Guest Dash Things shut down in and around Ponyville rather early in the night. There's some places (Coughcoughvinyls) that stay open well into the early morning hours, but otherwise most businesses are closing down by the mid evening hours. Makes it difficult for someone with the munchies to find a place to get a snack.

Unfortunately for Rainbow Dash, she usually has the munchies. One of the down sides to being one of the fastest things on two wings.

"Come on, still be open!" Rainbow speeds down mane street, her mane and tail whipping about in the wind behind her. Even in the semi-dark of evening, she leaves behind a trail of colors. Eyes flick to the side, catching sight of the 'OPEN' sign in the window. "Score!" She quickly touches down just outside of a shop without bothering to slow down. But her momentum takes her right past the shop's door. All four hooves sliiide across the ground, past the door, and straight towards a pile of crates!

CRUNCH!

Make that a former pile of crates.
Rarity Not everypony was out for munchies. Some where out for the fact that their younger sister yet again botched an attempt at learning to cook, which meant picking up something short and simple for a late dinner to make up for it.

Gee, guess who we're talking about.

And it just happens to be Rarity that was about to step out as Dash comes barreling in without checking her own speed once more. Thankfully not -into- the fashionista, but the pegasus blasts past fast enough to spin the unicorn around enough times that even when she stops twirling her eyes are all swirly-wirly.
Twilight Sparkle       And who else is out and about? Spike, it seems! As Rarity is spun around, Spike is there to catch any items she might drop. "That Rainbow Dash should really watch where she is going!" the little dragon says in a huff. Twilight Sparkle, who is just coming out the door of the diner as well, blinks at Spike's comment, then toward the crash of the crates. "Rainbow Dash!" she exclaims before galloping over. "Are you alright?" she asks, her horn glowing as she takes crates off of Dash.
Guest Dash After a couple of boxes are taken off of the now misshapen pile, a rainbow maned head pops up. Rainbow Dash sticks her tongue out in annoyance, "Thanks Twi, that didn't really go the way I thought." She shakes her head from side to side a bit, shedding a few splinters from her mane. With a little bit of effort, she then starts dislodging herself from the (thankfully) empty crates. She flicks her wings out as soon as she's free, intending to take off again. "I'll be good so soon as-"

She trails off, watching a pony turn the 'OPEN' sign of the resteraunt Rarity just came out of to 'CLOSED'.

Rainbow Dash lets out a brief whinney. "I take it back, I'm not good. That's like the last place in town!"
Rarity Fortunately it was just a couple of takeout bags and not anything too large. But it's still appreciated. "Oh, Spike! How fortunate you were there." Rarity takes the feed bags (I mean, they're bags with pony food in them, what else would you call them?) and gives the dragon a little quick smooch on the forehead in thanks.
Twilight Sparkle       Spike practically melts when he is kissed on the forehead. "He..hehe...you know you can always count on me, Rarity..." he murmurs dreamily.

Twilight helps Dash out of the crates, then giggles softly as Rainbow Dash sees the shop close. "Don't worry, Rainbow Dash. I always have some snacks at home. Spike gets the munchies quite often." she says with a smile. "You are welcome to come over, of course. We can talk about the latest Daring Do book!"
Guest Dash Rainbow Dash's ears perk up, and she flashes Twilight one of her big grins. "Really? Awesome, Twilight! I kiiinda forgot to go shopping today, and all I've got at home is a half eaten apple from like a week ago." She makes a face, tongue sticking out. "I'm not that hungry yet."

When Spike gets all mushy again, Rainbow rolls her eyes. How can that little dragon think of romance at a time like-... "Saaay, Rarity..." Rainbow says, her eyes on the left over feed bags.
Rarity Rarity makes a face of absolute disgust when Rainbow Dash mentions how long that unfinished apple has been sitting around. "Good grief Rainbow Dash, you really should clean up after yourself! Do you have any idea what sort of mold can grow on discarded fruit like that?!" Pause. Then turns her head a little to look behind her. "What? What are you staring at?"
Twilight Sparkle       Spike hops in front of Rarity and holds his stubby little arms out protectively. "No way! You can't have Rarity's snacks! She needs those to make sure her creativity is properly fueled!" he says gallantly.

Twilight just rolls her eyes gently and smiles, then takes Dash toward the library. "Would you like to come along, Rarity? Or...surrender your food to Rainbow Dash?" Twilight says, pausing in her movement toward the library.
Guest Dash "Hey, it's still green," Rainbow Dash points out to Rarity. "Sorta. It's okay if it's green on the inside, right?" She then lifts a hoof and points it at Rarity's left overs, "You going to finish that?" She snorts a little, "Oh come on, Spike. It's not like it's gems or anything."

But with the promise of food that she doesn't need to get through a dragon to get at, Rainbow Dash follows after Twilight towards the library.
Rarity Rarity almost goes into a triade at Dash for even insinuating with that look... but between Spikes defense and Twilight's offer it isn't a necessity to do so. So she just sighs a little as she deposits the sacks in her saddlebags and then follows after the others. "Oh goodness, I'm much too full for a snack right now. Though prehaps a cup of something to drink before I return home would be nice."
Twilight Sparkle       Twilight giggles at Spike's 'valiant' defense of Rarity, then shakes her head. "Come on, Rainbow Dash. You don't have to take others' leftovers. I have plenty over at the library." she says, then starts walking. She uses her magic to open the door once she is close, then waits for the others to get inside before she closes it.

