Faruja After that ominous little announcement by Fuki, Inquisitor Faruja Senra set to work. Goug Machine City isn't entirely disposed to the Church as things stand, as far as such is possible, but the rat's work with dealing out justice to certain noblemen has given the rodent a fair amount of pull with various factions in the city.

Thus it is that rumors of a festival just outside of the city have been circulated out into various channels, and likely ones that Fuki might pick up on. A religious festival celebrating one of the Acolytes of Saint Ajora, rumored to be the first Mage of the Church. Surely one such as Faruja, and a host of others would be there!

And it seems to be true. The fairgrounds are strewn with crappily put together stalls and games, men and women milling about in the dirty clothes and robes so common in the area. From afar, it's a perfectly normal festival.

Including the fact that Faruja is giving a sermon upon a literal soapbox. It's a perfect time to strike from all appearances as the rat drones on and on about religion.
Fuki     The little Shinki loves her ominous little annoumcents at times, and this time, she actually has the things to back it up. Standing solo in a tree, the Shinki watches on and on, a festival... a perfect time to cause a rampage and Roda would love it, gets to trash his former home!

Speaking of Roda, it's really hard to try and hide a ten foot tall hulking purple forested monstrosity that is a behemoth in a city-like area so, she's kept him quite a ways back. Her eyes focus around the area, stalls... people... innocent and possibly pure... then... the target, the ratpriest of Ivalice. She said she'd visit. And apparently, she picked the right place. "Bullseye."

Flying back to Roda, who surprisingly was staying right where Fuki left him, she mounts up between the horns of the giant beast and nods, "Forward." she commands, picking up the crude rod and lightning crystal... "Roda, it's time to visit 'home'...."

THUNK.... THUNK.... THUNK.... The ground shakes hard even from a ways away... though odd tremors... or monstrosity, only time can tell..
Faruja It all works almost more perfectly than he could have guessed, at least in theory. Trees crash, and Faruja has to stifle a grin. He's two-thirds the way through a sermon on charity to the poor and bravery in the face of danger, before in comes the massive purple monstrocity that is a Behemoth. The Shinki of course is near impossible to spot, but those in the fairgrounds certainly do. As does the rat.

There's shrieks, and several amongst the crowd as they dive for cover behind booth games, benches, and other sundries.

But something's slightly off about the whole affair. It's a touch too organized, and some of the closer fairgoers slightly less frightened than might be appropriate for civilians. Maybe the Goug citizenry are made of sterner stuff?

Faruja teleports closer to the end of the fairgrounds, the Burmecian steadfast as he chants arcane words. With a flash of fire and flame, the great Esper Phoenix bursts into view, calling out a challenge to the beast lumbering in from afar.

"OH, GREAT BEAST! YE SHAN'T HARM THESE PEOPLE IN GOD'S NAME! FACE THE WRATH OF THE HOLY!" Screams out Faruja, not exactly having to fake zealous fury.

Amidst the crowd, the more hidden of them reach for concealed swords, bows, and crossbows, while the mages amongst them all mentally prepare spells.
Fuki     The great beast of fire, a smile upon the Shinki's face. "Now now, where are your manners." the Shinki chides, still hidden in the mane of the Behemoth. "Stand down for now, Roda..." she closes her eyes and smirks, the Shinki's eyes scanning the field. Mages, archers, swordsmen... the rat was prepared. Of course, when you make a bold statement...

"Decided to get a bit of a head start, huh? Commendable, rat priest." a pause, "But they look ill equipped to face this monstrosity now." a look up to the firebird, "Though, that thing on the other hand looks quite amazing. Perhaps that would offer Roda a wonderful little SNACK..."

"Alas, I get ahead of myself, Faruja." a smirk, walking out of the mane and onto the nose of Roda... a daring proposition already for the Shinki. The lightning crystal tipped rod at the ready... "Did you think that would help? Look behind your men, you'll find Keesha waiting for you... and your spellcasters cat food..." Keesha's standing on two fallen mages and whiskers pointed at a third...
Faruja "Figured it out already, Lady Fuki? Astute. I see I hath underestimated ye." The Inquisitor sounds impressed. Maybe he should have brought more than the local guard.

Then again, he's half convinced a good two-thirds of them were Heretics in the making. A small sacrifice.

Two dead mages, and Faruja's scowling. Yanking out his Blaze Gun, the rodent teleports, physically imposing his short stature between the mage and the Couerl. Pulling the trigger, it lets out a gout of flame meant more as a deterrant.

the real danger is the mage getting to her feat as a few knights draw their blades to further get in the way. A huge chunk of ice starts to fall towards the creature!

"These men and women art willing to die for their homes. I pray ye and thine own art willing to die here as well."

With a mental command, Phoenix flies higher, and with a flap of her wings, sends a burning flare of fiery feathers to the earth where Roda and potentially Fuki are hoving! The beast likely can take the blow, but it sure as heck burns. A warning shot?
Fuki     "I'm a Shinki, I have capabilities that you can't understand, Faruja." a pause, "Though, I appreciate the use of the word Lady, a respectable sir, even if you're Union." she scoffs a bit and Keesha lets out a loud mewlp as the warning shot sends her scurrying some, behind some buildings. Oh that rat was going to get it, it's big dinner.

The beast, however, tanks the ice shards and the fire blast, fur scorched and some of the tail covered in ice.. "Not bad. shall I then?" a quick hop back and into the mane the Shinki goes... and with a thwack, zot and a loud roar.. the beast starts to rampage, quickly making a full turn to slam its tail into a few of the stalls and knock a few people over, civvies and some of the guard too... "A tisket... a tasket... let's crush all their baskets..."

Fuki leans back, a grapple harness keeping her in place with a couple cameras, tiny they be, on the horns of the creature so she can see. "Alright, Roda... that's enough, let's charge straight ahead..." and with another thwack, the beast lumbers forward, letting out a pained roar from the lightning rod.
Faruja "Likely not, if half of what I hath heard is true of thine kind. Not mine forte. Still. Just because I canst not understand ye, doth not mean fighting ye is out of the question." He flicks his tail, and smirks.

Faruja offers a bow.

"I wouldst think of nothing less. Ye offered a proper, subtle challenge to an Inquisitor. Ye art worthy of the title, far more than blue-blooded cravens that run this land so oft. But 'tis neither here nor there. We art come to slay one another, or at least play to such. So let us properly get started, mmm? Ye didst well in mastering a Behemoth."

Many a guard goes down, hardly a civilian in the bunch. For every death, there's a number that strike at legs with swords and spears, then back off. Bolts and arrows fly by the dozen, and fire spells smash into Roda.

With a swift bark, the men and women hastily get out of the way of the creature's charge! A particularly deft Geomancer steps up, and presses his hands to the ground. It rumbles, and cracks, starting to fall beneath the Behemoth as a Quake spell goes off!
