Sanary Rondel      A lot of crazy things had happened over the past few weeks. Reptilon, the Neo Saiyans, the attack on the Abyssal base. Sanary wasn't calling Yari to the Pleasure Palace to discuss those things, though. Instead, she had something more... Potentially dangerous to discuss.

But she's certainly not dressed for a somber occasion. Rather, she's dressed in a new casual outfit: A yellow t-shirt with a cartoon canary on it and tan short shorts. Definitely not the most appropriate clothing for a serious discussion, and the Pleasure Palace itself might not even be the best location.

Still, talking about her concerns in a more comfortable environment might be just what the one-eyed healer needs. She's standing around the entrance of the Pleasure Place itself, pacing around slowly while gazing at the ceiling. She's distracted, and not doing a great job at hiding the fact that she's troubled about something.
Yari Takane Never let it be said that Yari Takane isn't willing to be there for her friends. She's in a slightly rumpled dress uniform, fresh off of duty. She'd made a bee-line after a quick shower towards Sanary after getting the call. And given how the last few weeks have been? The lizardess can throw a dart and guess what it's about.

Which only becomes more likely given that troubled expression. Walking up without any preamble, Yari reaches for one of Sanary's arms to half cuddle the girl. /Not/ something she'd usually do, but the woman is honestly worried for her favorite human.

"Sanary. Come on, we'll find somewhere quiet." Then it's off towards a cute little booth that's fairly out of the way for the Palace. Nice and private.

Then she's sitting down, arm on the table, legs crossed. And Yari isn't even drinking. She's that serious today.

"What's on your mind?"
Sanary Rondel      Sanary's so out of sorts that when Yari comes up behind her, she barely even notices until the Au Ra is already hugging her. There's a light squeak from the healer, then a relaxed sigh as she reaches up slightly to pat Yari's arm. "Hey, Yari. Ah.. Thanks for coming so quickly."

The two waste little time in getting to a that private space to talk, although Sanary's clearly worried about something even before she says a word. She rubs her neck and takes a deep breath, sounding rather uncertain as she starts to speak. "So I've been thinking about doing this... Thing with Vega to get a lot stronger. Got a lot of input from people over the Confederate comms and in private about it." She laughs lightly and clears her throat, the serious slash uncertain tone returning to her voice.

"The good thing is if it works, I might be able to fly. And teleport. Definitely fight stronger opponents a lot better than I can now, still be able to heal, and be able to... You know. Protect more people and do even more than I've been able to now."

Of course, for every piece of good news comes the bad news. "Bad thing is that... Uh. Well, first thing is that it's really dangerous. So if I'm not strong enough, it could just kill me. Or... Some people are worried this could mess with my head in a really bad way. Might make me go berserk, eat people, become a mindless minion to Vega.. Uh. Maybe go crazy and turn other people into mindless minions. Also, it's called Psycho Power."

There's a pause as she rubs her neck, glancing around the area slowly before letting out a long sigh. "I haven't actually talked to Vega about a decision or what the side effects might be, though, so... Yeah. I'm not sure what to do. What do you... Uh. What do you think?"
Yari Takane Yari's quiet through much of Sanary's words at first. As it turns out, ninjas are /very/ good at listening. But she doesn't bother with hiding the increasing worry in her features. Her tail lashes, a frown sits on her face, and her eyes narrow just a bit. A shiver runs through her.

It all feels far too close to the creatures she fights.

"It sounds like a shortcut to power that will either kill you or turn you to nothing more than a thrall." Comes Yari, almost brutally blunt. She takes a breath, and tries to calm herself. For perhaps the first time, Yari looks absolutely terrified, skin paling about four shades.

"You have built much on what you've been given." She points to the eye.

"And all of your effort has made you stronger. But this? Frankly, it sounds like a ploy. Do yo know what an Eikon is, Sanary? They are creatures of pure magic that steal the minds and souls of men to worship them, to use them to steal Hydaelyn and kill and slay for their own gratification. /That/ is the kind of deal you're being offered." Her voice shudders. She can't help it.

"Don't risk that beautiful body and mind, Sanary. I know you want to get stronger. But that way will end in ruin. And..."

She gulps. "I don't want to lose you. Not to...something like those damn abominations! Nevermind getting you close to this 'Vega'. Do you think this sort of deal comes without a cost? What if he merely seeks to use you?"
Sanary Rondel      Yari's bluntness, oddly enough, actually seems to relieve Sanary rather than startle her. She doesn't say anything as Yari voices her concerns, simply nodding every now and then. It's not until she finishes speaking that Sanary steps towards the Au Ra and embraces her tightly, a light chuckle leaving her moments later.

