Raine Arland      "...Sheesh, this place is fricken cold."

A certain young man dressed in black muttered under his breath as he carted several boxes of goods on a handtruck through what he figured was his client's residence. "And who the christ orders this much god damn ice cream?" The young man muttered again, eyes narrowing in lingering disbelief at the sheer ridiculousness of the request.

Oh well, at least it pays, right?

"For what is supposed to be your profession, you certainly do complain a lot. I guess you're just not professional enough, hm?" A voice echoed out from the general vicinity of the man. But there was no one else with him.

That got a twitch of the brow out of him. "Shut up. And don't talk. I swear if more people see you, I'll never hear the end of it." The voice quieted down with a giggle after that, leaving it all quiet again. "...Well, no sign of /anyone/ so far." He looked left, then right. And then he raised a hand to his mouth to amplify his voice.

"Delivery! Anyone home? ...By the way you should lock your door next time! People be creeping!" Like him. Wait no, this was a job!
Vanessa Selby A loud yawning can be heard as Vanessa can be seen stretched out on a slab of ice. There's several empty cartons of ice cream scattered about along with a few books. Her attention turns towards to a clock and she blinks a bit as she realizes what time it is. "I thought I did lock it...wait who was's there?" She doesn't remember having any visitors today. Wait, was the deliveryman already here? She wasn't expecting her order to come early.
Raine Arland      "......Dude."

That was all the man in black could muster, seeing who he figured was his client, sloppily laid out on a slab of ice. ...And he's just starting to notice how messy it was. There were ice cream cartons everywhere. And books! "Wow, and I thought my ship was a mess! Ahahahaha!" At that, he burst out laughing. "Oh man, this is something else!"

A moment or two later, and the black haired man sobered up enough to produce an order slip from his pocket. "Are you...Vanessa Selby? You're the one who ordered /five boxes or ten cartons of tofu ice cream each/? He let that sink into his mind once more. "Do you actually eat all of this?" One look around would tell him yes, but he asked anyway. "...And where does it all /go/?"

He was quite talkative for a courier, wasn't he?
Vanessa Selby "I wasn't expecting anyone to come by today, and could you stop yelling." Vanessa's ears go back a bit with that. "Yes, I ordered those." She slowly pries herself off the block of ice and onto her feet. "I can't help it, I have cravings for it." She bends over pick up one of the empty cartons, "Though maybe I got a little carried away last night. What do you mean where does it all go?" She's not quite sure what he's implying by that.
Raine Arland      "You weren't expecting anyone to come by? I call bull. You placed the order, you knew the timeframe." He held the order slip out to Vanessa for her to sign. "Anywho, sign this and it's alll yours. All of it. Every laaaaaast, tofu filled bite." And then he shuddered briefly. Ergh. Tofu ice cream. Disgusting.

The young man smirked at the fox girl's question though. "As for what I mean...well..." He gestured a hand starting from his chest, then down past his hips, and then all about. "People tend to get fat if they eat that much. Do you work out? You don't strike me as the work out type though. More of the laze on a slab of ice type, heh heh." Wow, blunt.

While they were talking though, Vanessa might have noticed that books and empty ice cream cartons were...starting to move around on their own. As if a ghost was possessing them. Possessing books into stacks and piling empty cartons into a pile.
Vanessa Selby "Keeping this place cold burns a lot of energy." Vanessa looks around for a pen before finding one and signing the order slip. Despite her lack of a chest, Vanessa wasn't really skinny either. "And I exercise my mind quite a bit." Her body not quite so much. "I don't really feel like going out and doing much a lot of the time."
Raine Arland      "You could just not do that." He looked over the signed slip and folded it, pocketing it after. "You gonna melt if it's not cold? Is that it? Are you like one of those abominable snowmen?" That thought gave him pause. He must have started imagining exactly that. "Pffft--" And then he snorted.

"Ahahahahaha!" Annnnd he burst out laughing yet again. Wow this guy was pretty easy to amuse, wasn't he? "Oh man, now I want to see that! Will you falls to your knees and go 'I'm meeeeltiiiiiiiing...'" And as he said that, he dramatically fell to his own knees, clutching his chest and reaching out for Vanessa in feigned desperation with his other arm.

