smiles. Still, the earthbender looks pensive as she listens, easily picking up the tension in Kilik as they discuss the grim topic... what is eating at him anyway?
Kirikou     Of course the Confederacy has laws preventing Kirikou from infighting with Medusa. That's why he could never stop her... so long as she announced her intent at least. He'd managed to get in her way a few times when she was being secretive however, before he knew it was her.

Kirikou doesn't really look like he's received peace of mind, but he nods and smiles in a way that's a bit strained but not quite a grimace. "You told me what I wanted to know, yeah." he says. "Not what would make me happy, but I guess it's what I needed to hear." he says. He doesn't sound happy. There's some wrath buried deep in his heart, but it's not directed at anyone present. "You can tell D..." he pauses, thinks. What can he say that he'd risk getting back to an ally? Something that he can live with? "... Tell him I understand." he finally says. "Miss Medusa's perhaps the most dangerous person I've ever met, and... " he pauses, his voice trailing off. He doesn't know how to end the sentence, so he simply doesn't.
Kirika     Kirika nods. "I'll be sure to relay the message if I have a chance." She says, before falling silent. The kitsune can tell Kilik's got trouble finishing his sentence, and she reaches out a hand to grasp his. "I understand." She whispers gently.
