Kotone Yamakawa Welcome to New Port Japan, an artificial island which has grown into a city, which became a central hub for many things after Old Tokyo was levelled in the third world war. It's a bustling modern city that is one of Japans more ethnically mixed cities outside of the former Russian islands it now controls. At one far end of the island is a bridge that leads to Megatech. The company has built a second smaller island to house much of it's own facilities there including it's show room. Kotone had given directions heck even a small printed up map, as she knows most of the people coming are not wired up like she is, right?

Well Kotone's been waiting in the lobby for her friends to come and she's there reading a news paper of all things but if one got a close look most of it's covered in strange bar codes but she has no seeming problems in reading the information.

She gets up and looks nervous from her body language it's pretty clear really.

"Shall we head in then?"

The building inside as high tech inside as it is outside, brightly lit and might look like something out of an older earth's scifi movie.
Staren     Staren /is/ wired up, at least in his head, so getting here is no problem. To make himself stick out slightly less, he's using Iianor's disguise spell to make himself look human, and his labcoat has been swapped out for a blue jacket. Kotone gets a nod of greeting, but not an especially enthusiastic one. As she said before... they're neutral. But he does like helping people, so here he is.

He quirks an eyebrow when he realizes what she was doing. "They still have /paper/ newspapers?" Beat. "...Ones that you can't read without headware /anyway/? What's the point?"

As they head in, he comments: "Is this kind of building common around here? Just adding another little island whenever you need another building?"
Rory White     This place is more Rory's style. It's wireless'd up and has content to scroll through. She's looking much like jumpy today whilst strolling along with Kotone.

Her answer to Staren is quick. "Probably full of links to specific articles... or uses compression? It's a neat idea but I'd just use an AR display! Anyways, Kotone, Kotone!"

While Kotone might be nervous, Rory's kind of excited, "What did you have in mind?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Able to pack a lot more data into it really and it's a lot more secure to be honest than just jacking into something. Hey they adapted there was a market for. You got it one Rory. As for that people still like certain things the way they are. I should give them credit for adapting unlike TV has."

She grins for a moment.

"Given our backer's pockets I'm going for a class A combat frame it's going to take a while to adapt to how far I can push myself but it's going to be light years ahead at least in terms of endurance. There's howevera lot of features to go over. Also I think I'm going to ahem, get the apperance more polished the A class is also one of the best human mimics on the market."

She say as she heads for the show room doors which swish open.

A woman who likelus augment but is looking like someone who stepped out of a hollywood movie set smiles at the trio.

"Hello and welcome! I presume your Miss Yamakawa?"

Kotone had called ahead to set this up, as the company doesn't alway deal in just off the shelf parts to to speak.
Staren     Staren blinks at the newspaper. "But if they're just links, you still have to read them online... or does it project AR of the article onto the paper?" He seems to have guessed wrong about how this works.

"I'm still surprised they're not just giving you MEC stuff."
Rory White     "Human mimicry is an art! One of the best among the Argonauts designed my appearance... I wonder what they do around here?"

She ends up smiling at the woman though. "Hello! And I'm Rory White. Kotone's my friend!" A glance is sent at Staren... she's still not sure what kind of term to use for their relation. Or what Kotone will use!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks to STaren for a moment "They use it to fit more information in the paper. No one ever accused humanity of being that efficent."

Kotone bows slightly and exchanges a few proper bits. She's lived in Japan long enought, and has also had relative drum certain things into her. She doens't answer about the mech suit but it's because in time she'll be comprable to one in a human sized package.

The woman smiles to the group and nods.

"Weclome are you here to shop a well and yes it's art form."

She seems honestly proud of it and she grins a little bit.

"I'm very pleased with my own body's quality. Now come your contacted us about combat grade bodies? Given the legal issues have been handled We can get started though I would presume you might be interested in a male shell?"

Kotone somehow blances or gives the feel she is as she looks and shakes her head. She tries to make a sound for a moment.

"No! No thank you! Female!"

