Thranduil      The pair are fortunate they are near the 'alive' section of the forest where the sun bathes the ground and the river feeds the wildflowers and plants. The steps of a large Elk approaching as the Elvenking makes is arrival from over he hill. "What is his I find? Two outsiders bathing in the sun. To what do I owe he pleasure?"
Kari Wolf     Mirkwood is truly a vast place. And very pretty too. Well, most of Middle-Earth is beautiful, truth be known. Today, Kari and her master are enjoying an outing near the forest's edge, near where the river leads out of it. The little shinki is getting things out of a picnic basket for Zarenna, who is to be taking pictures of the scenery with a camera. The small compact hovercar is sitting nearby, explaining how the pair got so far from the local warp gates.
"Is the vacation a nice change, Master?" Kari asks as she shuffles awkwardly on the picnic blanket with a bottle of ranch.
"Certainly is! I guess Santa thought it was selfless of you to ask for a present for somebody else." says the purple-haired human.

Kari Wolf     Kari waves cheerily at the large elk, not really seeing the rider from her own vantage point. Zarenna turns, with her camera in front of her face, and snaps a picture of the elk and its rider. "Wow! That's a really magnificent animal! Oh, uh... We're here because it's beautiful and my vacation request finally got approved. I'm Zarenna Keras." she says, introducing herself. She gestures to the small robot. "She is Kari, my shinki, er... my robot friend." she hastily adds as an explanation.
Kari peers, trying to figure out who her Master is talking to. She figures that Zarenna must be talking to somebody. She waves in the direction of the elk, thinking the elk is talking... "Hi! Nice to meet you!"
Thranduil      Thranduil slides from the Elk and adjusts the ornate reins neatly, allowing the animal to go off and graze. "I see. Yes, it is quite beautiful here. We do not receive many strangers on this side of the forest wall. Be wary of Orcs, who tend to come here occasionally to overthrow the kingdom."
Kari Wolf     Kari bounds up to Zarenna and hops up onto the woman's shoulder and sits there. Before Zarenna can speak again, Kari interrupts. "Orcs? Is that short for something? Like Obnoxious Retarded Cretins?"
    Zarenna's face turns red. "Kari!"
Thranduil      Thranduil furrows his prominent brow, scraping the rock with his long ornate staff "I do not believe Orc is an acronym. Well met, Zarenna and Kari. As long as you behave yourself, I have no qualms with you spending time here. But I remind you that tens of thousands of Elves reside within his kingdom, ready to fight for it."
Kari Wolf     Zarenna and Kari both oh.
Zarenna says "Well, we're here to enjoy the magnificent view, sir. We're not planning on causing trouble unless those orcs show up."
Kari pipes up. "And then I can shoot them! ... Or maul them!"
Thranduil      Thranduil is outside the heavy doors of his kingdom, along with a group of Silvan Elves. It appears they are having some sort of party under the stars. But, further away from the kingdom, the creepy crawlies have come out to play, skittering in the trees, slithering through the ground clutter, fluttering overhead. There is no shortage of terrible critters in Mirkwood, which is why the Sindaran Elvenking remains close to his gates.
