Scene #2003: Will You Ever Learn--Wait.. no... don't answer that

Dukemon X	Beelzebumon was perhaps long gone by now, or somewhere unseen, but really who knows! Yet there is Duke laying there on the ground in this crazy place, though to Alexis, he may be laying on the wall depending on how she enters, or maybe on the ceiling of another section of land mass.... Either way, the Guilmon X was out cold, he had few bullet wounds, some scuffed up scales, and a few cuts. Though he was slowly starting to come too, as his eyes winced a little as they tried to open. His tail flicking just a tad, as his body tried to recover from being pushed beyond its own limits.
Alexis	God Damn Distortion World and it's weird physi--err wait, it's the Gravity Badlands, not Giritina's pocket dimension. Same effect for the most part, really. Weird physics a little less disorienting when you're flying, at least, because it's already moving in three dimensions instead of two. So the Salamence she's riding on is only slightly put off by it, before reorienting towards the red and black form on one of the landmasses and swooping down towards it. "Well, it looks like he didn't get -completely- stomped into a pulp this time," Alexis mutters as she peers past the dragon's shoulders.
Dukemon X	Duke continues to lay there a bit as the much larger pokemon comes in. Those gold eyes open slowly as he sees the form swooping in and instinct tries to take hold. His eyes go wide and he yelps, he attempts to scurry to his feet, but grits his sharp teeth as pain reminds him of his injuries. This results in the Guilmon X flopping back over with his ear fins tucked back and him almost curling into a ball with his tail flopped over his muzzle. Oh how the mighty have fallen into a pathetic cute ball of red scales.
Alexis	Pathetic isn't the word she would use. Pathetic would be not trying at all. "Relax Duke, it's just me." Once the Salamence reachs the ground Alexis hops off his back and walks over to the digimon. "Looks like Beezlebumon is long gone already."
Dukemon X	Duke uncurls himself as he looks up as he hears Alexis voice, those ear fins also perk up, "Alexis?" He smiles faintly and then goes to get up, but he winces in pain as he does. His shoulder looks a bit nasty actually. "Yeah-- I guess he is..." Duke says as he looks around, "...I was hoping maybe he could give me a few tips and tricks, but it looks like the best way to solve it is to still run my head into the wall a million times before it drills in." Duke grunts and rubs his injured arm with his claws gently. "...even if it seriously smarts... mmm.."
Alexis	"I don't think he's much the instructing type... but if you learned anything from fighting him again, that's about the same thing," Alexis replied as she kneeled down next to the digimon. "Caddie?" "Syl?" A somewhat sleepy eyed looking Sylveon pokes her head out of Lex's golfbag/backpack. "Hand me the first aid pack would you?" "Sylv!" After a bit of rummaging around inside the pack is handed to her via the fairy-eon's ribbon like appendages. "Sylveon?" "That'll do, go back to your nap." But now you know how 'Caddie' got her name. "Let's get that shoulder wrapped up so you don't hurt it farther riding home."
Dukemon X	"I did learn something." Duke says as he doesn't fight Alexis as she goes to work for his shoulder, though he is amused by the pokemon in the backpack. "A few things actually... For myself, I really need to discover what I have lost in knowledge, because somewhere in there lies the information on how I remained in my Ultimate form." "He confirmed I was like him, that I could at one time... and he confirmed that..." This is where Duke seems to furrow his eye ridges as if trying to remember the exact wording and knowing he may not get it right on the money. "...that probably cause of my damaged data and great source of hidden energy, I don't know how to access... it is why I can't." Duke frowns a bit. "Then there was Yggdrasil..."
Alexis	"That you were an Ultimate unless you were worn down and devolved." Alexis gets the gist of it. That and she knows from her talks with Doran. But they had both agreed that these were things that Duke needed to find out for himself. "That does explain why you're able to jump up to them pretty easily, but not hold them yet. Your body... code.. whatever knows still, but not in a way that is completely compatible yet. There's still small but important bits missing." She pauses to bite the bandage off with her teeth, then stick the end down to finish the wrapping. "Every time it comes up Yggdrasil just sounds like a really terrible example of a 'god', super computer or whatever it really was."
Dukemon X	"I had a nightmare about, Yggdrasil..." Duke admits as his eye ridges furrow. "It was... a strange nightmare... felt like a real one, I mean, where... it was... strange... very strange... less memories and more... dream." The Guilmon X tilts his head gently, though winces a bit at the bandaid before he continues. "I only know it was him, cause I yelled his name to stop." "But he had... everything chained... Doran, Beelzebumon... you..." Duke lowers his head about then. "I was powerless to stop it, unable to do anything. It was like... I was watching him crush all of you and impale the very Multiverse." This is when Duke closes his eyes and grits his fanged teeth, a frustrated growl escapes out. "I couldn't stop /him/. I couldn't stop /any/ of it. I /wanted/ too..." Was those tears starting to slide down his face? They were--- he was crying as he talks. "...but he was to strong in my nightmare... he was to strong...and even though I screamed... and even though I wanted to fight back... I... I...."
Alexis	Alexis helps Duke back onto his feet once she's finished. "And that's why it is a nightmare." She gives the side of his temple a light poke with her finger. "Something in your brain remembers that Yggdrasil is bad news, and it's telling you that. By givin' you a worse case scenerio to hit the point home hard. Trust me, I've had my own share of nightmare problems over the years. They ain't real, but the brain knows that's the only way to make you sit up and take attention."
Dukemon X	When Alexis pokes him in the side of the head he winces a little, Duke pulling away, even as he tries to rub away the tears and pull himself back together. Be strong, is all he can really tell himself. "I just don't know what can be done if he is still alive... and if he does attack the Multiverse. Beelzebumon told me he created monsters that infected everyone... the virus... which is why we have the X Antibody." Duke looks down at his own claws, "...why I do... because... I got infected... I think." Those gold eyes then look at her, "But you are right... and I am scared of losing you and the others... and not being able to do anything." "But one day I'll be strong enough to fight... and protect... and I'll protect the other Exiles too. I'll protect them and give them guidance.. and... and... I'll be better then the Royal Knights, because I'll do my job... I'll do my job, like a sworn knight, and protect everyone who needs a shield." Duke says with a firmness in his voice, his eyes flickering with a blue light, though he then winces and wobbles a bit. "...but... maybe after some food..."
Alexis	Alexis snorts softly as she walks back over to her Salamence that's sat there patiently waiting. "While it's clearly a very big threat, there's no denying that... I think if it tries to mess with the Multiverse as a whole it's going to have a very big ass whooping come to it.... If it does come to fighting it, you're not going to have to do it -alone-, remember that." Though at the remark about food she outright laughs. "Some things never change! Com'n, let's get ya home and something to fill that bottomless pit you call a stomach."