The woman nods slightly and didn't mean to fluster Kotone, it's just a fact the male models tended to pack more armor and the lack than the female ones.

Thers'as a large number of full bodies on display, to varous limbs an other parts out here as the woman leads on.

"Now our class A models are this way."

Kotone opens up a cyber comm to STaren and Rory.

<I think the hardest thing and hte most alien is waking up in a body that isn't ... mine or wasn't mine till then. It's just heh too late now the money's being laid down.>

"Yes I'm looking for a variant iwth a good information warfare package, and at the very least a swim package."
Staren     Kotone explains the paper. "Oh."

When it's asked if he's a customer too, he blinks, startled, then shakes his head. "No, we're... we're techie friends of hers, here to make sure she gets a good deal." He grins. And tries to surpress a chuckle when Kotone's asked if she'd like a male shell. Even though he knows full well the reason.

As they approach the display, Staren hmmms, glancing over them. <<I know. I've done it. You... get used to it is the wrong word, well... you get used to a new body. Not to swapping. Not always. ...Swim package? How's that work?>>
Rory White     <If you buy it, isn't it yours?> Rory counters. Although the message is a bit belated.

No doubt she's TRYING to help Kotone get accustomed to this on a psychological level. She doesn't even really care about money to begin with!

But the fact that Kotone freaks at being offered a male body isn't lost on her. Rory makes a weird face herself. She'd probably react the same if a male body was thrust at her.

Which is even ODDER, given she's an AGI!

"Swimming... I've never even tried to swim..."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa has her idenity pretty frimly set and on her world this is basically the first generation of /dealing/ with such ideas. It's not become as common place on Rory's world yet, yere. Kotone isn't mad she was just put off out of sorts..

<Materials and certain other parts that make the body able to float and thus swim, I'd sink like a stone, I'd weigh more than sine some body builders.>

Rory gets a short message.

<I know it's just hard to explain. Rory? This isn't old hat like it is for your world. There's still a lot of restiance to this, espically after issue CS.>

Kotone does catch Rory's reaction and she's an AGI but hey if she has her idenity whom is she to argue, right?

"Really I should take you some time! It's fun! I grew up on the water."

The Sale woman shows a number of female bodioes they vary in size and shape. Also in race most of htem look pretty stock for various types of Asien Ethnicities, and a few base models for other nationalities. If One were to check online, they'd find shift their demo models based on where they are. Also a few are naked, but that's mroe to show the scale of human mimicry and it's disturbingly good in most cases.

"If you like we can use some of the virtual fitting room if you'd like to tailor the basic look you'd like before the artist goes to work on it. Also are you interested in any built in weapons?"

One might also notie the same base body of a certain major in section 9 is on display. Okay same model...
Staren     "Do you plan to change your look? Or maybe look like..." you were before, he was about to ask, then realizes it might be a sensitive issue. But he trails off, coincidentally, as one of the nude bodies comes into view, which might be misconstrued as the reason.

The subject of weapons comes up. "I know a lot of people favor some manner of autocannon, but for pure damage, you can't beat missiles."
Rory White     "Missiles for an internal weapon?" Rory sounds dubious, but she's not exactly too familiar with combat-oriented Morphs herself.

The strange array of bodies on display doesn't seem to be bothering her, not even the nude ones. She roams around the room, reading displays...
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks at Staren and keeps things chipper enough.

"To pass better and maybe hollywood it up just a little bit."

She looks a bit sheepish and hten bwahs at the suggestion from STaren much like Rory. She does wonde about this.

The sale clerk doesn't freak she's polite.

"Such weapons have proven to be better as external weapon load outs. I'd suggest a hidden blade if your into military work but I'd suggest it can also be removed."

IF it's not needed after all. Som places have differnt laws.

Rory as she goes off to look woudl find the ratings on some of these combat bodies are /very/ good combat bodies they might not be consider bleeding edge but the'd likely still preforma well in her world all things ocnsider some of the notes note the scale of tactile senations, and other interesing bite sized bits of information about them. Also some have some heavy cyberwarfar rigs with a large number of jacks of four or more rather than the standard two, going has high as eight but more than four would requite a hair piece of some sort being removable. There's also some displays for crazy hands that can split up for rapid typing it's rather nuts.

