Orphen Korra is given the coordinates to a particular inn. He never actually left the world where he disappeared from the train. An emerald city, a city literally made of emerald rather than the place from the Wizard of Oz. It's all large crystal buildings cradled in the center of a mountain range that the train runs through. Golems of varying sizes, from 3 feet to 8 feet, all walk around not actually saying anything, though they do stare at each other as if communicating somehow. They don't really have much in the way of facial features, though some have glowing eyes that also vary in color.

They're not just one type of golem. Some are stone, others are diamond or ruby, a few gold golems, some golems made of tin cans.

The inn that Korra finds herself in looks like any typical inn she might find in some small town in her world, except it's made of emerald. The golems who sit at the bar drink some sort of glowing pink liquid from iron cups, while others sit at tables and stare at each other. The stairs are clear for her to simply walk up. Orphen is said to be at the last room to the left, with a little raised emerald button next to the door that one can press.

If she does, she'll find Orphen already beginning to climb out of the open air window, from his rock hard ruby bed.
Korra You know, it wouldn't have been so bad. But you see, before embarking on her little train adventure, Korra didn't do one tiny little thing that those she lived with at Air Temple Island (well, one person at Air Temple Island) felt was paramount. Korra didn't tell Tenzin.

'You're not ready!' 'You don't even know if this... sorcerer was a villain!' 'It wasn't even a Union mission!' 'You can't even airbend!'

Every little snap and jibe against her brought her down a little lower - or perhaps made her a little more upset. And maybe... well... maybe Korra snapped back. And that was what she felt the worst about. She /knew/ Tenzin only had her best interests in mind. But she just... didn't agree with how he was going about it.

So when she received that little message from the Tower of Fang, she purses her lips, and brings the envelope to her lips, tapping said envelope against her lips as she ponders her situation. Another moment, and her eyes narrow.

If she could bring back what he stole... perhaps every black mark against her would be alleviated somewhat.

AT THE GEMWORLD

Clinking against the gems underfoot, the claw-tips of Naga the Polar Bear Dog's claws dig into the gems somewhat. Korra, dressed as she was in her traditional South Water Tribe clothing (well - minus the heavy fur coat) was leaned forward, grasping the fur about Naga's neck, her eyes narrowed and fixated upon the sorcerer as he climbs out the window. "Hey you!" she calls. "Stop right there!" she says, pointing as Naga navigates around a slow-reacting golem.
Orphen "This is my room, you know." Orphen says as he turns around, holding his hands up. "I'm not sure what you are, but you cast spells faster than me. I already know that this will be a little tricky." He looks her over, as if to try and find some hint of what she is or can do. Though there really aren't any, well, except one. "I see why they chose you, though. I'm not sure how much you can cast, but you're a caster with hand to hand combat capabilities, right? I don't see women with a build like that every day."

He doesn't sound like he's complimenting so much as seriously observing, perhaps buying time. "The Tower of Fang is not the side you want to be on. Many of them have good intentions, and yes, they do many good things. But when it comes to an artifact like this, they're going to study it and someone -else- is going to get killed. Instead of locking it away. All because they want power."
Korra As the other one turns around, Naga slides to a stop, the slightly slick gemworld ground a bit harder for her to find traction on than soil. Not that Naga seemed to be terribly upset about that. Perhaps sensing Korra's intentions towards the other, Naga had her lips pulled up to show her teeth, and she was growling.

Ever hear a bear growl? Neither have I, but I'd imagine it's pretty scary.

Although Orphen had probably seen his fair share of weird monsters. Korra nontheless stands straight up on Naga's saddle, and does a little flip to one side, ponytail and body twisting in the air before she lands upon her feet, straightening her stance now. One foot backwards, one foot forwards, her left palm lifted and flat, facing skywards, her other hand held in a fist at her hip. A waterbending stance. "You always leave your room by your window?" she asks, lifting her chin up and gesturing back towards the Inn. "As for what I am?"

Korra can't help but manage a mild grin at that.

"I'm the Avatar."

Observations about her build and otherwise was disregarded. "So what you are saying, is that you have the facilities and otherwise to store this artifact properly? That you can handle it? Or that you can keep it on hand to wear from time to time, maybe melt a small village or two every once in a while."
Orphen "I'm trying to have a magical bunker built, where I'll keep magical artifacts away from people who would actually use them. The Tower of Fang can't -help- themselves. They want to study, poke, and prod at everything. I just want to keep this stuff hidden away. I've seen what happens when they... do what they do. So have they, but... they don't care!" Orphen sounds very sincerely passionate about that, almost angry, frowning as he stares down at the floor, then looks up at her. "This thing could cause an extraordinary amount of destruction. Even holding it has the risk of spontaneous combustion."

He reaches into his vest pocket, then pulls out what seems to be an ice crystal on a chain, the same chain that the artifact was hanging on. "I've put it into an ice stasis, and I plan to keep it in one for as long as I have it."
Korra "So that's why you're in the middle of a city." A beat. "With a big, nuclear fire amulet," says Korra.

"...okay, that sounds reasonable." Another beat. "So why don't you give me both the amulets, and I'll make sure they're taken care of."
Orphen "This is the same amulet." Orphen explains, poking it with his finger. "I cast a spell on it, because only a moron would carry it bare handed."

He looks around, and takes a moment to think. "The Tower of Fang are watching me, they'll probably pounce in here if you fail. I'll give you the amulet if you promise not to give it to them." There's a pause, and he tosses the amulet in her direction. "The spells hould last long enough for you to get it somewhere safe. I'll go -with- you, because if they realize that you aren't giving it to them, they -are- going to attack you."
Korra Korra tosses the amulet back towards him, her eyes narrowing. "Let's just... say that you are telling the truth," she says. "I'll let you keep it for now, but I will be keeping an eye on you," she says.

With that, she hops on Naga, and rides off, away from the little hotel in the gemwold.
