Starbound Flotilla     The huge luxury private-airplane style spacecraft that the Zaibatsu and Flotilla VIPs -- that is to say, the majority, if not all, of the attending Elites, plus the Zaibatsu's big names -- will be arriving in are the first demonstration for the night, before even the opening ceremony. They're about twice the size of a bus each, and designed in sleek whites and grays, with a pair of massive glowing purple gemstones at the back humming gently with every floaty motion. These prototype magitech FTL engines are MP-compatible versions of the FTL engines in use by the Starbound Flotilla itself! They run so smooth, and have enough space to be furnished luxuriously and practically catered with some hired staff.

The ride over here was relaxing and a little ostentatiously luxurious, but they soon land, in a circle of temporary landing docks around the central stage. They may not have the same suite of incredible technologies as the Starbound Flotilla's Core Fleet, but damned if they don't make space travel feel stylish, especially when their wide doors hiss open to a set of rising steps robotically assembled in front of them. Speaking of those ships, the six large craft that make up the Core Fleet of the Starbound Flotilla are on autopilot, constantly running circles around the massive Expo, projecting spotlights and lasershows and massive holographic displays of new technologies! But most of the spotlights are on the central stage; the Starbound Expo won't let anything go slowly on opening night, not one bit.

The stars can be seen in full force. There's a planet hanging low on the horizon, its surface covered in water and forestation. The stars around it twinkle brightly, inspiring an intense sense of awe and a profound feeling of overwhelming cosmic scale.
Kotone Yamakawa So Kotone isn't so much coming out to see things as she's to put on a demo of several of the things she can do. Most notably vehicle design and thanks to Rory's letting her lose on the nano fabber. She's produce a second bike, both very sleek and electrical powered., one is a model designed for people with cybernetic argumentation in mind. The other is designed for someone who has no cybernetics at all.

Both come with support AI's for assisting in driving and accident prevention, both come with all the feature's you'd expect on a bike, but the interesting thing is there's an option for either to be a mobile server based on the old pirate box ethos which started back when Kotone's father was young. Finally both are very sleek in their designs, the augmented model is blue and the non cybernetic model is bright red. Finally each model has an manual cut off to kill the bike's AI and computer systems in case of emergency.

There's also a restored pre third world war bike, which is more showing off her restoration skill,s there's several holographic displays of other craft Kotone has designed, along with ads for the various servitude she offers. From restoration to salvage and her vehicle design rates as well.

For Kotone her self she's dressed more formally than most people who know her would have expected she's not in dress but more of a suit sort of deal she's clearly putting on her best face.
Souji Murasame Were Souji a lesser person, he would spend quite an amount of time marveling at the adaptability of the members of the Flotilla in working to combine their own technology with Galiandan magitech. The ride to the station is most pleasant, and he arrives on site to observe the culmination of the first stage of their collaberative.

What he sees at first glance pleases the corporate heir. This is going to be an /excellent/ return on investment. He actually allows himself a faint smile as he begins to step up onto the central floor, waiting to observe the main demonstration.
Corona Arclite Now normally inspecting new technology wasn't part of Corona's work orders. Typically she was more likely to be the one finding old stuff and finding a way to make it work again. But seeing as she was the member of Loadstar's operations that had the most experience with 'otherworld' technology, it made the most sense to send her. That and she has at least worked with some of the people involved. Some more than others. Speaking of, she'll have to track down Kotone's display. Eventually. She's probably going to be getting distracted and sidetracked a lot tonight.

Case in point, she doesn't get two steps off the transports before she has to stop and look back to inspect the self-deploying steps. "Sure beats havin' to wait fer the coachman to come open the hatchs for ya." At least she's not the sort to try and pick everything apart. Unless she's suppose to. Which isn't one of those times, so keeping hands to herself!
Audrey Stormfist     Like a good lapdog-- we mean kouhai-- AUDREY STORMFIST is in Souji's shadow, ever in the blue, reinforced military overcoat that is KIRIN's upper up uniform, with a gunblade sheathed to her side. Though in this case, she would have been happy to come regardless of his presence, being a bit of a technophile. No engineer or scientist, certainly, more someone who just really appreciates technology.

One shouldn't be surprised to see her wander off now and then to gawk and booths, although she'll control her urges while in senpai's presence. Can't go off looking like an excited child. Kyra can handle that perfectly well, after all.

Damn if the Starbounders won't make it hard, though.
Artyom W. Valodjn     Artyom has been keeping himself busy lately. With all the activity at the new moonbase, the Titan has been spending much of his time overseeing the construction effort. Now, though, with much of the job completed, it's time to actually showcase the results of all of Amaterasu's hard work. Artyom is not in fact aboard one of the spacecraft. Instead, he's standing at the landing area, dressed in clothes that are far more formal than what most would usually see him wearing.

Suits are expensive for men of his size, you know?

As the Murasame representatives- and other guests- begin filing in, Artyom inclines his head in subtle greeting. The Titan turns his face up towards the stars and the spaceships on holding pattern high above, before accompanying the rest of the Murasame crew back towards the expo.

He glances at Souji, and allows himself a slight grin. "Magnificent, isn't it?" Artyom asks, sparing a glance at the expanse of space-station all around them, "There's much promise here. Almost limitless quantities of raw materials- and that's only a drop in the bucket."
Alexis Maaka     Fancy luxury indeed, as Alexis hops off the transport with grace. She isn't armed save for a sidearm tucked under her shoulder, underneath her suit's jacket no less. As she steps off, sunglasses on as she observes the technology on display. She herself isn't much a creator, not at the moment anyway, but she's definitely impressed with what she sees.

The cyborg stops by the bikes Kotone's made first, giving a soft whistle. "This what you've been working on all this time, kid? Nice work, can't wait to see the demonstrations later." She grins a little, removing her shades and tucking them along her shirt's collar, before she approaches the stage proper.
Zwei     Though entirely unnecessary given Asche's ability to achieve travel between a planetary surface and an orbiting moon, Zwei is adamant on going through the full VIP event treatment from start to finish. It makes certain to place the combat Armiger on standby near to the chosen moon's oxygen generator, close enough to get an alternate angle view of the assembly, but Weiss is placed aboard the shuttle for the whole ride; hair down, earrings on, skin simulating light makeup, and wearing an expensive looking black, side-slitted cocktail dress. There's essentially no reason to dress her up for a black tie event between working associates who already know Zwei's true nature, but it's part of the experience, and thus must be done.

Asche has taken the step of posting a loose web of recon drones against the glittering night sky for the simple purpose of gaining a wider view of the event, whilst Weiss makes her way up the stairs, predictably making the difficulty of doing so in heels look like a myth. "Wow~ Someone's been busy~" She remarks more at Souji than anyone else, sparing an unreadable glance to his right and left hands following along. She waves coyly at Kotone, perhaps aware of her role in the upcoming presentation ahead of time.
Starbound Flotilla     Asche, stationed near the oxygen generator, will see that it's not just an oxygen generator. The generator under the thing seems to have some kind of highly complicated imprint-retention system, based vaguely on Matter Manipulator principles, to keep the surrounding environment from decaying in any way, among other effects that can't be determined until the machine is activated properly.
Rory White     Make something big and impressive, show off available technology and services?

That's a challenge indeed, for an Argonaut in a precarious situation like Rory! But she's put on a booth of her own. Instead of proper tables however, she's set out a bunch of Desktop Cornucopia Machines hooked up to the base's power supply. These fabbers are big as personal office desks, roughly box-shaped and transparent so one can see the masses of nanites slowly assembling all manner of things from tools and parts to meals and advanced electronic gadgets. There are all kinds of weird gadgets on display - for instance, smart tools! Ergonomically rounded handles with protrusions that reshape themselves on the fly into all manner of tools - chisels, scalpels, screwdrivers, drills...

There's also a holoprojector showing off dozens of designs for different Space Habs and standard spaceships.

    Yet...

"... I really have no idea how to present anything..." Rory nervously fusses out Kotone's way.

Indeed, she hasn't even had much chance to DO much cross-applications for new technology - much of her projects weren't physical, after all.

The only things of distinctly HER make are a variety of robot drones in all shapes and sizes - many based on existing models, of course. But there are a good dozen of them slowly doing laps around her section of the expo. Those with hands wave at anyone nearby! ... She has made sure the ones without tools do not, because in her experience waving mop-like appendages around tends to SCARE people instead of welcome them.

