Kyle Katarn     It doesn't take long for Kyle to find his way to Njorun's Ring of Philosophy again, after a little bit of direction from friendly staff posted just to guide lost personnel. As he steps into the room, sipping some sort of energy shake, he keys up a simulation to resemble the Jedi Praxem's training hall, something familiar.

From what he remembers of Zephyr WIndstar, he liked the kid just fine. She held her own against Dark-Siders without a problem, which was enough for Kyle to hold an interest in the kid's skills and abilities. The fact she's supposedly gotten stronger since they last met is exciting enough.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr follows Kyle in after a few minutes, striding with purpose. She's already in her Barrier Jacket, and has the large Battleax form of Divine Wind resting across her shoulders. She looks around the holographic representation of the Praxum hall, and grins a bit. "I remember this from last time I was on Yavin IV." she remarks, coming to a stop and looking Kyle up and down.
Kyle Katarn     Kyle's finished with his shake by the time Zephyr gets there, and he nods to her arrival with a little grin. "Hey kid." The empty cup is casually tossed over to a garbage bin just in time before it disappears into the sim, and he reaches for the hilt on his belt. Given how Zephyr is already geared up, Kyle doesn't exactly waste time with idle chatter. His lightsaber ignites, the blue beam forming into existence with a distinctive hum at three feet or so, and Kyle adopts a stance. "Well, I'm ready when you are."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr nods, and shrugs the axe from her shoulder, slamming the blade into the stone floor. "I'm not gonna go easy on ya." she replies, before she summons her magic. A dark purple spell circle springs up around her feet, while a cloud of purple light-motes appear in the air around her. <IMPUSE CASCADE!> chimes the Device, before the 'bullets' fire with the cracks of gunshots. They're unguided, but there's a /lot/ of them.
Kyle Katarn     "I was hoping you'd say that." While this would seem formidable to most people, a trained Jedi is usually skilled enough to not be daunted by mere energy projectiles. Lucky for Kyle, as he's had more than enough practice in the field against Stormtroopers than most would. His lightsaber darts as he begins to evade Zephyr's fire, deflecting and batting away at the energy beams. It's not that different than batting blaster bolts in a harmless direction, and Kyle responds by moving in to close ranger, leaping at Zephyr with his lightsaber slashing downwards at her.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr was expecting as much. This is what happened last time she sparred with the Jedi. She sets her stance when Kyle leaps in at her, and with a kiai, she sweeps her axe blade up to meet that lightsaber, the edges glowing brightly purple, and emitting a large flash of light, much like two lightsabers clashing.
Kyle Katarn     And now the fun begins. Kyle's lightsaber clashes against Divine Wind, energy blade meeting Device. Landing to the ground, he follows the strike up with another slash, parrying whichever attack Zephyr dishes out in return. Whatever magitec it is that powers Divine Wind, it's definitely powerful enough to withstand a lightsaber's blow. Kyle's seen the magic of Zephyr's world before, as well as worlds like it, he knows what to expect.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr's not a /fast/ melee fighter. She does use the entire length of her heavy blade, but the sheer mass of it makes each individual strike slower. The mage supplements this with flashes of magical barrier, rotating spell seals, and transluscent domes of energy to block faster strikes she can't parry with her Device. Her defense isn't perfect though, and she earns a few slashes to her Barrier Jacket for her trouble. "Still got it, old man." she compliments, then blurrs out of view, appearing a bit further back. "Lets see how you like this. Divine Wind!"