Also Rory would find one of the more notable human mimic demos too whichn't clothed in very much.

Kotone nods to the sales woman.

"All right shall we?"

She pauses to the others.

"I presume ytou both have the local wireless protocalls to come along if you like?"
Staren     Staren blinks. "Ah... well... I suppose something covert might be better. I just, uh... Given what we fight, I favor... rather powerful weapons. But maybe they don't need to be built in." he backpedals a bit sheepishly.

And then... the saleswoman offers... something? "Shall we... what? Come alone to what?"
Rory White     "Virtual showroom, she said!" Rory remminds Staren while checking over her protocols and local connections. So far she's been most interested in the Cyberwarfare and crazy-typing mods!

Not that she needs either. But the design itself is a marvel!

"You've got so many choices here! Getting closer to a pick, Kotone?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa smirks "Come along to offer input and maybe comment on things, yes I think I have some ideas but I want some input and I also want to see what options they have have to suggest."

With that the sale woman will lead people to a spot where they can sit downa nd jack in so to speak. It's a digital showroom that's basically clearly kept looking like it's a computer like space. The woman is there with the similar avatar, to her real self. Kotone's not using her white haired robot girl avatar today, no she's using her physical appernvc e as she steps towards a booth and a pillar of light warshes over here. Several sircle like displays appear showing the various options for Staren and Rory's own information as she starts to move through a number of faces and types, a red headed woman of mixed European decent, and several different japanese ones scroll by, with kotones face changin as she tries the various faces on.
Staren     Staren blinks. "Ah, of course." He looks around for a place to sit -- oh, they've got one, good.

His avatar is his ALO one -- he hadn't bothered to bring another one. He looks around curiously. "Well..." He looks over the options, more interested in the stats of the bodies since looks don't matter. "Besides perfect mimicry and a cyberwarfare suite, do you have any other criteria?"
Rory White     When Rory appears, her avatar is...

Well, not really any different than her normal appearance! It would be kind of crazy to use a wacky tricky unrecognizable Simulmorph. Why would she do that?

Maybe that's a bit boring but she's a creature of familiarity!

When the array of faces go by though...

She starts eagerly awaiting for something Familiar. OR close to it, anyways!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa comemnts as she pauses at a face that mightr be befitting a valkyrie.

"Humm yes a few other highy mobile given the sorts of trouble we get into to be honest and some type of ineral weapon could be worth considering. She pauses as her face shifts again. A certain Avatar might note it's a lot like a certain face theif's face swapping.

She finally comes to her current face an it starts being touched up a bit nothing hat would render it not being Kotone but clearely looking a boit more like Kotone's gone to holly wood. She also gets she often is ending up the party face too it seems.

"Humm whatcha think here?"
Staren     Staren nods, using the criteria to narrow down the list of bodies he's looking at. Finally he looks over as she asks about her appearance. He shrugs. "A little photoshop, huh? I dunno, looks fine. Do you really think /I'm/ the one to ask about appearances, though?"
Rory White     "I-I'm surprised. Not going for something more like your original look? Though that's fine too!" She... doesn't have much actual input to offer here. Physical loooks aren't easy for her to judge! But she's trying to sound genuinely happy about it. Kotone seems so!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes, we may need a pretty face and it does distract some I mean there are powerful elites like Lute out there."

She pauses for a moment at Rory.

"I ... That me and all the possiblities she had in her life died that day on the operating table I just .. needed a break from that, right? Are you okay Rory?"
Staren     Staren's face scrunches a little as Kotone says all her old possibilities are gone. "That... that doesn't have to be true..." He sighs. "As long as you're doing what you want to, now." He walks around to peer at Kotone's possible new face, staring and scrutinizing. "Hmmmm... Yes, it is pretty." Then he goes back to consulting the list and stats of the available bodies.
