Sakura Kinomoto     Tsukihime Shrine. It's rather sparsely populated, at this time of day - after all, most people have more important things to do than hang out in a religious site! There are a few people having a picnic near the large tree, however.

Sakura herself is in the rear courtyard. She's set up some gym equipment! Currently she's balancing on top of a pommel horse, eyes closed, and only standing on one foot. Huh.

She's wearing standard gym clothes - white t-shirt, blue bloomers, white socks and sneakers. Her hair is tied up in a sidetail with a wing-shaped hair clip today!
Miko Fujimoto     Miko Fujimoto has been here once before, to buy a bag of small cake-like sweet breads. It didn't go well. There was a shoplifter, and destroyed cakes, and magical girl battles, and a thrown car. Pretty messy. She has met Sakura Kinomoto twice now, both times in the form of Princess Paladin. Miko had many more interactions with the Union before they knew her true identity, but this had petered off when she decided she was going to protect those important to her no matter what - and that those important to her were the Confederacy's Elite.

Yet, with things happening in her life lately, she has chosen to come to Tomoeda again, looking for that girl she met. She isn't sure why, exactly. Maybe she wants a different perspective. Maybe she wants to see a different version of Japan than her own monster-and-magical-girl-infested one. Maybe she just wants to see if she can make a friend outside the Confederacy.

Everything is confusing right now. And in her confusion, the clarity she seeks is in a city she has only been once before and has no other connection to.

She is wearing a white skirt and a light-blue blouse, presently. Her hair is down as it usually is, and she has on white socks with small cat faces on the sides, and brown shoes. She's 18 but she's still wearing cat-face socks. Miko's perspective is she's 18, and she can choose to wear cat-face socks if she wants to.

Somehow, in her random wandering, the teenager is drawn to the shrine. After her experiences at the Midnight Shrine, she kind of wonders if such sites might hold special significance for her or her Artifact.

But maybe it's like White Rose said the other day, and those who are Significant To Magic tend to run into each other. Because there's Sakura, doing some exercises. Miko hesitates for several seconds before approaching - but not close enough to disrupt the other girl's concentration.
Sakura Kinomoto     Sakura, after a while, switches to her other leg, arms still extended out. She barely wobbles as she makes the transition, then manages to stand completely stock still, perfectly disributing her weight. It might be weird to see a fourteen-year-old basically doing the anime ninja thing.

She could probably do this on the top of a power pole too.

After a few moments, Sakura opens her eyes, looking over towards Miko. Her head tilts slightly. "...Hello? Umm. The... priest said this was okay, so don't worry..."
Miko Fujimoto     Miko blinks at first, after being greeted. She was so busy watching and waiting, she forgot that Sakura hasn't met her face-to-face in civilian form. She waves off the explanation and says, "Oh! No, that's not where I'm here about. Sorry to interrupt you! I, uh, actually came to talk to you. If you have the time, I mean. If not, perhaps some other day." She is a lot shyer and more easily flustered than a certain pink-haired magical girl.

Maybe she should come back later. Or maybe this just a bad idea. She has no reason to think Sakura will listen to anything she has to say, after all.
Sakura Kinomoto     Sakura puts her other foot down on the pommel horse, then slides off it - rolling over and landing on her feet on the dirt ground of the courtyard. "You need to talk? Okay, sure. Sakura Kinomoto, Mage of Tomoeda, at your service. What's up?"

Sakura looks curious, but not at all on edge. See seems pretty confident in herself... or she's not expecting trouble at all.
Miko Fujimoto     Miko bows her head to Sakura politely in greeting. She IS the older of the two so she doesn't have to bow quite as far. "Ah, yes. I'm aware of that. I'm Miko Fujimoto. We've met before under other circumstances, and I was, uh... Princess Paladin at the time." Now she bows more deeply, folding her hands in front of her, and lowering her head as she calls out, "I'm sorry for the trouble!"

She looks up eventually, and says, "Mostly, I just wanted to... To talk to you. As normal people, not as magical girls. I've been... Surrounded by other kinds of people lately, and I thought... Maybe I needed someone more like you. And maybe we wouldn't have to be enemies."
Sakura Kinomoto     Sakura tenses, just a little bit. She's obviously caught a little off guard, but she's doing her best to stay calm. Her head tilts slightly again, and she gives a smile - a warm, bright smile that might remind Miko slightly of starlight. For some reason. How odd!