    Who -knows- why?

One Holoprojector is also showing off something kinda weird. A holographic moogle enters a ring floating in the air and transforms into several streams of binary code. The code flies off the 'screen' and then comes back, going in reverse to become a little Moogle...

It's really hard to demonstrate 'I'm working on a Mognet to digital converter'.
Starbound Flotilla     There's plenty of time to gawk at a few booths, but there's not quite much out just yet. The opening ceremony hasn't started, and it's scheduled for just minutes after the VIPs' arrivals. Right on the hour, Moonfin descends from the sky, lit by spotlights.

He slams onto the central stage with a heavy glowing shockwave of energy technology going off, the facade over it is blasted away all at once, shards of it fired off into the distance harmlessly. Under it, left completely unharmed, is some sort of zen garden. The ridges of its surface suddenly shift into intricate and profound patterns surrounding the fishman, who stands rather serenely with just his third eye open. STYLISH. He's wearing an immaculate suit, not unsettled in the least by his sudden landing. Then, with a broad, wide gesture, he speaks with an amplified voice. "Technology enthusiasts of Ramuh, businessmen of the Zaibatsu, competitors of our markets, citizens from all throughout Galandia and the worlds beyond! You have my welcome, and you certainly have my thanks. Tonight marks the beginning of the FUJIN-Starbound Technology Expo, and the beginning of a great endeavor!"

"For while the services of businesses that are part of the Murasame Zaibatsu have given Ramuh and the Plates beyond the best in industry and defense of all of Galianda, tonight I am happy to announce and demonstrate that soon it will be providing the best of the Extraverse as well!" His hands raise as the various logos of Zaibatsu businesses begin being holographically displayed in the air behind him. "The Starbound Flotilla is happy to partner with the FUJIN Institute of Research, and proud to present to you, tonight, the fruits of that partnership."

"My friends, my associates, and my competitors, welcome to our humble show. Welcome to the FUJIN-Starbound Technology Expo. And welcome to the future!"

Hold for applause. What follows is a bit less dramatic, but no less intensely delivered. The Hylotl is intent on making a big show of this. The opening is plenty informative, though. Non-VIPs are directed to a wide variety of booths and stages, informed of wonderful events, and other similar suchlike. VIPs, on the other hand, are receiving an invitation to an exclusive hands-on demonstration of prototypes. The zen garden's rocks and sand slip beyond the stage, manipulated by some strange field or another, into wide walkways above the thronging crowds. The VIPs are politely invited to take some steps up onto the stage, onto the garden.

Moonfin just has one question to those who head up. "What shall we see first? Armor? Weapons? Mobility enhancement? Environmental protection? Networking? Our tools of heavy industry? Perhaps we might show you our advancements in manufacturing, or you might take interest in the transportation technologies, only a fraction of which were demonstrated on your way over? Might you take some interest in our private psionics demonstrations? Please," He says, in a friendly, charismatic tone. "The Expo is your oyster, my friends. So have what you wish from it." He's planning on leading the group around the Expo, to exclusive access to the areas, like a tour guide. If there's any cohesion in what the group wants to see first, he'll be leading them there first. Obviously Souji's opinion matters most but the rest of the group won't be going ignored. The associate Flotilla members are also invted up from their booths a bit, to come see what the core fleet's been up to themselves.
Alexis Maaka     As Alexis notices Weiss and Asche, she takes a moment to give the former a grin and a nod. "You're looking nice tonight, Weiss. Didn't figure you to be the fashionable type." She whispers, winking at the AI shell teasingly before she begins to pay attention to the presentation at hand.

She has to admit, Moonfin may be a pretentious ham sometimes, but the dude gets shit done when he needs to make an impression on folks, if not overdoing it depending on who one might ask.

She steps onto the garden proper, upon being invited as such.

"I'll take a whack at that bike Kotone's been working on, if it's all the same to you." the cyborg says after a moment. "George wasn't joking about you going wholehog with the presentation, Moon. Nice work."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa grins for a moment.

"I'm glad I had some help with the parts production from Rory."

The Fabber unit did speed things up quite a bit allowting for the easy creation of the non cyborg version of the bike.

"Oh I think it's going to be fun, I gone a little perhaps hammy on it but hey you need to get people's attention right?"

She waves to Weiss and wonders what she thinks of the whole tech expo.

<<Rory hows it going on your end? Ah I see we should talk about that later, still you should turn some heads with it.>

The main show's starting and she'll patch into a local feed to get a good view of things.
Souji Murasame Souji nods to Weiss as she arrivs, giving the Armiger a small bow in greeting. "It is good to see you. It looks like we are all making good use of the resources and capabilities present. The cross-pollenation of multiversal technology with Galiandan Magitech will allow for great... enrichment of our lives."

The obvious interest of Audrey is noted by Souji. "Stormfist. When you have a moment could you check on the progress of a few of the research teams here? I would like to get updates on their progress. This is not an urgent matter." Translation: You can go ahead and nerd out, Souji will let you pretend to do it on the clock.

Arytom addresses Souji as well. Of course he would be present, Valodjn has been instrumental in helping to get this space base designed and functional. "It is a view that one does not see on Galianda, that is very true." He comments. "The effort to establish this base will repay itself very well over time. I am looking forward to seeing Valodjn Mining capitalize on the opportunities present here."

The presentation begins with Moonfin dropping from the sky. Souji watches the arrival with anticipation, nodding. Style points are important with expos. He approves. He steps up when the paths arrange themselves, and he strolls through the zen garden, expecting the others to follow or not on their desire. He does not express an opinion on what to see first. Not immediately. He looks to the others present, willing to let them guide things for the moment.
Corona Arclite If there is one way to distract a machinist from poking at things, it's making a huge entrance to grab that attention. Which the amphibious member of the Flotilla does with style. Definately not a fish out of water here... well maybe he is, out of water that is, but he's not... you know what the saying means. Hmm. Energy shockwave when he hit the ground? Nice. And done without having to slam some weapon down in the process like she has to. Finman is putting on a show right from the start.

And then manipulation of the stage itself? These guys were not holding stuff back. It doesn't stop her from giving the walkway a good once over before actually walking up it. She's got a better view from up here... Oh look, there's Kotone and Rory. The foxgirl pulls her hat off and uses it to wave towards them to make sure it's noticable as she's walking towards the zen garden stage. "Hey pardners! I'll catch up with y'all later!" She picks up the pace to get to Moonfin's stage before the walkways are recalled.

Then pauses as she plops her hat back on her head and adjusts the brim properly. "... Would it be rude t'say wantin' to see all of the above?" Because that would be the honest answer.
Artyom W. Valodjn     Artyom wasn't exactly privy to tonight's script, or the details of its events. He certainly wasn't expecting Moonfin to turn what looked to be a low-orbital hotdrop into part of the show. The garden, though, is a very nice touch. "Fantastic work, that," he observes, idly straightening some of the creases the landing-shockwave had produced on his jacket.

He glances to Souji as he's addressed- and then nods. "Yes. You should have seen the workmen's faces when they arrived," the Titan suppresses another grin, "It took a little work to get some of them to stop staring off into space on company time."

He nods, then. "Of course. I'd like to speak to you about that, actually," Artyom rumbles conspiratorially. Or rather, as conspiratorially as an eight-foot-tall man can manage, "Regarding exploration of potential worlds."

The call goes out for expo-suggestions. Artyom considers for a moment, then voices his request. "Given the nautre of this enterprise," he begins, "I believe it'd be of interest to all the Galiandans present to learn of some of the advanced spacefaring technologies on display." Nevermind that he kind of wants to see them himself. "Or," he suggests, "If not that, then perhaps the manufacturing or exploration tools, instead?"

There are like... How many adventurers of some stripe here?
Audrey Stormfist     Audrey has to hand it to Moonfin, he knows his showmanship. The presentation pretty much cuts straight to the key matters at hand without losing the flair expected of an exposition. It's actually kind of refreshing, compared to those times when people draw explanations and presentations out to give history lessons.

The blessing from Souji to basically creep closer to the stage and make sure to get a close look at basically everything couldn't be more welcome, with a side-sprinkle of praise for her boss noticing her... well, behavior. She should not have thought she could hide her excitement from Souji in the first place, really. The man is, after all, the best Galianda can offer. Like others, it's likely she just wants to see 'everything in general'. With some emphasis on weapons.