     This guy.

Meanwhile, the place continued to seemingly clean itself. A number of books floated past between Raine and Vanessa, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. "........." His gaze followed the books as they set themselves into a neat stack nearby. "......"
Vanessa Selby "No, I'm not going to melt. Do I look like a snowman to you. It's just uncomfortable for me when it's warm out. Are you done making a scene?" Vanessa doesn't see to be too amused by Raine's antics. "If you act like this to all your customers, I'm surprised you still have a job." She can't believe his nerve. She's a bit surprised as the books go floating past her, "Why are my books moving on their own?"
Raine Arland      Raine stood and brushed himself off, totally sober now. "Oh now worries about that. I'm self employed." That explains that. He would have been long fired if he wasn't. "Anyway--" He pat the stack of boxes, pulling the hand truck out from under them. "This is your stuff. Try not to eat it all in one day, yeah?"

At her question regarding the books, the young man narrowed his eyes a tad. "That's....." He trailed off, not sure where to start on that. He /told/ her not to do anything, but noooo, she went and did something. Jerk.

At that point, numerous empty cartons were raised into the air, and then flattened and folded. "...(Now she's just messing with me.) ...Call it...a free cleaning service. Yeah!" He spread his arms and stepped back, gesturing to her residence. "Cleaner now, right? All in a day's work!"

     Not much of an explanation.
Vanessa Selby "Well that would explain things, I guess I can't complain to your boss then. I think I've filled my cravings for a bit at least." Vanessa's not in the mood for ice cream right now. "A free cleaning service, well I guess I can't complain means less work for me. That remains I should find some new books, those didn't have any useful information in them." She sounds a bit frustrated at that. "I suppose you're waiting to get paid." The foxgirl begins to check her pockets for money as she says that.
Raine Arland      "Heh heh~ Nope! I am the boss!" He crossed his arms, grinning and nodding proudly. "I don't have to pay any employees either." Well, that could be a plus in some ways. All that aside, at the mention of money, Raine nodded again. "That would be correct. You saw the total on the form. Once I get that, we'll be out of your hair."

He paused after that, realizing something. Did he say we? Ah crap. Talk about a verbal typo! "I mean, I'll be out of your hair. Yeah, just me." Yep. Just him.
Vanessa Selby Vanessa finally finds the money after digging through her pockets and a fingerless gloved hand is offered to him. "I though you just said you worked alone?" Her ears fold over as she looks at him a bit curiously. "Whatever, as long as the ice cream is all there I could care less."
Raine Arland      "Ahahaha...don't worry abou-" Raine took the payment, but froze halfway as a ghostly, white figure appeared, floating in midair behind Vanessa. She wore a tattered white dress, her hair was unreasonablely long...and white. Her skin was awfully pale. Her ears were long, and she had a long, thick tail waving about from behind her. ...She looked like a ghost, bottom line. While Vanessa's back was turned, she made silly gestures, waving her arms, sticking her tongue out, basically being a brat.

Raine's brow twitched again. "-t that..." He awkwardly finished his cut off sentence slowly, a frown on his face. Seriously what was that girl doing!? He couldn't make any strange gestures to tell her to go away, and he also couldn't say anything. In fact just looking at her was suspicious. He broke eye contact then and pretended he saw nothing. "So, Miss Selby, thank you for choosing Arland Courier Services, and we hope to be of use to you again in the future!" He smiled nervously, backing away and pulling his handtruck along with him.
Vanessa Selby Vanessa can't see the ghost since she's facing away from her. Still he was acting a bit strangely around her, and there was the fact of the stack cartons and books. She has a bit of feeling that they're not the only two in here, but she can't prove anything. "You said we again. I'm certain of it. My hearing is excellent." Maybe the feeling she was having was correct.
Raine Arland      Did he say we? Ah crap. "Uh--Arrrgh! Fine." Raine sighed, rubbing the back of his head. The figure behind Vanessa brought a sleeve to her mouth making giggling motions silently at his screw up. Raine narrowed his eyes at the ghostly figure and gestured straight towards her.

