Scene #1512: Recuperation and Repair

Rory White	"Several control circuits and servos in the arms, fried. Data ports and defenses omproised and crudely forced open... extensive structural damage to some of the arm's framework..." Rory's brought Kotone aboard one of the (thankfully featuring gravity) passenger booms of the Cognizant Odyssey.. to the medical area, in fact, where she's being looked over. Most likely, laying down on an operating table, but maybe sitting up... For the examination, Rory's been using a strange glove. The fingers extend outwards and continuously divide into smaller and smaller parts like a strange fractal growth. these tiny tendrils are clearly mini cameras and digits able to examine the metal and circuitry in great detail... "Nothing that cannot be repaired with time and parts. I'm not worried about your Morph... but are you... calmed down now...?" She's quite worried, alright!
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa gets the body is not an issue that can be fixed she lays there looking at ROry while she wokes and sh wonders about what happens she doesn't mind Rory's work she looks to her for a moment. "It hunted me It must have been follwing me most of the dya but it wasn't trying to kill me...no it was like it was trying to take me, every last bit of me..." She wnats to find who did this she wants ... to or the fitst time likely /kill/ someone in a personal way for that. "...it was like I was just ... a file nothing more it... used me."
Rory White	That particular wording brings pause to Rory. Only a moment of widened- eyes that quickly passes. She pulls away and the fractcal gloves areassemble, each tiny extended limb folding up again into the normal glove structure. calmly the bluenette seats herself on the table's edge, hands folded in her lap... and frowns. "It was a purely logical machine. A hunter killer. While sophisticated and able to reason and plan... it is no more a full-fldged AGI than a well-trained hunting dog is a person. In a way it is less. The dog still has feelings. It was... not capable of seeing you as anything but a target. And not even because it had any desires of its own." Her words come out gently and sadly, but exactly wht she's sad about isn't so easy to pin down.
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa is not moving she was trying to descibe it when she liunked with Rory there was /something/ there that thing didn't and it scared it it was cold predatory and almost like it was going to carve up her mind like that. "I know but why did that thing's maker want my memories...it's all that's turly mind that can't be replaced and it wnted those..." She notices Rory's sadness and isn't sure where to place it.
Rory White	Turning her head to look at Kotone, Rory just shakes her head. "It's merely a guess, but an educated one. It wanted memories so it could easily gather information about your society, family, allies, anything that might aid their maker's cause. As it is a mostly automated military with a proactive stance towards eliminating competition... but with it being completely destroyed, the danger should be over for now. ... with an incomplete send there is no way to tell..." THAT migght be what she's worried about.
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa lets her friend work and nods "I'm worried my family either side are not augmented as meucha s I am and those that have any is just the standard jacks." She seems conerned but she knows they didn't get the Ghost if they did there'd have been bad shit happening to her mind. "Still they are memories witout the context of my Ghost so that's ... something. You can check to make sure it didn't ... leave anything in my mind?" The thought of being a sleeping timebomb is a scary one to her.
Rory White	"Reading is much faster than writing. Statistically it's unlikely that it would choose to try and plant compulsions into a brain it had only just begun understanding. But you're right... it cannot be ruled out. ...Nor am I qualified enough to check for such things. I can try! But..." She doesn't have much confidence in herself when it comes to Psychosurgery...
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa nods in agreement to Rory but need to be safe she sighs for a moment. "You can take a look right and we can get Staren or someone else to take a look over me for any ticking timebombs. I half wondered if it's real intent was actual capture of me."
Rory White	"Maybe... but if so why begin the interrogation in the field?" Rory questions, putting a hang on Kotone's knee in an attempt to offer some comfort. She also attempts a smile. It looks kind of fake and forced, of course... "We'll uncover it if it's there!"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa smiles back and gets the attemot to confort her evne if it is force she lays there closing her eyes and will let her to get to work. With whatever she needs to do. "I need to hurry up and get things in plce to upgrade, I need better hardware it's a good thing XCOM's got the pull to get me what I need in that respect."
Rory White	"What sort of upgrades do you have in mind?" rory perks with sudden interest, though still bends over to go at the arm again. With just these tools, restoring full functionality won't be easy... but she'll probably be able to restore some of the mobility in each arm!
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "A full out militarty grade body with XCOM's connections I can get a class A grade on invrased jacks add another set upgrade hte fire wall, the ability to swim again. Various optical upgrades...though I'm going to pay out of my own pocket for the body to look more human if that makes any sense. I don't think I'm going to go for any internal weapons but it woudl be easy enough to swap for an arm that had such."
Rory White	"Better than the MEC options! Are you sure about nothing built-in? Even I am considering mods for that situation. Perhaps a laser or a shock palm..." Rory sounds concerned again, and she's looking at Kotone worriedly! "The rest sounds great!"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "We don't have energy weapons to that level back home, and the problem in onvious weapons cause issues legally too back home Still I'll consider getting something maybe a compratment to hide something also my strenght will be a weapon in and of itself."
Rory White	"Those laws are hard for me to understand... but Kotone, if you keep helping XCOM, the Syndicate, the Flotilla, against Zwei's people... this will not be the only time something comes for you. If the laws put you in danger, then you need to e somewhere with less restrictive laws." Rory says this very straightforwardly. "I.... cannot see much success in a half-finished attempt at heroism..."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawasighs at this for a moment "I know look I'm looking into getting a place off of my world all right but that's going to take time, I also have to deal with insurance claims." She sighs a little bit and she thinks. "Also there's another thing the sense of touch on the modles I'm eyeing are beyond human normas and I'm not sure about that dirutping it I also have overclock if I need internal weapons too."
Rory White	Rory nods slowly. But also asks, "Overclock? What do you mean for this context? Mental speed?"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Oh Overlock is my Abstractum he can alter my systems for short period I had everything form that taser hand to a shotgun in my arm but I'll consider having something a hidden blade might work pretty well now that IT hink about it. IF you have system suggestions I'll happy take them. Also umm I need a place to stay my home's under going repairs." Yes she did it all online.
Rory White	"You're welcome to stay here!" Rory announces as if this was a matter of course. "It's a bit large for just two people... but you shouldn't have any trouble here?"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa Says "That's fine with me thanks, though we'llneed to get cyborg food for me fairly soon. Ugg there are self maintiance bodies but those are spec ops and UN forces only from what I know that take a lot longer to get, you know?"