But she will wait her turn, rather than provide more fuel to the crowd's anarchy. Instead, she addresses Artyom, curious.

"You mean to say we require spaceships? Hm. I suppose I cannot see a disadvantage to it. Perhaps we may finally discover what lies beyond Phoenix while at it, if there is anything at all."
Zwei     Weiss does the high society thing of hiding an amused smile behind an elbow-gloved hand at Alexis, clearly intent on playing into all the VIP stereotypes possible. "Really?" she says to Kotone. "I thought it was perfect!" Maybe it's just Zwei's strange tastes, but it seems to have very much liked Moonfin's flashy entry and choice of scenery. A zen garden is so much more tasteful than flashy pyrotechnics. Weiss even gives him a brief round of applause as soon as the opportunity presents itself. He's obviously worked hard on this, though it's difficult to tell what influences the others may have had on this, if it isn't an invention entirely of his own design.

"It's a rare circumstance that I'd view this kind of exchange of scientific ideas with such interest. Normally these things come down to someone copying off someone else, or in the rare cases that the two are evenly matched overall, swapping tips on certain areas of specialty, all within the same overarching framework and the same set of rules. With multiple universes and multiple sets of discrete, prioprietary physics however, these things become a lot more interesting~" Zwei makes its mind up in an infinitsmally small fraction of an instant, but Weiss pauses to pretend to think for the purpose of expression. "I think I'd like to see what you have to offer in the field of networking, followed or preceeded by manufacturing. I'd say we should save the private show until last~"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa grins that Al3eix wants to take a wack at the bike she's worked on, as she is listening in via the feed she has as she answers soem queswtions to a few non VIPs whose come to take a look. She also grins Moonfin was truly going all out tonight it seemed. She does gives Zwei a wave when she spots her again.

"Humm that's good to hear then."

She is starting to get why Zwei is having fun, all the world's colliding would lead to new things.

<So Rory don't worry too hard your learning faster and I'll be blunt, are more socially balanced than some humans I know.>>
Rory White     <<Waiting for a visitor!>> Rory sends back, while the eyes of her and several of her drones are watching the fantastic show being put on by Moonfin! As always, he's conflicted about all of the commercialized aspects, but... gotta start somewhere, huh?

<<And participating in a show that's meant to increase business is a conflict of interest.>>

Or she sees it as one, anyways!

One of the drones returns Corona's wave. The most hman-looking Servitor bot. It has a sort of... adaptive tread bottom and a kind of glowing plate for a face with emoticons for expressions. As in, its expression actually looks like ^_^ right now!

    Weird.
Starbound Flotilla     "I told you, Alexis. There is no show like a Hylotl show." Moonfin says, giving a quick, smug smirk. "I see you have some interest in the transportation. I'll be happy to oblige." He shakes his head and laughs politely at Corona. "Not in the least, ma'am. I'll be happy to show you them all before we're done with the night." And Artyom receives a nod. "I'll be happy to show you them. I believe we can start with some demonstrations from Ms. White and Ms. Yamakawa. That should allow Miss Weiss to get a look at our manufacturing as well." The end of the presentation is busy being punctuated by fireworks going off above. There's a lot of drones on display tonight too, so the Flotilla starships shift their spotlights away from the VIPs to the drones, letting them get shown off as if they're part of the show too. Moonfin leads the group off, walking with a dignified sort of step, making sure to put on the most confident display possible. "This is the first technology we have to offer. Patterned structure conduction. A home from dust, and many other features, my friends! Construct something once, gather and store its pattern, and its materials, whatever they may be -- even sand -- can be forced into shape on the same land, if you have the appropriate generator. Where once, teams of geomancers might have spent hours regularlyif something like this needed to be done, now just one worker with enough sorcery and materials can do it, once per faciility" Clicking a button on his Matter Manipulator, something is wirelessly activated -- Asche will get the chance to feel it activating -- and the rocks of the zen garden begin to be forced into the shape of walkways off of the stage and over the thronging crowd below, off towards the destination. The transportation displays!

"For as long as the generator receives their power, you will never see decay. And if you need the facility gone for a time, simply deactivate it, in whole or in part! What you connect to it will return to its natural state, until you activate the generator once more. The perfect solution for business interests seeking to keep a facility impenetrable; your facility can even appear be gone, until you need it, and resist all decay and assault as long as you have the sheer quantitiy of MP you need to counter it. I am sure you will soon find geological magic among your workforce much more profitable." It would seem this is the first technology Souji will gain access to. Facility cores!

Rory will recognize that the group is headed to where the Starbounders helped her do the required orbital assist maneuvers to land her ship. Some kind of massive display has been set up around it in the meantime, huge holographic signs indicating the robotic assembly processes going on. It would appear the Starbounders have decided to use Rory's ship as a live demonstration of their ship engineering, and give her that upgrade George promised her a while ago! Meanwhile, Kotone is going to get a visit from the group as well; Moonfin has his own demos to give related to her, but first he leads them to Rory White's ship. The large ring of structures normally around it are currently severed off and put to the side, to demonstrate some of this, while a mass of robotic arms is currently in a vast array around the ship. "Miss White?" He asks, over a radio. "Might you be so kind as to jam to your ship here? I feel it is likely a good perspective for you, as you demonstrate our spacefaring technologies. Please let us know when you are ready to initiate the upgrade."
Souji Murasame It's hard to not notice Audrey's love of electronics. Perhaps he is finally throwing her hard work a bone. Her nerding out goes generally unnoticed for the moment. Valodjn causes Souji to nod again. "There will be many unusual sights in the future for them. They will need to make sure to stay focused when they are not on break. If you wish to assemble an exploration team, however, I would approve such actions. If we can gain exclusive access to that level of materials, we can quickly outstrip our competition."

Souji listens to the explanation of how the facility core system works, and he rubs his chin speculatively as he considers the value of this discovery and how it can be used.

He nods. "I can think of a few projects where this would be useful even now." He responds. But that isn't even the first main presentation, but a tech that is used to show them around to the other technologies. He walks with the others, his hands folded behind his back as he looks over to Rory and considers what this demonstration will be.
Rory White     "jamming away...!" Indeed, Rory's ship is pretty darned big. About 150 meters long, even with each of the four 100 meter-long rotating passenger booms hacked off, it's far larger and unfortuately, clunkier than the Core Fleet's being shown off in the skies above.

One of the drones near it comes to life however! A holoprojector switches on, projecting a half-scale version of Rory near one of the access hatches! Hands folded!
Artyom W. Valodjn     "I wouldn't want to be out there in the void without a ship," Artyom says to Audrey. "And exploration beyond Phoenix is one of the motivators, yes. I've always wondered what was out there... But besides that, it would be helpful to have a vessel with which we could explore all these worlds." And there are a lot of worlds.

Souji gets his attention, then. "Indeed," Artyom replies. Souji's assessment is quite accurate, of course. But it may be hard to take the adventurer out of a Galiandan. "I'll make sure to keep a close eye on them. Of course, I expect that they'll get used to it all in due time." He pauses-- and then chuckles. "Yes, I would quite like that," Artyom continues, "There is so much to see out here, yes? And those instant-structures will be very helpful."

Artyom is imagining entire mining operations being set up overnight. It makes him positively giddy. You can tell because he's actually paying attention to everything.

As Rory begins doing his thing, Artyom inclines his head towards Moonfin. "Those instant structures," he says, curiously, "Could they be activated semi-automatically? Say I'm building a train from one point to another, but I only want to maintain a certain length of track to conserve resources. Could a system of these devices construct and deconstruct segments of track while the car is on the move, provided we could supply them with enough power?"
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite follows after Moonfin, though she keeps looking back and down at the pathway they are walking over. That would be a neat trick for keeping mines closed from thieves, but by the sounds of it the power requirements are pretty high. A cool idea though. Would be nice for the sites that can affort that much energy output.

"Hey, Moonfin? What about, instead of one structure, it was on something more segmented? Say, a network, so you only have to activate which modules you need to use at that time? Sounds like it would be a nice compact way of hidin' them until needed, and not have to move them 'round a lot if they can just come and go." Then Artyom suggests using it with train track, she nods her head eagerly. "Yeah, somethin' like that! Exactly like that."