"Don't worry about it. You didn't cause any trouble~ Well, okay, you -did-, but. I deal with worse stuff all the time. So don't worry about it."

"If you work for the Confederate ELite Forces then we -do- have to be enemies. But that doesn't mean we can't be friendly, right? I mean. Seikou is my friend, and -she- works for the CEF too."
Miko Fujimoto     Miko smiles a bit herself when Sakura acknowledges her apology. But the assertion that they do have to be enemies causes that smile to fade, and Miko to look away a bit. But she straightens up, takes a breath, and tries smiling again as she returns her gaze to Sakura. "Yes. There's no reason we can't be friendly. And yes, I am a Confederate Elite, I guess. I've re-evaluated things, since my situation has changed a little bit from where I was at when I first joined. I have friends there too. People I want to protect. It's no longer about what it was at the start. But while I'm trying to change..."

She sighs and says, "Abandoning my battle isn't an option for me. Maybe someday it will be over. But for now... I just want to find the things I'm missing. The people that can make my life better, and the people I can help in turn. Fuelling my transformations with negative emotions has had consequences. And I think... That needs to change, or something terrible is going to happen. So, I know this is a bit much to throw at you all at once for our 'first time' meeting, but..." Miko shrugs and asks. "Any tips for living a good life and being happy with who you are?"
Sakura Kinomoto     Sakura rubs the back of her head a bit. "Man... am I the only magical girl with an idealistic life by default or something?" She shakes her head a little bit. "I don't have some... big mystical Enemy or anything, so I've never really... struggled with that sort of thing? I mean. I've been in the Union forces for about four years now, but I don't think that's quite the same experience..."

She shakes her head. "I suppose my advice is... travel the world. Make friends. Find more things you care about and want to protect. And, um. Focus on your family? Although I don't know what your family situation is..."

She turns and leans on the pommel horse a bit. "I'm not really the best person to ask about this. I... kinda have it super easy, really." Lil' half-smile. She looks -guilty- for some reason.
Miko Fujimoto     Miko thinks about what Sakura says. And also what she doesn't. She considers whether to say anything about her family. She is ready to reject that suggestion out of hand, but she DID ask for advice, and her family IS a source of major negative emotions for her. She's just... Pretty sure that they aren't any more ready to deal with her than she is to deal with them. Not yet. "My family and I are not presently on speaking terms," is all she decides to say on that matter. She tilts her head and gives a lopsided smile as she says, "Sorry. I guess we all have problems. I shouldn't be burdening you with mine. I'll think about what you said. And seeing more of the Multiverse is definitely something I'd like to do more of. And also..." She steps forward, moving closer to Sakura, and then holding out her hand. "...Finding more friends seems like a good idea too. Would you like to start me off? And if you need help with anything, you can let me know too."

Not that Miko is any better a person to ask about this kind of stuff than Sakura, but she's used to trying to make others happy at the expense of herself. That's kind of the problem. At least in this case, it seems like Sakura is the kind of person who wants to make other people happy too.
Sakura Kinomoto     Sakura frowns a little bit, sympathetically. "Oh. That's sad," she says, softly, in regards to Miko and her family. "..Oh, no, don't worry. It's pretty much my -job- to help people, you know? 'Sides, I couldn't live with myself if I refused to help." Another of those warm smiles!

Sakura doesn't seem too surprised by the offered hand. She takes it! "...My name is Sakura Kinomoto. My favourite colour is pink and my favourite foods are seafood noodles and omeletes." Smiiile. "My birthday is April 1st. My least favourite subject at school is Mathematics and my favourites are Home Economics and Physical Education."

She giggles a bit. "Oh, and my favourite thing in the whole world? -Magic-."
Miko Fujimoto     Miko grins a bit as her hand is taken and shakes Sakura's. Then she says, "Miko Fujimoto, I also like pink, and I like sweets and chocolates more than I probably should. My birthday is October 22nd, and I'm studying computer science at university. I don't have a favorite subject or least-favorite subject, but I don't have much experience at cooking. Magic has changed my life a lot, so I guess I like it a lot too."
Sakura Kinomoto     Sakura nods her head firmly. "Okay then. We're friends now!" She smiiiles some more, warmly. Almost motherly? Huh. "...Okay! So we're gona go eat cakes now."

Firm nod. She's not going to accept any arguments apparently!