"Turn around." Is all he said to Vanessa. No point explaining. Just look.
Vanessa Selby Vanessa turns around to see the ghostly figure behind her. "Well, that would explain things. I'm assuming she's a co-worker?" She doesn't seem to be too phased by the girl. She notes there seems to be no sound coming from her though which is a bit strange though.
Raine Arland      "Not a co-worker. More like..." Raine tried to explain, but then just gave up halfway. "You know what, I give up. I'm out of here. Till next time." He turned around, one hand raised in parting as he slipped out the front door, pushing the hand truck.

That left Vanessa with the floating figure. Said floating figure smiled playfully and ampled much closer to the fox girl. Her movements were entirely silent. Not even a single rustle of cloth to be heard. The ghostly girl reached forward with her sleeves once close enough and...grabbed Vanessa's ears.

     Not too hard though.

Seemed she was curious about them. Actually, the odd thing about this was that this 'ghost' was cabable of making physical contact. Maybe she wasn't entirely a ghost. "Oh my, so soft. I've been dying to touch these since I first saw them~" And then a voice echoed in Vanessa's mind. But the figure herself did not actually speak words. In fact, her face was still set in a curious smile.

     Creepy.
Vanessa Selby Vanessa doesn't be bothered by Raine's departure at all. She cringes a bit at that, her ears are quite senstive after all. Even if she doesn't care for them. She's even more surprised by the voice inside her head though. Was the ghost trying to communicate with her? "And you are?"
Raine Arland      "Who am I?" The voice echoed once again, mismatched by the floating girl continuing to play with Vanessa's ears. "Your new best friend~" Okay that was not the right answer. The girl in white finally let go of the other's ears and proceeded to float circles around the fox girl, examining her form. "Awwww, your tail is all fluffy too! Come here!"

...And then she grabbed it and hugged it close, nuzzling with her cheek. ...Personal space wasn't a thing with her, was it?
Vanessa Selby "Ah! I don't have any friends! Stop that!" Vanessa tries to move away as the girl pulls on one of her tails. She looks quite embarrassed at the scene she was making. Who did this girl think she was to pull such a stunt? A chill runs through her body, thought it wasn't the normal cold that she felt.
Raine Arland      "Awwww! Look at the cute widdle fox pretending to not have friends!" The girl's voice came out in a patronizing tone as she continued to cuddle one of Vanessa's tails. "Don't be shy! You have a friend now, it's okay~" If having a ghost for a friend was cool. No pun intended. She eventually relented and let go of the poor girl's tail, floating back around to her front. Facing Vanessa, she reached forward and squished the fox girl's cheeks with her hands under her sleeves. "Repeat after me; Fragarach is my friend!" Ah, so that must be her name. While she did so, she playfully squished Vanessa's cheeks in time with her words, playing her like a doll.

This one must have been real bored before this.
Vanessa Selby "Let go of me!" Vanessa does her best to try and pushes Fragarch off of her. "I don't like being a fox and I don't want to be friends." Her personality cetainly suited her abilities that was for sure. "Why are you being so friendly with someone you barely even know!" She can't believe how forward the girl was.
Raine Arland      "Bweeeeeh~" Fragarach was shoved, but just went along, letting herself be separated, making silent laughing motions that did not follow through into actual sound. "Well, I can't help you with your fox problem..." The ghostly girl mused, her voice invading Vanessa's mind once again. "...as for why I'm being friendly...?" She didn't answer that.

Instead, she floated closer to the other, till their faces were millimeters apart. "Because. I. Feel. Like. It~" She ennunciated every word of that sentence, then playfully poked Vanessa's nose with a finger through her sleeve.

"Ah, but I can sense that fool's ship starting up. So I will have to let you go. ...This time." She smiled mischievously and waved an arm cutely. "Bye~ I'll come play another day, okay~?"
Vanessa Selby "Do you really think you can get through to me? Forget it." Vanessa sounds rather dismissive of Fragarch. She's glad to hear that the girl is leaving though. She can have some privacy again. Still if she orders something again there's a risk of her showing up again. But that means she'll actually have to go out and get things on her own. It was going to be unpleasant for her either way.