<YES! DEVICE MODE. MISTRAL FORM.> The Device glows brightly, and shrinks down in size. One blade entirely vanishes, while two spinning fan-blades spall off and begin to orbit the young mage. Mistral form is a short-haft halberd-like blade, obviously much lighter than the full battleax.
Kyle Katarn     Zephyr hits like a truck, but Kyle's used to heavy hitters. Maw, Gorc, Dessan, they were all tough opponents physically. He's a lot stronger than he looks, and the compliment gets him a grin as he begins to press back with a heavy overhead slash, trying to jostle Zephyr off balance. The additional barriers do keep her from getting cut into bits, and Kyle backs off just to find Zephyr adopt a lighter fighting style. He begins to shift his tactics, holding his ground with lightsaber aloft when she adopts Mistral mode.
Zephyr Windstar     "This is probably new to you. So I'll give you a run down." she says, sweeping that lighter blade to the side. <AREA MODE. MISTRAL SQUALL> The two spinning fan blades zip out, adopting a range of about 150 meters from the mage. Within this area, the wind begins to act strangely, in that there /is/ wind. The air begins to swirl, gust and cross blast seemingly at random, and within this newly swirling maelstrom, the Mage seems entirely unaffected. "This is my world now." she states simply, kicking off the ground and surging at the Jedi at high speed. Even a Jedi Master would likely be impressed at the sudden burst of raw velocity!
Kyle Katarn     Well this is new. Kyle raises an eyebrow, his lightsaber florishing as he prepares himself for what Zephyr has in mind. He barely has time to react when Zephyr zooms towards him, grunting as he takes a hit like he was slammed by a crate. "Agh!" He's knocked off his feet, but he recovers with a nimble flip before slashing towards Zephyr with his lightsaber, his strikes swift and direct.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr shifts on the flow of wind, barely avoiding those slashes, black scorches appearing on her Barrier Jacket as she flies past. She seems to be using the air to augment her speed and agility, while also trying to throw off the Jedi's own attacks with sudden gusts from nowhere. The Mage takes a wide arc out and around, skimming in low with her Device's blade kicking up sparks along the floor, trailing purple light as she aims not to tackle, but pass nearby with that blade held out.
Kyle Katarn     The Wind attacks are not unlike a Force push, as Kyle struggles to stay standing. He senses Zephyr's attack coming, narrowly blocking the strike before following it up with a leaping slash to his opponent's neck. Her barrier jacket may end up withstanding the blow, and he backs off only to reach out with his left-hand.

Suddenly a gout of electricity blazes at Zephyr, Force Lightning to be exact. It's not as sustained as a Sith would, just a zap intended to slow her down for a followup strike.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr grks as that lightning jolt lashes out at her. She's mid-turn to make another pass, and with the sudden surge of electricty knocking off her control, she rolls in the air, and slams into the far wall, grunting as her Barrier Jacket thankfully takes the brunt of the impact. She rolls groggily back to her feet, then levels a glare on Kyle. "Gear Second." <MISTRAL STORM. GEAR SECOND.> A third 'Bit' spalls off from her Device, and all three begin to orbit close around the girl. She brings up the Device, setting her stance for a high power chop... but what's she gonna do from over there? <HALCYON DIVIDE.> chimes the Device, as the entire blade glows deep purple. Zephyr swings, but instead of the usual spinning buzz-saw of energy... it's a 'blade beam'!
Kyle Katarn     "Didn't expect that, didn't you? Good to have a trump card to knock someone's perception off balance." Kyle says, with more than a little playfulness to his tone. Even when in the heat of a sparring match he's still giving out free tips, but that's just the kinda guy he is. His lightsaber moves up to block the chopping attack, before he leaps back to evade the beam of energy swung at her. "Whoa, you have been getting stronger...what else did I miss when I was gone?"
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr pants for breath, that's a big attack and it takes a lot of mana out of her system. She straightens, and rests her axe over her shoulder again. "Lotta stuff." she replies, then smirks a bit. "Glad t'see you've not lost your touch, though." she adds. "Y'need me for anythin'... beatin' up more of them Reborn chumps or whatever, gimme a shout." she concludes. "I think I'm done... I could use my Finisher, but it probably wouldn't work on you."
Kyle Katarn     "'course I haven't." Kyle laughs, extinguishing his lightsaber as he pops his neck. "You did pretty good yourself, kid. Any time you want backup on a mission, you know how to find me. I'll be happy to fight beside you any time." He says, clapping the tall girl on the shoulder. "Figure we should save our strength for the field, I'm sure they'll be other chances to go and cause some trouble."
Zephyr Windstar     "Trouble's my middle name." replies Zephyr, as she dismisses her Device to Standby mode. The axe turning back into a little coin, which she sets into her right arm bracer. "Lotta stuff going down recently, if you get a chance, read up on the reports."
Kyle Katarn     "I'll do that. I get a feeling we're gonna get busy fast soon." Kyle nods, clipping his lightsaber back onto his belt as the sim turns off. Flashing a salute, he heads out. "You hungry? I figure I was gonna head to the canteen on my way out if you wanna join me." He offers.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr shrugs. "Couldn't hurt I guess." she replies, dismissing her Barrier Jacket next, and stuffing her hands into the pockets on her uniform jacket. "Dee? Let dad know I'll be home late." she says, earning a chime from the Device.