Though after her questioning and rambling a bit she quiets down when it looks like they're getting to the next display. She might have to ask Rory about those bots some time too."
Starbound Flotilla     "Entirely correct, Mr. Valodjin, and Mrs. Arclite! While the structures require an original basis upon which to work, small sections of it can be selectively activated, rather than keeping all of it active at once. Build an entire rail line, but use merely a tiny fraction of its bulk material cost!" Moonfin nods, eagerly, and positively. "With one generator for each train, you can cut your maintenance and your materials costs down to fractions of fractions, and while manufacturing such lines would still take the same amount of time, they function for a theoretically indefinite time and suffer no wear."

Rory White's ship is suddenly used as a demonstration. "Starbound Flotilla aerospace manufacturing techniques are the pinnacle of speed and efficiency." Moonfin says. "As my associate George will shortly demonstrate, our manufacturing techniques may carry great expense, but you and your investors will find that the infrastructure we can develop will manufacture crafts at high efficiency within a span of hours. An associate member of the Flotilla, Miss Rory White, finds herself in possession of a ship that cannot take off or land; limited exclusively to space, such technologies are useless to the modern inhabitant of Galianda."

With a flourish, he presents George, who is at the controls of the massive set of robotic arms, sitting like someone at a pipe organ. "For the modern airship of Galianda, no longer will they be limited to one side of the atmosphere when they leave to take flight in the Extraverse, just as this ship was limited to the other. You saw our finished products on your way in. Now, see their assembly. The Starbound Flotilla in collaboration with the FUJIN Institute is proud to present the Aerospace Retrofit Array. Through this method, any modern craft can be converted, in a matter of mere hours, into a craft that is as spaceworthy as it is airworthy. Adaptable, powerful, swift; anything from emergency conversions to fleet-building is possible. When the technology is refined, cheap factory-scale conversions or ground-up manufacturing will be no object."

Moonfin gestures to Rory. "Miss White. How are your systems?" He hopes to have the ship itself speak, of course. At that moment, the arms lunge in, slicing and rewelding elements from the "dismembered" ship and compacting its structure effeciently and effectively. Wiring is rearranged with smaller arms while massive hull plates and shielding are shifted about with heavier duty structures, quickly and efficiently. Dazzling holo-displays and lights make the whole reconstruction into an incredible show. "Miss White, for her own part, has worked to develop a Mognet converter. A prototype of this can be found now; if you'll connect to our local wireless network, you'll be able to monitor the activities of my friend George here with latency at or below fifty milliseconds for bandwidth at this level, with further development refining it to negligible speeds. Please, if you have any interest in our manufacturing processes: Connect, and understand even more deeply. That's not the only way we've implemented our friend's considerable networking genius!"
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite considers that as she stops to watch the machinery work on Rory's ship. "Usin' the previous example Moonfin, would it be possible for the generator and such to be on the train itself? So itself can activate which tracks it needs and deactivate 'em once it's passed, instead of relyin' on a second outside controller to turn 'em on and off?"

At the mention of wireless observation she huhs, reaching into one of her belt pouches and pulls out what at first looks like a metal pocket cigar case. Though when she flips it open it reveals a fair sized portable screen and speaker on one side, and several small dials and switchs on the other side. It's not entirely clear how they work as settings but they're what she uses to get on the local network with a bit of fiddling. She's still getting use to having wireless communication access so -easily- regardless of where she goes, that in itself is marvelous.
Rory White     NO DOUBT RORY IS RECORDING ALL OF THIS.

Because it'll be one hell of an XP to show off later!

Once she sees what George is up to, she indeed jams into the ship's Cyberbrain and starts up its own prepared Holoprojectors! A much bigger version of Rory's avatar appears above the ship - two or three times bigger than any ordinary person, just floating and looking down on the proceedings!

"OH, oh...OH! AMAZING! It can be done this quickly?!" Nobody told HER /this/ was going to happen quite this way. She is FAR more than genuinely amazed!

"...All systems are operational! Wow! I was expecting at least a few hours...! All systems green!"
Grant Mason     Running a little late, none the less, Grant Mason has finally managed to make it to the expo. It can take a little while to ensure that all the systems on the Adamant Golem armor are up and running.

Being that he can be a mobile display, he's walking around in the armor in the event someone is interested in looking it over. He's not much of a tech minded person himself, but it's still Murasame-Zaibatsu designed, so it's a perfect fit for the expo.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa has been doing the small talk with various people, she doesn't even really consider her self a major part of the show really. However she watches as Rory gets to work and she can't help smile glad her friend is getting a chance to show her stuff. She takes note of the whole show has been pretty enjoyable and she's got some very odd questions from some of the natives of Souji's world. Given when she brings up there is no mana or magic involved in any of the things she has for show. This also ends up into a very basic lesson on how her world works. She looks up to Rory as the show reaches even more attention grabbing heights.
Artyom W. Valodjn     Artyom's grin widens as Moonfin's explanation goes on. The potential here is... Staggering. Mind-boggling, even. He can think up dozens of applications for compartmental structure assembly- and the starship conversion technology is going to make introducing Galiandans to space travel so much simpler. There are dollar signs rolling through Artyom's brain.

The amount of profit that can possibly be made is just... sort of ridiculous.

"How easily can these technologies be adapted on the fly?" Artyom asks. "If I needed to install a new component on-market, or if I wanted to lay the groundwork for tunnel-supports for a deep-earth mine," he elaborates, "Would I need to produce new operational patterns for either machine?"
Starbound Flotilla     "Absolutely, Mrs. Arclite." Moonfin says, grinning and nodding to Corona. "That was what I had intended, certainly. For as long as such a craft's generator is functioning and unharmed, it should carry with it all the infrastructure necessary. Information is power, and in this case, information will be the way it acts upon the infrastructure that AMATERASU can provide." He makes a broad gesture down to their feet. "As you see in our walkways, partial construction is a very flexible technology."
Starbound Flotilla     Corona gets a good look at the process of assembling Rory's craft. Her wireless interfacing, as well as that of any others, will find that there are, in fact, two interfaces, one for Mognet, and one for standard wireless internet. They are both working perfectly in tandem, with some minor delays accounting for Rory's still-in-development conversion software and hardware. It's clearly been scaled up to the entire convention, though, very effectively. And what she can get from this is a whole lot of very impressive ship specs, among other tidbits of interesting manufacturing processes (patent pending).
Zwei     There are good reasons why Zwei had signed on with the Starbound Flotilla. Tonight is one of them. Though ostensibly using purely scientific principles, observable and repeatable to anyone of any other universe, their technology accomplishes things that would be normally be impractical in the extreme from Zwei's understanding of unified physics. The matter manipulator is the most flagrant example of this, but the talk of these 'generators' has an enormously disproportionate amount of Zwei's considerable capacity for attention invested in it. Asche is already well into the process of scanning the generator he is posted at by the time Moonfin begins explaining what they actually do to Weiss, who makes the effort of making her appreciation show visibly on her face. "I'm afraid I can't postulate too much without concrete figures on conversion of standards between MP and joules, but I assume you're aware that you've developed the single best way to expand into Galianda's more dangerous, untamed regions. Quick and affordable construction is, as a rule, not up to the task of holding off monsters and harsh environents. Bravo!" Zwei is already going nuts on calculating the possible outcomes of this invention being introduced into Galiandan societal development.

Souji's and Artyom's discussion of exploring 'beyond phoenix' doesn't go unheard. That right there is a great big check mark on the Adjudication Index. Interest in interstellar travel. Truthfully, Zwei has no idea if anything even /exists/ beyond the stand-in for the sun in their world, but it would certainly like to know the answer. The speed at which the Starbounders retrofit the Cognizant Odyssey is certainly impressive, but Zwei is already fairly familiar with atmosphere to orbit transitional mechanics, and so Weiss focuses on the mog to binary conversion system instead. This is /exactly/ the kind of thing she came here for. Rory now holds one half of the keystone of revolutionizing Galianda. Zwei itself holds the other in secret. /This/ train of thought, Weiss does not reflect. Only mild fascination as she immediately connects to the mognet stand-in. "If nothing else, I'll fund this one myself~"
Alexis Maaka     Alexis watches with some interest, her eyes widening as she observes Rory's demonstration. Her optics whirr and narrow for a moment as she notices how familiar the robotic arms look.

George really did pick the labs clean during that Izunagi job, holy shit.

She can't say she can really understand the heavy science talk, beyond cheating and using a series of database entries to put together a cheatsheet that 'subtitles' whatever Zwei and company are saying. Having a computer in one's head is useful that way.