Spike eagerly runs off into the kitchen to start making tea, while Twilight moves to start preparing food for Rainbow Dash. Twilight is smiling as she opens the door to her pantry. Then...her smile fades a bit. "...ohmy..." She forgot that she had a saiyan over for dinner last night. A couple of moths fly out of the pantry as Twilight starts rummaging.
Guest Dash "Thanks, Twi," Rainbow Dash says, trotting into the library. "You're pretty cool. For an egghead, I mean." That's a pretty high compliment coming from Rainbow Dash. Well, it is! The pegasus walks up to one of the reading tables, and pulls one of the cushions over to flop down on it lazily.
Rarity Rarity pulls herself over a cushion with her magic and sits down on it. Not too close to the pegasus though. She's seen how you eat! "Oh Rainbow Dash, why do you always insist on it making a difference that Twilight Sparkle is an intelligent pony like that?"
Twilight Sparkle       Twilight is just about to say 'Thank you' when Rarity speaks up. Twilight blinks, then waves a hoof dismissively. "Oh, it is no big deal, Rarity. I am sure Rainbow Dash will realize someday that I am quite 'rad', regardless of my mental prowess." she says. She finally managed to find something that hadn't been eaten. Apples! Twilight slices up several apples and tosses them into a salad with some orange slices and almond slices, then trots back out into the living area. "Here you are, Rainbow Dash! I hope you like it." Twilight says as she floats the salad over to the hungry pegasus.

Spike, meanwhile, waddles in carrying a teapot and a teacup on a saucer, with a couple of sugar cubes on the saucer along with a pretty purple tulip. "Here ya go, Rarity!" he says happily before pouring tea into the teacup and holding it and the saucer up.
Guest Dash "It's a way different sort of cool," Rainbow Dash replies. She leans back on the cushion, tail splayed out behind her. "There's egghead cool like Twilight," One forehoof is pointed back at the kitchen, "And then there's cool cool like me." Dash lifts a hoof up to her chest, "Trust me, I know these things. I'm a total coolspert."

That probably doesn't sound as good as she intended.

"Uh, we aren't talking about radicalness, Twilight," Rainbow shakes her head. She opens her mouth to say something more, and is distracted by the salad being floated out in front of her. Her ears lift, and the pegasus grins. "Awesome! Thanks, Twi! You're the best!"

It might be a good thing that Rarity backed away, because Dash doesn't even bother with a fork.
Rarity Rarity narrows her eyes slightly. "You just made up that word."

But then Spike distracts her with tea. "Thank you, dahling." She drops the sugar cubes in the tea and then takes the entire thing with her magic, sipping softly at it.
Twilight Sparkle       Twilight mmphs softly when Rainbow Dash points out that radicalness is not the same as coolness. Twilight just doesn't understand that. They are synonyms! Twilight just shakes her head, then moves to her favorite beanbag and lies down. When she is thanked, though, she smiles warmly. "You're welcome. I'm always happy to help a friend." she says.

Spike smiles as well before yawning and plopping down on a nearby pillow. Twilight giggles, then looks to Rarity. "It's been a while since we got to spend any time together, Rarity. How is your business coming along? Have you gotten your new fall line set up?"
Guest Dash "I just used it, so it's totally a word," Rainbow Dash says, lifting her head up from the bowl of salad again. Dash logic.

After her first dive into the salad, Dash takes things a bit slower. Still no fork though, because even though pegasi can use their prehensile wings for things like that, she doesn't care to. Still, at least she's not making lettuce go everywhere.
Rarity Rarity just glares at Dash over her cup of tea. Because those table manners are totally atrocious. "You eat like you were raised in a barn... no offense to Applejack and her kin meant, of course." Yes she realizes how silly this saying sounds when applied to equestrians.

Then she turns her attention to Spike instead. "Oh, yes. Very busy. But I love my craft too much to do anything less than what is required to make it another stunning success."
Twilight Sparkle       Twilight winces a bit as well when Dash goes to town on that salad. "Rainbow Dash, you should really slow down. Eating too fast could give you a tummy ache." she says, concerned. Spike is out cold already on his pillow, curled up like a cute little cat who sucks his thumb. Twilight smiles at Rarity's response. "You are one of the hardest working ponies in Ponyville." Twilight says.

Then, Twilight looks to Rainbow Dash again. "That was a rather impressive display you and the other pegasi put together for Skytrotter's Day. I was surprised you weren't flying during that last display, though."
Rarity Rarity finishes her tea and sets the cup down. "Thank you Twilight. Speaking of which, I should return home and make sure Sweetie Belle did not ruin something in addition to the kitchen while I was gone. So I shall bid you two, adieu."
Guest Dash "Hey, somepony had to help deal with Mojo Lameo!" Rainbow grins over at Twilight. Bits of lettuce are stuck to her muzzle, but she doesn't seem to mind all that much. She shrugs, which causes her wings to flutter a little bit, "And like anyone would be watching my slick moves in the first place." A pause, as she chews on a slice of apple. "Okay, and maybe I just wanted to hang out with my gal pals."

Dash lifts a wing up to wave it at white unicorn. "Seeya, Rarity!"
Twilight Sparkle       Twilight smiles at Rainbow Dash when she hears the pegasus's response, then yawns softly. "Oh dear. I think I should get to bed. I've been staying up too late too often lately." Thanks Staren! "Feel free to stay the night, Rainbow Dash." she says, then stands and heads up toward her bedroom.

She picks up Spike and his pillow as she goes, floating him with her as she walks.
Guest Dash "Nah, I'm good!" Rainbow Dash says, finishing off the last of her salad, "Thanks for the pick-me-up." She pauses to wipe up her muzzle a bit, just to get the little flakes of lettuce that she missed. Then grabs the bowl and quickly flies off to the kitchen to drop it off in the sink.

Then she's quickly out back into the main library. "Night, Twilight. We really gotta hang out more." She waves at the unicorn, before darting out the front door. She pauses to snap it shut behind her, before flying off into the night.