"You know... Gaius actually mentioned the Eikon thing, too. Had a long talk with him about this earlier today." She pauses for a moment before burying her face in Yari's neck, wobbling a bit on her feet. Not from physical fatigue or anything, but from all the thoughts running through her head actually taking that much out of her.

"And Lute told me about how he... Uh. Actually went berserk, attacked his friends, ate some... Bad stuff. He wasn't so against this, but... Definitely worried." Sanary takes a deep breath and just lets her head press into Yari for a moment before tilting her head back to look into her eye.

It's hard to focus on both with just the one. "And... Well. You told me what I needed to hear. So."
Yari Takane There's warmth in her arm, and Yari makes a mental note to get her superior officer well and good drunk after all of this. The man has made her day. Lute wedges into her mind, but she shudders at the thought. There are some men that simply shouldn't drink together.

Slowly, oh-so-slowly, does the feeling of impending doom and death ease off of her mind. The wobbling form of Sanary is held gently, scales on her neck warm and her pounding heart easily felt this close. Terror won't subside so quickly, but her words and those on the radio mix relief with a growing anger.

Never before has she ever wanted to rip out a superior officer's eyeballs quite this much. And without even seeing them yet. It might be some kind of Garlean record.

"Remind me to hug Lute next time I see him until his ribs threaten to break." She sounds utterly serious about this.

Then she just holds her love and best friend. She lets the anger pass, burying it in a deep hole in her heart.

"We'll find your true strength, Sanary. Me, you, Lute, and the Legatus. I won't let you be sullied by anything."
Sanary Rondel      As Sanary finishes speaking, she looks oddly relieved as if a massive weight has been lifted off her shoulders. Coincidentally, her shoulders are still incredibly hard and tense, likely from (what else) the last few weeks' events. She practically slumps into Yari's hold as the relaxation just hits her all at once, wobbling a little longer before steadying her legs to stop herself from flat out falling over onto her.

"Will do. Maybe not /that/ hard, but... Hey. Perfect chance to see the beach house. He rented out a beach house, by the way. Real nice."

Another sigh leaves her as she straightens up finally, patting Yari's back softly before taking a seat back in the booth. "Just... Really needed to get that sorted out. I want to get strong enough to protect you and everyone else from everything, and I'll take whatever risks I have to do that. But... Not if it'll hurt you or Lute that much."

She casts her gaze downwards slightly, biting her lip for a moment before speaking up again. "Although... Did sound like a lot of power. Just gotta figure out a better way to get there without those kinds of risks, eh? Or taking... Twenty years."
Yari Takane A sneaky hand reaches for those shoulders! One gets a rub, the dextrous-fingered lizard woman doing her best to massage while hugging. It's a bit of a feat, even for a ninja.

"...He does, huh?" Grin!

"This sounds like an excellent vacation spot."

Reluctantly letting go, the woman finally orders a drink. She lights up too, clearly needing some stress relief herself.

There's a deep nod from the woman. "Thank you, Sanary. Risks are fine. Falling into something that smells like a trap? People don't promise power like that without prices, attachments. You're a good woman, Sanary, but you need to learn to be a little more able to find the webs of spiders."

A little chuckle. "I can help with that. I'm good at setting webs."

"I guess we need to start with what your strengths are, and weaknesses. Then we'll find ways to turn your strengths to victory, and defray your weaknesses. Magic, technology, skill. All valid ways to improve. Just need to find the means that best suits you." She rubs her chin, thoughtfully, ideas coming to her.

"But for now, I think you need a massage and a spa visit." A little wink here.

"What do you say?"
Sanary Rondel      A guttural noise unlike anything Yari has ever heard from Sanary comes out of the healer at the shoulder rub, but it's probably a good sign with how much she's drooping on the seat after being released.

"Real nice out there. Sun, water, food, huge."

The scolding draws an embarrassed chuckle from the healer, and she does nod slowly in defeat after a moment. "I know... But it's tricky, you know? I mean... We're all supposed to be allies in the Confederacy. Just seems counter... Counter-something to do that to each other. Especially if it's to get rid of each other's weaknesses."

But enough work. She grins brightly at the suggestion, sitting up to hold her hand out to the Au Ra.

"Best idea I've heard all day."