Otherwise, she just remains quiet and remains in wait for the bike.
Starbound Flotilla     Grant Mason's attention is going to get caught by a robot woman wearing what appears to be a set of medieval armor with shimmering, rippling black surface elements, speaking in synthetic monotone. "Cheerful. Greetings, Mr. Mason. The VIP group is currently heading around the Expo. Would you like to join them? I believe they will be at this demonstration area soon." She's calling out, of course, from a stage with several large mocked-up attack arms wielding baton-like things. "Curious. The Starbound Flotilla has developed some armor that we could use your help in demonstrating when the VIPs do get here, would you like to assist?"
Souji Murasame Grant makes an excellent showpiece. He might also be excellent to show off some of the Starbounder's designs later. Souji considers the rewiring and transfer of Rory's avatar with a silent observation of neutrality. "The challenges of creating a connection between the MogNet and more common networks in the Multiverse have been an ongoing problem. I look forward to discussing them with you in detail." He comments to Rory, nodding. It's clear that he, too, sees how this could affect Galianda as a whole.

But then, Souji and Zwei seem to share trains of thought fairly frequently. What that says about Souji or Zwei, remains to be seen.
Starbound Flotilla     The massive array of arms is currently busying itself with lowering the FTL engine into the structure, inserting the peripheral device securely. This is another semi-magical device necessary for FTL to work. Moonfin turns to Artyom. "The Flotilla prioritizes results, swiftly and reliably. We will not waste the valuable time of clients on half-finished developmental stages. Investing in the FUJIN-Starbound initiative is an investment in the future, but more than that, it's an investment in the present. Instantaneous adaptation requires a skilled user for the devices we create, but it is quite possible, with appropriate expense." That is to say, significant. "The Flotilla itself prides itself on swift and /immediate/ adaptation. Production of operational patterns, on the other hand," An easygoing gesture form the fishman. "Is as easy as building normally, naturally, and performing a simple scan. The average workman should have no trouble with it."
Rory White     One would expect that Rory might be very well utterly enamored and obsessed with what George is up to regarding her ship!

    And she totally is.

For a good minute or two she has forgotten that she can be in MANY PLACES AT ONCE!

But then one of her drones comes alive again and heads Alexis Maaka's way. "It's my first time at anything this big and flashy! Moonfin's putting on quite a show. What do you think of it all?"
Starbound Flotilla     "You aren't quite spaceworthy yet, Miss White, but you will have your FTL engine soon." Moonfin says, bowing to her. "Thank you for agreeing to our demonstration, and I hope you find your new design agreeable. Your teleporter, Flotilla tech interface, and FTL engines have yet to be integrated properly, but should be easy to complete within thespan of the hour."
Grant Mason When the robotic female comes up to him, the big armored Titanic man smiles, though she can't see it, "Sure, I'll go join them." He replies, as he looks for where the rest of the VIP group is at.

At the second question, he hmms a bit, "Oh sure, I'd love to help you guys out. Just let me know when it's time and I'll help you out however you need."
Alexis Maaka     Glancing at the drone, Alexis nods. "He's got an eye for the dramatic, that's for sure. I gotta give him props for putting all this together. Kinda reminds me of home, at least when things were actually kinda entertaining." She says.

"Y'know, bread and circuses to keep people's minds off the crap the company was pulling." the redhead adds. "Though I'm sure you know that already, given what you probably gleamed." She leaves it at that, content to just enjoy the show.
Starbound Flotilla     "But of course. We are frontier settlers, Mrs. Weiss." Moonfin bows again, grinning smugly. "It would not do for us to simply construct something if the harshness of our frontiers would destroy it easily. These technologies are developed with one goal in mind, and one only: Allow the Zaibatsu to lead the way, on land and at space. Only a fool squeezes from what he has. A wise man finds what is unclaimed and claims it." Of course, the generator itself is somewhat expensive and vulnerable. But for Souji, expense is no object, at least.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite just lets out a low impressed whistle, both at Moonfin's reply and at the text flickering by on her screen. The thing has that blocky green text on black screen look of older computers, but it's perfectly readable otherwise. "That's all mighty spetac'lar no matter what sorta tech yer into..." She pauses a moment, then ehehs softly as her tail flicks a few times. Trying to not get too giddy at all the fancy displays.
Audrey Stormfist     One could have spotted Audrey just restlessly pacing around the stage to get better angles every other minute. This is unusual to those who know her but don't spend large amounts of time with her-- turns out the cold, professionalism-obsessed little lady has a teen side like everyone else. Instant buildings made of anything whatsoever as long as they're powered? Instant ship upgrades into spaceships rather than needing to develop the spacecraft technology itself? Dear god yes.

But naturally, Grant's display gets the most immediate interest. New armor, huh? Sign her up... but also: "What of weapons? Now that I think about it, I haven't seen you make extensive use of weaponry, though I must admit those Matter Manipulators are impressive." But, not weapons, sadly!
Starbound Flotilla     "The bandwidth and latency issues are notable, certainly." Moonfin says, giving a rather sly sort of smile to Souji. "However, with enough financial resources dedicated to the task, and an appropriate expense conveyed to the customer's part, you should find no trouble in scaling this technology up, and finding a great deal of profit."

Moonfin is basically blatantly advising Souji get on this technology and then charge a bunch per gigabyte.
Artyom W. Valodjn "I see, interesting," Artyom says with a couple chinstrokes-worth of hmm-ing. "So you still require a worker to build a structure... But once that's done, you could feasibly have dozens of copies of that structure." His eyes flicker towards Souji. "And if you were to use those copies to make a modular structure, which can in turn be scanned... Well, that's an interesting application, isn't it?"
Starbound Flotilla     "Polite. This way, please, sir." Seft, the robotic lady, is guiding Grant to... Stairs? Made out of pebbles? Yes, it's like a zen garden's surface. The stairs are rapidly assembling under her feet while she guides him up. "Just up here, onto the walkway." It seems like there's a self-assembling walkway above the crowds! It's where the VIPs have been walking. She's going to lead Grant over to the main group here...
Rory White     "You're rebuilding the entire thing faster than any factory I know of could do it and you expect complaints about how spaceworthy it is?" Rory's both bemused and confounded at once, if that were even possible. Really, she's ECSTATIC and the holo-avatar watching George has taken on a startlingly childish bouncing display of jubilation!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa has been listening to this and she's curious about how that is gone she's found her own way to handle that but it's not really good for the multiverse at large. Still she has to wonder once the free flow of information is going to go on. She wonders about Kyra's own effors and then watches Moonfin, ya they got a talent as a pitch person that much's is clear.

She also watches now at the speed that the Starbounders are working at, it's pretty impressive to see it no matter how many time she does.
Rory White     Rory's Drone, next to Alexis, takes on a very sad face. It's totally an emoticon :( though.

Displayed on a bright LCD panel.

"Even though I'm based on human neural architecture, I find behavior like that impossible to understand..."
Grant Mason Letting Sef lead the way, Grant makes his way up the weird self assembling steps, "That's amazing." He says, though he's surprised when they're also able to hold his weight, and the weight of the armor.

Soon he's joining the rest of the VIP group, "Hope I didn't miss too much." He says, as he joins up with the group, "Ran into a little snag trying to get here."
Starbound Flotilla     Audrey asks about weapons! "Ma'am, you will find them quite appealing. Perhaps you might assist us in their demonstration, in fact. We have developed something that you may take a particular sort of interest in. I would be quite happy if you would be so kind as to demonstrate some of our weapons for us."

Moonfin brings the group towards the weapons display areas. Admittedly, most of the things on display are large melee weapons, not anything like the Stormfists. There's also a few large targets on a stage, and Audrey is being invited onto the stage itself for one of the scheduled demonstrations. "Now, Mrs. Stormfist. If you would, please," An intern hands him a cartridge, and then he hands it over to her: Standard ammunition for her hidden gun-barrels. "Load this, and fire at one of the available targets?"
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite uses a big ol' hammer along with her shotgun and stuff, so she can at least appreciate the assortment of melee weapons presented. Sometimes you gotta just bust some chops the old fashioned way -- blunt trauma.

