Hitoshura It's a new moon in the Vortex World. Demons are at their weakeast, and the opportunities to scavenge relics from the previous world such as smart phones, cultural goods, and survival tools bring the occasional adventurer hhere. There are less demons here than there were as a result of their mass exodus to Ai, the demonic paradise. However, there are many demons who chose to stay here, and some willing to be contracted. It's a desert in most areas, but there are forests, lakes and such, but also areas with poisonous atmospheres. Fortunately those areas are not nearby, and the toxic clouds are a visible pink.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary wasn't sure what to expect upon taking her first steps into the Vortex World. She had heard little about this corner of the Multiverse, but exploring the stranger places has never been dull for the one-eyed healer before. Still, she wasn't expecting.. Well, /this/.

It looked like a.. City? But much less inhabited than the usual fare. Abandoned, even, if not for the strangely-shaped creatures she could see in the distance. She kept one hand on the handle of the gunaxe at her waist, glancing around slowly before advancing further through the old streets. She isn't exactly sure what she'll find here or even what she's looking for, but...

... Eh. It'll probably be fine.
Hitoshura Upon approaching the city, several low level demons approach Sanary. They look to be pixies and kodamas.

"Is that a human?" One asks.

Another says,"I don't think she's a demi-fiend."

They start to crowd her a bit, but don't seem to be threatening, just curious. "You here to make friends or something? Or are you gonna kill us and take our stuff?" The kodamas are almost paper thin with mystical markings all over their light green bodies and no visible eyes. The pixies look more modern than most of the medieval kinds, sporting short hair cuts and blue body suits and wings that curl at the end.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary halts in her movement to stare at the approaching... Creatures? Demons? Whatever they are, she raises her free hand slowly to offer them a light wave in greeting,

"Uh.. Hey, there. I'm a human, yeah. Just looking around, actually. Haven't been around here before, so..." She chuckles lightly and leans over a bit, trying to make herself look a little smaller so as to not inadvertently scare them off or something.

"Don't worry. I ain't gonna hurt you. Do... Visitors usually do that or something?"
Hitoshura "Wow, a real human. We haven't seen many of those in a while," a Pixie says, "We don't see a lot of trouble here, since we've got stronger demons to protect us. If you're lost, maybe one of them can help you find your way back. Nobody here will hurt you, as long as you play nice, too." She says with a giggle.

The demons part in the center, permitting further entry into the ruined city. Other demons such as shikigami and datsue-ba act as merchants or civilians would. For non-humans, they seem to act pretty normal. They do glance at Sanary, but none stare for too long, going back to their business. Down the path seems to be a larger building. At the front a Forneus and a Decarabia seem to be discussing something.
Sanary Rondel      "That's good, at least... Ah. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks." Sanary flashes the Pixie a light grin before continuing on her way, keeping her eye open just to make sure nothing's trying to creep upon on her in this unfamiliar environment.

Not that it really helps prepare her for the sight of the flying stingray and giant starfish eyeball. She slows to a stop as she gets closer to the creatures, looking them over slowly while trying not to make any sudden movements or draw immediate attention to herself. "How...?"
Hitoshura "I'm telling you, Deca, we should've gone to Ai, or left for somewhere with more resources. I don't care how loyal you are to the demons who stayed. I'm packing up." The Forneus says, hovering effortlessly.

"That's your choice, but I have a village to protect." The Deca spins while they debate, perhaps the equivalent of raising an eyebrow, or scowling.

The Forneus stops suddenly and sniffs the air. "Is that.. a human..? I smell a human. No, it can't be. They left for the Multiverse a long time ago." They both start to look around, but haven't spotted Sanary yet.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary slows to a stop while still looking over the Forneus and Decarabia, looking even more confused than before when they start looking around to try and find her. She furrows her brow slightly while weighing her options and what she had heard moments earlier, eventually raising her hand into a slow wave.

"Er. Hey, there. Human this way." Her other hand is still resting on the handle of the weapon at her side, although she's not making any movements to actually draw it just yet compared to just keeping it ready just in case. "Just looking around and.. Uh. Sorry if this sounds weird, but how do you do that? The floating, I mean. And... What's this about protecting a village?"
Hitoshura "Floating? Only some of us do that. I'm Forneus, and this is Decarabia, the boss around here. He insists on staying here, and I'm leaving alone I guess," Forneus says. He thinks about it for a sec,"You weren't wanting to form a contract or anything were you? You know, for mutual protection. A lot of places out there aren't friendly to demons."

The Decarabia whispers to a nearby datsue-ba, which scurries off and comes back with a beat-up smart phone. The Decarabia looks at Sanary curiously, but says nothing just yet.

"We'd have to make sure we get along. I'll ask you some questions, and you answer them. Then we decide if we want to travel together," The Forneus says.
Sanary Rondel      "Sanary Rondel. Good to meet you both." The healer snaps her hand to her head in a practiced salute, looking between the two a few more times before giving up on trying to figure out their floating thing. However it works, it's probably not something she'll be able to do on her own regardless.

"A... Contract? Didn't really think about that. Although if you want to come back with me, I could probably put in a good word so my friends." She offers, with a light chuckle, glancing briefly at the Datsue-ba before turning back to the Forneus.

"Sounds good to me. I'm ready for whatever questions you got."
Hitoshura "Are you a get your hands dirty kind of human, or do you rely on others to get stuff done?"

Then, "Do you think tiaras are for chumps" (hint, he's got a crown/tiara thing) and finally "Who should make the rules, the strong, or the nobility?"
Sanary Rondel      Sanary grins and pats her gunaxe lightly at the first question. "Definitely more of the first. If I need to heal, I'll heal. If I have to fight, I'll fight."

She pauses briefly at the next, taking note of the tiara while trying to keep her glance at it subtle. "Tiaras... Never worn one myself, but They do look pretty good on some people."

She barely takes a moment to reply to the last question. "The strong. A name alone isn't going to protect anyone or get what you want."
Hitoshura The Forneus does a legit barrel roll while grinning and says,"Yep, that's good enough for me."

"You'll use the demon app on this phone to summon Forneus. Optionally, you can store him in it, but don't leave him in there for too long. It's pretty boring in there," The Decarabia explains. The Datsue-ba hands you the phone, and <<FORNEUS JOINS YOUR PARTY>>.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary laughs at the Forneus confusing display of acrobatics, turning to the Decarabia and listening to the star demon's explanation. "Good to know. He'll have plenty of room to move around back at my palce, so it shouldn't be too boring. Just gotta warn the co-workers first so they don't get worried.

Chuckling lightly, Sanary gives the Datsue-ba and Decarabia a grateful nod. "Definitely have to come back here some time to check in on this place. Be safe." And with that, Sanary's on her way back to the warp gate!