But they're going to show off some sort of new ammo, by the look of it? This could be interesting.
Audrey Stormfist     It's with no small amount of glee that Audrey will hop on stage, pulling her sleeve up a bit to reveal a revolver cylinder just around the wrist-level of the otherwise sleek mechanical glove. It expands a bit-- evidently the gloves tend to shrink when not fully in use, but deploy into larger, actual armored fists if she really wants them to.

She slides one of the cartridges into the barrel, inspecting to see if it's etched with a Spell Matrix or if it's an actual bullet. The gloves have a basic Fire Matrix, for the purpose of launching projectiles, thankfully, but she'd admit she's fonder of permanent cartridges that provide new spells rather than get fired.

    Still.

A gift is a gift, and a new tech a new tech.

    "Of course."

She aims the right hand, glove deploying into its full size, complete with shotgun barrels at the top. The left hand is placed atop it, mostly in case of recoil. And she'll fire, obviously, not knowing what to expect.
Souji Murasame Moonfin's advice causes Souji to nod himself. "That would be the advisable thing. However, our portfolio does not contain much in the way of communications technology. The investment required to enter the market against Masoch Communications and other competitors would drain most of our profits. However, FUJIN has channels to create a secondary source of income through the use of royalties. Perhaps Masoch will be interested in negotiating to invest in this technology for a proper price."

Volidjn's wondering gets Souji to nod in response. "I was considering something fairly similar... among other things." He replies. "You are seeing the potential." Souji also sees hilarious opportunities for unique security designs.

And by unique security designs we me jerktastic traps.

He watches the weapons demo with interest, waiting to see what technological marvel they come up with this time.
Starbound Flotilla     Audrey will find there is no spell matrix, but rather some sort of technological two-stage system. She'll also find that when she fires the cartridge, it does not, in fact, fire any sort of slug. Instead, it seems to fire what looks like a blob of massive black shimmery metallic goop right out of the weapon at a midrange speed. As soon as it impacts the humanoid target, it sticks and remains connected by some form of cord.

"Now, when you are prepared, fire again, please. This is a two-stage charge." Moonfin says, bowing and standing back. "Remain braced and keep your arm prepared for a sudden tension. As a note, I advise striking for your impact point." And once Audrey does fire again, the shimmery metalic cord YANKS back into the barrel, drawing the target towards Audrey!

If she can land the guided punch on that black splatter where she struck it, she'll find the splatter turns into a sudden mess of black drill-like spikes coming out the back of the target in an array before the cartridge retreats back into the barrel.

"The Starbound Flotilla in collaboration with the FUJIN Institute are proud to present the Metallokinetic Induction array." Moonfin says, with a bow to the crowd and the VIPs. "For use in weapons, armor, and industry. If I might have assistance from, perhaps, Mr. Mason, in demonstrating the protective technologies, it would be quite appreciated."

This has the look of some of those creatures from Odin. Looks like this isn't ALL multiversal tech after all.
Grant Mason     At the request from Moonfin, Mason makes his way up towards the stage. The massive armor maneuvers up the steps and then turns around to face the crowd.

He admits he has no idea what they have planned, but hey, it's not like he'd back away from whatever they have in store, "I have no idea what they have planned, so this'll be just as much a surprise for me as it is for you guys."
Corona Arclite Note to self, guy with big mechanical(?) golem armor thing. Something to look into later. Definately later. Not now when they're going to be shooting stuff at him or something, Corona wants to see this.
Audrey Stormfist     Following the instructions with a nod, after inspecting the goop and fire combination, Audrey pulls her fist back and probably manages the fire-and-then-punch through raw instinct, although a bit sloppily for a first time. Better than someone without training would have managed, certainly-- TIMING, it's all about timing, and she didn't know what sort of timing to go for there. Next time she'll know.

But even without perfect timing one can see the sparkles in the KIRIN supervisor's eyes as she realizes she's just been handed a grappling drill punch bullet.

She'd whistle in admiration. "This is impressive, Moonfin. You've all been incredibly busy." She is a very happy Heritor slash Monk right now.

And quite impatient to see what Grant is about to show, too.
Zwei     Zwei considers personally intervening in the conversation between Moonfin and Souji dealing with the mognet, but eventually decides to let things stay their course. It's extremely important that Galianda's digital infrastructure collide with that of the wider multiverse, but bankrolling the initiative would be both totally transparent and detrimental to the continued development of the technology. If the balance of power is shifted away from the Zaibatsu in this particular field, so be it. A single, all powerful organization would be a less than desireable piece on the board besides.

Weiss regards the weapons with casual curiosity as Asche attempts to pry into the secrets of the mysterious terrain generator, actively monitoring it as it creates the stairs for Grant. He doesn't have the fine sensor equipment that Weiss does, and so his success will probably be fairly limited. His companion unit is meanwhile getting treated to another surprise. Having expected some manner of projectile marginally more destructive than Galianda's magitech firearms, she instead witnesses an impressive mastery over fluid dynamics and metallic crystal structure, even if purposed towards fairly barbaric ends. She gives a slow round of applause for both Audrey and whichever one of the Starbound crew came up with the idea. She is about to say something when Grant is called over, her eyes (and scanners) immediately roving over to the Golem Armour.
Starbound Flotilla     Asche is going to find that the terrain generator isn't necessarily generating things, but rather appears to be, roughly, searching for uncollapsed waveforms of universe-states wherein the environment adheres to the data it's capable of containing, some kind of quantum imprint that can't store manage to store data for living beings or atmosphere, and forcibly collapsing one or more of the available waveforms that fulfills these conditions. Damaging the environment obviously cuts down the available waveforms, meaning that searching and collapsing becomes more difficult and energy-consuming.

Notably this means that the generator will fail in scenarios where it is completely impossible for a facility to stay standing. Asche will also detect more than a little bit of Erchius in its mechanisms, specifically the pattern storage elements, explaining why it doesn't behave precisely like a rational piece of technology.
Rory White     First time Rory's ever seen this kind of weapon, let alone armor. "Tazer?" She posits - and is quickly proven WRONG. She gives the biggest blank look - or would, if the drone she has tagging along with the roving demonstration was that expressive.

Instead, everyone gets to see O_O

"...When did he work on that...?" Mumble wonder!
Starbound Flotilla     Grant now has Seft approaching him from the back. "KIRIN Personal Security Services is your leading provider of personal security. Demonstrations of how this might be used in custom equipment are fine, but you need to know how this can serve the average client. Nothing can match having someone at your back." Moonfin says, gesturing to him. "An assassin is nothing to ignore, and yet they often would insist on attacking from behind. That is why the Starbound Flotilla and the FUJIN Institute are proud to present another implementation of the Metallokinetic Induction Array: The Nightmare GOLEM armor."

Seft is busy installing some kind of exterior cover over the armor chestpiece's back. It's shiny and shimmery and black like the others. "Now, I will show you what the average assassin has to look forward to if they intend to remove /your/ client's protection." And Moonfin signals to one side. "Let us imagine some vile assailant attempted to exploit rear armor." Biteblade comes up onto the stage, a bit grumbly, holding what appears to be a throwing knife. The plant-person stands behind Grant and, with a heavy hefting toss, throws the blade at Grant's back. It obviously wouldn't stab through to the man inside under normal circumstances, but is rather meant as a stand-in for some assassin using some incredible technique at close range.

If Grant takes the stab in the back, the entire plate of armor is motionless for a moment, but then its surface swiftly turns into a huge mess of spikes perpendicular to its surface, and then purges off of the GOLEM armor, falling away with a hiss and sizzling on the ground.

"These ablative, reactive units of armor can be scaled up and down, tuned to your preferences, layered, and manufactured quite cheaply, requiring a minimum of consistent MP investment in non-demonstration models. The perfect product for the bodyguard of anyone with a fear of shinobi." Moonfin chuckles at his own joke. "Thank you, Mr. Mason. Additional armor units can be provided to you later, if you wish."
Corona Arclite Reactive armor isn't a new concept. Reactive armor that HITS BACK? Now that's pretty new. Could of been interesting if her tech didn't tend to be a bit big and obvious to pull it off, so Corona's pretty impressed by that.

Oh, motorcycles. Now we're getting to a topic she's immensilly familiar with. This out to be good.
Zwei     Zwei has to take a mental backstep or two at finding out the Starbounders are in possession of something like this. It had assumed that generator to be some manner of extremely precise, long-ranged, electromagnetic emitter using diamagnetic and paramagetic force to shape inert materials, using some kind of exotic power source to make the demands of doing so feasible. Instead, they have what amounts to a proto-TRANSIENCE drive, primitive in application but able to influence a comparably vast area for its size. It isn't quite sure how to feel about this revelation. Impressed? Confused? Threatened? Curious? Engaged? Perhaps a little hesitant that the Flotilla is willing to actually give this technology out for mere money.

Luckily, Weiss doesn't have to show any thoughts she doesn't want to, and so that furious mental deliberation goes completely unnoticed as the second demonstration commences, applauding the novel application of the technology of before; simultaneously interested in it, and the Golem suit itself. "Out of curiosity, which one of you came up with that? If it's you, then count me surprised~" she says to Moonfin.
Grant Mason The Golem stands there, unmoving while Seft attatches the extra armor to the back of the massive suit. Grant lets it settle in, and then waits for the attack. When the blade sinks in, the armor does register the hit, and the new armor reacts and launches the spikes out to destroy the 'attacker'.

"Wow!" Grant seems relatively impressed with it, after it falls off, "That was cool...So they're replaceable?" He asks, though when they offer to fit him with more of those later, he nods in response, "I'll look forward to getting equipped with a lot more of those soon. They'll have a hell of a lot of use."
Starbound Flotilla     "Now, before we show you industrial uses for these technologies, let's return, for a moment, to our transportation sector." Moonfin says, leading them back in the circular path along the rim of the show, over to Kotone's display, with its assortment of bikes. "Today, we have two technologies to put on display. The first, you have seen in action, but not known. We call this the MP Converter. Scalable to the size of one's pinkie, it can also scale farther up. For example, as a power source for a vehicle."

"For Galianda, batteries are an obstruction, an inconvenience to using Extraversal technologies. For all their life, their technology has needed no such inconveniences, and I'm proud to announce that those days are back, for Extraversal technologies as well. The Starbound Flotilla in collaboration with the FUJIN Institute are proud to present..." A passing intern, scheduled to walk below them, tosses a module up to Moonfin. It looks like some kind of heavy duty vehicular battery, with a neural design to the circuitry on it. "The MP Converter." He has brought the group now to Kotone. "For our first demonstration, I'll use someone less familiar with MP, and who is rather not magical at all. Mrs. Maaka, if you would, please? Take this, and plug it in at one of Miss Yamakawa's demonstration bikes, the electrical one, where one might find the power source. And then concentrate very hard while activating it."

Asiding, "Miss Yamakawa is an extremely adept vehicle engineer. The Starbound Flotilla currently has a great deal of interest in ensuring that her designs can be used as highly efficient force delivery systems in defense situations. If it is in your interest, Mr. Murasame, feel free to commission armored high-speed troop delivery variants, her designs are quite potent."
Alexis Maaka     Alexis is called upon as the motorbike is brought up. "I ain't married." She asides to Moonfin calmly, before she takes one of the keys offered up. "But this is a start, if you keep this up." Teasing aside, she grabs a helmet before approaching the motorbike itself.

She hops on, keying the ignition as it gives a low hum and her software hooks up with the bike's own onboard instruments. A little guide is provided, and she speedreads how to get the bike working while she makes herself comofrtable on the vehicle.

The bike itself purrs like a massive hunting cat, a thing of beauty to compliment to dangerous amazon riding it right now.
Kotone Yamakawa So she was up next for the show, with some help from Alexis this should go all right. She's got to go a bit crazy when she got access to technologies she couldn't get her hands on, back home due to being a civilian for the most part, or just plain not existing here. However now comes likely one of the biggest moments for her as a designer she's got a chance to get some notice and maybe even clients. Even if they don't want what she's got to show them they might want her to design something else. After all custom jobs or new designs is something she can do after all.

She's glad to have Alexis on backup on this one. She watches as Moonfin brings her into the spot light and she manages to keep calm and now freak out.

She nods for a moment as she says

"This model is made to be a high speed street bike which can also act as a data courier or just personal storage, it's equipment with a built in wireless server that can store."

She gives an citing edge drive space and connect speed for it's wireless functions.

"It can have both the AI and wireless features disabled by a mechanical cut off it needed in times of emergency. Additionally the AI can act as an auto pilot, navigation aid and assist accident avoidance. Additionally this version one can directly interface with if you posses the proper implants for direct control."

She gestures to the bike's twin.

"Given the nature of the multiverse it's sister model is also available for those who have no want or need for such implants."

There's only the slight performance loss due to no jacking system but other than that the specs on the two bikes match.

Also those with compatible mobile devices would get more detailed specs on the bike sent to them, from it's server at this time
Corona Arclite Good thing Corona still has her retro looking wireless device out, between the network and Kotone's explaination there is more than enough data to crunch. Which makes her hmm a bit, flicking an ear thoughtfully. "Nice for bikes, Koto. Ya ever think of doin' somethin' similar for offroadin'? I mean, less for speed, more for rugged terrain. Like on a four wheeler." She's just tossing out an idea for others here, she's already got her crazy contraption of a 'bike'.
Starbound Flotilla     The Starbounders have set up a nice demo track for the bikes. It's nothing unusual, just a loop of flat land. "As you can see, with this module in place, even Extraversal technologies become easy to use, by those with magic and those without. The problem of outsiders having incompatibilities with your technology, and the problem of natives having incompatibilities with outsider technology, can be a thing of the past." Moonfin says, bowing. Well, no. You still need a person feeding a constant stream of psionic/MP power, so until a proper battery is devised, it's not a good substitute. But tech expos are about pie in the sky nonsense, and so this will, it seems, need to be close enough.

"Maaka, if you'd like, feel free to go for a test drive while the rest of us move on, or simply do a lap. My associate Seft will come by to help you rejoin the group, if you wish to spend some time with Miss Yamakawa's wonderful creations."
Alexis Maaka     "Gladly." Alexis shoots a salute to Moonfin before she grins and undoes the kickstand for her new acquisition, the bike roaring to life as she guns the throttle.

The vehicle seems practically tied to her very mind as she manuevers it around the course provided, turning practically on a dime as she makes a run across the track. She definitely likes the new ride already, as the grin shows when she slows the bike down and pries her helmet off. Following with Seft, she lets the bike lie where it is for now until later on, rejoining the others.
Souji Murasame The MP Converter is something that is exceptionally interesting to Souji, and it shows. "Indeed. If we incofporate this device into any multiversal technology, we could connect them to our own power delivery systems or fuel them simply by using our own MP pools." This could be better than a typical electrical battery, possible. "I look forward to learning about the efficiency of the conversion."

The mention of AI causes Souji to nod. "Those are quality vehicles. I am sure they, or variants thereof, could find purchase in the current markets." He DOES sell vehicles.
Starbound Flotilla     "Now, for our second transportation technology. The Starbound Flotilla is not just about bringing you movement and personal transportation technologies from other creators and worlds. Our own should be shared as well, as much as we can." And Moonfin gestures dramatically here. "That is why the Starbound Flotilla has sought to bring its full suite of motion enhancement technologies to The Murasame Zaibatsu and to Ramuh. For Miss Yamakawa, our transportation expert, I believe this should be a particularly suitable demonstration. Miss Yamakawa, thank you for allowing us to demonstrate with Maaka and your motorcycle. Now, would you please accept these complimentary Mobility Enhancers?"

Another intern stops by, handing Moonfin an anklet and some kind of belt-like module, which he offers to "As someone we often give cause to have to rapidly flee various dangers, you will find the most use from this." The anklet and the belt are just holders for some kind of tiny module, presumably Kotone could properly install them on herself. "Please, put these on, and attempt to move swiftly or jump." He says, simply, making a presenting sort of gesture.

They are, in fact, the Dash and Double Jump techs that the Starbound Flotilla themselves have often made use of; presumably Kotone might recognize this when she tests them. Moonfin, of course, turns back to the others. "While there are techniques, I am quite sure, that emulate many of these effects, my understanding is that they're not universally accessible nor convenient to independently activate. Convenience and ease of use is our product in this particular technology."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite raises a brow a bit. "Tarnation, you can do that with just that little bit of technology? Considerin' I'd have to use big ol' steam jets strapped to my boots iffen I wanted to do something like that, I reckon that's still darn well impressive that ya get the same effect with so little space!" Which more or less confirms the whole 'not universally accessable nor convenient' aspect of Moonfin's exposition.
Rory White     "Convenience and ease of use is a founding principle of works I approve of!" Rory chimes. Her synth has finally caught up with the main group.

She's here, of course, to watch her friend trying out all of this tech, now that she's finished reviewing all of the COOL BIKENANIGANS!
Starbound Flotilla     "And now we can return to the work of heavy industry." Moonfin says, bowing and gesturing off to the side towards a show-floor of massive industrial tools. These are HEAVY things, some twice the size of a human. But what Moonfin hands Corona is a bit more reasonably sized. A giant hammer, glowing gently with blue lines over its surface. "You have an appreciation for our technology, I can tell. You are correct, we are quite effective at using what space we have. We are, after all, people who deal with space on a very regular basis." Ugh what a SHITTY JOKE.

The handle of the hammer looks like it's got some kind of lever-action thing where a cartridge should be loaded, while the head of it is split into two parts, like a Matter Manipulator. "We understand you're something of a frontier settler, correct?" Moonfin says. "I believe you are best suited to use this particular piece of prototype technology. The Starbound Flotilla in collaboration with the FUJIN Institute is proud to present the Mining Hammer." He gestures off to one side, casually. "I believe you'll find this particularly informative." He says, handing her a cartridge to load into the handle. It's got some kind of dial on it, something she can tune to specific resonant frequencies. "Please: Strike the Earth!" He grins. "Or, rather, the moon. And then tune your cartridge to what you find."

Corona should find that using the hammer will release a seismic shock, but that it'll also provide the resonant frequencies of all things nearby and connected. There's some kind of large metal mass in the distance, buried deep, popping up on the sensors, and... On Corona's Resonant Hearing, of course. Once she tunes everything, the single-use Resonance Cartridge should cause the hammer's multi-stage shockwave to make the mass of junk metal errupt out of the Moon dust like a geyser. It's a hammer that can be tuned to resonant frequencies to affect things with its impacts selectively!
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite opens her mouth to comment on the terrible SPACE joke, but the hammer being handed to her quickly distracts her from that. She turns it over a couple of times in her hands as Moonfin is explaining for her and the audience alike. Then a big almost goofy grin spreads across her face. "Oh now you are takin' my language."

She takes the cartridge, loads it into the handle, and gives the hammer a good thump to the ground. People paying attention may notice the way her ears shift forward at the vibration feedback, but seeing as this is a demonstration of the device itself she plays along with actually checking it and then adjusting the module's dial.

The sets it down for a moment and laces her fingers together to crack her knuckles much like someone warming up for the hit-the-bell game at a carnival might do. "Guess this'll just prove how accurate it is, he he he." Takes the hammer in both hands, lifts it up, and swings it down nice and solid to really pound the ground this time.

The rumble is almost audible, and then a moment later with a *KWOOM* the metallic 'target' pops right out of the ground!

"Hot damn!" Lifting the hammer again, Corona rests it in her typical place on a shoulder. "Don't even matter how strong ya are when it can do that!"
Starbound Flotilla     The Starbounders then, at last, reach the core of the visit to today's site. They reach the mining operations display. Huge columns of glass tubes full of a luminescent purple fluid are all about, as are an assortment of engine designs, holo-displays discussing energy efficiency, and similar matters. "Now, of course, we find the true reason for the AMATERASU mining site on this moon." Moonfin makes a broad gesture, leading the group off the walkways and onto the floor of the pavillion where this is being shown.

"Erchius, my friends. It makes ships go, it fuels reactions the likes of which are incomprehensible by the human mind, and it is, to say the least, valuable beyond compare. And its most potent property can only be understood by the true connoisseur." A FUJIN researcher comes by, right on schedule, carrying a large tube of the stuff. "When processed appropriately, it can be rendered harmless for civilian use in unusual fuel technologies. While the energy it generates may not be compatible with MP-based technologies at this time, its other uses are much more notable. For example: Its ability to provide specific, subtle alterations to the laws of physics in accordance with specific application of MP or other psionic influences to it."

Then he beckons to Weiss. "But don't take my word for it. Mrs. Weiss?" Well she's technically a partner with Asche, so. "Please, over here, if you would. You're the only one who can provide the most reliable of data on this subject, as well as utilize it appropriately." He hands the tube off. "This particular mixture has been developed for maximum psionic reception. I believe it is also compatible with the Transience Drive you once described to me. Attempt to entangle with it in a way which is impossible." With a smug grin. "I recommend attempting to entangle with it in a way that would only be possible if the universe obeyed specific rules that might give you a healthy increase in power output, for example. For best effect, you may find it easiest if you drink of it."

If Weiss does down the thing, Zwei will find that this specific brand of Erchius Mixture should be receptive to attempts to entangle with it as if Zwei were attempting to do so in a universe obeying different laws by temporarily adjusting the laws of reality to a slight degree around it. Not as much as a full-blown Crystal would, and it seems like it's evaporating as it does, but it would seem that the Erchius Draught might be a slightly effective way to break some of the physics ceilings of Zwei's laws of physics.

Assuming, of course, that they have the ability to swap entanglement modes to ways that depend on false laws of physics.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite .... has to try really hard to not snicker at the way it sounds Moonfin is using the term 'entangle with it'. So she distracts herself by looking over the hammer again. At least until the actual demonstration starts.
Zwei     By now, Zwei is a little bit boggled at the sheer number of inventions the Starbound Flotilla has either come up with on their own or knew of already and turned into marketable material, not quite sure which of the two possibilities is more impressive. Furthermore, each object of display seems to have a certain person in mind, which brings to mind the question of whether the VIP list was already written long before the event was actually conceptualized. There's honestly more than Weiss can keep up with, being of a high enough level of sophistication that she is unable to pin down the obvious way each item works in the timeframe that she has to see it. It's actually a little intimidating, if incredibly exciting.

"Erchius. That's what they use in the teleporters, right?" she inquires, obliquely referring to the Holo incident rather than the teleporters used by the Flotilla's ships. It is entirely possible that this substance may be the lynchpin around which all of the Flotilla's universe's most exotic technology revolves around. It is also entirely possible that it might not actually be entirely from their universe. Contemplation aside however, there is absolutely /no way/ Zwei would turn down the prospect of experimenting it. With comprehensive knowledge of all classical physical laws, the most exciting thing to see is the physical laws of another universe, and thus making up its own laws sounds even more exciting. As Weiss goes through the motions of 'drinking' the dubious purple liquid, she goes through a mental checklist of possible permutations on reality, immediately having to cross off an enormous number that would either be impossible to see with human senses, or would kill everyone present.

As the liquid Erchius mingles into Weiss' systems, she holds her arms out at her sides, arms level with the floor as she engages TRANSIENCE entanglement with a three meter radius sphere around her. Patching together a physical simulation that runs off an erroneous assumption in gauge symmetry between electromagnetism and gravity, the resulting effect is that gravitons passing through the area now collide with atoms, instantly turning the spherical area into an incomprehensible mess of gravel, sand, moondust, and stray parts swirling around in chaotic zero-G patterns. Beyond satisfied with the result and starting to get her dress dirty, Weiss drops the effect after a few seconds, placing her elbow in her hand and her chin in her fingers.

"How much are you charging for it?"
Starbound Flotilla     "And so you see the value." Moonfin says, making a broad, 'there you go!' kind of gesture. "Zwei, if you would so kindly, provide some of your findings, and I expect that will be payment enough for another supply for now. The data will, I am sure, be quite appealing." He gestures to the VIPs. "To investors, to our employed scientists, and to Mr. Murasame himself. We offer it as fuel, as additive, and as many, many other purposes it can fulfill. With the help of the Starbound Flotilla, we give our assurance that its dangers can be minimized comprehensively and that it can be turned into a potent and powerful product for AMATERASU Heavy Industries, among other Zaibatsu businesses."

And then he heads back up onto the VIP platforms, but turns around and speaks to the VIPs from above. "That concludes the main events of our opening night tour. My time here is at a close and I have events I must oversee. But, I invite you to continue to peruse our displays, our shows, our demonstrations, and our products! The FUJIN-Starbound Technology Expo will go on for some time, certainly long enough to show all there is to offer to anyone skeptical of the Murasame Zaibatsu's newfound capacity to bring the best in Multiversal technologies to Galianda."

And then he bows deeply, straightens out his suit, and walks on back over the zen garden walkway to elsewhere. God he's a showy shit about this. Well, plenty of booths and shows and displays to nerd out about for a while.
